Obituaries for Tuesday, August 27, 2 announcements from Fair Funeral Home. Carol Lauter Ellis, 84 of Edin, died August 23, graveside services are tomorrow at 11, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, visitation at 10. She was born in Hopewell, graduated from Air High School in Massachusetts in 1958, received an associate degree from Rockingham Community College, was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and Readsville, and she worked as a file clerk with the Board of Elections for several years. Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Donnelle Ellis of the home, son John Connet III in April of Winston-Salem, bishop daughter Kim Bennett and Lane of Fort Myers, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Richard Delma Stump, 81 of Edin, died August 25, funeral services are Thursday at 2 at Edin Church of God of Prophecy, visitation tomorrow 5 till 7, burial at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens with the Rockingham County Veterans Honor Guard performing. He was born in Roanoke, served in the Army National Guard, was a lifetime member of Edin Church of God of Prophecy, and had attended Kingdom Point Church of God for the past 4 years. He worked as a truck driver for Lasko Bathware, retiring after 57 years. He volunteered regularly as part of God's pit crew, surviving our wife Margaret Stump of the home, son Richard Rickey, Brian Stump and Tina of Edin, daughters Angela Peters and Kevin of Greensboro and Wendy Burgess and Jeff of Edin, also brother Curtis Stump of Edin, sisters Julia Bradford of Edin, Diane Brady of Selma, Judy Johnson of High Point and Sharon Farmer of Edin, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and his cat, Pretty Girl. Donations may be made to Edin Church of God of Prophecy or Kingdom Point Church of God. Two announcements from Perry Spencer Funeral Homes. Arrangements for Mary Dalton, 77 of May at End, are incomplete in Madison. Bishop David Eugene Adams, 77 of Greensboro, died August 23rd. The family will receive Friends Friday at 1.30 in Eden. Memorial Services at 2, with internment at Star Bethlehem, way of the Cross Church Cemetery, Cascade. [BLANK_AUDIO]
