As I kicked off last night, the Kansas City Chiefs, a 27-20 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Coming down to the final play, what we thought was a touchdown that could tie the game up. Lamar Jackson to Isaiah likely turned out. That likely toe was on the white line out of bounds. Ravens were going to go for two. They were going to go for the win or go for the loss here. So it maybe ends up, the Chiefs are still 1-0, but a heck of a football game to start off the 2024 season. I think both mean Andrew Phil. Pretty good about both teams going into the season. Not a must-win game for either team. And maybe there's no must-win games. It's week one after all, but let's have some fun here. It's radio, sports talk radio. Let's overreact, Zimmel. And I want to hear what team is playing a must-win game in week one. Now, I'm throwing on this, throwing at this to you for the moment. So I'll go first. I'll go first. And I think a lot of cowboy fans who have listened to this program are expecting me to pick Dallas. And you know what? I probably would, but I'm going to go in a different direction here. I'm going to go to Monday night football, ESPN, Levi Stadium. And I'm going to say the New York Jets are playing a must-win game on Monday. Now they're playing San Francisco. So you lose a San Fran, not so bad. But this is the Jets team, Andrew, that last season, in the offseason, before Aaron Rodgers got injured, we heard how good the Jets were going to be. Man, Rodgers, you know, he said, he's going to win the MVP. They got this great defense, Salah, Garrett Wilson, Breeze Hall. Rodgers goes down on what like the third fourth play of the game. The Jets win seven games, missed the playoffs, but here they are 2024. And hey, they are my pick the one, the AFC East. I like this Jets team and what Robert Salah has built. It's a roster loaded from top to bottom. But Andrew, if we get to Monday night against San Francisco and Aaron Rodgers looks like a 40 year old man coming off a major injury, I think the Jets may be in trouble. Yeah, and also you got to consider that he's playing San Francisco. He's a Bay Area guys, a California kid. A loss of the 49ers probably hurts his ego as well. So I might not be far off from the truth that it is a must-win for the Jets, especially when you talk about the media circus that is New York. They lose that game and lose it bad. You come back to New York, who would hate to be on the radio on Monday morning? I like that the ego side, the ego side of it. Yeah, New York will eat them up. No matter what happens this season, they're going to tear apart the Jets. They're going to pick apart every single thing they do. But the 13 years, 14 years since their last playoff appearance, if they do make it gross, do make it all the way. New York media is going to let everyone know about it. Okay. So that's my, my week one must-win team. What about you, Simmel? Do you have a must-win week one team? Well, look, can we talk a little ego? Let's talk about the hype train that is the Chicago Bears. The Chicago Bears, for the first time in their franchise's history, feel like they have a decent quarterback. They've officially turned the page on the, we're going to run the ball down your throat era. And they're now into the, we're going to try to throw the ball around the field. They've got really good receivers. They just run hard knocks. And of course, they have Caleb Williams. They play a team in the Tennessee Titans who lose Derek Henry, who have a ton of question marks and quarterback. They don't have a identity, in my opinion. It's in the soldier, it's at soldier field. The Bears, if they don't look at least marginally better than they did a year prior. And Caleb Williams doesn't look, I'm not going to say he has to look like Patrick Mahomes, but he doesn't at least look like Justin Herbert. I think a lot of people are going to be really upset about the hype around this kid. So the Bears, it feels weird after how bad they've been for so long. But week one, if you lose the Titans, people are going to be starting to have some conversations about overrated when it comes to Caleb Williams. That's a great pick because myself included. A lot of people have been drinking the Bears Kool-Aid. They finally have a good quarterback. I love the weapons they have. DJ Moore, Kenan Allen, Roman Dunesay, the former Washington wide out. He got Roshan Johnson at Telbec, who doesn't love rojo and defensively their defense. Well, it was pretty good last year. So I like your angle here that if they lose this game, if Caleb Williams throws like two interceptions and will Davis has like three touchdowns and they tear apart the Tennessee, the Titans tear apart the Chicago defense and the Chicago offense just looks awful. I think you're right, Andrew. I think there will be first first game on a fair to Caleb Williams, but it's true. It's the truth because if he doesn't look like the next guy, look, we said that if you guys look like Justin Herbert, let's go even more charitable. He doesn't look like Houston Texans, the Sean Watson. People are going to be asking a bunch of questions like, is this guy overrated? What do we expect? And the other part too, this is not a division that's going to be an easy division to win because the lions are picked if win, the Packers play tonight, they got Jordan Love. So a loss early in the season to the Titans, the Bears think they're going to go in the playoffs this year, Cam. Like I, Bears fans in my life have been telling me this is the playoff team. So I'm concerned for Caleb Williams. What's the first take segment? You have the Bears lose on Monday, because I think if they lose and Caleb plays awful, the first the first first take segment in the A block, I think it's going to be about Caleb Williams. Is it was it going to be like, it's a spotlight too big for Caleb Williams. I'm going to say I'm going to say I got you here. You're ready for this? We're going to we're going to take the two favorite things. Rookie of the year candidate Dallas Cowboys should the Cowboys trade Dak Prescott for Caleb Williams after Caleb Williams looks bad in week one. You heard it here first, that's going to be the first type A block segment. I like that. Although it does sound like reading the tea leaves here from, from Jera and Steven Jones. I think, I think Cowboys fans, they're close. They're really close to a Dak Prescott deal. Jerry was interviewed yesterday. Yeah, because we're also going to be the quarterback next season. Who's your quarterback? You have no, you have no quarterbacks signed under contract in 2025. If we want the 2025 right now, Andrew, there'll be zero quarterbacks signed by the Dallas Cowboys. Trail asked through four interceptions in his last preseason team. He's playing against third and fourth string DBs. You're throwing four picks against those guys. No, you're done. You're not a quarterback. Either change positions or learn. Go ahead and start learning. Where else they play football? Canadian? Yeah, go and learn. Go and learn. Go start learning French buddy. Cooper Rush, not it. You got to sign Dak Prescott. You got to do it. It sounds like a five year deal. I know people say, well, he doesn't get it down in the big States. Well, you know what? I think it goes beyond Dak Prescott. It goes beyond on the football field. And it comes down from what's in the front office and ownership. Oh, you're excited to see Quinn, you were with a star in his helmet? Because that's where it's interested. Interesting. I think maybe arch many in three years. I think arch is the guy. Okay. All right. I like that. You know, if a man is in the draft, there's no way Jerry doesn't doesn't pick him. I have one more for you in the must wins in week number one. All right. I got to slip this in here. It's the Dallas Cowboys playing in front of Tom Brady. I think that there has to be there has to have been a conversation behind the scenes. You know, Tom Brady is a part owner of the Raiders. Jerry could make it worth his while come out of retirement, come out of the booth, play quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Do what you've always been meant to do is be the quarterback for America's team. If that doesn't look great, let alone good. Tom Brady is in the box, annihilating him, tearing him to shreds. Could there be a world whereby like week seven, they're not calling Tom being like, Hey, we will, uh, we'll buy you out of whatever Fox deal you have. Well, we'll put you in the, the, you know, put you in the star. I'm just saying it might not be a bad idea. You had me until the Cowboys pain, whatever Fox is paying him. Andrew Dallas won't even pay Dak Prescott. They're going to pay Tom Brady in his Fox. Still, I mean, he's probably, he's making his deal is probably ridiculous. He's probably making more money than Dak Prescott. I would think he's 100% making more money than Dak Prescott. But I'm just saying, I mean, you know, I think Jerry would be the type of guy who would he throw money behind at quarterback who's won seven rings. I don't think Dak Prescott has been to seven houses with a ring camera. Like, I mean, it's just, it's that there's no cop. It is Tom Brady's broadcast and debut. And as we all know, Tom Brady, he's going to come out firing. I don't think he's going, he's going to come out. All guns are blazing at the Cowboys play bad. He will rip apart Dak Prescott. Now the other hand, if the Sean Watson looks like the Sean Watson of 2023 and not the Sean Watson of 2021, the Sean Watson's going to get picked apart. But yeah, Cowboys, I think also in a must win game, considering all the injuries Cleveland has, no Nick Chub Jerome Ford is her starting quarter starting running back. You got the Sean Watson who he might be washed. We don't know. I mean, I know the defense looks good. But hey, remember, you have a rookie going up against Miles Garrett, who might be the best player in the football league now that Aaron Donald is retired. So it could go really it could go south really quickly. It could be Miles Garrett living in the Cowboys back field. Just tearing apart Dak Prescott, all of a sudden Dak has two interceptions. You're playing in Cleveland. It's a, it's a six, six ball game second half. Who knows? But I'll tell you what, the Cowboys lose that game and Tom Brady is picking apart the Cowboys on live TV because everyone will be watching this game. I think the remaining cowboy fans who are still buying what Jerry is selling are quickly, quickly hopping off the bandwagon. I'll tell you, if the Cowboys put up six points in Tom Brady's debut, I'll be riding to Fox saying get them off my TV. I don't need to see Dallas and Cal or Dallas and Cleveland, but it combined 12 points on my TV screen. I'm going to have a problem with that. That would stink awful game for Brady's debut.
