Beacon Update - 28th August 2024
Hi everyone, it's Helen from Beacon here with your weekly update and I am starting this week with some really exciting news. We are delighted to announce that the Beacon Center now has in post lockers on site. Whether you're picking up parcels or sending them off, our new lockers make it easier and more convenient for you to manage your deliveries while supporting our community. Located just outside our main entrance, the lockers are available 24/7, providing a safe, secure and accessible option for everyone. And while you're here, why not make the most of your visit? You can pop into our charity shop to find some hidden treasures, enjoy a delicious coffee at the lighthouse, or treat yourself to a haircut or massage at Bed 62 and Beauty by Claire. Every visit and purchase helps us continue our mission of empowering people with visual impairments. We can't wait to welcome you. Now, we'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who visited our Wednesfield clearance shop on its first day of opening last week. We truly appreciate your support. If you missed out and you want to grab a bargain if you own, well, come and find us on Wednesfield's High Street. Well, where for visit? I can tell you haven't been there myself. Now, next this week, our beacon members have been getting into the Olympic spirit by creating their own medals. And let's just say we have a room full of champions. Every one of our members is a winner in our eyes. Check out our Olympic themed display. It showcases their amazing creations and gold medal where the effort they've put in at our centre. All I can say is go team beacon. Right. Last this week, beacon sight loss advisors dealt with nearly 600 referrals from people seeking support to maintain their independence last year.
