New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be the subject of an upcoming Netflix documentary set to release in December, the streaming service announced Monday. The documentary called Aaron Rodgers Enigma will focus on Rodgers' rehab from the Achilles injury suffered in week one of the 2023 NFL season, just four plays into his Jets debut after the four-time NFL MVP was acquired via a blockbuster trade from the Green Bay Packers the previous offseason. A trailer for the documentary shows Rodgers giving a glimpse into how he breaks down defenses and decides which wide receivers to target on certain plays, and the quarterback even mentions former Packers teammate and current Fox Sports NFL analyst James Jones as an example of a wide receiver he would have more trust in in one-on-one situations. Also, in the clip, which seems to be filmed soon after he suffered the Achilles injury, Rodgers talks about various alternative and spiritual-based methods he hopes to implement in his recovery, including prayer. The trailer was released just hours before Rodgers returned to the football field for the Jets against his hometown San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California on Monday night. Ryan Reynolds here for, I guess, my 100th mint commercial. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Honestly, when I started this, I thought I'd only have to do like four of these. I mean, it's unlimited premium wireless for $15 a month. How are there still people paying two or three times that much? I'm sorry, I shouldn't be victim blaming here. Give it a try at midmobile.com/save whenever you're ready. $45 up from payment equivalent to $15 per month, new customers on first three-month plan only, taxes and fees extra, speeds lower above 40 gigabytes of city details. Also taking the field Monday night will be 49er star wide receiver Brandon IU after an off-season standoff with the team. Resulted in IUEC signing a four-year $120 million contract extension to remain in the Bay Area after weeks of heavy trade rumors connecting him to several other teams, most prominently the Pittsburgh Steelers. It turns out IUEC was indeed very nearly traded to the Steelers as Fox Sports NFL Insider Jake Lazer reported Sunday. The 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan literally ran upstairs in the team facility after a meeting with the wide receiver in order to convince the front office to pause trade negotiations with the Steelers. The 49ers agreed to hold off on finishing the trade with Pittsburgh until IUEC made up his mind but only gave him until the end of practice that same day. IUEC decided he wanted to remain with San Francisco and signed his contract extension soon after. New details have come to light regarding the incident where Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreke Hill was handcuffed by police officers hours before the Dolphins' season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Hill was issued two traffic citations, one for reckless driving and one for a seatbelt violation according to ESPN, while one of the officers involved in handcuffing Hill was placed on administrative leave after an internal affairs investigation into the incident was launched by the Miami-Dade Police Department. The South Florida Police Union issued a statement Monday supporting the officers and claiming that Hill was "not immediately cooperative" during a traffic stop while Hill maintains he was respectful throughout the encounter. Dolphins defensive lineman Kaleya Campbell, who was also briefly handcuffed during the incident but not cited, said during an interview on FS1's The Facility on Monday that the situation was quote "crazy" and quote "not necessary" and blamed one of the officers who detained both Dolphins players for escalating the incident.
