Discover the profound simplicity of prayer through Micah 7:7, where three powerful phrases remind us to look to the Lord, wait for His timing, and trust that He always hears us.

(upbeat music) Micah was a prophet who wrote a book in the Old Testament of the Bible that in one single verse gives us three beautiful thoughts about prayer. The verse is Micah seven, seven. The first phrase of that verse says, "Therefore, I will look unto the Lord. "Work problems, family responsibilities, "busy schedules, and the worries of this life "tend to take our attention off the Lord "who cares for us so deeply. "We forget that we can come to Him in prayer "at absolutely any time. "Therefore, I will look unto the Lord." The second phrase of Micah seven, seven says, "I will wait for the God of my salvation. "I don't know about you, "but I find that waiting for God to answer "is one of the hardest parts about prayer. "We will even try to answer our own prayers "rather than to wait for God's timing. "Yet peace comes when we resolve "that no matter how long it takes, "we will wait for His answer." The third phrase in Micah's verse is one of confirmation, "My God will hear me." Your prayer is not merely words that bounce off the ceiling. God really listens. The writer of Psalm 18 shares with us his experience. He says, "But in my distress, I cried out to the Lord. "Yes, I prayed to my God for help. "He heard me from His sanctuary. "My cry to Him reached His ears. "Yes, your God will hear you." Let's put those three phrases of Micah seven, seven together now. Therefore, I will look to the Lord. I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me. Take that verse without you throughout your day today.
