Mike Moore media. I'm checking in with our friend Eddie McGee, Executive Director of the Stokes County Arts Council. He's on the line right now. Eddie, 14, let's see, I'm kind of 17, 17 days and counting to Stoke Stomp. We'll get to that in a little bit, but I'm excited. I can't wait. Yeah, the 50th Stoke Stomp, like, and good morning to you, and yeah, we're excited. Lots of other stuff happening beside the Stomp, but yeah, the Stomp, that's coming. That's coming. Principal event for 50 years, and we're just at this point, we're all praying for good weather. Yeah, yeah. But some other things to get to before then, I just had to mention it right up front, so what's on your calendar? Okay. So we've got our current gallery exhibit, Hillary Norman, a wonderful exhibition of original art, now, see, now through, I'm trying to think, end of September here in the Ben and Linda Apple Gallery in Danbury. It's a little different. It's going to be, I'm not even going to try to describe it over the airway. Okay, all right. If people are in Danbury or headed to Hanger Rock or the Dan River, stop in and see this wonderful exhibit. I think it's Hillary's first time exhibiting with us, and we're open seven days a week. So there you go. Okay. We've also got some, some play auditions coming up this Friday, seeking asylum. I think early November will be the production date for that. If anyone interested, you know, you're getting to go to a website or go to our social media pages, they're interested in in auditioning for seeking asylum. On Saturday, we're really excited about this. We have an international singing star coming here. Yeah. Yeah. She was German-born, but she's part of, she's been Irish now for several years, and just a phenomenal performer and world traveler now. She's been a US concert series, and she will be arriving here on Friday. I've got to pick her up at the airport on Friday, and then performs on Saturday, and this is supported by Culture Ireland. So this tour of hers, I'm very well connected with all of her musicians, the musician friends in Ireland, and so we're just, again, excited to have her here. And, um, that's Saturday, it's Saturday, it's Saturday, it's Saturday. It's Saturday, it's Saturday, it's Saturday. You've still got a few tickets, you've still got a couple of tickets. That's some tickets available, and she's a multidimensionalist, but there's no telling what else she's going to play. Things a lot of traditional Irish songs, as well as some new pop type stuff, so she's a singer-songwriter, and just a diverse personality to know, and I've known her for a little while. She's also a contributing writer to, I think, Irish Running Magazine, so she's all things Ireland. If you want to know anything about Ireland, come here Saturday and you've got to hear it and see it. It's kind of just a lot of fun. And don't you think, Eddie, we'll probably, all of us got a little bit of Irish roots to us, yeah, I think. Okay. Well, I know I do. We go to Ireland quite a bit, and I love staying connected to all our Irish family over there. Yeah, sure. And I'm even related to the course, which a lot of people here don't know, but they're a huge act over in Ireland. So, yeah, our music goes, there's so many similarities like between Ireland, Irish culture, and what happens in our area? So, I'm like an M. Kelly. Sure. Anyway, come see, see the field on Saturday 7th. We have a silk scarf class on September the 7th, and again, other classes on the way, so check out our pages, our social media pages. On September 13th, we're having a kickoff for the 50th Stokes Tump. That'll be off campus. The Ramble at Big Creek in Westfield, Anja Hinkle in John Doyle, a great duo. So, actually kicking off the 50th Stump with a Friday night performance. And then on September the 14th, the 50th Stump. And wow, what a lineup we have. Shadowgrass is just a dynamic young group of local artists. And I think they're all under the age of 30, and just phenomenal pickers. And so, there are headliners, Caleb Coddle and Sweet Critters, another singer, songwriter, another local. We're calling it somewhat of a youth movement, even though we're celebrating 50 years, Mike. And then we've got Robert Tilly, a hard times band, another great bluegrass act. The Old Dominion cloggers will be performing with Robert Tilly. They'll be dancing for that. We have The Faudrill Brothers, Piedmont Blues tribute to The Faudrill Brothers. And it's just, it's a free event, free shuttle, free parking. I mean, you can even jump in the river for free, Mike. Free, free, free, free. It's free, free, free. Arts and crafts vendors, great food vendors. And we have a third stop parade. So come over, spend the day, you will not be bored. Something for everyone, truly, for the 50th third stop. Yeah. Oh, congratulations, reaching 50 on that. So that starts at 9 a.m. September 14th. Okay. September 14th. And a couple other things, we have a glass pumpkin class, or excuse me, ceramic pumpkin class. That's going to be Saturday, September 21st, just in time for fall. And then I'm going to jump ahead to Saturday, October 19th. We'll reach the peak challenge. Yeah. It's a big fundraiser for us. 10 plus miles, held at Hanging Rock State Park. And we usually have 500 participants. And so, beautiful time of the year. And again, 10 miles this year, we're featuring Cook's Wall, House Rock, Wolf Rock, and Hanging Rock. And then we finish up with the green heron, where we have beverages and food trucks, reach the peak challenge on Saturday, October 19th. Okay, you're ready for that one? You're getting ready? Oh, yeah. I'll be ready. I tell you what, like that one event, I try to stay in shape. I try to exercise every day to do something. Yeah, because it is, I set the trail up myself, we had a little team, and we set the trail up. So I actually have to hike it hike, hike it twice that week. Oh, wow. Yeah. So we set the trail up midweek, and then we hike it on that Saturday. And 500 of our best friends, and they come from multiple states. And it's just so beautiful. And you're out encouraging each other. And, you know, we're all about arts and recreation parks. So good stuff. Good stuff that thing. Oh, yeah. Lots of good stuff, as always. Yeah. At the Stokes County Arts Council. Yeah. The arts place. We appreciate you. We couldn't do it without you. Mike Moore helping us promote always good things. Oh, you could do it without me. You could do without me, but I'm glad to help anyway. It wouldn't be near. It wouldn't be near. It's fun. Oh, well, okay. All right. Eddie, always fun to talk to you. And thanks a lot for putting it all together, making it happen for all of us to enjoy all those good things. We appreciate it. Always good to talk to you. I mean, you're your brother in the arts for us, Mike, and community. And we love you. We appreciate you. So I was my pleasure this morning. And we look forward to talking with you again, sir. You bet. Have a happy Labor Day weekend coming up and all the activities. Thanks, Eddie. Bye bye. Bye bye. All right. That's our friend Eddie McGee, Executive Director of the Stokes County Arts Council. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, he's he now. When does that man sleep? I don't know. He's just putting it all together for for all of us. You can get more information on their Facebook page, Stokes County Arts Council, Stokes Arts dot org. Thank you for your support. Lots of opportunities for you to get involved, too. And don't forget, uh, yep, 17 days away, the 50th annual Stokes Stop. Oh, that's going to be a big day as always. 50 years for that. And that's at Moore Talk Park. [BLANK_AUDIO]
