Today, we're honoring the beauty of nature and appreciating the dedication of an early morning tradition. Our planet is home to an incredible array of wildlife. Each species playing a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystems. From majestic eagles soaring above to tiny and set vital for our pollination, wildlife enriches our world in countless ways. Protecting these creatures and their habitats is essential for our planet's health and future. So let's take a moment today to appreciate and advocate for the animals that share our world because it's National Wildlife Day. You know, I was in Las Vegas as, you know, just a little bit ago and I went to the sphere and they have that postcard that's from the edge. Yeah. Oh my goodness, the wildlife is unbelievable in that. It felt like you were there with the elephants marching by and the little insects. Oh my goodness, it was incredible. Yeah, it's such an amazing thing. It really is. Now think back to a time when the morning paper was a primary source of news for households across the country. Newspaper carriers, often young people starting their first jobs with a backbone of this daily ritual. They bring up early mornings and all kinds of weather to ensure that the latest headlines reach your doorstep. This role, while less visible today due to digital news, was once a vital part of community life, connecting neighbors with the world at large. Today, we honor the history and dedication of these unsung heroes because it's National Newspaper Carrier Day. Johnny, four weeks, 20 papers. That's $2 plus tip. Are you a newspaper way back in the day? I was and I have a quick story. So we used to collect money, actually green stuff, right? And there was a, you had a whole punch and you'd punch like January or February and it was a cold January day and I punched somebody's card because they paid for it and I put that punch in my mouth and it was so cold that that punch stuck to my tongue. That's how dedicated I was. That is funny. Well, we appreciate you, Marlo. Thank you for your dedication. I'm Latoye Johnson. I'm Marloe Anderson. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. Until next time, keep celebrating. I used to sell and deliver grit. Remember that? I wonder if they still publish grit around the neighborhood when I was a kid. All right, now part of our celebration segment here. It's the birthday club and I have four names for September 4th. Well, that worked out. Ronald Sizemore, Cheryl Stirling, Jacob Shreve and Debbie Hurd in Stonewall. Happy birthday to all of you today. Cheryl Stirling, Jacob Shreve, Ronald Sizemore and Debbie Hurd. Okay, that's it for today. Now, I'm taking names for the 5th, 6th and 7th for this week. I'll have the 5th tomorrow, Friday, 6th and 7th and I'm taking names, of course, for the rest of September and all of October. Get those names to me at 336-932-1881. You can text them anytime. I'll add them to our birthday club. I'll announce them and then you'll be eligible for our giveaway at the end of the week. 932-1881. Yes, that's our number. Now, some big name birthdays, Beyonce, 43, Tom Watson, 75, Dr. Drew Pinsky, 66. In our music spotlight today, we remember James Darren, actor. He was in a lot of TV shows, singer, teen idol and moon doggy in the Gidget Surfer films with Sandra D starting in 1959 and the TV show in the mid-1960s that launched the career of actress Sally Field. James Darren released more than a dozen albums. She acts sort of teenage just in between age, looks about four foot three. Although she's just small fried, just about so high, Gidget is the one for me. A regular tomboy, but dressed for a prom, boy how cute can one girl be? Although she's not king size, her finger is ring size, Gidget is the one for me. If she says she loves you, you can bet your boots. She loves you if she says she hates you, that can also mean she loves you. It very well maybe she's just a baby speaking romantically. If that's a that feature, I'll be the teacher, Gidget is the one for me. [Music] She's not much on glamour, and she shouldn't prove her grammar. Still I sigh and stammer, and my heart beats like a little old hammer strictly from Dixie, face like a pixie, shorter than girl should be. The rest of the shipment, standard equipment, just a doll in dungaree. The Gidget is the one for me. Chances are you. Chances are you probably won't hear that song anywhere else today. Glad to share that with you on our program. Now today's motivational moment, thanks to Livingstone Wealth Management, Raymond James in Madison. Train your mind to see the good in everything. Positivity is choice. The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. That's today's program. Thank you for listening friends. Have a wonderful Wednesday. Be sure to count your blessings today. [BLANK_AUDIO]
