Craig Wayne, Cameron Parker, the producer, taking along here in this final hour of the program and we get ready in a few minutes. We're going to visit with Roger Wallace, my broadcast partner along going football and of course, Roger's Sports Director at KXAN. They began there. I'm going to ask him about this. I think he said 12th. I could be wrong, 12th season of high school football telecast on KBVO. Now tonight, they're telecast, their annual presentation of the Taco Shack Bowl between Anderson and McCallum will actually be on the CW, on KBV, on 54 because the Westlake Prosper game will be on KBVO. I believe that's the arrangement, but I'll let Roger confirm that, and then we'll talk about some other things. I've got some new programming, long-worn related. We talked a little bit about it last week, and we'll do some more about that as well. Tomorrow on the program, you'll hear an excerpt from long-worn weekly with Coach Stark. The season premiere of that will immediately follow this hour. It'll be at five o'clock. So if you're just getting into the car to drive out, at five o'clock is long-worn weekly with Coach Stark out of Pluckers. We record the show on Wednesday evenings, and we did so last night, the season premiere. We had a great time, great crowd out there. Alex Ocafort was there with us as always, going into the UT Hall of Honor, tremendous college career. It was in all American in Texas, it played in the NFL, obviously, for nine years. It played with Kansas City at the end, it has a Super Bowl ring, and just a great citizen. The guy's from Flugerville. When he was in college of Texas, he gave back to his community by reading the kids at the elementary school where he came out of, and then when he was in the NFL, he gave money back to the schools there, comes back home, and what does he do? He runs for school board and gets elected. He's on the Flugerville school board. That's the greatness of Alex Ocafort. He's on the program with us, and again, we record the show on Wednesdays at Pluckers, the West Campus location at 22-22 Rio Grande, so if you want to come out for the show, come out on Wednesdays, we do it from six to seven, but the show airs on Thursdays here on the zone, normally in the evening, but would still round-rock express baseball going on. It'll be at five o'clock this afternoon, so five this afternoon, immediately following the conclusion of this program, is Longhorn Weekly, the season premiere with Coach Sark. Speaking of Sark, we'll hear some more comments from his media's Thursday, media availability he did this morning, and we'll hear some more from him on that coming up later this hour as well as some more from Rodney Terry, Longhorn's assistant, excuse me, Longhorn Head Men's Basketball Coach, so from Sark and from RT, the two head coaches of football and men's basketball respectively, we'll hear from them coming up a little bit later on this hour. Did you see the contract extension for Steph Curry? I did. How about this? Now, before I throw these crazy, crazy, monopoly money numbers at you, remember who we're talking about here? We're talking about, I'm going to use the word arguably, arguably the greatest pure shooter in basketball history, NBA history, is that a fair argument to say? Yeah, I think Steph Curry is firmly the best shooter all time. The way I do it, greatest player of all time, NJ, greatest career of all time, LeBron James, greatest shooter of all time, Steph Curry, greatest scorer, Kevin Durant. Okay, greatest big man. That's tough because it's between Bill Russell, Will, and Duncan. No Kareem. I had Kareem, yeah, Kareem, but that's so tough because they're there, you know, Will probably the more talented, but just was more obsessed with off the court stuff and me, me, me, Bill Russell, probably the greatest teammate of all time, right there with Tim Duncan and then Kareem, who, you know, 20 years, you what, one, four, five, six rings, something like that, cap, the captain, the consummate pro, yeah, no doubt about all right. So here's the deal with Steph Curry. Just a one year extension. That's all. It keeps him under contract with Golden State through the 2026, 2027 season. The his agent, Jeff Austin of octagon told ESPN's Adrian Orginarowski today. The extension is one year, the one year, $62.6 million, $62 million, $600,000 one year. He had two years left on his four year, $215 million contract. He signed in August of 2021. He did. He was eligible to sign only a one year extension. This off season due to, I love this, I, I've got a, I've got to bone up on my NBA. I didn't know they had an over 38 rule. Yeah. I think it's, it's kind of like LeBron James Roy. Yeah, I guess. But they call it the over 38 rule. It prevents teams from offering contracts of four years or more to players who are or will be 38 years old during the deal. The over 38, Curry's 36, says he wants to finish his career as a warrior. It's the only franchise he's ever played for is, and so, and of course he comes off of that absolutely landmark performance in the Olympics. Yeah. So his market value probably has never been higher. Nope. So I don't know that too many people have much of a problem with that. I mean, yeah, the money is just crazy, many ridiculous money. We know that, but you think about what some guys who have achieved and accomplished far less than what he has and the tens of millions they're making, I really don't have a problem with that. I mean, and again, I'm not a ticket buying person in, in San Francisco either. So I'm not, I'm not the one paying the ticket price, but I really don't see a problem with it. Yeah. And we'll see. And that kicks in in 2026. Dream on Green's contract will be a player option, Wiggins will be a player option. If we're guessing they're still going to be there. I started to say here's, here's a, it's not necessarily a bold prediction, but it's a prediction I'm making in August of 2024. Dream on Green will not be with the Warriors by the time we get to 2026. It's, it's not a hot take because, you know, wars who might be a playing team this year, maybe, you know, I mean, they added buddy healed and in Kyle Anderson and the Anthony Melton, but besides that, you know, a roster isn't all that great when you compare it to other NBA teams. And I know they still have Steph Curry, but over the course of a season, it's not the same Golden State roster will see. So a very interesting cap situation, it makes more sense for them to move off of Wiggins to move off of Dream on Green. So they can have more cap flexibility in 2026, cause outside of Curry, I mean, they only have three players under contract Curry for 62 million and then Kyle Anderson, buddy healed for about 10 million needs. Everyone else is either player option, club option, or will be a free agent. So more cap flexibility there, which is probably why they wouldn't head and just did this move to ensure Curry will be here. But yeah, 55 for Curry this season, 59 next year in 62, he's making almost 40% of their cap this year. We'll be Stefan. Amazing. All right. Up next, we'll visit Roger Wallace, talk about some things to come in the KXN family that are both long-worn related and high school football related when we continue on Sports Radio AM 13 under the zone in the IR radio app. You slept through your alarm, missed the train, and your breakfast sandwich.
