They're open every day, and it's a fun place to celebrate, too. Welcome to August 29th on the National Day Calendar. Today we're celebrating a month dedicated to a below sandwich and a day honoring a unique dish with a rich history. Did you know that August is national panini month? Paninis, the pressed and grilled Italian sandwiches, have become a favorite worldwide. Originating in Italy, paninis simply mean small bread or sandwich. The magic of panini lies in its versatility. Whether you prefer a classic combination of mozzarella, tomato, and basil, or something a little more adventurous like turkey, brie, and cranberry sauce, is a panini for every taste, literally every taste but. So, use this month as an opportunity to get creative in the kitchen and enjoy a delicious toasty panini. You ate my sandwich? It was a simple mistake. It could happen to anyone. Oh, really? Do you make paninis at home? I don't know. I don't have a panini maker. I've got a George Foreman grill. It does a fairly good job. I never thought about that. That's actually a really good idea. Yeah, I'm all about innovation. I think I'm going to try it. And speaking of innovation, it's National Chopsui Day. Today, we celebrate a dish that's a staple of American Chinese cuisine. Chopsui, which means assorted pizzas and Cantonese, was created in the late 19th century, likely by Chinese immigrants adapting their traditional cooking to available ingredients in America. It typically includes a mix of meat, vegetables, and a savory sauce, served over ricer noodles. Chopsui reflects the blending of cultures and the adaptability of culinary traditions. So why not enjoy a plate of this hearty and flavorful dish today? So, do you make Chopsui? You know, I've never made Chopsui. I do make a lot of different kind of Chinese dishes, like pepper steak or cashew chicken. But I've never tried making this. Mmm, you know what? I think today is the day. You should try it. All right, I'll go get the ingredients. Okay, I'll be over about 7.30. Okay, then. I love it. I love it to eat Johnson. And I'm Chris Van Daventer. Thank you for joining us on our journey to celebrate every day. And join us for all of our celebrations on Facebook and Instagram at Destination Celebration Show. Until next time, keep celebrating. All right, now let's see who's celebrating. On our birthday club for the 29th, Happy Birthday to Diane Harris, Carrie Pierce, Johnny Hamilton, and Naomi Tilly. Yep, it's your day today. In our music spot like we remember, Jeff Cook, a founding member of Alabama, born this week in 1949, died a couple of years ago of complications from Parkinson's disease. Here's one of Alabama's big hits, Jeff Cook, Unfiddle. Oh, play me some mountain music like grandma and grandpa used to play. Then I'll float on down the river to cage and light away. Rip away like Tom Sawyer, ride a raft with old Huck Finn. Take a nap like Rip and Winkle, this dream and again. Oh, play me some mountain music like grandma and grandpa used to play. Then I'll float on down the river to cage and light away. [Music] Swim across the river just to prove that I'm a man. Spend the day being lazy, just be a nature's friend. I'm a long tall hickering, bending over, skinning cats. Then baseball, shirt rocks, he's in sawmill slats for dance. [Music] Play some back home, come on music, that comes from heart. Play something with lots of feeling. Cause that's where music has to start. [Music] Oh, play me some mountain music like grandma and grandpa used to play. Then I'll float on down the river to cage and light away. [Music] Oh, play me now music, oh play me now music, oh play me now music, oh play me now music, oh play. [Music] Now today's motivational moment, thanks to Livingstone Wealth Management, Raymond James in Madison. Your mind is a powerful thing.
