I'll give you hints. Then you, guess what it is. Are you ready? What word can you say when you would like something instead of I want or give me? - Please. - Yes, we can say please. The word please makes your request so much nicer. What nice thing can you say when someone does something nice for you or says something kind to you? - Thank you. - Yes, thank you. And what can you say when someone says, thank you for something? Should you just be silent and not say anything? Or is there something nice you can say back? - You're welcome. - That's right. You're welcome. Saying please, thank you and your welcome are all nice ways to talk to each other. They are polite words that make Jesus and other people happier. Our story today is about a man who remember to say thank you. Heavenly Father, thank you for the story we're gonna hear today about the 10 sick men. Please help us to learn good lessons so we can please you in Jesus' name, amen. Our Bible story book tells us about 10 men who were very sick. How many men? Did you say 10, that's right. They all had really bad sores that kept getting worse and worse. It was a sickness called leprosy. The sores looked so bad that others were afraid. They had spots all over their body that looked really painful. The sick men had to stay by themselves. They couldn't be around healthy people. Then one day, the 10 sick men heard about Jesus. Who do they hear about? Jesus. Maybe Jesus can make us better the 10 men said. They wanted to go see Jesus, but they didn't know how since they weren't supposed to be near other people. Then they got an idea. They stood by a road where Jesus was walking. When Jesus came by, they called out as loudly as they could. Jesus saw how bad the men looked. Jesus felt very sorry that they were so sick. Jesus told the 10 men, go see the priest. The men weren't healed yet. They weren't supposed to go see other people if they still had the sickness. But when Jesus said go, they obeyed. And as they obeyed, and they started going towards the priest, like Jesus told them, guess what happened? Jesus made them all better. The 10 men were so happy. They had no more spots. Their bodies were healed. Now they could go and be with their families at home again. They had been away for so long, but now they could go and hug them and kiss them and stay in their house again. Jesus had healed them. And now people wouldn't run away afraid of them when they saw them. The 10 men needed to say something to Jesus. Do you know what that was? Yes, thank you. But only one man turned around to say thank you to Jesus. All of the rest forgot. Jesus was happy that the man came back to say thank you, but he was sad that the others forgot. Are you learning to say thank you to Jesus and to others? Jesus is always happy when we remember to say thank you, Jesus, for the good things he's done. It's memory verse time. Our memory verse today is Psalms 92, verse one. It is good to give thanks to the Lord. You can nod your head up and down when we say it is good. So nod up and down. Do you remember the way to sign thank you? You can put your hand flat against your chin, tips of your fingers, and then move your hand down away from your chin. That's how you sign the word thank you when we say to give thanks. And then for the last part of the verse, you can point up to heaven when we say to the Lord. So it goes like this, it is good, not up and down. To give thanks, sign thank you with your hand. To the Lord, point up to heaven, Psalms 92, one. Now let's say it together. It is good as a good to give thanks to the Lord. Thank you to the Lord. Psalm 92, one. 92, one. It's time for prayer. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. For all the things you do for us. For all you do for us. Help us remember. Help us. You remember. To say please and thank you. Please and thank you. We love you, Jesus. Amen. Please love you, Jesus. Amen. The 10 men in our story were all healed. And when we all get to heaven, no one will have any more sickness, no more sores ever again. Jesus will have us all healed. We will all be healed in heaven. So our closing song is a hymn.
