How to fix Samsung Galaxy S9 stuck in boot loop during software update. It's really unfortunate that this issue occurred since this device does not usually get stuck in a boot loop when in the process of a software update, to fix this issue you should perform the troubleshooting steps listed below. Charge the phone. The first thing that you should do is to make sure that the battery of the phone has sufficient charge. Connect the phone to its wall charger then let it fully charge. In case the phone does not charge then proceed with the steps listed below. Charge the phone using a different USB cord and wall charger. Try charging the phone from the computer USB port. Do a soft tree set. Once the phone has fully charged proceed with a soft tree set. Press and hold the power plus volume down buttons until the device powers off. The maintenance boot mode screen will appear. Select normal boot. Wipe the cache partition of the phone. This will erase the temporary system data of the phone. When this data gets cluttered or outdated it can cause issues with the device which is why wiping the cache partition usually helps in this case. Turn off the phone. Press and hold the volume up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the power key. When the Android logo displays, release all three keys, an installing system update message will show for 30 to 60 seconds before the Android system recovery menu options appear. Press the volume down key several times to highlight wipe cache partition. Press power key to select. Press the volume down key to highlight yes, then then press the power key to select. When the wipe cache partition is complete, reboot system now is highlighted. Press the power key to restart the device. Perform a factory reset with the hardware keys. Turn off the phone. Press and hold the volume up key and the Bixby key, then press and hold the power key. When the green Android logo displays, release all keys, press the volume down key several times to highlight wipe data, factory reset. Press power button to select. Press the volume down key until yes, delete all user data is highlighted. Press power button to select and start the mastery set. (gentle music)
