Today is Sunday, August 18th, and this is Kokesbury's Daily Bible Reading Plan. Today's scripture comes from the Book of Romans, chapter 5, verses 4 and 5. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment, for we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with His love. Our second scripture is Psalm 42, verses 6 and 8. My God, now I am deeply discouraged, but I will remember you. Even from distant Mount Herman, the source of the Jordan, from the land of Mount Mazzar. But each day the Lord pours His unfailing love upon me, and through each night I sing His songs, praying to God who gives me life. Now let's apply it. You will experience difficulties that help us grow. The problems that we run into will develop our perseverance, which, in turn, will strengthen our character, deepen our trust in God, and give us greater confidence about the future. Thank God for those opportunities to grow, and deal with them in His strength. Thank you for joining us for the Daily Bible Reading Podcast.
