The New York Times reports that democrat donors say those tens of millions will be withheld unless president Biden pulls out of the race. The news comes after house minority leader Hakim Jeffries revealed today that he expressed Democrats concerns over Biden's electability to the president himself in a private meeting last night. Nearly 20 house Democrats along with one senator have openly called for Biden to withdraw so far. Meanwhile, Republicans like VP candidate Doug Bergam say America can't unsee what they saw on the debate stage last month and at the NATO press conference last night. Here he is on Fox and friends. When you talk to people if they haven't been watching your station, they're in shock because this has been hidden from them almost an old Soviet-style thing like hey our leader's fine but oh actually he's not and of course now you see media you see the elites you see Hollywood all turning on him but it's kind of sad for America because they say you know hey they're worried about threats to democracy. Well a big threat to democracy is when you don't have the media actually doing the reporting and holding an administration accountable. Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki says Kamala Harris is the best candidate to replace Joe Biden as the presidential nominee but Psaki also blasted American voters for disliking Harris telling POD save America that her image is suffering because quote we live in a sexist and racist country. This is why I think when she did out and did a couple of interviews after the debate people were I was sitting on the set with a bunch of other MSNBC anchors and we were like everybody's like that was great. It's like yeah that's what she's doing out in the country and nobody is really tracking it. Virginia Governor Glenn Yunken has officially made schools in the state cell phone free zones. Daily Wire senior editor Ash Short has the latest. The governor signed an executive order this week banning student use of cell phones in all K-12 schools. The announcement cited mental health concerns and research that shows students who use cell phones in class perform worse. Secretary of Education Amy Gordias said the data is clear and it is time for Virginians to come together to address the damage of social media and screens to healthy childhoods. The state will work with and fund public school systems to find the best model of preventing cell phone use and looks to include parent input and implement policies by January 1st of next year. The Senate Judiciary Committee voted yesterday to reject a controversial Biden-appointed judicial nominee. The nominee Sarah Netburn was scrutinized by Republicans for allowing a male serial rapist to be housed in a female prison by claiming he was transgender. Here Senator Ted Cruz during a hearing in May. So you took a six foot two serial rapist, serial child rapist with male genitalia and he said you know I'd like to be in a women's prison and your answer was that sounds great to me. Let me ask you something the other women in that prison do they have the right not to have a six foot two man who is a repeat serial rapist put in as their cellmate. Every person who's incarcerated has the right to be safe in their space but you didn't think so you didn't think so. Netburn also claimed she's unqualified to define what a woman is because she doesn't understand how sex is determined. She was rejected in a 10 to 11 vote with just one Democrat joining Republicans against the nomination. Used vehicle prices have cooled after massive spikes following the pandemic. After peaking at almost 24,000 in 2022 the average price of a used car fell to just under $18,000 in June. Used electric vehicle prices have fallen the most down 16.6% compared to last year. Prices continue to decline as vehicle inventories continue to grow and consumers opt for new cars decreasing demand for used ones. While good news for those looking for a new used ride it's not great for people looking to trade in their car while still making payments on it. And Donald Trump followed through on his debate challenge to face Joe Biden in a golf match vowing to donate 1 million dollars to charity should Biden win. Trump's challenge calls back to a viral moment from the presidential debate where the candidates quarreled over their golf handicaps. And by the way I told you before I'm happy to play golf if you carry your own bag. Think you can do it. That's the biggest ride that is a six handicap of all. I was an eight-handed captain. Biden's spokesman James Singer declined the invitation calling it quote "weird antics" and claiming the president is quote "busy leading America and defending the free world." Notably Biden himself challenged Trump to a golf match in a post on X and March. Those are your drive home updates this afternoon.
