My open line number 1-300-01-1170 and the text line 0-457-736-736. Anything you'd like to talk about as I say Sports HQ is your destination for your weekend sporting fix. We will tick off all the big sporting news and of course have plenty of fun in the process. I'll catch up with Matty Bungard one of my Saturday regulars from ESPN rugby league rider and one half of the boom rookies podcast. He'll join me in the next hour. Matty to chat all things rugby league and for those regular listeners to the program will you know that he could talk under water with a mouthful of marbles. Matty Bungard. Justin Wright. He's Wayne Arthur's former tennis coach. He's going to be along as well to talk US Open. What a huge day for Australia will get into some of those results shortly. Warm and windy in Sydney today. Hot and breezy and pretty warm on the Gold Coast. Being a Saturday of course it's who am I today. We'll do that in the next hour of the program. We've got birthdays, did you know all the usual Saturday affair. Okay. We've got to wrap up all the overnight scores and look ahead to the rest of the respective fixtures in the respective sporting rounds. But to kick off Super Saturday the dragons and the eels are just seeing a kick off. So the dragons have made a meal of it. The color of a larva is in for the injured Christian to a polo to today. They've turned the ball over and now we're a minute and a half in and Parramatta in possession about a meter a meter out from the dragons line. So I'll just recap the team news for you. For Parramatta Trent Parrot named a full strength squad as they look to hold off a fast finishing West Tigers and avoid a first wooden spoons as 2018. So Luca Moretti has made his return from a quad injury named on the bench. Now Jake Tungor promoted to the starting side replacing Sean Russell on the wing. Offer Hickey Ogden comes into the team for Kilmer to a lungi. Ethan Sanders, the 18th man, the dragons have staved off that eels attack. So it'll kick from dummy half gone to oh no. I thought it went too long. It's actually come off the torso. I believe of Tyrell Sloane. So it should be a line dropout and line dropout at Wilby. For St. George Elora of course plenty on the line for the dragons with the side clinging onto eight spot on the ladder and a big game following this between the two Queensland teams in the Dolphins and the Bronco. So they need two wins to guarantee their place in the finals. One might do it, but they do have their destiny in their own hands. So Ray Fatella Mariner was added to the bench in place of Lycan King Toggier earlier this week. But Toggier now comes into the 17th. Blake Laurie into the reserves. Michaela Ravelawa, as we mentioned, starts on the wing with Christian Tupillotti ruled out with an hamstering injury. Moses Sewley was listed among the reserves but has been omitted. And one late change this afternoon. Connor Malay's an added to the starting side Jacob Little to miss the match after his wife went into labour this morning. So congratulations to the littles. They're going to lack a bit of punch out of dummy half because he's very quick as Jacob Little. But still, still, I suppose the wife's having a baby. I mean what are you going to do? Hey Darl, I'd love to, but I need to get my team into the eight. First try goes the way of Will Penasini and the eels are over. Four points to an ill kick to come, three and a half gone in the first half. And as we said, I mean, in a St. George Illinois, I missed a really good opportunity to cement a spot in the eight when they fell, not just filled with the shafts, got thumped complacency. I don't think that's going to be an issue. And this is an eel's outfit capable of piling on points. Capable. You know, probably should have beaten but he's been the other week with that lead that they had. So they've got the parameter to come the right is to come the drag. It's two point buffer over a pack of chases, most notably the Broncos and the Dolphins. But they cannot afford to slip up here. When you think about the eels who took the Panthers to the limit around 23, they made the Broncos work over time. So never mind their position on the ladder. They're performing better than that. They're not getting thumped to parameter. So the eels have shown they're not about to go down without a fight. But the thing about it is it doesn't matter what happens with parameter of this game. They need to beat the Tigers next week around 27 to avoid that dreaded wooden spoon. But if they can defeat the dragons today, I mean, they'd love to take that momentum into the game, wouldn't they? So for my dragons, for Flanos, mean the equation, very, very simple, win your last two games, play finals for the first time since 2018, which incidentally was the eels last got the spoon. So it could happen all over again. And you'd think that's enough motivation to ensure they finish your year strongly and don't let the likes of Brisbane or the Dolphins or the Knights or the Raiders run them down. White Raymond is the man in the middle of Matt Neumann, is the man in the Broncos. The eels have won five of their past seven games against the dragons. We're just waiting for this conversion attempt. Moves in, strikes, unsuccessful. Score remains four nil with about five minutes gone in the first out. The dragons have won their last seven games against teams sitting outside the top eight. So there you go. The eels have lost their last four at Conbank Stadium. Michael Sivo needs one try to get 100 tries. You know, that's interesting. So last night in South Splaton realized Cody Walker was on 98 tries. She's on 98. Michael Sivo is on 99. The eels four lead the dragons nil five minutes gone in the first half. Thursday night, of course, the Cowboys defeated a depleted storm side 38 points to 30. They're going to have to lift the Cowboys. That really wasn't good enough. The Bulldogs and the Seagulls last night at the course stayed him. 34 points to 22. Manly side prevailed and good news for manly fans is that turbo, that shoulder injury, not as bad as first thought. And they say that he'll be back for week one of the finals. You can needle that up. So get some scans and we'll miss next week. So that is good news and heard daily Jerry Evans was on with the Mowers Boys this morning and might play clip of that for you later on today. The Panthers too good for the bunnies. 34 points to 12. Coming up later today, 5.30 p.m. tonight at Suncorp Stadium. Huge game in the context of the Dolphins and the Broncos. Then you've got the Sharks and the Warriors. Then the two games on Sunday, don't sleep on the nights too. By the way, they take on the Titans at two o'clock at McDonald Jones Stadium. And then to wrap it up, the Roosters and the Raiders and the NRLW action today. Well, hopefully this result, Orgers will for the men, the dragons, NRLW team. Well done. See how he 42 points to 14 comprehensive victory over Parramatta earlier. It was the Sharks, the latter leaders 22-6 over the Titans. Are they the team in the beta? I tipped the Titans. But they're going along impressively at the moment. That granola side. The two games tomorrow, we've got the Knights and the, sorry, three games tomorrow. I should say the Knights and the Tigers, that kicks off at midday. The Broncos and the Cowboys at 1.45 p.m. and then the Roosters and the Raiders. So we're up to date with all the NRLW action. Now the U.S. Open, this was massive. I went to my little nephew's first birthday party this morning. I had to race back and picked up some stuff from home, packed the bag, jumped in the car to head to the studio. And I quickly stopped off to get a coffee and it was perfect timing because there was Alexi Popron serving for the match. Now, you know, one chance to do it and it got broken back. He won the first two sets, conceded the third to Novak 2-6, and it finally served it out to love. The 28 seed, Australian Alexi Popron has defeated the second seed, Novak Djokovic, 6-4, 6-4, 2-6, 6-4 in a stunning result, a stunning result. And I heard, and AP mentioned this before we had a jet set at 2 o'clock. This is on the crunch time program. The first time since 1973, that the top two seeds have been, and they love this term of tennis, bundled out of the US Open. The first time since 1973, that Alcaras loss was stunning. He was all over the shop car leader. So you think about Jordan Thompson and Chris O'Connell, Alexi Popron, Alex Demonor. You know, this has really opened up now, this tournament really opened up. It was not one of the Aussies. I'd love to see Daniel Medvedev. We know my massive Medvedev fat, massive Medvedev fat. So Popron's now going to play Francis Tiafo. He beat Ben Shelton, the big server in five. And you go back to that stunning upset of Carlos Alcaras in New York. That's opened up the pathway for the Demon and Tom O'Jordan Thompson to make a deep push. Who had, you know, Bottich van Zanshop, the feeding Carlos Alcaras, I don't think many did, has left a gaping hole in that second quarter of the draw. So Alex and Jordan are among the eight players alive in that bracket. Casparude tripped today, took in five sets, two, three-time major finalists. You lost to Alcaras in the decider in New York two years ago, the best credential of those eight. But you think about the Demon. Back to back quarter finals at Roland Garholz and Wimbledon. Taylor Fritz as well, who's still alive, they'll be highly fancy. But I reckon this is the surface. Remember, late in one, the US Open. And Demon's a similar kind of player, loves fast surfaces. This is his chance for the Demon to go really deep. So Jordan Thompson is going to play Matea Analdi, who's a rising Italian. See the number 30 showing signs have been a pretty accomplished all-called player. Chance here for Sevo to get his 100 try and he does. Second try of the afternoon for the parameter, Eels Micah Sevo, crashes over. White Roman points to the spot. Eight points to an ill kick to come. And that is 100 career tries for Micah Sevo, who have been told by incoming coach Jason Riles that is free to look elsewhere for next year. So that was, again, Ravel Arra comes racing out of the line, doesn't make the tackle. And this is why Ravel got dropped this year for Tupelo to. Great finisher on the right wing, great finisher, strong ball carrier, but gets caught out defensively. And if you're going to sprint out of the line, Micah, you've got to make that tackle. You've got to make it. But no, couldn't wrap the ball up. Dragged him in off the wing, created the overlap. That worked to do. Sevo's very strong from five metres out. Spins puts the ball down eight-nil. So what they're going to need now is a missed kick. And in the score next, this is far from ideal. They start here for the dragons. They've been stunned. They look clunky. They look like they're not communicating. The US game to 100 tries, Sevo 114. So they've got to 100 tries quicker than Nathan Blacklock, who took 115 games. Josh had a car 121, Brett Stewart 122. This is in the NRL era, I should add. So in the NRL era, he is the fastest Micah Sevo to 100 career tries. So well done to him. We'll just wait for this conversion attempt to see if it is a successful station RC with a kicking boots on today. We're in the number seven jersey. He's way out in the left-hand touchline. Oh, it's lovely. Lovely, make no mistake. Power out of 10, St. Georgie La Wariel. Maybe it was a good idea for me not to go to the game today. I'd have been kicking and screaming. Still early doors. Still early doors. But gee, I'd like them to score next. I'd really like them to score next. But that was Ravela's fault. I mean, you've got to rush out the line. You've got to make that tackle, Micah. You really, really do. The text line number 045773636. And hit me up on the open line 1-300-01-1170. So yeah, as I was saying, the tennis Jordan Thompson will play Matteo and Aldi. Alex Demon all plays English veteran Dan Evans, who beat dual grand slam semi-finals Karen Kachnoff. This was in the longest US Open match played earlier this week. Dan Evans, by the way, has won all three of his clashes with the Demon. All be at tight affairs, but on important stages. But I'm tipping the Demon in this one. On the women's side, Jacob Kachnoff is flying at the moment. Not playing her best, but it looks like we don't know. But she's certainly on track to defend her crown. To defend her crown. Donna Vekich wins to her to Yang. And we've got a game coming. We'll go live at the moment. In fact, the 29th seed, Alex Androva, is currently 6-2-1-4 against a second seed arena. Sabeline Cassell keep you across that score as well. Premier League action, family-friendly time of night. Arsenal and Brighton, that gets underway at 9-30. Then we've got Nots Forest and Wolves Lester and Villa Ipswich, featuring a couple of Aussies in Mass Longo and Cam Burgess. They are at home to Fulham. Brentford South happened in Everton, Bournemouth, West Ham, Man City, Chelsea Crystal, Palace, Newcastle, Tottenham, there's a big game. And the biggest game of the round, Man United Liverpool. The great rivals. Come on, you red devils. Gee, they've been savvy. They've been really good. The red devils in the transfer market. And Arsenal just resigned. Raheem Sterling from Chelsea. So all the murmurs there were that he was on his way out. Raheem Sterling. So Arsenal have assigned to him. There we've got the Wallabies taking on Argentina in the early hours of the morning. Of course, Argentina with their tails up after that huge win against the All Blacks. The Wallaby is a bit of a reality check. You know, there are a couple of good wins against Wales, but against the World Champions in South Africa. Different kettle of fish. Two, the motor racing. The Monza GP, Lewis Hamilton, top the times for Mercedes and Friday's overnight second practice session. By the finest emergence, just ahead of Lando Morris, Daniel Riccardo was pretty decent, actually started on the sauce for his Visa Cash App Red Bull team. Seven-time World Champion Hamilton clocked a fastest lap of the minute, 20.738 seconds at Monza. Three thousands ahead of Lando Norris, who at the moment, Lando, the closest challenger to Maxar Stappen's current V1 supremacy. He trails at the moment, Lando, by 70 points in the driver's championship. For a stunning win at last weekend's Dutch GP, I think it's probably a bridge too far. But I didn't think the gap would be as close as you've seen it this year. I didn't think the chasing pack would be catching up to RB. And certainly, Maxar Stappen's frustration has well and truly show. In the AFLW, this got underway last night, too, North Sydney Oval. Stones throw from our Sydney studio. Sydney, too good for Collingwood 50 to 35. West Coast 40 over Richmond 39. And the match just completed. Well, there's a big, big sound in the west of the town. The GWS Giants defeated the Western Bulldogs in the AFLW 72 to 9, 72 to 9. Later on today, Essendon and Frier, Gold Coast and Kilda, Geelong, Melbourne Port Adelaide, and Adelaide Hawthorne, Carlton, and then Brisbane and North Melbourne. Brisbane and North Melbourne, too. The cricket overnight, England and Sri Lanka, are currently involved in the second test at Lords of England. 427 in their first and extra Lanka role for 196 England in response are one for 25. So they lead very comfortably by 256 runs. They got nine in the shed. So it was always one way traffic wasn't a this serious to the Paralympics. Day two medals, a couple of golds for Australia, too. Corey Boddington in the men's C45,000 metre time trial in the cycling. So well done to you. Corey and then Emily Petricola. Also in the cycling, this is the women's C4 category, the 3,000 metre individual pursuit. So a couple of golds there for Corey Boddington and Emily Petricola. Well done. Jessica Gallagher, silver in the women's B-1000 time trial cycling. And then we go back to the day one, medals. Tom Gallagher, men's 50 metre freestyle S10, won gold. Silver to LaCacia Patterson, it's a bit of a star, women's 400 metre freestyle S9, and a couple of bronze to Brendan Hall in the men's 400 metre freestyle S9, and Rowan Crothers, the men's 50 metre freestyle S10. Hit me up on the text line 04, 5, 7, 7, 3, 6, 7, 3, 6. Now Saturdays, don't forget, Saturdays, you're free sporting tips and predictions for the weekend. All right. So hit me up now, 04, 5, 7, 7, 3, 6, 7, 3, 6, 3, sporting tips for the weekend. I have gone Zach Leimax to score. So that's one, Zach Leimax to score. I've gone the Wallabies to, well, I think Argentina win, but Wallabies within 1 to 12 of Argentina tomorrow morning. And then I have Manu to beat Liverpool. Is that outrageous? I'm a bit of a heart tipper over a head tipper. Dragons are over, go you Red V. Wasn't Zach Leimax, not to say I'm not still alive. So 10 points to 4, kick to come. Is that kind of my lies? And it might be. He was in the side late call up because Jacob Little's wife's having a baby. We'll just have a look at the replay here. Short side play, Jaden Silverpokes for the line. Still going where it gets out of one. Turns it back on the inside to Conner in support. He sort of backs over the line and flicks it over. What's the ball down? T-R-I-A, as many lies would say. That's a T-R-I try. So well done of the dragons. They're on the board. 10 points to 4, kick to come. Lomax will throw this over, make it 10-6. Back to a 4-point ball game. That's all they needed for their own confidence in Georgia Lora. I reckon that wakes him up and I reckon they're going to win the game. Oh, now hang on. They might call double movement here. So it was awarded. Let's have a look at the replay. But I wonder if the bunker will say his momentum is ceased here, Conner, and has promoted the football. Having said that, I mean, the referee was right on top of it and made a firm decision. So I just want to wait and see if they have confirmed this try. Mind you, it always looks a lot worse in slow mode, doesn't it? Particularly, particularly. Try confirmed. There we go. Try confirmed. Parramatta 10, the dragons 4, kick to come. So we'll just await this conversion attempt by the inbound Parramatta Eel for season 2025. Zach Lomax. What do you reckon Gutha will play next year? You can see him as this roving ball playing lock in the manner of a curt man. Couldn't you? Maybe a kamikinis? Makes no mistake, adds the extras. Reasonable crowd. I'd estimate probably about maybe 12,000, 12, 13,000. It's always tougher, isn't it, to get a good crowd in 3 o'clock on a Saturday. So much kid sport and various things going on. Oh, gee. I'll take it. Having said that, if Parramatta at school that tried against me, I would have been yelling blue murder. That's a double movement, but it all evens out in the wash. Doesn't it? Good to see Moses, slowly, up and about. The predicting him to return in the finals. Have to be deep in the finals from that MCL. Christian Tuapalosu hobbling around on the crutches of that hamstring injury. And then you've got Ben Murdock, Missilla, who unfortunately, is that a good year, BWM, out for the season with a foot injury. Hillstorm Hilary, good afternoon to you. Ava Jills. How the hell did you draw the short straw on such a big day for the dargons? I'm a pro. I just do what I'm told, Hillstorm. Good luck to you, but secretly hope they lose in the Broncos. Ever win for Kevin's dream to continue. Come on, Hillstorm. Come on, Hillstorm. That's all right. It's all in, look, it's all in good fun. I don't begrudge anyone to choose my, oh, some of my best mates can't eat your dragons to lose. One of my best mates, Daniel, is a Mattiels fan. Mattiels fan. And this is just for pride, nothing more. But the dragons have the destiny in their own hands. It's rare that you do pertain that struggled in recent years. And if you said, look, you've got to beat the 16th-place eels. And what a camera coming at the moment, 11th, I think of them. Yeah. And then you've got Canberra at home, who's differential is worse than yours. If you were to tell me, look, you've got those two games, you win them, you make the eight. I mean, you can't ask them much more, really, can you? You have control of your own destiny. If you're good enough, if you're good enough, you will find a way. Oh, four, five, seven, seven, three, six, seven, three, six, the text line number. OK, so Saturday, of course, you three sporting tips, you three sporting predictions. I've got Zach Lomax to score today for the dragons. The Wallabies to lose by a one to 12 margin to Argentina. Is that really a tip? This is just no one's got any faith that Wallabies. Who was that that made the joke about going to Wallabies training? And as a captain, captain, captain, captain, captain, because everyone's been a captain. And the man united to beat Liverpool in the Premier League, is well taken there too by Sloane. Hit me up in the open line too. If you're out and about today, your kids sport. As it finished, my son, soccer's finished. I was coaching the team. I've got to say, I felt a bit lost Saturday morning. It's nice to be freed up, but didn't know what to do with myself. What are you, our old coaches doing the off-season? I know they're all mad, and they're probably just burying themselves in their spreadsheets. But I love a good motivational talk, as the camera's paired to Regan Campbell Gillard. The word is that he has agreed to a deal with the Dragons. This is what I'm hearing. Nothing confirmed, of course. They didn't want to announce it, because this is Parramatta's last home going for the year, and they are playing, of course. The St. George Illawarra Dragons. He was agitating for a three-year contract. Understandably, they didn't want to offer him more than two, which is not unheard of for forwards and front rails, in particular, that are on the wrong side of 30. But if you use him right, he could be a decent acquisition. He played origin just last year, Regan Campbell Gillard. 0-4-5-7-7-3-6-7-3-6 is the text line number. We're up and running for this Saturday afternoon, a special edition of Sports HQ. Plenty more to come on the program. Julian King of the Chair. Great to have your company on SCN 1170 AM in Sydney. SCN Q 693 AM in Brisbane. SCN 1620 on the Gold Coast and through the SCN app. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavour. Wings, beers, and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-1170. This is Sports HQ on SCN. Yeah, great to have your company Sports HQ special time this Saturday afternoon, 3-6 PM Eastern Standard Time. Jump on the text 0-4-5-7-7-3-6-7-3-6. Now, it was 10 points to 6, and I said my three sporting tips, I think the low max of score. He came desperately close to scoring. Looked like a bounce, and then what's happened? Paramount have gone up the other end of score. I missed tackle again by Michaela Ravelauer. So, Civo goes through, throws it back on the inside to Clint Galthus and backing up, as all good full-back should do. The score is now 14 points to 6, kick to come. This is not pretty. This is not pretty for the drag. And so, yes, of course, as I said, give me three sporting tips. I've gone low max to score. I said the wallabies will lose to Argentina, but by 1-12 margin, then I've got Mann U to beat Liverpool. Speaking of rugby, Cuzzy's given us a shout on the open lie. 1-300-01-1170. Hey, Cuzzy. Hey, yeah, Angel. Good, mate. Mate, I'd be getting on the all-banks tonight at 6.75 against the box. Oh, it's reasonable. I don't know if they're going to beat them at home, though. Are they South Africa? We've won four from five in Joe Berg, last five, right? And it's Raised's first test in South Africa. You'll want to win. And the box are really... But they haven't had a lot for a while there, but there's a team that will do it. No, I reckon it'll be the black. They do. All right. Pick off some five premium local time, because they don't like to relate there, because I think they're ranked number 34 in the world for homicide. Okay, yeah, it's all right. So get it done before dark is what you're saying, right? Are they 275 of your blacks? See, that's pretty juicy to us, Raised. Yeah, okay. And by the way, I've got Barramatta in a multi with the all blacks and a few others. Yeah. And I've got Barramatta in a wick. That role, the role, the dragons tonight. Well, they're up 16 points to six at the moment. And I was... And I was not going to bet on the dogs against Manley, and I thought that was a danger game for the dogs. Yeah, I tipped Manley. Yeah, that was wise. It was very wise of your cousin not to go there, not to touch it. No, one of those games I didn't want to touch. What else is in your multi? Um, oh, I have to look at it. Toss it, remember. You're a set and forget kind of like, we're a week later, you just punch it in. Oh, there you go. I got up across 38 legs. Oh, five. No, I've got a nine leg of Garmin. Yeah. What is it, Penrith? Tick. North doing the cheat shell final tomorrow. Yeah, go the bears. Carramatta to beat dragons. Brisbane, Franco to beat dolphins. Nala to beat Warriors. Doing the box. You're dealing to beat the box. Yep. Arches in and to beat Aya. Rooses to beat Canberra and Sydney. Head to head AFL to beat GWF. Okay, that's interesting. So, you're sitting to GWS. Head to head. So, that's going to stretch a bit. Final. We eat pretty... 53 bucks. That's pretty conservative, though, because you like just head to heads. Most of them favourites, were the exception of what the yields. And they're the all-blacks. Yeah. So, there's the value, but everywhere else were favorites, weren't they? So, you know, Penrith, Cornola, for example, Brisbane, I think. I've got a good one up last week, and I had that horse. That's the one in Randmick, that's Jamie, James, and Donald, that Jolie's... Oh, and they're not paid like... He won by like six lengths. I had him in the multi. Yeah. Paid about three bucks. And I bought the multi right. All the rest of my favorites. Like in our hour or whatever. Yeah. That's the way to do it. Oh, it's this side mate. Can't go and break back in winter. Some people get a bit too fancy with these things, don't they? Yeah, well, I don't... I don't live back horses, because it's too much of a variable. Well, I don't know if horses that well. Yeah. Just Jamie, James, but... 40. Because you kind of like no, 40. And I just think... I think in the box, I'd cherry-right to be beaten this weekend, and I can't wait for us to beat them, because there's a bit dirty loose on the wall. I would point them. Oh, man. Yeah, worth 40. Well, we'll find out what tomorrow morning, won't we? All right mate, here's the one. Good only cars eat safe travels. One, three hundred. Oh, one, eleven, seventy, sixteen points to six. Parramatta lead, the dragons is panning the Shane Flanagan in the box. He looks far from impressed. Three errors today, by Michaela Ravelauer. Maybe that's part of the reason why Flanagan was prepared to move him on. And now... I get to pack a scrum and have the feed 20 meters out from the dragons line, and a chance to extend this ten-point lead at home. A45-736-736. I-H-Y-U-I-WATE-AT-TRY. It says O-7. Very cryptic, but you've seen me. Your text chances are I'll read it out on here. Now, penalty. It is a penalty. Do they take the two? No, no. They want more. They are hungry for more. Parramatta. I guess the question here is, can they play 80 minutes of football? Because, you know, this is the side that has a few mistakes in them, that can see it a few quickly. The dragons just need to hold on here, and it's a knock-on there by Penna Cerny. Or was that touch-byes in Georgia or Laura? All right, knock-on by Penna Cerny. He's a lucky there, the drag-g. They looked over for all money. Trent Barrett, former dragons captain standing up, throwing his hands up in the air, butchered opportunity. But they got to take their chances. Ravelauer with a carry. And they need him to step up. Two Ravelauer mistakes have led to two eels tries today. Fina, oh, he was in the hole too. Fina slipped. He had no one in front of him, Penna Cerny. Trent's gone begging. He's a big carry now by Laura. Advanced as a ball. Three minutes into eels territory. Second tackle. Couchman out the back to Hunt. He plays a short ball to Jaden Sewa. Oh, four, five, seven, seven, three, six, seven, three, six. All right, so I've tipped Zach Lomack to school, and I reckon he will. We've still got time. Gualabis won't embarrass themselves against Argentina. They'll lose, but only by one to 12 in Man U will beat Liverpool. Now, this sort of came up in my feed when I saw in the "I'm Love and League" show last night, and it's got to do with Brad Fitler. Now, I've got a lot of time for Brad Fitler. I only saw it afterwards. I won't play the audio, but somebody talked about something inappropriate. He said, oh, what's he said inappropriate? It wasn't quite the inappropriate. And we've got to try this in Georgia, Laura. And it is Matt Feeney who's going, are they going to go upstairs here? We'll just wait. We'll come back to that story about Fitler in a moment. We'll see what White Roman has to say. He's gone, no try. No try. So we'll just have a look at the replay here. He didn't get up celebrating Feeney. He stepped inside Gutho. Oh, you know, the balls come out. Yeah, so the ball... Now, is he going to call or strip, though? All right, so no try. So the ball's been ripped out, but was it part of the tackle is a question. So make a decision. I don't have the... The refsies. You know, that'd be harsh in paramedic. It looks like he was just attempting a tackle, but if it's called a strip, then they'll get the penalty. The dragon. So no try is the ruling. There'll be no try. And regather, put the ball down. The bunker adjudication. Well, they're fast-forwarded to the grounding here. Shame we don't have the refsies today, Mitchie. We'll have to get you to monitor there from the cool venting area. So what they're trying to determine as to whether Clint Gufferson has stripped the ball from Matt Feeney, because there were two other reels in the tackle. The penicine and cartwright both involved in the tackle will say penicine was. It looks sort of like a raking motion with Gufferson's right hand. And it was the left arm carry from Matt Feeney. Comes out and then advances. And then it goes over the tri-line and he puts the ball down, just waiting that bunker decision. Delirated for a while. So they will call no try, but what will the next play be? What will the ruling be by the referee? So the question is, will it be just a simple knock-on paramedic feed? So we've got the scrum feed now packing 10 meters out. Yep, okay. Jack Bird's got the ball in hand. So 16 points to six. It stopped the clock with about so just under 30 minutes remaining in the first half. So the dragons will have the feed. The drags will have the feed. It looks like they're called a paramedic knock on there. They sent it out to the right, now at the back to Sloan. It looks a reflex, Sloan through scores. So one play off the scrum, and they're over the dragons. And now, oh, has he scored? No try. Well, that's another no try ruling. They're going to check the grounding here by Sloan. Or are they going to call an obstruction here by Zach Lomax? Who's collided? This will be a no try. Guaranteed, no try. No obstruction ruling. Well, the dragons, no luck going their way at the moment. And this will be a penalty. You're not happy, but he did. That is the rule. That's the thing, people go, wouldn't have got there. Look, if you make the rule black and white, then you can't complain. Because you know definitively one way or other, whether it was the correct decision or not. Whether it was a penalty or not. Yeah, as a dragons fan, it frustrates me. Because the heels player wouldn't have got to slow, but it doesn't matter. You can't collide with somebody. In defense, if you are a decoy runner, you've got to keep going through the line. Which drives me mental, drives me nuts when players just stop in the line, throw the hell. We wouldn't have got there anyway. Not the point. You know the rules. Why would you even flirt with it? And yeah, players in the defensive line, they get brushed, they take a dive, they get all that. But it's incumbent upon the block runners to take that out of the equation by not coming into contact with somebody in the defensive line. Cartwright now, having a run. And there's, hasn't Bryce Cartwright had a career resurgence here at the parameter Eels? Bulldogs, like a winter romance, says Mark. It was great while it lasted, but it's come to an end, take care. Oh, little premature there, Mark. I did say, look, cannery are ahead of where I thought they'd been, where ahead of where most people thought they'd be. They've been outstanding this year, cannery. But they are, I think, what the second most, what the second most inexperienced side in the competition. And I think at this end of the season, that's where it starts to count. The record against the top eight teams, as well as they're played, is not fantastic. And I think when the intensity steps up and fine as football, I have a feeling they'll just come a bit sure. Next year, they'll be better. Year after they'll be better. Keep come through from the Eels scooped up by Zach Lomax, tackled by Dylan Brown in the end goal. And it'll be your dragons drop out. They should go short here, and they do go short, because they want to try and get that ball back. And up they go, knock back by Lola, or they call that a knock on. No, they're regathered by the dragons, okay? So the balls fall in their way. It's Toby Couchman who picked it up. Now it's in the hands of Max Fino. Parramatta 16th's in Georgia. Laura Dragon, 16 and a half to go. In the first half, later on today, 5.30 big game, the Dolphins, and the Broncos there at Suncorp Stadium. And then the 7.35pm game tonight at Pointsport Stadium. So he's a crown of the sharks at home to the New Zealand Warriors. Keep those texts coming in on 04. 5.7, 7.3, 6.7, 3.6. So I do want your three sporting tips and predictions for the weekend. So I've gone Lomax to score. The wallabies to get within one to 12 of Argentina. And then Manute to beat Liverpool. And as I speak, the dragons have turned the ball over. They are going like absolute bastards at the moment. They got, they can't concede. Oh, I'll go so fast to save the dragons, concede here. That's their game going. And whatever happens if they lose to the eels today, well, one of the Broncos, the Dolphins going to leapfrog them into 8th spot. They could be as low as 11th by the end of this round. If they do lose to the second bottom team, he'll still a chance of taking out the spoon. No one to blame but themselves. Is that, oh God, desperately close to the line. The three left in the set, Parramatta on the attack. They set it out to the right, lofted ball over the top. And we've got another try to Parramatta. Dear, oh dear, Jake Tungo is in the side for Sean Russell. Got a collision here, Dewey, between Leyla and Fido. A couple of dragons down, looking a bit worse for where Shane Flanagan looking very, very unhappy, but this lead is now 14 points. They're beyond the two converted tries. And this is not looking good for St. George Lawora. 1-300, 0-1-11-70, that is the open line number. Breaking back with more sports HQ this Saturday afternoon. Turn up the volume, turn up the flavour. Wings, beers and sporting glory, only at Winghouse. Join the conversation, call 1-300-01-11-70. This is Sports HQ on SEM. It chills with you this Saturday afternoon. And in Parramatta, I thought you might bob up at some point until I'm come to the party, late chills, been working this morning, I've turned on this here. And a great news. I know who you're backing. I hope you have a Mackers voucher as a consolation prize in the way home go. So listen, don't count your chickens, mate. You're up 16-0, weren't you? Against Brisbane last week. The margin at the moment, 14. Although, Ravelar might as well have a blue and gold jersey on at the moment. Parramatta on the attack again. Five minutes remaining in the first half. Parramatta 20 lead the dragons six. Parramatta 20 lead the dragons six. Don't forget your speed. Three sporting tips for the weekend. I've gone limax to score against the club that he'll represent next year. Now, I've gone the wallabies to lose within 1-12 to Argentina and man you to be Liverpool. So hit me up on the text line. What are your sporting predictions for the weekend? Now, as I mentioned before the break, in relation to Brad Fitlup, and he was working in commentary last night for Channel 9, depending on South Sydney game. And he's come under five for a, well, you may have seen it, an awkward interview. We hear the Australia Olympic gold medal winning sisters Jessica and Naomi Fox, who are proud Penrith representatives. And I saw this as I said when I was doing I'm Love and League last night. I was popping up the social media and I'm, you're trying to put two and two together because sometimes people exaggerate and misread situations. So Danica Mason, Alana Ferguson, they crossed to him on the sidelines, who's standing there. And he said, I'm waiting for the kiss camp to come on. On me, Fitlup told me, is it's not happening. Then he turned to Naomi Fox said, do you like it? She goes, huh? Do you like it? The environment, he liked the footy, and she sort of looked a bit flustered by it. And he said, yeah, yeah, yeah. Are we live? Yeah, we're on. Oh, we're live. Yeah, love the footy, you're not on it, guys. Not the worst thing in the world, but I've seen the headlines cringe worthy. And it was cringe worthy. And like I said, I like Brad Fitlup. It's good guys, very accessible. But I reckon if he had his time again, Freddie, he'd rethink that. Because sometimes, you know, these things come across your head and you go, oh, should I say that? You've got to take that half a second. And it happens to me in radio too. We think of a joke or not that there was a joke, necessarily. But you think of something to say in the heat of the moment, where in hindsight, yeah, probably shouldn't have said that. Sean Lane bus through and he scored. 24 points to six. That is waffle defense by the dragons. And now I'm getting angry. But that was tissue paper thin. This is a team who has a spot at the top eight on the line against a team running 16th. And Sean Lane has just walked through this defense. Who is that that missed it? Was that one of them being the captain, Ben Hunt? Let's have a look at the replay here. It's a bent. Yeah, it was Ben Hunt. I think he looked like he almost went for a one-on-one strip. He throws his head back and he's very disappointed. And so as he should be, that was an absolute shocker. An absolute shocker. Great radio for your dragons. He's six eight. Thank you, six eight zero. Why don't you just call the game? We'd love to. Unfortunately, we don't have the rise to call the 3 p.m. game on the Saturday, but I can keep you updated as best I can. And I'll try to remain a little bit calm, hey, with a serenity now. But when you're fighting for your finals, hopes against a team running 16th. And you can see the 24 points in a half of football. Possibly 26. This is appalling. They're going to need the best half of football they've played this year. Because I reckon he's going to get this over Dejan Aussie. Then the margin would be 20 points. Can you come back from 20 points? They're going to have to come out the blocks. It's an absolute shocker by the dragons. Left foot strikes it, comes around through the sticks, adds the extras. Paramount of 26th and Georgia Loire are six minute 50 remaining in the first half mark on the text line. Flano's got the look of someone who's already spent his top eight bonus here. He's just cutting a forlorn figure. Dejan Young there with a cap, the glasses, and the hand over the mouth. You know, what are they going to say at half time? Can they put the rev up? Is this a team that can score 20 unanswered points to get themselves back in the game? This is absolutely appalling by the dragons and I'm embarrassed. I'm embarrassed by this performance of these half of football. Breaking back with more. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavour. Wings, beers, and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-1170. This is Sports HQ on SEM. Here, Jules with you on SEM Sports HQ this Saturday afternoon, half time at Kombank Stadium, Parramatta 26 leading the dragons sixth. They've had 60% of the ball, so 60% possession. The drag has completed at 66% 14-21 sets. Parramatta 88%, 23-26. What about this average set distance for St. George, Laguara? 27.1 metres. That is an absolute shock of the eels. Five line breaks to one. They have an 18 tackle breaks to the dragons 14. More offloads, more receipts, more passes thrown. So much on the line and they serve up this cross in the first half. Dragons made 204 tackles. Miss 20 tackles. Eight errors. Actually got the better of the penalties for three. Oh, there you have it. So the season's on the line and they're trailed by 20 against a team who may still end up getting the wooden spoon. Hit me up on the text line. 04-5-7-7-3-6-7-3-6. Parramatta says, "I want to delay half time." Just put me out of my misery, please. Thank you to Stormy Daniel to from Prairie Road. I'll get to your text with regards to Balmain and West's. And that whole rift, we'll talk about that after the break at 4 o'clock Eastern Standard Tomer. Catch up with ESPN rugby league writer Matty Bungard as well. One half of the Boomrookies podcast to chat more about rugby league. Probably have a south spin on top of that. Hit me up on the text line 04-5-7-7-3-6-7-3-6. He's three sporting tips for the weekend and the open line number 1-300-01-11-70. One hour down, two to go. Jules in the chair at SCN Sports HQ this Saturday afternoon. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavour. Wings, beers and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-11-70. This is Sports HQ on SCN. Hey, welcome back everyone. Sports HQ at this special time Saturday afternoon. Julian King with you right across the SCN network, 11-70 AM in Sydney. SCN Q 693 AM in Brisbane. 16-20 on the goal coast and through the SCN app half-time at Combat Stadium for the first of the three Super Saturday Games. The dragons needed to win to have a shot at playing finals football. And they're trailing a team that may still win the spoon by 20 points at half-time. 26 points to six dragons. Have had a couple of disallowed tries. But the defence has been nothing short of appalling. And knowing flat out as I do, he'll be putting an absolute rocket up them. Look, if it was 10 points, 12 points, 14 points, you might say, OK, there are chads, 20 points. Could just be a bridge too far. What is this going to do to their confidence? Hit me up on the text line. 0-4-5-7-7-3-6-7-3-6. You three sporting tips for the weekend. So I've gone low max to score in this game this afternoon. The Wallabies, a noble loss to Argentina. They'll get within 12 points. And I've got a man united to knock off Liverpool in the Premier League, which had a bit of Premier League as well in the last hour of the programme. I'll speak to Matt Bungard from ESPN and the Boone Rookie Podcast in a matter of moments to chat all things rugby league. And later on this hour too, we'll catch up with Justin Wright. He was Wayne Arthas, former coach to chat. We'll talk US Open tennis where the Aussie men are doing exceedingly well. And that's led, of course, by this fantastic victory. Earlier today, Alexi Poppen, four sets over the second seed, Novak Djokovic. So the Ailes, 26 to dragons, six later on today. We've got the Dolphins and the Broncos. That follows this game in the Sharks and the Warriors. The two games tomorrow, the Knights and the Titans and the Roosters and the Raiders. In the NRLW, it was the Sharks 22, too good for the Titans. Six, the Dragons, 42, 14 over the Ailes. And the Games tomorrow, the Knights and the Tigers at Midday Broncos. Cowboys won 45. The Roosters and the Raiders at 6.30. Wallabies and Argentina. In the early hours of tomorrow morning, this is part of the rugby championship. A couple more goals for Australia. Day two of the Paralympics. We've got stacks of Premier League action. Don't forget the Monza GP. Daniel Riccardo, pretty impressive in second practice field. The Visa Cash App Red Bull team out in the soft set. One of the quicker, I think, eight fastest time. It might have been eight fastest time. So we'll keep you up to date with all the live sport as well. In fact, just before we get to Matt Bungard, the US Open. Rina Sabalenka has defeated Alexandra Over, the 29th seed. She came back from a set down to win 26, 6, 1, 6, 2, 26, 6, 1, 6, 2. Now, Daniel from Prairiewood says Jules. Director Gary Leo's revelations about Balmain considering removing themselves from the joint venture is beyond moronic. A non-financial 10% share gifted by West Magpies, as a sign of Goodwill, where Western suburbs have paid Balmain's debts, funded their football club in Junior League annually, and retained the Monarchy. Yet they've quite a lot of faith in the majority shareholder. What an ungrateful bunch of dinosaurs. The media release Balmain sent out yesterday refuting Leo's comments was damage control. But the email trial published in the nine media suggests that all Malmain directors share Leo's sentiments. West should take back Balmain's non-financial 10% share, shift the franchise to South West Sydney full-time, and rebrand the entity as the MacArthur Magpies. A lot of people agree with you. You can't find a lot of allies to the Balmain rugby league football club at the moment. Daniel, I touched upon this last night on the program. The statement came out and I was stunned when the statement read, "What was published in Sydney Morning Herald was not true." So hang on, what are you saying that Gary Leo did not say those things to Michael Chambers? He freely volunteered those quotes to Michael Chambers. So now they're like, "No, no, no, no, the boards completely in bed with the Holman Barnes group, and we're happy with everything going on, the bit-estration of the club." And then, as you said, the email trail, confidential email trial published, suggests that they're far from singing from the same email sheet, and that a number of the directors in the Balmain rugby league football club board are very unhappy, very unhappy with Holman Barnes group. Have an implemented the recommendations of the review, why does Barry O'Farrell have to reapply for his job? Okay, that's legitimate. But it stands to start contrast, doesn't it, Daniel, to this? As you called it, PR play, that suggests that we're all holding hands and singing kumbaya. But they don't have any cards. They're not holding any cards. So I'm not sure what the point of this agitation is, or I'm really not sure. Apart from the fact that, you know what, the NRL, they wouldn't allow this divorce to happen. I don't think they'd ever ratify it, would they? O45773676, I know you'd definitely cover Jules, but I'd love to add my congratulations to Alexi Popper in Fantastic Achievement. He was huge and did it in four as well. You know what was funny? He was leading two sets to love, had a quick squeeze at the betting markets, and they're still both paying the same amount of money to win. Such is Novak's achievements, coming back from two sets to love down, in grand slayer tournaments. The fact that he could be leading two sets to love and not be favorite to win the match. There's a lot about his stature in the game, but it's getting old and Novak as good and as fit as he is. Miss Popper and hell of a player, hell of a player. So we got the demon alive and Jordan Thompson alive and Lexi Popper and alive. And that, you know, as you said, the first time since 1973, that the first two seeds have lost before the fourth round, or as the tennis fishing artist like to say, been bundled out before the fourth round. It's great for the game, but wow, hasn't that draw opened up? And it's just a chance for the likes of the demon to go really deep. I think my men med though. Ed Videv. Your chance to add to his one and only US Open. All right, let's talk all things rugby league with our dear friend on the program. Matti Bungard from ESPN and the Boom rookies podcast. He's back from some kind of overseas. So journey from not mistaken. Bung is good afternoon to you. Hey, Jules, how's it going? Good mate. Did you get to Spurs Stadium? Did you? Sorry mate. Did you get over to Spurs Stadium and we're right and saying? Oh, yeah, yeah, I did. Yeah, I did that. Ellen Rhodes for a lead. Do you know what a game, which they lost, which was great. That was definitely worth a lot of play around the world for. Taylor Swift at Wembley is great. Yeah, so Taylor Wembley. Good on you. Still, I did. Yeah, it was brilliant. So wasn't a particularly cruel summer then? No, not at all. Thanks, man. Not at all. Although I would say the summer in Ireland that we drove around for a few days was 13 degrees and raining every day. Beautiful country, but I can see why every person that lives there moves here. And to think that it's August's and Brisbane are churning out 35 degree days. We hit 30 degrees. The day of the moment was 29 degrees here. Right, he did 30 degrees. The warmest August day, I think, in Sydney since 1995. Today was beautiful as well. Yeah, anyway, but we're very lucky. Yeah, we are. We are indeed. So Leeds, I think I read today too, that's Ian Hart's birthday. So there you go. And Leeds, you're not a great penalty taker. I couldn't be wrong, but I think it's Ian Hart's per say. Yes, if it is your birthday, happy birthday, Ian Hart. Back under way in the second half, Paramount at 26th of drag at 6th. I mean far out. Now, what does Flano say to his team at half time? The defence is shocking, but my God, I mean, this is a team that might still get the wooden spoon. Imagine saying, well, if your destiny is in your own hands, you just got to beat these 16-place eels and potentially play finest football and you can give it up 26 and a half. Horrible. Yeah, crazy. I mean, the funniest part is the, you know, this game is essentially meaning that's the parameter in the sense that whether they win or lose this game next week is still a straight shootout, but it wouldn't fit. I did tip him out of that. I just had a feeling that the dragon, this was a really obvious flat-down spot for a team that I think has overachieved a little bit this year. I don't think they're as good as their win-loss record indicators. I just think it's, by and large, a pretty soft NFL competition this year, and I really outside of the roosters' door and tenders can't see anyone making huge amounts of noise in terms of winning it. So, look, I mean, I thought the dragons would improve under Flanogan, like quite a lot, and they definitely have. Yeah. But I did think that, like, I was a bit shocked like, you know, you just kind of look down at the ladder when they're like, oh, the dragons are seventh. What's going on there? And it's like, well, I don't know. But, look, they're still a work in progress, I think. And then today has been a stark reminder of their shortcomings. Well, I can tell you, you know, I play basketball. Dylan Brown just kind of wouldn't let him put him next year. Oh. Yeah, less than two minutes in the second half. Oh, I've gone into the other room to take this call. So, I wasn't watching, but, yeah, good, good, good, good to know. I am in July, I do run a tip-in competition for Patreon subscribers for our podcast, where the format is you pick one match per week every week. But the trick is you've got to tip every single team in the comp at least once, and you've got to bounce. But even number of home and away tips over the season, and you've got to not take any team more than three. But she can't depend on, like, 10 times for example. Anyway, we called it the call-trank up. And the guy, I mean, I'm somehow in first, despite being one of the worst tips around, in, like, out of, like, 200 people. And the guy in second has the dragon. So, I'm stoked with this result. - There you go. - I lock up, I lock up the trophy if the roof has went to my. So, happy day. Well, it's nice to see that you're as the South's fans winning something this year. - Exactly right. - Yeah. 30 points to six. He'll throw this over two days. And I'll see about to be 32 points to six. So, this defeats his non-existent vice in George La Wara. You know what, I was going to go to the game, but then I called in to do this shift. And I'm kind of glad that I'm not at the game today. I'm going to be a miserable get. - Were you confident at all before? - No, not at all. Look, I thought, you know, there's too much at stake. And you look at the Sir George La Wara pattern, they play a good game that a bad game, a good game to a bad game. - Yep. - And they had a shock against Grinnola. And I thought, okay, this is a game where they have to win, they should do enough. They don't need any more motivation. And there's Max Fino, this time it's got turned around, but their outside defense is really, really bad. - They're finally getting guys to play tough. And they've done it this year. They've been one of the tougher teams in the competition, but I just think their outside back situation is really not great at the moment. And they're going to lose one of Max two. So it's going to get that aspect. I mean, they've got Val, so that kind of, and they kind of even got a little bit. I think they're taking their careers, one of Max a bit better. But yeah, their outside back stuff is their main concern. So for instance, how they're going to rectify that next year. But I guess with this result, yeah, it's out of their hand now. And a Brisbane who we put, you know, we were writing a british for three or four weeks ago, and now a massive chance to still make it in. - It's that stunning, isn't it? And it's an interesting approach taken by Kevin Walters. It basically is acting like here where we'll play fine as football boys. And you saw how defined he was in the press conferences. No, no, we'll make the act. What are you talking, no, no, no. If you make, no, what's his if, no, we'll make it. We'll make it. So I got to beat the Dolphins tonight, and then is it Melbourne? They got the last round. - It is. And I think that given Melbourne rested everybody this week that they won't be resting on. - Correct. - Correct. - And when Melbourne have an amazingly good record over Brisbane at the best of times, especially at Suncorb, I think the only win they've had over them there in recent years is that same picture last year when Melbourne did rest all their players. But they won't be doing that this time. So it's a massive test of Brisbane. But again, the storm will, I guess, I think they might still maybe just play it a bit conservative given there's really nothing at stake for them. And we already saw them lose Papenhaus into an injury on Thursday night. So you might see them take a more cautious approach. Who knows? But yeah, Brisbane have got to get the Dolphins first in the next round, which I think should be a cracker. - Yeah. And then of course, Newcastle is the other one that people aren't really talking about. They got the Titans at home. And then who have they got in the last round, the Knights? But this is another team that are not yet out of it. - Yeah, they play the Dolphins at home at home next week as well. - Yeah, OK. - If the Dolphins win tonight and the Knights win, then that game is basically the fact their finals go. My co-host Campo laid that situation out for me last week. But I think the Knights are going to make the finals a lot. Mate, what are you talking about? And then he ran through how the Dragons are probably going to lose the game. How Brisbane would get smoked by Melbourne in the last game after beating the Dolphins and that the Knights would have it all known. And they went, "Geez, maybe you're right." And so, yeah, it's not in their own hands. Yeah, I guess, but because Brisbane could win both the games and then it wouldn't matter. But they've got a game which are the Knights do. - Yeah, they do. They really do. Melbourne, think about Melbourne. We've discussed this from time to time. They never look like they're absolutely smoking, are they? But resting live in plays, then Papenhausen went down early. And yeah, they lost to the Cowboys at home. It's still scored 30 points. I mean, that big win against Penrith when they needed to. The good team's do just enough, don't they? And there's something about Melbourne this year which I probably haven't seen the past couple of years. You know, Munsters back just in time, getting a few more miles in his leg each and every week. Jerome Hughes arguably his best season in Melbourne colours. I mean, and then you think about Penrith who still winning, but no Nathan, he will be back at the finals. And mind you, I'm late to death ride Penrith because we've done it the past few years. And they keep proving everyone wrong, but. Yeah, I have, and I'm not doing that. I'm not death riding until they lose. No, but I've been very confused on this. I'm not picking against Penrith ever again until they lose. Yeah, I guess the difference is Penrith. I'm picking them until they eventually drop one. Yeah, they sort of pick up at this time of year past few years. They haven't shown the same kind of form at the back end of the regular season this year that they have in previous couple of years. So that's the only thing I'll say there about the past. No, I was quite telling that they scored 36, 35. Was it last night, 38 or something? And people were unimpressed by it. Oh, it sounds good. But I guess when the bar is so high for them, then that's just where we are. But yeah, Penrith is the funny one. I do think that this is the year that they finally look, they look less invincible than in previous years. I just think that finally they just run out of forwards. Like, they've had, they've, I think I said this year before, but I reckon the guys that have been taken out of the Penrith setup in the last three or four years, I reckon if you made a team of those, like that team would make the eight. That's how many good players that was. So, like that's finally catching up with them a little bit. This year, I still think they have a team to beat. But the fact that Melbourne's been able to handle them not once but twice now is massive. And you're right, the storm is such a funny, a funny team this year because they have had a bunch of wins this year that they've not liked that Bulldogs win and that Warriors win. Where coach had that amazing try in the last minute to win the game for them. Like they've had all these wins where they just kind of got there in the end and it all worked out and you talk about how good teams find a way. And it's true that there's just been a, there's been large chunks of the season where they haven't been particularly impressive. But then, you know, they've shown up against the good teams as well. And I just think that with the way the competition is this year that Melbourne have a red hot chance to win. And you talked about Jerome Hughes, I think, I'm not sure if he'll win it just because of the way the Dalian system works. I think Ted Esco might win it actually. But I think Jerome Hughes has been the best player in the year of this year. I don't think it's all that close either. I think he's been by a mile Melbourne's best player. And I think that maybe just in the last sort of six weeks or so, I had DCA ahead of him at the midpoint of the year in my personal MVP race. But I think that Hughes has pulled away from him a little bit in the last couple of weeks now. And I think it's now, I think he's been the best player. Just when he's been seeing whether, you know, playing, as we've always seen with Melbourne in the past, right, like with the big three taking points off each other every week, we'll see if that if like playing with Grant and playing with, oh, I guess Monster wasn't there for life. But we're playing with Tyrone Wish Islander, I should say. He's had an amazing thing. Kill it. We'll frame through the theme that, yeah. But I think Hughes deserves to win the Dalian this year. You mentioned that DCA, if there's a team outside of the top four, that could make a challenge. I'm thinking it can be mainly. I tipped him against the dogs last night. Canterbury, I mean, mighty impressive. I just think that, you know, for the inexperienced that they have on that side, they're probably overachieved a little bit this year. And that fatigue is just starting to set in at this time of the year when they come up against, you know, bigger, stronger packs. And they just might start a little bit. Yeah, Canterbury have done a remarkable job this year with the tools at their disposal. I think that they've really played in such a different way to everybody else. You talk about their forward pack, and it's true, they don't have that meat in the middle of the field. And they've just been so expansive and just doing so much out wide. They rely on their outflow backs and their edge players so much in both attack and in yardage. And mainly we're through the first team in the whole phase. And it's basically gone after them through the middle and said, try and stop us. And it worked to great effect. And I think that, I think that the Bulldogs have got to where they are this year, just by playing that way. And also, as you just mentioned, just working so hard and just by absolutely killing themselves out there every week. But their defense has been remarkable for most of the season until last night. And yeah, I think I agree with you. I think that they're, I think that they have overachieved a bit this year. And it's been really impressive to watch them in Kamen Toreldas on a great job. But the finals are another kettle of fish. And we've really, especially if, you know, they end up, I think that basically they could be in that one of those weird situations until next week where they could play the Cowboys twice in two weeks. It could be one of the situations where the winner hosts the game the next week. Remember, Tiaas and Arisa did that two years ago. They had the opening of the new stadium at More Park in around 26. And I said, I said to my mates, I'm like, if we win tonight, we're going to lose to them next week. And if we lose to them, we'll win next week. And then they won in that year. We got smoked in stadium opening and they had that crazy finals game the next Sunday, where seven, seven blokes got thin-bins in South one. And I just think that maybe, yeah, I do think that just the miles are starting to build up to Canterbury, but I wouldn't, I wouldn't rule them out just yet. But yeah, I think Manley, Manley are a very interesting proposition, especially, like, you know, anytime turbos fit. And they've got VCE playing close to career, that's footy. And they're forward to playing the way that they are. Think, yeah, that they're tough out for anybody on their day. Madas, it sounds fanist to word on the whole lateral situation. Yeah, look, I've been pretty consistent. I'm not caring about players doing party jokes and stuff in their down time, but at the same time, even everything that has gone on at the club this year, both as a whole and with him in particular, I think it's a pretty bad look. I think that it's just, I was pretty disappointed to see it. That's all. I'm not sure what education is going to get out of it. I did laugh at that, like, yeah, find him and suspend him. What's this education program going to entail? Don't let people feel me. I don't know. But I guess, man, it's not so much there. It's more just like, you know, LaTrell, he's, you know, isn't enough to say, "Oh, no, just got to wait for Wayne to sort him out." You know, he's played nine seasons now, he's in his late 20s. It's not a kidney more, you know, he's got a, there's a sense that, you know, LaTrell is sort of, you know, his behavior, I guess, goes unchecked is the perception. No, I think that, I think they were right to come down hard on him with the suspension and with the massive final, though, most of that fine is, is a suspended fine. But I just, I just, I just kind of, I just more meant like, I don't know what education in this, in this case entails. I just, I'm very curious to see what that would be. But yeah, it's been a really disappointing season to sound. And I think he's been fun and sound of that. And I just really hope that this is the low point for him. I really, really don't always say, we've said this before, but like, I really just hope that this is, this is it. And then it's all up from here. But I mean, you know, I, maybe I'm just being naive. I don't know. But the, you know, on his day, I think he's by my, by a mile south, most important player. We saw that in that sort of mini revival that had in the middle of the season. I know that was in large part due to who they played, but it was also because my job was on the field every week, basically being the best player on the field in every single one of those games. South one. And then he get that, remember that he, they were actually like a very remote chance, a chance, but a very remote one of making the files, if you remember, he got, and he came out of that, that game against Para with that. And it wasn't even announced till the next day that he had that foot injury. Yeah, that's right. Kind of, well, oh, oh, that's weird. And then it was just over again. And that's, I guess that like, as, as disappointed as I am with him for that, that incident that you just built, we've been talking about, the injuries and the conditioning is the main thing that I really want to see him take seriously. Like it's just like, every time he gets going, there's just a little niggle or something that happens to him and he's out for a couple of weeks. And I don't know how you fix that. I, I don't, I'm not a sport scientist. I'm not a, I'm not a nutritionist. I'm not a any sort of exercise science expert. But yeah, I, I don't know. I really hope that just something they can do next year, just keeping, bit and fine. Because I do think that like bad, it's out to be an issue. A fit, a fully fit lateral Mitchell firing and all cylinders with the rest of that team still intact, Damian Cook and Tom Burgess aside is still a, still a sort of, you know, a really tough prospect for a lot of teams when they're on their day. It's just that day didn't really happen a whole lot to keep. Try to the dragon, Zach Lomack. So there you go. First of my three. I'll come back wrong. Yeah, well, they scored us another try, which I didn't mention. Paramedicists, 30, 6 to 12, still 28 minutes left. It's anyone's, but they could drop to as low as 12th at the end of this round. Before we let you go, Matty, just one more thing. If you're the Balmain Tigers, are you agitating that much about, oh, we're considering that you are holding absolutely no cards. You got no money. You had a gifted 10% stake in as well. We want to go to line. This story is so funny. What are you doing? What are they doing? I don't. I have no idea. Anyone that has even a basic curse of that situation knows that basically all the juniors, all the money, a stadium that doesn't need another $40 million in renovations to stop from falling over. West has all that stuff. Doesn't have a lot. I love going to like it. I quite like the West side because it would be a shame to lose that brand from the NRL. I mean, I don't even know what would happen. Whether the Magpies or the Shimos should remain being called the West side to do that on that. I don't think there's any way the NRL allows it to get that situation up. I really don't. But yeah, what a weird story that just kind of came out of nowhere a couple of days ago. Yeah, it's in a hospital Gary Lea, recovering from a whatnot. It's time to get out of the line. Let's run around New South Wales Cup as least. We got the Balmain jersey, and that's all that matter. Well, hang on, mate. I just, yeah, it was very, very odd. And I understand you can be upset about it. But you don't control the state. You don't have the money. So, you know, who are you to be anyway? Is what it is. Yeah, no, especially a very, a very strange story. And I think that anyone, I think that any fan, fans I've spoken to about it on the Balmain side, like get guys who are kind of fancied up on the Balmain side or what they're insane. What are they doing? Yeah, yeah, great. All right, mate. Great to chat as always. We'll catch a great work on ESPN. And of course, the Boomerookies podcast. Thank you. Good to talk to you, mate. Take care. There he is. Matty Bungard from ESPN. Oh, for five, seven, seven, three, six, seven, three, six. They're on the attack again, the drags, but the bottle it. Laolua drops the ball set. They got on Bang Bang and would have been 36, 16, conversion 36, 18. They got 18 points, 26 minutes. They go, oh, go. Dare to dream, dare to dream. But they just meet a reader's penalty now, high shot. It's a tough afternoon out. I need a breather. Broken back with more. You're listening to Sports HQ. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavor. Wings, beers, and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-1170. This is Sports HQ on SEM. Look, I hate to say it, but got to say it. Another trial to the heels. 40 points to 12. Still 22 and a half minutes to go on the game. They've already put 40 on us. Now, the dragon's in possession 10 out. This is going to be, I'm calling it now. The greatest comeback in rugby league history. Guy and JDB. Let's get to 20. We're going to lose this like 40 to 30 or something, aren't we? It's got that smell. Ben Hunt. What have you done? King Togair. He pleads the frontman that's lay lower. They're reading that play. They're reading it like a book. They're going to hang on to the ball. There's a big looch. There's Aizenhoof nowhere to go. Look at the energy and the effort and defense by Paramount. They're not playing like a 16-place team at the moment. They want to, well, in their last home game for the season, go out as winners and give their fans their membership base something to cheer about. The dragon's on me to bunch it. And they've just built it again. I mean, the thing about it is I'm getting text messages galore go off you. Various chat groups pinging. Some of the dragons fans say, "Oh, you know, we're so bad." And they'll say, "Ha, Jules, you guys suck." And they're like, "That's fair enough. I can take that. I can take that." Mark says, "Jules, power leagues now using the tri-score and numbers for their bingo comp." Very funny. King Gout, though, woo-hoo, says Matt. Sorry, Jules. It looks like the drive-thru will get hammering for consolation food on the way home. "We don't want no wooden spoons at Cumberland Oval. Thank you to the dragons for helping us stow away from the splinters." Well, this game is irrelevant in the wooden spoon race. And the cruel summer line floated straight out of old mates head. "I don't know if he likes Taylor. I reckon Matty understood a bit. Just sort of guy that lasts profusely of those sorts of jokes." Good to hear from you, Western Sydney Eagle. Go DCE, go turbo, go to the mighty Eagles. Now, you know what, I'm going to catch up with Justin, right? It was Wayne Arthur's former tennis coach. I'll do that after the next break. A huge day with Alexey Popper and defeating Novak Djokovic. But before that, let's do it, who am I? And because it's a big day in US Open Tennis, I thought I'd make it a tennis-themed one. So have a think about this. Hit me up on the text line or the open line. "I fall 57, 736, 736, the open line, 1,300, 0111, 70." Who am I? I'll tell you, it's a tennis player. I was born in Melbourne in 1976. I am a two-time Grand Slam finalist and a Davis Cup winner. And I lost a US Open final to a fellow Australian. There you go. I don't think it's too difficult today. Who am I? Born in Melbourne in 1976. I'm a two-time Grand Slam finalist and a Davis Cup winner. I lost a US Open final to a fellow Australian. Who do you reckon it is? Opal 5, 7, 736, 736. Those are the who am I clues today? And we'll hear from Alexey Popper and shortly what he had to say the aftermath of that will be the biggest victory of his career. And as we said the first time since 1973 that the top two seeds have bowed out of the US Open before the first fourth round. That being of course Carlos Alvarez and Novak Jogovic just thrown the draw wide open. And I'll catch up with Wayne Arthur's former coach Justin right to run the rule over all of that and discuss US Open tennis. So one more time. Born in Melbourne in 1976 two-time Grand Slam finalist and Davis Cup winner. And I lost a US Open final to a fellow Australian. If you know the ads are Opal 5, 7, 7, 3, 6, 7, 3, 6. The open line number 1, 300, 0, 1, 11, and 70. Just seen this come through the daily telegraph website's buzzers. Saturday, St Sinner Shush called the most prestigious job in the league is up for grabs. And whoever gets it has the task of the restoring pride and glory to the Kangaroos jersey in six weeks. Malmaningo will name the Australian captain. I'll tell you what, he's spoiled for choice. Who do you reckon the Australian captain's going to be? Bondi Jack's got to write in the text line that whoever I told you, you know what, I made it to you. Incumbent Rooster James Todesco is an excellent form. Could win the dalium, Teddy. Might hang on to the job. If the Roosters are there and they're about, if they win a Grand final day, probably keep the jersey that he lost a deal on his woods in, for New South Wales. So that's probably the thing going against James Todesco. Nathan Cleary, maybe, Isaiah. Maybe. Daily Cherry Evans. But he's got to make the side ahead of Cleary. I'm not sure that's going to happen. He's a Queensland skipper, of course. Do you reckon Jake gets picked? I don't think so. Care Murray would be a lock if he's fit. Don't know if they'll pick him as captain. But you think about four other club captains like to make the Australian side. Carlin Pong, a Reuben Carter, Harry Grant, and Ben Hunt. Pat Carrigan's the other one too at Bronco's, who's considered future captaincy material. So, I mean, look, it's a lot of great place to choose from selection headache there for Mal. And they've got that luxury. But this is the way it works. I mean, he's got to make a recommendation, Mal. Then it's up to Peter Velandis in the commission to make the final call, which is interesting. Very interesting. Meninga said, you know, Teddy's playing the best foot he's had for a while. The roosters are pumping along. He's obviously still in the picture. Dylan looks like he's playing a bit injured, we'll see. Now, the try to the ears, 44 points to 12. This is a very, very shameful day for the dragons. Look, when the dust settles on this season, I look back and I go, even if they finish 10th or 11th. Yeah, so that's a pretty decent season. I didn't think they'd finish that high. But, you know, the fact that they could have defeated the eels and the raiders to make the eight and they're not just losing, but getting absolutely smashed. They'll concede 50 here because they did 44. Still 17 minutes to go on the game. It gets a team that may get the wooden spoon. And I know I sound like a broken record, but you can understand my frustration. Any fan in my shoes would be feeling exactly the same way. There's nothing worse than when your team with so much to play for, just turns out that dress and decides not to show up. Bono and Jack's got it right. Simon's got it right on the text line. I'm gonna tidy that up now. And Mitchie's on the buttons. Well, you know, he's pretty sharp between the ears, Mitchie, what he wants to be. Born in Melbourne, 1976. I'm a two-time tennis grand slam finalist and Davis Cup winner. I lost a US Open final to a fellow Australian. That fellow Australian was Patrick Grafter. I have Greek heritage and I famously dated Delter Goodram. And he came under a lot of fire at the time, and that was the running joke, wasn't it? Ah, she had a song born to try. Maybe she wouldn't heed that advice, Mark Phillip pieces. You've got a bad rap, the poo. I mean, look, you lost a Wimbledon final to one of the all-time greats in Federer. But the 99, Davis Cup final, where they defeated the French Enclave, Raucous Crowd at Nice. And he beat Pierre Lien to win it. Pierre Lien, of course, the high highly ranked French professional tennis player, who was a clay court specialist. And that was his finest hour I thought. He was an outstanding player. A rat at Gere had all the weapons. Good player. Good, good player. Anyway, speaking of Australian tennis players, we'll talk about that more after the break. We've got a few alive in the competition. How deep can they go? That is the question I'll catch up with Wayne Arthur's former coach in Justin Wright. Yes, I was Mark Phillip pieces. Bingo, bingo, bingo. So, well done to you, Manley Bronco and Mark, and Von Ijack and the rest who got it. Right, breaking back with more. I'm going to chat US Open tennis. And that's good because they needed a distraction. Because at the moment, it's Perramatta 44, dragons 12. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavour. Wings, beers, and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1300 01 170. This is Sports HQ on SEM. Well, a huge result in the US Open today. Alexi Popran has defeated Novak Djokovic in four sets. So, we've got now Alexi, Alex Demon or Chris O'Connell, Jordan Thompson, all still alive. And with the top seed, Carlos Alvarez also out, the draw has been thrown wide open. So, the question is, who is now favourite? And how deep can the Aussie men go? Justin Wright, tennis coach, former mentor. Wayne Arthur's has been monitoring everything very closely. I'm pleased to say he's on the line right now. Justin, good afternoon. Good afternoon. Thanks for having me on, Julian. What a day for Australian tennis. I was just saying on the drive-in in the studio, I had to leave the house and I ducked in the coffee shop and they had it on the big screen. And I stayed while he served for the match. And, you know, this is really pleasing, isn't it, Justin? As an Aussie tennis fan. Some people like you, Jordan Thompson, he's climbed a 32 in the world. You know, Popran had won a thousand events, which I don't think was spoken about enough. And, you know, we talked about Alexi's talent for a number of years, just a case, I guess, of putting it together consistently in between years. But you've watched his game very closely. You know, how good can he be? Is he a top 10 potential player at his peak? Well, I think he is. He was 6'5". He actually reminds me of Mark Philip. That's he, you know, early in his career. He used to just grip it and rip it. But I think Alexi is actually taken on Xavier Malice. I don't know if you remember him. He made that noise that we wouldn't. Yeah. And that's a year here at Wimbledon. And also another coach, Neville Godwin, who they work together. And he's the coach, Kevin Anderson. He also made a US Open fight on us. So he's got some very experienced coaches and players on his team. He grew up playing in Spain, so from a young age. So, you know, to me, it's no surprise. I heard about him when he was 14, so I followed him through. And winning this Masters, which no one's done since late in year 2003. So I think my more people will hear his name. And I do think he's a potential top 10 at the rate he's going. And with these points, he'll keep moving up and up. Yeah. Yeah. Look at these Australians. And I guess, you know, we don't want to stereotype, but traditionally, Australians have excelled on faster surface courts. So we notably across Wimbledon, but even the US Open, we're, you know, late in that success. And Rafta, one back to back in Philipus, made a final. We're talking more recent times, of course. And, you know, I think about Alex and the improvement in his game, you know, cracking the top 10, he's got a real good chance of going deep, you know, especially with that quarter of the draw opening up for him. I think the main challenges for him might be Casparuto. I think one in five, didn't he, against White Shelton this morning. Yeah. He's known more as a clay court player, but he's done very well in the US Open. So you don't rule him out. But, you know, it's just open up the draw with Alcarraz and Djokovic going out. I mean, I thought it was going to be a fairytale for Djokovic. He's 99 titles, 24 grand slams, what a fitting way to win your 100th title. And 25 grand slams being a quarter of your titles of grand slams. So he would have really been trying desperately to win that match. And just Alex, he's got such a big game that, you know, he can hold seven. I think what's helped the Australians is actually playing on synthetic grass, which is, you know, trying to simulate a grass court. It's very fast in Australia. It's very hot in summer. So the courts are quite lively. It's so we're used to playing on faster courts. There's not so much clay around, but we do have clay. So we're not probably as strong as that in the Australian tennis on the clay. So we just prefer the faster surfaces. So Alexie next meets Francis Tiafo. Jordan Thompson, Chris O'Connell, still on the draw. So Chris O'Connell gets the number one seed in Janik Sino, who of course has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. Then Thompson takes on this impressive Italian, in Analdi. But the thing about, I'm glad that they're on a different time. It's through 15 and 7 a.m. in the morning. Because I think the talk was at one stage, Justin, that the gays might be played simultaneously. And as I understand it, they shared the same coach in Moringka Matossovich. They're very lucky there. He's an experienced coach there. So, you know, he's lucky to have two guys and probably hit a lot together and work together. So, you know, Chris O'Connell, he's a Janikman, actually tried to reduce the number of points and make it harder for players to come up and get a top ranking. So, one year Chris O'Connell just played maybe 100 matches in the whole year and just won a lot of futures. And then he moved up to the challenges. One challenge then got into the tour event. So, it's been a very long journey. So, it's wonderful and he's a Sydney boy. So, you know, Sydney Tennis is a very small circle. So, to have two players from Sydney. And Alex, one of his parents was from Sydney as well. So, it's great for Australian Tennis and people of Sydney as well. Jordan Thompson, I want to give a wrap to him and I want to get your thoughts on him too as well. He seems to be the guy that has just been so consistent as any luck. He's really found his game. Yeah, and he just, you know, really worked hard. And I read a quote from him, his favourite quote or something was about, you know, hard work. So, you know, John Milman players like that, I guess, you know, they really worked very hard. And, you know, Popper and Beaten Jockovic at U.S. Open remind me of Milman Beaten Federer, the U.S. Open, so Australians, you know, they work hard. There's a good group together and I guess they feed each other. Probably, you know, I guess a lot of this started from late in New York. You know, maximise everything you had and Alex Timonor has taken a leaf out of his book as well. And, you know, everyone's sort of really putting in the hard work and it's all paying off, you know, and it takes a long time to get to the top, you know, to be a superstar at 21. You know, it's difficult. So, you're in your trade for a long time before like Wayne Arthas reaches highest ranking at 34 years old. Amazing. People now just seem to be staying out there a lot longer. Yeah, they do. You know, fitness and diet and training is improved and people's bodies are, you know, staying stronger and they're out there for a lot longer. So, this is why we're seeing people like Chris O'Connell and Jordan Thompson. Jordan is 30 now, you know, reaching his peak and it looks like they keep just moving up and up. Yeah, it's nice to see such depth in Australian men's tennis as well. Dalek's demon oil, by the way, takes on Dan Evans. I think he's lost the last three times, albeit very close. You know, Alexi Popron, when he went down to Novak, I think at the Australian, he felt that game was a lot closer than potentially the score line reflected. So, it's nice to see that he's growing in confidence and off the back of that. So, okay, I know what it takes to beat this guy just outside of the Australian. Who are the biggest threats now on the men's side of the draw? Obviously, Yannick, I wouldn't be sleeping on Medvedev either, Justin. No, but Medvedev is in the top half in Senna. It's down the bottom half of his total sleep from Zarev. And I've always had rublev is in there as well. I've always had my own Zarev's. His U.S. I can find less than 2020, his Olympic champion 2020. He's got a very big game. And, you know, with Jockovich and Alcaraz going up, going out, this is just open up the opportunity for other players who may not raise the trophy yet. And on the women's side of the draw, Coco Gough defending champion at a good win, three sets over Svetolina this morning. She's going along pretty nicely. And Sabalina as well came back from a set down to defeat Alexandra. It's always a little trickier, isn't it, on the women's side of the draw? Yeah, it seems to be like some of the men. And I guess with Federer and Jockovich and Adala, just one Sunday tournament, you know, they were always in the finals. But the women seem to be different players coming through, and they're a bit more topsy-turvy, and some men following Sabalina with this one, I think. She's a very strong player, got a huge serve. And, you know, U.S. Open, if the sun's out, it's very lively. And they're very quick courts, and Coco Gough also has a very big serve, and as you said, defending champion. So they're going along smoothly at the moment. All right, before we let you go, Justin, let's get some tips. Okay, 315 in the morning, or they're about Sinner and O'Connell. What can Christian dish up here? So he's really going to have to take it up to him. You know, he's going to be very aggressive. He's playing the number one in the world. You know, obviously, in the moment, they just feel it. So he's going to go out there and believe that he can beat him, and he's going to take it up to him, I'm sure. And then Jordan Thompson, who's, I think, ranked 32, isn't he? So just outside the season, again, it's a 30th seat in Aldi. He's got a fair to his chances, doesn't he, Jordan? Yeah, and he certainly does. And the winner of those two, I don't know if you've seen that, going into the fourth one. It's actually both like when they play each other, even though I would play Jordan Thompson in the fourth round. So I hope that they can go through. Dan Evans is a wonderful player as well. So I think they can go through those two guys. Yeah, and I think the demon might get Dan Evans. Fascinating tournament still to play out. Thank you so much for your time, Justin. Enjoy the tennis and have a great weekend. Thanks for having me on. There is Justin Wright, tennis coach, talk all things US Open. Yeah, it's the journey. It's been nice to see them sort of hitting their peak there in their 30s. The likes of O'Connell and Jordan Thompson as well. And the draw opened up. You could see a bunch of Australians potentially play quarter final football. O four five seven, seven three six, seven three six. Got another tie to the drag and see a two little too late. Three and a half to go, slides back to double. It's got to be 44-30 before we know it. Strange old game, breaking back with more. All right. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavour. Wings, beers and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-1170. This is Sports HQ on SEM. Well, do I dare to dream? The score now reads 44-36. It's two minutes to go, eight point the ball game. So the dragons have just gone. Try, try, try, try. Two to slide and one to Finae in the space of five minutes, three tries. They're throwing the ball around. And our birds in space finds low max. He doesn't have a lot of pace. Got to step inside. He tries to beat Siva on the outside. Fries it back in the infield because he's almost got taken in touch. My eyes and picks up the ball. Eyes and hoof. Probably didn't want to go to him. Straightens his right minute and a half to go. They're going to have to score twice because they're trail by eight. But if they score conversion, there may be, you know, a two point field goal to get into extra type, potentially. Sloane looking for a hat trick, bounces off one, bounces off two. Minute 18. It's a bridge too far. They don't deserve to win this game, the dragons. But they could make it very, very interesting. Here's Debellan. Gives it to Hunt. Short ball to Sua. Keeps it alive. He's dropped the ball. They're going to challenge this though. They're going to challenge it. He came through, but that might be game set bingo. And as I said, they didn't deserve to win. They conceded what? 24-26 was it in the first half and then, yeah. So 44-36, 52 seconds remaining. The dragons have turned the ball over. No, they've got the scrum feet. Drag has got the scrum feet. So they've packed. So they've called time off. It'll be full time after the break. And I'm going to catch up and chat EPL and a few other bits and bobs. In the final hour of the program, 0-4-5-7-7-3-6-7-3-6. The text line number, you're on SportsHQ on S again, is Saturday afternoon. All right. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavour. Wings, beers, and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-11-7-8. This is SportsHQ on SEM. Finally, out of the program, I just... I need to get my breath back here. Full time at Conbank Stadium, the score reads 44 points to 40. And they couldn't take the conversion attempt. So because it would have wound the clock down. So four seconds left. Final play. Hunt tried the kick through and it was diffused by Parramatta. Not that the dragons deserved to win well, none of the eels, but... It was a bizarre game where the dragons scored four tries in the last eight minutes. But in the second half, they gave up tries to Brown and Gupperson Bang Bang and then Sevo. So they'd never deserved to win. In fact, the first four tries of the second half went the way of the eels. Before they decided to pull their head out of their backside. 44 points to 49 tries to 7. In the end, so for the eels, Penasini, Sevo has got a hat trick. Gupperson, Tungalane, Brown. Double for Guffo. For the dragons, Conimalizing. Zach Lomax. Matt Fino. Got a hat trick. Tyrell Sloan got a double. Dejanasi 4 from 9, so she'd never been that close. And then 6 from 7 of the boot for Zach Lomax. 26, 6 at half time. And if we do get, if we do get, in fact, I'm sure we will, the press conferences from, well, I want to hear from Shane Flanagan. If we get Flanos press conference, we'll play it for you, for the show ends today. 045773636. Paramount, the pain is peeling off the walls here, Jules, aren't you glad? Not eel supporter. What was going through your mind? My phone has been pinging. Pinging from where my dragons fans go. What on earth is going on? Just the clock beat them in the end. It's their own fault. I'm going to give up nine tries. You are not a serious against the 16th place team. You are not a serious final football team. And I'm saying that it's a dragons fan. And I don't think many people would disagree with me. Anyway, team news for the dolphins and the Broncos. For the dolphins to beat a penguin, junior will start in the front row. Trey Fuller takes over at fullback and Lachlan Hubner, moves to Lach. And if you like, changes by Wayne Bennett. Jeremy Marshall, King's going to make his return from the bench. Hammersault, Tabio Ifordo, moves to the senders. Osaic, at Toa, goes to the bench with Kenny Bromwich. Jake Avarillo, partner Sean O'Sullivan in the halves. Cody Nickele-Rima. And Jesse Bromwich will sit out the match due to concussion protocols, as will Josh Kerr, who received a head knock at training. For the Broncos, Kevin Wilders confirm that pain has will start the game. And his return from a foot injury as the Broncos launch a late finals charge. Xavier Wilson moves to the bench. Senator Dean Marinup, a late scratching for the match after battling flu. So Josiah Carapani comes from the bench to start. Ben Taccura is named for his first NREL game since round number 15 after Kobe Heatherington was ruled out due to concussion protocols. So that gets underway in a tick under half an hour's time. Looks like a big crowd building on a very hot day in Brisbane. 35 degrees, I think it was. In August, 35 degree day. The dolphins and the Broncos. But now with that dragons loss, the winner of this game will leapfrog them into eighth place. So as a dragons fan, you know what would be nice? A draw. A draw would be perfect for us. We're not out of it, boys. We're not out of it. Anyway, the match will be officiated by Adam G and Ashley Klein. He is the man in the bunker. Give me a shout. I want to talk football, 1-300. 0-1-11-71, 300-0-1-11-70. And that text line number, as I said, 0-4-5-7. 7-3-6-7-3-6. What about the tennis? I mean, Alexey Popper. Speaking of, Alexey Popper. After he dismantled or stunned Novak Djokovic. I mean, that is the greatest win of his career. Toppling arguably the goat. Dramatic third round clash. And as Justin Wright mentioned there, in my chat with him in the last hour, he has now ended the Serbian quest for a record 25th grand slam title. 24,000 capacity whipped into a frenzy at Arthur Ashe Stadium. Really emotional outburst after winning points. Provailed 6-4-6-4-2-6-6-4. Third time lucky too for the 28th CDU. As we mentioned, beaten by Djokovic at the Australian Open and Wimbledon this year. And I said, you know, these games, particularly Australia wasn't that far off and thought, you know, what, I can get this guy. It's all in Mackin Road, you know, he used to lose to Borg and then eventually he figured out how to beat him. He said, you know what, they're just humans. It took a while, but you kind of lock how to beat these great players. Darwin's unbeatable. Let's hear from the victorious Australian. Third time lucky, I guess. No, honestly, we had some battles at Australian Open and Wimbledon. I had my chances in those matches, but didn't take him. This match was a little bit different. I was able to take my chances when I had him and play some good tennis. Into the round of 16 for the first time in your career and you do it beating the greatest of all time. What are the emotions you're feeling right now? Yeah, it's unbelievable because I've been in the third round about 15 times in my career, but I haven't been able to get past to the fourth round. And to be able to do it against the greatest of all time to get into the fourth round is unbelievable, you know. So, yeah, it's a great feeling and the hard work has been up. Congratulations. What a show you put on tonight. Let's see, but we're in everybody. How good, how good. And he just sounds humble, doesn't he? I'm very confident. You can see, I don't know if you saw it, but you can see the roar that he led out afterwards. Imagine that defeating the great Novak Jokovic. If you think about John Milman who defeated Federer at the USO, but what a stunning result that was. Lexi Popran, it's on the USO, but now he will meet Francis Tiafo. And we've got a lot of Aussies in action, so don't go to sleep. Because tomorrow, Father's Day too, by the way, Yannick Sinner. That's Christian O'Connell's opponent. Yeah, yeah, no, it's who you got. Third round. Oh, just the number one player in the world, Yannick Sinner. Okay, no worries. That's at 3.15 AM. Then he got Jordan Thompson against the 30th seat of Naldin. Now, Jordan Thompson's ranked 32, so in terms of ranking, these two are very, very close. So he'd fancy his chances. And then 9 AM, so there's a nice time too. All the dads getting up. So what do you want for Father's Day? I just don't want to be disturbed. Is that too much to ask? I just don't want to be disturbed. So get up, make your breakfast. Kids, if you don't mind. Get my coffee and my eggs and just, I just want to sit down on a watch demon or take on Dan Edwards. It reminds me that great gag. A wonderful comedian, Bill Burr. And he says, you know, men are simple. Men are simple creatures. We don't ask them much. And he halves back to that day where he's got to clean out the garage and it's stinking hot and he's sweating and nothing's going right. And he's cutting himself and he hated life. And he says, Dan, his wife just brings him at the end of the day, just a sandwich and an ice cold beer. That was it. So I didn't say any go here, go back. Just left him alone. He says, I'm driving my car five years later. It brings me to tears. I still think about that moment. So that's all you want. Just a sandwich and a beer. Simple creatures we are. You don't have to stick around and say, you know, is everything okay? Don't just leave us. Leave us. Just give us our space. That's all we want. So maybe for Father's Day tomorrow, kids, beautiful. Open the presents, whatever they bought at the Father's Day store. At prime risk school. You've all done that, haven't you? Lad's out there with kids. Well, it's Mother's Day, it's Father. Yeah, he's 10 bucks go by two things for five dollars. And then, look, let's be honest. And I love my kids and it's a gift from them. I'd never throw them out. But the caliber of those gifts, I don't know where they're sourcing from, but they are crappy. They have a few pot plants, but I'm no good at maintaining them. So I never get a pet, right? So I can no good at maintaining them. So don't give me a plant. Last year, I said, and the only stipulation I had this year was, please, no more photo frames. Let's get photo frames, which is lovely. I've got a thousand photo frames, but the quality of those, or just awful, flimsy, like cardboard. They fall apart in two seconds. Don't give me that. So I don't know what it is. You've got me a mug. You know, mugs are pretty safe. I think a pair of socks. You know, people say socks are boring. I've got nothing against socks. It's called just Chuck a pair of socks, and I'm more than happy to get socks. And then what they do is that they give you this, you know, it comes in a paper bag. And they do drawings on it and design it and whatnot. So anyway, it's lovely. I'm looking forward to it. Father's Day is a really great day because generally, parenthood, more or less, revolves around the mums, and that's understandable because mums are the greatest thing on the planet. But it's just a nice day for day being a dad. And my son, I'll give him a wrap, young Noah. 23 goals, by the way, he's soccer season. He makes a superb scrambled eggs. So I taught him, I said, all right, a little slow to start, but I said, look, oh, dad, I'm not going to say a word. You're going to muck up the first view, but then you'll refine your technique, and he's very clinical. So he cracks two eggs. Certain whisk, certain dropper milk, certain cracks of the salt grinder. Give it a whisk. Turn the stove on to, you know, not too hot. You don't want too hot. A medium to, a seven or something. Little splash of olive oil, butter, if you choose. Gently, you see the thing about the scrap of legs, you don't whisk them too vigorously. You just sort of gently nudge them around, turn the heat off and just continue to cook, and then on the plate. His eggs are better than mine. And I used to rave about how they are superb. So, you know, I can't give him much. I don't earn millions. Don't have the big trust fund for him, but I can impart my wisdom and my egg-making recipes. The other thing I've given him too is a lifelong love of the dragons, and he's a very emotional kid. Hate's losing. It's going to take him to the game today, just as well I didn't, because he had him in crying, kicking his don'ts, getting angry. Angry on the way home. 44 points to 40. The eels over the dragons. Nine tries to seven. So for the paying customers, 84 points you've seen. 16 tries. That is remarkable. Absolutely remarkable. Without a waffle, the defense was absolutely appalling, and if you want to concede 44 points with the parameter eels, very simple. You do not deserve to play fine as football. I'm a realist. And as I said, once the dust settles, I look at this dragon side and I go, okay, well, you know, it's a pretty good season. Every way dissect it. No, I thought that'd be this high. So you've overachieved, then you take it. But when you can see it, you can smell it. It doesn't necessarily alleviate that disappointment, does it? A45773676, having said that. Saturday on this program, I haven't had a Saturday sports HQ for a little while, because it's been a stack of football on on the rest of it. But for the regular listeners to Sports HQ, you know that I love the three sporting tips. And my first one today was Zac Lasto Escortra. Well, Zac, he did. So I'm alive in my three-leg multi, the Sports HQ multi. I said, the wallabies, when they lose to Argentina, will get within 12. Then we're going to wait till what is it? Monday morning. Manny-nited to beat Liverpool have been very, very busy. Manny-nited. This little transfer window. They've done well. They've done really well. And I texted our dear friend here on the network, Adam Kwoznick, former Central Coast Mariners legend, who's a mad Arsenal fan, Kwoz. He's very happy because of the great trend Sainsbury's return to the Mariners. But, but he's an Arsenal fan. I said, oh, this young Obie Martin. That is joining United 16. He just scores about 10 goals a game. Next big thing. And I know we hear that a lot. Next big thing is I look at the screens. Go to see a Fox League. And there's the kids hiking the Wally statue. Is that tantamount to sacrilege? Should you be allowed to climb the Wally statue? I can tell you, Wally, I don't know. Wally particularly well, but met him and interviewed him plenty of times over the years. He's a ripper bloke, Wally. Ripper bloke. I don't think he'd care well, because he is a man of the people. The man who knows every blade of grass at Lang Park. There's a big, big game. This one here. A big, big game between the Dolphins and the Broncos. The top eight hopes on the line. This is the fourth instalment by the way, the Brisbane Derby. So the two teams going into this game, locked on 26 points, two behind the dragons. So effectively, we've got a four team hunt for the final place in the annual postseason. Well, look, mathematically, the Raiders can still make it. Brisbane, though, currently hold the advantage because of their superior four and again. So they sit in ninth ahead of the Dolphins, Knights and Raiders, all four of them on 26 points. And such is the tight nature of the competition, or the outcome of today's Derby, will effectively end the loser's season. So Brisbane, they've studied the ship in recent weeks, have kept their playoff hopes alive at 30 points to 24 victory over their eels last Friday after trailing 16-0. Dolphins, you know, their form slump's been been concerning, hasn't it, over the past few months? I know some people are trying to sheet home the blame to Wayne Bennett publicly announcing that he's going to South's next year and chatting to South's Blaze. They reckon that's a distraction. I've got too much respect for Wayne Bennett to say that he would ever let that distract what he's doing with his team. It just asks the Blaze at hand. But I don't think it's Wayne going to South. So I would say the second half of the slump is probably current side over the absence of Jeremy Marshall King. Good player, he has missed the past seven matches with the foot injury back to day, back to day. So he's returning this weekend, a major boost to their finals chances. He will come off the bench. But the other key in, on the other side of the ledger, paint arse. So that win by the Broncos last week, they had no arse, no ma'am and no Walsh. So that was an impressive comeback too, because they would have been mentally challenged after trailing 16-0. You're going to look deep within yourselves. This is what the dragons didn't do against Parramatta today. So he is back today, pain arse returning from that list-frank injury. That's one of those terms, those injuries. Now isn't it the list-frank? Two years ago, nobody used list-frank. Like Cyndas Moses. We always used to say high ankle. Now we all want to be NRL physios, aren't we? Was it, ah, got a list-frank, mate? Got a Cyndas Moses. So just recapping the team news. Tovita Panglai Jr is going to start in the front row. Trey Fuller takes over the full back row. Lachlan Hubner moves to lock in late changes by Wayne Bennett. Jeremy Marshall King, as we mentioned, will make his return from the bench. The hammer moves to the center. Zayka Tower back to the bench with Kenny Bromwich. Jake Avarilla. Good play, Jake Avarilla. And Speedy too. Parton Shauna Sullivan in the halves. Cody Nicarema Jesse Bromwich will sit out the match due to concussion protocols. Pain arse as we mentioned. Returning is going to start in his return from the list-frank. Zayvie Willinson on the bench. Dean Mariner out because of the flu. Josiah Carapani come from the bench to start in Big Bopper. Ben Tukura named for his first game since round five. Kobe Hetherington ruled out due to concussion protocols. Oren Kealey is the 18th man for the Dolphins. Jump in number 15. Corey Oates the 18th man for the Broncos in jump in number 20. Adam G the referee actually climbed the man in the bunker. The Dolphins by the way. The Dolphins have conceded 150 points in their past four games. Now Catoni Staggs I think has been head and shoulders. The best Broncos play this year. Six tries in his past six games. The Broncos have got those lovely retro jerseys. The Argyle Diamond jerseys with the Morone collar. They look very, very sharp. As for the red cliff base side, they've won only four from nine at Suncorp Stadium this season. Four from nine. Selwyn Kubo by the way has scored six tries in three games against the Dolphins. And Jake Avarilla well done. We just mentioned him a moment ago, Jake Avarilla. We'll make his 100th NRL appearance. So 100th game there for Jake Avarilla. He was a real fan favorite. Jake Avarilla there at the dogs. And I know a lot of dogs fans that I speak to are disappointed that they let him go. Good player. It's been a really, really good acquisition for them today. O four, five, seven, seven, three, six, seven, three, six. Now Michael Glassick came for the Mariner system. Played a few guys for the Central Coast Mariners off the bench back of the days. Now running around in the in the MPL with Sydney Olympic. Now I got two co-hosts Saturdays on the coast, which is our central coast base program, which goes to AC and Track Network last Saturday. Michael fills in every now and then is a proud coast. He's a mad Parramatta fan. Now I've been on a textic change with Michael. He was at the game today. So I said, all right. Well, you can tell us what the Atmos was like there at Combat Stadium. And being a mad football fan, I thought I'd get him as well, Michael, the chat about some key Premier League Games coming up this weekend, starting with Arsenal and Brighton tonight. So we'll catch up with Michael after the next break on the program. Just before we get to that, Adrian Brashinko, who had to bolt it to a clock, the churn out this wonderful article for the City Morning Herald, has written that a new NRL crowd record looms as fans flocked to the footy. So the NRL is on track to break its crowded tenants record for the second consecutive season as fans flocked to the football ahead of the finals. So a total of 3,581,411 fans have attended during the first 25 rounds of the season. That excludes Magic Round, by the way. So it's an average of almost 20,000 again. That's pretty decent. In case you're wondering, the reason Magic Round is not included is because the eight games are played as double and triple headers over three nights. So only three crowds are recorded. The previous mark occurred last year, 3,797,922 spectators streed through the turnstiles over 27 rounds. So prior to this round and the next round, so they will surpass that. So a new mark will be set. So we've crunched the numbers for you. What are the point? Machine coast crush the numbers for you. So if 216,511 more punters in the final two rounds, attend. So that's an average of 30,530 to a game. We'll break the record. And think about some of the marquee matches that remain next week. Bronco's in Melbourne. Rooster's Rabbidos. Canterbury Cowboys. I reckon they get that mark, don't you? I reckon they do. And NRL Chief Executive Andrew Abdo said we've gone from one record breaking year to another. The fans have been outstanding. And don't forget we had a fair bit of rain this year as well. Been a really exciting season. And it started with the vagus too. So it's been a difficult season to date. The warriors have helped that haven't they? Continue to captivate the imagination of fans. All of the club's home games are sold out this year. So they have well and truly ridden that up the was momentum from that breakout 2023 season. And then Manley. Don't sleep on Manley. They have turned Brookvale into a fortress. They've sold out and won all of their games except for a Friday clash against Canberra. So the sold out sign has already been put up for the final round clash against the Sharkies. Tony Mestroff is the Manley Chief Executive. Said well all Manley supporters have gotten behind the team. It's helped the home grad performance. Absolutely it has. So well done. And you know the roosters always get a bad rap, don't they? But their crowd's been sensational. Is it any roosters? And then you think about teams with big fan bases, right? Like the Bulldogs. So the doggies haven't enjoyed having enjoyed a resurgence of their own and remain in the hunt for a top four spot. They haven't lost in home all season. They're expecting another big home crowd when they host the cowboys in the final round after several weeks on the road. But we saw a crowd at a core stadium against Manley. Now let's say that Manley fans don't travel. And that's a bit of a graveyard shift. 6 p.m. on a Friday at a core stadium. They got 35,000. So the dogs fans were out in force. Very passionate supporter base. 1,300, 0,1, 11, 70. So well done to all the NRL fans have got out to games this year. So we're about 10 minutes away from kickoff for the second of the three Super Saturday games. A massive game. The winner will keep their slim finals chances alive. The loser will be gone for season. 2024, the Dolphins and the Broncos. That is coming up shortly. 1,300 to 0,1, 11, 70. That is the open line number earlier today. 44 points to 40. The eels have defeated the dragons and put a huge dent in their finals aspirations for 2024. So I did mention that one minute, that game was a colleague of ours here at SC and Michael Lassick, the soccer player. Well, I'm going to catch up with him after the break, Michael. See what he has to say. Look, you know, I can take it like a man. He can give me a ribbing. That's fine because I'll just say, you know, look at the ladder where he blokes, you know, not even in with sniffer the eight. I'll leave it at that. Anyway, and we'll talk EPL football. Soccer is going to world cup qualifier coming up on Thursday. And whatever else we care to chew the fat about. I'm happy to hear from you on the program and the final. What 40 minutes or so this Saturday evening on Sports HQ. I'll break him back with more. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavor. Wings, beers and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-1170. This is Sports HQ on SEM. Yeah, welcome back to the program everyone. Almost just a tick over half an hour to go before I can kick up my heels and drown my sorrows on this Saturday evening. I'm getting a bit early and watch the demon take on Dan Evans in the tennis tomorrow morning on Father's Day. So give me, give me my eggs, give me my coffee. Sorry, no, I won't be so rude to my kids. Oh, thanks kids, my eggs and my coffee. Now, if you wouldn't mind just going out the room, leave me alone and I'd love to see somebody I support win. How good were the dragons, women? By the way, thumping the hills. Not so good for the men. I just seen too that 40 points is the highest score by losing team in first grade history. Shane Flanagan has finished his press conference. We'll play that for you before the conclusion of the program today. But last week, I got to jump in the chair for Michael Bietner for our Saturdays on the Coast program, which goes out through our SCN track network. And I co-hosted with a very bright young man and talented footballer by the name of Michael Glassick. Now, Glass came through the mariner system. He's running around doing good things for Sydney Olympic at the moment. I've been involved in a text exchange and I thought, "Who should I get on to chat a bit of Premier League football?" As it turns out, he was also at the game because he's a mad eels fan. Now, that should probably result in immediate banishment. But, although, no, no, we can kill two birds with one stone. It's on the line right now. Hello, Glass. Yeah, good news. Good news. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon at Combat Stadium. And, yeah, the eels got off the fly and then the dragons gave me heart failure towards the end there. That was incredible. Four tries in the last eight minutes. So, what was going through your head? Were you feeling sick, do you, Snowick? Well, panic, stress, or everything that you can feel is a parameter fan coming into fruition. It was that sort of afternoon. Yeah, but low max scoring a few tries. That might be nice in 2025 when he's in the blue and gold. You know, it's funnier than I thought. A half-time, they're playing like bastards. But, season of the line, Flynn will give him rev up at half time. Let's call the first try. They can see to the first three in the second half that what he's going on, useless bloody side near him, prone things and breaking headphones in the studio and then try to, oh, another one. Oh, that's interesting. Another, oh, one more. Hang on a minute. We're right behind here. School, and you just, you know, you're dead a dream, but they didn't deserve to win. It was nine tries to seven. But it makes little difference to your fortunes in a sense, doesn't it? Because he still needs to defeat the Tigers next week to avoid the wooden smoothie. But I have to say on form, it'd be pretty hard to go past Parramatta. But as we've seen, you know, weak is a long time in rugby league, isn't it? That's it. And Parramatta's defense is the big issue. They've got no problem scoring points. But at the other end, we're leaking a lot of tries at the moment. And the same goes with the Tigers as well. So it's going to be a battle of the spoon next week in Campbelltown. And for an ill sense, well, we can't wait. And well, we can wait, but we can't wait. We can wait, but we can't wait. Well, anyway, let's talk about the real football, shall we? The round ball code. Some big games coming up in the Premier League. It's a good time to know it too. Arsenal, V Brighton. I watched Manu Brighton, which was 9.30 last week. And, you know, talk about sickening feeling when it's 1.1. And I'm a Manu fan, as you know. And I'm watching it. They're going to score here, Brighton. They just, I just know it. And sure enough, they did. United used to be known Michael as a team that would score injury time or stoppage time winners. They're now known as a team that tends to concede them. I think the last four... I saw a stat where I think four of the last five times they've lost, they've conceded in stoppage time, or some ridiculous stat like that. But, you know, they've bought well on the transfer window, but they, you know, they need to win. They need to start the season well, because the likes of your Manu cities and your Arsenals can get ahead very, very quickly. And Arsenal tonight, they take on Brighton at 9.30. They're a pretty decent side, Brighton. But you think Arsenal should be too strong at home. Yeah, it is. At the top of the table clash at the moment, Brighton with the two wins. The win against Manchester United in the last minute, last weekend. Wellback and Pedro with the goal to them. Wellback started the season like a house on fire at the moment. He's got, I think, two goals in his first two games, rediscovering some of his best form that saw him at Manchester United earlier in his career. But for Arsenal, they just looked solid as what they were last year. 89 points last year, and not to win the Premier League title, which was, I guess, just shows the dominance of Manchester City in the Premier League. I think Arsenal will be too strong in this one. Also, Raheem Sterling, potentially heading to Arsenal on a loan from Chelsea, which just further strengthens Arsenal, especially in that front third. And hopefully, he can rediscover some of his best form, which will, if the Arsenal's fansake, could be the missing ingredient for them to win the title. Wolves had six put past them by Chelsea. Can they bounce back against Forrest? Look, it's going to be a tight one. James Ward, crowd has just signed on a season loan from West Ham to Nottingham Forest. So, Nottingham have started the season pretty strongly. They've had a win and a draw in their first two games. I think Nottingham at home against Wolves will be two strong Wolves. There's been a bit patchy in their first two games, especially against Arsenal and then last week against Chelsea. I think Nottingham will have too much strength, especially with their manager, Nuno Sprit Santo. Yeah, I think they're going to be a little bit of a dark horse in this season's Premier League. They've started strong and I think they'll have too much for Wolves. Aston Villa were probably the surprise packets of last season. They've gone win and lost, they take on Leicester. Yeah, it's going to be a really good game this one. Leicester City obviously have come up from the championship. They had a really good season last year, and obviously the form that they showed before, previously winning the Premier League and winning the FA Cup, they had no easy beat. Aston Villa, they had a tough loss against Arsenal last week. It was a neck and neck game. Arsenal just showed their flex their muscle later on in that one with goals to Troggsard and party. But I expect Villa to bounce back. Watkins missed a few chances. I expect him to fire and re-establish his fine goals scoring ability. From one team that's gone up to another team that's gone up, Ipswich Town featuring a couple of Aussies there at home to full them. Yeah, Ipswich Town, look, they've had a really difficult start in their first two games. They've had the Liverpool and Manchester City first up. That's not so easy. They got off to a really good start last week. That meant the home of the Champions Manchester City with an early goal. But when Harlan and De Bruyne just get a little smith, they are very hard to stop, especially in this season's Premier League and in many seasons before that, they're going to... Ipswich, though, back to Ipswich, they're going to be... I think they're going to get their first win against full them. I'm pretty confident, especially a few Aussies in Maslow Longo and Cameron Burgess there. Always good to see a few Aussies in the APL. And I think for Ipswich, this might be the moment for them to record their first points of the season. I'm going to quick tip off you, Brentford Southampton. I'm going to go with Brentford in that one. Everton Bournemouth. Tricky One might go a 1-1 or a draw. Everton have started pretty poorly. They had a bad defeat against Andrew's Tottenham Hotspur. So I'm going to go with Everton, a draw in the Everton Bournemouth one. What would be scary listening is when Pep Guardiola says, you know, Erling Harlan's as fit and fast as ever been. He got himself a hat trick. He looks like he's back on song after a year last year, which probably wasn't quite to the standard. We were hoping, well, if you're a Man City fan, you know, I hope it didn't matter because I won the league anyway. They're away to West Ham. Look, if like a Hammers like me, I'm going to go West Ham in this one. The best one, really well, West Ham. Obviously, Madrid City are the best team, probably in the world football. I've got a strike all over the pitch. But I'm optimistic about West Ham about a relatively good record against Manchester City in recent years. They need to be defensively resolute in this one. But Max Kilman looks like a great guy from Wolverhampton. He was outstanding last week against Palace. I have to go to Hammers' duels, I'm sorry, mate. No, I'm sure I won't care on a go for Man City. Chelsea at home to Crystal Palace have gone. The start of the season, Palace with a couple of losses. I think you're a better side than that. Is this the chance for them to try and kickstart this season? Yeah, it's a good opportunity. Chelsea have got, I think, 47 players on the books there. So, Chelsea are a club that have got talent in abundance, but just getting them all on the pitch. And even in the reserve squad, the biggest issue for them. Crystal Palace, they are a quality side. They were very good last week against West Ham as well. We can quality game that one. So, I think Crystal Palace are a good chance. It's a London derby against Chelsea. So, an opportunity for Crystal Palace to get on the board. I'm going to tip a draw in that one. And two big games to wrap up the round. 10.30pm tomorrow night, New Castle and Tottenham both sides with a win and a draw to start the season. Yeah, it was fantastic for Ains last weekend against Everton. They were scintillating, really. They're pressing with outstanding. Son Basuma came coming back from a little bit of the innuendo at the start of the season. Romero with a goal as well. It's going to be a really tough game. This one, New Castle are a very quality side. They've had a win and a draw to start there. I'm beaten as well with Tottenham. It's going to be neck and neck. I think this one. I'm going to go with New Castle purely just with the Geordie crowd behind them. But Tottenham, they have been really good to start off the year. And they've got a quality side in the works. And Ains will be looking to hopefully get another win on the board. Then finally, the big game of the round. Man United Liverpool at Old Trafford. United, we spoke about it briefly. Probably a bit unlucky not to get at least a point out of that match against Brighton. Liverpool haven't really missed a beat, have they? With Ainslott now coming in, replacing Jürgen Klopp. Yeah, and what I like about Ainslott is he's come in with his own DNA and his own way of doing things. He's not trying to live in the presence of Jürgen Klopp. Obviously, that big shoes to fill. He's done it in his own way quite subtly. Tweaking a few things with obviously a squad inherited by Jürgen Klopp. It's going to be really tight. You know, I really need to win this one. It's quite a desperate situation, I guess. If United don't win this game, they recorded a win last year against Liverpool at home. And it was actually one of the early wins. I think it was under Eric Tanharg's reign at Manchester United. To me, I think it was a four-three game, I think, from memory. Wasn't it? It was in the FA Cup. Manchester United, I think it's a very important game for Manchester United, more so than probably their opponents in Liverpool. But it's going to be, again, all of these games at all. He's got Spice history, an amazing two clubs. So I'm going to go with Manchester United just for you. Yeah, I appreciate that, mate. Very quickly before we let you go, we got the Socceroos taking on Bahrain in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday. I've seen that, well, he's named a few wingers, aren't he? He said, "I've gone for more wingers than I did this time." They're previously less number nine than centre forwards, because he said in these two games, especially going to need that type of wide player. So you think about Nesteri, or Acunda, Oma, Beel, Craig Goodwin, your old mate there from the Mariners, Sami Silvira, and Martin Boyle, an important game for the Socceroos. It really is. Bahrain have actually been, I think, in the country for the last week, so they've been climatising to the first leg here in the World Cup qualifier. It's going to be interesting. Obviously, a lot of the Australian players coming from overseas and will have long flights from their European and Asian countries. So it's going to be a very interesting one for Australia. They need to get off to a good start in this World Cup qualifier. Obviously, the qualification players have changed this time around. Obviously, Australia at home are extremely tough to beat. They have an incredible record. So you expect Australia to win against Bahrain, but don't be surprised with Bahrain coming into this one. They've got a very capable side and they are very dangerous, especially in those transition moments. So, Arnie, as you said, he's picked a lot of wingers in his squad, probably not quite having an out-and-out striker. They've tended to adopt Mitchell Duke in that out-and-out striker, who's done a good job for the Socceroos. But, yeah, he's probably tended to go with wingers. And Urukund is the excitement machine doing some good things that Bayern Munich and I think Vincent Company is taking a very heavy liking to him. So he might be an important player for the Socceroos in this qualification phase. Yeah, and do, Mitchu, Cassini-Yegi, Adam Taggot, the three, send it forwards. Good to get your input. Thank you so much, mate, for sparing a bit of time on this Saturday afternoon. Greatly appreciated, safe travels. Thank you very much, Jules. And it's always good when the aisles win. Bugger off for you, there he is, Michael Klasey. He's a good young lad, very clever young lad. Look, we can't all be perfect as a Parramatta fan, but it could be worse. Could be a manly fan, I suppose, couldn't he? Over five, seven, seven, three, six, seven, three, six, each the text line number. Just before we get to the break, I mentioned, I meant to mention this at the top of the program, but completely forgot. Just this is the tour championship, of course, the final leg of the FedEx. Scotty Schefflup is out in front at the moment, 21 under. Don't forget it's a handicap start, depending on where you finish. He hit a Colin Maura Cowa at minus 17, Zander Schoffley minus 16. Then he got so heaped the Gala at 12 under the card alongside Wyndham Clark and Australia's Adam Scott, no one clear of Sam Burns at minus 11. So Adam Scott, at the moment, the Australian is tied a fourth, 1-300-01-11-70. We'll take another break here on Sports HQ on the other side of that. We'll have a listen to what Shane Flanagan, the dragon's head coach, had to say. Turn up the volume, turn up the flavour, wings, beers and sporting glory, only at Winghouse. Join the conversation, call 1-300-01-11-70. This is Sports HQ on SEM. Fast-running out of time, first try of this game of the Dolphins. Four-nil, they lead the Broncos. We're 26 minutes remaining in the first half. Four-nil, they lead the Broncos. I've just, before we get to Shane Flanagan, it's fast to say it was a short press conference, and he wasn't a happy man, no big surprise. Dragon's first team to score 40 in lose when they went down 44.40 to the eels. Thank you to Martin, who has done the maths for us on this. To make the eight, the drags make the eight. Rooster's got to beat the Raiders. The Broncos have to beat the Dolphins then lose to the storm. The Knights need to lose to either the Titans or the Dolphins and the dragons have to beat the Raiders. So there you go. Not an impossible chance, but pretty close to it. All right, Shane Flanagan. He said this before the game, he said this could be the most important game of the year. They turned out that tripe. Let's hear what the Dragons coach had to say. Well, from a coaching perspective, you try and put it behind you and try and encourage a turnaround, but inside of you, burning. But you've got to try and do the right thing for as a coach and try and encourage a turnaround. We were still in it. Sorry, I thought we could still win it half time, but then that would come out half the time they went try, try again. So it discontinued and then all of a sudden something changed, but we're not going to step away from it. It's not acceptable. It's frustrating because we wouldn't be able to expect it. We couldn't get up today. You're never going to get up. No, I wouldn't say never. Today, today there'll be a lot more better dragons team, better better dragons performance as I said. I apologize for today, but stick with us. Oh, very disappointed. Oh yeah, it's touched on like it's all there for us to go and get it and push to the finals and yeah. Toss up the performance like that in the first half. It's just not acceptable, myself included. It's not any real standard. Honestly, I don't know. Didn't see it coming. I thought we had a good preparation. It was just right from that first set. We're going home. They looked fresher. They ran harder as well. Do you feel like the squad's a bit busted as well and is being stretched a lot? A lot. We can use that as an excuse. And as I've just said to the players in there, I can dissect it many, many different ways, but the first half wasn't acceptable for this jersey. And we needed to be accountable for it. The score in the end gave us hope. It only got people at four points. No, I'm not going to call that. Do you make changes? Fine, I'm so crucial. Do you mean to be able to do that? Well, unless I got it like a lay grade, I'm going to get some blows. I won't be making any changes. I don't want to be rude, but I've had enough. Thank you. It's hard to anywhere but here right now. I did make excuses, nor should I. I apologize that the burning is not acceptable. A little bit terse, understandably. He said, you know, stick with this. We can get better in our four points. No excuses. Go go to the A grade. But yeah, at half time, thought we could win it. We can see the first three tries. Not good enough. Everything to play for Ben Hunt. Glad to hear Ben Hunt took ownership. But well, not a pair of matters. So he said in a pair, they came out, they were hungry. Nothing to play for, really. Except to go out winners in their last home game in front of their fans and they did that well. They ran hard, they tackled hard. I mean, yes, they took the foot off a little bit at the end, but the game was over by then. They deserved the win. You know, and I'd love to have seen a miracle comeback, but nine tries to seven. They didn't deserve to be anywhere near them. They got pants, the dragons, and it's everything they deserved. We'll take a break, come back, wrap things up. Turn up the volume. Turn up the flavour. Wings, beers, and sporting glory. Only at Winghouse. Join the conversation. Call 1-300-01-1170. This is Sports HQ on SEM. Well, it's been a wild ride, hasn't it, the past three hours? Just about out of time for Sports HQ. This special edition of the program on SEM this Saturday afternoon. Thank you, everybody, for keeping me company over the last three. Also, ours and update as we continue to go around the grounds and our penalty to the Dolphins, they lead six points to nil. About half way through the first half and it's pain-haft, the returning pain-haft from that least frank injury who has given away the penalty. Sean O'Sullivan will reef it down town into touch and they'll get another set. So, the Dolphins with the upper head at the moment may need to win to keep their season alive, as do the Broncos for the winner of this game. Their season continues to lose up. That is good night for their final chance of 2024. So, a high stakes game at Suncorp Stadium tonight, a hot 1-2 in Brisbane. Mid-30s it was today and a decent crowd has turned out. Nonetheless, earlier today, it was the Eels 44 who defeated the Dragons 40. 40 is the most point scored by any team in a losing side in first-grade history. So, a piece of unwanted history there for St. George and Laura. We've done the maths on how they can make the eight, but Flanner, you heard that. Rather, Terce Exchange. A very short press conference. Sorry, guys, I can't do this. I'm out. What changes can you make? No excuses. Disappointing. They had their destiny in their hands and they fluffed it against a team who may still yet get the wooden spoon. Later on tonight, we've got the Crenola Sharks taking on the Warriors. Happy Father's Day. To all the dads celebrating Father's Day, tomorrow, whatever you're up to. I hope you have a wonderful day and it gets spoiled by your kids, or you spoil your old man. For that matter, an happy Father's Day to my old man. Another try here to the Dolphins. They're in again. Six points a nil now becomes 10 points a nil kick to come, and they are firing at the moment. So, Kevi, he said, "Ah, no, no. We're going to make the eight. We're a main scene." Thank you to our guests. Thank you to Matt Bungar, to Justin Wright, Mark of Glassic. Thank you to Mitch. I'm Jules. Have a great weekend. Bye-bye.
