(upbeat music) ♪ How you going ♪ ♪ How you doing ♪ ♪ Hello, hello, hello ♪ You know that bank review by now, right? You know that is the intro of the sound, the theme of the college football function. You know the host, right? It is the host that knows the most about the NCAA, that college football action, CM, AKA, cousin Mike. AKA professor, CM, Mr. AKA. Been a while, like Stained would say. Haven't talked to you guys and a little over. I'd probably say about nine or 10 days, but I did all my due diligence, to be honest. And I'm coming at you guys. This episode's probably going to drop later in the week, but I am recording right now. September the 3rd, 2024, kind of hard to do that. You know, once the month change, you kind of forget, you know, I don't know if you need to be all remember in school. Whenever the month would change, and you know, at the very top of your paper, if you were doing, you know, homework, or, you know, an assignment or something, you would write your name on the top, and then you put the date. And then when the dates would change, you would write August and then go, oh crap, it's September. And you have to mark out August, put September. Same way when, you know, we gained a year. You know, once it went, you know, December 31st to, you know, January 1st, you kind of forgot that you needed to change that date too. So it's here, you know, week zero, week one, just wrapped up. I wanted to do this show yesterday, technically Monday, but as you know, week zero, week one, it lasts a long time. It's a whole lot of football. And a whole lot of short days, especially week one, officially started, I think Wednesday, Thursday, and it didn't stop till Monday. I love week one. You know, it's the last week without NFL. So, you know, it's on, damn near every channel, damn near every day in week one. And it kind of gets you guys ready for NFL, you know. And week zero started with Florida State and Georgia Tech. And it ended with Florida State and Boston College. And ironically, the teams that started week one and ended week one, both lost. And that was the Florida State Seminoles who are just down bad. And it makes me look like a stooge 'cause I'm pretty sure I got them in the college football playoff. Can they make the college football playoff still? Absolutely, but their shots are slim and none. I mean, they'd have to win every single one of their games. As you all know, I predicted a whole lot of 11 and one, you know, records for this 12 team playoff. And then a few 10 and two's. And so Florida State cannot lose another game if they wanna make this college football playoff. And if they do, they gotta hope a whole lot of other teams lose a couple more games for them to get a chance. But Georgia Tech may end up being a pretty good team. You know, I may have to put them in a preview show. We'll talk a little bit more about them. This just shows to me guys that college football is unpredictable. Like I said, week zero and week one, there was going to be upsets. We had a bunch of upsets. And just crazy that how it starts week zero and how it ended week zero or week one, with the same team getting upset. So just shows how much you know and how much you don't know. But this is a jam-packed episode guys for you guys. I got a week zero, week one review show. And at the end, I'm going to go ahead and preview week two. So hang in there and let's get this going. Hopefully it's not a too long of an episode. But like I said, I've missed you guys. I've been watching a whole lot of football. Of course, wrapped up, you know, preseason NFL, you know, a little over a week ago. It's the last preseason game in the NFL. It's always kind of lackluster. The starters usually never play. But I like it because like I said, I like to watch the second, third, four stringers. Those guys fighting it out for that 52, is it 52, 53? I can't really remember the roster size in the NFL. But and seeing if potentially these guys that get cut, get put on practice, you know, squads. And then they can get picked up by another team because some teams need, you know, positions more than others, you know, after this, you know, the preseason is over and right before the regular season starts. So you never know. Somebody getting dropped can be one team's, you know, treasure that's, you know, some team trash. So it's very awesome. Like I said, it's September we are getting into it. I am already tired to be perfectly honest with you. I have watched so much college football. These past X amount of days and I am not complaining one bit. Like I said, there was enough really, really good matchups to kind of keep you, you know, satisfied, keep that itch scratched. But there was a couple of other games that were just kind of lackluster, a lot of blowouts. Like I said that before guys, you know, you get your old misses versus Fullmans or Fermans and your Tennessee versus Chattanooga's. You're going to get all these type of games in week zero and week one. It is what it is. These teams got to get money. And that's what it comes down to. There's only 12 games in a season. And, you know, sometimes you play two to three non-conference games and you're going to play an FCS opponent. And you're going to have to give them money because that's what keeps these programs going, is so and so going to the horseshoe to play Ohio State. They get $800,000, $1.2 million. I think Colorado State got something like $1.4 to like, $1.6 million from the Texas Longhorns to go get beat by the Texas Longhorns. Like I said, you know, in this, the previous show, don't feel bad about these little schools, the Elon's and the Chattanooga's and the, like I said, the Fermans and all these weird teams that you have no idea who they are and they're just getting blown out. You know, the doors is completely blown out of them. They just caught, you know, just cashed a huge check and it's going to keep their football program for another year. It's going to help out their basketball program, softball, basketball, you know, so on and so forth. It's a good thing that it's, you get games like that because without that, you have to give away money. I mean, you just have to as part of the college experiences. You have to kind of help out the littler guys and you say, hey, you want this check? You got to come down to Austin, Texas in August and get your butt beat. And sometimes it ain't so bad. So like I said, when you're watching these games in the next week or so, seeing Joe Bo getting completely dominated by Ole Miss, so on and so forth, Alabama, yada yada yada. Don't feel bad for the little guys. I promise you, they're getting a fat check. But let's go through this week zero, week one review and then we'll get to the week two preview. Like I said, it started the 24th in Dublin, Ireland, by the way, I did not throw that out there. I totally forgot. Usually when college football starts, they're in, across the pond, you know, they're across one of these oceans. I think two years ago, they were in England or Wales or some kind of place across the pond, can't really remember. And this year was no different. They were in Dublin, Ireland, Florida State and Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech does, you know, the unthinkable. You know, up seats, you know, one of the ACC powerhouses, a team that should have gotten a college football playoff everybody said last year, got completely drove by Georgia in their bowl game. And maybe the wheels are falling off in Florida State because they lose to Georgia Tech 24 to 21. Florida State was favored by 10 and a half points. Of course, they do not cover. Over on this one was 55 and a half. Now we go through a couple more days. I remember this was a Thursday night game. This was a game I just had my eyes on and I ended up watching. This was on seven o'clock on ESPN. This was the North Dakota State Bison. Going down to Boulder to play the Colorado Buffalo. Now, I said this before. I have Shadir Sanders and Travis Hunter on my Heisman, Dark Horses/Longhot. Longshots. They are some of the best players in the country. Colorado has dudes. Travis Hunter is one of the best players in the game period. Did not like how he got away with so many penalties. He pushed off a lot. I didn't like how the end of the game ended up being. But Colorado still eks out a win, 31-26. Like I said, the North Dakota State had the ball at the end of the game, a non-call targeting call. They missed when a first down happens in college. They play the time clock stops. Now they did not stop it. They kept it wound. And North Dakota State ran out of time. And I do believe that they were going to go down there and score. This Colorado team is exactly who I said they were. They're going to have some dudes. They're going to have some very entertaining games this year. If Colorado is on your schedule or if Colorado is coming on a channel where you live, whether it be local or, you know, one of the big boys, extreme service, so on and so forth, or cable, watch a Colorado game. Their offense is going to be dynamic. But their defense is just very lackluster. Without Travis Hunter, that defense is horrible. And they're going to have to be in shootouts to win a whole lot of games this year. And it don't get no easier for them this week, next week. But I should say, but good game, like I said, this should have been a shutout, an eyeshadow upset. But not going to complain. Referees make mistakes all the time. You can probably ask Terry Minafill. He makes mistakes just like everybody else. We are all perfect. We're not all perfect. You know, it's human area, yada yada. But Colorado gets a much needed win. I absolutely do believe 31 to 26 over the bison. All right, let's go on to the 29th. I do believe this was a-- yeah, the same night. Yeah, this was a Thursday night as well. This was the North Carolina Tar Heels going to Minnesota. You know, this was a big 10 versus ACC matchup. I ended up was very interested in this game. This one came on 7 o'clock on Fox. And North Carolina gets the win 19 to 17 over the Golden Gophers. Minnesota was favored by 2 and 1/2. So if you took Minnesota, wait, no, they were minus 2 now. Yeah, I read that wrong. Sorry. Yeah, they don't cover. Yeah, so if you took North Carolina points, you definitely won, and Minnesota does not cover. So actually, wait, they do cover, don't they? No, they're favored by 2 and 1/2. Yeah, they lose by 2, so yeah. Anyways, I'm still kind of rusty at this guy, so I'm so sorry. Over on this one was 50. And so this ended up being an under. All right, let's get into official week one. This was a great way to start the day. This is actually an opponent at work Saturday morning. I got home just in time to turn this game on. This was, of course, the 31st. This was the eighth ranked Penn State in any lines. Going to Milan, Puskerfield to play the West Virginia Mountaineers at 11 o'clock on Fox. Penn State looked amazing. I have to say that first and foremost, Milan Pusker Stadium is not a easy place to play. I was texting Howard Poole Saturday morning going, hey, do not be surprised if this game is close early, and West Virginia kind of hangs in there. I have very high admirations for West Virginia. I still kind of do. I do believe one game doesn't make your season. You can go out and just have it lackluster performance week one and still win 11 games, 10 games in your season. You are supposed to get better every single week. If you look the same week zero as you do in week one, then yes, you have problems at AKA the Florida State Seminoles. They might be in big, big, big, big, big, big trouble here very, very soon. And that just puts the state of Florida. With literally, it's underneath a stove. It's underneath on a grill. It's getting very, very hot in Florida. And I'm not talking about the temperature. We'll talk about the Florida Gators in a little bit. But good win. Like I said, they looked really good. Their defense looked very, very stout against a very good offense in West Virginia. And their offense looked great with Singleton and Alar. Man, they looked very good. They ended up winning 34 to 12. Penn State was favored by eight and a half. So they easily cover. Over on this one was 51 and a half. So when it's a bean and under, this is another big game at the same time period, but this one was on ABC. This was the 14th ranked Clemson Tigers playing the number one Georgia Bulldogs in Mercedes-Benz Stadium. In Georgia, not real fair. They call this a neutral site game. As you can probably emphasize that neutral site, I am literally doing quotations. I think it's kind of bullshit. I gave Georgia a home game. It was very, very loud for the Georgia Bulldogs in that stadium. That is, if that wasn't the Atlanta Falcons stadium, there could be a dash. You could say the home of the Atlanta Falcons, dash or slash Georgia Bulldogs. It seems like they play in that stadium a couple of times a year, because I do believe that's where the SEC Championship has played. They're just always in that stadium. And it seems like they always win too. They blow out these Clemson Tigers, 34 to 3. The left, no doubt. Clemson did not look very good as well, but I also said that in the preview show that you don't want Georgia, period, let alone week one. They will blow you out and they blow out really, really good teams week one. But it's not real fair, like I said, that they played in a Mercedes-Benz stadium, but it is what it is. 34 to 3 is their final score. Georgia was favored by 14. Of course they cover easily over under with 47 and a half. So it ends up being a little bit under. Don't. I still have a high hopes for, I have more hope for Clemson than I have for Florida State right now. Double Sweeney is a good coach. I think they'll bounce back. They will learn a lot from this ass kick and I promise you that. Let's get into the 230 area time kicks. This one came on on ABC. This was a game I absolutely thoroughly enjoyed. This was the 19th ranked Miami, Florida, hurricanes of the U. Going to the swamp to play the Florida Gators, as I said before, talked a lot about the Florida Gators and the offices and how they have the hardest schedule in all of FBS. Playing every single game that they're playing this year, I think is against a winning opponent from the year before. They're probably not going to be favored in very many games this year. This was actually one of them they were favored. Another one, sorry, Miami was favored by three. So, of course, they cover and Miami just looked amazing. 41 to 17, I know it was kind of close early. I had to blame down the crowd a lot of times. A crowd will keep the team in a game a little bit longer than the team can actually stay in the game themselves. The crowd can only do so much. And like I said, I'm a big Cam Ward fan. I've talked very highly of him. In the off season, I said that is my, you know, Heisman, the guy I'm rooting for and the Heisman, the guy that I put money on. And I told you I loved Xavier. Ooh, sorry, Xavier Striple. Big fan of him, he's going to be Cam Ward's best friend. Cam Ward has that gunslinger mentality. I love how upright he is. I like his mobility. He does make bad decisions at times, but that is a gunslinger. You know, think about, of course, Patrick Mahomes and Brett Favre. Guys that just wing it kind of have weird arm angles at the same time. They will risk it for the biscuit every once in a while. I like that, but you got to know when to risk it. But this is a very good team with Florida State taking his step back. You know, it's Miami's and Georgia Tech and even a Clemson. It's not every day that the two teams that were presumed to win their conference, start 0 and 3. You know, Florida State 0 and 2 and Clemson 0 and 1 to start the season. It's like, "Ooh, Georgia Tech and Miami are up there now." And same with the Boston College as well. So yeah, good game for Miami Florida Hurricanes. I told you this was a welcome to college football. Welcome to the limelight, Cam Ward type game. And I hope you guys pay attention to him going forward. Over and down, this one, by the way, is 54 and 1/2, so it ends up being an over. Moving on, this is another 230 kick on ESPN. This is Colorado State going to Austin, Texas to play the fourth ranked Texas Longhorns. Texas, you know, just does what they do. 52 to 0 beats the breaks off Colorado State. I wanted to see Colorado State because I know they have Colorado in two weeks. And I wanted to see if Texas can come out and just play four quarters of football in the first couple of games of the season. I watched Texas last year, and they kind of, yeah, a couple of games at the first of the year. You know, lead, he used to hang in with them. Let a rice be seven points within them at halftime. I wanted to see, are y'all a true top five team? Blow out an inferior opponent, leave, no doubt. And they did. Good win, Texas was favored by 32 and 1/2. Over on their own, this one was 59 and 1/2, so it ends up being an under. Good win, not talking shit about the Texas Longhorns. I've said it before. If they are contending in the SEC Championship in a couple of months, I would not be surprised. It's a very good team, all four or five star guys, and they are going for the SEC year one. You know, leaving the big 12, their last year, winning yet, and then turning around and winning the SEC in their first year. That's unprecedented. And Texas has the ego, the players, the coaches, the skill to do it. So definitely we'll be talking, of course, about the SEC's Longhorns here pretty soon again. Four o'clock kick on ESPN, this was the North, Texas Mean Green, going to South Alabama to play the Jaguars, I wanna say. I had this one, I know this was a weird game, this was one of those weird games I always throw in there, but it always sticks out to me. I go through the list and I go, man, that might be a really good game. I liked North Texas, which they end up beating, South Alabama, 52 to 38. A really big blowout, the opposite way that I saw. South Alabama was actually favored by five and a half, so, and this was an upset, technically. This North Texas team, who ends up, does go to, love it, Texas here in a couple of weeks, and worries me a little bit. Like I said, South Alabama has one of those high flying offenses. Apparently, North Texas does, too. This is a good, show me game for North Texas, 'cause like I said, they were not favored. Over on the, under on this one, 65 and a half, so it ends up being an over, you know, with a huge 90 point barrage on the scoreboard. Good win for North Texas for the Mean Green, like I said, that's a really good win, kind of worries me a little bit in the next couple of weeks. 6 p.m. kickoff on ESPN, this is Western Kentucky, going down to Tuscaloosa and Bryan Dadey Stadium. To play the Alabama Crimson tie, the fifth ranked team in the country, and of course the fifth ranked team in the country, beat the brakes off WKU, 63 to zero, threw this one out there, 'cause I kinda, not very high on Alabama. Am I kinda rethinking that right now? Possibly, they get the best recruits in the game. I know Kevin DeBore is a dude, a very good coach. He's going to do good things in Alabama, but with a team like this, you should beat a Western Kentucky bad. You should beat him 63 to zero. I wanna see what he does against at Georgia or at Texas, at Tennessee, you know, I know he doesn't play Texas this year, but I wanna see if that Tuscaloosa lore is enough, you know, is big enough for Kevin DeBore, if he has the big enough shoes to fit, those who really huge, you know, size 20-something shoes that Nick Saban has, that, you know, one of the four or five national championships at Alabama, so I take guesses every single year, Alabama can go 12 and 0, and it wouldn't surprise me, but like I said, I had a feeling that they're coming off, but they still could. This was a good game for them though, 63 and nothing. Bama's favored by 31 and a half, of course. They easily covered, over on this one is 59 and a half. And of course, that wasn't over. 6.30 kick on NBC. This was Fresno State Bulldogs going to the big house to play the ninth ring. Michigan Wolverines and Michigan eeks out of win 30 to 10. Nice little 20 point win. Michigan was favored by 21 and a half though, so if you took Fresno State plus 21 and a half, you got the dub over and down. This one was 45 and a half, Michigan struggled. This was the one I actually called. I had this one on here for a reason, 'cause I had a feeling Michigan comes out a little lackluster. Fresno State comes out a little more hot, a little more hair on fire type style, throwing everything with the kitchen sink at the Michigan Wolverines. This is a new-ish team. A of course, new first year head coach, true first year head coach and Sean Moore. I still think Michigan can take steps back as well. Big 10 is stronger as well. So I want to see Michigan in the next couple of weeks. Good 20 point win though, could have been an upset, but they still do the job. Moving on, 6.30 on ABC. This was definitely one of the biggest games of the day. This was the seventh right Notre Dame fighting Irish. Going down to Kyle Field to play the Texas A&M Aggies and the gold hats get the win 23 to 13, nice 10 point win over Texas A&M. And I just found this out today. Texas A&M is one in nine when college game day rolls into Aggieland. So keep that in mind, if there's A&M wins a couple more games in the next couple of weeks and maybe college game day thinks about going there or maybe even next year. If it got college game day goes to A&M bet against A&M, remember that. They just look like the better team though, Notre Dame. Like I said, I knew more about Notre Dame than I did Texas A&M. Looked like Texas A&M hung in there for a while, but I think that was a crowd. Over 100,000 fans can fit in Kyle Field. A lot of them are rocking, man. But Notre Dame, I think has it. I'm kind of reconsidering, not putting them as that 12 seed or could be an 11 seed you never know, especially with Notre Dame being a seventh ranked team in the country. This isn't the Notre Dame last year that kind of stumbled out of the gate. This is a very tough team. And I think this showed me a lot against the very good SEC team in A&M. All right, moving on. Oh yeah, and by the way, A&M was favored in this game by two and a half. So of course they don't cover under, over on this one was 46 and a half. So it ends up being in under seven o'clock kick on ESPNU. This was the JMU Dix. This is a team that I think wins that illustrious 12 seed. It could be an 11 seed you never know, but this is a greater five non-power four guy. This is my team, the JMU Dix. Going to Charlotte to play the 49ers, they win 30 to seven. JMU was favored by seven over under on this one, 61 and a half. Didn't get a chance to watch this game just 'cause I was already locked in. I'm not just a tech graderators, went to a watch party for sure. Popped some tops, had some nachos, pizza, you know, a whole lot of goody goods. So had a really good time, but I didn't get to watch this good win for JMU. 9.30 kick on FS1. This was the Wyoming Cowboys. Going down to, is it Tempe? Oh, I don't know. Arizona State, sorry, the Sun Devils. And the Sun Devils, get the blowout. Went 48 to seven. This was a headscotcher for me. I was very high on Wyoming this year. Very low on Arizona State. Things can very much change. Any given time, this doesn't necessarily show me a whole lot about Arizona State. Doesn't necessarily show me a whole lot about Wyoming either. Arizona State was favored in this game by six and a half. Of course, they cover that easily over under on this one, 47 and a half, so it ends up being an over. Just shocking. I figured this was gonna be a back and forth type game. Like I said, was high on Wyoming, not as high as Arizona State. And now I am. My butt is puckering our non-conference schedule for my Texas State Grid Raiders. Isn't looking as easy as I thought it was two weeks ago. Struggled with ACU on Saturday. Had to go into overtime to win it. We have to go to Pullman to play Washington State, a team that's gonna love to kick our butt. We come home to play the North Texas Mean Green, who just beat up on, let's see here. South Alabama with the Jaguars. And then we turn around. I think we have Arizona State the Week after that. So we cannot lose a step anytime soon, but good win for the Big 12. I love that as well, especially in the new edition. Moving on, this is the last game I told you guys about. And this ended up being one of the best games of the whole weekend. You had LSU and USC and Las Vegas. This was actually like I said Sunday. This was just yesterday at 6.30 on ABC. And USC wins 27 to 20. LSU was favored by four and a half. Of course, they were the higher seed. I wanna say that they were like 14. And USC was 21st. I can't remember. I don't have it row down here. But the higher seed gets the upset here. LSU was favored by four and a half, sorry. Over and under on this one was 63 and a half. So it ends up being an under. Great game. One of the best catches in the year happened here. Can't tell you his name, but I like another monster USC quarterback. Makes me feel bad that I talked about LSU and didn't talk about USC. USC kind of changed a lot of people's thought with this game. Usually USC plays a traditional SEC style. You know, big, you know, physical type team that just kind of wants to instill their will on them. USC has been kind of labeled soft over the past so many years. That they get into these games and then they just kind of get manhandled by a bigger, stronger, faster SEC program. And it just shows me I am eating my words on USC. Of course, not going to completely eat what I've said about USC. Of course, I didn't talk real ill of USC either. I'm just not the biggest fan of them. I just think they're kind of overrated. I think Lincoln Riley is kind of overrated. They lost a whole lot of players last year. I thought that we're going to lose this game too as well. But it shows me more about Lincoln Riley than it shows me about Brian Kelly. I'm not real high on him either. I think he's too much of an old school guy. The Mac Browns and Nick Saban's of the world are all, you know, walking off into the sunset. That mean old school being scared of your head coach days are starting to go by the wayside. There's more player, you know, style coaches in the game nowadays. So this I just found that very interesting. Good win though makes LSU season turn real hard and then USC, your first year in the Big Ten, you're on a great start. You beat one of the best SEC teams in the country, absolutely. Couple of bonus games, of course, you know, upset some scores that made me scratch my head, you know, rub my chin, so on and so forth. Vanderbilt, any SEC versus ACC versus ACC matchup against Virginia Tech, get the upset over the Hokies. Who would have called that? I talked so much about Vanderbilt so often. So I am here saying if you're a Vanderbilt Commodore fan, I am so sorry. I am apologizing, I am bowing down to you as well. And I'm looking at you Virginia Tech and I'm, I was super high on you. And I said, if it's not going to be Clemson, it was not going to be Florida State. It was not going to be Miami or North Carolina. It could be you Virginia Tech and then you go out and lose to one of the worst SEC teams out there. Thank you so much, Hokies. That just showed me you're not the real tech Texas Techies. But, you know, good land for Randy. I could probably, I can shoot them up so far, but they're in the SEC, you know, they're going to get to the season, Bama's and LSU's and Texas's and, you know, all these other great schools, the Georgia's and the world every single week for their whole nine week, you know, conference schedule. They're not going to give them any slouches, so, but great win. Like I said, that could be a catapults on them. You know, you never know. Boise State and Georgia Southern. Boise State wins 56 to 45. I was very, this one was a head scratching one. I, Georgia Southern hung up 45 on Boise State, but also Ashton, Ashton, Wanty. Rush for 267 yards and six touchdowns for Boise State. So, you know, I talked about all the Gordon, Tolic Brooks, some of the best running backs in the game. I got to throw Ashton John T in there with 267 rushing yards and six touchdowns. I mean, six touchdowns in one game for running back is outrageous. Definitely up there as one of the best performances of all time, congrats to the Boise State Broncos. UNLV beat the Houston Cougars 27 to 7. I nailed this one as well. I'm not high on Houston. I think Houston's one of the worst big 12 programs. He gives a big 12 a black eye, absolutely. And can give UNLV that pump up that they need. It reminds me of Wyoming, Texas Tech last year. Kind of the same thing. Greater five, nine power 14 beats a big boy. Not necessarily a big boy quote unquote, but a big boy conference. And it could pump you up. You know, you can play with a little bit more swagger, a little bit more confidence. So, good luck to the UNLV Rebels going forward. The University of Oregon, the third ranked team in the country, beat the Idaho Vandals 24 to 14, a 10 point win. If you took Idaho and the points, you got yourself an upset there. Oregon looked a little off. You know, I saw a couple of plays, Idaho pulled and just kind of, you know, I was like, Yeesh, you know, that's not real good for Oregon. Of course, they could turn around. They could beat somebody 77, there's nothing next week. And this will all be forgotten. But that's just always, it's always happens every year. Someone comes out and blows out somebody else, but sometimes they come out and get upset. IE at four to stay. And then IE, this game, a top five team, just kind of doesn't look the part. Maybe the pressure is there. Maybe Idaho played with their hats on fire. You know, it happens every year. Moving on, University of Arizona, the 21st team in the country, beat New Mexico 61 to 39. And like I talked about Boise State, we have the receiver of the week in Tataria McMillan, talked about him in my Heisman's show. This is a dude. He caught 10 balls for 304 yards and four touchdowns. If that doesn't get you play to the week, don't know what to say. You know, if it ain't him or Ash and John T. I don't know what to tell you. It's just a great stat line. I told you, Noah, for feet at him are going to have a great year together. They remind me of Cam Ward and Restrepo in the big 12 now with Arizona. So I've got to watch out for those guys for sure. They're on our schedule as well. And then of course, to wrap up week one, we got the Boston College Eagles coached by Bill O'Brien, by the way, did not know that. I've set Florida State at home in, you know, Seminole Land with an Osceola, you know, their horse chief something and Osceola, I want to say is their name is. And since Florida State to 0 and 2, and just a down bat, DJ Ugalalele is looking like shit. This was a, oh, don't forget a couple of years ago, two, three years ago. This was a highly touted quarterback, a four or five star guy, a national, you had a number next to him. He was a quote unquote blue chip, goes to Clemson, don't work out there. Can't remember where he went. Oh yeah, he went to Oregon State, didn't work out there. Maybe it is you, bud. That's why I don't like the transfer portal. I'm looking at you dealing with Gabriel as well. Maybe it's you, bud. Oregon State's not a bad program. Clemson's not a bad program. And he had Florida State, he got some dues. And now you're not performing. There's something fishy going on there in Seminole Land. So I want to kind of see what that, how that goes in the next couple of weeks as well. You never know, might no real could get fired, even though I said he's like super safe. So anyway, like I said, shows exactly what I know and it shows exactly what I don't know, right? All right, let's get into the second part of the show guys. This is the week two preview show. Then don't worry, this isn't going to happen every single week. It's just with this coming up week, the start of NFL. We have all of these other VJs and of course, the guys, you know, Mr. Ritter and Mr. Minifil, they're throwing their shows out there as well. I didn't want to clog up two spots when we still got grim, we still got goose, we got Mr. Howard Poole. It was just, it's just gonna be too congested. So I'm just congesting this show today. And then starting next week, we will go back to normal. It'll be a Sunday, Monday time period when I drop the review show and then it'll be a Wednesday, Thursday time when I dropped a preview show. So everything will go back to normal next week, I promise. Week two is a doozy. Just so you know, some really great games. I probably could have gave you guys 15 or so games, but I want to kind of limit it, but I also don't want to throw too many games into one time period as well. I don't want to say four 11A and kickoff games. And have you guys flipping all over the place, trying to watch every single one of them. I get some of the good ones in each time zone and even some later games. Just so I give you football to watch all day long on Saturday. Let's start it off, all right. Let's see here, 11 o'clock on ABC. This is a Big 12 versus SEC matchup. This is the Arkansas Razorbacks going to the 17th rank Oklahoma State Cowboys. By the way, these numbers next to these teams that I'm telling you guys for week two is probably going to change, especially like Florida State. Some of these numbers are going to change, but I'm doing it early in the week. So if I say right now, Oklahoma State's ranked 17th and I end up being 16th or 18th, don't get mad at your boy. And I'm also doing these spreads a little early as well. So don't get mad when the spread changes and the over under changes as well. I'm doing it as of right now. Of course, it's going to change, but starting next week, things will get back to normal. The numbers next to teams will not change. That usually comes into effect on Mondays and Tuesdays. So I'll have that all fixed. And like I said, this is just a weird week. Just throwing it out there, let's move on. Like I said, Arkansas is going to still water to play the Oklahoma State Cowboys ranked 17th in the country. Oklahoma State is favored by seven and a half. Over under is 62 and a half. This could be a very good game. Anytime Big 12 plays SCC, 75% of the time Big 12 loses. I think Arkansas can walk in too still watered. I think Oklahoma State kind of struggled. I want to say with South somebody, the Jackaloup, South Dakota State, I want to say. And Arkansas blew out somebody. Of course, that's a showing of who they played. Can Arkansas walk in there? Absolutely. Oklahoma State could be the Florida State of the Big 12. Just go out and lose. Games that they're not supposed to lose too. So don't be surprised. Arkansas gets upset. Oklahoma State's only favored by seven and a half. Over under on this one, 62 and a half. So they're giving Arkansas a little bit of love. There's not a two, it's not a double digit spread there. All right, we're staying still at the 11 AM bracket. This one's on Fox. This is probably the game of the week. I do believe that's where game day is going to be. It is the fourth ranked Texas Longhorns taking Austin up to the big house to play the ninth ranked Michigan Wolverines. Texas is favored by seven and a half. Over under on this one is 43 and a half. Huge game, huge game. This is SEC versus Big 10. Everybody says, excluding myself. Those are the two best conferences in all of college football. This is going to have playoff admirations. This is going to be a game that you're going to talk about at the end of the year when you talk about a Michigan, or you talk about a Texas being a potential one of 11 spots to get any college football playoff. Texas goes up there and gets drove by Michigan Wolverines. That game is going to be talked about. I promise you, if it's a very good close win by Texas, you will talk about that as well. This has very huge implications on both teams this season. Absolutely, and I don't have a dog in the fight. I absolutely hate both of these teams. I hope this ends in a tie. I actually hope that this game doesn't get finished to be perfectly honest with you. Double J texted me and asked me who would I root for. I can't root for either one of them. Me being a Texas Tech fan and an Ohio State fan. Those are our biggest rivals, and I can't root for either one of them. So like I said, will I watch it? Absolutely, I'll definitely tune into it, but I ain't pulling for either one. So yeah, there's that. Like I said, Texas is favored by seven and a half. Over and around, this one's 53 and a half. And you get to watch Joe Klatt and what's his name? I can't Gus Johnson, man. That's some of the best commentators in the game. I love the Fox 11 AM broadcast team. So tune into that, 11 AM on Fox, Texas and Michigan. Moving on, we got another 11 AM kickoff. This one's on ESPN though. This is the 18th ranked Kansas State Wildcats. Taking a trip down to Louisiana to play the Tulane Green Wave. I ain't forgot about your Tulane. I know I'm talking about the JMU's and the Boise States and the Notre Dame's. I ain't forgot about your Tulane. This is your chance to make everybody pay attention to you right here, right now. I did predict you guys to win and your schedule breakdowns in both Kansas State and Tulane. Tulane's favored, I'm sorry, Kansas State is favored, sorry. By nine and a half, very disrespectful member, but it's also a very respectable member. If this was 10 and a half, that's kind of disrespectful. They are giving Tulane a little bit of love. Over on her on this one's 49 and a half. Like I said, do not be surprised if this is an upset. If Tulane pulls it off, Kansas State is one of those teams. You talk about them in the early in the year. You talk about them in the offseason that this team could win their conference, but look at Florida State. We are who they, we thought. We didn't think who they thought they were, however you want to call it, man. It's very interesting. Call it football is unpredictable, man. It is nuts, it's crazy. Crazy shit happens every single day. Don't be surprised, but I think this should be a good game. I don't think Kansas State blows out Tulane at all. All right, moving on. We're in the 230 kick-aff area. This one is on CBS. This is the battle for the Cyhawk Trophy. This is Iowa State taking a trip to Kennick Stadium to pay the 25th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes. Great game, great rivalry game. I love having a rivalry game early in the season. I.E. that Miami hurricanes versus the Gators game. You know, that just happened a couple of days ago. I love a good rivalry game early in the year. This one's not going to be any different. Iowa owns Iowa State lately, but I'm high on Iowa State as well. I love the Kennick Wave. I'm a big fan of that, so tune into this. 230 on CBS, Iowa's favored by two and a half. Over and under on this one is 35 and a half. So if you want to see, you know, two just brawlers going at each other and some pretty good defense being out there and just a 21 to 24 type game, 17 to 20 type game, you want to see that. Just the old school style football. Tune into 30 on CBS, Iowa State and Iowa for the Psyhawk trophy. This one's another 230 kick on Fox. This is the Baylor Bears, taking a trip to Rice Echo Stadium to pay the 12th ranked Utah Ute. Probably saying CM, you're not I on Baylor. You've said that Baylor's probably not going to have a good year. This is a show me game for Utah. Baylor's going to come out like a North Texas. They're going to come out like some of these teams that aren't necessarily favored and just kind of play loose, play relaxed, play like an ACU in Lubbock, Texas. You ain't got nothing to lose. Just go open up the book, just go ape shit. Let's make the, you know, the preseason hyped up Utah Ute's. Let's make them get tight. Let's make them make mistakes. Utah is favored by 14 and a half, not surprising. Over and under on this one's 53 and a half. Could be a good game. You never know. Like I said, I've talked ill will of Baylor. This is a show me game for Baylor. And this is a welcome to the big 12 moment for Baylor as well. And just like in this for Utah, you know, you talking step in there and go, all right, it's my first big 12 game. I get a lesser opponent. And Baylor keeps it tight on you. You, you go man, what are we going to do when we play Oklahoma State? Well, we're going to play case state, you know, so on and so forth. And I was like, oh shit. This conference is a lot tougher than we thought. All right, moving on. 3 p.m. kick on ESPNU. This is another one of those games that you may not watch. You may not have the channel. But this is going to be a doozy. This one is the UTSA running rebels, I want to say. No, the road runners. Yeah, road runners, sorry. Going to San Marcos to play the Texas State Bobcats. I want to say, this is AAC versus Sunbelt, you know, greater five, non-power four, little match up. This is starting to be a little rivalry game too, is what I'm hearing. You know, Texas bragging rights, though you don't think that both of these teams want to go undefeated and be that, you know, 12th seed in the college football playoff, you have to mind. This could be two teams that win their respective conferences as well. I know I've talked about UTSA and I know I've talked about Texas State, so it could be a great game. Texas State's favored by one and a half. So that tells you right there that this is an equal, you know, two teams that are pretty neck and neck, you know, about the same overall, you know, score so on and so forth. Over on there on this one too is 64 and a half. So they're expecting a barn burner type shoot out, so what else could you want? If you got ESPNU, 3 o'clock, UTSA at Texas State. 6.30 kick on ABC. This is another ranked on ranked match up. This is the 15th ranked Tennessee volunteers going to play the 24th ranked NC State Wolf Pack. This is ACC versus SEC. A great, great game on paper. I love it. Tennessee's favored by seven and a half. Over on there on this one, 60 and a half. I want to see NC State host a big boy. I want to see Don. I want to see their coach. Hey, this is your chance. This is also-- it's a hard place to play as well, but Tennessee's not going to be scared. Tennessee's one of those teams that has one of the best home-filled advantages in all college football and rocky top. They don't mind going to a hard place and playing and winning. They don't mind having the whole crowd against them. They have a great quarterback too. I wish I had the paper in front of me. I do not want to put his name. I owe out a tough-- you know, you got it, you got it. Had a great game for Tennessee too, man. So it should be a great game. Tennessee's favored by seven and a half. Like I said, over and under, or 60 and a half. So it could be a great game. Another 6.30 kick. This one's on NBC, though. This is the Colorado Buffalo's led by Coach Prime. Going to the Cornhusker State to play the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Nebraska's favored by seven and a half. Over and under on that one is 57 and a half. Definitely going to be tuning into this one if I ain't taking a nap, absolutely. I think this is a step up in weight class for both teams. I'm not real sure who Nebraska beat up on the minors. Yeah, I want to say it was UTEP. And Colorado playing the FCS school and should have lost that game. I got Nebraska all day. And this one, is it because I hate Colorado? Yes, I think Nebraska's pretty good as well. It could be a knockout drag-out fight, but I'm not pulling for the big 12 on this one. Absolutely not. Can't stay in the Colorado Buffalo's. Nine o'clock kick on Peacock. So if you've had that streaming service, Peacock, here is a game for you guys. This is the Boise State Broncos. Taking a trip to Oregon to play the third ranked Dutts. You're probably saying C.M., damn. You got this one on there? Absolutely. Oregon's favored by 19 and a half. Over and under on this one is 61 and a half. I think Boise State with that rushing attack, as Sean Johnty can keep Oregon's high-flying offense off the field and keep Oregon tight. Remember Oregon only beat Idaho 24 to 14. A team that is predicted to contend with Ohio State in the big 10. You always go 24 points against Idaho, week one. Boise State comes in there, man. This is a better matchup than a lot of experts think. I'll be surprised that this is an upset right here, but also don't be surprised that this is the game. Oregon plays exactly how Oregon's supposed to play, but I see potential upset. I see a potential close game, and I can see a potential blowout. Not for, of course, Boise State, but just an interesting game. This is one of those Mickey C games. So like I said, that is nine o'clock on Peacock. The Boy State Broncos at the Oregon Dutts should be a very visually appeasing game too. I like that blue and orange combo with Boise State, especially they like to use metallics as well and pearls and cool colors in their jerseys and outfits. And then you've got, of course, Oregon. They're going to pull out something cool. So it could be a very visually appeasing game as well if you want a little orgasm for your eyes. All right, moving on. Second to last game, this one's a nine o'clock kick as well. This one comes on Fox. This is my Texas Tech Red Raiders. Took you any trip to Pullman to play the Wazoo Cougars. This is big 12 versus Pac 12. This could be potentially, yeah, potentially, potentially, potentially, whatever, fuck off. Two teams that could play conference games against each other. It was to say, Pac 12 just crumbles Oregon State and Washington State go somewhere. Wouldn't mind if they joined the big 12. I don't think the Pac 12 wants to suck in all these littler schools and make the Pac 12 bigger. But then again, I don't know. Very head scratching game to me as well. Wazoo's favored by one and a half over under on this one is 65 and a half, so predicting a little bit scoring. Very worrisome for my Texas Tech Red Raiders. We did not play well on the road last year. Hell, we did not play a good at home last week. We led a community college, a Christian community college. Hang up half a hundred on this, so very interesting. I don't know what I'm gonna do, and it's a late game. So I'm gonna have to take a nap at some point in time. Nine o'clock kickoff is very late for me, but I'm up that late anyway, so I really don't matter. So I, of course, I'm picking my Red Raiders. I want them to play well. I really do, but this is a trap game for me, absolutely. Last game I got for you guys. This is a 930 kick on ESPN. This is the Mississippi State Bulldogs at the SEC, taking a trip to Arizona State, the Sun Devils at the big 12th. If it wasn't for Arizona State, beating Wyoming the week before, I wouldn't have put them in here. I think this is another potential upset, but it says here, Arizona State's favored by six and a half over under on this one, 59 and a half, so I'm leaning, but the other way. I'm leaning towards the SEC. But then again, what do I know, right? Arizona State can start to year two and a half, and I predicted them to finish towards the bottom half of the big 12th. That's football's crazy, man. Like I said, as much as I know, I don't know. Oh, it's the same frickin' time, man. There you go, guys. That was the week zero, week one review show, and then of course the week two preview show. Crazy, and that's, man. Like I said, guys, you can't predict some of this stuff. If you bet on college football, I would say don't listen to C.M. half the time. Am I gonna get some stuff right? Not sure. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while, but I'm not going to give you guy, hey, you should bet on this. Hey, you never know, I might get that just random hair at my ass and I go, hey, watch out for this game. Like, this could be an upset, yeah. But I don't ever take what I say to heart. Take everything I say with a grain of salt. I'm just here to entertain you, guys, man. Give you potentially great games. Give you a potential upset. Like I said, college football's so hard to predict. You never know what's gonna happen any given Saturday, Thursday, Sunday, Monday. Hell, you never know. So big shout out to you guys. Thank you so much. Good shout outs to all the countries out there. I haven't shouted you guys out in a while. Big ups to Portugal and Canada, India, Ireland, Morocco, Poland, Germany, Australia, Ecuador, Myanmar, France, the U.K., Venezuela, Haiti, Indonesia, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, Gambia, Turkey, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Peru, Mexico, Slovakia, Uganda, Israel, New Zealand, Italy, Lithuania, Belgium, Brazil, Estonia, España, and of course, if you're in the great United States of America. From Maine to Florida, to Oregon, to Montana, to Louisiana, to New Mexico. You're in the great state of Texas, baby, where the stars at night are big and bright. I cannot thank you guys enough, so much. We are here, we are in it now. We dipped our toes into week zero and week one. We're up to our ankles and some people hear kinkles. (laughs) We're here, baby. Like I said, hopefully dropping two shows a week. Expect it Sunday, Monday for the review, for the week before, and then later in the week. Get you ready for the upcoming games coming on that weekend. It's here, baby. No more filler. It is week two coming up, you guys. I hope you guys enjoyed all that college football. From the Grimm texting me, man. He watched college football all weekend. I know how I did, too. Your boy, Mike Ritter, texted me. He was like, man, I watched so much college football. I don't know how you do it, and it's hard. You guys think that I just write these games down. I have to keep track of all this. I have to keep track of all the scorers who wins right down a certain person that I was kind of looking at. I'll kind of do more of that as the season goes along. I was just still trying to get back on that bike. That is the review/preview shows, but I think I'll be back to normal next week for sure. Thank you guys so much. Please get the Patreon app. Pay that dollar coming up on 56 minutes. I'm probably going to do 30/30, review/preview show. So an hour a week, it won't change from the off season with one show a week, and it was an hour long. Now it'll be two shows a week, 30 minutes long, short, and sweet to the, but then again, I'm off the cup. I'm not exactly the most normal guy in the world. I'm very out there and very different. I'm very extroverted. I am what I am. You never know what you get, but see, I'm going to be perfectly honest with you. At least you know, hey, you're going to get entertained. And that's all I can ever ask. You know, am I going to be wrong on things? It might be right on things. Sure, but as long as you're entertained, maybe that's all I can ever ask for. So big shout out to the boys at the football function, Mr. Ritter, Mr. Turning Men of Fields. That's what Grim, you know, helping out, of course, from the opposite and doing his thing now for us in the upcoming NFL season. Then you got Goose as well, going to help us out as well again. And then of course, Howard Poole joining that, you know, crowded, you know, dinner table, that is the football function brand. But if you ask Mike, he said this was something he's definitely been thinking about, something that he's been striving for. When he started this, you know, football function brand a couple of years ago that he wants to cover every single area of football. And hopefully I'm doing my thing with college football. And I hope you guys are enjoying it as well. And like I said, just promote us. I mean, that's all I can do, you know, get the Patreon app, pay that dollar a month, get these ads, you know, ads. Get these shows ad-free. You know, you don't want me talking about Oregon State or Florida Gators, and then here. Some crappy ad, you know, in the middle of my rant on something or others. So we're gonna say get that Patreon app if you listen to on the other sites, you know, Podcaster and all those other places. I'm not mad at you, Spotify, someone and so forth, Amazon. My heart radio, I need knockin' on you guys at all. Just promote us, send our show to a family member, to a friend, playin' on a work site, playin' at the gym. Do what you can, you know, especially if you feel like this guy that does the college football is a stooge. And you should hear this dumbass talk out of his ass for an hour. I don't mind that at all, is either, you know, there's no such thing as that publicity in my honest opinion. So as long as I entertain you guys, that's all I can ever ask for. So big ups to all the family and friends as well. Andy LaFawn, you know, my cousin, if it wasn't for Andy LaFawn, there'd be no CM, of course, Sean, some more are the guy that hopefully he'll be on, you know, the football function every once in a while, helping out the boys with the pros. And of course, like I said, Graham and Howard, Kevin Watson, K.G., Big John, Elvis Escobar, Detroit Kyle, DJ Falcon, Kuzmo, all you guys, and my close family, Bell and Joe, and Big Drew, Drew, Rich, Pops, Matt, Gary, and some of you guys. But listen, I appreciate you guys so much, but like I said, I just wanna make you guys proud. And I want at the end of the show to go, I feel, I feel good. You know, you feel good with what CM is giving you. Just get you guys ready, 'cause that's all I can ever do. Just make you guys proud throughout the all-out all options and so on and so forth. So, that being said, you guys take care. God bless, take care of yourself. Remember to always be good people. I know who you are, know who you serve, know who you're going, know what to do when you get there. All right, God bless you, God take care. CM loves you, record today. (upbeat music) [BLANK_AUDIO]
