(upbeat music) - Good morning, Chicago. And welcome in to the Captain J. Hood Morning Show on ESPN 1000. And we're streaming on the ESPN Chicago app with David Kaplan, Jonathan Hood with you. We've got Shay, we've got J. Moore, we've got you. Here on this three hour ride on this Tuesday morning, here's hoping that you're gonna have a great day. 3-1-2-3-2-3-7-7-6 is our telephone number. Talking to you about the Bears as a hard knocks Tuesday of course, 'cause hard knocks on the Bears. They'll be on HBO Max's tonight. And of course, Cap and I will review that tomorrow. But Caleb Williams got a chance to speak to Waddle and Sylvie yesterday in a wide ranging conversation, Cap. I thought it was really good for QB1 for the Bears. - Yeah, it was really well done. I really enjoyed listening to it yesterday, streaming it, hanging out in Vegas, I'm listening to that. Again, I said this to you earlier. I thought they did a really good job of getting him to go places that in the four billion interviews this guy does, he hadn't really gone to because he's a human being. He's a really good guy. Friends of mine saw him at Parking playing miniature golf. And they were like, what a nice guy. Can I take a picture? - Of course, they said he was, he is reveling in being the face of football in this town. - He's gonna love this city because it's not the hustle bustle of Los Angeles in Orange County where TMZ's in the bushes. (humming) Where's he? He's going to this restaurant. - Right. - This is a Midwestern town. - Exactly. - It is. We'll see you at the jewel. We'll just take a picture and just keep moving. - And there will be times that he throws a ill-advised pick six which happens to everybody or has a bad game to be, you know, goofballs. - Colby, we should have kept Justin. - That's fine. - He just lets all that roll off his back and just keep getting better. Just keep developing. - Cana Williams of Wildland Sylvie, the biggest adjustment from going from college to the pros. - Yeah, I think the biggest adjustment is really is just the, I mean, the 15 to 20 word plays. - Yeah. - So obviously, you know, I was in a system where I handled a lot of communication. I handled all the communication. It was just a different system of doing it. It was hand signals and then talking to the offensive line talking to the back and hand signals to the wide receivers. This time we're in a huddle. So, I mean, if hand signals could translate to the words, I mean, I don't think the, you know, it'd be far off, but actually having to say 15 word plays or 12 word plays. - Yeah. - 20 word plays and things like that with alerts and having, you know, the reasons on why we're alerting and all of that. And then also the checks and also all the protections. I think the biggest thing was definitely the words in huddle. - Shay, you know what got Chris Simms out of the league? Is that camp with John Gruden? I know that that's floating around on social every now and then where Gruden sticks his beak and there it goes. All right, and he gives like this 20 second call. Eight eggs, bacon on two, three, four block, you know, building to, and it's just like so complicated. And Chris had to do it. Chris Simms like, all right, here we go. And he kept screwing it up. And John is like, that's not what I said. And he goes through it again. And just this is the John Gruden vacation of the NFL. Hey man, just give me the simple play. Is there an audible in there? Yes, but it just all of this XYZ Zebra elephant tall building on three nonsense. And so he said, the adjustment is like, I gotta get all that out before the clock goes to zero and stack the ball and get everybody lined up. - And look and count all the defenders and go. - Oh God, we're blocking five out of six. Like Justin missed that, remember? - Yes. - Oh God, I didn't see that guy was on block. - That guy Chris Simms out of the league. Just like, I can't, he kept screwing it up, Cap. I'm gonna send that to you. Well, just like, I can't, I don't know all this verbiage, but can I just say like, HUD on three, can we just do that? - Not the other fell, it's like so. - That's an adjustment for Caleb. All the stuff that we talked about in cap, the adjustment for Caleb Williams to go from college to pro was not looking at a placard. And it's like, okay, I'll take the Fred Flintstone play or just hand signals. Nope, nope. You gotta call the play and have command in the huddle. - What was the grudent play with Andrew Luck? Spider to wide banana. - Yes. - That's the favorite play. - Spider to wide. - Andrew, I know you love to run Spider to wide banana. - Right, funny. - On three. - That's it. And again, it's, he talked about the cadence, the inflection. Like, one thing that Mitchell Trubisky was really good at was his inflection, getting you to jump off side. He just wasn't good at the other stuff. But learning that, Aaron Rodgers has talked about, that takes time to learn. You know what just come up with that? But, he said you gotta learn how to do it. It's super cool. - It's good though, 'cause you know, Brady was worried that Iberflus and Waldrum are gonna dumb down the playbook for Caleb. I'm glad he's learning 15 word plays. - Oh, you know what, go home and go back to bed. You were better than that. - What do you mean? - He ain't firing on Tom Brady. Guy Jenny reflected in front of Tom Brady for years. Now Tom speaks the truth and shade, unlike it. 'Cause he's a young man. - I just think he's wrong. - Except he's not. - He's not. - We're gonna do last week's show now. We're gonna do that. We're doing this today. - He started it. - I understand it. You gotta throw the audience by the way, the hard rock casino asking whether or not the three of us or the four of us are okay. Tom at the Tom Brady thing, did you get that too? - No. - People asking. - Oh yeah, tons. - People asking like, are you guys okay? Because I heard the Tom Brady segment, that didn't sound. I said this is what we'd argue about at the bar except we don't have drinks in front of us. - You're right. - Okay, 'cause I was wondering, 'cause that was pretty, so clearly that resonated with the audience. When people are asking, are we just standing up here because we're required to, or are we okay? Are we getting along? - That we did our job. - Yeah. - I got a lot, maybe, I got a lot of that when I was standing next to you at the hard rock casino. - There you go. - Northern Indiana. - And Gary, as we go to the phone lines, I talk to you, 312-332-ESP, that's our phone number. By the way, we gotta thank. I said it yesterday, but we should thank our partners and listeners from coming out to our signature event on Sunday. - It was awesome, absolutely awesome. - Love talking to the fans. - I really liked the setup that the station, they were, each show had their own booth. - Mm-hmm. - It was awesome, man. Taking pictures and hanging out and talking football. Oh, by the way. - And Jay Moore is a star, by the way. - Hold on. - He was the reason why. - Hang on. - Thank you, Jay Moore. I promised I would do this, you were with me for this and one of our finalists is, where did he tell us he was headed after football fest? - He was going to get engaged. - That is correct. And I said, okay, if she says yes, send me a picture or two and I'll give you a shout out on the show. So, Toowone Dixon. Hey, Cap, my name's Toowone. I met you at the football fest with hoodie on Sunday. I told you I was proposing to my girlfriend later that afternoon. You said send me pictures and you sent us congratulations. My fiance's name is Deandra. Thank you. She said yes. - Thank God. - How cool is that? - Thank God. - There he is, down on one knee. She's got her hand on her mouth like, oh my God. Yes, people are clapping at the restaurant. Super cool. So, Toowone and Deandra, congratulations. Football Fest to go get engaged. That's in that it was priorities, right? - Toowone, of course, before he was going to put that knee down, he said, - Excuse me, I just say it in all of it. Excuse me, I just say it in all of my eyes. - But then he cleared it out and he was fine. - Take that, Tom. - So, there you have it. There you have it. Congratulations to the lovely couple. - Yes. - I asked, I said, are you sure she's going to say yes? - And he said, oh yeah, I got, you know, he said, Jay Moore, he goes, oh yeah, I got it locked in. - Oh. - Then he was pretty confident. - Yes. - No problems at all. - Yes. - Super cool. - 3-1-2-3-3-2-E-S-P-N-3-2-3-7. 7-6 is our telephone number. - Never know what's going to happen. - We know that we want, man. - Almost knocked two old men down in suits. - Why? - It's like, it's not a real football. He's like running around like he's OJ with a football. - Correct. - See, doing. - Correct. - Two gentlemen trying to get to City Hall, representing some right with their briefcases with the handle. You can tell their lawyers, and it's Jackaloo just running around with his bag like he's got a football. - What the hell? - Wow. Madison, Wisconsin, listening on the ESPN Chicago out here's Dimitri on Capitol J had Dimitri. How are you? - Cat, Jay Moore, how y'all doing, man? - What's up, Dimitri? How we doing, man? - I'm doing good, man. I'm doing good. You know, no surprise to me that Jay Moore was the star of the football fair, everybody loves Jay Moore. - Jay Moore is the king, man. - Yeah, he's the goat. He's the goat. - He is the goat. - I wanna address a couple of things. One, something I talked about in the seven o'clock hour, 'cause I'm actually, I am going, I think I told you all this before, I'm going to week one. I saw just field, I just don't see anybody on that team that could bang with us, man. I know Shea loves a male boy, but I don't think he can, I don't really think he got none for us. I'm not scared of Pollard at all. And without Hopkins, I think this, I think the passing game will be a little one dimensional. I think we get pressure on, I think we get pressure on Levis Hillfold very easily. In my opinion, so I think defensively, even though it's week one, and Shea and I talked about this a little bit, I think even though it's week one, I think defensively we'll take care of business, even if the offense staggers. But if we do, if we do lose that game, while I will be disappointed, I don't think it'll be the end of the season. I, Shea mentioned like last year, there were high expectations going in. We thought we were going to go in and actually bang with the Packers, and that just didn't happen, they crushed us. I don't see that happening this year. I think Kayla's taking, you know, big steps. And I think, I actually think we'll be fine. And one testing on the Tom Brady point, not Tom's the go. Tom's the go, I love Tom. But at the same time, Tom, you are a six round pick. Nobody expected him to be what he was today. So he did have time to develop. I shot out to Bill Belichick, 'cause he carried him as a fourth QB on the roster, 'cause he didn't play, so he didn't play, but he knew he had potential. So that's on Bill Belichick, shot out to him. At the same time, yes, he had time to develop. That's not how it is nowadays. It don't work like that, no matter. So I think, you know, Tom's just got to look at it like, whoa, what you went through is not what other QBs in today's age are going through. - That's all fair. All right, Dimitri, glad you checked in. Appreciate your telephone call on your perspective. And now he's line open. 3-1-2-3-3-2-3-7-7-6. Now we turn to this jack-a-loon. It's Viking Scott in Crown Point, Indiana. Listing on the ESP at Chicago. Viking Scott, good morning. - Jack-a-loot, come on, hoodie. - Here he goes. - It's Jack-a-loon with an N, and that's a yurko word that we've all pilfered. - Yeah, just like discombobulated as well, which a lot of you bear fans are right now. It's your thoughts. - Oh, boy. - Let's get to this. - You're ready to go. - Make go six and 11 up there in Minneapolis, St. Paul? - It's time for a show butt here, especially after you guys picked Tyson Beige and over Sam Darnold. Come on. - Yeah, that's a fact. - That's no fact at all. But here's the show butt. Bears make the playoffs, Vikings make the playoffs. Obviously the Vikings make it. I win the bet. If the Bears make it, we both make it, then we revert back to better record. How's that? - What's on the line? What are the stakes? - I'll throw in donuts, sandwiches for you guys. You guys can throw in pizza for me. Whatever you guys want to do. What do you want to wager? - Done, done, done. We'll get you a malnauties gift card on behalf of the show. I will deliver donuts in the morning and even bring the warm sandwiches for after the show then if I lose. - Beautiful. - Don't win, still have to be here at six by six 30 a.m. - I can make that work. I can drive the expressway pretty well in the morning. So we'll make it work. - Done. - And other than that, boys, I will tell you though, the football fest was a great event. Everybody's so cordial, friendly, they talk, they communicate and just a well set up event. So I was very pleased with it, even with all the bear love. And I still listen, knowing that, I'm going to hear it every day. - Sounds good. - Being a diehard Viking fan. - And it's just unbelievable. And then of course it was a great environment so you showed up with that blue and orange Kool-Aid package you're giving out to everybody. - Well, I mean, come on. Now, was that not a little side gag gift for all you guys? - 'Cause of all the Kool-Aid you're drinking, we're going to go from seven and 10 with a rookie quarterback to 10 or 11 wins in a division or a wild card, let's be serious. How many rookie quarterbacks have started all 17 games or 16 back in the day and won 10 games? - Caleb Williams, my friend. - So the only one is Andrew Luck from what I heard. So we'll see if he could be number two, but I don't think it's happening. - CJ Stroud didn't do it a year ago. - He didn't start all the games. - Yeah, he did start all the games. - What about Justin Herbert? - Believe that's not the case. 'Cause I don't know if he won one or 10. - The Tyrone Taylor first? - The Tyrone Taylor first? - Remember, he got the early injection that went awry. - Yeah. - So Justin, sir. But you're forgetting something, Viking Stroud. - What's that, Cap? What's that? - Ice and Beijing, take that. - Oh my gosh, a division three superstar that was two and two last year and four starts and really can't throw the ball deep. So if you guys rely on Tyson Beijing as a back, think about those backups in the NFC North. Tyson Beijing, now you got Malik Willis. You have the Sudfield, Nate Sudfeld and Detroit, and you have Nick Mullins in Minnesota. - Okay, and we have the best record is what we're betting, right? - Well, no, if both teams make the playoffs and we revert to it, obviously. 'Cause if neither team makes the playoffs, then it's no bet. - Understand. - Okay, fair enough. - Gentlemen, good luck to your season. All right, you're gonna probably need it. But we'll talk later in the year, I'm sure. - Let me just tell you something. - Safe, Scott. - Unless you're just doing direct passes to your running back, you can't get the ball down the field. You're in trouble. You'll be missing Cousins big time. What do you say about Kirk Cousins? At least he was able to matriculate the ball down the field, Viking Scott. You're a jack-a-loan. See you in last place, pal. You'll be looking up at the rest of us in the North. Take that. - That's it. - That's it. - That 17-game starter and qualifiers ridiculous. Just eliminate CJ. He was the week one starter because he missed week 15 and 16 with a concussion. You can't count him. That's absurd. - Agreed. - But anyway. - Yep. Thank you very much. - Happy Chinook Smoky. - Smoky also checking in. Well, as we know, well-known, Cap, this is a hard knocks Tuesday. - Yes. - And it's fortunate for us here at the Cap and Jhood Morning Show. We have exclusive audio. What you're gonna hear tonight? Yes, indeed. You know, it's one thing for it to be kind of rated G lately, but let me tell you something. Would you go in here tonight? It's gonna be pretty strong. Bears hard knocks. - And when it's over, our hard knocks post-game show. Right here on the ESPN Chicago YouTube channel, dial it up, brought to you by Dr. Pepper. I'll be having a Dr. Pepper Zero Sugar coconut tonight while I watch the show. And all of us will be participating. - Wait until you hear this tonight. The classroom, the way you are in the practice field, and then ultimately the way you guys are playing when it's counts. - Oh, God. - We talk about being physical at the sideline if you're a runner, right? We're not gonna step out of bounds. We're gonna finish the run and make the defender pay. Good (beep) Okay? The little things, man. The technique that your coaches are asking you to do, and you see the results that are happening, okay? It's good (beep) They should not get a yard. He got five yards on a nine-man front. All of them? Better than the Bears. - The one Keith? - I think he's a Bears coach. - Keith Armstrong? No question about it. - Bears assistant. There hasn't been a lot of talk about any other teams. I mean, not even the opener against the Eagles hasn't been a real topic. The only topic has been that the game's in Brazil. So I do think that when you're inside, you know, the bubble of your team in July and August, what happens on the outside doesn't seem to get a whole lot of play. You know, as fans, it's different. Maybe some media people are different. But I don't know that I heard Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings or Detroit Lions uttered once from anybody in training. - What is some of the things that's different about this season versus last as far as a roster composition for Green Bay? - Yeah, Jonathan, it's still going to be probably the youngest team in the league. I mean, we'll find out, you know, officially once the rosters are set at the end of the week, you know, cuts today and then whatever moves they make. But, you know, last year they were the youngest team in the league and they had three guys over the age of 30 on their team. This year they have one guy whose age is going to start with now maybe two, depending on what they do, like take care of. They've already cut one kicker this morning, but they could end up having only one or two guys whose age starts with the number three. You know, so it's a very, very young team. But it's a team that has experienced together, especially when you're talking about the skill position and the quarterback, you know, they sort of did this by design when they were starting over, you know, George Lovett quarterback. They didn't necessarily want to have, you know, a veteran receiver that wasn't going to have a long-term future here with this quarterback. And they sort of built it from, you know, the young age up. And, you know, I think they decided to see the benefit to that late last season with the way they finished. And, you know, certainly this year, like, and there's been so much talk from us in the media about, well, do they have a number one receiver? And then from the team, perspective is, you know, they've got four or five guys that are capable of that. So, you know, that's where this team is headed from a youth standpoint and offensive roster standpoint. - In terms of looking at what the Packers had to pay to get Jordan Love, he's at 56 million, did they screw up not getting him signed earlier before the market exploded or this is the right deal? - That's actually the best question I've heard of an ask of that way, should they have done it sooner. And by sooner, you know, it would have had to have been last season at some point. The problem was by, you know, late October of last season, early November, which if you'll remember back in 2008, that's when they signed Aaron Rodgers to his first extension, you know, was November 1st, I believe, or maybe Halloween of his first year as a starter. But the problem was that with love, they were what, two and five at that point, we hadn't taken off yet. But everybody always asked me, cap, well, did they overpay? And I like the way you asked it, because at this point, when they did it, they didn't have a choice, right? Like the gamble would have been to do something, you know, for 35 or 40 or 45 million at some point like November or December of last year when he started to turn it around. Because once you got to the point where he finished the season and the market, you know, he came on this, they really had no other choice with the PAM. What was the alternative to just let them go? You know, he wasn't going to play out the year. So I do think the way you're looking at a cap is absolutely the right way to ask the question. It should they have done it sooner. - Okay, so how do you prepare for a Brazil? You're bringing family, is it just you? What do you bring, what's in the bag as you go there? - You know, it's funny, Jonathan, I'm actually working on a story, a kind of a behind-the-scenes story about what it takes to get an NFL team to Brazil and like at least like for us, like we didn't have to ship things on a cargo ship three months ago. 'Cause that's what the teams had to do, right? And think about this too, from an NFL perspective, I was talking to somebody at the league office about this, like they don't even have goal posts over there. They literally had to put goal posts on a cargo ship in June and let it set sail across the Atlantic to get to Brazil. Like to me, it's a fascinating thing. For me, it's just a duffel bag and a laptop computer like always. - In terms of looking at our division, Green Bay has Jordan Love. The Bears think they have their guy unproven yet in Caleb. Minnesota has their issues. And then the Lions are everybody's hot pick to make a Super Bowl. So how do you see this division finishing? - Yeah, I got to be honest, Kat, like I missed on the Lions last year. I'm going in the last year, I'm sure I sent it to you at some point over the off season. I'm like, "Yeah, let's see if they're really for real." So what they finished the previous year on a nice winning streak after they were what when they like won an eight or something. And I was wrong, like they were, they backed it up. Now the question, I guess should I make the same mistake and say, "Well, they had a playoffs wrong, but they didn't get to a Super Bowl. So I'll believe that when I see it, I don't know." I do think that the Vikings are clearly at the bottom of the division though, especially based on the fact that they're not going to play, they're not going to get the chance to play their quarterback in the future, JJ and Karate this year at all. Maybe they wouldn't anyway, but at least he would have gotten a chance to develop before the injury. I talk to people around the league, not necessarily with this team, but some people with other teams in the NSC. And they rave about the talent that the Bears have around the quarterback. It's just a question of whether he is or isn't the guy or how quickly he can be the guy, because it's a lot to ask of a first year starter starting right away. The Packers have had the luxury, I guess you'd say, of not having to play rookie quarterbacks. And now, Rodgers and Logs were not picked number one. They weren't even picked top 10 or 20. They were in the twenties. So there's obviously a little bit of a different talent level coming in, but it's a hard thing to ask. I just can say that you would hope that there's patience there and that they don't play in, don't ruin it early, because I think that's the case that maybe some guys come in as the number one pick, but they don't have necessarily the talent around them that the Bears do. So I do think that there is the feeling that they're at least situated to put Caleb Williams in a good position and they have some success. And then I don't know how people look at the Packers, but I can tell you the Packers from the inside, think they're gonna be able to pick up sort of right where they left off late last year. - Yeah, so Rob, I think that the two toughest divisions in the NFL are the Norths, the AFC and the NFC North. Am I crazy to think that we can get three teams to go to the playoffs out of the North this year? - No, I mean, it's possible. I think the AFC North had three, not that long, all right? Wait, maybe it was, maybe it's been a few years, but I don't know if that wasn't. - Was it last year? - Yeah. - Okay, there you go. So, no, it's not out of the question. So the interesting thing is what the, this division plays the AFC South, right? The NFC North this year plays the AFC South. - Yes. - Not saying that those are guaranteed wins or anything, but that's a chance to rack up some wins against, what is perceived as maybe a weaker division. So, you would think that the four teams in the NFC North should come away with winning records against the AFC South, which is, you know, obviously, there's some question marks there with a lot of those teams, Tennessee, Indianapolis, among them. So, yeah, I don't think it's out of the question, Jonathan. - We should put this on the poll, please. This is something that Jesse not talked about yesterday. Rob, you're a Chicago guy. Answer this question for us. When Caleb Williams throws his first touchdown to Roma Dunes A, who gets the football? (laughs) - Boy, you know what, that's where an equipment manager has to somehow come up with another ball and convince both of the guys that it was the real ball, right? - Yeah, exactly. So, does Caleb get the football on the first touchdown to Dunes A, or does Dunes A get the first touchdown? I'm sure that Caleb would give it to Rome, but still, I mean, it's Caleb's first touchdown too. - So, no, there's only gonna be one first touchdown, but Caleb's gonna have more touchdowns than any receiver he's throwing all of them. So, I don't know, boy, that's a hard call. I would say, I would say you just get two balls that are used in the game, and you don't tell either one of them which one's the real one. - Hey, as we let you go, how many wins for the pack? - I think 11 is probably a safe number. I mean, I think the over-unders nine and a half, I think they go over that pretty easily. Getting the 12 is probably tough, and it feels like it's better than a 10 and a 7 type of team. All right, we're coming for you this year. - I say that. - Well, it'll be fun. - But you're here there every year, Rob, right? (laughing) - Well, we won't see you until like November, whatever the first time, right? Usually it's one early, one late. This year they're both in the second half of the season, I think. - That's exactly right. - We'll travel safely to Sao Paulo, Brazil. - All right, we'll be seeing you guys, thanks. - You're the best, man. - This is Rob D'Amoskey. He covers the Green Bay Packers for ESPN.com. (crowd cheering) - Rattle, rattle, thunder, batter, boom, boom, boom. - Cool. (crowd cheering) - All right, we have the cabbage. Who'd cover the day? - Yes. - And it's right around the corner on Chicago's home for sports. (upbeat music) - If you missed something, get the podcast on the ESPN Chicago app. (upbeat music) Cap and Jay Hood are back on Chicago's home for sports. ESPN Chicago. (upbeat music) And now it's time for the cap and Jay Hood Cut of the day. - Brought to you by my favorite place in town. It's called Chicago Cut. - Hey, Cal, Steven Flum. - Matt Moore. - Chicago Cut on the south north side of the Chicago River, Jay Moore. (upbeat music) - Yo. - Yes, it's boring, but it's a sport. - Oh! - Whatever. - It's not boring. - Okay, then you're boring. - All right, cut. (upbeat music) - So you know, it's a hard knocks Tuesday cap. - Yeah, I cannot wait. - And despite the goofball behind the glass, and I'm not speaking of the legendary Jay Moore. - Yes. - Uh... (mumbles) - That's Shay, hit the brain. (mumbles) Guess what? I can't wait. On the couch tonight, I got baseball on two screens and hard knocks on the big screen. Let's go! - Contents, content, especially when it comes to Chicago Bears. But luckily, you and I are privy to the audio. It will give you a little flavor of what you can expect tonight on hard knocks. Should be great on HBO Max. Let's listen to one of the coaches. - And that's very (beep) the bear. We have enough people around here doing this (beep) now I've gotta been telling you for two years. Right there, the same crap. - Ooh. - Do you start? You're a superstar? How many profiles you've got you been to? You gotta go, Jack. So who are you? Hard knocks tonight. That's right. What's that, Jay Moore? Hold on. Oh, beg your pardon. Hard knocks Atlanta Falcons. - Oh, wow. - Keith Armstrong. (laughing) - Beg your pardon. That's what we're missing, Kat. Him putting his foot in the player's ass. If Keith was like that with the Bears, oh God. - No wonder he's that. (laughing) He's ready. - No wonder he's out there, George heard it down the hall. - Keith, it's getting a little hot and heavy in the locker room, huh? - I heard saying that someone's not wearing a jacket. We've got plenty in the closet. That's not what I mean. Gold jacket. - And that's all, don't you? - Be careful, Jay, what kind of the day? - That was the best. - The best. I need to listen to that on the loop 'cause that's how coaching's done. - Oh God. - Brought to you by Chicago cuts. They got us on the south. North side of the Chicago River, the weather's incredible. - Sit outside, get a cold water burger, surprise. - And a piece of mint Oreo ice cream pie dough. - Top it all up. - Joey G and downtown Dean are with us on Cap and Jay Hood. Dean, good morning. - Good morning, Joey, good morning, fellas. - What's the morning, Dean? - What's the morning, guys? - What's on your mind, Dean? - I was gonna ask you guys, I was gonna ask you, hoodie, if you got a chance to see that new puppy of caps yet, that little pup before he turns into a mangy mutt. - I have seen it, yes. - It's beautiful. - Oh, nice. - Maverick. - Can you imagine Joey, Bob Hood coming home and seeing a dog in the house? What is that doing in here? (laughing) - A mangy mutt, you said, yes. - You know, I also wanted to bring up, I don't think Shane gets it, Joey. You and I, downtown Dean and Joey, we're no braggers, but we're friendo station. I call, you should hear the exasperated sound in Shane's voice, I go, "Why do you sound so disappointed to hear from me?" And he goes, "I am." And then puts me on hold, the nerve. And he has the nerve to say he's gonna take you to Chicago, cut Shane. We know you can't afford to go there. You better try Carson's ribs, baby. That's more USB. Take that, fellas. - All right. - That guy's awesome. - Joey, your thoughts? - Don't ever bash my friend, Shane. - All right. (clapping) - Yeah? - So, Shane has an ally, at least he's got one. - Cap, you need to stop talking to Otis. And it's time to go back into the dark room. - Dark room. - It's gonna be bad in practice for the Yankees when they come here. - You're better than that, Joey. - Mr. Hood? - Yes. - I got 13 texts and 17 phone calls till now. - Yeah, and what do they say? When did you come to my house for dinner? - Well, Joey G, I'm sure all those texts said, you let him in your house? How's your property value? I'm sure that was the response. We thank you for listening and calling in to be in part of the program here on Cap and Jay Hood. Thank you, Shane. Thank you, Jay Moore. We'll do a Waddle Wednesday tomorrow. So long, everybody. - Take that. - Force from Chicago.
