You know, we always hear whenever we talk to temporary, we always hear from our Permian Panthers. Am I props to my Permian Panthers for the first ever victory of the Plano Wildcats. They lost twice in the state semifinals, once in the finals. I love you to death. That is a correction. They never played Plano in the state championship game. If you think about it, it had to be Region 1 against Region 2. Remember, so it'd be 75. I think they played him in the quarterfinal. And it was back several years ago. Maybe it was Gerald Brents' final year as the head coach at Plano. I can't remember, but that and might. But anyway, it was in like a quarterfinal. And then, of course, they had the two semifinals. You mentioned they were epic, epic games. 1977, they played in the state semifinals. Permian won the neutral home flip and elected plate. Jones Stadium in Lubbock, where Texas Tech plays and Plano won three nothing. Then they met the next year. And because of the IELS rule that, you know, if you lose a flip, you have to go to the other guy's place or in this case, neutral home. The next year, if it happens within a five-year time window and it happened the next year. So the next year was a Texas stadium and the final was six to three Plano in that one. So it was incredible in that game, by the way. And I had the old coach who at Kemper Cell, who is part of our Friday night crew for television. But he was an assistant coach on Tom Kimbroe's staff in 1977 and '78. And he told the story bell, they had one very speedy defensive back who blocked one field goal attempt, but then they moved him around the other side and blocked a second one later in the game. So Plano won both of those semifinal games. In '77, they won the state championship. They went on the next week and they beat Porton Hs Groves, which to this day is still the highest attendance for a single game session for state championship. 49,953 a Texas stadium. I know they had back several years ago when I think when you as Trinity was in there and Allen was in there and they had all these other ones, they had to combine the tenants where it was like 61,000 or something. But that's when they had three games, you know, they're at Jerry World. So it was hard to singularly set it apart. The next year, when Plano beat Permian and got to the finals, they lost to Houston Stratford, who had a running back by the name of Craig James. They won 29 to 13 in the Astrodome on that one couple other high school football. I mean, a couple other Texas football notes. He was pretty good high school football player at debt and Ryan was Anthony Hill. But now, of course, in his sophomore season at the University of Texas and he was asked how it felt to move inside and get his first game under his belt as middle linebacker. Feel good. I've been doing it a lot in practice, so it kind of just felt like just a normal day in practice. It's communicating getting better, getting the line, so it felt pretty good. He had a big tackle for loss early in the game. Did he feel like it set the tone for the rest of the contest? That felt like he did kind of set the tone as one of the leaders and the four of the few leaders on the team. I feel like we kind of have to set the tone for the defense. And we've been watching that play on film for like since since the first starting. So where did they come to first play the game? It kind of was just like, oh, wow, they actually ran it. So it felt kind of good for that happen. And then somebody asked him, you look fast out there. Maybe even faster. Did you feel faster? I feel like I'm playing faster because I kind of understand what's going on, what's going on, understand concepts, understand, rescue. So I feel like I'm playing faster and moving at a better pace. OK, all right, that's that's pretty cool. All right, we'll hear some more from him. And obviously we'll we'll hear some more from Matthew Golden coming up next hour as well.
