talking about a game with you it is time to get ready for saturday's matchup between the receiving votes in the fcs poll you tea martin and case state so if you guys forgot how the format will go for these game preview shows we'll hit any news at the top of the show whether it's football or anything that is urgent for any of the other sports then we're going to talk about the Chris and presser any takeaways from the player press availability on monday and then we get into kind of what I'm going to be looking for what's on the line for this game then we'll get to the keys to be then we're going to get to the picks to click and then pick them is back myself verse the bonehead collective so it is fun to be back it is fun to be doing this format again we've had for the most part for the most part the same format every football season it's evolved a little bit but i'm pumped to get in here really the news at the top of the show is really about the depth chart again nothing too surprising we've been following any of the starting competitions and really the backup competitions pretty closely here at Bosco's boys so again nothing too surprising the real thing is Al Camarranco nowhere on the depth chart so we usually call this a 2D but they actually there's a handful of spots where it was you know 3D without any more so they're giving us the first second and third string other spots they're giving us just the top two but you got three guys at middle linebacker Al Camarranco nowhere to be seen sounds like he struggled some with injuries but everyone I've talked to and I think we'll hear more about this tomorrow when we chat with Derek Young but he wasn't going to be the starter Austin Romaine has had such a good summer that he was going to be the starter whether or not Al Camarranco had any sort of injuries the surprising things he's nowhere to be seen so we'll see if Al Camarranco can get out on the field that would be something to watch throughout the season that's really the first thing that popped out to me the next thing that popped out was there were three defensive end spots two running back spots and two tight end spots on the depth chart now the tight end spot two of them being there I mean last year we had a tight end and a full back so that's not that crazy the running backs you kind of had a big running back and a small running back with DJ being the starter for the big running back Dylan Edwards or the James White which I thought okay all right all right a little bone to the James White but Dylan Edwards and then the defensive ends it seemed to me is you have your kind of traditional seven technique true edge player you had your five technique or four I and then your three technique with those players being Brendan Mott Cody Stufflebean and then Chidi OBS or Travis Bates at that kind of quote unquote insider that three tech so some folks you know we're trying to say hey this is just trying to keep everyone happy I'm leaning more towards it was trying to showcase off the truly different positions the running back position that DJ get ins and Joe Jackson are playing is different from what they're going to ask Dylan Edwards to do those different defensive ends are having different responsibilities and they have a different style of play from one another I think those tight ends are all going to be used in specific in different ways so that's my takeaway it will be something to watch maybe they are just trying to get folks out there I don't know I'm choosing to think that they're really going to get creative out there quarterback three looks to be Justice James Jordan Dunbar and Donovan McIntosh battling out for cornerback four because there was an or there again a lot of praise for both those guys in the last couple weeks so it's exciting to see both of them still battling it out for that final spot in the quarterback rotation Wesley Fair or Colby McAllister to back up strong safety behind Vijay Payne that was an interesting one to me because Colby McAllister gets a lot of praise but you guys remember I'm a massive fan of Wesley Fair so I was pumped to see him out there on the depth chart quarterback two still not decided between take one Robert or Roberson and Jacob Knuth ultimately I think as the year goes on Roberson will distance himself a little bit but it has not yet been decided line gang and Portia getting the or treatment line gang also listed as the backup behind Hadley Panzer so I think he's going to be that swing guy playing both on the left and right starting wide receivers are Keegan Johnson Dante Cephas both of them outside wide receivers Jason Brown as the slot receiver backups are Jaden Jackson or Ty Bowman behind Keegan trace Spivey behind Dante Cephas and Sterling Lockett behind Jason Brown so that was something we were going to keep our eyes at four and it's coming to fruition We're going to be getting Lockett on the too deep Will Swanson backed up by Will Ancio and then Andrew Metzger at what I'm kind of perceiving as more of the tight end spot Garrett Oakley backed up by Brayden loft in at what I'm kind of thinking as a bigger wide receiver role The defensive ends are not stuffle bean and then Bates or Cheetie and what I'm perceiving as the big defensive end or three tech for some of those four down linemen situations Damien Elolio is starting in front of Uso and then Asher as the number three defensive tackles so no Malcolm Alcorn crowders we sit here right now I would imagine by the end of the season he cracks into that three deep and maybe he's the number three defensive tackle but I think it still might take him a little bit of time he only showed up in late summer so I don't think I don't think he's going to be much of a player at least in the first half of the season I got tenet kicking not a surprise Simon McClellan will be your opening day punter that was what was going to be assumed but you know there are a few underclassmen going after that punting job Mason Olgin from Dodge City Community College will be the long snapper kickoff return it will be Dylan Edwards or Jason Brown or Keegan Johnson punt return Dylan Edwards or Sterling Locket Chris Kliman talked about it in his presser and I'll skip over this if I had it in my notes but said that all four of those guys the trio on kickoffs and then Dylan and Sterling on punt returns will all get opportunities quite frankly I'm hoping there's not a lot of kickoff return opportunities on Saturday or really most of this year but it is interesting that he says all three of those guys will get opportunities and that's going to be something they try to drill down in practice this week all right we'll move into the Chris Kliman presser takeaways this is brought to you by Manhattan Brewing Company folks we started talking about it in the summer and now it is here on Friday the K state Alumni Association and Manhattan Brewing Company are getting their tailgate party on at Manhattan Brewing Company from four to six if you want to hang out with the best Alumni Association in the big 12 and the country make sure you're in Manhattan on points right there at Manhattan Brewing Company again they were dropping three or four different beers this week they were going to have a special kegs and eggs party going on starting at nine a.m. on Saturday so if you're getting into Manhattan you need a spot to hang out before you go to the game or hell if you need a spot just to watch the game Manhattan Brewing Company is the spot for you if you're not going to be in the happiest place in America but you are in the great state of Kansas make sure you talk to your local liquor store and make sure they get the four packs in there for you all right Chris Kliman's presser moved it up to Mondays he feels like it's going to help the coaches and his schedule I personally don't like it I feel like we're going to get even less information if you want to talk about personnel decisions or really even conversations about the upcoming game I think it's going to be a lot more backwards looking but look I love Chris Kliman I want him to stay for as long as he's going to be coaching so I'm not going to throw a little hissy fit from Shawnee Kansas about when he's doing his rest conference in Manhattan couple guys he did not name them but he said a couple guys are banged up and they're questionable if they're going to be able to go on Saturday like I said didn't mention any names but it sure doesn't seem like it's going to be anything that's going to keep them out long term so it will be something you know I know there's guys that go Paracat guys at K-State online Kelis Robinette a lot of the big Jjurnos usually have that sort of information about two and a half three hours out from game maybe an hour and a half when they start seeing guys come out for warm ups so I'd have your eyes glued to Twitter or X to make sure you're following everyone to see who may or may not be available a lot of praise not just from Chris Kliman but from the players later about UT Martin being a good FCS team we talked to the voice of the Skyhawks back in June oh man time flies when you're having fun yes we talked with Davis at Gregory back in June will have him on for a primer for Friday's whip around as well they're a team that has won or had a share of their conference in the FCS so they are a talented team and they have a veteran offense coming back so that they are deserving of the prep and Chris Kliman says that they're going to be good to go on Saturday Chris Kliman asked about hey what does Avery need to do to be the guy this season Chris Kliman just says hey he just needs to be himself the kid's not going to be nervous he's going to be ready and we know that and I'm very confident Avery Johnson on podium session after Chris Kliman and the demeanor he carries himself and the maturity and how he goes about dealing with the media he looks like a pro out there again I don't want to throw shade at any other quarterbacks he does seemingly have pot shots at his former school every time he gets a chance but Avery didn't do that and Avery was much better when it comes to being in front of the media than an unnamed hero quarterback playing in the Big Ten for Ohio State we already touched about how they're wanting to rotate stuff on kick off and punt returns a lot of praise for Damian Ollio said he is one of the leaders had a lot of votes for captain even though he didn't end up as a captain says just great leader and a consistent player said him and Uso will play a lot again I don't think it's going to be 50 50 but I think it might be 65 35 60 40 on snaps on the inside got to keep those big boys rotating again a lot of praise for the veteran leadership especially at quarterback for UT Martin says it's going to test the defense and also asked about hey are you going to try to rotate guys in and out Chris Kliman said hey you can't you can't be planning for that you got to put your best foot forward and plan to win the game and he says he remembers when he was in the FCS and teams had that attitude trying to figure out when these stars would come out and he would just beat him so again I don't think we're ever going to have to worry about Chris Kliman and his staff and these players ever taking an FCS school lightly and this is something I have talked about with Drew Galloway something I've talked about on this podcast or on past episodes of this podcast something I talked about with Derek Young tomorrow praise for that red shirt freshman slash true sophomore class just littered all across the depth chart so that 2023 class truly was one that was special and again started getting into the defensive line just so much praise for the defensive and then just say that hey you you wouldn't miss a beat playing six or seven guys at any of those end spots they're finding ways to get multiples of those guys on the field and there's going to be different packages so are we going to see that versus UT Martin are they going to keep that for Arizona or Tulane definitely to keep an eye out on Saturday really pans are just heeped praise on him said it's just a guy who loves ball kind of joked around saying hey Easton Kilti not not very talkative but they're very fortunate they got him in in the spring when they did and it's helped him a lot going up against a bunch of old big 12 caliber defensive ends in practice final two things I took away Braden Lofton some praise for him talking about how he's made a jump in the summer not only is play making with the ball in his hand so attacking as a blocker downfield in the passing game after someone else gets to catch with also in the running game I think Braden Lofton might be that guy to take that big jump definitely something to keep a look out for especially if we can get a nice early lead see we're fans I'm just doing a podcast I can talk about that even if Chris Kalman doesn't want the team to think that way final takeaway from Chris Kalman asa Newsom is ready to talk about how he took care of his body and he's shown hard work he moved to the sand backer which is more of his natural spot versus where he was last year at the will said he can play both also said we'll see a lot of special teams from him look Chris Kalman was confident he looked ready to get going out there and he gives away a lot with his body language every single week and he's a guy who I think he's like Chauncey right before I let him out if he sees a bunch of scrolls in the backyard he is ready to go and I'm very excited to see what Chris Kalman has up his sleeve for this season when you need meal time inspiration it's worth shopping Kroger for thousands of appetizing ingredients that inspire countless mouthwatering meals and no matter what tasty choice you make you'll enjoy our everyday low prices plus extra ways to save a little coupon worth over $600 each week and up to $1 off per gallon at the pump with points so you can get big flavors and big savings Kroger fresh for everyone fuel restrictions apply this is brought to you by Honda when you test drive the all-new prologue EV there's a lot that can impress you about it there's the class leading passenger space the clean thoughtful design and the intuitive technology but out of everything what you'll really love most is that it's a Honda visit Honda.com/ev to see offers I also had a handful of players who had press availability on Monday. Avery is up at the podium and then some breakout sessions. There wasn't really anything that I took away from a handful of the guys. I had some takeaways from Avery, J.S. Brown, Markey Segal, Austin, more Brendan Mott so again I don't know you get like three or four minutes worth of video for some of these guys and look not everything is profound not everything needs to make into the podcast obviously Avery we're going to talk about Avery anytime he's talking he was asked a similar question about kind of nerves and that type stuff and he said that look maybe if he wasn't prepared if he didn't prepare like he does maybe he would but he says he's been getting ready for this moment his whole life again absolute professional out there talked about how much fun the offense is going to be because the guys around him makes his job ten times easier funny way how he answered that question versus other folks he said when asked the question what are you trying to prove he said I'm not trying to prove anything the only battle I have going on is competing with myself every day he knows what he's capable of truly I mean this kid is a true sophomore he's like nineteen or twenty and he sounds like he is a fifteen year NFL vet like again he it's just just a master class up there and then the last thing and something we've been pounding home here at Bosco's boys they were asked about like hey who on the team isn't giving enough love who should fans really dial in on he said hey look all the fans know about him but he's getting slept on at a national level that's DJ Giddens I could not agree more with Avery every time I hear folks talking about best running backs in the big twelve DJs never getting mentioned by folks outside of Manhattan Kansas he had more yards from scrimmage and Devin you he had more yards per touch than Taj Brooks DJ Giddens is every bit the running back of everyone in the conference yet he's continued to be slept on when I listen to some of these other podcasts when I listen to some of these other radio hits when talking about running backs in the big twelve and don't get me wrong there are so many good running backs so many good running backs you know RJ Harvey is great Ollie Gordon obviously is going to be a Heisman contender just about every team has someone on their team that they think should be all big twelve caliber but but DJ Giddens truly is up there with the best of them and he's being slept on and I think he's going to continue to be overlooked and again I said it during my predictions episode yesterday I think DJ Giddens based on the era he's playing in will go down as one of if not the most underrated players in K-State history Jase Brown nothing crazy but it did you know give some insight to the player that he thinks he can be talking about how he wants to be the guide that Avery goes to on third down to pick up the first down kind of like that prototypical possessions he's also talking about wanting to go after the big place he wants to be able to do it all and I think Jase Brown has that drive that he can be that homegrown wide receiver that excels really the first one Tyler Lockett Curry section Tyler Lockett again you know Byron Pringle comes in from I mean I'm a little hard on Malik Knowles Malik Knowles was pretty good but but I think Jase Brown has that drive to be something special talked about how his chemistry is even better with Avery saying that they're still throwing after practice getting together on days off again he has that work ethic that you really want to see out of a possible number one wide receiver then also talked about how good it was to come into this offseason with the momentum he had at the back end of last year I really do think that final five six games catapulted Jase Brown into what I think is going to be a great season Marquis Segal it was good if you haven't get on YouTube go to case online go powercat I think both of them had videos of Marquis Segal great interview he was talking about how the entire defense is challenging each other they're talking Now who's going to get that first interception who's going to get that first pass break up you know force fumble all this type of stuff the energy surrounding the defense and especially the safeties I think a lot of swagger stickers are going to be going to those three starting safeties because all three of those guys truly have the juice talked up the can't the Jacob Parrish and Keenan Garber he kept calling Keenan Garber K1 He was really pumped about those two and he said hey like it's their mission to prove some of the doubters wrong then also asked about hey who are some guys that some young guys that had a good camp he gave a shout out to Jordan Allen Ryan Davis Austin Moore really talked up I think he was asked hey what's this year this year's defense can be better than last year's he was talking about the pass rush especially the young guys He's going to be really excited about that he was reminiscing on his career and he says he still gets goosebumps still gets excited for that first game and he can't wait for it and also talked up asa So a lot of good comments for Asa Newsom sounds like he's going to have a bright year and he and Austin Moore said bright year and bright career as well He said that I took away again not much but Brendan Mott's he he beat a lot of praise on UT Martin and then also he said that Jordan Riley keeps making plays every time they turn on tape he's like who's making that play and apparently it's been Jordan Riley He says that he's made the biggest jump from practice one to the end of preseason camp so that is a good one to look out for all right before we get into the stuff I'll be looking for what is on the line let's give So our friends at Charlie Hussle these spot for the best looking and most comfortable officially licensed case state gear in the game we are giving away a t-shirt get over to Bosco's boys you've seen me retweet a bunch of them If you want a shot it's going to be a random number generator if you want to win a free t-shirt from Bosco's boys and Charlie Hussle all you have to do is follow Bosco's boys on twitter And read tweet the contest tweet if you want a bonus entry quote the tweet or reply with your favorite picture that you've taken at Bill Snyder family stadium Charlie Hussle vintage made fresh All right let's get into it the first thing that I'm really going to be looking for in this game and you know because look I'm looking for easy to identify differences between the offense under calling Klein and now Connor Riley with the supporting cast of Matt Wells I'll be honest I'm not smart enough to pick up on some of the stuff right as it's happening while I'm in the stadium Usually you know I'll talk to folks more much more intelligent in the game of football than myself and then I'll look for those things when I rewatch it on Sunday So that's going to be the key while I'm up there in section seven I'm going to be looking to see all right what's different what can I spot from up in the stands I'm anticipating more motion more jet motion than we've seen the last few years I'm anticipating seeing more wide receiver rotation than we've seen the last couple years I think some of the passing concepts might be a little different but at the same time the passing concepts that sounds like you're going to change or less option routes and more just hey you're running a post you're running a button hook you're running an out and in et cetera et cetera It sounds like that's going to be the big difference versus you know option routes maybe some more bubble action maybe some more screen passes but really I think when you're out and watching the passing game I don't think any of us are going to really have an idea of what is changing those concepts because we just see the final product we don't know if it was an option for you know a slant left slant right you know any of this stuff hook left hook right out all that type stuff we don't know what the options were so I would imagine that is tougher to dissect live but I'll definitely be trying to see what I can see there in the stadium The next thing and I don't know if we can really hold back because two lanes a game we should win next week but it's not a game you can be testing stuff it's not a game that you can be trying stuff I really think that in this game yes you're not going to show all your biggest and best plays you're not going to be doing all these different trick plays and all this type of stuff but you have to have an idea of what works and what doesn't if you have some installs if you have some concepts that might be new for this year that you're on the fence about you have to try them out you have to give them a run out in this game because you're not going to be able to pussyfoot around and you know and honestly dig around verse two lane I think we saw a little bit of that the last time we played to lane and it did not work out so you really cannot be doing that when you go down to New Orleans next week so I'm going to be looking for us to really push the envelope at least early before the game is in hand before you move on to the backups so that's something I'm going to be looking for I also think you're going to be able to take care of UT Martin really in the base defense you shouldn't spend any of your exotic blitzes but I really am hoping to see a lot from those young defensive ends and finding out who's good in practice who's good in camp and who's going to be good under the bright lights so that's going to be something I'm going to be looking for as well the last thing I'll be looking for it's hopefully a comfortable blowout win hopefully you do it early hopefully you only have to send out all your starters for one drive in the second half I'm always a proponent it doesn't matter the score you can be up 50 to nothing at half time I still want to see the starters take that first series both on offense and defense so they understand how to ramp themselves back up after the half time break so I'm hoping we see that early because I'd like to see who the standouts are on the second and third and fourth line on the depth chart I want to see those guys pop because look you might get a first taste of someone on Saturday they might not be a star you know the guy who makes the big play in the third and fourth quarter they might not be a star right now but they could be a star by the end of the season this might be our first taste of some of the stars of tomorrow for 2025 and 2026 at the end of the day I would not be shocked if this is the last time you're getting you know a run out being able to clear the bench as you might say until the Arizona state and Cincinnati games and that's game 10 and 11 so again you have to make the most of the opportunities that hopefully come again I'm hoping outside of the first drive almost the entire third and fourth quarter are going to be those future stars what's on the line again not much I think UT Martin when it's all said and done I don't know if they're going to be an FCS playoff team but I think they might be in the postseason FCS top 25 I think this should be a stressful game obviously you lose the sky's falling all the memes like you know I mean obviously if you drop it you know cancel the podcast I'm not going to be any mood to talk about it but winning you're not going to get much there I just don't think there's much on the line because I really don't think that's anything I don't think we should be worried about anything we'll keep going sorry had a small computer small computer issue there so what's on the line again it would be nice to send a message but Chris come and typically has not really tried to send a message he doesn't stop trying to play the game of football but you know like I said I think early in the third quarter we're going to see the twos and threes and maybe you're ending with you know the fourth string guys out there if you wanted to again you see some schools run up the score on FCS teams you see some schools really try to pad stats against FCS teams that's just not the way Chris Conan's built there may be some teams that if he gets the chance to run it up a little bit that he does it against FCS schools not going to be one of those so I don't think we're going to see him you know letting Avery play deep into the third quarter maybe even in the fourth the pad his stats I don't think they're going to try to cherry pick an extra touchdown here there for DJ Giddens I don't think they're going to be trying to get Marquis Segal an extra interception but you could you could if you wanted to but I just don't think we're going to see that all in all I you know we'll get to my official prediction at the end of this episode but it should be a stress free win to set up a nice little one and O matchup with Tulane next week one final thing of note about that game is you know we're peeking ahead because I'm just talking into a mic up in my at home office I'm not at the veneer family football complex but Tulane does get two extra days rest they are playing tomorrow as you guys are listening versus like Northeast Louisiana some FCS school down there getting two extra days of rest two extra days of prep we'll see if that has any sort of impact at all but something to keep in the back of your mind my dad works in B2B marketing he came by my school for career day and said he was a big row as man then he told everyone how much he loved calculating his return on ad spend my friends still laughing me to this day not everyone gets B2B but with LinkedIn you'll be able to reach savings are waiting go to your happy place for a happy price go to your happy price Priceline alright now it is time to get into our keys to the keys to be obviously it's an FCS non-con game stay healthy as long as the playmakers don't go down we should be fine granted we've seen in the Chris Common Era how a major injury can cause the FCS game to be a stressful time we saw Skyler go down in the what would that have been the 2021 season and we saw Will Howard almost blow the game in the FCS game as a sophomore so definitely if you see some big injuries that all of a sudden makes this game to be stressful all in all if all of the major stars of this team stay healthy I don't see any scenario in which this is a loss now going beyond that second key to be get up big get up early and again I said this you know I doubt Chris Common uses this as a game to run up stats for any individual players so that way you can get some guys experience because like I said like I said just a little bit earlier I think it's going to be all the way till November before you get another shot where you can empty the bench where you can get some guys some game reps and that's a long time so you got to keep you got to feed that hunger for some of these guys in this game so hopefully get up big get up early get the guys out of there the starters out of there after the first quarter and get some folks some well needed experience number three show some special teams excellence so I'm hoping this team gets a lot of opportunities for kickoff coverage I want to see Chris tenant bomb some out of the back the end zone I want to see him launch them up and have it drop right down on the two so we can see some kickoff coverage reps would love to see that would love to see a big punt return or a block kick obviously tenant needs to go perfect from extra point maybe a field goal here there if there are kickoff return opportunities I'd love to see them pop a big return or two there's been a lot made of the new special teams analysts coming down from the NFL I'd like to really see this unit shine as last year I thought Chris tenant was fine I thought bloomer was fine but left a little bit to be desired on some of the kickoff coverage and on the punt and kick return units as well the final one is capitalize on opportunities to cause turnovers it's one of those things that the defensive players have been talking about all summer long when you put yourself in the opportunity to make the interception make the interception if you see the ball punch it out if you see the ball on the ground scoop it up or dive on it I want to see this emphasis on creating turnovers come to fruition in this game because again this is not to degrade UT Martin but they're not on the same level as what we're going to see verse two lane or the following Friday verse Arizona so it's really important to maximize on the opportunities you get there move on to picks to click this isn't necessarily a offensive and defensive MVP prediction but it's guys where it's like hey you're walking back to your car after the game you say to your buddy said your dad in my instance hey someone so had a good game doesn't have to be the player of the game but hey just some guys who are going to play well that said I'm going to try not to do this every week but it's the first week of the season let's go with the superstar himself Avery Johnson again I'm going to try not to make a habit of picking him but it is his first time starting at quarterback at Bill Snyder family stadium let's see him put on a show for a quarter to you know plus a drive in the third quarter and let's see what he can do let's see him show off that arm let's see a couple highlight runs take care of the ball but make big plays so I'm going to pick Avery to achieve all those things he is my first pick to click the second one I'm going with Brendan Mott he's a captain he's a leader he had a great 2022 when he was opposite Felix in DK Uzama took a step back in 2023 I want him to bounce back and have a good 2024 let's see at least one sack maybe a maybe an extra half sack let's see a few tackles let's see Brendan Mott have a big game right there on the edge think you know the Brooks ghost think again introducing the all new better than ever ghost 16 now with nitrogen infused cushioning for lightweight supreme softness that feels good every step every street every single day so go ahead take your daily joyride in the all new nitrogen infused ghost 16 it'll turn your everyday miles into everyday endorphins let's run there head to brooksrunning.com to learn more all right that is those are the picks to click Avery Johnson and Brendan Mott time to get into game predictions so last year it was close I don't remember I don't remember if you guys beat me or not but I'm giving the boneheads I'm going to give the boneheads the win I think it's the first year you guys have won the bonehead collective one again I don't remember someone would have to go back to some of those final episodes and let me know what the record was but I'm giving it to you guys because I love ya I love my boneheads so this year once we get in the conference play it's going to be it's 15 games every week I have a Twitter poll so if you're not on Twitter sorry you can DM me your picks if you want but it's not going to help out the boneheads I'm not going to keep track but it will be a poll on Twitter typically going to go out probably on Monday afternoon a 24 hour poll sometimes I will forget and we will have a very frantic short poll I'm sorry I'm sorry if someone wants to DM me at Monday at noon every single week to remind me please do once we get in the conference play we'll have every single big 12 game I skipped some of the games this week because I mean let's just face it a lot of stinkers a lot of stinkers but I got some of the biggest games of the week in here to predict as well we'll always have big noon kick off we'll always have which is always going to be a big 10 game whatever I guess not always but wherever big noon goes we will have that game wherever college game day goes we'll have that game as well I believe big noon is going to Morgantown West Virginia for Penn State West Virginia in game days college station for Texas A&M hosting Notre Dame both those games are in there we're starting off with Clemson versus Georgia and Atlanta and one of the biggest landslides of a non-case state game we got UGA 98% with the boneheads I also have the Georgia Bulldogs as well we got Miami at Florida I know Miami has to be feeling themselves thinking the third path to the ACC Championship and the playoff has to be looking good after Florida State dropping that game with Georgia Tech on week zero the boneheads have Miami in a closer one I'm going Miami as well this could be the beginning of the long season for Florida they got a very tough schedule so I'm going with Miami college game day like I said it's going to be at Notre Dame Texas A&M or Colin Klein's offense and Mike Elko's Texas A&M fight naggies take on the fighting Irish the boneheads have Notre Dame close I have Notre Dame winning this one close as well they have such a soft schedule I absolutely hate Notre Dame but I think it's a little early to see Mike Elko's magic I think he's going to be good at Texas A&M and I think Texas A&M's offense is going to be good this year as I've said I have one of my predictions for the season is Mark Stoops retires at Kentucky and Colin Klein is the next head coach at Kentucky so we'll see what happens there USC playing LSU in Las Vegas boneheads have LSU 74% I agree I think Brian Kelly gets it done I think Lincoln Riley's honeymoon is definitely over I think there might have been a handful of folks have Lincoln Riley leaving USC in the prediction for a big job opening that shakes everything up I wouldn't be surprised if this is the final year for Lincoln Riley USC I think he might try to get into the NFL or make some sort of move because I think it's going to be like another seven and five type of year for USC and I think they're going to get a little restless next in some of the big 12 action on Thursday we got KU versus Lindenwood in Kansas City Kansas children Mercy's Park boneheads have KU 77% look the last time Lindenwood opened a season versus team you know in the state of Kansas it was in Topeka versus Washburn they were a division two school in 2021 maybe it's 2022 I can't remember they have players on their team who started their career as division two players for Lindenwood KU doesn't win this by 50 I truly will be shocked I truly would be shocked so KU wins this one big North Dakota state at Colorado the boneheads have the buys in 60% this isn't the North Dakota state of old I think Colorado gets it done I think it's a close game but this isn't the giant killer bison of you know Chris Klimans era so I think that's I think Colorado does get it done for a rare win for this one KU at Stanford boneheads have TCU big I have TCU big again I think it's wild that TCU is playing Stanford and SMU in the non-conference and those are both ACC games I think it's wild but Stanford sucks they suck big noon kickoff game pre-game and the time slot Penn State going to Mular Pusgar Stadium or Mulan Pusgar Stadium MPS whatever boneheads believing in the West Virginia Mountaineers 54% I'm not a big believer in West Virginia I think it's gonna be a rowdy crowd I think it's gonna be tough for Penn State but I think they get it done even as much as I wish West Virginia would be massive for the conference but I just think Penn State's gonna have a little bit too much for them Andy Cole Rolnick former KUOC at Penn State getting the win on the road In Dakota State at Oklahoma State boneheads have Oklahoma State 82% I think this is going to be a nervy game into the third quarter for Oklahoma State I think they end up winning by two scores take down the two time defending champions of FCS the number one team in the FCS so I think they get it done but I think it's a close one North Dakota at Iowa State North Dakota again it's a top 25 team in the SCS Iowa State's going to win again this one might be close because Matt Campbell plays with his food early on in the non-con but I think Iowa State gets it done sadly with love in North Dakota upset here UNLV at Houston boneheads have Houston 73% I'm going with UNLV to pull off the upset here I think Willie Fritz I mean look I dogged on him a few years ago and it came back to bite me I think he's a good coach I think he's going to get Houston up to respectability this is game one I know UNLV is replacing their quarterback in a couple other pieces but they had a pretty good season last year so I think they're going to start hot and they're going to get Houston in Houston and Willie Fritz's debut Southern Illinois at BYU boneheads love BYU here 95% I'm going with BYU but it's going to be a super close game again I kind of want to go with the upset here but I'm not going to I'm going to go with BYU but I this is the one where I'm like yeah I could go either way Wyoming at Arizona State boneheads have Wyoming 58% and look these are back to back ones where I'm not sure I'm going with Arizona State in this one it's in Tempe I don't really think that does much for the crowd but it's not in Laramie so like Wyoming isn't getting that crowd boost that they got when they took down Texas Tech last year so I'm going with the Sun Devils at home for one of their very few wins this season but that's going to be a close one Final one before we get to the K-State game Thursday night on Fox 7pm UNC at Minnesota the boneheads are going with North Carolina and Mac Brown on the road 61% Kenny Maine isn't there but I think the PJ Fleck bubble is on the verge of bursting so I'm going to have Mac Brown winning on the road at Minnesota Thursday night I think both teams have some injuries to look out for but I'm rocking with Mac Brown and the Tar Heels right it is time for K-State vs UT Martin look I have I'm going to throw in a super specific prediction for every single game so I'm going to have fun here I'm going with seven different players register a statistical rushing attempt so a statistical rushing attempt is a typical running of the ball but also a sack counts as well so I think we're going to see three different quarterbacks and four different handoffs in this game all three quarterbacks attempting a rush or getting sacked and then four folks taking a handoff or backwards pass so seven different players or more register a statistical rushing attempt boneheads have 99% K-State I'm going with K-State I'm going with a shutout win I'm going to have it be 41 to nothing so I'm going to have 41 to nothing two field goals and five touchdowns to start this game the current line 37 and a half so I have K-State covering that big number but I think they can do it 41 to nothing all right that's all we have folks it's been a fun episode talking about a game that counts towards the standings let me know your score prediction tweet tweet at Bosco's boys a score prediction if you get it exactly right maybe they'll be a prize maybe not I don't know depends on the prize budget tomorrow we'll have Derek Young wrapping up our Blitzman preview series and then Friday we'll have a whip around show for you that's all we have so glad to have football back let's have ourselves a Wednesday what do you say all right so for Chauncey the
