President Biden is reportedly seeking a massive overhaul of the Supreme Court. Here with the details is Daily Wire senior editor Ash Short. Biden is looking to reform the Supreme Court with an array of changes. That reportedly includes both term limits for justices and an enforceable ethics code. Right now, justices serve for life and the ethics code is more of a guideline than a law. While Biden's plan is still being finalized, it'll ultimately be difficult to enact, considering it would need congressional approval or to be added as a constitutional amendment. Biden had initially avoided the topic of Supreme Court reform, but this signals an attempt to win over his left flank ahead of the election, who have been openly critical of the court's actions throughout Biden's presidency. In another attempt to unify Democrat support, President Biden's formal nomination to become the Democrat's presidential candidate has been delayed. Democrat party leaders were initially pushing to nominate Biden by the end of July, but faced pushback from House Democrats earlier this week over the rushed process. Biden has faced calls to step down as the presidential nominee from several Democratic lawmakers, including most recently Representative Adam Schiff. Now the Democratic National Committee has said, "No voting will begin before August 1st." Though a virtual roll call will still be held ahead of the Democratic National Convention on August 19th. Another investigation into the Secret Service failure at the July 13th Trump rally has been opened. Daily Wire reporter Amanda Prestigiacomo has more. The glaring security failures at Trump's rally have already sparked a congressional investigation and an internal analysis by U.S. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheetell. The Department of Homeland Security Inspector General announced today that it will also be conducting an investigation. Cheetell has been highly criticized for her agency's failures, as well as her own public response in the aftermath of the assassination attempt. The DHS investigation comes after the National Security Council revealed that it had warned the Secret Service of an Iranian assassination attempt targeting Trump. Though unrelated to the shooting over the weekend, some intelligence officials say the Secret Service should have taken greater precautions. The Republican National Convention was on high alert yesterday after a security threat surfaced on Monday. A man was arrested outside the event wearing a ski mask, carrying a backpack full of ammunition and a concealed AK-47 rifle. The man was arrested, though neither the motive nor charges have been announced. RNC security were also involved in another incident a few blocks away from the event, where a man was shot and killed by police while waving steak knives at a civilian. In a newly released interview from June, President Trump shared his thoughts on economic policy with Bloomberg's Business Week, here to discuss his daily wire senior editor Joel Needler. Much of the interview reflected Trump's ideology from his first presidency. He proposed cutting the corporate tax rate, expanding oil drilling and cutting interest rates. But he also changed his tune on some key policies and people. He said he'd consider JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon, whom he criticized just last year for Treasury Secretary. He's now pro cryptocurrency, citing concerns that China would take over crypto dominance. He's also now pro TikTok, seeing it as an important competitor to Facebook. Trump also said he would not fire Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and would not pardon himself if convicted of a federal crime. Elon Musk, owner of Tesla, X and SpaceX, announced yesterday that he will be moving all of his business operations out of California and into Texas. Musk posted on X yesterday that X and SpaceX will now be headquartered in Austin and Starbase, Texas, respectively. Musk moved Tesla's headquarters from California to Austin in 2021. The move comes in the wake of a new California bill, which bans schools from requiring parental notification if a child identifies as transgender. Musk said he's moving because, quote, "this law" and many others that have preceded it, attacking both families and companies. And Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo swam the river Seine today in an effort to prove its cleanliness ahead of the Paris Olympic Games opening next week. It was a dream and now it's real. And when we have a swimming pool in the river, there's always the people for the Parisian people and for the tourists also. And you can know it is so beautiful. Swimming in the Seine has been banned for over a century due to pollution, but the river has undergone a $1.5 billion clean-up effort in recent years. Hidalgo had planned to swim in the river last month, but bacteria levels were still too high until just recently.
