This podcast is part of the Sports Social Podcast Network. [music] Lord of Mighty, I feel my temperature rising. Mmm, football's fever, is burning through to my soul. Yeah, cats, cats, cats, you're gonna set me on fire. Mmm, my brain is flaming, but I know just where to go. Yeah, the seasons kickin' off, and the bill will feel rockin'. You must go for the talkin', purple love. Purple love, must go for it. Oh, just a hunk of hunkin', purple love. And just a hunk of hunkin', purple love. Purple love, just a hunkin', purple love. [music] Five good boys, and the boneheads are talkin' purple love. [music] Boom, the boys are back in Blitz month, continues on for the second straight year with what once was considered an unimaginable guest here on Bosco's boys making his second return. Honestly, it's shame on me for not getting him back since last Blitz month. He is the man who's been covering case state sports longer than anyone who is actively doing it. Don't fact check me, but I am pretty sure. He is the host of the original case state podcast, and I'm pretty sure the only one that has more episodes than us here at Bosco's boys. He not only has a daily YouTube content, but he also launched a big 12 show around this time last year. He has been heading up Go Powercat for way longer than I had any idea because I didn't look that stat up. It is the man, the myth, the legend, Tim Fitzgerald, Tim. Welcome back. I mentioned all those accolades, and it's all while you're kicking cancer's ass as well. Welcome back to Blitz month, can you believe it's time for another football season? I need to start using don't fact check me. I like that. Like, hey, I'm gonna say this like it's a fact, but it may not be. So accept it as that. I love it. I want to start using that on everything. Because when you just sit in front of a camera or microphone and talk, you get it wrong. You get it wrong once in a while. Yes. Yes. And again, as much as you're doing it, it occasionally happens. I think, man, what was it? Was it talking about army? I had to be like, hey, man, believe it or not, for the first time ever, army's joining a conference. I remember you had a daily delivery, and I had to shoot you a DM on that. But, you know, that's going to happen. You're doing what you're doing. You're daily deliveries. You have your videos after press conferences. You have your walk-in talks, but I think you're rebranding those. And I mean, man, yeah, all the content you're doing. I mean, you started off in newspapers. Did you ever think it was going to evolve to this type of stuff? Oh, my God. God, I remember the first time when I was at this line of journal, I was invited onto the local sports talk show, and I did a spot, and I had to come back and answer questions why I was helping the competition. So that's how far the mindset has changed. Doing radio was, what are you doing? That's not us. You know, the cross-promotion aspect was totally missed on them, which newspaper business missed on a lot. But yeah, I'm a page designer and columnist, basically, by trade. And now I'm doing a lot of video, and I'm not attractive. It's like, if you want to see a talking thumb talk, K-State sports, you got it. That's me. Well, the evolution of what sports coverage is, you know, I imagine back in the day, you probably used to have a handful of beat riders throughout the state. And sports talk when you probably were getting going was, you know, on the come up. But now, I mean, there's only a handful of true newspaper quote unquote beat riders. There's a handful of subscription sites, yours included. And yeah, there's sports talk, but you know, with the rise of the chiefs and everyone having a lot of emails, fever, the Kansas city markets almost exclusively pro sports right now. And then you have a bunch of yay who's like me that are just fans doing their own content. So, I mean, how wild is it? How different is it to see your quote unquote competition? And I think everyone gets along way better than they probably did 10 years ago, let alone 20 years ago. But how different is the landscape if you want to hear and read and digest K-State content? It's crazy. It's insane. And, you know, when I made the switch in 95 from traditional newspaper to a fan magazine at the time working for the Wichita Eagle, everyone thought I was insane. But I kind of had a bad feeling about where the newspaper was heading just because they were so close minded on stuff. And the Wichita Eagle was starting up a book in magazine division, and that was more of my alley. And then they eventually sold that. But just to watch the destruction of newspaper, it got me with my magazine. Let's not forget I was a magazine first. And we just saw those numbers dwindle as readership dried up and moved over to online stuff. So it's been amazing. And now if you look at the analytics, people want to listen and watch stuff. They don't even want to bother reading. So it's the evolution has been amazing. And it's been a challenge and yet a blast to try to keep up with. Well, I absolutely love it. And like I said, you're the original podcast. And I think most folks, I was on the early edge. I remember downloading while I was in college to my iPod classic, which, you know, is probably triple the weight of my current smartphones. And you have to get on iTunes and do all that type of stuff. And now it just goes to your phone every single morning. And man, technology has been fun. So it's, it's a blast to think back on those times. I know. Well, I've, I vowed for the safety and security of all Kansas state fans that when hologram fits becomes a thing, I'll be gone because no one deserves fits in their living room on a daily basis. And that includes my wife, by the way, students. That's great. Well, we'll get into some of the questions specifically about this upcoming football season. Before we do, I'll give a shout out to our sponsor, Manhattan Brewing Company. How's this for a little bit of cross promotion? I know that the fridge also sponsors you guys in your questions podcast. Guess where you can get Manhattan Brewing Company beer right there at the fridge. It used to be a blockbuster. And believe it or not, there are people who listen to my podcast that don't even know what blockbuster is because they are having their first day of college right today. So shout out to Manhattan Brewing Company. Our official tailgating beer of the season is towny wheat, but don't forget, they just dropped the pumpkin batch, pumpkin beer. That's right. I'm gonna wait for it to get a little cooler. I see you shaking your head, but we're just going to move on past that because I want to like you fits. I don't want to ever hate you ever again. And if you start hating on pumpkin beer, especially pumpkin batch, you go on my list. It doesn't matter if you like pumpkin batch IPAs. They have whatever you could want there as well as great. Different cocktails and events Manhattan Brewing Company, the best brewery in the state of Kansas. And if you're in Wichita, they just opened their tap room every weekend. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So I know where I will be on December 21st before K state men's basketball takes on Wichita state down in Wichita. That's right, Tim Manhattan Brewing Company, not just Manhattan anymore. That's incredible. Those guys, those guys are rocking it. I mean, their ability to promote themselves while doing products that people actually want. A lot of breweries get lost and doing fancy stuff, but people love their products. It's, it's incredible. And I will be calling you pumpkin from now on. I've been called worse. We will talk majority about K state, but I mentioned that you have, you know, the big 12 insiders, big B. Brian Henley does a lot of good work with that as well. But you've been covering, not just K state, but the conference as a whole, a lot more over the last few years. So I'm interesting on your take on this. When we're sitting here in December and as the season's wrapping up, what do you think ultimately the biggest storyline for this path for this upcoming year for the conference and football is going to be. Honestly, that Utah was kind of right. I mean, I think they are the best team in the conference. I don't think it's just hype, but, you know, we're doing these big 12. Can't fall reports and I think the BYU one goes on Monday afternoon and. Look, BYU was caught off guard by how physical the conference was. So they think the Pactole teams will be too, because they were used to playing that. Brand of football, but Utah's physical. So I think they're going to fit in great. I think they're going to, you know, be at least 10 and two, if not 11 and one. Or I'm beaten playing for the conference title. Well, I hope that's not correct, but the more and more I look into it, I think you might be correct. Avery Johnson, the offense has had so much attention. There's so much hype. Offence is sexy, but over the last couple of weeks, the more and more I dive into things. I'm starting to think that this defense has the potential to be good, maybe even great. And when I try to project out the two deep, which is a futile exercise because there's always surprises, but we should be seeing it here in a couple, couple of days, if not next week. I've started to say that I think the entire two line could start in the big 12 and be, you know, at worst a middle of the pack defense. And I might, I might be a little, you know, fanboy on that, but I can't remember a time where the defense as a whole has had this much quality depth. Stretching across the entire defense. Am I putting my lavender glasses on or do I have that ride? And if so, when's the last time you saw this much depth on the defense? Never. I mean, honestly, this has always been the Achilles heel of Kansas State football is an inability to keep quality depth. Once an injury happens. That's exactly what happened in 2012. One injury freshman comes in, Baylor exposes it. And it all comes apart, but you're right. You know, I hadn't even thought about that. I like everyone that would be second level on the defensive line. I think there's incredible young linebackers on the second line. Maybe corner would be my spot where I don't quite see the depth yet that will develop because these guys are going to play and prove or not prove themselves and someone will. Safety is really deep. I mean, you could go to the number two is it safety and probably put a pretty good trio of guys out there. So yeah, that's a great point. And I do agree. I think the defense will be the heart and soul of this team only because the offense is going to make mistakes. It's going to be more of a higher risk type of offense. And I think the defense is more than up to the ability of a shootout starts at some point. That's a fear. And Avery might, you know, this offense has weapons. They might be scoring pretty quickly. Very complies in that. Then you kind of get into this back and forth that case. It typically doesn't like, but I think this defense is built for that. Well, and one of the things Chris climbing harped on last year at the defense was the lack of getting turnovers and takeaways. It sure sounds like it. And hey, maybe they're hyping themselves up in the media, but sure sounded like the secondary guys were puffing their chest out a bit about causing some turnovers and practice. Where do you stand on that? Are you buying into the hype of, Hey, you know, Marquis Siegel is going to set a single season record for interceptions and they're going to be punching balls out left and right or is it? Hey, there's a little bit of balance there. Where do you land on that? There's going to be a little bit of balance. Yeah, keep in mind. It's the defense pretty much knows what the plays are at this point in in any fall camp. So they're going to have an advantage there if they know what the exact route is. I do think this defense is focused on being more aggressive, more physical. I thought it was a part of the team last year that kind of lacked. They didn't have the dynamic defense event that is a game changer. The sacks were down. I think they're going to find one of those guys out of this three or four young guys. They have it defensive in that are going to get a lot of playing time. So I think this defense will be more dynamic and I had someone close to program say, just think that last year, how good the defense would have been a Marquis Siegel didn't drop so many interceptions. Well, he's not dropping them now. He's actually worked on his hands and he's a much more confident pass catcher. And I'm like, well, that that alone could be the difference because Marquis did a really good job of positioning themselves as a season went on and being in the right spot, but never quite finished it. I got to give him a lot of credit because I watched and listened and read just about everything that happened down at big 12 media days. He was asked about that quite frequently and it didn't seem like he shied away from it. It didn't seem like he kind of got stoned up as you think some athletes might when you call out something very specific that he wasn't great at. I think it's fair to say it was not great at it. That's what kind of makes me feel like. All right, he embraced those questions because I think even him himself and thinking, all right, not only am I going to catch these, but I'm going to make some highlight catches as well. Yeah, you're right. And that's, I think it's kind of a trademark of the kids that Chris Klimans bringing in. It's, you know, Carver Willis had the same kind of thing. You know, I was hard on him when he first started because he wasn't doing a very good job and he came to a press camera said, yeah, I was, I was awful. Those first three games I deserved it. I mean, so I think there's a sense of owning your reality and not trying to live in a false reality, but you have the mistakes in your life and the missteps are a part of the part of the process. And I can look back over my life and think, well, those mistakes actually were good. I learned a lot from them. And I think that's, you know, very knowledgeable or self aware of Marquis to be able to say, yeah, I didn't finish these plays last year and I got to do that. All right, final question before we get into the reason for the season, which is the blitz month predictions. When deciding to bring into Juan Rob Roberson for that backup quarterback job. When it happened for me, I pencil and I was like, all right, he's going to be the number two. And in the back of my head, I kind of wrote off Jacob Knuth. But once practicing the for fall camp started, I know I was hearing some things of, oh, hey, you know, maybe it's going to be a competition. I kind of brushed that off. And then sure enough, Connor Riley calls it the most legitimate quarterback battle that they've had since he's been here. What are you hearing with that battle for quarterback to because are they trying to motivate Roberson has canoe really elevated? How are you handicapping that battle? Well, I think it'll eventually be Roberson. He don't bring a guy in unless he's clearly beat out and make him third string. I don't see them doing that, but, you know, let's keep this in mind. They came out of spring football and realized we may not be as secure as we want to be in the backup position. They had some doubts about Jacob coming out of that. If he was ready to be the true number two. And also keep in mind, you need a number three nowadays. I mean, you go back two years, case they got to number three on the road at TCU. And, you know, that turnover was a huge part of that game. And so I think canoe took this as a challenge. So I would wonder if Roberson didn't come if canoe would be so far advanced, or if he needed this push because he has been really good in camp. Roberson just has some, you know, pure athletic things that I think might put him on the field. And also keep in mind he's trying to catch up and knowing the offense and Jacob canoe has a huge advantage. I would think if, if case it gets a big against Tennessee Martin, canoe will be the next guy up, but I think all three would play in that game. Well, hopefully we see that and we get to see both of them with our own eyes. Before we get Tim to go on the record with his blitz month predictions, guess what? Countdown to kickoff at Charlie Hussle has begun and today as we're recording this on the 19th. Or yesterday as you guys are listening, it's on the 20th. They just launched their Bill Snyder family stadium shirt with that famous sailor, Willie. It is one of my favorite Charlie Hussle t-shirts that they've launched since our partnership started two years ago. So get over there and grab it next week on Monday right at noon. We are going to launch our August t-shirt giveaway. So be on the lookout at Bosco's Boys and at Charlie Hussle for those details. Charlie Hussle vintage made fresh. All right, time for the blitz month predictions. And again, no matter what you pick here, we've had some folks who've tried to get creative. I make record of all these. I make record of all these. So don't get creative if you don't want to. Who's going to be the offensive MVP? That'll be Avery. I mean, this team's going to be successful. It's going to be Avery. You know, I might sneak up there. DJ Giddens might get some love because he's going to be the kind of heart and soul, but Avery is going to put a lightning bolt in everything. And I don't see how if K state successful, it's not Avery Johnson. And I always tell folks, I'm going to do a follow up on this question because I thought it was going to be obvious for Avery. When we're doing this next year, I might say, Hey, we already know Avery. You can't pick Avery after you pick someone else. But since he picked Avery and you mentioned DJ, I want to ask about him. I feel like he's setting himself up to be one of the most underrated K state football players of all time, partly in. He's coming right after deuce Vaughn, multi time all American. He's also in the era of the big 12 where in the past, he might last year have been a first team all big 12 running back, but we're in the era of the big 12 running back right now. So he's maybe not getting some of those accolades, 1500 yards from scrimmage, all those touchdowns. When you see his game and maybe the stats will come down with Dylan and a different type of run pass mix, you know, with Connor, Riley, Avery Johnson, et cetera, et cetera. But when you look at his game, I have a hard time thinking of a more complete every down type of back until maybe going back to Daniel Thomas. You know, is he going to go down amongst all time grates or is he going to be a victim of the circumstances at this position? Probably the victim of circumstances that the immediate comparison to deuce. But you're right. They don't have to take him off the field. He's not situational. That was probably the concern with him. Can he catch out of the backfield? You know, he said he's working on it, but I thought he was really good at it. So I think he has proven himself and, you know, let's be honest, at his size, he's going to be a better pass protector at times. So he's been an amazing eruption of talent. And it's beautiful to watch as a Kansas kid who grew up just down the road. A wonderful young man, if you can get him to talk. You know, he's turned him. Well, I often have that happen. I do go to the physical therapist for being overturned. So it's, he's just, he's such a cool kid. But I think now with Avery back there, defenses are going to be really distracted, particularly if Avery and Dylan are on the field or DJ. If you're a de coordinator, who's the first, second and third ones you're most threatened by? Well, DJ has the least speed. He's probably third, which is a silly choice because he's going to hurt you in a different way. And I think he's going to have a huge year because of the opportunities opened up by having those guys with him on the offense. Yeah. And in a different time in place, you know, a triple option of those three Kansas kids would have been making some old school Kansas high school coaches very happy and a lot of defensive coordinators having a lot of loss of sleep. I'll tell you that. Yep. I agree. We'll flip to the defensive side of the ball. Again, I've said this all year. I think deep down, I could make a case for maybe nine different guys here. I think we've had five or six picked here. So who are you going to go on the record for to be the defensive MVP? That's probably a man. I, I want to say Austin more, but there's just something about Markey Siegel's confidence and everything I'm hearing about him. I'll go with Siegel. I think there's going to be a lot of great players up front, but I think there's going to be such a deep rotation. Unless someone turns into Felix and, you know, just clearly, oh, we've got to keep him on the field. I think we're going to have a great deal rotation on the front three or four, depending on what alignment they're in. But I think Siegel will be out there 24/7. I think he's going to be, you know, just stuck out there. You know, one small who come off, catch some breath, but I think he's going to be out there a lot more than most players. This is completely off topic. Has it been really revealed who's going to be wearing the green dot for the defense? I think it's Austin or no, it hasn't. That's, that's a great question. We're going to press comments here pretty soon, although it's offense, I might still ask. They would know. I would hope hope they're paying attention to practice. I think it's Austin more, but, you know, in, in, you know, the NFL, it's almost always the Mike linebacker, but that seems to be up for grabs. So Austin more would be the presumed choice, but I figured I'd ask. We'll move on next. Who's going to be the newcomer of the year? We've said true freshman or transfer. No one said a true freshman yet. It probably wouldn't be smart, but I always add that information in case you're feeling extra bold this morning. I'll go with Riley Green. Did I get his name right? I'm so bad with names. Jordan Riley. Jordan Riley. Who's Riley Green? I don't know, man. I don't know. I'm not Jordan Riley. Well, time out. Is that Deuce Green? Did he find, you know, they shave his face, give him a new haircut? Is there a new walk on named Riley Green wearing 22 on defense? Scott, never get old. The brain just goes. And pretty soon you're calling your dog's dog. It's this bad. Yes, Jordan Riley, Ryman Nettly. Yeah, I've heard such great things about him. I love his energy. I think he's going to be a presence out there. I don't know how this combination of climate and his defensive coaches keep finding these these safeties every year. They seem to pull a safety out. You know, we saw it was stubble filled and you just got to the list. It's been constant. But he's the latest. And also, yes, Riley Green is a country artist. He will not be the MVP because I don't listen to his music and I have no idea why he popped into my head at this moment. But hi, Riley, I'm bigger fan of Jordan Riley. I love it. I love it. Who's going to be the breakout player? So this is a returning player who's yet to make a big impact at K-State. Hmm. Well, I'll probably go with Ryan Davis, a defensive end. I think I'm just going to generically say one of those DMs. They're all different. I thought for a long time it'd be cheating. And now we're hearing that he's kind of broken loose. It's going to be fun to watch. Because that's what, you know, as much as we talk about Avery and Dylan and all those things on offense, which, yeah, that's number one on my list. Number two on my list is clearly seeing these young defensive ends. So I think one of them is going to absolutely tear it up. I know, buddy, Wyatt said, you know, oh, we could play seven there. I can't think of a time where plenty of coaches have said some stuff like that. You know, he's not the first. He might be the first at selling the truth, though. I know what they did with last year's class is amazing. You throw in Toby, you know, now being there full time. Travis Bates dropped into their lap. He wanted to come to Kansas State and they weren't going to tell him no. It's just been incredible to watch that depth build up. I know that Matt and stuff will be and we'll start that first game and they'll probably start more than one. But I think as the season wears on, we're going to see more and more of these young guys just coming to life. And it's going to be a blast to watch. It really will be. All right. My favorite question to ask, what is going to be the pendulum game this season? What's going to swing it one way or the other? I just did a daily delivery on this and I picked the West Virginia game for non-traditional reasons. The lack of a road game earlier in the schedule that scares me, it's hard for me to pick a pendulum game like Oklahoma State at home. I feel like you should take care of that game. If you, you know, it may be if it's Oklahoma at their peak, you pick it, but I feel like K state should be Oklahoma State at home. I don't feel like I think that's just a, it's not going to give them more energy. It's just going to suck life out of them, I guess, but if they lose, but I'm stuck with West Virginia. I just feel like there's something about coming off that energy of the Colorado game. And I think there'll be a big national focus, no matter what Colorado is doing. Everyone loves the circus. And I think we'll see them, you know, be kind of a highlight game that Saturday, and then they got to go right back on the road back to altitude in Morgantown and a really improved team. But I think the greatest thing that they improved with wasn't just that they found a way to win. I think their confidence went through the ceiling. I don't think they were going into last year with confidence at all. Garrett Green offers some of that, but West Virginia scares me being on the road, because then you turn around and you come home and play Kansas. And it just seems like a game, Sam, which is the middle of two high profile games that could sneak up and get him. But I think at the end of the day, that's the pendulum game, but I also believe that going to Iowa State to close the season isn't as a bad scenario. I think I would say it's going to be good. I think that game is going to have meaning. And it's going to be a real challenge. Independent of the case state West Virginia game. Where do you land on West Virginia for this season? Because people seem to fall in like two camps. Hey, last year was almost all scheduled driven and they might struggle for a bowl game this year, or, hey, they might be Arlington contenders. Do you split the difference between that those two or do you fall into one of those camps? I'm not really going to buy into Arlington contenders yet. I think there's a lot of traffic in front of them their schedule is much more challenging. I think I think there are probably success measurement is higher than it should be. I think coming off that schedule last year, being able to go seven and five I think for a program that was on the verge of making it change would be good. I think particularly if they can steal one of those non conference games or both of them. I mean that they'll save your job you go to Penn State and when you'll be sitting on high for a while but yeah I think they're going to be closer to the middle of the pack this year. Just because of the ebbs and flows of how the conference scheduling is working. All right we'll get to the money questions where do you have case states regular season record. I'm very cautious. Screw cautious. I'm going to go 11 and one on this podcast I've done 10 and two on my own but I'm feeling edgy this morning my caffeine isn't kicked in. I'll go 11 and one don't ask me who they lose to but I think they do stumble and it might be I was stating the last game of the season. Oh that would be that would be disgusting. I'm just going to scoot right past that I will say for this next one and I've said it a couple times. I've played around with some scheduling or record hypotheticals and I've found scenarios given the ambiguity with big 12 tiebreaker records where I believe case it could be possibly left out going eight and one in conference play depending on what's going on. I think that's going to be a story across all of college football or tiebreaker tiebreaker rules and all that fun once again but you already said Utah is going to be in Arlington will case state be meeting them with that 11 and one record. I think so. I think that is the stupidest prediction I can make because it never goes as form but it also just seems so logical. Those two schools don't play each other they you know kind of live in their own domains for a while their own environments and I think it just makes a lot of sense that those will be the two that that survive. You look at ESPN's when they're they're game by game predictions there's a lot always in this conference or so many close matchups, even even on your home field to get challenged so I think that's going to be their big issue at Utah is just realizing this keeps coming and but I do think those two will be in Arlington it makes sense but this is a weird thing to say but I almost think if you're 11 and one or even 10 and two and get bumped out of the big 12 championship game. Are you better off not being there than losing to just try to sneak into the playoff. I don't know I don't I don't think the playoff committee is going to be real welcoming to big 12 at large beds but particularly if you're loving and want to get left out I think you're in the playoff no matter what happens in the championship game. Well, I am anti playoff and that might be a time for another podcast but it will be interesting I know it's going to dominate the entire college football landscape all season and I actually hate that. But it will be interesting to see how the committee changes things up now that 12 teams get in I think we're going to see. I think everyone tries to do the oh well if the playoff would have been in 2016 this is what the at largest would be. I think you can throw that out the table I think that they are going to change everything up now that's you know everything else matters but we'll wait and see. Next is Utah walking away in year one as big 12 champions are just K state grab their second doctor pepper big 12 championship in three years. You're really into supporting the advertisers. I love it. Well, I mean it's it's a fun you know our friends are friends and Lawrence you know they're mistakenly talking about going to Dallas and they don't get the vernacular with that with that specific game so you have to remind them hey if you if you want to sound cool you call it the doctor pepper and you're aiming to go to Arlington I'm trying to help them out with something. It's it's noble it really is but sometimes you just got a lot of beef Scott just let them be in the world they're going to be fine. I think he does when I do I think that would be an incredible matchup down there but I believe I think Avery is only going to get better as a season progresses. And I don't want anyone to think we're predicting that he's you know going to be perfect he's going to make mistakes he's he's a young quarterback and quarterbacks make mistakes even the great ones. So I but I do think by the end of the season this offense will be in full form and the defense will be where where it's at you know probably earlier in the year and I think Dave will win the big 12 title. I absolutely love it. We always end with kind of a more fun question that isn't directly related to case state and by God this year's question it better not somehow trickle down to case state but the final question is ever since I've been doing this because there's been an unexpected big time job. There's really shook K or not K state but the college football world to its core we've seen it happen Oklahoma a couple times Bob Steves, you know making sure he can shoehorn in his chosen successor. I think Bill probably looks back and thought man maybe I should have tried that. And then of course I'm running off to USC all sorts of crazy stuff over the last six years I've been doing this podcast. I'm not responsible to predict but if you had to what's going to be that job that opens up that no one sees coming that shake college football this winter. Okay so I knew you were going to ask this. I started looking around. And I came up with this one. If you're Ryan day and you lose to Michigan again with a different coach. He's going to be on you and I think Ryan day makes jump to the NFL. And off we go with with chaos and suing because that will have a similar trickle down that Kentucky did in basketball and just start wrecking programs along the way. But I think this will be an opportunity for Matt Campbell to make a jump up. I know we always predict it but I think this is what he's hanging on for but I don't think he'll get that job I think it'll be someone with a bigger name and maybe more recent success but yeah I think Ryan day. If he loses the Michigan he's going to feel a lot of heat and not much love and while he'll never get fired you know after what he's been doing. I think he'll decide I'm just going to go back to the NFL and enjoy life a little bit without college crazy college fans. I think that's an interesting one there's been a handful of people picked Ohio State. I was hoping less folks would because I'm not going to it's my show I'm not going to do my predictions until the last moment. And I was going to try to sneak Ohio State in there but that's been a popular one and I definitely could see it happening and I talked to my friends at a Cincinnati podcast well they're hoping he does get fired going eight and four or something like that and he his name is too tarnished to go to the NFL and then they make a move for Sadersfield throw him out and bring him Ryan day. So I know that's the pipe dream for our friends in Cincinnati so we'll see if they can sneak that one through the needle eye. Interesting. Yeah. Well that's all I have Tim. Tell all the boneheads everyone listening anything that you guys got going on over at go power cat on your YouTube page your YouTube pages sorry and then your own podcast feed as well. Well first of all boneheads I love you. I'm glad we mended fences with most of you. I think I'm sorry if I offended you go to go power cat.com. We got a lot of free coverage but also our YouTube channel is a big platform now for us is as Scott has said daily deliveries almost every day ironically on the day we're recording this there isn't one because I'll be doing a post press conference a little bit later. You know all of our podcasts are up there but we're having a lot of fun too over the big 12 insiders channels we get that established. And this will be our first full season going through. So it's going to be interesting to watch channel grow because it gets some traction Brian handling the Michael Bishop's left guard is is the host over there and just kicks ass and he was a big. I love big B and we try to figure out what's what's going to be good for both of us and this is what we came up with and he's just kicking butt with that. So go check out the big 12 insiders give us a follow their subscription that'd be great. But as for everything else on we go man I'm just stoked to cover K state sports not just football sports this season. So yeah I'm doing it without being on the Sunday night TV show so I've got an open canvas now since I've walked away from the drive which wasn't easy to do, but 18 years was probably enough. And yeah, I'm we got a new canvas in front of us and see what what piece of art emerges from it Scott McFarland. So I can't wait to see and since you mentioned, since you mentioned all of case it's words I want to give a shout out to your nephew Ethan who's getting ready to talk a lot of volleyball and I see his excitement on Twitter slash X. And I tell you what I'm pumped for that volleyball squad. They might be special and you know make sure everyone's falling at life fits make sure you're following nephew as well for a little bit of volleyball coverage as well. Yeah, Ethan came on to help us with you know just kind of adding some volleyball women's basketball because we're passionate about both of those. And his roles kind of everything I've given him he's like just okay I take care of that. And you know that's how you went over boss nephew or not. And I'm now regretting he hasn't been working with us for a few years but I think he's going to try his hand at shooting some video highlights on the sideline for football. But the way this kid is learning curve is I think he'll get pretty good at it he's he's having a blast and I'm really happy for him. And he's he probably had a steeper hill getting on staff and your average young person, because he was my nephew, and he's proven himself. So follow as are you folks that's all we have for this episode with Tim Fitzgerald on Blitz month I promise this time it will not be a full year before we get him back on.
