With the place in the plate final up for Grabs, Warren Ruh and Wes Carrey battled it out in the fiercely competitive semi-final and the least strand under 15 county district championship shields in the match played in great conditions in Rabeck this evening. From the throw-in, Wes Carrey attacked at speed. Influential mid-feeder Mike O'Shea, seeing his shot brilliantly saved by Hugh Maguire. Dara Keene got the opening score of the game with a smart shot with his left foot. Luke Maguirel dequalising with a well-struck free that just carved inside the post. Carner forward Keene, mine, and then struck for back-to-back goals. The Rabe more men's first, a simple finish after Keene O'Darlick misjudged the high ball, leaving mine and they put it in the Internet. For the second goal, he had far more to do, beating multiple defenders before again firing past O'Darlick. Two points from Maguirelte and one from Jack Gal kept Wes Carrey well in contention. O'Darlick made another brilliant save to dey Maguirelte. Warren Ruh ended the half on top-top with points of Mark Fleming, Keene, mine, and a fine solo effort from Rowan Giron, leaving them with a 2-6-6 point-half-time lead. When they stepped to the second half well, helped by brilliant points by Captain Keene's stack in Jack Morfey, they raced into a 2-11-7 lead and the result looked inevitable. Wes Carrey though had other ideas. With O'Darlick and dey Maguirelte dominating, they got a goal back after Maguire met a torture-perf save, only to see the ball deflecting after unfortunate on Buckley. This came in a period where Wes Carrey got one forward out of reply. With O'Darlick and dey Maguirelte mum the scorers. Keene Greerie is free, then reduced to deficit to just three. When O'Darlick needed possession, it was stack in Keene who grabbed some dirty ball. This set up mine in the kick-over-the-game clinching score and send O'Darlick to the plate final and the meeting with Nard Carrey next week. Elsewhere in Cordell, four-pines on Padreco Sullivan and two goals from Keene Fitzgerald won a well-hit penalty. St. T's carry underway to victory over Castle Island District. They now face a repeat of round one against St. Brendan's in the county final. Expect some trading action in next week's final. Thanks for listening, good luck.
