Tom & Vin look back at the win over Fulham and look ahead to the weekends trip to Brighton.

(upbeat music) - Welcome back to Hated Adored. Never ignored Manchester United, top of the table. That's what we were saying. A little bit after full time. It was, unfortunately, not to be the rest of the weekend. Other teams did score a few more goals, but Manchester United did what they had to do and start the season the right way. Start the season with a win against Fulham last season. We didn't beat Fulham, so we're three points better off than we were last season when you are looking at opposition. So it's great to see Manchester at a back in competitive football, but more importantly winning games and winning games that they should will sort of dissect the bones of the performance and the good and the bad of it. And obviously have a look ahead to the Brighton match as well. And as I said, the start of last week's episode, it's that time of the season when you can dream. Now, there's other teams who are top of the table with us top who won't be there. We might be one of those teams not there, but at the moment, we are. So why not enjoy it? There are questions. There are sort of points of concern. There is no doubt, but Manchester United were good. We're all good enough to beat Fulham. Many talking points as well. Joshua Zurgsi, Masrowi, Dalit. One or two sort of subpar performances as well, maybe, but all in all, I'm very happy Manchester United are back and winning football matches. Sometimes that doesn't happen. So when it happens, enjoy it. I've got Vin on the podcast with him again, to dissect everything as usual. But before we get into there and Vin, good to see you, but before, don't answer this question now, but it's that time of the week, a little bit of trivia. And the question to you and the listeners on this week's episode is when Sunderland visited Old Trafford on the 5th of November in 2011. I don't know, I've read out the date, but the date is there for me. But when Sunderland visited in 2011, Manchester United beat them one nil. Their manager was an X-red in Steve Bruce, which former United player scored the own goal to give Manchester United the win. So in 2011, in 2011, Sunderland visited Old Trafford, a former red scored an own goal for Sunderland, giving Manchester United the victory. So have a think about that one, and don't do let me know at the end of the episode. But Vin, Manchester United starting the season, Friday night, Saturday morning, Australian time, with a, well, get in, a really good performance or not, but a comprehensive one nil, if that makes sense in regards to as comprehensive as a one nil can be, in my opinion. May interest in order back when a football matches talks to me how your weekend was. - Oh, it was, thanks for having me, Tom. It was pretty good to see United chalk up three points, and that too in the opening day fixture. Even though we had won the last season's opening game fixture, we all know what was, what could have been the result and, you know, how much of the controversy there were regarding the penalty, but again, that was last season. Don't want to talk about it now. It was a good performance, and especially the way we were all predicting, oh, we'll be beating Fulham three nil and two nil. The chances were there, but we couldn't make use of those chances. We couldn't finish them properly. Otherwise, I could see a score line of three nil or four nil, or probably four one, in case if you're making it balanced for all shots on target hitting, getting a goal. I was looking at that as the score line, but who would have thought we are coming out with a one nil victory? And somewhere, I kind of agree to what our manager kind of said before the game, saying the players were not ready. It's not because of what's actually going on. It's another discussion of course, but it makes it more clear what he actually meant when he said players were not really ready for the game, or not really ready for the start of the Premier League. - Yeah, well, that's one of those in regards to, he said that nothing is right to say that, but when Aritan Haag said that it absolutely blew up, oh my God, he's making excuses already. A couple of days early after the Canadian Shield, Pep Guardiola said Manchester City aren't ready. Chelsea manager has said the same thing, and there is not a peep, and those managers are correct as well in saying that, but not a peep, but when Aritan Haag said it was getting his excuses ready, but I think you're right in regards to what we visibly saw on the field. Yeah, though the players weren't ready, especially sort of late on, while we did get the goal late on. I did think we did tire, and you did see the substitutions as well. So, and I think that's a natural thing, even if we were flying off the back of a treble of the first game of the season, you got to fade in the latter stages of the match. So, we'll get into that and sort of what that means in regards to team selection moving forward, but just on the performance before we get into one or two individuals. I said at the start in regards to felt quite comprehensive, but then I was sort of, you cast your mind back to what your emotions are through when the match is unfolding there, and you're sort of stressing you thinking, what's going to happen here? Oh my God, they're going to score. When they were two on one, he's Harry Maguire. The, oh my God, here we are, Deja Vu sort of thing. I went back and watched the match, and that's why I did get the term sort of comprehensive. It was quite comfortable. Now, obviously on another day, for a good score, and it changed the thing that is football, but I always put myself in sort of a rival shoes and opposite, or a neutral shoes. If you're watching that match, take our emotion and take our stress levels out of it. It was pretty comfortable. I think when we're watching a week, I picked the bones, oh my God, form could score here, this corner here, what they looked a bit shaky there, et cetera, but overall, form can't have any complaints. No, no, they weren't sort of hard done by it in terms of their reaction from the fans. I've seen Arsenal fans, Liverpool fans, Chelsea fans watched that match and say, yeah, man, you know, sort of pretty convincing start for an opening day, sort of fixture, just your thoughts on that performance. In regards to when we're watching that, I was quite stressed. In regards to, would you remember that two on one? Would you remember full and breaking through our midfield once or twice? I think my Sandra Martinez and Kazimira sort of dived in the two tackles, which left us a little bit exposed. But then I sort of, I take a step back and take a deep breath and realize, well, other clubs are doing that as well. I watched Ipswich against Liverpool, and if Switch didn't tear them apart, but really sort of put it to them in the first half. And I just think Liverpool walk off that field, and I watch that game, and I say Liverpool were very comfortable, easy to know when they played one field, and that at half time as Liverpool fans, which is probably the same emotion we had when we were watching live as United fans. So, just when you stand on how comfortable the game was. Say, by, like, keeping in mind, like if you are considering the first 10 or 15 minutes, we were jittery, right? Like we were all getting into the game. The players were trying to acknowledge that, okay, it's a big game finally, and everyone needs to play on that very time. But if we are looking at, as a, like, you know, a 10,000 feet high level perspective, I see that United had the better chances. They were much more confident than they had the intention, and they were chasing for the win, right? So, that's what I see the difference between United and full. Given the fact when I was watching the game, I didn't really feel it until or unless that goal from Zergsy went through. I was always under the pump. I was like, always wondering, oh, hope we don't concede it here, or, you know, hope we scored this particular short end. Of course, we will talk about the, that two versus one short between, the play between Rashford and Grenacio. But when we take a step back, like the way, when you revisit something, like you did, that makes things a bit more easier, given you already know what's the score line is, and you already know that a win is about to come, we didn't fluff our chances. So, that's kind of a bit of, you're taking your emotions away from the game at that point of time. Of course, you still support Manchester United, you still want them to win, but you are not stressed because it's not, it's not taking place live out there. So, if I take all those items out of consideration, and if I look at it as purely as a football neutral, I would have been a much happier football neutral, rather than a much happier United fan. But that's the way it is, right? Like those are more like an occupational hazard, or more like a, a, a, a, a hazard for a fan when you're watching something, where you really just follow the club day in and day out, the stress and the emotions needs to stick with it. And, and, and, and, even if we would have beaten Fulham to one, or three, two, we would still be saying, oh, we could have done better, that's, that's, that's the whole mindset of a football fan. But by the way we created the chances, the way we took the shots, the way we not conceded 20 shots on target, I see a massive improvement again too early. I see a good, good improvement from, from last season, but again, hey, it's just the first game of the season. So we can only see how, how it goes when we face the bigger teams, the more precise, incision-pass teams, and see whether we are still sticking to less than 10 shots at target for a game, or whether we are going to exceed those numbers all over again, just like last season. - Well, it's pretty much the main reason I did go back and watch the match, because I saw all the reactions from any of our fans, and it was, okay, it was good, but it was bad here, et cetera. And I think those sort of questions are valid trans, but also saw the reaction from the media and the rivals, and I was saying, you know, we're pretty good, and sort of, yeah, as you said, could have been true for a new one, I didn't really feel like that, but when I did go back and watch it, it definitely did have that feel. Now, there are one or two positives, I do want to discuss them, but before we do that, we will raise the one or two concerns and questions, and again, not in a real negative way, it wasn't a disaster sort of thing, but one of the questions that sort of did pop up, and we'll continue to pop up always last season, and always will this year, until he sort of begs the hat trick, this question will always sort of be there. And rightly so, in regards to the situation around Mason Mount, I just want your thoughts on his performance and sort of fallout of his performance in terms of the reaction, because when I was watching it in the first half, I was saying, what would say he's our best player, but I thought he was good, I was like, and what I saw from Mason Mount, and even sort of bits in the second half, I thought he contributed well to when even though he was off when the goal went in, I thought he contributed well, he had a good game. Then I see the reaction, and I think the reaction is sort of right at times in regards to when you do see an attack in play, it costs that amount, okay, what do you do on the ball, especially when our natural comparison of Mason Mount always sort of lingers towards Bruno Fernandez, and you see the difference, and you think, well, he can't get in over the team over Bruno Fernandez, so what is he gonna offer? And you don't have a 60 million, or however much he costs in the midfield just to do running, and just to press off, so you do need someone to do a little bit more. But in regards to Mason Mount's performance, I was watching that and thinking sort of where the managers had on thing. I liked what I saw from Mason Mount, I thought he did well for the team. Then I see the reaction online, I thought he was arguably, or sort of, it was written about him sort of being Manchester, not his worst player in the weak link, and I just thought there was a clear difference, and I'll get your opinion on it, but for me, there was a clear difference on what a manager sort of would value in Mason Mount's performance and what the fans, and as I said, in regards to what we demand a big money sign in that area of the pitch, we do want a little bit more, of course, but I think the fans sort of said, okay, he was the weak link, and I thought from the manager's point of view, I almost thought he'd be one of the stronger players in regards to when he's analysing the match at full time, so this is not a discussion in a ranch that he started against Brighton, or where does he fit in the team, or is it a good transfer business for anything, but just his performance against Fulham, what did you make of it, because a little bit up and down, I guess. - Yeah, he did an okay job, he did an okay job against Fulham, especially the first half I saw him, I saw him chasing doing the most presses for that particular half from our United team, he was doing well following the pressing philosophies of the manager and was working well with Bruno and Kobe Manu when Fulham had the ball and he was pressing it, but again, I would love to see more influence of him on the game rather than being just as a player who's just playing for the sake of totaling the lemon player count in the field, and especially with that fee spade and everything, you need that player to pull up his socks and play with utmost conviction and at most confidence at that level. - And from a manager's and also from a fans perspective, in case if Huyland or in case if Zurgse would have started the game, I don't think it was Mason Mounds's place that will still be on the team. I'm quite sure he would be the one going off to accommodate Huyland or Zurgse. So I think it's more like a temporary fix before we either get the striker back so that Bruno can play a bit deep or it might be another kind of a fix where we are not going to start Joshua Zurgse until Huyland is nearing to fitness so that we can gamble on having only one striker available and who knows, we probably go ahead and sign a midfielder and put him there and play Kobe Manu a bit up, Kobe Manu a bit up so that, so that it validates how the pressing philosophies of the manager wants to be enforced. But I wouldn't call it as a great disappointment on Mason Mounds performance, but it was just okay. I wouldn't be first about it or anything. It was more like if I go back, I know a lot of people will hate it. It's more like going back in time when we see a Jesse Lingard or someone who was doing most of the work of the ball when the ball was not at their feet when the ball was with a position, just pressing them, pressing them, annoying them, tiring them off, creating spaces. That's what Mason Mounds was doing, but I'm sure a player of that capability can do more than just that. And that's what we've been all waiting to see. And hopefully we see it sometime this year. - Yeah, definitely. Well, it's interesting in regards to the way we evaluate performances as fans and as the media in regards to, he did have a big chance and if he scores that, if it goes under the goalkeeper's legs and we win one nil, we're talking about a great performance by Mason Mounds and he keeps his spot over Bruno Fernandez sort of thing, but the goalkeeper saved it. I think it went out for a corner, I think. And yeah, then you're looking at the performance, not quite doing enough. And yeah, I do think when the striker situation has a little bit more sort of clarity fitness-wise, if that is the sort of team, every 10 hargies lining up, I think Mason Mounds is the one who first moves out. I would potentially be looking at maybe Marcus Rachael. We might touch on that one. We look ahead to the Brighton match. But I do think we're going to get in the Josh Rachael now. I think he comes in and I think Mason Mounds is the one to drop out. And I think that drops Bruno a little bit deeper, which gets him even more involved, which I do think will make us a little bit stronger. Going forward defensively, that'll be up for interpretation, especially as a team like Brighton, who moved the ball very well. But on Josh Rachael, Dutch strikers, I made this. So I thought about this before the game, but I've seen everyone sort of popping up on social media as well in regards to a Dutch striker, debut at Old Trafford, debut against Fulham, winner at the Stratford end. Rude Vennistroy was on the bench and Rude Vennistroy did do that against Fulham in 2001. I think we'll win every time that it was that long ago. But Rude Vennistroy did do that. He was on the bench this time when Josh Rachael Zurk has done it. Now, we were all calling for him to start. We'll call him for him to start with no knowledge of what he's like. We'd run this on YouTube. Sort of clips and said, we need a striker. Let's put him in area 10 harg. Was far more patient than us fans and sort of put him on late on in the second half. And look, I don't want to say it's a substitute that changed the game. Ultimately, it's a substitute that won the game. So you could definitely say that. But in regards to, I thought he did well when he came on, added a little bit of a different dynamic. And sort of, he did what it said on the tin and everything we've heard about him. He's a big physical stroke. He likes to drop in deep, link up play and then get in the box. And the goal was a textbook case of that. In regards to came about the ball of Bruno Fernandez from memory, plays it out wide to Kazmiro, Kazmiro, and then puts the cross in edge. He thought Scott will dominate, got on the end of it until he saw the replay and it was a nice little finish by Xerxes, getting his studs onto the ball. So whether you want to discuss his performance, Finn, or the moment, or just what it feels like, or what it would feel like for the debut time to come on and score the winner in front of the Stratford End and sort of the positives that can potentially have on his career at Old Trafford. Just your thoughts when that went in. And ultimately, we get the evidence 10 minutes later that it's a winning goal. Yeah, I kind of always didn't want Xerxes to start this game against Fulham, given it's the first game off the Premier League. We were the opening fixture for this entire season, which hasn't happened for quite a while, if I can remember. And to see Bruno play false nine, and of course, he failed to finish those chances. And Xerxes came over as the knight in shining armor and the one thing, apart from the finish, the one thing I like about Xerxes is like how effortlessly he drops into the midfield, just gets that ball casually, just like a midfielder. He doesn't, his body structure and how he runs around, it's more like a midfielder than as a striker. I don't know if I'm looking too much into it, but he has a weird sort of, because he's such a big guy, he moves kind of, I wouldn't say gracefully, but has a fluidity to his movement, which is sort of more sort of people with sort of that lower centre of gravity? No, I don't know, he just looks a little weird in a bad way, just the movement doesn't suit the body shape. Absolutely. And effortlessly, he just wolds us into, and goes into the box, like the position what Eric Tanhark's been talking about what he actually wants from his strikers, to be in the box when that final ball is being played. And like eight out of ten out there, would I have thought like, "Oh, it's Scott McTominay's goal." Like until I saw the replay, I actually thought it was Scott's goal, why is this guy celebrating? But then that's how it is, right? You don't expect the striker, or you didn't expect that player to be in that position, or it's been such a long time since we saw a striker in that position for United, who's at the right place at the right time, when a proper service is being given to him, he is right there and slotting the ball into the goal net. And it was a relief to be honest, because I don't know whether it's the reception with Octas, or it's the weird way how the stadium microphones were placed. I found the entire crowd a bit silent for most of the times, but then when the goal went in, the crowd erupted. And again, another debut striker, another debut for the striker, who scored in the first game at home. So looking forward to it, but hopefully it is going to last for a long time. And given he is one of the most under the radar signings United have made this season, which kind of helps the young player as well. Not a big money signing, but a signing has something to prove, have this massive potential in him being coached by one of the greatest finishes of all time. So it's going to be an interesting trajectory for him. And I just hope it's not just one of the only or few men of the match awards that he would have received or player of the match awards he received after the game. I expect more to come from him. And yeah, like one final thing, what I made perum did add on the chat was, he did have this weird finishing or I don't know, whether it's grace or whether it's the poise, like Dimitar Burbato. So I'm not sure if it's just one off, but then I watched some of his goals for Bolugna. And I kind of feel the same, the power, but with grace. So looking forward to more performances of Josh, like for United and hopefully many more goals and many more trophies to come his way. - When you talk about sort of not the huge money signing, the one in my opinion, sort of media wise, has gone under the radar. He was arguably the highlight of the match for me. Obviously, Xerxes goal gets the man of the match and he's obviously the highlight, but the performance fall back. I thought he was extremely good, did difficult situation for him to come in in terms of his performances. What in terms of lack of sort of game time at Old Trafford and Manchester United and training, but he came in and I thought was man of the match. Now, when you fall back as a man of match performance, you think it wasn't a great sort of time for that team, but it was an attacking aspect, which I was happy with his performance. He did make a very good block as well defensively and I think one or two are very important interceptions. So defensively, he definitely did his job extremely well, but just in terms of him playing out for him, but not so much in the attacking third in terms of overlapping and bombing on and getting crosses into the box, but just his sort of contribution in the build-up play, playing out with O'Nana, playing out with Harry Maguire, playing in the midfield, linking up with Kobe Maynard and Kazemiro as well. For me, Mosrowi was the man of the match now. We'll get into the right match in a little bit and sort of the issues we have had dealing with some bright and players in wide areas, especially with the departure of Aaron Wambesaucker and how that does look. But just your thoughts on Mosrowi's performance because yeah, Xerxes gets the headlines in rightly so, but in my opinion, Mosrowi for me, now was made on match by a clear distance. - Yeah, I kind of agree to it. Till that goal went in, it was, Mosrowi's name probably etched in everyone's mind to be winning the men of the match award, given how he effortlessly slotted into the score. Of course, it's still game one. We just lost Aaron Wambesaucker, but he slotted into the jigsaw as effortlessly. It feels like he's been playing for United for a long time. - I do understand he's played with most of the players out there in the past, but it was pretty good to, and refreshing to see tackles flying and also a right bag that's making attacking. I remember like two or three minutes into the game and he's already near the forward line, near the final third, trying to chase a ball. So it's refreshing to see that, but again, it needs to be a bit more mindful, which will eventually come with proper training and proper analysis on how to target certain players of the opposition, because if, worst case, if something like that's being done against Liverpool, I'm quite sure we would be punished quite easily. So I wouldn't be jumping into conclusions there, but I'm quite sure we have a good player with us who can effortlessly slot into the right bag or into the left-back positions as per convenience and as we need it. And like I said, in our pre-mashed review, I wanted him to start at right back and sort of left back given the right back have some really, you know, the right finger, I'm sorry, the left finger for Fulham had some really good players in the past and I wanted him to take the game toe-to-toe against him and that's what he did. And it was a lovely bit of camaraderie also to see him and Dalit celebrating together after the final whistle. And I'm quite sure we'll be seeing of many more of those to come in the next few seasons or in the next few games for the season as well. So fingers crossed, hoping he stays fit and hoping he delivers what he's been signed for. And hopefully we don't have to sign another right back again for the next couple of years. Here we mentioned Dalit and Mojo and we'll touch on those two when it comes to sort of preview in the Brighton match in a little bit. But in regards to Dalit coming in, just quickly on this performance that I thought the center of Martinez wasn't quite out. I thought he had quite a poor game. Probably the standout Santa Becca, which he can't say too sort of loudly on social media or we'll get shot down, but I thought Harry Maguire sort of, not in a bad way, but sort of outshon the center of Martinez with Harry Maguire had a very good game. We also do remember that two V one situation where he did save us, but also just his general performance. I thought Harry Maguire was very good. However, he was one who was subbed, who was holding it. Looked like he's calf potentially. Harry Tenhark said it was just a precaution. But if that is the case and Matay is ready to go, you would assume Dalit will be lining up next to Mazzarelli and Martinez. And I don't think any of us will lose any sleep over. I think it's what we do want to see. Well, then Leni Yoro is still out. So yeah, they're deleting Mazzarelli. They're both signed on the same day. Both of the photos they're both going to dinner. They're both starting their Manchester. They're starting out a Korean with a clean sheet and a victory. So that is good. Hopefully they are enjoying their time in Manchester. Now, before we do sort of move on to the bright match and one little bit of transfer news, I do want to pick your brain about. Is there anything quickly around the grounds from the premier this week that was no real upset? But usually on opening day, there's an upset. Although this team must, I wasn't expecting that pretty much around the grounds. If you're a betting man, I think all the favourites pretty much got up. So there was any talking points, whether it be a result performance player from one of our rivals that sort of does bring to mind. - The one thing that comes to mind was as a goal last night was not given. That was shocking. That was shocking. And with all the talks of, hey, we are going through an evolution of how refereeing needs to be done and the tactics and technology that are being used. That was absolutely disgraceful. I feel for the kid, given it was a really a wonderful shot at the goal. And yeah, that was one thing. And of course, I wouldn't call Chelsea as favourites, but it was always good to see Holland, coming up with the goods in action. I know we are a United podcast, but again, we need to pay credit. Where it's due, given it was a fantastic goal from Ireland. - I won't give him credit, well, where I will sort of take a little bit of joy to go around and during the year. - Exactly. - So what was he talking about, how important that was only going to come back to mind? I thought, I didn't think you'd make an appearance this one. I thought stuff that he won't even show his face. Fair play, you can show up, but I'll be a holler. Didn't have the last one. - Yeah, remember, I remember a few weeks ago, you were saying like after the song became a bit viral, you said like, okay, yeah, Holland's gonna score a hat trick in the first game. And it was nearly nearly that's the case. And that's why I kind of liked it. Like, you know, a man who's speaking in form of actions and not just by words. So that was good to see. But regarding upsets, Tottenham is still playing tonight. So you never know, right? Like there is still one upset and I wouldn't be surprised if it's Tottenham who's losing the game tonight. So my fantasy Premier League will be unhappy, but again, yeah, if you want an upset, always look at Tottenham. - I would love that. However, you just mentioned fantasy Premier League. My one hope in regarding getting an acceptable score this week is Dominic Salenki. I've got Salenki up front. So I'm not sure what I did once in this Tottenham match, but quickly before we move on to Brighton, the last couple of minutes while the podcast, Scott will dominate. It does look like Fulham have come back in for another bit. Now what's Manchester United's likelihood of accepting that at the moment. I'm not sure, but it looks like Fulham's interest is still definitely much there. The other reports do suggest that Scott and Tottenham has a great personal terms with Napoli, but I think Napoli may be a little bit off in regards to their negotiations with the actual club. Just your hunch on what happens with Scott and Tottenham does he stay, does he go to Fulham or does he go to Napoli if those are your three options on the table? - I would love him to stay, but given do we need the funds? Unfortunately, like we discussed, he might be one of the valued players to leave the club, given he is also coming towards the end of this contract and also touching the 28, 29, 30 age group, sorry. So I do see him moving, but I would love to see him play for Fulham, given how I like, as the game went on, I felt like, oh, Scott and Tottenham would be like pretty much comfortable over here, playing right next to Andres Perrera or playing right up front next to, what is, I think Alex Evope, he was the one who was playing in the central attacking midfield position. So I felt like he could do a great job over there and also give them an attack, another dimension in attack when he can come over as a striker or else, even start as a striker for Fulham, given the goal draw they went through last season. So Fulham is, yes, I don't have to, I don't have to subscribe for another service provider to see how the Scotsman is performing, because if he goes to Napoli, I'm quite sure out of sight, out of mind, we will be tracking his performances, but I'm not sure how much we'll be seeing it day in and day out. I would say Fulham might be a better bet given close to Scotland in England. So everything fits. So that will be the case, but Fulham has to stock up 23, 24 million for him. I think they have went with a fee of 21.5 million, the last I saw on the internet. So I'm not sure how much truth is it to that particular piece of information? - Yeah, look, I think you might actually do quite well at Fulham, and look, I don't know where I say, I do think it happens, I went with that before, more Napoli. I'm not quite sure, but I do think Scotland Nominee does lead in regards to bringing those funds in. As I said, I do think you do well at Fulham, so I would like that. Now Manchester United have that sort of potential hurdle or potential sort of hiccup of Scotland Nominee scoring it, I'll trap it out of the way. They can get that business done, but from a personal level, I do think that it moved in Napoli would also be good for Scotland Nominee in regards to a lot of players, what, when they retire, they look at sort of one regret they have, and they say, I wish I moved overseas, so maybe for an experience for Scotland Nominee, maybe moved to Serie A is potentially a good one, so I'm happy with whatever happens there now that Manchester United aren't on the receiving end of the Scotland Nominee winner at Old Trafford, but we'll move ahead to Brighton to quickly wrap up. My first discussion point there is in and around Matoma. Just now, Brighton didn't get a win three-nil at Everton, I think that's more down to Everton, and Everton issues, and I think if you did see the highlights there, Everton had one or two chances, I don't think it was a case of Brighton, we're absolutely brilliant, but we do know what Brighton do when Manchester United are in town. They give the board of Matoma, and Matoma just runs absolutely right. Now we do have a little bit of a counter-punch to that, and we put Aaron Wanda-Sarca over there, and Aaron Wanda-Sarca deals with it quite well. He's unfortunately playing D's football down in London now, so that is not the case. Mazzurawi and Delo will have their hands full, depends how we do line up. Just your thoughts going into this Brighton match, because last time we'll there, we beat them. We beat them later on in the season. Diego Delo actually scored a goal from memory, it was only a couple of months ago, but I do think Diego Delo scored a goal away at Brighton. And it's just one of those ones which gets you nervous as a Manchester United fan, but we're often winning star to just your thoughts ahead of that potential issue at right or left back coming into this Brighton match. - So yeah, I might probably switch Diego Delo on the right back and put Mazzurawi on the left. Given we need to hunt for at least not losing all the three points then on a trip to Brighton, given we have lost four games, sort of the last five, we played against Brighton. So it's gonna be interesting to see how we do it. I'm quite sure there is going to be a change in tactics on how we play. I don't expect Eric Tanhark to have any passengers in the game, so I'm quite sure a decision will be made on the starting lineup. There will be a good amount of change, especially in the attack or else in the midfield. Or in both areas. - But is that where it goes to you? In regards to what we mentioned at the start, do you think that obviously Harrimagua is a situation at the back or does Delo come in for that? You and Ashumi if Harrimagua is not fit, that is the case. But in regards to what we mentioned at the start, Mason Mount drops out, Josh Roserks, he comes in. - Yeah, Mason Mount Roserks, Josh Roserks, he come in. I might give Rashwood another chance before-- - That's generous, I agree. I agree, I think that happens. If I was doing it, Xerxes comes in for Mount, and I'd also bring Ganacho in for Rashwood. - Yeah, absolutely. I wouldn't take Rashwood right away off because that's gonna put a huge dent in his confidence. And given no one is going for him, I think it's better to give him confidence by playing some minutes. And if he's really bad, then sub him off and bring Ganacho on. Or you never know, probably he might, Tanhark might start with Ganacho and bring Amat on. You never know because-- - Actually, I think that's cool. - Okay, yeah. - Probably more likely that. Don't you see if I was betting, man? I think that's quite a likely situation. - Yeah, absolutely. So that's where I'm looking at. But yeah, our defense needs to be more solid given what you've already mentioned about Metoma. And yeah, Dalit and Lissandra Martinez against Danny Welbeck and Joe Pedro would be pretty interesting to watch. But yeah, looking forward to it. Hope we get as much points as possible from that away trip. - Well, I hope of three, because we did get three there last year. And that's the way I sort of really do sort of monitor progression in regards to what was the result last year. Did we match it or better it? And yeah, well, we won there last year. So I have to keep that up. And when again, we're already better off beating full, which we didn't do last year. So fingers crossed that does continue. And look, it's a 9.30 game here in Sydney. I see it in Sydney in the main chest, not a supporters club. A rare 9.30 PM kickoff. So we will be filling the pub at Scruffy Murphy. Scruffy Murphy is in the middle of Sydney. If you are at Sydney, feel free to come down. It will be packed. And yeah, have to take advantage of these 9.30 kick-offs because they don't come around often. And in a couple of months, there'll be nothing but Monday morning 3 AM game. So we will definitely take advantage of that. And if you come down and have a chat, we'll put on the podcast as well. Very much looking forward to that. And yeah, no shortage of talking points whenever. And it's always better when, let's say, worst case scenario happens in Manchester United lose. It's far better when you're out having a drink with a fellow Reds rather than sort of smashing your keyboard at home, taking it out on everyone. But I've been an absolute pleasure to jump. And I hopefully see you later on this week. And hopefully at the pub as well. But I'll go back to you then quickly to wrap up in regards to remembering the start of that podcast where I did ask the trivia question in regards to Sunderland. When Sunderland visited Old Trafford in 2011, a former Manchester player scored an own goal given United a 1-0 victory. Do you know who the former man United player was on that day? Is it Cameron Richardson? Not a bad shout. He was there. My first shout from memory was actually going to be John O'Shade, but would be both wrong. The correct answer is Wes Brown. Oh, yeah. Yeah, Wes Brown also had a short-- Well, thunderly. He had a short stem at Sunderland there. Half Lady of Manchester United. I did love Wes Brown. So I do want to bring that up. But I thought it was a good little question. But I did absolutely love Wes Brown. And I could have been one of the greatest defenders that Manchester United, if not for injury. But do go and win everything. So they're definitely hell of a career. But maybe we can discuss Wes Brown's career in a little bit more detail later on in a separate podcast. But hopefully you did get that one. Hopefully we enjoy the podcast. Make sure you do leave a like, review, or write in whatever your podcast app does allow. Enjoy your week at Manchester United at the top of the table and haven't ruined our week. So I definitely much enjoy that. And fingers crossed, Manchester United can kick on and get the win at Brighton this weekend. Until then, have a good one. And we'll chat to you soon. Cheers.
