You can find him on Twitter. CJ Fogle_OTF. He is a college football insider and recruiting analyst for on Texas football, representing outside. You can see the big M if you're watching us on our live stream on AM 13 of the zone. CJ, first up, give us a recap of your travel day because by your Twitter play-by-play, it sounds like you had one heck of an experience. Yeah, so I've lived in Texas my whole life. I've never flown out of Houston. And unfortunately, I had to make the decision to fly out of Houston to get up to Ann Arbor for the game tomorrow. I didn't realize there were two big airports, and I didn't realize the one with an H in the name was not hobby. So I went to hobby about probably 3.45 in the morning, flight left at 5.45. Realized very soon thereafter, I was at the wrong airport, had to book it up there to buy George Bush. Somehow, someway, we made it before the flight left the terminal, but man, what a disaster of a morning, I'll tell you that. Yeah, I think the IAH stands for it was an international airport Houston, right? Is that the correct? It makes sense. It makes sense. Wait, now you know, for the next time Texas goes to the big house. I've gotten a lot of reports, CJ, from friends who've been in Detroit, who've been in Ann Arbor, saying they seen a lot of burn orange. Craig was talking about it on his flight was mostly burn orange. You seen a lot of burn orange out there in Ann Arbor? I'll tell you what, it was packed in Houston on an airport coming up to Detroit. It was packed in Detroit. Whenever I was waiting for the bags, it's been packed walking around campus. There's a lot of orange. I know that Michigan wants to do the maze out tomorrow, so I think their plan is some of that yellow hide some of that orange, so it doesn't bleed out as much as it would and some of that dark blue that they got going on. Yeah, that burn orange would stick out next to that blue from Michigan. Let's get into the game. CJ, I think the two biggest things that will decide this game for me is the battle in the trenches and the explosive plays. What about you? Yeah, absolutely. And I hate to make it sound that simple, but where does Michigan's explosivity come from? It's Colston Loveland and then who? The wide receivers didn't have much to show for against Fresno State. I know that playbook wasn't open all that much, but hey, Davis one didn't look like he was all that accurate down the field. Only one of five passes beyond 10 yards, including an interception. So if you take away Colston Loveland, where can Michigan beat you if it's not the run game that bodes well for the long words. If they get up early in that game. So I agree with you 100 cents. I just can't control that line of scrimmage defensively. All of a sudden, a big question mark loans for Michigan in terms of how they move the football. And CJ, we've talked a little bit about this week, the idea that Michigan might run two quarterbacks out there. How realistic do you think that is? I do think that they're going to have some sort of package for this, right? You know, maybe snake and Alex are working on the field with Davis Warren, maybe as an outside wide receiver. Again, this is a guy that with the ball in his hands is very dynamic. You know, he's not a great passer. He's never quite been a great passer. You know, there's a lot of coaches in the DFW area when he was a quarterback coming out. I thought, hey, maybe as a wide receiver, maybe as a state piece where you're going to be long term. You'd be a great, you know, player at those positions because you're so athletic. Obviously, Michigan had him on the field for nine plays, five of them direct rushing teams out of the quarterback spot. So I think it's realistic. They're going to come with some sort of twist or stunts or something that you haven't seen before on film to make Texas second guess what they've got going on game plan-wise. But they're going to need him to throw the football and be accurate to beat Texas. Mom, see you're looking at the Texas run game. Did you see enough from last week with Jared Gibson and Trey Weisner and Jaden Blue, that makes you feel more confident about the Texas rushing attack going in the Michigan? Yeah, fortunately for Texas, right? You returned four out of five from a year ago in the apples of wine. They've gone up against Vyram Murphy for longer, so that all year. I know that Mason Graham Kenneth Grant are amongst the two best interior defense line in the entire country. This group has had similar battles like this in spring and fall and obviously, you know, all sorts of practices leading up to last year and tomorrow. I did see enough between the tackles. That was a big question. Can Texas run between its tackles efficient without a CJ Baxter? I thought Jared Gibson looked good. He ran hard. He ran decisive. That to me is exactly what you want to see out of a guy making his college debut. Can you get enough out of Jaden Blue and Trey Weisner? That's not necessarily some of those gimmick outside zone schemes and quick throws. I think so, but that's another question that Texas will have to prove tomorrow. Michigan features one of the best cornerbacks in all college football. Will Johnson, he wears number two after Charles Woodson, but replacing a lot of guys in the secondary. They lost Rod Moore to an ACL in the spring. Their other safety sob transferred to Alabama. We hear a lot about this Michigan secondary, but do you think Sark can attack this Michigan secondary like he attacked Alabama's last year? Yeah, I do. And I say that because Fresno State did, right? They had 12 passes beyond 10 yards a week ago. They completed eight. If you're completing 67% of your passes beyond 10 yards, something's going pretty well for you offensively. And I know the big question is, will you have enough time to defend Quayor as well? Fresno State had a pretty solid showing on their offensive line. They're a good team. They're a better team in Colorado State, but Texas is a better team than both of them. So I expect the Longhorns have a solid offensive line performance. And there's just so many weapons that Texas can deploy at a given moment offensively. How do you defend all of them? Michigan has one Will Johnson. Texas has a lot of playmakers that can beat them in other ways. I was going to piggyback off of that Alabama game last year. We talked to Sark earlier this week about like the experience that these guys have, like 40 of them went to Tuscaloosa last year to beat Alabama. How much or how important do you think that's going to be guys who have already Aced a test early in the season? Yeah, I do think there is value in that. And especially in some of the big positions that those guys return on, right? I mentioned off his line. When he was comes back, you have Anthony Hill and a big time role now is kind of the focal leader on that team as the communicator with the green dot. You know, they're a number of key leaders back. John A. Ben, Ben's row, Ethan Barker, guys that played very instrumental roles now have big leadership voices on this team. They know what it's like to go on the road early in the year and got a big marquee win. And this is no different. CJ, before we let you go, give us your prediction for tomorrow's game. Oh boy, I've been 31 13 Texas all week. I just don't know how Michigan moves the ball offensively. If Texas sells out to spot the run, Davis Warren's not a quarterback that can beat you. We've known that to be the case. His entire college career, right? It's it's no secret that it's taken five years to become a starting quarterback. You watched the spring game. You looked all right. You didn't look great. You watched the Fresno State game. You looked all right. You didn't look great. In Texas, why am I to believe that all of a sudden he's going to make a massive jump. If that running game with Diamond Edwards is still averaging 2.7 yards per carry and it's below mollings that carries the load. I think Texas has too much scoring opportunities, too many paths to victory. Longhorns win and they win big. It makes sense. CJ, what's your plan for the day out exploring in Arbor with the time you have left or you staying busy? Well, I'm going to go check out this campus, man. It's beautiful weather. I got the long sleeve on right now. I'm liking what I'm saying from Michigan right now. It's pretty beautiful up here. Hey, enjoy it. Enjoy the game tomorrow. Thanks for coming on and safe travels back to Austin. Thank you, fellas. Thanks for having me on. He is CJ, your flight. Yeah, you don't want to do that. CJ Fogo from on Texas football, college football, insider and recruiting analysts for on Texas football, follow him on Twitter. CJ Fogo underscore, underscore OTF on Texas football, doing a great job that he actually just got off a live stream on their YouTube channel with Bobby Burton and Rod Babers and Jerry Hamilton doing a lot of work this weekend as Texas prepares for Michigan. Andrew, I mean, listening to that, I think as a Texas fan, you feel even more confident going into tomorrow. 31 17. I don't know about all that. I had a 10 point game. I didn't have it that big. I think my prediction. I also have, I think it's Texas 30 17. The way Michigan plays football, it's going to be tougher to become a blowout. And even, even if you tell me it's a seven point game in the fourth quarter, I think that's fine. I mean, they're, they're a football team that likes to drain the clock out. They like to grind you down. I mean, they were in the like 120th in, in snaps per game this past season. I think they right on the same average against Fresno State last week, you know, they're not a very up temple team. It'll be interesting to see if Sark and Texas can make Michigan play up tempo on defense. >> I'll say this as a leader in the clubhouse when it comes to Quinn Ewers propaganda, I think that a Quinn Ewers breakout game, we're talking multiple touchdowns. We're talking about hundreds of yards, kind of similar to what Joe Burrow did when he came to Austin 2019. This is the first domino I need to fall if I want Quinn to win a Heisman. And I think it's going to happen this weekend. >> I mean, we saw it against Alabama last year at Brian Denny Stadium. I mean, big game Quinn. There's a reason why people call him that. I mean, look at how he played against Oklahoma the first time around that he's awesome that you call him that big game Quinn. He's a big game hunter, Oklahoma 49, nothing to the same thing against Alabama. This past year, media two of the best passes I've ever seen a Texas quarterback throw one, the 80 Mitchell and one to exave your worthy. Those are you should write headlines. We should get you at the newspaper writing headlines big game Quinn. >> I don't think I coined big game Quinn. I think that was coined by somebody after the Alabama game this past season. But hey, to your point, if yours has a similar type game that he had against Alabama, against Michigan, I think Texas wins this game. You're going to you're going to you're already number three in the poll. You might be number two. And at that point, Quinn, yours is probably the prohibitive Heisman favorite. But we'll get more into Texas, Michigan talk throughout the show update on Craigway. This is after all the Craigway show. He is currently, I believe he may have just walked by CJ at the big house. They are setting up the Texas radio broadcast booth in Ann Arbor right now. So hopefully around an hour or so, we will have Craigway joining us. Hopefully get Roger Wallace with us. Gene Watson as well. But up next, it's a Friday. It's also inconceivable in Friday. On inconceivable means one thing, Florida man. That's right. Andrew Zimmel has got us up next year as the Craigway show continues on a fire me up Friday. Breaking news from this one is almost unbelievable.
