The Monday show. Let's go! Come on, people! Rico! Let's do this. On Kiss 108. Yeah, let's do this. Let's start a whole new week right here on the Billy and Lisa Morning Show. And for starters, Lisa Donovan, it's going to be a beautiful week. It really is. No complaints here. Lots of sunshine. Tense, you're going to get into the 80s by the end of the week. It'll feel like summer. When was the last time anyone looked at the forecast and it said, "Sunny, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday?" Yeah. Perfect days. No rain in the forecast. No rain. 10 days. Anyway, there's that, okay? And how about still no winner in the Sabrina Secret sound? Are you kidding me? The Friday afternoon guest espresso machine? There's a lot of frustration. Oh, my God. The secret sound is crazy. I am getting so frustrated with these guesses for the secret sound because I am 100% certain. I know what it is and you guys even try to give us a hint by playing the song right before the secret sound and people are still guessing the chainsaw and the espresso maker and it's driving me crazy. It's driving us crazy, too. Yeah. Go ahead. If you go to the Kiss Instagram, they posted a little bit of a how-to, a literal step by step. Like, you know, go to the website, look at the previous guesses, listen to these songs, you'll find the answer. A tutorial right there to look at. Yeah, I was at a family party yesterday and they were hounding me about it. This is unbelievable. What's the sound? Come on. I can't tell them obviously, but even they're playing. Wow. So we will play again at 7-10 this morning and so help me. If somebody guesses a chainsaw or an espresso maker, I'll snap. Just go on the Kiss website, look up all the other guesses. Yeah. You can do this before you call. 7-10 Sabrina Secret Sound. Do your homework between now and 7-10. I want to mention there wasn't a winner in the Mega Millions either, so tomorrow it's up to 800 million. Wow. Okay. It's another opportunity. Yeah. I'm all in. I'm on the island and you guys are all going to have to live on the same island as me. Whoa. I'll go on the island, Bill. Because I'll build you a house. Thank you. Thank you. Are we doing the split thing or no? Is that over? Are we all buying tickets and then if one of us is going to be? Oh, no, no, we can't do that anymore. Okay. Well, I'll just agree that if you don't win, you won't buy the ticket. I've bought it multiple times when we've done that split first of all. Second of all, I think it should be, if one of us wins, we just take care of the other people. That should be it. That should be it. One of the other people and how long is this list? What do you mean? Like the. I want to know how much you're going to take care of me versus how much I would take care of you. I'll take care of the boat. I'll take care of the boat. You're fine. Yeah. But I'll take that off your plate, but I'm just going to, there's nothing to take off the plate. I want to know what you're going to do for me. What do you want? Okay. I want millions. Okay. We'll break the floor about the five of us will get all, I'll get taken care of. Yeah. That's it. Just around me. All you have to do is buy one ticket. Yeah. Okay. One ticket. It's $2 a ticket. Is that what it is? Yeah. Mm hmm. Because they ain't like us. Oh my god. It's. All right, Bill. Okay, Kendra. I know I sit next to 10 people. I'm not like us. Lisa since five o'clock this morning. Yeah. Obviously, Kendrick Lamar is that super? We'll have time. Yeah. That was announced yesterday. We'll talk about that at 640. He's excited. Yeah. So seven, ten, we've got the secret sound. Okay. Be ready. Eight, ten this morning. Moa is all over town today. Are you going to see him? I'm supposed to do something with him this afternoon. Give him who I? Yeah. You're going to meet him? Uh huh. It looks that way. But he's going to be at several different places and one of the places tonight is going to play with his band. And we'll give you the lineup. I'll tell you where he's going to be and when coming up at eight ten this morning. Don't forget we've got the mentalist guy coming in. This is going to be awkward. Yeah. I came in on Friday and he wrote down his prediction, the score of the Bangles Patriots game. I have it. It's sealed. And he's coming back this morning and we're going to open it and see if he was right. Yeah. He has not been near that envelope and by the way, do not let him near the envelope. No, I'm not. I've been getting reports that maybe one of the possible tricks is he'll try to swap the envelope, but he's he can't. I have it. No, there will be no sleight of hand this morning. He asked for this. So. Oh, we will embarrass him. He'll never work again in this town. Okay. We'd like for him to come in first and then we can end his career. We don't even have the envelope. I don't eat them. Open the envelope right now. No, he'll come in. He's a nice guy. I'm rooting for him. Oh, I'm not. But you guys, imagine if he's right. Oh my God, it would be amazing. I mean, I haven't been every week. Right. But we never do other things. Well, I haven't talked about tomorrow night's drawing for starters. It was a weird score. I know. 16 is upset. I know. But it was a very weird score, too. Something else we want to talk about at some point this morning is the perfect couple. Lisa had this in her book club, right, Lisa? I did. Well, I had Ellen Hildebrand at my book club and she wrote the book, The Perfect Couple, and then they made this series for Netflix. I binged the whole series this weekend. It's one of the best series I've ever seen. Me too. Can you not talk anymore, Bill? Lisa, he already ruined it for Pisa Riley. He already ruined it. You told her the ending? Yeah. I didn't mean to. I said, how about so and so was the killer? Yeah. Yeah. It's unbelievable. I didn't even know who died. Yeah. I didn't even know. Yeah. I didn't even start it. Yeah. Really good show. Yeah. Really good show. Anyway, entertainment is coming up next. And yeah, the Patriots won the opener over the Bengals. That was good. Tom Brady made his debut. We're going to hear from him coming up in the entertainment report. And yes, Kendrick Lamar will be the halftime show. By the way, Jaycean Beyonce, we're on Nantucket this weekend. We've got all that coming up next in entertainment standby. From the Planet Fitness Kids 108 Studios. We're back with Billy and Lisa in the morning on hit 108. And welcome back everybody and a happy Monday to you. We've got entertainment standing by and ready to go. Justin, let's get a couple of the talkbacks in first. Yeah. What'd you do this weekend? Do anything fun? Hit us up on the talkback mic. You can be a part of the Billy and Lisa's show. Get your voice heard on the radio. You do it via the iHeartRadio app. You listen live. You tap the red microphone and boom, you're in. Hey morning crew. This is Diane from Salem. I on Saturday got to meet Lisa. I brought my dog Spencer, my corgi. And he absolutely loved Lisa. Every time I brought up Lisa's name after we left, his ears would perk up. He was going to see her. Thank Lisa for being so nice to us and for taking care of him while I went in and got us some ice cream. You're the best. Thanks so much. Wow. There he is. I'm big with corgis. Yeah. You know, it's funny my ears perk up every time I hear it. Every time we see her. There we go. That's pretty cool. She was very nice. Oh, that's great. Yeah. She drove all the way from Salem. All right. Yeah. All right. Come on. Oh, man, so the Patriots who knew open the season with a win 16 10 over the Bengals in Cincinnati. First time in 24 years, Bill Belichick was not on the sideline said Jacobi Percette. A good start for him, coach Mayo. Big win for him. I'm going to enjoy this one here for the next couple hours, but truth be told, you know, it's whatever you've done for me, lately, type of business. So time to turn the page, you know, not trying to rain or anything once parade, but turn the page and get ready for the next game. There you go. I'm liking him. I'm liking him. Yeah. I couldn't believe it. I was so pumped watching the game. Yes. I thought they were going to get crushed. Everyone did. It seems like a feel good environment on the sidelines. You know what I mean? Everybody's getting along. Everybody's happy. Everybody's high five and fist bumping and everything. I'm liking it. They open with a win. That's good. You would have thought they won the Super Bowl after that game. They would dance in jumping anyway. The Pats have their first home game this Sunday again. It'll be a one o'clock start. It'll be the Pats and the Seahawks Seahawks, by the way, beat the Broncos yesterday, 26-20. And the Cowboys beat the Browns yesterday, Tom Brady, making his debut in the broadcast booth. What a catch and what a throw. That's tight coverage on Ward. We love talking about that matchup all week. It's going to be like with CD Lam and Denzel Ward and that was tight coverage and as Dan Marino used to say, you can't guard a perfect throw. Yeah. I thought he was good. I know he took some heat on social people complaining about what he was wearing. He's awkward. I'm sorry. I thought he was good. It's a lot of controversy. A lot of people are saying, yeah, things like they didn't like the way he was dressed, that he was calling players by their first name that he was boring. By the way, I don't agree with all that. By the way, the people that didn't like the way he was dressed, what do you think they were wearing during the game? I thought he looked handsome. I thought the game was kind of a dud. So another complaint. I mean, it wasn't exciting. Yeah, yeah. Was they called they say that he had a nervous tick and that was kept grunting throughout the entire game. I didn't really hear that, but it really does that weird thing to them. Well, I just thought it was good. I thought he was good. I thought he was good. He started slow. Yeah. I got to tell you the first five minutes or so. I was like, well, the awkward fist bump thing kind of like hit me hard, but imagine being him, he's got to step into this role, something he's never done in his life. I'm telling you, as the season unfolds, you're going to see him get looser. I mean, he's got so much football knowledge. I agree. And I think also it's all the people outside of New England that hate the Patriots. Yeah. Tom Brady. Yeah. It's those people. Anyway, Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott, signing a $240 million extension this week. You know what? Do nothing. Good, to not win anything, to not get into the playoffs, just to be mediocre. Yeah. Wow. And that's better than a pension. That is better than pension. I'll take it. 240 million. Oh boy. Dolphin's one yesterday. How about Tyreek Hill arrested on his way to the game, literally a block from the stadium. They handcuffed the guy. Anyway, he talked about it after the obviously, you know, everybody has bad apples in every situation. You know, so I want to be able to, you know, use this platform, you know, to figure out to figure out a way to like flip this and, you know, make it a positive. Yeah. Imagine you're on the way to the game to tailgate outside the stadium or near the stadium and then you see your star player on the ground and handcuffs. On the ground. Yeah. That guy was put on administrative leave. Yeah. Officer. That's too right, and Tyreek's got to touch down in his end zone celebration was him and handcuffs. Yeah, that was good. He is petty like that. He's down like that. Meantime, Aaron Rodgers makes his season debut with the Jets tonight, Jets and 49ers, the Monday night football game. Rodgers talking about the injury that sidelined him last season. I knew when I was on the ground that something was wrong and sometimes you get drilled and you know, something's off and you just kind of hope you get up and it kind of like shakes itself out sometimes. You know, you're like, "Oh, okay. Well, that's just a sprained MCL or an ankle that's, you know, you got to walk off." But when I stood up, I said, "I knew it," you know, and then I just went down and he just everything flashed him for your eyes, you know, the 18 years of Green Bay, the tree, the spring, this excitement, the summer, the city. This is a weird dude. But I like him, you know. He said some crazy stuff. He said some crazy stuff. He said some crazy stuff. Great player. Yeah. Just announced Kendrick Lamar will be the Super Bowl halftime show. Good deal, everybody. I named Kendrick Lamar and I'll be performing that Super Bowl 59 where you be pulling up. I hope so. You know, it's only one opportunity to win a championship. No round tools. Let's get it. You got it. Let's get it. Yeah. Now there's some controversy with this announcement, Justin. It's quite shocking. And, you know, who had a bad day yesterday? That would be Drake. Yeah. So obviously, Kendrick Lamar and Drake have been in a highly publicized feud this entire year, which, you know, ended in Kendrick Lamar dropping one of the greatest diss songs of all time. I mean, one of the songs of summer, not like, "Oh, yeah." And so imagine Kendrick Lamar is going to be on the world's biggest stage and he's got to sing the diss song to Drake. Imagine if you're Drake. Well, what if he brings Drake out? If they make up? Oh. I don't know. That would be cool. The song has one of the greatest diss lines of all time that, like, everybody yells out. White's running like a bitch, ain't you tired? Trying to strike a chord and it's probably a minor. Trying to strike a chord and it's probably a minor, obviously, he's insinuating that Drake's a pedophile. Right. So, yeah, Drake didn't have a good day yesterday. Yikes. A little Wayne was pissed too. So that's the other part of the controversy. Little Wayne is from New Orleans and he's spoken out wanting to do the Super Bowl and Little Wayne's with Drake, obviously, so there's all this controversy. I don't think you'll see Drake on the stage. I don't know why... It would be huge if it happened, but I don't think it'll happen. But I think, like, Little Wayne, like, that's crazy. He's from there. It's happening in New Orleans and they didn't put him on. Yeah, that's the little slap of the face. You know, it would be cool if he did the song and then Drake came out. That's what I'm saying. Yeah, that's what I think might happen. But did she say that Drake kind of was laughing about the fact that Kendrick did this and then... I mean, he put him in the corner. Right. 'Cause they were going back and forth. Right. And then this was the final blow. Mm-hmm. So we'll see what happens. What's my favorite line in that song? They not like us. They're not like us. He's been singing it all day. I'm not going to play it again because you're going to keep singing it. About Jay-Z and Beyonce in Nantucket for Beyonce's former personal assistants wedding, I'm guessing someone threw the bouquet. ♪ I want a single leg ♪ ♪ I want a single leg ♪ ♪ I want a single leg ♪ ♪ I want a single leg ♪ ♪ I want a single leg ♪ ♪ I want a single leg ♪ That's going to be quite a win. And I looked into who Sam is, Greenberg, 'cause I was like, "I know this name." Remember the iconic Louis Boston clothing store that was on Newberry and then moved to the seaport? Yeah. Well, her mother is Debbie Greenberg, the fashionista, like from years ago. And that's Sam's mother, so there was a connection to Boston there. Oh, wow. Wow. We love Nantucket. Oh, Linda, it's Lisa. I'm going to be quick. I have a 4 p.m. Ferry to Nantucket. And I'm already late as all hell. I had a snafu at the pet resort. I said, "Briana, let me stop you right there." Okay? Stop you right there. I've been coming here for 30 years. And I uploaded the paperwork into the portal myself. I have a 6 o'clock reservation at Gally Beach, and I'll die if I'm late. Ha ha! I knew Lisa files dropped yesterday. Oh yeah? I was so excited. I know resurrection happened over the weekend. Oh boy, Selena Gomez is officially a billionaire, 1.3 billion, most of it from the makeup and cosmetics. No, good for her. And Sabrina Carpenter's album, number one, for a second straight week, she talks about some of the posters she had on her bedroom wall. It's funny. All the posters on my wall were women. All my girl crushes were Miley, Cyrus, Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande. I think I was at that time, I had Tiger Beat, and I really was just making use of the posters. So I would put those all over my wall. By the way. My God, Tiger Beat. I had so many posters from there. Jonas Brothers. Yeah. Oh my God. By the way, 7-10. Mark it down. 7-10 this morning, we'll play the Secret Sound, the Sabrina Secret Sound. Beetlejuice crushing the box office, as expected this weekend, taking in 110 million. McCauley Calkin is going out on tour where he'll talk about the Home Alone movie. He's in Medford, December 15th at the Chevalier Theatre, apparently he'll screen the movie and then take questions from the crowd. This is just amazing. I'm trying to get him on the show. Yeah. I haven't confirmed yet, but they said there is a possibility he might come on our show. Mm-hmm. Yeah. This is great. Home Alone. Christmas movie of all time. Yeah. Well, it is visually one of the top three, I think, of all time. Yeah. Jason Momoa is in Boston all day today. It's several different locations. We'll talk about that right after eight o'clock this morning. We'll tell you where he's going to be. Anyone else besides me watch the Karen Reid 2020 special. Okay. I did. I thought. Okay. It was everything we knew. Yeah. It was more for you that weren't from here. It was. Again, I don't know. I don't think it did. I don't think it helped her. Actually, I will say that I feel bad, but I actually got a little bit more of an idea of who John O'Keefe was, because the whole time you have an idea, but it's been mostly focused on that. Yeah. So it was a nice little tribute to him to really hear certain things about him you didn't know. Yeah. Like some of his friends. It was, really. Yeah. His cousins that have been in the courtroom. Yeah. Now we know who they were. Yeah. I mean, like, you know, his friends and whatever. But the Karen Reid part, I think they used mostly her old interview. Oh, yeah. It was an old interview. She used a little bit of the one before, which is talking about how she needs to dress to impress her mother. And I don't know. I just didn't like them showing her like curling her hair. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I just. But you know, I found interesting. She can't drive. I didn't know that. I didn't know that. That's why she was that's why she claims she was staying at the prom name because next to each other. So they could like talk and stuff. And by the way, I found out from an inside source, she never stayed at the army. Well, I didn't look like it because it had a like a kitchen. So we did your thing hung out there. Oh, she's never like a much more affordable. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, hey, the weekend was in Brazil over the weekend. Justin, he played a release the new song at the concert. Well, he previewed several new songs. His new album is coming out in the release date yet. But this, I mean, this thing was, even if you're not a weekend fan, the production on the show was insane. And yeah, he did a bunch of the new songs. He sounded all right, it's a clip of one. I know. I know what you're going to say. It sounds like all the other. Yeah. And you're right. They all sound alike. Are you going to have sex to this one? Mr. I only have sex to the weekend. That's a great. It's a Monday morning. You know? Oh my God. That's the best love making music in the world. I'm like, what? Who has sex to the weekend? Yeah. Hey, Justin, when's Post Malone coming? Who has sex until the weekend? Only you, Justin. No one's having sex to that song. No, see, but you know, I say this every time. It's the early weekends up before he became a commercial. It's the goal. Listen to early weekend. Are you defending yourself? Of course I am. The weekend that you hear now is not the weekend that I fell in love with. It's pretty the idol. It's different. Yeah. The idol. No, no, his first album is very sexual, but I mean, it's saying his mainstream stuff. No one's having sex to that. Correct. I know that. Hey, Justin. You know, it's the last Malone show coming. Oh, don't do this. It's the 18th. Yeah. Why? It's next week. I was having a private conversation with producer Riley. What's going on next week? It's Bill. It's Bill. It's explaining everything. Explain. You can't just say that. I mean, it's very inside. It's very inside. Well, his wife Jen is a huge fan of Post Malone. Yep. And she's going, right? And she's going, right? The preparation for the show is a little unusual. Yes. She has Pit Pass as her and her best friend. That's great. And they're going to go nice and early to try to get right up close because because Post, he stays after the show and he signs everything. Right. And her best friend wants to get a tattoo of his autograph on her body, whatever. Okay. So the issue was that if they go and get up close, which they probably will, then you can't leave to go to the bathroom. So she said, what are we going to do if we have to go? Oh, diaper. So I said, I jokingly said, well, maybe you could wear a diaper and she goes, no. And they're both nurses. So she was like, what if I. The catheter herself, what is I? Well, she isn't her catheter. Maybe they'll catheterize. Maybe they'll catheterize themselves. Yeah. Oh, God. So they don't have to leave to go to the bathroom. That's actually a little psychopath. That's like drastic. Yeah. Yeah. That's desperate times call for desperate measures. But why are they just not drink anything? That's what I said. But one of them just stay there with the other one goes pee and then you take turns. What elbow their way back in? Yeah. Be like, this is my spot, bitch. This is apparently a tough one for a lot of people, but we're going to play again. Now, Lisa, how's it all work? All right. Okay. So you are listening for the sound. The sound is inspired by the lyrics from a Sabrina Carpenter song that we play on Kiss 108, one of her heads. So look at the lyrics, and then you can hopefully tell what the sound is. You have to give us the name and the sound, and then you have to tell us what song it came from. And we're doing everything we can to help people out. I mean, if you go to the Kiss One of an Instagram or the website, there's a complete list of how to study for it, how to be ready for it, where to go, what to do. We can't do any more for you. But what we will do right now is play the secret sound. Listen carefully. Okay. One more time, the Sabrina's Secret Sound, here it is. Again, you will need the sound and you will need the song, the Sabrina song, that inspired that sound, and we need caller 25 at 617-931-1108. I have a good feeling this time. Just please. If you're calling and you think you know the answer, the sound and the song, just make sure you go double check the website, and we'll make sure it hasn't been guessed. Because on Friday, the last time we played at 310 with the V bros, it happened again. What is the Sabrina's Secret Sound? Oh, it's an espresso machine, no? Oh, man. It couldn't be more of a no. It's not an espresso machine. And it never will be. No. We actually, our first sound was. Right. It was. It was. But we've moved past that. Yeah. Sound three now. All right. Oh, it's an espresso machine. No. No. No. No. The V bros had to, well, Mikey and Gianna had to make a video on Friday after that happened, being like, listen, it was a whole walkthrough on what to do. Go to the website, literally step by step on what to do. Again, we want you to win the tickets. We absolutely do. Oh, my God. A coffee grinder and a chainsaw multiple times. It doesn't sound like either of those things. What's wrong with you people? I want my tickets for the concert. Please don't try to be called a 25 if you don't know what it is for sure. Well, nobody knows for sure when they're calling in, but I mean, we're giving you as much as we can give you. Yeah. I do your homework. Yeah. Oh boy. Some of them are harder than others. This is one of the harder ones. The first two were pretty easy. This one's a little bit on the harder side. We told you from the get go, it would get harder as we go along, so it's worth doing your homework. And let's see. We've got Samantha. Samantha, your college 25. Where are you calling from, Samantha? We're actually getting messages. Hi. Hi. Samantha, you sound very excited. Are you feeling confident this morning? Yes, I am. Okay. Samantha, what is the Sabrina's secret sound? Okay, so I think it's a kitchen mixer for the song feather. Your signals are mixed. You. Yeah. Oh my gosh, I know we just made your day. You're getting Sabrina Carpenter tickets, but you just made our morning because we needed a winner this morning. Ah, yeah. Perfect. We really did. We turned it on. There you go. Her answer couldn't have been more perfect. Very clear. But Samantha, listen, great job. Thanks for playing along. Certainly. Thank you for listening to the Billy and Lisa morning show, but please hold on because producer Riley is going to get your information. Congratulations, Samantha. Thank you. Thank you. And yeah, we'll have a brand new sound at eight 10, the Sabrina's secret sound. And this thing keeps on going. So a 10 brand new sound, but coming up next is the two week notice thing when you quit a job. Still a thing. We're going to talk about quitting your job. How to do it the best ways and obviously your crazy stories, like always, we'll talk about that in six minutes. I'm kiss one away. He's one away. Kiss one away. I need some help. I've been a nanny for the last 24 years, and I need to know how I should break it to my boss that I'm working with now that I'll be leaving on the 20th, giving them to each notice. But I don't know how to start. I would like your advice. So that would be really great if you guys can help me here. Well, that's a really stressful time in life, isn't it? When you decide you want to move on from a job that you're doing to another job and whether or not you give a notice or how do you quit? Now, she's a nanny, right? So that's a very specific job and you're always in someone's home, you're taking care of their kids. So that's a really like personal, important position that's hard to fill because it's not going to be the right fit for everybody. So that's why I think she should give as much notice as she possibly can to the family just because of that reason, that it's hard to find someone that might gel with your family and it's your kids too. And a family needs a notice so they can plan, right, find somebody else. Is the two week notice thing? Is that a thing of the past? Do people still do that? Well, again, like in certain businesses, if you give, if you say, I would like to give two weeks notice, don't some of the companies say you're done? Yeah. We don't want, we don't want the notice. Like banks, I know, most banks because you have sense of information. Right. You quit. They do it here. Right. That's what I was going to say. Yeah. Right. Because they don't want you to take anything. Yeah. I don't think a notice has ever been given or accepted here. You're just walked out. But you know what to be fair? No one gives you a notice when they're going to fire you. That's true. They just fire you. So why don't I give you a notice? I mean, with the anything, it's one thing and it's an intimate thing. It is. But with any other corporate job or whatever, it's like you're not going to give me a notice so I'm firing you. Well, if I know you're going to be a nanny to my children and on your previous job, you did not give a notice, I would have a hard time hiring you because I would expect the same courtesy of a notice because you have to plan your schedules to keep you've got to get to work and so I think that's one of those circumstances where a notice is absolutely necessary. But overall, I think you're right. I don't think it's a big deal anymore. Really? Yeah. I was always taught no matter what, even if they're going to walk you out, you offer the two weeks. I think you should offer two weeks to a month depending on what your position is so that they can find someone else and sometimes they ask you to help train the person and all that kind of stuff. Anything I feel like it could take longer than two weeks to find someone. It could. That's actually a much more unique. I'm telling you, you're screwed if you're nanny leaves. Oh, yeah. Like, you know, with no notice, that's a tough thing. Well, I wonder how the family was treating her. Like, I wonder if it's like amicable or she wasn't like, you know, they were treating her and like that's why she's leaving. Yeah, I'd like to hear more from her in terms of why she felt the need to move on. I think also it's for your career, you know, if you leave a job and don't give a notice, I always feel like then you can't put that job down as a reference. Yeah, but if it's, but sometimes you don't really, I mean, they say they're going to check your references, but like half the time they don't, you know, you're not a two week person. Oh, they're going to fire me. I feel like, I feel like I feel like you're right. I think do the right thing offer to give the notice. And then if the company says, yeah, yeah, we're fine. You can leave today. Then at least you did the right thing. At least you tried, at least you tried, I got to tell you something when he's not going quietly. No. Oh, no. They may walk her out, but she'll walk out kicking and screaming. Well, there was somebody well, we didn't have that happen kicking and screaming. I was I aspire to be that girl. All right. Let's see what the people have to say on this. Good morning on the topic of jobs. I don't know if you guys remember me, but last summer I drove to work and like he's no just and walked out and never told the name when I was putting. And if it's that kind of job, I would totally recommend that method. But as a man, you definitely get noticed because as someone who works with kids, those kids, they mean something to you and you mean to me stuff. Yeah, it's true. I agree. Now, how did you think we would remember her? She called it last summer when she was on her way to quit her job. Yeah. She did not give a notice and she told us that she was just going to go in, drop her keys and quit. And that's what she did. Wow. Oh, that's the right thing. Well, you're not going to get a recommendation. Yeah, but if you don't really rely on them for one, like there's certain jobs where you can just kind of, but also maybe already have a job. Yeah. Right. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah. Good point. Good point. Yeah. Let's go to the phones on this one. Kate. Is that Kate? Katie. Katie. Hi. Hi, Katie. What's your story? A two week notice is a definite if you don't want to go on the blacklist. Right? Yeah. Makes sense. What's the blacklist, though? Like you won't rehire them. What's the blacklist for you guys? So if they just stop showing up or they don't give us enough notice, we work with patients. So we definitely need to make sure we have coverage on it, so I definitely think it depends on what field you're in, but they definitely check references. So I know for us, if you just give us no notice, then we put you down as not eligible for rehire, and that's something that somebody calls, we do let them know. So I'm guessing that's like a visiting nurse profession or? So I work for a hospital. Yeah. So it's definitely a plus, but I think depending on what industry you're in, you're definitely, you definitely want to give a two week notice. I agree. I agree. Well, you really have to give a notice, and you want to survive in the medical industry, I'm guessing. Make sure you've got recommendations behind you. I mean, unless you're like totally angry with the company that you're working for, it's just good to give them notice. Yeah. Don't just like announce one day that you're quitting. I quit. I will not come to work again. Hope you like Billy. How was that about? All right, topic time is coming up next. Hit us up. Do you have a good one? Do you quit a job randomly? Or, you know, an employee that did 617-93-11108 or you can reach out directly to me via the TalkBack feature. That's the TalkBack mic on the iHeart app tap that red microphone and join in topic time is up next. What is the topic today we're going to be talking about Billy and Lisa present topic talk amongst yourself topic time before we get to the topic. Listen earlier this morning at 710 we had a Sabrina secret sound winner, which means at 810 this morning, a little more than a half hour from now, we're going to have a brand new Sabrina secret sound, but right now it is topic time. We were talking about this earlier. If you quit your job, do you give a two week notice? Is it necessary anymore? Does anybody care? Do companies care? Anyway, we'll start with the phones. And what do you know? We'll start with the mayor of the South End and good morning, your honor, the mayor. Good morning. You know, I haven't worked in a long time, but I have this advice. Always give your two week notice. You know why? Because you're going to meet the same people on the way down that you met on the way up. That's so true. Like when you leave a party, you always say goodbye to the host of blah, blah, blah. It's like you're leaving a party. And my second bit of advice is always marry money. Yep. Have a great day. That's the mayor of the South End, one of our talk backers who, you know, it's sage advice. Yeah. And we need to be clear if we have new people listening and we do every morning. Okay. We'll get new listeners to the Billy and Lisa morning show. He's not the mayor of Boston. He's the mayor of the South End self proclaimed there a million. Yes. My favorite part about him is that when he, when he first started leaving talkbacks, she was like, oh, he, he inherited a bunch of money. He's rich. Like as a joke. Yeah. Yeah. And it was really true. Yeah. A ton of money. And he got himself a townhouse with an elevator. Yeah. He was at the Sabrina Carpenter drag brunch this weekend. Lisa. Yeah, he gets out. But clubs, I'm guessing it was a club cafe. That's exactly where he's like a day socialize. He is. Yeah. Anyway, back to the topic here. So I mean, we're split on this, right? Two week notice or not. Let's start with for it. Hey, Justin. It's Megan, the nanny here, first time call backer. I just wanted to say a little something about the notice being a nanny. Most families require at least one month notice. Some require to, it all depends, and it is usually stated out in your contract when you start the job. But I myself have been a career nanny for about 20 years now. And there have been plenty of times when the families didn't hold up to that. Oh, when they let the nanny go. Yeah. See? Yeah. They do it to you. So the other side of that, I will, you know, I agree with this is if it goes bad, you know what I mean? Yeah. If the place goes bad, they do something. Then they don't want the two weeks notice. My husband manages a team of 20 for a tech company. And one of the people on his team gave two weeks notice to HR and then promptly sent out an instant message to everyone on the team, letting them know how much money he made. The kicker part is that he was a newer employee, yet with a higher paid employee. So to calm everyone down, HR had to give his entire team an extra weeks vacation. They no longer accept two weeks notice. Yeah. So he was trying to sabotage. I love that. He was also trying to let his like his coworkers know this is what I'm making. Right. Hey, transparency is important. And they just passed the law. Did you see this in Massachusetts? Yeah. Now you can share what you make with your other employees with your coworkers and with that against the law before it wasn't frowned upon. Yeah. I don't think it would be against the law. Yeah. But now it's your open. If you choose, you know, you know, getting back to the nanny situation for a minute. If we can, I mean, a one month notice, I guess, is standard within the nanny world. But I could have believed as much as I believe in the one month nanny because there are schedules for the kids and everything else. Is that one month awkward? Yes. Yes. It is because you know that you have to say goodbye. And like one of our talk backers said the kids get very attached to the caregiver. So that's another whole situation where they have to say goodbye and you have to explain it to young children that they're going to be getting someone new. Okay. Yeah. It's listen, I mean, I'm really on the side of two weeks. That's where I stand on that. That's just me. Two weeks note, it's definitely important because if you move on to that new job and they want to ask for references, I mean, you would want, you know, your last job to speak highly of people if they do call for that reason. Okay. That's why you pretend to have your friend be your old boss and give out the number and lie. Like, Oh my God. So you're giving your new employer your potential. Someone else's number. Yeah. You say, this is my boss, Lisa, from iHeartMedia and I'm going to give them my number, like your number to them and you're going to tell say good things about me. Lisa, I know you're perplexed. I don't think that would work. Oh, it works. This is an item from Winnie's World. That's why they call it in Winnie's World. Oh, fake references are a way of life, people. By the way, try giving a two week notice here to this company and you'll get a thanks, but no thanks. Yes. You get walked out. Oh, yeah. You get walked out. Well, you don't think it's like the president's like the security level. Get out. You can't have anything. There's trade secrets. It's also if you if you're doing sales for a company, give you two weeks notice. So if they keep you for the two weeks, what are you going to keep selling the company? No, you're checked out. Well, not only that, like companies like this, if they're afraid, you're going to be taking what information you already have it all in your top, you have it in your desktop and in your iPhone. You took it before you gave the note. Exactly. That's why I feel like it's always good, like transition with the client. If you've got clients, you can introduce them to the new person. Right. I don't know. Right. That's why I was. I agree. I agree. My husband manages a team of 20 for a tech company and one of the people on his team gave two weeks notice to HR and then promptly sent out an instant message to everyone. It's Monday. It's Monday. It's Monday. It's Monday. Justin's playing the same thing. Talk back over again. Yeah. You okay in there, buddy? Yeah. Right. Pumpkin. We heard that one pumpkin. Want to come in here and want to switch jobs? I'm looking at about 50 talkbacks. There is this one time I worked for Route 21 in college and I had two jobs and somehow my schedule overlapped and so I didn't show up to one of my shifts and I forgot to notify Route 21. So when I came in the next weekend for my shift, they fired me without telling me saying that they thought that I quit that I just wasn't coming back and I was like for one shift. That's crazy. So never went back there. Yeah. Oh boy. Well, it's Route 21. Like they filed for bankruptcy anyway. Yeah. You know what's funny? We're getting a lot of calls and a lot of talkbacks on this one. It's a hot one. It's a hot one. So you know what? We'll play Calvin Harris real quick. We'll come back with all the opinions on the two week notice. Billy and Lisa, every morning, kiss one away. You know, every so often topic time is so hot. We have to have like an overhaul or something more calls than ever coming in. Let's go to Jim next. Jim, what do you think? You give a two week notice or not if you're quitting a job. You absolutely give a notice because what happens is people don't realize is people give a backdoor reference. Oh, that sounds like a very interesting back to where it's funny. When he just said that, you just give a fake number with a fake phone number, have them call your friend and pretend she's the boss. I don't think that works. No, no, no. What happens is you get a message on LinkedIn. I'm hiring manager. I'm hiring John Doe. You work for John Doe at XYZ company. Why did he leave? What do you think? So that backdoor reference is a conference call that you know nothing about that's going on behind the scene. And that's your death wish. What do you think? So LinkedIn can be your best friend and you're worth nice to have. Well said. Well said. The good news is I don't know how to get to Will. Jamie, you're up next. What's your story? Hi, Billie and Lisa in the morning show. So you guys gave me the best advice. I actually was a personal assistant part-time Danny for a family. I gave them a few months notice and then I'm working for my dream job. My iPhone Annie full-time Annie. So because of you guys gave me the best advice. I am now in my dream job. So how did they say about the two months? Did they accept it? Did you say the whole two months? They accepted it. Yeah. No, they accepted it. I worked it. I mean, I just told them I was, you know, looking for more hours. Yeah. But I got to ask for that for that two month period. Was it awkward around the house? Not really. We had a lengthy conversation about it. I mean, we both just kind of moving in different directions. I wanted more hours. I wanted to be more of the full-time Annie not a personal assistant anymore. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They probably appreciated your honesty. Yeah. No. I mean, we're talking on good terms. I mean, I've never left a family on bad terms. There you go. I've given no less than a month notice. And the good news is you're in your dream job. Good one. Good call. Thank you for that call. Oh, yeah. I used to work for a movie rental place. And one day the district manager showed up unannounced demanding to make all these changes and speak to the store manager while the store manager was never there. She only showed up when she deemed fit. So after she showed up and did what the district manager wanted and the district manager left, she chastised me for calling her in on her day off, et cetera, et cetera. Well, I just looked her in the eye and took my lantern keys off through him on the desk and walked out the door. There you go. Wow. You think he was working at Blockbuster? Oh, remember that? It must be, right? Movie rental, right? Oh, that's what he said. Yeah. But was there? I mean, there was one off. It was Hollywood. It was a pawn shop. Yeah. Yeah. Then they had this place down the street Avenue video in Malden and they had the separate room in the back for the, you know, adult content. Yeah. Yeah. I always wanted to go in there. There's one on Mystic Ave. Yeah. It's still there. You have the window. This is a good one. The windows are all blacked out. Yep. I think it's still there. God. I don't know what the hell is that renting in there. What's going on in there? Memories, man. Good morning. You know, when I gave my two weeks notice, I worked at a cable television company in New York City and I was going to another cable television company. They escorted me out within 10 minutes. I'm not sure what confidential information I would have taken with me, but that's what happened. Yeah. Yeah. She was going to the competition. You know what? Speaking of being escorted out, let's go to line one, Amber. Okay. Amber, what happened? Thank you. Good morning. Good morning. I put in my two weeks notice after working at a bank for six years and the same thing. They escorted me right out of the building, walked in my desk and walked me in a car. Isn't it standard in bank, though, because you have like information? I mean, I don't think so. I wasn't going to take anything. I worked in the call center. Oh, yeah. Did they not let you take anything from your desk? They made me take everything from my desk. Okay. They said, we'll send you your stuff. Oh, no, I had quite the build up at my desk after six years. Do they walk other people out too? Or was it just you, Amber? They said that was, I think it was cool, but personal. I don't think the supervisor makes me. Yeah. They were all talking about you behind your back. Yeah. We're in. Off you go. Thanks for staying. Let's end with Stephanie. There's something going on there. All right. Who do we have Stephanie? Stephanie's Stephanie. You're going to end it. Let's go. Oh, for Winnie's point, as an HR manager, it's not as easy as, you know, Lisa's thinking everything. It's not as easy anymore to give a fake reference because companies are actually using programs. They say, you know, can we, what references would you like to give? And they'll say the companies, and then they actually call the direct lines for the company. Yeah. I didn't. I have way too much time in their hands. No, but Winnie. I didn't. Yeah. When you said that, I was like, I don't think... Why? You know, what, guys? I'm not worried about it. Here's the thing, right?
