Obituaries for Friday, August 30, Betty Langston Martin, 89 of Eden, died Wednesday. Grayside services are tomorrow at 11 at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends this evening at Boone and Cook Funeral Home from six until eight, and other times at 6-12 Young Road in Stonewall. She was born in Palestine, Illinois, was a graduate of Palestine High School and worked at Western Union. Then at Philcrest Cannon for 30 years as a secretary and supervisor. She was a member of Floyd Baptist Church, surviving our children Ricky L. Martin and Sheila of Stonewall, James Roy, Jimmy Martin and Tiana, and Tammy M. Allen and Gary of Eden. Five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and siblings Roger and Bob Langston. She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Stafford A. Martin. The family thanks all caregivers and encora nurses. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to encora compassionate care or Floyd Christian School.
