Today we're soaking up the sun and enjoying a classic campfire treat. Let's dive into National Beach Day. If you live near the coast, or plan a special trip, the beach offers a perfect escape from the everyday hustle. Waves crashing, the salty breeze, and the warm sun make for an ideal setting to relax and recharge. Beaches also provide a habitat for diverse ecosystems, so it's important to keep them clean and protected. Pack a picnic. Build sand castles are simply lounge with a good book. Whatever you do, take a moment to appreciate the natural beauty of our beaches today. Do you have fun, fun, fun, till we're getting to the river with fun, fun till we're getting to the river? So are you a beach bum? I am totally a beach bum. I'm from California. I love the beach. Last time I was in California, I think it was late 2017, I went down to La Jolla with the sea lions. That was the closest I've been to the beach in a long time. Oh my gosh. 2017? Yeah. Chris, we're going to the beach after this. This is insane. It's been too long. All right. I'm back in right now. And what's a beach day without indulging in some toasted marshmallows? It's National Toasted Marshmallow Day. This gooey golden treat has been a staple of campfires for generations. The marshmallow's origins can be traced back to ancient Egypt, where it was used as a remedy for sore throats and as a treat for royalty. Today, it's all about roasting them to perfection over an open flame, whether you enjoy them straight off the stick, sandwich, and some more, or mixed into a dessert, toasted marshmallows bring a sweet and nostalgic touch to any gathering. What are you doing? I'm preparing to toast a marshmallow and I'll be there a marshmallow. I absolutely love toasted marshmallows. They are great. On anything. On a s'more, on a pie, you name it. I love it. Chocolate. I chocolate. They're amazing. You know what? Pack some toasted marshmallows and all the ingredients for some s'mores in your bag so we can eat them at the beach. We'll do. All right. You ready? I'm ready. I'm Latoya Johnson. And I'm Chris Van Venter. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day.
