So I can only assume that there are monsters in Denver that only come out after dark and everybody had to get home before the nocturnal Chupacabras come out and eat everybody. We are here to talk about NXT, which was like, from a booking standpoint, I had less complaints about this and we have about a lot of other shows, to be honest. Still some different roots and some stuff that was extremely predictable, like our opening match. But what was interesting for me today was a couple of things. The first was seeing people's perception of the product that only watched PLEs versus watch it weekly on my timeline was very funny. They watched two different shows. They have two different realities of watching NXT, which I always kind of knew, but it was wild to see the differentiation between the two. And the other was that on the women's side, there is a large gap that, well, we'll talk about as time goes on, but it feels like the difference between the top and the middle right now is very, very large and that gap is only going to widen with the incoming talent. So we'll address all that when we get to it, but extremely short show, to your point, and yeah. >> So a quick peek behind the curtain for us, for me particularly, is a very, very dear friend of mine, old friend of both me and my wife. She is the lead singer in like a rock cover band and there was this very, very small town about an hour and 15 minutes south of us that has like a Labor Day festival every year and at this Labor Day festival, they were going to play, they were going to play. And so we were like, let's go and see. And because for some now, see, I've gotten my daughter into rock band and guitar hero where she sings, and she wants to be a rock star. So she was really excited to go and see her- >> Little Miss, he let the rock star. >> Yeah, so to sing or whatever, so we're going to go see that, right? Their set was supposed to start at four, so about an hour and 15 minutes away, we were going to watch the first set and then half of the second set, and then we were going to leave and be back in time right at 7 p.m. central when almost all PLEs start. And I found out while I was there that no, it's going to start our earlier than I thought. And so I was like, Kate, can you please figure out what the hell's going on in the first hour? This thing is not going to be here. But then of course, then the drummer took a wrong turn at Albuquerque or something, I don't know. So he showed up late and they didn't get a chance to start playing their first set until like a half hour, 40 minutes later, they were supposed to, which was fun to like hang out with my old friend and like, you know, talk about stuff. But at the same time, we were there to watch the music. So my wife drove home while I was watching Peacock on my phone and just trying to pay attention. Like a little kid is watching Peacock on my phone. I sat in the backseat, we have all those little things on the headrest, you just slide a phone in there and I had my little, my little pink headphones on and I was, no, I wasn't. I was watching in the front seat, but so I feel like I personally should have been notified of the earlier start time. Sean Michaels, next time little, just send me a text, a little quick text. You blocked all of us on Twitter, but like, should have text to your boy. Let me know. I will approve of this. It also felt weird to me because it's two hours earlier, like, because they're doing it in Denver, mountain time, so they would start it at five p.m. local time and be out before the stroke of eight was, was crazy to me. So all of that being said, I watched, I watched Chase U implode on a, like a four and a half inch screen, sitting in the passenger seat, sucking on an Oreo milkshake, like, watch the whole thing just celebrating, celebrating the downfall of the worst gimmick in the history of wrestling. Chase U finally destroyed from within. No, honestly, they're gonna, they're gonna last forever, but, so we, we took the titles off the blurry boys to just get to Ridge Holland is actually a jerk, thanks. Yeah. That was the whole deal. That was the whole deal. This was when it started, when I noticed people that like follow the weekly product versus not on my timeline, because there were a lot of people that were genuinely shocked by this and I wasn't shocked by this at all. No, it was, no, no, they, they, here's a deal. If you're only watched the PLEs, you could be shocked by this. If you watch the weekly TV, they have been laying it on thick, really thick, that Ridge is definitely turning. You can't have both Duke Hudson and Miles E. Ross born. You cannot have both guys who used to think, I don't know about this whole Ridge fella. And then you're like, you know what, actually, we both agree now, we talked about it. And we think that Ridge Holland is man of the year for, he's a golly, jolly good fellow in the key of E, let's go fellas. And they, they, they were, they dated the guy and now they love the guy way too much. And then Ridge Holland was like, as long as we still have the tag titles, I'll never be mean to anybody in ChaseU. And oh my God, what might happen if they were to lose said tag titles? No idea. No idea. Yeah. I thought this was quite a rib on you initially, because I thought this match was actually quite good. This was the, the best that we've seen out of ChaseU, out of this combo for sure, of guys, both in Mr. Chase's case paired with anybody, and this was really good from Ridge Holland. I'm someone, I'm a near falls sicko. I love a match with a bunch of near falls in it, so this was for me. I actually thought the chemistry was quite good, our beloved blurry boys, Fraxiom, are just unbelievable. Those guys to me are, are the new, if a tag team can have a good match with those guys, get out of the business. Yeah. That's how, that's how good those guys are, how they bump and feed for everybody. How that their high spots feed into your high spots, those guys, those guys are truly amazing. I, I still remember, I think the best tag match we've seen on regular NXT television was those two guys against Malik Blade and Idris and O'Fay, all people who have never had a match, even approaching that level, like ever. Largely because they have a little attitude, but yes, yeah. The blurry ball, but even in like, oh, okay, I've seen them have eight minute matches. And maybe they're, maybe they're like, okay, I should not allow to actually be good in this match. So tamper it down a little bit. Maybe that's what happening, but I'm watching those guys in that amazing match they had with the blurry boys and going like, why don't we see this more often? And maybe it's because the blurry boys bring out amazing things out of everybody they wrestle because I was watching this going, again, on a highway, little four and a half inch screen or whatever it is. But I was like, the blurry boys, they're it, man, I don't, they call them up. Give them an actual name, but call them up, let them, let them do stuff. They're too good for this place. Like they're too good for this place. Let them, let them, let them shine as much as possible. I wonder if part of the reason they haven't broken up yet is they're being eyed for the main roster. Because it felt like they're headed for an obvious split and then all of a sudden it was a little pump that breaks and I'm sure that they were turning some heads doing the work that they were doing. The empty cyclo with the chat saying, "Ridge needs to wrecking ball, chase you with walls down." But she kind of did. He kind of did today on this from Alpha Bill, maybe left. Albuquerque was your driver, Bugs Bunny when he said out here. That was the joke I was making. So yes. That's a good one. Thank you for coming up. Be given there. It's good. I thought match quality wise, this was really, really good. The blurry boys are amazing. The heel turn was obvious. I love to do cuts and tweeted, "I'm so mad I was right," which I loved because that's like the most grounded thing that I've heard anyone say in this whole thing. I don't know what's next for our "Dear Chase You." They survived without Ridge before, will they? Again, I'm not sure, but it was very nice to get to see Andre Chase actually wrestle. Well, I'll tell you what's next. Malzy Rilesborn tries to get revenge for his fallen mates and gets put down hard by Ridge. Sure. Duke Hudson does the same, but gets a lot closer to beating up Ridge before Ridge finally takes a shortcut, hits him with a chair, or something while the ref is back as turned or something. And beats the hell out of Duke. Then Andre Chase comes back from the hospital with a neck injury, but rips off the thing and decides he's going to do it. And Andre Chase is the one who puts down Ridge. It's kind of like as predictable as this heel turn, honestly. Maybe they're in different order, maybe they'll do Duke first, and then Malzy Rilesborn, but I mean, it's basically that idea. I mean, like, kind of more overall, because like, okay, we get through that, which is obvious, and then what, right? Like, Chase You was just back to being Chase You, Ridge is the same old guy, he's a big guy. Yes, yes, they've done this with Chase You in the past, where it's looked like, oh, well, yes, yeah, new color Chase You said. By the way, fantastic use of college funds to go out and print what I'm assuming are several thousand copies of a Champ You t-shirt and sell them, presumably, at this particular event, and have them become immediately obsolete by the end of the first match. Nice job. Well done. When Brian, my work is always fellas, I love it. When Brian Myers and Zach Ryder won, after Brian Myers, like on that 200, whatever, losing streak, it was the same thing, because they dropped them at WrestleMania, and then we're no longer with the company, but it was nice to see Andre Chase actually get to wrestle. That was very, very fun, Ridge was really good in this, and the blurry boys are phenomenal to your point, like, there's nothing left to be won here with them as champions from their side. There's a lot to be won with them working with Hank and Tank, who we see later or whatever, but yes, Andre Chase going out with the Nick and Nick injury after he got put through the table, I think, one of two tables that were in rough condition today, the other one that fell apart before anything happened to it. There was, no, Ridge now does the Ram Page, pages old, elevated, like DDT things, so we did that to Andre Chase. We skipped over. Ridge ends up on the outside, took like a suicide dive or something from somebody, and Andre Chase was left alone, and took a couple of jumpy things up the top rope, ended up getting pinned, and then they all huddled together, and they were all, you know, happy about things. But then, you know, standing around in the middle of the ring after you lost kind of has a shelf life, and so Miles E. Rouseborn and Duke decided to get out and Ridge gave them a helpful shove out of the ring, and then a lariat to Andre Chase, and then through both of the other fellas into some barricades or whatever, and then was going to put Andre Chase through a table, and Little Thea Hale was like, "Dad, no, please, please don't," and he's like, "Get away from me," or whatever, and she started to cry because she couldn't bear to see what was going to happen, and then he did the Ram Page to him, and they put him in an ambulance and took him away, and then they like, "Ridge, Ridge, please tell us why, why, Ridge, why," and then he's just like, "Hmm," and he walks away, like, "This is the kind of thing where, like, the heel turn where the guy is like, "Wow, you have successfully convinced all of us, your peers, and classmates at this fake university, that you are just the best guy," and then you lose a title match that you were, by no means guaranteed to win, and then all of a sudden you're evil, is some of the laziest heel turn stuff possible. You know what I mean? And I just, I wish they had been like, you know, Andre Chase was always the weak link in his own university, or something from, from, from Ridge, but just like just him going, "Hmm," and walks away, I mean, give the guy a motivation he can tell us about, maybe they'll do it on Tuesday, but they probably won't. I think, yeah, we'll probably get something on Tuesday, because it'll probably be the rest of the university questioning him, right? But to your point, when the heel turn is so heavy-handed, there are. I'm sorry about that, Jacob Andrews. Miles Born and Riley Osborn are basically the same name, so I can bind them. At any time either one of them is on screen, I refer to them as Miles E. Riles Born. It can be confusing for new viewers of the show, but I'm not going to change it, so welcome. It's true, yes. We have, we have a lot of, a lot of code names, slide deck names, not as many of recent, but we do have, we've had a long history of silly names, but yes, I agree, the heel turn definitely needs a bigger explanation, and if you're laying it on that thick and everybody is so surprised by the fact that he did this, to then have no explanation is the kind of thing that I would think you would want to do if you are trying to get people to tune in on Tuesday, like why are you going out of the way to feign an interview to not say anything, which is like an unnecessary step. You know, I saying that what if Ridge forms his own big, meaty men rival university, then this storyline basically becomes the plot of the movie Dodgeball, I'm here for it. I just don't know who else is in, unless they heel turn Hank and Tank, which they could, they could, and then meet Norma says, meet you, where do I apply, so that's good. I would say they're doing something a little bit too similar in the women's picture right now with like the newbies and the old gals. Oh, oh yeah. But when has that ever stopped them, like a fair counterpoint, I would say that you want them led by Patches O'Hula and his family, other criticism of that and Vince Vaughn is probably going to get it in there at some point. Yeah. I'm fucking checking. Henry, the case, he's thinking Ridge, exclusive arrest, Logan Paul forever. No, I probably can't, unfortunately. We don't know when that guy's coming back, but yeah, so this was, this was a thing that especially recently, like on the most recent episode, they pretty much laid out in front of you. This is a thing, if they lose, this is definitely happening. So if you pay attention or watch us, because we'll definitely tell you this is going to happen. You weren't surprised by this at all, but we'll see. Agreed. We will see. So a thing happened on Friday, Zach Wentz won the, the X Division Championship. It was not, he didn't pin Mike Bailey. It was their, their ultimate X deal where everybody's got a shimmy on some wires over the ring and get a, it's their fancy, it's their fancy, it's a ladder match to the extreme. It was one of those things, which is fun and cool that he won it. It does feel weird that you had Mike Bailey and Mustafa Ali's undefeated streak just to have him lose the title a month in a month later, but if it's for the overall thing of this storyline, and it's like showing that like TNA and WWE want to play ball together, I guess we'll see where it goes and there's nothing that says Mike Bailey can't get the title back in two months and then have an eight month title reign. You know what I mean? Maybe it's just, they needed this to happen now for this, but when I saw that Wentz had the title, I was like, well, you got to make this match for the title. You got to make, you got to make this match for the title, especially if you're going to have Zach Wentz win, because then there's no reason not to have the title on the line. And this match between Wesley and Zach Wentz was chippy and both guys were talking crap to each other, slap each other in the face, taunting. They were trying to hurt each other, the way this thing should have been contended. But far earlier in the match than I thought was going to happen, I thought this was going to be like a 24 plus minute thing, like I just, I thought that we're going to do that with this. Wesley decides he's going to get disqualified and picks up a chair that he's going to smash into Zach Wentz's head up against the ring post, but who's there but Treg Miguel, who takes the chair from him and they jaw back and forth. And then Wesley gets into the ring and pretty much immediately loses to Zach Wentz's thing. I forget what it's called, but it's a really cool finishing move that he does. And Zach Wentz wins. It only requires one guy, you should be happy about it. Are you kidding me, that's the move they should have been using to win matches as a tag team because it only requires one guy, doesn't make back. Yeah, but with the tag team, there's two guys. So you get the UFO. That's right. The UFO. The UFO. The UFO is very cool. Yeah. I thought this match was fantastic. There was a lot of storytelling, it read to me of anything you can do, I can do better at a lot of having the other one scouted because they're just so damn familiar with each other. And I love where we get to see that brought to life. Wesley, turning heel for this, I have separate schools of thought on that kind of converge of right now the NXT product is so heel heavy that I felt like turning him heel was a bad idea because they need likable baby faces and we'll talk about having with trick. But his interpretation of a heel Wesley is very, very good, very, very good. So absence of the context, I really like what we're seeing out of him, especially for someone. I'm always so impressed with guys of this size and moveset can make being a heel work because I am naturally rooting for you and I naturally, like I'm rooting for your moveset because you can do such cool shit. So when you can get it over as a heel, I'm very, very impressed because that means you're doing things that are vicious enough to offset how much I just am in awe of watching the athleticism of it all. And that I think was accomplished extremely well in this match. My only thing with the title is I've got several only things. I should not say the only thing. I have quite a few only things. To your point, Mustafa Ali held this title for a very long time, was undefeated, put on an incredible match with Mike Bailey to wrap up the conclusion of his time in TNA and hit that title reign. To have it cut short, I don't like for the TNA product, I don't even watch it, but just if that happened to ROH, which I do watch in review, I would find that frustrating creatively. But to your point, the overall bigger picture, we actually saw a TNA title on television for the men and he came out with it, he left with it, I felt like commentary could have talked about it more. That would have been helpful, but why are you not defending it if you're just going to win anyway? And then on top of that, I was like, I get what they're doing because it makes TNA business sense, but this was an extremely personal feud. It doesn't need the title, so you don't need the title defended, which means you don't need Zach once to have it. Now that's not a bad idea for CNA anyways, Zach once is an incredible wrestler, but it just felt like they did all this engineering to get to a place that they didn't really go to anyway in my opinion. I thought if you put it on the line, because to me also, watching this, it feels like they were holding stuff back for a rematch in TNA, so I mean, listen, you've already shown that you don't really care about how long people help hold this particular belt. So if Wentz carries it in here and Wesley goes him into putting the title on the line and Wesley cheats, but ends up winning the match and becomes the champion, then you do the rematch in TNA and have Wentz win it back from him. You know what I mean? Like you could do that or have the titles not on the line, but Wesley wins tonight and he be, cheats to do it and, and Wentz is like, I want to rematch fine. It's like, I want to rematch and it's got to happen on TNA, great, but that title is on the line. And when I win it, I'm never bringing it back. That stays with me in NXT. And then you can have Wentz win it there when the title is on the line. It feels to me like this was definitely always going to be, if you watch this match, it feels definitely like, okay, this is a shorter version of the match we're going to have later. We're going to have other spots that are in this thing. This is the beginning of a longer thing. Don't hate it, don't hate it. And then Ryan Lambert says maybe we see Raskill's taken out and replaced with MCMG. The MCMG, like not having debuted yet thing, creates all kinds of questions. They don't know where they're going, you know, and where they will show up and when. The assumption they would go to NXT too I think might be preemptive unless they were signed to a talent/coaching role which at this stage of their career I think is something that would be on the table. But they might just show up at Wrestling Society X for all we know. They might be Ressalicious's new hot tag team. Ressalicious's? Yes, Ressalicious is new hot tag team. Good. Well done. So, Wendy Chu versus Killani Jordan is a match that took place, is about the kindest thing I can say about this match. I don't know, like the crowd could not have cared less about this. They didn't seem to, they weren't concerned with the well-being of the babyface champion and they were not, they did not seem worried about the hard-hitting offense of the sleep paralysis demon challenger. And I think the problem with that is it's hard to do a title feud with a spooky, healed challenger who's never been explained to us at all as to what she is, why she changed from what she was before, what she's after, like why would this person even want a title, like what is the deal with Wendy Chu at all? They haven't done any of that, so it's kind of hard to like figure out what, is this person supposed to be scary but like why and also how, and also, Killani hasn't done a lot to like make us identify with her, like the character kind of seems fairly non-existent and in this particular match, I was, I was, listen, gymnastics, but also, I don't know, man, it just doesn't feel like there's, she's, either everything is so wrote in her mind that everything has to be done the exact same way and if she gets off, she starts doubting herself and can't improv in the moment or like she just, her heart's not in it, like there was just some stuff going on here, she did one thing and again gymnastics but like she does a handspring into the, into the ropes, like Joe Gacy's old, um, Lariat or Jay Lethal thing, yeah, she did a handspring into the ropes, turned around and walked two steps into a flat liner, yes, yeah, I don't even know what that is, like that, why is, why is the thing happening, it's just a thing that she was told to do and so she did it, like I think Kalani Jordan is an obviously very lovely girl and she, I don't think she's untalented, I just don't think that, some things not clicking, it's not clicking here and I'm, I'm far from the only person who has noticed it if I was, I was looking up and down my timeline. So as far as the live crowd, there's a few things, one, I think to your point, we've never been told why Wendy Chu is the way that she is and I think Wendy Chu I, I think is brilliant and we're going to talk about this with Roxanne and Jada because that's also, I think Jada did, did really well considering that's by far the longest match we've ever seen but there, there's a very big gap between the, the top and the, the middle with this women's division but so much of what Wendy Chu did right are, are these like facial expressions and like all this really up close to them, it's why I actually for the most part unless I'm sitting like ringside for, for watching technical wrestling at home because there's all these details that you, in a live crowd, you're just not going to see Wendy Chu do this with her head like so much of the magic is a little lost on the live crowd here and then with a baby face champ that we're not invested in, you know, she's obviously incredibly athletic and talented in that way, she's obviously a beautiful young lady and she has this magnetism about her that are, that are great but when you are in the ring with a sleep paralysis demon and you are, if that's, if that is, if that is what she's supposed to be, I don't know how she would describe herself honestly when nobody's, nobody's asked her the question, that's what we're assuming, we know, we know this much, some's off kilter about that girl, some, some, some, some ain't right, some, some ain't right but this Wendy came right, yeah, and Kalani, at no, at no point did it feel like she was nervous about her own well-being, at no point did it feel like she was in danger, like the, the story just wasn't, wasn't there from an in-ring perspective and a lot of her selling was not there either unfortunately and when you're in there with someone that is as out of this world, as a Wendy Chew, those things show up so much because it's not like, like with solo Ruka it was like this, a normal woman who's also extremely athletic and a surfer and like we learned all this cool stuff about the adversity that she's been through and all these things, you're in there with like something supernatural-ish going on and just not a single look of panic, like just smiling in there with a, a sleep paralysis demon so it just feels to me like she just has a long way to go on the storytelling side and that as your inaugural championship brain makes that tough because right now there are women who are just ahead of her and I think probably the most interesting thing you could do for someone that's struggling on the character and storytelling side is set up a chase like and you gave her the title so it's, it's not even like the easiest most accessible story is I have a hunger to win that thing, it's the easiest next place I can go as a wrestler I think so to have her just have it I feel like it is a disservice to her for where her progress is at and for what the most natural story for her to be able to tell would be. I was kind of hoping Wendy Chew was going to win tonight kind of hoping Wendy Chew was going to win tonight because I think that also sets up something fun with Tatum which we saw not be a title picture after. Yeah, afterwards Tatum comes out from under the ring and attacks. Wendy and so we know Wendy's got a thing to do but we also have nothing, they didn't have Delta or Steph come out and and announce herself to Kalani so Kalani is just directionless at this point after this match. And waiting for the CW show is my guess but Steph is, Steph is on the same page as a Steph the writer well that's awesome you're writing I'm assuming or you're a liar about your name but do you write about wrestling let us know because I'm intrigued but if they want me to be invested in the Women's North American title someone else needs to be champ that's how it feels to me right now that's how it feels to me right now. Here's here's something that that I was thought of while watching this particular show man it would just be so much cleaner and I think would suit them both so much better if we just reversed Jada and Kalani and their roles in the company like if Jada Parker was your inaugural international North American Women's Champion I like I think that like as a heel still and having baby faces i.e. soul ruka chasing her or you can be a heel who's a straight like I'm gonna kick your ass and all of a sudden some weird friggin lady who might be a demon wants your gold and you've got to react differently to that kind of person than a regular baby face challenger that could be fun to do that but also Kalani has a kind of like baby face quality of like I'm really talented and I'm still figuring this whole the rest of this stuff out but I think I've got a shot to beat Roxanne and Roxanne facing you know an actual tried and drew baby face as opposed to one we're going to force to become a baby face like even though she's so much better as a heel i.e. Jada Parker I feel like that would be a lot better and the little bit says that two times in a row two women who were doing just fine as heels thanks just they were doing just fine as heels one of them you had you had to utilize their own personal story to get us to empathize with her in an emotional way and the other one you had to fake give a kayfabe injury too so she would be not a hundred percent and if she had been she would have beaten Roxanne but we're gonna get to that later like I feel like there are just in the service of um for a lot of it is it's it's developmental before you go to the main roster we got to see you play both heel and face which I guess I have to accept now you know what I mean it's just a thing that they're gonna do but they could do it logically yeah here's the thing tell this story here's here's what we think you might be best as we're gonna have you do that second and then take you from that to the main roster doing what you do best because Jada Parker as this as this new like badass baby face might work but they're probably gonna like take away too much of her badassery and make her too much of like working under from underneath thing they're probably gonna do more of that than they need to to make her a true sympathetic baby face where to me is like on the main roster she's a heel like she's at least working heel like hitting people really really hard unnecessarily hard slapping people in the mouth like that's the kind of thing that she should be and now with this match I just hope that the same way that Lola Weiss was presented to us as this absolute ass kicker and then they put her in a few with with Roxanne and she had this sympathetic true-to-life story wrestled fully baby face in the match with Roxanne lost and two weeks later she's like everybody's best friend in the locker room when she could not have been rooted to all of them a month prior sure and that is something I do not want for Jada Parker she needs to maintain her edge coming out of this match with Roxanne which we'll talk about later I'm jumping the gun but that is a thing that I feel like they are there's this is the greatest women's division in all of wrestling thing just needs to end stop just stop until you are utilizing your talent the way they should be utilized until you are perhaps elevating talents to a position where they are ready for it and people who are not yet can still be working on it maybe I'll put the bar this low for you Alex until you've successfully booked a title right because sure just Roxanne is almost too good that she's getting away with it but you know Alex if you're not slapping unnecessarily hard yeah if you're trying to work from underneath but not like Tony D'Angelo was a man who brings power like it's just this one it's it's really really good it's a minute long he cuts the whole thing right to the camera it like he's way too good at this he's way too good at this or a family is so good or a family yeah there's a lot there's a lot of aura to to oba family um but he's you so good at this and they mentioned it 21 matches 21 televised matches that that's that's crazy we're gonna talk about in a little bit about like rookies um and how good they are but they're still only rookies but 21 matches this is even a rookie that's like that's like a half that's your halfway through your rookie season like that is 21 matches and this is what this guy is insane like and also 21 matches where he's been put in different situations 21 matches where he's been uh against like dragonly and also in a triple threat with diejack and like there's I love that they're testing him in all these different contexts because I feel like they have an all-timer of a guy here and they should not let go of him and he's so great and if they just if they raise him properly to be a nice young man if they raise him the right way he's he is an all-timer talent truly yeah um this was um this match would have been better had not uh Tony rolled his ankle early yeah slower than I thought they wanted it to be but still the fact that he was still doing some of the shit he was doing tony d was with a rolled ankle is nuts but like early on in the match he hit his first um German on on oba and oba's never been ever been manhandled like that even during his match with Briggs and and diejack they were very careful to be like nobody attempts to do stuff you know what i mean he was playing possum those guys were throwing each other around like the the ease with which oh like tony is like flink just this you're you're going here he was tittin belly to bellies on him like he was able to do he did the thing he did the electric chair drop like tony could have ran a marathon with oba febi on his shoulders tony is a really strong dude you like there's there's a thing that i don't know what the ceiling can possibly be for mob guy in 2024 but i don't know what other gimmick i would give him and i don't know if like the character is he's a guy from New York City who's a wrestler i don't know if that necessarily works but in the ring or whatever you're saying the character of him falls away and you're just watching a suplex machine who's incredibly strong who knows exactly where to be can sell uh can command a crowd tony d's really really great at this and i again this entrance from from me was like this feels like a last time an nxt entrance compared to other ones like the gear was so different it was like an on the road like pay per view seven thousand people so maybe that's it but like i don't know exactly page kind of just got like his theme and some cool like like it was i don't know what his what the plans are for him coming out of this but um in ring he's certainly ready to to do whatever you want on the main roster like hell give him the speed title like i don't know it would be fun um but this is about obeville because again 21 matches um and he is selling and uh and he's he's just the way i just loved it like oh crap you threw me a very long way but i shall get up now that was that like my his entire aura is like yes just that like you did this to me and i will get up it's the thing of like where you watch like in a like an avengers movie or something and they'll knock each other through a whole building and be pretty much none the worst for wear there's really really good stuff this and also tony d got as close depending on the family as anybody ever has him taking out of that power bomb i legit like i was like yeah it was incredible stuff the the spine buster i like that they use the spine buster and then tony d could not he did not have what it what it what it was necessary to pin him after that worry about oboe femi losing you know what i mean like once once once we fit i was i could kind of figure out the rhythm of this i was like tony d is going to get some hope spots he's got kick out of a power bomb and he did uh he's going to hit everything he's got on oboe but it's not going to be enough to put him away um and oboe is going to eventually win this but i love that oboe required using like multiple multiple multiple even the sit down variation power bomb the sit out power bomb which she doesn't need to do to almost anybody i love that they protected tony d in that way tony d gave they oboe his toughest one-on-one match i don't think that's arguable um but like both guys it's a we always talk about this the best matches are the ones where both guys come out of it looking really good yes and and honestly i think both guys came out of it looking really good i'm i'm very happy that oboe femi's reign continues he's going to break um west lee's record yep record for longest one ever like it's it's crazy it's it's been like nine months it's wild isn't it it's he's had it since january i've yeah january yeah so like he's he's probably getting a full year with it what do you mean let's say unless they build a certain thing for like halloween havoc or something if you're not calling him up then just keep the damn belt on him he's great everybody loves watching him he's a threat to everybody there's so many cool things you can do with this dude we have not yet seen them do a thing we're like somebody from tna shows up and says you're really good but i think i can beat you like you could do that with somebody there's there is a lot left to mine in the oboe femi thing and i kind of also love that with a guy that size there's no temptation to we got a baby facing for a while see how he does fighting from underneath because you really can't do it with this guy so like they they might turn him brutal like vicious heel because right now he's just a man who knows he is on he is inevitable and a man who knows he's inevitable then doesn't doesn't need to worry about anything but he also welcomes the competition this was really really excellent uh alice so that she's had more matches and that is my new dream match uh i'm pretty sure alie would power about him no problem but uh what you said is exactly my litmus test for the difference between a good match and a great match is was it productive for the winner and for the loser i think i think that's a really good measuring stick and this did feel productive because i think there were a lot of people that saw tony d is the goofball mob guy character right that learned something about him today uh the ankle injury is unfortunate but considering i mean it's impressive how strong tony d is anyway when you throw in that he had that hurt ankle and was still doing a lot of the stuff that he was doing i was i was very genuinely like wow what a what tough dude um i wonder if there is a way this would have to be like god this is gonna sound so like insidery and almost whatever but like if like tony d had like a rob fee or whatever who was like the guy that was brought into work just on bray stuff like could you pivot the mob character to something that feels more like when we were getting those serious vignettes between them and tatos esque bar and his family like could you ground the mob stuff in towards the archetype unless the fedora and the whatever like is there a way to do that because i love the act like i love crucifino and we we stand big and should they rename d Adriana reso but she'll always be big and she'll always be big and she'll look great tonight um but this match was so different than anything that's on the card and so special and to your point about oba like um i wonder if they picked up on the same thing that i feel like we both picked up on pretty early in this and we're like if they just put him on the track that goon there was on and just let him ride the track until they give him a reason to do otherwise just keep him as a champion keep him as this guy who as you said as he said is inevitable and just it's so rare in nxt that we get these more as less situations and so often for me that's what works that's what works for a lot of these guys especially someone like oba he's special and he had to do things that we've never seen him do before which um very impressive to to your point earlier do the sell into the dust off kind of thing because he didn't know sell it it wasn't like somebody went at him and he knows so that he was affected but it's not going to be enough to put him away that is a different type of selling um and he also had to work with someone who was entered in a match before i don't think he's had that he had a match that was stopped to make sure someone didn't have a concussion but he's never had to probably make some changes and maneuver and stuff and he didn't look rattled at all he looked great out there so uh i i loved what we got and i was really impressed considering the the obvious injury in it how great this still was tony d's a strong set of a bitch they they gotta keep keep him looking like this so that we don't think it's a joke um they only have the two belts for the men really in the tag belts i guess um but the the they don't have a roster right now that is brimming with guys that you got to get you got to get a belt on them and see what we're doing with them you know what i mean yeah kind of guys right now and the the the top title feels like it is kind of like open like we like Ethan page doesn't feel like he's gonna hold that title forever like trick Williams is probably getting that back but we've seen trick Williams with titles that he holds him for a month and that's it you know what i mean so you can do a lot of stuff around the top title the nxt title sure and you could i could see them doing a 600 day reign with with uh the final boss of um of Obafemi and maybe it's a thing where uh he finally just decides i want that like he wants the other title to and it's only by him going after that title and being willing to put his own title on the line that kind of hubris that maybe leads to his downfall and he there's a title for title whoever wins gets both and that's when he finally loses and then you move him up like i don't know what you do but like there you can easily do a thing where this guy is just you could build the whole mid-card division around this guy and just my my thing still is that i think Jevon Evans can be built over the course of a year yeah to finally be the guy to beat because no one would believe Jevon Evans would beat him until the first time Jevon Evans comes within a hair's breadth of beating him off of that crazy cutter like you know what i mean like there's some cool stuff you could do with that um but for now there's no reason to to change up pours his admit stream on this guy you know what i mean like he's so great i am glad that in general wwe has shifted from big things can only happen at Wrestlemania um in this case i look at oboe family and i say if you're not going to use him on this Wrestlemania do what you just said and have him hold it for like 600 days and and do it that way and i think this Wrestlemania would feel preemptive but i think him coming to the main roster on an open challenge and winning and holding it forever or like you did with goonther where he just won um there's a he is he is special they cannot they cannot mess this up so i like that idea a lot and i think it is until proven otherwise let him hold it let him hold it because it's the most stable and clear thing that is on NXT as a whole right now and it is working really well um Ryan Lambert says oboe family royal royal appearance like it'd be kind of great if he was the dude who did the ring clearing like came in at like 24 and there's 11 well okay so that's not going to happen it should but it's not going to happen but like he comes in like 24 and there's 11 guys in in the in the thing and he just like taught he does the toss thing yes the top one thing just tossing them out of the ring um and then that's three three absolute top main roster guys all do the running close line over the top rope and then he just stands there like i will get you all next time you know like something like that because he's not pinned you don't you can lose a royal rumble will be protected yeah but like just that moment of like the the main main pay-per-view casual seeing oboe femme for the first time that would be a really cool thing that has to be a moment but we'll say i would have loved to see in 1996 said with oh versus oboe with both no selling each other's power bombs that would have been special that's a that's a fun dream dream match kind of thing yeah um also somebody mentioned it's just in denver and i always forget this like in denver you have NBA teams that go in there and play the nuggets and they're gassed by half yes they cannot do it and these guys are in the best like absolute incredible cardiovascular shape and everything they don't have a stitch of fat on them and they're running around like that all the time but they can't do what they're conditioning oh but is this giant dude and he's not spelt like he's a giant dude he was in there and like yeah they were moving kind of slow but i did not see him gasping for breath no ever that dude's got crazy cardio for a like being able to like keep himself in that position oh Ben rumble takes fells bracelet and eliminates him yes the idea that the bracelet would continue beyond this you'd like drew just gives it to someone else and punk is just chasing the bracelet forever now i'm in on it like there are things you can do that make it so ridiculous i'm in if drew was like here to not set but like a returning madcap moth like that could be good yeah thank you for the support and getting in these super tests we really appreciate it um coming to the home stretch here um they uh people were talking about bronson reed and whenever they're finally done with bronson reed murdering everybody on the on the main roster doing whatever they're gonna do with him whatever the the final thing is with that once he comes back down to earth and can take a loss yes because right now you don't want to do that with bronson reed but if at that point if obofemi is like has been the champion for 500 days and says there is no man big enough to intimidate me and then it comes bronson reed you know what i mean like that could be a really fun little placeholder thing you could do like that it's like a standard deliver type of thing um i feel like def rebel should remix his music and it should just have wade mare going sue not me i'm the front of it yes like if even page is gonna have ego there should be sue not me good idea um rock sand versus um jata jata cuts a little promo walk into the ring they did hurt bignettes for her and rock sand heading into this i love that she says uh i'm not a soccer player that's turned into wwe star i'm a wwe star that used to be a soccer player i was like okay like i i like to that i like a little piece of that yeah good stuff in there she certainly she certainly got all the other stuff that you would need beyond you know she came it it does feel like she might have been a type of person who would have found this in the old way of it like a bianca bellaire sure who was a track star and then they found their way to this some way i don't know how she met mark henry who said maybe you should go for a tryout i feel like jitta parker might have found her way to this before they were like hey anybody who's a college athlete here's a business card come to a tryout like maybe she would have found her way to this otherwise because she's got an incredible knack for it yeah um she's got a lot of as the kids say riz uh and displays such uh on her little walk-and-talk on her way to the ring but i had forgotten that she um she was she had hurt her ribs in the number one contenders gauntlet thing versus solruka who would like they had been a botched little spot and solruka came down with all her weight across from the section and i guess that was the thing that they were using to sell that she had can use the otape on her ribs for this match now i don't think that's a legitimate injury because of it's a legitimate rib injury they usually don't have you wrestle so so um this is all cave eight so there are two things that this does it allows jata parker to play from underneath which is not a thing you should be doing with jata parker because she's jata parker um and it weakens her significantly all the stuff that rock sand is able to do to her she's able to do to her because jata parker has hurt ribs like jata parker doing some of her offense ends up further damaging a ribs uh rock sand recognizes this as a smart heel and then works the ribs the entire match um and then because they mentioned this she's less than a year from her first match jata parker so she's still in her rookie season um and as a rookie she does not know maybe i shouldn't throw myself ribs first at a wall maybe that's a bad idea which then leads to her getting a pop rocks on a fallen barricade them barely both beating the count the count out rolling into the ring standing up and getting another pop rocks to be finished so rock sand from watching this match you could tell that the stuff that jata was doing to her before she started having to sell the injury was throwing bombs at her hitting her hard rock sand had no answer for jata's speed and power so you could surmise from watching this that jata parker at a hundred percent probably would have beaten rock sand perez that is the way they laid the match out so so rock sand perez does not beat survives an injured rookie and to me that looks as weak as she has in a while as the champion it makes jata parker look good too but also serves to me to make rock sand look a little less than right as julia comes in and to me julia comes in at the end at the end after rock sand wins julia comes in there's a lot of again aura to her she comes in she's standing there across from rock sand rock sand holds the belt up she but she's also clutching it very close like you're not gonna take this from me she is posturing when she holds the belt up face to face with with julia because you got to get that shot that that snapshot the face to face oh yeah the character that she is playing is very scared this woman's gonna take the belt from her and you should be scared yes because you can barely beat jata parker who's an injured rookie but to me julia coming in just as rock sand is that her most confident is a much better story than when she is at her weakest but they want this rock sand to be a chicken ship and be literally she will be running from julia until julia gets her title match now that probably is going to be let's be honest in like two weeks yeah but but i mean it doesn't i don't i wanted rock sand to be like i am the best there is and i don't care where you came from i don't care who you've beaten in japan you can't beat me because i'm the best but rock sand might say that but she won't be saying it with her chest because she just barely beat an injured rookie and to me if she had beaten jata parker jata parkers at her full strength throwing everything she's got at rock sand rock sand is the first woman to kick out of the butt to the head whatever they're calling that move like that to me elevates rock sand and let's her say with her chest to julia you can't beat me and then julia does and that to me elevates julia because she just beat rock sand at the top of her game and to me you elevate everybody so the person who winds up on top is even higher than they would have been if you had been slowly peeling layers away from everybody taking their knees out and that's just personally how i feel so we have a lot of chats about this so let's get to those and then i'll give my thoughts but uh kib grays saying excited for julia she's so stunning she she has her background which i i don't remember i think she's like a tallian english and maybe also like a little bit Japanese or she just wrestled in japan i can't remember she's a very distinct look like there's nobody else in wrestling that looks like her and she's striking i think i think the same i think she's strikingly beautiful and also just like one of the most beautifully unique people that i've i've ever seen but america's gonna love her she's gonna do do some really really great stuff um nicholas saying everything was fun but i think that rock sand versus jayla should have been invented with rock sand and julia stared out by the final shot of bazillion person um jay miller st julia's debut still hit great presentation but no walking weapon involvement in the main finish was a bit flat and so the women should have gotten that spot and a lot of people were saying that i i'm i'm one of those people that was also saying that and stuffy who i don't i don't know she's a regular Tuesday or so thanks for for happening on this uh said not having roxy main event when she's consistently been the best wrestler on the roster should be crime at this point even without the julia debut now that's that's a fair argument except i would say if you're not having the julia debut like the joe henry thing whether you like it or not should tip the scales in in that direction i kind of interpreted the match a little bit differently than you did and that i felt like the story that they were going for was um you're you're certainly correct and that she was an injured rookie but there was such a gap looking at the two of them in size and i felt like they wanted roxy and to look like the smart heel because she figured out a way around that and i i kind of bought into that i i bought into the idea that like she was she wasn't a match for julia's speed and strength but she was clever enough that she was able to work around those things and get the win but she was only able to work around them because jayda was injured she's certainly more clever it has way more experienced than jayda but jayda was far too fast far too strong for her until she was injured that's my problem but she injured the match injured yes she injured the yes yeah but no i'm saying she was injured going into the mat she didn't have to be because she's not really injured but you built the whole match around rock sand taking advantage of a kayfabe injury as opposed to causing the injury during the match in a kayfabe way and then taking advantage of it it just feels it feels more sneaky than good wrestler and i'd rather i'd rather rock sand be presented as good wrestler who can be sneaky if she has to but maybe that's the whole thing she had to be sneaky in this match so i'm like if you can to me i'm sorry i'm keep presenting it this way because that's how they presented it oh jayda parkers ribs are hurt so bad she can barely move also did i ever tell you she's she had her first match less than a year ago so you are telling me on commentary this is an injured rookie and to me rock sand wouldn't have won the match if the if the injured rookie had not been injured and that to me he's doubling down on it because we're making money so just good i will i i shall come on i wish tim says disagree Alex Rockley took advantage of the injury i didn't see it as barely winning saw it as the vet outsmarting the rookie that's kind of a better way of raising what i was trying to say but julie is about to raise a generation of wwe women like they hit freight trains yeah like her i guess i had to go back and watch because i i saw certain spots where the ribs were injured but i felt like jayda's performance the injury got worse as it went on and i was like what made your spot tonight i miss and she threw uh jayda into the steel steps like i i think there was stuff that said okay well i'm not gonna beat you that way so i'm gonna beat the hell out of your ribs is is to me is like a a fair story but i i completely get where you're coming from yeah um somebody what it makes what it makes me watch want want to see is jayda parker versus roxy when jayda parker does not enter the match with a giant bullseye on her torso that's what i want to watch injured in the match would have been better injured in the match would have been better at least like if if rock sand was the one that inflicted that pain i think is uh i was actually worried about really his heritage was crazy english born in chinese japanese don't wonder she's like such a uh unique and special look and wrestler but um which is i'm saying rock sand just did what kevin no one wouldn't do to kody it's true that is kind of true it's true that is kind of true um jayda i felt like her performance was got much more comfortable as the match went on uh there were some spots that this that were just rough but i think this is by far the longest match that we've ever seen or have and uh i didn't even think about the fact that you mentioned everybody was sucking wind up there because it was in colorado like i can't even imagine and then just the pressure of you're having this title match that you got thrown into this really big spot so there was some stuff that just felt like a a little bit clunky or some of the selling was a little bit off but um she definitely i felt like warmed up as as the match went on um and this is the first time we've had we've we've had we've gotten to watch her or she has had to fully sell an injury yes an entire match she had a freaking street fight with michin who just had a crazy street fight with the women's world champion on smackdown michin is the street fight gal in all of wwe and they had an incredibly ruthless tough match but during that match she was hit with all kinds of stuff and was injured for a moment but then did not be like oh my ribs for 10 straight minutes yeah so i would have much rather watched that jayda versus rock sand then then this jayda i feel like i was cheated out of watching the real jayda parker have a match with rock sand and to me if you have available to you the real jayda parker that just used the real jayda parker not the one who's got to fake out my ribs for 10 minutes that's all and if if you needed that story it's more impactful if rock sand was the one to do it like yeah it rocks in had as a heel said i'm not strong enough and i'm not fast enough for her but if i can if i can trick her into injuring herself yes yeah you know what i mean yeah i can do something with that i got that riza she said i thought the injury spots were to show that she was more than a college athlete she was game and top i'll say this i think it worked for showcasing jayda but i understand your criticism for what it did to rock sand when you're about to have julia come out i i guess i'm kind of tired of the whole angle of college athletes you're not a college athlete anymore you're you're wrestler now i mean it it it it shouldn't be about like well she she used to be a college athlete so let's see if she's really tough enough no screw that she's been here for a year she this is what she wants to do let's not treat her with kid gloves or at least build the match around showing her that showing us the audience that she doesn't need to be treated like no i don't i am fully bought in to jayda parker at this point there are some women carly bright who i'm not fully bought into as no longer the college athlete type sure you know what i mean like jayda parker at this point like i don't know five months ago i was like she's no longer one of the nyl signings she's a wrestler now for example let's really debut her as a wrestler you know we didn't even know that it was soccer until last week which is indicative because like azidea you might know played volleyball right like like things like that where that's what they're leading with where jayda has a ton of charisma i also i'm curious like is out the mud just out the door like they she doesn't seem to be with them but she kind of is like they here's the other thing it's so we're the hankin tank now here's the freaking thing i'll bet that we're gonna do hankin tank are in this um uh triple threat number one contenders match for the tag titles yes they had a vignette earlier but they just had a they they just had a face-to-face on the most recent episode of nxt where they were uh shit talking back and forth with otm and otm who says oh my god they were we're gonna come and face you guys we're gonna come and fight you guys but they just skipped that step and went straight to hankin tank are in the the triple threat number one competitors match which to me says otm is costing them the match let's figure out a way for everybody's rivals can cost them the match because that's what we want to see mostly mostly interferences we we would like mostly interferences it's that playbook that they just they run the same six plays unfortunately but but i'm happy for jayda parker being in the spot and i will say from what we saw Roxanne doing i'm just i'm continually blown away by the fact that she's this good and that she's 22 years old like it it just um yep and like i wanted her as a face and i still kind of do but like she knows how to be a heel in the ring like she she really uh has figured out every little detail that you need to have to make a great wrestler i'm i'm continually blown away by her abilities and her especially her ring psychology at 22 years old it's ridiculous ridiculous and julia is here very exciting it's incredibly exciting um i listen julia is not losing her debut match if if she if the debut match is for Roxanne versus for the for the women's title sure that she's going to win that but to me i would much rather you present Roxanne going into that match as a woman at the top of her game who cannot be beaten i don't care who you throw at me and and so at least even though my actual logical brain knows that julia is not losing that match sure you you can you can tell the story effectively that Roxanne is pretty much unbeatable at this point she looks as strong as she ever has and so maybe julia can't beat her even though i know when i step back and look at it that julia is going to win at least tell the story effectively of two women julia the brand new recruit coming from japan that everyone is so excited about but Roxanne perez is one of the greatest women's wrestlers at her age we've ever seen this is going to be a clash of the titans and i feel like you can actually do that in a way that makes makes guy's stuff to for me to like look at him and be like well now i'm really into this guy because there's just not he he is a like i want to people call him like a big man he's not he's he's an above average sized fella sure he's not he's not like i i he doesn't see he's he's the same size as ethan page who i wouldn't call a big man so like they're they're perfectly they're certainly six foot three whatever 240 pounds and he wrestles with some big moves or whatever but i'm watching a guy who's uh like he's a slightly above average sized professional wrestler in this country and so i'm not like taken in by like his speed or his crazy power or anything so a lot of those guys have got to like wow me with other stuff there were a couple moves i saw tonight that i was like that's a really best impressive for a dude his size or whatever but i'm watching this going like i need to like have a whole knowledge of all the stuff where he's come from for me to get into how important it is for this match and all this kind of stuff and i'm watching ethan page and i'm i'm watching him have this match and it's a fine match there's there's nothing wrong with the match but i wasn't pulled into it and a lot of why that was is because i was waiting for any of the six or seven like pathways for shenanigans to get into the match in some way trick Williams like says he'll call the match down the middle and somehow he did but he says he would they special guest referee's never really call the match down the middle they may start out doing that but then one of the guys in they pick up one of the gut one of the yes when they pick up a bracelet and all of a sudden one of the guys goes crazy and we have to have a so um but you but one of the guys in the match will provoke them and then they'll have to do a finisher to that guy or whatever it's like it's those things always happen yes so i'm waiting for that to happen also we know for a fact that he has a vested interest in the challenger beating the champion because the challenger told him if i win this match you get the first title shot and the champion told him you're never getting another shot at this belt so of course he wants the challenger to become the champion so he'll get another title shot so that all that comes together plus there's another dude completely separate from all of this who is feuding with the special guest referee in a different program who has said you're not even going to make it to tuesday when we have our scheduled match so you anticipate that dude's coming and gonna get involved during the match happening plus the challenger is from a different show for a different company and on that different show for that different company he has all kinds of enemies who could easily show up here and get involved so i'm watching the whole time just waiting for shenanigans to get one of those enemies who is ethan page's former tag team partner by the way which even more makes it kind of a thing so i'm watching it thinking we're going to get shenanigans at any minute and the most shenanigans that we get is trip williams calling it down the middle that in fact call because he gets a choke slam and he lands near the ropes and he doesn't even put his foot on the ropes his foot is under the ropes and we have recently seen referees who are not at all if a party shenanigans just disregarding people's feet under ropes so easily he could have called the match for joe henry sure but he didn't and joe henry is like hey what's up with that and then ethan page gets up he basically said let's basically what up with that what up with that and then uh he shoves um he shoves uh joe henry into into trick williams and they conch noggins they do it's a noggin and and then uh trick williams rolls out of the ring and immediately uh ethan page takes advantage of said noggin conking and he gets him up for a choke slam how dastardly the joe henry's move and he puts him down and before he even lays down on top of joe henry for the pin another referee has sprinted to the ring now i thought i'm sorry hold on eva eva you told me that the reason we had to have trick williams as a special guest referee is because no other referee would even come near ethan page you know what i mean like and if there's a guy on on standby duty that close that he can get there that fast and i feel like the whole reason for the special guest referee is now gone up and smoke poof poof i say to you eva and your reasons for a special guest referee uh i also feel like you should get fired if you're unwilling to officiate a championship match and you're a referee that's just me that feels bad um as our wonderful crestsa who's on this channel uh says if you chanae in once you can chanae again and uh we didn't chanae in once and this really and we certainly didn't chanae in again with the logo i was the biggest chanae and we got in this whole thing that was the other thing is there was this that that ref ended up getting slapped in the face um oh here's oh so he so he does another move to him he throws him does the thing he uh he tosses him he hits the disease rhetoric based today on him he does some big move to to joe henry and the referee is going to call the match one two three for ethan page but trick slides back into the ring and stops the second ref who is the legal ref at this point from calling the one two three and then he's like no don't you see this unbuttoned shirt where my abs should be don't you see that the like the unbuttoned shirt here it says that i am the referee and you are not i take precedent my unbuttoned referee shirt takes precedent over your referee polo you must not be here and then ethan page decides he's going to smack uh he trick williams and ends up smacking the referee instead and when trick williams is checking on that referee he he low blows eth he low blows joe henry then he hits the razor's edge and then he pins him and trick williams stopped ethan page from pinning joe henry so that 20 seconds later ethan page could pin joe henry yes he she named he didn't even really shin and the first time he there was there was a uh i'm gonna say diving diving into the ring to prevent the backup ref from making the same call that you yourself end up making 20 seconds later that is a shin and i'm not sure if he shin and again but it's yeah yeah yeah um man oh the DDT on the belt thank you the DDT on the belt that's what it was yes yes uh there was some really good in ringing this like i was it made me be like see ethan page shouldn't be the most though because look he's real good and i thought joe henry to your point this was the most we got to see out of him bring wise this was a yeah a much better match um same with our opener it was just like had time to develop it was was really really good um i don't know what's worse because this was way cleaner which is what i thought i wanted but when you set up so many shinans and they barely shin and that's almost worse because i i felt like i was watching this sitting and waiting for all of those spots to come and then they never did so but i wasn't really focused on the match because i kept waiting for that thing to happen um i just have we had like a normal ethan page defense yet or a manta was i guess clean right clean sure but it was oromenza who he's a mid-carder who got a title match because he kept attacking ethan page and ethan page was actively scared of it and also here's the other thing there were supposed to be a bunch of shenanigans in that match because they booked it as though that guy keeps trying to pin ethan page and everyone keeps counting out a fake pin as a real pin but that they had the match and he never went for a single roll-up to try and catch him off guard and get the pin yeah so like the story they felt wasn't congruent for the story of the match listen this this title belt has not been booked well since ilea dragon i've lost it back in april we need to do an exorcism for halloween havoc we should we should we're gonna we're gonna have to do that we're gonna have to do that um but my thing is i said it before with oba femi i feel like too a lesser extent and in a different way it's true with ethan page that less is more like he wanted viet oopsidase he defended it once viet oopsidase he had a clean match with aura that didn't really fit the story that had gotten built and then we have like special guest referee and a low blow and weird stuff going on with the backup referee and p done is clearly waiting for trick william so like i just would love for an ethan page story that just feels like story with this guy built out clean title defense like i i for me as an as a big ethan page fan that is like real house for ethan page is where because he's so good at storytelling and ring like his facial expressions and the the way that he matches get put together with him like if they can just let the focus be on him and the story and not the all these other moving parts the tna crossover the special guest referee the the relationship with trick like oh there it just gets so this happens a lot in in my opinion on nxt it's very crowded like it just gets too crowded convoluted is the word that i yes yes it's it's just there's just so much stuff surrounding it which is why i'm like that's cool you guys can do all your weird stuff for the top title because it's not really the top title because the top champion is obofemi who will rule for three thousand days the demi levato means like get a job stay away from her yes yeah there you go um all yes this is the thing shot kid saying ethan gave joe a ddt onto the nxt title belt in front of the second referee which is not illegal i don't know why it's not it should be if you hit a dude in the forehead while he's standing up with the title belt that's his qualification if you put the title belt down and purposely ddt his forehead onto the title belt as it's laying there that's considered part of the ring and therefore not well not a not a disquality not your day apron because the hardest part of the ring just became a title belt that's right there you go yeah so many plus who we haven't seen around here in a while we were we were so free of the tormenting we were says the show is so bad i'd rather watch a red face paint pep mac if he talked with erin roger's about get off the internet bombs well no because unfortunately we don't get paid to not talk about wrestling if we just got paid to DM each other stuff that would be awesome that would be awesome that's not like a very profitable business model for i'm told um yeah this this definitely i watched this and i was waiting for the big spot i was waiting for joe shall exander to come out but we just get pep done attacking trick williams a kind of but that's after the match yeah that's after everything like wouldn't like if you're going to do a thing where trick williams is out of the ring wouldn't it be like that's the other thing they they they had to do a thing i'm so i'm sorry that i feel like it this is a lot cleaner in a way but just have pep done pole trick williams out of the ring is trick williams is counting a pinfall for joe andry yeah and he gets the bitter end to trick on the outside and just stands there and then you have to send a ref down and then you have to send a ref down because trip williams is knocked out cold and then ethan page does his shenanigans maybe the ref comes in there and pep done what are you doing here get out of here with his back turned low blow egos edge pinham and the referee who's not the special guest referee calls the thing in favor of ethan page because he didn't see the low blow he wasn't a part of anything and then you have a reason for like like joe henry to be pissed at pep done and ethan page would be like hey pep done you and i are cool right like there's there's a lot more
