As I said, it's a Texas Tuesday and that's when we hear from Texas long worn football players. So we do that every Tuesday as well. And we heard earlier some thoughts and comments from Michael Tath and we'll hear some more from him in a little bit coming up. But we'll also hear from the quarterback of this long worn football team that of course is Quinn Ewers. So he was also made available to the media yesterday. And so we wanted to hear from the quarterback. So here's some things. First of all, here it is a season opener. His third season opener as a long worn quarterback, and he was asked, how does this the run up and preparation to this particular season opener compared to the prior two for him? I'm more able to kind of take it all in, you know, week by week, obviously being the first week, but you know, I've just been able to kind of sit back being more comfortable within the program. I'm able to just take things in more and better than I would have in the past couple of years, for sure. Well, I think that's probably a given based on how everybody else is talking about him being the leader that he's been and how much he's developed. And so part of being a leader is helping some of the newer faces. The newer guys understand the language that SARC speaks to his players. And that question was put to Quinn. I think it's super important for especially for those younger guys just to fully understand the standard and the culture. I think that's best for us. And then it's just easier for it to be carried on year by year if that's the case. And it does make a lot of sense. So when it comes down to being guys to step up, he was asked if Texas needs one or two guys, like when Rochon Johnson was a rojo or a Byron Murphy to be that big voice in a big moment, or do they have a big collection of guys like that? I mean, I don't think necessarily you need it. Every team is going to be different year in and year out. But you know, if that's the case, then that's the case. But if we have 20 guys that are all in the same page, we're in the same message. I don't think there will be an issue. All right. So, you know, a lot of guys have said they would they'd like to enjoy the moment of this. And we've heard SARC say this while he wants his guys to enjoy every moment of having the opportunity. And for a guy like yours on whose shoulders so much falls, the importance of balancing slowing things down to embrace the moment, but never getting too far away from the sense of urgency of what he has to do on the field, there's a synchronization that has to go in between those two. Me taking a step back isn't just like a thing that I do. I guess every single player, every single rep, I still had, you know, urgency and want to play at a super high level, I think, just being able to be more comfortable. I don't have so much stuff going on in my head now. I'm more able to, you know, kind of slow it down. He's got a lot of options, both in the backfield and his receiving core in the tight end core. So sometimes having all those things, it's like when you walk through a buffet and you forget about picking up, you know, something down there at the end of the line and you load up on one thing, you wind up not getting everything you want or not having the appetite match the food properly. So how does he get into a rhythm when he has so many different options at his control? Yeah, I think that's what is important about spring ball and fall camp and, you know, the weekends in the summertime is just getting in a rhythm with all those guys. And I think we did a great job over the past, however many months it's been getting used to each other and then getting used to me. Well, that's an important part of it. And it also raises his own excitement level when he has so many playmakers on offense at his disposal. Yeah, I mean, sorry, the best one in the world, whenever you have guys that, you know, are more than capable of playing on Saturdays and it's just a great feeling. Yeah, it certainly helps out an awful lot now. One thing that players as they grow older talk about, and I remember hearing Colton McCoy talk about this when he left, the young talk about this was left. Other guys talk about it once their eligibility is expired. I've heard it in different sports as well. And that is the team which we miss most is the team and the bonding and the activities to do that. He, yours appreciates those types of things much more than he did say a couple of years ago now that he's got a bit older. It's definitely, definitely more fun as I get older for sure doing the team activities. You know, when I was younger, I think I'd rather just, you know, be at home by myself. But now, like I've been saying this whole time, I'm just more comfortable with in the program. So being out with the guys and talk off or whatever it is, it's got a lot more fun for me for sure. All right. He was asked about the bonding of the group and he was also asked about the confidence, the confidence always so very important with the football team. What particular keys are involved in team growth as they try to develop that confidence? I mean, I don't think we'd look at it any differently than we have. I mean, obviously it's going into the first week. We still, you know, still got to find a rhythm in ourselves and whatnot. But we definitely expect to win. And I think we expect to win every game no matter if it was this year or the past couple years. But we're going to go in and focus on it one week at a time and enjoy the process and try to win each game each week. All right. So if you're going that well and you've got a lot of confidence, how do you guard against getting a little too confident being a little bit cocky? Yeah. I think that's, you know, what we've been trying to build this culture on is discipline and toughness. And, you know, just because we're Texas and we roll the ball out there doesn't mean we're going to walk across from the body. We play, you know, we still got to go out there and, you know, have a right mind about things and be disciplined and be tough. A couple of game related questions. What's he expecting of himself this Saturday in the opener and by large for the entire season? Yeah. I mean, I think all those guys are going to get a good chance to play and, you know, whatever whatever coach Suck wants and whoever he wants in the game, I know they're going to be able to capitalize. Yeah. That was the question about is he expecting to see a lot of the younger guys play. I jumped ahead of it. I got ahead of myself. Now, what is he expecting from himself? Yeah. I just play my game and enjoy the moment. You know, you only get so many opportunities to play, especially in DKR. So enjoy the moment and have a good time doing it. It's a kid's game that I get to play. So all right. Coming up, we're going to hear more from Quinn, yours and some more from Michael Taff as well.
