Your community is here, and we're lifting each other up. Nick's Order of the D. Snapper. 37 yards to win the Rose Bowl. Flash Bowl to Poppin. Here's the snap. And the whole 37-yard field goal is gone! It's gone! The Texas Lawrence have won the Rose Bowl. Dusty Maynard, the senior. They win it. 38-37. That was the last time Texas and Michigan played. The only time they've met on the football field, it was just a little bit under exactly 20 years ago. It was the 2004 season, so it was 20 football seasons. It was January 1st, 2005. So this coming January 1st, it would be 20 years to the day. But obviously, it carries a lifetime of memories for Longhorns and Longhorn fans. We'll hear Will Matthews talk about it tomorrow? Obviously, Roger Wallace and Will and I will talk about it on the pregame show. We'll look back at that game and what really stood out about that. We will, but obviously, this is in the here and now, about two football programs who have since gone on to win. Each has gone on to win a national championship. Texas winning theirs, the very next season, 2005. It's been largely stated that it was that win over Michigan that really set in motion all that happened for Texas in the ensuing 2005 season. Which, of course, was capped by the national championship in the Rose Bowl. Another thrilling win in the Rose Bowl. They needed three more points in what they scored against Michigan. Remember to beat the Wolverines on that Dusty Mangum field goal 38-37. And they beat USC 41-38. Michigan did not win a national championship again until last season when the Wolverines won it. And so now they're the defending national champions. And, you know, Cam, I've heard a lot of comments including what we just heard from Gene Watson. There's a lot of very, very confident media and long-orn fans who have the feeling that this thing is going to be rather easy tomorrow. Are you feeling that? It makes me nervous because after Saturday, after watching Texas play and watching Michigan play, I thought, man, there's absolutely no way that Michigan can hang with Texas. But as the week goes on, you're starting to see more people predict Texas and pick Texas big. And all the models, unlike the weather models, Craig, all the models in college football seem to agree that Texas wins this game, including ESPN's FBI winning by 10. But then, you know, I look back at Michigan's defending national champion and it's not like the program's going to fall off the face of the earth here. There's still a lot of players on that Michigan roster now. They lost a lot of draft picks. But there's still guys who are part of that winning culture, right? You're playing at the big house. You got big noon kickoff there. You have college game in there. It kind of reminds me of Texas, Alabama. Two years ago, you know, when Alabama was the number one team in the country in Texas, I believe they were unranked. And that came down to a last second fuel goal from Alabama. And if not, Bert Arbon, we thought for a moment, put Texas in front for good. So it doesn't matter how many draft picks you lost. The start kind of alluded to on Monday now. There is a big talent gap and not having JJ McCarthy behind center may prove to be really big for Michigan. But I think this game is going to be a lot closer than people expect because the way Michigan plays football and because they're playing in front of what will probably be the largest game. The largest crowd Texas football has ever played in since the 2005 game at the horseshoe against the Ohio State in '05. So I think it's going to be a lot closer. The way Michigan plays football, I mean, they only play about 60, 62 plays per game. And you know, some of the schools in the country play about 90. So the way they play football, it doesn't really allow for them to get blown out. Now, if Quinn, yours connects on a couple of big passes, maybe it does turn into a double digit game. But I do like Texas, but I don't see this turning into a big win. Yeah, I don't either. And I hope we're both wrong. I hope it does go easy for the Longhorns. But as I sit here and I look around and by the way, it is going to. It's about to be banned practice here in a few minutes. The band is kind of making its way out here for Michigan. But as I sit here, I'm just thinking about, you know, I think SARC has rattled off. You know, what, what, not only what they did last year and three straight years of being in the college football playoff and all that. But what they've done in this building. And I think that does count for something. I know last year has nothing to do with this year's team other than the experience of the guys coming back. But there is a comfort level playing at home. They are going to be fired up about it. Listen, when the plane landed in Charlotte and we took off from Austin and it was chock full along with his. There were a few Michigan fans on it, but it was mainly long. And when it landed in Charlotte, the lead flight attendant telling us blah, blah, blah. Do you know, make sure to check and ever had been content may have shifted. Hope you enjoyed your flight and go blue. She said that people were like, no, no, no, no, no, Texas is fine. And all that stuff happened, you know, that out of that. So there's, you know, I get the feeling that this team, I think Sharon Moore is a good coach. I think you'll have him ready to go. You know, it was interesting he was asked because, you know, he played at OU. If any of his old Oklahoma teammates had reached out to him this week and he said, oh, yeah, probably some. But, you know, this is about Michigan and so on and so forth. He's a very low key, low level guy in terms of being empty. But I think these guys will be ready to go tomorrow. They're still very talented guys. They're still Colston Loveland and there's, there's still Donovan Edwards is a good running back. And they're, they're really thrilled with what they saw from Davis Warren, even though he had by statistical measures, perhaps a pedestrian game. And Alex or she's going to get on the field, he will play in what specific roles. It'll be interesting to see that they want to get the ball in his hands and have a really good defense. So, you know, none of this is going to be a cakewalk. I think by any stretch of the long ones are on their game and playing their game. I think they come out on top, but I don't think anything's going to be handed to them. I think it's, I think it's probably going to be kind of difficult. But that matter, yeah, you know, doesn't matter by how many. If you win by one, you win by one. If you win, win by 21, you know, whatever it is, if the long ones are able to get through it and win, that's the main thing to get it to two and a before they go home for the next three weeks. All right, we'll be back to wrap up today's edition of the program and wrap up the week here on Sports Radio AM 13 under the zone in the IR radio app. Breaking news coming in from Bet365, where every nail biting overtime win, breakaway, pick six, three-point shot, underdog win, buzzer beater, shoot out, walk off, and absolutely every play in between is amazing.
