Vice President Kamala Harris spoke about President Joe Biden today in her first appearance since the commander-in-chief dropped out of the race. And I wanted to say a few words about our president. Joe Biden's legacy of accomplishment over the past three years is unmatched in modern history. In one term, he has already-- yes, you may class. Her remarks come after a large overnight fundraising hall and endorsements from several prominent Democrats. Here with the details is Daily Wire senior editor Cabot Phillips. Just a day after President Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, Kamala Harris has raised $50 million and received a flurry of big name endorsements, including former speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Governor Gavin Newsom, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. However, several other notable Democrats, like former president Barack Obama, top Senate and House Democrats Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, have not formally endorsed her. Meanwhile, many Republicans, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, are calling for Biden to resign, saying if he cannot run, he cannot serve. Some, like Colorado Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, have gone as far as demanding proof of life from the president. Boebert took the X, saying, quote, "He needs to get in front of some camera and discuss if he's aware that he's dropped out. Hiding is completely unacceptable." Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheetoh faced tough questioning today in the House regarding the security failures that led up to the attempt on former President Trump's life. Her testimony was underscored by constant deflections, often refusing to give specifics and noting that she did not have certain resources. What they asked for and how many times you'd turn them down are pretty basic questions. So again, without having all of the details in front of me, sir, what I can tell you is that there are times-- You didn't get briefed on how many times you turned down the Trump detail when they asked for additional help? I'm sorry. You didn't get briefed on that before you came to this hearing, knowing you were going to get asked that question? What I can tell you is it in generic terms. During the hearing, she testified that the roof where the shooter fired from was identified as a potential vulnerability days before the rally, and that the Secret Service was told about a suspicious person between two and five times before the shooting. Republicans and Democrats were united in their criticism of Director Cheetoh, with many committee members calling for her to resign. During one heated exchange, Nancy Mase grilled Cheetoh over evidence not provided to the committee. Has the Secret Service provided this committee a complete list of all law enforcement personnel that were there that day? Yes or no? I'll have to get back to you on that. That is a no. Have you provided all audio and video recordings in your possession to this committee as we asked on July 15th? Yes or no? I would have to get back to you. That is a no. You're full of sh*t today. You're just being completely dishonest. Mr. Chairman, we have to maintain the quorum in this committee. This episode is brought to you by Loomin. Take the next step in improving your health. President Joe Biden's meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has reportedly been canceled. Netanyahu arrived in Washington today with plans to meet the president, Vice President Kamala Harris in Congress this week. Here with Morris Daily Wire senior editor Joel Needler. Before boarding his flight to the United States, today, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made the following comments. I've planned to see President Biden, whom I've known for over 40 years. This will be an opportunity to thank him for the things he did for Israel in the war. And during his long and distinguished career in public service as Senator and Vice President and as President, it will also be an opportunity to discuss with him how to advance in the critical months ahead the goals that are important for both our countries. The Prime Minister said he wants to maintain Israel's alliance with the U.S., "regardless of who the American people choose as their next president." He will address Congress this Wednesday with a focus on bipartisanship. Israel's leader will have to convince lawmakers that the country has a path to end the war with Hamas and quell concerns over its growing conflict with Yemen. After a drone strike from the Houthis, a Yemen-based terrorist group, Israel struck a port in Yemen that it says was used to bring weapons into the country. D.C. Metro Police are expecting thousands of anti-Israel protesters and have preemptively shut down streets around the city. A group of about 3,000 migrants from a dozen Latin American countries is heading toward the U.S. border. Daily Wired Deputy Managing Editor Tim Rice has the latest. Members of the migrant caravan, approaching from Mexico's southern border, reportedly aimed to reach the U.S. border before a potential Trump presidency. Some voiced concerns that Trump would end the program where asylum seekers are able to reside in the United States while their cases are pending. The Biden administration, including Vice President Harris, have faced heavy criticism for weak border policies, which have led in a record number of illegal immigrants. And Karen Reid is back in court today for the first time since her first two-month murder trial ended in a mistrial. Reid is accused of killing her Boston police officer boyfriend, John O'Keefe, in February of 2022. However, her defense argued that Reid was framed as part of a cover-up by a group of individuals, including members of Boston law enforcement. Her first trial ended with jurors hopelessly deadlocked. Today's hearing will hash out the details of a possible second trial. Those are your drive home updates this afternoon.
