Billy and Lisa in the morning. It's just a great start to my day on Kiss 108. Okay, good morning, everybody, and welcome in to the Billy and Lisa Morning Show. If you're just waking up, this is the Thursday episode of the Billy and Lisa Morning Show. And I want to start the day with two words, sweater weather. Is this the first day for sweater weather or at least overnight? A little bit. Yeah. Hoodie weather, sweater weather. I mean, I have a sweater on right now. You know, people can't see me, but you guys can, so. Oh, sweater weather. Sweater weather. Oh, got it with wine. Sweater weather. Sweater weather. About time. It's about time. Sweater weather. Okay. Sweater weather. Yeah, think about it, yesterday we hit 91 degrees in Boston and overnight last night and early this morning. It's like a 20 degree shift overnight. Crazy. Yeah, every year at the end of summer, I love summer, but around this time, I just want fall to come. I don't know. I like the cooler weather. It's very comfortable. Yeah. You know? Well, September is the best month, I think. It is. That's why everybody sings. We'll see you in September. That's right. But anyway, we have to have to have to say thank you to all of Lisa Donovan's book club fans who came out to Jocelyn Maine. What a great group of people you have in that club. Well, I want to start off by thanking you guys for all coming out because I know it was midweek. Justin. Thank you. Every single person walked up to me and said, I can't believe you're out. I know it was quite a sighting last night to see you there. So again, thank you all and producer Riley to it was her first book club and Winnie and Billy. Obviously, the two of you two you guys have been to a few before. But Jocelyn Maine was a beautiful store. It's up in Burlington. Check it out if you haven't been at the Burlington Mall. They're a great partner and then 90 plus sellers we want to thank. And I want to thank Erin Gates because she was my local author guest last night and she killed it. She's amazing. Very interesting. Yeah. So much good advice for just how to like create a better space for yourself. Where are there? Wherever you live. And the food was good. Oh, Baker's best. Yep. And Bors and cheese was delicious. So some more sand, whatever that she is. I had the cheese. Sorry. Bors and Mr. Chris Holm, Bors and whatever cheese we had like meat sticks. Oh, lovely. Sticks with peppers. Yeah. Very nice. Billy Lisa. He's you got to go over there out of the box sale in the corner is fantastic. Great deals. You got to then he kept coming up back up to me. Did you go look out of the box sale? See those pillows? It's famous at Joss and Maine. You have to look for it. It's on the back wall. Yeah, I saw it. Of the store. Yeah, I saw it. And the deals are incredible. They are incredible. But yeah, Joss and Maine set up perfectly for your book club I thought last night. And again, the people were so nice. So thank you so much for coming out on behalf of Lisa. And because you worked that thing hard. It was good. It was really, really well done. And thanks to our marketing department. Thanks to our bosses for coming to Alan, Dylan, Allie. He was there in support sales department. So it was great. Yeah. A lot of new book club members came to, which was nice because we haven't had one on that on that side of the city in Burlington. So a lot of people that live over there were like so happy that we were there. And this is the unofficial start to the long Labor Day weekend. If you talk to people who are into travel, they say today is the busiest day of the weekend. And I love this. They did it again this morning. You witnessed it rightly. I did. TSA at the airports across America, predicting the biggest travel weekend in history, like pre caveman, although they weren't traveling. No, they weren't. They just walked around and bare feet. As far as they could get on foot. All they wanted out of life was a piece of meat and they had to go find it anyway. Yeah, Labor Day weekend. And today the unofficial start, hey, by the way, I was wondering this last night, when is the last day of summer, September 21st. It's around the 21st. Yeah. Yeah. So we still have some time. It's like Justin's birthday weekend. Always. Okay. Yeah. Do we have early talk backers, Justin? Because you're giving me that look that I never understand. Okay. You just keep doing this. Oh, yeah. Because he's like, no one know why that you're like talking while he's trying to get it. Yeah, right. Yeah. Talk back in. No, that's not what it is. No, I was here nice and early. I went through all the audio and Lisa's book club. There was some amazing cuts that I missed that maybe people wanted to hear. Well, we're going to do that in the entertainment. I thought you and I agreed. Oh, okay. No. I thought we were doing it here. You said we were doing it right here. No. Never said that. Okay. Sorry. My bad. Yeah. It really is your bad this time. I know you don't like to accept it, but this is a great reason why Justin doesn't go out on school nights. See? You guys give me so much crap. This is it. This is it. Anyway, everyone is book club Courtney. Lisa, I just want to say that we had a great time last night and we had so much fun that she was awake the whole time and she slept most of the night, which was awesome. We hope we can be at the next one. Bye. Oh, yeah. That was great, too. I thought babies are welcome. Yeah. It's our first book club, baby. A lot of annoying babies like nice babies. Yeah, she was quiet. I'm always quiet. She was a very nice baby. What are you saying? If you're a parent, you have to rate your child first before coming. And you know if you have an annoying kid, like, don't bring your annoying kid, but he really didn't bring it. That's actually true, Justin. You know, if you have an annoying child, right? Yeah. Yeah. Well, you know, it depends on the mood of the baby and how they're doing and it can shift at any moment, but we encourage everybody to come. We can kind of everybody. Well, Billy Lee saying Justin. Yeah. I see. I remember one day Justin. I told I said, you know, this was when Abel was younger, okay? And you know, well, documented kind of a handful. And I invited you to come and bring Abel somewhere I forget what it was. And Justin just briefly said, we don't bring him anymore. Yeah, we keep them at it. We do not bring him anywhere. I said, okay, I just thought I'd extend the invite. Anyway, we're coming up on entertainment and yes, we will bring you some of the highlights from Lisa Donovan's book club last night and and we will find out today who the Patriots starting quarterback is going to be. And we'll hear from the coach coming up next standby from the Planet Fitness Kids 108 Studios. We're back with Billy and Lisa in the morning on hit 108. Now the entertainment update with the Billy Coss says, all right, here we go. First of all, seven 10 this morning, we're going to have Billy Eilish tickets. Those are coming up at seven 10. Also, Dennis Leary is going to call into the show this morning, talk about comics, come home, which is coming home to Boston November or second. And Patriots coach Jarrod Mayo says, we're going to know today who the Patriots starting quarterback is going to be at least for game one September. Yes, we've made a decision. I'm going to talk to the individual players and then I'll get it to you guys. Yeah, he also said this yesterday. I think it's important to remember what's good for the team today. It may not be good for the team weeks down the weeks down a lot. And so I think the, you know, the challenge is you want to win every single game now, but also we're trying to build something special here in New England. Yeah. It's going to be you get it, Winnie, may Drake, may. Oh, okay. I like that. Oh, because then it's Jarrod Mayo, so, you know, okay, all right, you know, leave it to Winnie. She put the brakes on a very creative piece there, Justin, very wet blanket. Yeah, she smothered it. I get it. Yeah. Patriots are in Cincinnati September 8th, a one o'clock kickoff. You're not going to see any primetime Patriots games. I'm surprised they're not putting them on a lot of one o'clock, like 11 o'clock Tuesday morning. It's a rebuilding phase for your New England Patriots. As expected, Adam Sandler on the Kelsey Brothers podcast yesterday, he and his daughters are huge swifties and they loved it when Travis started dating Taylor. You guys first started dating. My God was my family like, yes. He's a gentleman and she's having so much fun with it. Like anytime Taylor's laughing with you, my whole family's like, hi, five in. That's a great, uh, good news for Lisa Donovan, Adam Schefter suggesting Travis may have already bought the engagement ring. Adam Schefter right here. How do you know that Travis Kelsey didn't binding? Engage. I don't know. Do you know? Are you going to break some big news here? I'm just saying you said that he didn't buy an engagement ring and I'm just wondering how you had it for me. Yeah. There was silence there. Now Adam Schefter is breaking engagement news. Yeah. Well, did he did that though just the sound maybe, but I'm just saying he's very well respected. Well, Lisa hopes it's true. Yep. Getting some money to afford that. Putting that in the file. And this September of what you cash in on a hundo 50 from May 50 from Justin. Yep. But it did spark a frenzy online with the Swifties yesterday. And reports say Travis just invested in a racehorse named Swift delivery. Wow. Interesting. Wow. He's got a lot of money to spend now. That's very interesting. Swift delivery. Yeah. Oh, what does that mean? All right. All right. I love this. Yeah. Racehorse. So why is he got a lot of money to spend right now. He's spending some of that podcast money. 100 milli. Yeah. And Edelman and Gronk throwing out the first pitch at Fenway Park last night. Edelman and Gronk. Look at the size of Gronk and Edelman was a tremendous player and Gronk. Look at us. How big is him? I mean, my god, can you imagine being a defensive back turn to tackle, right? They seen Gronk for the first time in the broadcast. He seemed pretty shocked. Yeah. The size of Gronk. Well, maybe it's just the in-person. The hair has seen them. Everybody was down on the field. How big could he have made next to Edelman. He towers over Edelman. Look at the size of Gronk. Speaking of Edelman, he's got his two shells at the Wilbur here in Boston, both sold out tomorrow night. Oh, I love that. Gronk will be on stage with him, right? Definitely. He's promising special guests. Imagine if he gets Brady, that'd be insane. Yeah. Have you heard anything about that, Bill? No, I haven't heard a thing about Brady. Okay. No. We haven't heard anything. No, but definitely Gronk. Look at the size of Gronk. Netflix confirming now the basketball series that will follow LeBron James, Jimmy Butler, Anthony Edwards, and Jason Tatum. It's called Starting Five, it premieres October 9th on Netflix. And Usher had the second of his two shows in Boston last night, and he brought out Jason Tatum's girlfriend, Ella May. Oh, no. It's a good song to tell you. Not in Boston. Yeah, she did her song, "Bood Up." Oh, fun. That's the only song she ever does. The song is like eight years old. Well, it's a hit. No, it's a good song. I just, I don't know. Bood Up. Do you want more from her? I mean, not necessarily, but I'm just saying. I think that's enough. She just had a kid. Yeah, exactly. She's great. Seems lovely. She's Bood Up. Bood Up. Just announced Nikki Glaser, going to host the Golden Globe Awards in January. She, of course, is the ultimate roast master, says she can't believe she was asked a host. She's still funny. Oh, God. She's funny. And she says some of the best jokes she's ever heard came from the monologues at the Golden Globes. And Lady Gaga joined Bruno Mars at his sold-out show in Vegas. He's got his residency there, and they did their new song together, "Die With a Smile." That's the world, what's the thing I want to be next to show? Bood Up, baby. I am obsessed with this song. It's so good. Yeah. Well, you know, last week he did the new place in L.A. that initiative, "Dome." What did I just hear? It was called "The Intuitive Dome." Okay. I don't know. No, I don't know. It's a new dome in L.A. You did it in chief. I know of it. What's it called? Intuitive Dome. No. Is it wrong? Am I wrong? Is that a word called? I don't know. What happened? No, she came on stage in "Performer Than That" too, which is a price. That was 10 seconds of our life, we'll never get that. Never. But, you know, Bruno doesn't allow phones at his shows, so you know that well. That's what I'm saying. So you want to see the live version at the intuitive dome they had phones. There you go. A lot of people on social worried about ludicrous wondering if he had any serious health concerns after drinking the glacier water in Alaska, he says he's fine. Water really tasted, but when I tell you I'm a water snob, it was the best taste in water I've ever had in my life. And as I drink it, I felt like every cell in my human body was being hydrated and rejuvenated at the same damn time. I feel like Superman. Yeah. Yeah. Tomorrow we'll find out he's been hospitalized. He has a parasite. Lisa Donovan's book club last night at Johnson Maine in Burlington. We were all there, and your guest author, this time Lisa Erin Gates. She's an interior decorator, local author, influencer, blogger, everything. She's an amazing person. I asked her, though, what was her favorite design show to watch? I don't watch design shows because I just get really mad. It's not true. Yeah. I mean, the numbers are always like three times smaller than they need to be. The timeline isn't totally impossible. It just like makes my job so hard because they're trying to convince people that you can do a kitchen renovation in six weeks and you cannot. You cannot. Sometimes they do it in 24 hours, like that's just not a thing. Like property brothers are liars. I can voice. She said that. And she loves the property brothers. But yeah, all those shows, they're just, they're fake. Yeah. Like you can't do it. No, there's just no way. Yeah. And then we asked her about her book, the first book that she came out with, it has this really cool spine. It's black and white, really graphic. And I asked her where she's seen it. I want people to read my book, but I also, if some people just want to buy it because they think it's pretty and looks nice on their shelf, it's a whole nother market. You have to tap into, you know, like, where's the coolest place you've seen this book? All the Kardashians have it. No way. Yeah, Kardashians and only murders in the building. It was spotted on the set. Oh, it's a big deal. Yeah. Yep. So when's the next book club event? It's at the end of September and it's with Hank at Philippi Ryan. No way. Channel seven. Help me, Hank. Channel seven. She has a new novel out. So details to follow very soon. Hey, did you notice the channel seven and we love them? They're doing our best songs of summer on their news. I thought it was channel five. We noticed that. It's five or seven. It's channel seven. Yes. Yeah. They're doing a songs of summer just like we are. I mean, what they using? No, but it was Doug, me and Doug, me and was doing it. That's channel five. Well, I'm just saying we got to get it right. It was channel. It was Doug, me and I don't really think we have to get it right. Well, when I call someone out there is using our songs of summer. It's Doug, me and them. Okay. Well, it's a form of flattery. Yeah. Yeah. If someone, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. He's hot for old guy. Fireworks on Boston Harbor tonight to celebrate the start of a Labor Day weekend. By the way, Charlestown Marina happened to be a wonderful place to catch the fireworks. I wish I knew someone had a boat over there. Yeah, we should find a, see if we can find some close to Charlestown Marina. Anyway, they kick off, they say at eight o'clock tonight. And now this actor, Jeremy Jackson, I'm not sure you'll remember that name, but apparently he played David Hasselhoff's son in the Baywatch movie. Well, he did an interview this week and says while he was on the set of the show Baywatch or the movie Baywatch, he used to sneak into the cast mates dressing rooms and sniff their bathing suits. And he admitted that? Yes. He did. It's wrong with him. Okay. Didn't we have a sniffer story yesterday? We did. It's a hotel worker sniffing guests. Of course he was. We're brought to you by, you know, we try to deliver everything. You don't want a little bit of every report. Yeah. Yeah. Brought to you by Boston vision. Are you tired of fumbling for the glasses? I'm not sure they're very proud of this right now. We're wrestling with the contact lenses. Say goodbye to that blurry vision and say hello to clarity with the LASIK surgery. It's that simple with Boston vision. I could play hundreds of online casino style games for free, like online slots, bingo, slingo and more. Plus, I get a daily login bonus. It's just too bad that up here, I don't have anyone to share my excitement with. Woo hoo hoo hoo. Hey guys, so welcome back and happy Thursday, inching closer and closer to the long Labor Day weekend. What's today going to be like this? It's going to be a lot cooler. I have only around 70. I mean it was like 90 yesterday, so this is a big temperature shift flirting with sweater weather. Yeah. Just saying. And we have a pair of Billy Eilers tickets right now, 6179311108. You know how it works. Collar 25 gets through. You will need the keyword and the keyword is Venmo and you've got some talkbacks in there, Justin. Yeah, let's check in with the mafia. See what's going on today. Good morning. I'm trying to figure out if this is a new trend. The other day, this teenage girl knocked on my door and I have never met her before. And she asked if she could charge her cell phone. She said her cell phone had just died. And I thought that was very odd and concerning because I'm a complete stranger. So I don't know if this is a new trend or I don't know. I would guess new trend. I don't know if it's a trend as much as it is that most teens are addicted to their phone. Yes. That's I don't think it's a trend. I think it's probably a good. She was desperate. She was desperate for her phone to be charged. Imagine. I don't know if you want to be doing that in 2024. No, it's not safe. Yeah. By the way, hot tip. If you're looking to do something similar to that, you can always, you know, most homes have a little plug outside. Yeah. But regardless, I think it's more like if that would be trespassing. We want to encourage them not to do that. Yeah. No. Can I get come out of your house or some kid with their phone wasn't here? Yes. Hello. Post in a TikTok. I wanted to tell Justin that he just saved me. I had got a phone call and it was from money taken out of my PayPal account. And they were asking me questions and I remember Justin talking about what happened with him and I was getting more and more suspicious and yep, it was a scam. Good for you. Wow. Yeah. Be careful. Remember two things. The bank will never call you and two, I'll always use your credit card and not your debit card. Yeah, you know. Oh my. Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. There was a woman last night at the book club actually who happened to her father recently and she listened to our show heard my story and her father was literally getting scammed. He's elderly 92 with a scammer on the phone with him going and buying gift cards at CVS. Oh my God. Luckily, she stepped in at the right time and stopped before they really got anything. But it's a scary world and it's it's freakish. There are so many different scams now on your phone all day long you get these weird email. You say, what is this? And they're trying to scare you into responding. They almost got Billy the other day on the text you've gotten these Lisa, your package will try to be delivered. Click this link to see where it is. Yes. They're in. Yeah. Yeah. USPS just tried to deliver a package. We need further information on your address. Okay. If the post office is delivering a package, they've got the address. I will say this. And when that happened to me, one of our list, a bunch of listeners left talk backs and called and said I had to watch this movie called the beekeeper, yeah, with Jason Statham. Stay them. Have anybody seen that? No, but I've told it's great. I watched it when I was on the plane on vacation. It is the best movie ever because it's about a scam. They scam this woman of her life savings and then Jason Statham is her beekeeper and he's like a, you know, military guy and he goes on a rampage and tracks down the call center. Oh, I love this. Wow. I have to watch this. You got to watch it. Some character and every movie is in. Let's go to Caitlin. Caitlin, you're calling 25. Good morning. Where are you calling from? Good morning. I'm calling from Bedford, Matt. There it is. Beautiful, beautiful Bedford. I have no idea where it is. Oh, it's in the root two car corridors, they call it. Sure. I'm not from here. I just work. She doesn't know either. She's lost a ticket. Where do you live, Caitlin? I live in Paprol, actually. It's a pretty far. Oh, yeah. Yeah, you do. I will you. I just sleep in bed for it. But sometimes I do think about it. You have a key word for us? It's Venmo. Venmo. And that easy, you now have tickets to see Billy Eilish. Oh, my gosh, I'm so excited. Thank you so much. Well, we're excited for you. I know. I'm jealous. I want to go. Totally. We all want to go to Billy Eilish. She's amazing. Anyway, what are we doing next? Well, first week of back to school, and what do you know? An issue is dividing the internet, and it has to do with school. So we have to talk about it. We'll do that next. Billy and Lisa. Oh, my goodness. Hey, guys. So welcome back. And Lisa, you're sitting on a story right now that we need to talk about it. Well, it's back to school time, right? And there's a new term for back to school. It's called Venmo Mom, because there's a mom in Tennessee who's going viral because she says she doesn't want to volunteer at her kid's school at all. She'd rather just Venmo the teacher money. I don't know about anyone else out there, but meet the teacher is super stressful. I do not want to be involved at all. I will make sure my kids do their homework. Get to school time. I don't want to be on PTO, PTA, Rube Mom, T-Mom. I don't want to do any of that. And I start getting real stressed when they start asking for volunteers. I know they're judging me because I'm not raising my hand, but I don't want to come in. I don't want to set up. If the room mom needs money. Fine. All of them owe money right over. But I successfully avoided all of that today. I even told one of the coaches that I am a Venmo mom. Wow. I regret it. Enough agree with her. You know what? There is something to it because you do get asked to volunteer. I mean, we've all done it. I've done it. I enjoyed it. Sometimes it becomes too much for you. So I kind of like that maybe she's offering a different option now. Well, to be fair, you need both moms, really. There's not because you sometimes need finances and sometimes you need a body. Right. So if you can have both moms in the same school, that's great. Good idea. Yeah. I think it's great. It could be stressful. I mean, it's a great thing to get involved in, but it could be very busy. And she's right about the pressure. And sometimes you're being judged if you are not raising your hand to volunteer. Can I ask a question? I'm not a parent, but I've had parents. I've been a child to them. And I've seen throughout the years, I feel like PTO PTA can be a little like high school-y or like a little like- It can be. Like a black caddy. Absolutely. Yeah. Yep. And think about this, right? At least because you are a parent and I'm a parent, Justin's a parent. But thinking back every single time that you got contacted by phone or whatever, asking you if you can do this or give to that or spend time with this or work this, it was annoying. The first thing you'd say when you hang out the phone, "Oh my God, you won't believe what they want us to do now." So to me, it makes sense. Yeah. Just spend most of money. But I think to Wendy's point, I think there's room for both. I think that if you want to volunteer and you have the time, there are a lot of people out there that love it. They want to be involved. That's great. But if you're working full-time, don't feel pressured to feel like you have to be there. If you really can't. And to understand this, if you decide to be a Venmo parent, you will be judged. Mm-hmm. Shame. Oh, yeah. You have the means, right? And you want to be a Venmo parent. Maybe give a little extra because you know you're not giving your time. You know what I mean? Give 40 instead of 30 or whatever, I don't know. I will say I did. I did carve out some time when the kids were younger. I was at the classroom mom a couple of times and I volunteered at the library. It was great. I mean it was a lot, but I'm actually happy that I did do it and I was involved at that stage. Yeah, yeah. Younger. Justin, are you getting asked a lot? And now I've never been asked once. I think my wife's involved in different things. But the Venmo thing, not just in schools, I do that for everything. Oh, yes. Trust me. Trust me. Trust me. What are we getting Bill and Lee's? What are we doing? I'm like just, oh, just Venmo me. I go and do all the shopping. I'm like his work wife. I do everything and he just Venmo is me. Speaking of that, right? And you know what? I think it works. Yeah. Yeah. Are you happy Bill and Lee's? Yeah, of course. All I know is a couple of years ago, Winnie bought me for Christmas, a $2.50 vacuum. That wasn't from me. But you've Venmo'd her and she bought the vacuum. Well, she added that on. And I'm telling you it's the best thing ever. This thing works better. Oh, that was behind you. I've got all the high end vacuums, none of them more. It's bizarre. I was saying that was his idea. You just push it up and down the floor and picks up everything. It's a carpet sweeper. It's from Joblutz. $15. Just unbelievable. Oh, just unbelievable. Even, I'll get some slack for this. But even birthdays, you don't get cards. No. I just Venmo. I've never gotten Winnie a card once. No. I just send her Venmo. Save your money. I'm not a card person. Take the money there. You would have spent it on the card and add to my Venmo. I don't care who you are on the receiving end. All you really want is money so that you can get what you want versus what they think you want. Okay, can I ask you guys a question? Sure. Only Lisa because that's who I care about. Okay. It's my 10 year wedding anniversary. Winn? Today. Oh, my God. Happy anniversary. Thank you. So, can I just Venmo? Absolutely. Oh, my God. So what she really wants. I actually get a card. Okay. Here's what you do. No, no, no. I think you should take a nice blank piece of, you know, card stock, whatever and write her something. Okay. Yes. And then Venmo. Go to the pig and grab cash. Cash money always feels good in your hands. No one to use this cash anymore. It's all bad. I haven't touched cash in the long run. What about like her favorite spa or something like get her a big gift card to that? Okay. There's a whole other conversation that Justin wants to Venmo's wife for their anniversary. Again, it goes with this topic. The note, the letter is the absolute ultimate. Okay. I'm a poet. I'm a poet. And that doesn't mean you go get one of those holiday cards. No. With somebody in a basement. Yeah. Do it on your own. Okay. Yeah. So, yeah. No. All right. So, I got it. I got it. Thank you. Venmo, baby. I want to be a Venmo mom. Well, there's people on both sides of this argument. Yeah. This video has like a millions of views. There's room for both. Yeah. Winning. All you have to do is show me how to do Venmo. I will. And then I'll become. I'll show you how to Venmo me. Yeah. So, what do you think? Topic time is coming up next. 6179311108 or hit us up on the top back mic that's on the iHeart app. Just tap that red microphone and join the conversation. Topic time. Next. Here's 108. What is the topic? Today, we're going to be talking about Billy and Lisa present. Topic time. You okay in there? I am just good. How are you? I'm just fine. Thank you. All right. We're ready for topic time here. There's a couple different topics we're doing. It's really based around one, but there's a couple different angles to it. Yeah, right. We were talking about the Venmo mom, the woman in Tennessee who went viral because she says, you know, she's not joining the PTO, the PTA, she's just going to Venmo money. Yeah. She's too busy and that's it. So, people are divided on that. I'm sure they are. Is it okay? Is it not? Then the other topic is just Venmo in general giving Venmo as a gift like I do. Right. Is that a big deal? But before we get to all that, let's cover this. I had a baby in April and I'm a teacher, so this is my second day back to work and I'm listening to you guys again. Sorry to say I hadn't listened to you in a while, but I have kept up on the Billy and Lisa after show. What's that, like is topic time, where's right now, what chapter is I'm listening to? So, a lot of people take the summers off teachers especially, you know, which we, you know, we encourage you, you can always listen through the summer on the hard app. You go on vacation, wherever you go, at home when you're smart speaker, but yeah, we replaced right now, classic segment for many years with topic time. Every so often, something runs its course, you know, and we just starting to feel that the right now ran its course and now it's topic time. We like to freshen things up. Yeah, and we felt like every day that we had a topic of the day, it was something that we were talking about that kind of became right now. Yeah, right. So that's where we got topic time. But I love that topic. Okay. What the belief is topic time, what happened to right now? Oh, crazy. Good morning, everyone. I am definitely that room parent and on the parent committee and everything else, but I do appreciate the Venmo moms out there that are on top of things and willing to fund my ideas. So props to them. And Justin, why don't you just go with AI? There you go. Easy. Venmo. And AI can write you a letter. Oh, that's a good idea. Wow. Okay. I think she's being sarcastic. No, I already did it. Yeah. Dude, the letter is the thing. That is all they want is a letter that tells them all the things you love. And she'll save it. This AI letter is pretty good, though. Oh, God. Yeah. Look, you need AI. You want to hear it a little bit? Yeah. Go ahead and give it humorous. Okay. My dearest, Biff, 10 years, it feels like both the shortest and longest span of time, all at once, as I sit down to write this or not, I'm overwhelmed with gratitude and love, not only for you, but for the beautiful life we've built together with our amazing kids. That was for Biff. It goes on and on and on. That sounds like something you would say anyways. Yeah. I'll write it myself. I'm not going to use it. Yeah. You need to write it yourself. Yeah. I'll write it myself. Yeah. If you're going to use AI, I just, you're split up. I know. Seriously. That's so true. You don't even know. You don't have it within you. Yeah. I totally agree. I'm like a quick letter. Yeah. That's not just move on. Yeah. I'll write the letter. I love this topic that you're talking about because I am known for writing long letters and cards. I actually mail letters out with hand writing to my friends and my family and they say I'm the only one that does it and they absolutely love getting a letter from me. And I'm only 41, but I don't know. I think it's nice. Yeah. There is something special to that. Yeah. It's nice. The issue with me is that my penmanship is that of a three year old. It doesn't matter. Okay. Just slow down. Take your time. Or type it. Write it carefully. Yeah. Okay. I got to tell you, even with my kids, the best thing I get from them every year, whether it's Father's Day or my birthday or whatever, is the letter that I get from them. It's true. I save all of them. Yeah. Do you Venmo your kids money too? They'll take it anyway. They can't. Of course they just want the money. That's it. I've been moved. My friend. Her wedding. Money. Pointing her wedding. You have money because I totally forgot the card and a pen and a checkbook. So I was like, oh, I'm just going to send you your gift and she's like, that's full. Yeah. Yeah. I'll take it. It's all anybody wants. Show me. If you do it, you're going to remember if she didn't Venmo, she would have forgotten. Yeah. Right. Right. Like if you're like Winnie, right, and somebody like gave her a card. Her first thought would be, Oh God, I was hoping I'd get money. Oh my God. We're talking to you a car with no money in it. I'm like, okay. What's the point? Yeah. Winnie feels the card when she gets it. She knows right away the amount that's. Yeah. One of my mom's like coworkers, they were friends for years. It was so sweet. It would always send me and my siblings birthday cards every year with nothing in it. See. She would get the card. You get the card in the mail and it was nothing in it. Well, it's a sentiment that she's remembering your birthday. You know what? Remember with 20 bucks. Yeah. It's never the thought that counts for money. Yeah. I have to say my pet peeve is the store bought cards. I just don't. Me too. I don't like them. Who's writing these? What did I get when I'm like, okay. Who was in their basement coming up with these thoughts? I don't know why they're in a basement. No, there is somebody that's their job, right? Yeah. All they do is write those letters. Yeah. Those love letters. It's crazy. Good morning, Billy, Lisa, Justin, and Winnie. Here's a great idea. I think around this Venmo topic, I think the Billy and Lisa Morning Show should Venmo all of your dedicated listeners, beginning with me. My Venmo is Dave. Hello. Hello. Hello. He should have gave it out. Maybe someone would have had a photo. Yeah. Yeah, you never know. You never know. So yeah. So back to the original topic, the PTO PTA, and not wanting to volunteer, but just send Venmo. Good morning, everyone. So my kids went to Pearl Field School for kindergarten through eighth grade. And they had a thing where if you didn't volunteer or work bingo. Oh, my God. Again, in so many hours, by the end of the year, you had extra money talked on to your tuition. Oh, my God. That doesn't sound. Well, actually, I also went to Catholic school. K through eight. I left early because I didn't like it. But you had a, if you did certain volunteering, you got money off of tuition. So it could be, I guess, either way. Well, that makes sense. I know that when my son, Chris, was out at Bryan University, they had students using their own cell phones to call people for donations from former parents and such. But they got money taken off their tuition. Really? Like a percentage. I like that. That's a work. That's like a work. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. My son's baseball league, they, you have to volunteer. And then if you volunteer, you don't pay anything. But if you don't volunteer, you have to give them a check. And then if you volunteer, they'd tear it up. If you don't volunteer, they cash the check. Wow. And that's because people were signing up and then not showing up. Yeah. So it's kind of an insurance policy that they're going to help. You know what I mean? Yeah. Hey guys, I agree. Um, being a Venmo mom, I was a single mom, worked in full time. I took time off one day to show up and help the PTO witches. They were so unkind and so nice, so unkind and so they're like, we've never seen you before. I'm sorry. I worked for time to take care of my children. You'll have a good day and God bless the Venmo moms. Yeah. Again, there's room for both. Because there's some moms that have the luxury of being able to have the time. Right. Because if they're not working, right? Yeah. And it's a huge judgment zone. It really is. You know, the regulars that, you know, have the time and can do it all, you show up for the first time. And they're like, Oh, God, great to see you if you've been. Yeah. Hi, everyone. I just want to let you know before there was Venmo and Venmo moms, when you're as old as me. You call them paper plate moms. We were the moms that just said, sure, they're having a party. I'll donate the plates, napkins, and cups. The ghoulish pops, we were the paper plate moms. All right. There you go. I see that. So many categories. Christine, Christine, what have you got? Give us something good. Hi. So I used to babysit for this family when I was in high school that the mom worked from her basement. Haha. He was a designer of art for greeting cards. Oh, so there really was a basement. See? Yes. I remember that they used to show me that she used to share the art, like the car. He would give me free samples of the cards that I mean, I was like 17 at the time, and I would laugh and be like, Who buys these cards? They're so ugly. They were hideous, but this was before, like, working from home was even a thing. This was so long ago. Yeah. And so I remember thinking, like, they made a ton of money, and I was like, but she worked from her basement, and she designed greeting cards, so I just thought it was really funny. When you said, working from her basement, making cards, and I was laughing out loud, I'm like, Oh, my God, I know those people. Yes. You are completely validated. Yeah. That was weird with a greeting card. Anytime somebody gives me a greeting card, I said, Oh, which person wrote this one from their basement? Like, let's go to Kim. Kim, you're up next. Go ahead, Kim. Good morning. I was calling for the Venmo mom. So in my town with cheerleading, you have to pay an extra $100 when you register. And if you actually volunteer, you get the $100 back. Yeah. Oh, God, you have to pay for everything these days. I mean, I guess it kind of makes sense. It does. It's totally on board with the Venmo thing. You're going to have them. Your wife. No, if I were still having to go to the school and do things and everything, and yeah, I just send them the Venmo, you know, I'll stay home. But I think it's nice to have options. Yeah. Right. Yeah. In life. Well, yeah, I mean, there's some stuff you want to go to, but other stuff you're being forced to go to and you're being judged if you can't do it. Like when he said a couple of minutes ago, some people worked three jobs to try to pay the bills. If you can volunteer, I didn't volunteer my name says school when I loved it. It was so nice to see her element. She was so excited about it. Like I'll do that again. Yeah. That's what I'm saying. Yeah. When I did it, I was so happy that I fulfilled my duty. Yeah. If you weren't a regular, trust me. They were talking about. Yeah. They were shaming you. So I love cards, handwritten with messages on them, but I have to tell you, I love it with cash even more, but the best card I ever got from my mom was a blank card with nothing in it. I only knew it was from her because the return address had her name on it. Yep. That was my birthday card. Hey there. It is Ryan Seacrest with you. You want to make this summer unforgettable?
