Yours little down and board a whiskey, back open a l'e floor. Please put your hands together and make a little noise for your favorite wildcatters, the handsome Bosco boys. Ooh, Bosco's boys. Come on boys. Boom, the boys are back and it is time for a Q and a episode following the Tulane game before the Arizona game. And we got lots of questions. I won't ramble too much. I do remember doing the Q and a after the Tulane game back in 2022. Well, it's not like this is an overly cheery Q and a, you know, I it's it's still a good one. I got to give a shout out to, you know, we got Mark, always one of the MVPs for this. He came through Zach Llewellyn. He had three good ones who also had some multiples. We got Steve Z with couple. Parakat Ryan, dude Parakat Ryan, Steve Z and Mark. And Mark can tell, you know, he knows how bad I am pronouncing names. Also, you know, all these guys are folks I'm, you know, going back and forth with on game day. Some of the best, they're always the MVPs of Q and a show. So those three guys are always at the top of the list. We're just going to get into it right away. At some point, you'll hear some ads. At some point, we'll talk about Manhattan Brewing Company and Charlie Hustle. But we are going to jump into it. Parakat Ryan asking case seats, defensive backs, hold Macmillan to under 250 yards. So this came in. I think a lot of them came in before the Arizona NAU game kicked off. And again, Arizona was down, what, 10 to six at half time going into that game. They did shut out NAU rest of the way, but it was a field goal, a field goal, a touchdown, a safety and a touchdown from Arizona. Macmillan did not get into the end zone. He ended up with two catches, T. Mackett, two catches for 11 yards, his long of 12. So one of his catches was four negative yards, only 176 yards or 73 yards receiving. Now, calmly for them had five for 38. And he also, calmly had 17 carries for 112 yards. Arizona had two rushes for over 50 yards. Kendrick Rissenko, he had 71 yards rushing. So again, they had their big plays. But NAU just basically said, hey, we're going to double team Macmillan the entire way. We're going to have someone jam him at the line of scrimmage and then be bracketed with a safety. So look, if Casey wants to sell out doing that 100%, 100%, 100%. Look, he has, I mean, he's averaging three, what, a hundred and 55, 57, 157 yards a game, but 300 of them happen in the first. So yes, can they 100% is it going to be tough? Are you going to have to dedicate a lot of resources to that? Yes, you're going to have to do that as well. But I will be interested to see what the game plan looks like for that. The next one from PowerCat Ryan, was that a good tune up to figure out what won't work? Find things that do work and get the team hyper focus for Arizona and still walk away with the win? Yes. I think that is the perfect way to look at it. Of course, it was not framed up. It wasn't like, hey, this is a tune up game. You know, we're just going to go out there and, you know, we're just going to get through it and we're just going to test some stuff. No, that that in that sense, no, but it did give us an idea. And it's something that I talked about leading into the two-lane game. You need to figure out, okay, hey, what's going to work? What's not going to work? And everything has been a ramp up. Now, instead of a tune up, should it be ramp up? Yes. 110%. But that's what I was saying last week. You played a good FCS team, which did lose in double overtime to the rival CMO, putting them behind the eight ball when you're looking at our friends from UT Martin trying to get to the FCS playoff. But you played a solid FCS team that leads into a good group of five team. To now, again, I haven't seen any rankings. I'm full of disclosure. I am recording this Sunday right at noon. I have not seen any rankings, but presumptively a top 20 matchup. So yes, it's a ramp up. So that's probably a better term for it than a tune up. But yes, that is exactly what it was. There's a continuation of ramping up for the massive moments. And then the uptown update to lane podcast reply back, that was a tune up question mark, probably feeling a little offended. Look, tune up. I mean, would two lane fans in again? I don't know if any are listening this, but if you are, if you're a two line fan listening to this, would you would you prefer the term ramp up better than tune up? Look, I don't think I don't think that should cause any sort of, you know, ruffling of feathers. I really don't. I think this is exactly what Parakat Ryan talked about. It was a ramp up. Every single game is ramping up for a bigger moment. You know, is be why you're going to be a tougher test than Arizona at home? I don't know, but that's going to be a conference game. So you're ramping up to your conference game. And then you're ramping up from a what will be a loud, raucous, a way crowd to then playing what might be a top 15 game in Bill Snyder family seeing a top 15 matchup with Oklahoma State. Now that's going to depend on what happens between them and Utah the week before, but everything, every single game has been ramping up from one from week one to two, two to three, three to four, four to five before that by week comes and then you play Colorado. Notice how I remembered that coming into this episode versus me thinking the by week happened after BYU during the game review episode. But hey, it happens. So that's my takeaway from all of that. Final one of Parakat Ryan who got us started off with the first three. Did that win feel like a loss? No, it did not. Again, there were some moments that again, look, for games I'm not attending, I am checking social media after every play. I for the most part stayed away from the message boards. For a game like this, I try to stay away for two to three days. I did have to own up for my declaration. I said in a KU thread, the KU master thread on KSO, I said there's a 0.0% chance KU loses to both Illinois and UNLV. They're favored by a touchdown versus UNLV, but UNLV, they're putting up some points. That'll be an interesting one. Again, also happening on Friday, kicking off an hour before our game, versus Arizona. It'll be interesting. I might be wrong. Definitely was not 0.0, so I did have to go into that thread and own up to it. This win did not feel like a loss. Again, Tulane is a salty team. Are they 2022 good? Probably not, but Williams is a very good wide receiver. I think that quarterback is good. Some are all, he's a whining, pathetic, babbling toddler that makes Matt Campbell and Lance Leipold look like well-adjusted human beings type of coach, but he's a good coach. Look, I will never say a loss felt like a win or a win felt like a loss. Unless you're having to go to overtime with an FCS team or going down to the wire there, but a win is a win no matter how you get it. Yes, style points matter. Yes, momentum matters, and a lot of that salad dressing is great for the fans, but the most important and the only thing that ultimately matters is coming away with the win. Something that also ultimately matters is Manhattan Brewing Company. Again, it was a college football Saturday fueled by Manhattan Brewing Company, had a rally beer at halftime. London Sazon had a victory beer, the pumpkin batch, and then the post-game beer was the Fowler American Whitbury brewed with wheat from the K-State Foundation strain of wheat. It is amazing. Again, there's liquor stores all across the Kansas City metro on the Kansas side. I've seen them in Topeka. I've seen them in Lawrence. I've seen them in Wichita all around. Now, if your local liquor store doesn't carry it, ask, hey, can I talk to whoever buys the craft beer for this place? And then just say, hey, look, I'd love Manhattan Brewing Company in here. It's a great brewery right here in the state. Could you think about it? You know, be nice, but be assertive. Heard lots of success stories with that. So shout out to Manhattan Brewing Company. Truly the best. Again, show up before the game on Friday. Get a couple crows and growlers, take them to the tailgate. If you don't have tickets, watch the game there. If you're down on Wichita, check out the Manhattan Brewing Company lounge as well. All right, we got Western Wildcat. Can the defense get right to take on a formidable passing offense in Arizona? And do you think the offense improved from the first week to the next? All right, first part of that question. Can they? Yes, we just saw NAU do it. Again, a lot of these came in before the NAU Arizona game, but we 100% can. Again, we saw a similar type of game from the secondary versus Missouri last year. That ended in disaster. It was horrible communication. They, you know, you could tell that not everyone was on the same page. I would love to get to a point where they don't need a massive wake up call, but they were a good unit towards the end of the season. Now I was part of this. I said it yesterday. I'll say it again today. I was part of it. I was part of the hype machine saying, Hey, maybe a five NFL guys in your secondary. All three safeties are going to get drafted. Keenan, Garber and Jacob Parrish, both can be all big 12 considerations. And look, I was saying similar stuff after week one. But but look, I don't think that there is good as they were hyped up to be again. I own up to my part of it. And yeah, they're not they're not at that level. Can they get there? Maybe? Will they be a lot better? 100% Arizona can absolutely shred us. I'm hoping that doesn't happen. And we've seen that they aren't this, you know, the the second coming of the greatest show on turf, you know, St. Louis Rams or anything like that. I mean, there are dangerous offense. Don't get me wrong, but you know, they struggled big time in the passing game versus an FCS team and an FCS team that's not supposed to be any good. Second one, do I think the offense improved from first week to this week? Yeah, I do. I think they took a small step forward. I think Avery Johnson was slightly better passing. I think the running game was just as good. Obviously a big step up in program again, the ramp up every single week until you get to that first buy week is very real. But I do. I think they took was it two steps forward? No. Was it even a full step? I mean, but at least a half step. Again, I think when you take into account the performance versus the team, I think you can say they took at least a half step forward. Can they take another half step or a full step step versus Arizona? I mean, tune in to find out. I'll be looking forward to it on Friday. But I do think that they improved a little slightly from week one to week two. Next one, Joe Norris. How big is Notre Dame's loss for the Big 12? Look, I don't, I will talk playoff and I'm a hypocrite. I understand it. I'm sure when the playoff rankings come out and we're getting closer and if case state is in the playoff race, if they're in the Big 12 race, I'll spend way more time talking about it probably on third or probably with the Friday whip around shows because, well, I don't, yeah, probably on the Friday whip around shows. I'll probably be talking plenty about the playoff rankings. But I don't like it. Notre Dame's loss. First off, college football is amazing. College football is great. Was just absolute madness for week two. Does Notre Dame lose that? Throw them out of playoff consideration? It should. It should. Will it? I don't know. But they definitely cannot sustain another. I don't think a 10 and two Notre Dame with as soft as schedules they have and one of those losses being Northern Illinois. I don't think that they are a viable at large player for the college football playoff. So if you're talking about in terms of the Big 12 getting multiple teams in, that's that's pretty big. But I almost think that the best thing for the Big 12 might have been Notre Dame to go undefeated, be the five seed or have a better loss in Northern Illinois and get a six seed and then be matched up to play Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl and then beat them and get a team into the semi final. Would it be better for the Big 12 to have a team in the semi final or two teams get in but no team in the semi final? I don't know. I don't know. I mean, I don't know. I don't have an answer. That's kind of how I look at it. The chances of getting a very beatable team in the quarter final in the in the Fiesta Bowl decreases. But the chance of getting multiple teams increased. So it just depends on what your flavor is. We got two from Steve Z. The first one he texted to me asked him to resend it in because it was good enough. He goes, how different do you think the perception of the game would have been if we returned a fumble for a touchdown the first quarter versus when we did he kind of caveat it and say, Hey, I understand butterfly theory about everything else works the exact same. And I said, that's a good question because, okay, say you're going in at to halftime only down three. Everything plays out the same. So you still get to a seven point lead after trading some touchdowns and field goals and all that type of stuff. I think ultimately it doesn't change much. It maybe lowers the anxiety. I think you probably end close to the same spot of a lot of disappointment. But I think things might be a little less volatile in the middle because you know that that 10 point deficit at halftime, there was a lot of frustration not only with the defense but offense. So I think maybe you end it the same spot but things maybe aren't as volatile right there in the middle of the game. So shout out to Steve Z. The final one he asked, if I could only eat one seafood item for rest of my life, what would it be? There was some follow up stuff back and forth. But he said like, Hey, it's like one thing from the sea. What I like salmon shrimp crab lobster, etc, etc. I think I would go with salmon. I probably eat the most tuna but I like salmon the best. I need to I need to whether it's air fryer, whether it's baking, whether it's you know pan searing. I need a smoker. If anyone wants to give me a trigger for free shout, you know, bring it on over. I need to get better at cooking salmon because salmon is my favorite but I eat the most tuna but I would say salmon would be the one thing I would eat for rest of my life. All right, the next one, Colton Cooper was Connor Riley truly our best OC choice. Look, I get the frustration and I am not I'm not trying to make yesterday as I'm recording Saturdays. You guys are listening out to me better than it was but he schemed up the running back wheel route with you know, it was a swing wheel read option for DJ. He's schemed up the Joe Jackson touchdown that got taken off the board. He had great running concepts with both both DJ and Dylan Edwards. Did he make some questionable play calls? 100% 100% but how many teams how many teams fans come away from games versus teams with a pulse. You know, we don't have Ohio State's cupcake of a schedule but how many how many fans come away from any game where you're like, Oh man, perfect game from the OC never never was he our best choice. I don't know. I don't know who the other viable candidates are. Is he flawed? Yes, but everyone was flawed. I remember folks trying to fire calling Klein at different moments throughout his time as the play caller for K state. And now, you know, folks who got, you know, melted down, he went to A&M and folks still want him to be our next head coach. Again, I'm not look, I don't know. I don't know who the candidates were. I really don't. I really don't but but I think I think some of the folks just need to take a step back away from the ledge when it comes to discussing Conner Eilie. I think you may you guys might disagree. That's fine. That's fine. That's your prerogative. I thought he drew up some stuff. And again, as I said yesterday, as you guys are listening to this, there were a couple times where just an extra second, not even a second, just an extra half second of keeping a body on a guy. Some of those running plays could have gone for more. If there weren't some completely whiff blocks by a couple of the tight ends on some of those plays could have been big plays. I think the wide receivers and tight ends are going to have a tough time and film when they watch back some of those plays that could have could have been massive. But again, Conner Eilie is not perfect, but I'm fine. I'm not jumping ship. I'm not jumping ship. We'll give a shout out. Next to our sponsor, Charlie Hustle, currently wearing a crew neck sweatshirt. It is truly fall. And my favorite thing I've told you guys, I like to wear shorts with a crew neck sweatshirt. I feel cozy. I feel good. I look good, especially when it's a Charlie Hustle crew neck. It doesn't matter if you want officially licensed case state gear, it doesn't matter if you want Kansas City icon gear. It doesn't matter if you want some stuff from another college, officially licensed stuff from sporting Kansas City and the Kansas City current. Charlie Hustle has you taken care of. Crew necks, t-shirts, hoodies, varsity jackets, quarter zips. They got sweatpants. You're going to have an entire sweatsuit, Charlie Hustle style. Also, we're giving away two t-shirts and something special. Be tuned in next Monday as we have the biggest giveaway in podcast history. All right, we got Brian Metcalf next, and he has a great question. Biggest winners and losers from the big 12 this past weekend in football. So there's a lot of games to touch on. I'm going to and I did not look at this in person. I'm going to just go through each of the games from this past week and I'm going to say just get my thoughts on it. The first one it was played on Friday. BYU, SMU in Dallas. BYU wins it by a score 18 to 15. I would say BYU a moderate winner. I think SMU is trash. I don't think they're any good. But look, BYU has things rolling. They are 2 and 0. They play a bad, bad, bad Wyoming team. So they're going to be 3 and 0 in hell. They might be receiving votes when K-State comes to town. We don't have a time announcement on that. But that is going to be a ruckus crowd. And folks, I really wish I would have bought my tickets already. I think I'm going to lose out on secondary ticket lottery here because I think that's going to be an expensive ticket. It's going to be a wild game. It's going to be at least the top 20 K-State team coming to an undefeated BYU. So maybe I'm sounding them short. Maybe BYU is a good winner. So we'll have a slight winner, a moderate winner, a good winner, and a great winner if we're trying to grade out the winners and losers from this past week. Arizona State, I don't know if they ended up covering because that spread ended up getting up to six and a half. So they did cover. But a home win over an SEC team. Again, Mississippi State is trash. Absolute garbage. But look, what expectations did we have for Arizona State coming into this season? Now they're going to have a test game in San Marcos at Texas State on Thursday on ESPN. Great game to watch on Thursday. Texas Tech opening up as a slight favorite. They can win that. Boom. They're three and oh before they go to Texas Tech who spoiler alert, they're going to be the biggest losers. I would say Arizona State, even though they ended up being six and a half point favorite, a home win by seven points over Mississippi State. I'm calling them a good winner. Washington State absolutely beating the breaks off of Texas Tech. They are the biggest loser. Look, I, and this is a shout out to my guy, make it rain, MJ. Look, I bought into it as well. This is the second straight year I've been burnt by Joey Maguire in Texas Tech. I think, you know, to take a bit from Mason, both of the KSOs show, I think Joey Maguire needs to be put on fraud watch. He recruits well. He says everything the right way. He's the exact type of guy that you imagine when you think Texas Tech head coach. But he's not winning at nearly the clip that, you know, Matt Wells did. Yeah, that might be a little, that might be a little insane because I think Joey Maguire did get to a bowl game last year, right? Maybe. Can't remember. But everyone's like, all right, you know, Texas Tech, you know, 2023 dark horse. I might even pick them to make the big 12 championship game. And then, you know, I was part of the group like, oh, you know, looking at their schedule. Man, they could really get rolling. Look at the schedule. You know, they're going to pound North Texas. And they probably should beat Arizona State. And again, they probably should beat Cincinnati if you're looking just on paper. Is there a chance that they're four and one before they go to Arizona? Maybe. Maybe they turn it around. But folks, I don't know why you would think they were. They beat Abilene Christian by one point, a bad FCS team get their breaks blown off by Washington State on the road. Again, can they figure stuff out the next, you know, three games in Lubbock, Texas, verse teams that on paper are inferior? I mean, maybe, but look, they have to be put on fraud watch. Absolute biggest losers through two weeks in the big 12. Next, Arizona, they won. They did not look good doing it. But at least their defense look all right. I'm making them a slight winner because again, I'm not going to not going to, you know, say that you're a loser if you win the game. TCU, Long Island, who cares, slight winner as small as you can get. It's Long Island. Houston losing 16 to 12, verse Oklahoma. And man, they shot themselves in the foot multiple times with a 12 gauge shotgun. Absolutely killed themselves. I'm calling them only a slight loser. And if there was ever a time to call a team a winner after a game, a road game in Norman after getting the breaks beat off you by UNLV. Look, I came close. I came close to calling them a winner, but I can't do it slight loser. Colorado, I mean, running with Texas Tech for the biggest losers. Look, I think that team is very close to imploding. If they lose, if they lose at Colorado State. Oh my God, folks, there could be fireworks. There's a non zero chance Dion Sanders and his sons and Travis Hunter aren't even playing by the time we get there in the middle of October. I mean, the implosion could be real if they don't win at in Fort Collins on Saturday. My God, should you're walking off the field with three minutes left? Oh, geez, the sideline. Oh my gosh. UCF taking care of Sam Houston, who cares slight winner? KU losing 23 to 17. They're the second biggest losers of the week. Jalen Daniels turns it over four times. And what was a pretty good defensive performance. KU can't muster up more than 17 points. Andy code on like he is not walking through that door. Look, it was a pick six for one of the touchdowns for Illinois in the second quarter, which gave them the first or yeah, first half lead. Absolutely horrible game from them. Jalen Daniels with a 32.4 QBR. He did have two touchdowns, but again, three interceptions, a lost fumble, 4.4 yards per drawback. Devin Neal had 101 yards on 14 carries along with 26. High Shaw, seven for 39. So even like the running wasn't great. I mean, Devin Neal, I mean, he's great. I'm never, I'm not going to say anything bad about him. I think I would take DJ Ganon's over him, especially in case it's offense. But I mean, whoa, what is Jeff Grimes thinking? So KU is the second biggest loser of the week. West Virginia beat a Albany team who is nothing. So slight winner, Iowa State 20 to 19 over Iowa, massive winner, biggest winner of the week. Again, they did it with special teams and in a close game. Again, Iowa State, look, I said it when we were picking the games, I said, if they win this game, they could get some absolute momentum rolling. And we might have to be talking about a 10 win Iowa State team when it's all said and done. Because who is going to put up, you know, any sort of, any sort of, you know, resistance to them until maybe, maybe their trip to West Virginia? Arkansas State, no Houston. Again, good for them for putting up a fight, but no Baylor, no. So again, October 12th, first West Virginia, but I mean, is West Virginia any good? Then they get UCF at home, Texas Tech, we already shit on them, going to Arrowhead versus KU. And if the wheels come off for KU, that, I mean, it might be 60,000 Iowa State fans in Arrowhead. Then Cincinnati, then Utah, then K State folks, the Iowa State momentum is going to get rolling. And I hate it. I wish it wasn't going to happen. But this is a massive win for them. Biggest winners of the week. Utah, slight winner, they beat Baylor, they were up 23 to nothing early. Cam rising leaves the game with a not broken finger. Is he going to play versus Utah State? I don't know. But slight winner, Baylor, I mean, they are what they are. Deverenda is going to get fired. So moderate loser, Cincinnati, massive, massive loser. They were up, what? They were up, they have 27 to 13, 27 to six. They were up mass. Yeah, they were up by 21 points. They were up by 21 points and let a bad Pittsburgh team come back and beat them. They are the third worst loser. Oklahoma State, slight winner, massive comeback. But I don't think Arkansas is any good. Slight winner, but hey, they're a winner in K State. I'm going to call it a moderate winner. Again, I think that's probably the second best win by the big 12 so far this year behind Iowa State's win over Iowa, but it is a decent win all together. So those are my winners and losers. So yeah, there it is. We'll try to speed it up as we're already over a half hour. Got Colton Cooper is Avery not able to be himself while we're forcing him to pass is best for the offense, especially the young wide receiver corps and two talented running back. Okay, that's I definitely am reading that. That's not really worded great. Is Avery not able to be himself in forcing him to pass the best for this? Look, okay, that is a weirdly worded question. I do think K State needs to make the identity running the ball. I mean, if you're asking is Avery not at his best because we're forcing him to pass too much? Maybe. Maybe. I think we should be running the ball. I think that should be our identity. I do think Avery is a talented enough passer. I think he's at his best when he's moving and improvising. Again, it was an all-American caliber play when he threw the touchdown to Will Swanson. He was rolling out through against his momentum behind one set of defenders in front of the other to find Swanson in the back of the in zone for a touchdown. He's able to be a good thrower of the ball. I mean, the ball he threw to Keegan Johnson was amazing. He made some other really good throws and he did a good job improving. But I do think and again, the design quarterback runs were poorly blocked. I keep thinking back to that quarterback sweep. But I do think we'd be at our best if we focused on establishing the run early with DJ with Dylan and with Avery. So yeah, I think that trying to paint him into a box if that is what they're doing is not what's best for Avery or this offense. Joel asks, who is going to guard this receiver at 630? I don't know which receiver you're talking about. If you're talking about McMillan, I think we saw, hey, if you're dedicating two guys to guarding him, you can shut him down pretty good. We got Bobby Sims next. We're going to move up this week after big losses above us, but I'm not buying in. I don't see the signs of a top 25 football team today. Nope. God. This makes me so mad. Again, Tulane is a solid team. If you look at the best wins by the big 12 so far this year, it is Iowa State beating Iowa and K-State beating Tulane. Again, Tulane was receiving votes. Tulane is going to, when it's all said and done, be a contender to win the AAC, which I think is a better conference than the ACC. Look, I get it. It was a frustrating game at times, but stuff like that just sends me over the edge. Like saying he really don't think K-State's a top 25 team based on that win. That was a gritty win. That was a gritty win. It was on the road versus a team with a pulse. There were so many teams who struggled with far worse teams while at home. We saw far better teams lose to far worse teams while at home this past week. I just, uh, I, that one fires me up. No. I, I, I'm moving on before I get mad. We got our friend Philip from the 1012 network. Decidedness performance make you feel better or worse about the Arizona game. Also, what is the one thing about the Tulane game that you don't think can be fixed by next week? Immediately after the Tulane game, I was feeling worse about the Arizona game, but again, we saw how flawed Arizona is on, you know, the after dark. When I fell asleep at half time in the game, they were losing. Again, they end up, you know, getting some plays in the second half and shutting out NAU, but they gave up a ton of points to Western Kentucky. Arizona is a very flawed team, albeit also a fellow top 20 team. So after, after the Tulane game, I was feeling worse. During the Arizona game and even waking up this morning, I felt better than I did and something that can't be fixed. Again, I said it yesterday. I, I just don't think that we're going to get what we ultimately need to reach our ceiling from the wide receivers in this next week. Again, we've never seen Keegan Johnson be consistent week to week at K-State. And he had a decent game, uh, just under 60 yards from scrimmage. Um, Jason Brown went invisible after what was an amazing week one. So that that's probably something that I don't think will get fixed by Friday, but the hope is it's fixed, uh, by October. All right, we got Kyle next. Do I think DJ would be even better if Dylan was on the field with him every play? First off, that's not going to happen. Dylan will not be on the field every single play. Um, again, he, he, he is a gadget plus plus player and that, that is not to take anything away from him because look, he's leading the team with touchdowns. He has three touchdowns right now. When he gets the ball, he can be electric, but he is small in stature. He doesn't have the muscle profile of, uh, deuce Vaughn or, or even in the same ballpark as Darren Sproles. Um, I imagine he's still learning some stuff. I mean, again, they, they talked all, you know, summer about throwing a lot of stuff at him. Um, so he can get ready for the season, but he's probably still learning. He can't be on the field as much as DJ is. Do I, do I want to see them more? Yes. I mean, were they, I mean, was it a play? Was it a, was it two play? Like, was it at all? I mean, we saw it a couple of times in the opener, but I don't know how much we saw that at all. Um, verse two lines. So do I want to see more of it? Yes. Do I want to see every play? No, that's not realistic at all. And would it make DJ better? Yeah. I, I think, I think Dylan becoming a weapon that opposing teams have to focus on when he's out there and getting him out there more makes everyone better. So again, I, I want to see more, uh, Dylan Edwards for sure, but it can't be equal amount of snaps as DJ. That, that's just nonsense. All right. We got Calvin Morgan. If I could guarantee an A game from one case, a position group against Arizona, which position group am I picking? I'm picking the defensive backs. Um, it's them or the wider severs, but I'm going with the defensive backs because look, if the defensive backs have an A game, I don't see a world. I do not see any scenario in which Arizona beats Casey. And honestly, it might be blowout territory. If every single player in our secondary plays their A game, yes, I was part of the group that hyped them up and I listened to some of the stuff floating out of Manhattan 100%. I'm not going to try to step back and pretend like I wasn't, but they do have talent. And if that group plays an A game and we saw what a, you know, below average FCS team did to Arizona's passing attack on Saturday, if case eight secondary has an A game, I mean, I don't think Arizona keeps it within 20. I don't think they keep it within 20. Now, I have no confidence that we can get an A game from the entire secondary. Um, so I'm definitely not going to pick that, but, but it would be the secondary. Second would be wide receivers, but look, I can see the wide receivers having an A game and it's still being a shootout. So I would go secondary there. All right, we got Zach Llewellyn. Can the pass rush get home versus Arizona? I mean, I would like to see them get there with three or four. Again, it seemed like we needed at least five, four or five to get there, verse, uh, two lane. And look, I think some folks get a little caught up with the idea of, Oh, having to blitz to get there. When you only have three guys that gives you someone, you can blitz from different spots of the field. That's part of what makes the three, three, five and intriguing defense. And a defense that gives you flexibility. You, you have an extra man that you can send from anywhere on the field to go after the quarterback and passing situations, or you bring in the four man, uh, down front. Um, so I hope so. Not feeling overly confident, but I'm also not feeling super pessimistic. I think hopefully we see something, you know, some difference between week one and week two. Obviously, I can't expect for, you know, Toby to get seven, you know, right, you know, quarterback pressures all on his own. Um, but I'm hoping we see a little bit more. Granted, look, we got five sacks first to land a couple more pressures. Um, so if you're talking about the, Hey, how many sacks look four or five, but how many of that are we going to have to send the house to blitz to do it? That's where I don't know. He said, well, this would be the game that passed story or line game, but come the starters, no, unless the injuries to Kiltley and, uh, uh, Hadley panzer are more serious. No one asked about it in post game. I'm sure we'll hear something on Monday I would imagine. Uh, and again, recording this Tuesday, or not Tuesday, I'm recording this Sunday early afternoon. Um, so I don't know if they asked anything on Monday. We'll talk about it tomorrow for the game preview, but no, if, if, if Kiltley and panzer can go, uh, I guess you can throw Portia in there. I think they'd still be the reserves. Final one over under 1.5 non offensive touchdowns for K state versus Arizona. I asked for follow up on it. Uh, next week or rest of your goes next week, you know, you got one last two games. Can we get two and week three and he said to sweeten the deal, I'd, you can bet at plus 200 or better. I would never touch it. That is an, that's, that is an insane thing. If you're only getting plus 200 for two or more defensive or special team touch yams in a single game, that is insane. No, no, I would bet that we get zero. I definitely would love it if we got one, but no, no, not touching it. Um, Jason Jackson, not a question. He said, experience secondary looked very first year today. Yeah. I mean, look, talked about it a lot. Um, yesterday we talked about it at points here today. It was not great. It was not great. Um, got one from Kyle and then we will end with our guy Mark before we do shout out to our sponsors. Again, Charlie Hussle and Manhattan Brewing Company. Remember next Monday, the biggest giveaway we've ever done with Charlie Hussle coming on Monday. So make sure you're following us in Charlie Hussle. Make sure you're not showing up empty handed to your tailgates on Friday. Make sure you have a couple of four packs and crawlers from Manhattan Brewing Company. Simply the best. All right. Uh, we got Kyle. He said, my daughter had her first volleyball game. So I didn't get to watch, but checked in on Twitter. What do you think was more frustrating? The game or third graders attempting to overhand serve when we were down 13 to one, like the cats we somehow still won. What in the world? 13 to one, and they came back from that. I mean, that's pretty good. Good for the volleyball team. Um, look, I would imagine the volleyball is more frustrating. Again, K-State still won. K-State still won. Again, I was frustrated at moments, but again, once that game ended, once I took a walk with my dog, I was not frustrated at all. I was not frustrated at all. Again, you know, I can say, hey, wish the play calling would have been better here. Wish this would have been better there. Hey, that was disappointing here, but I still I don't think I don't I just don't understand how anyone after after the you come down from the initial motions from the game, how anyone can still be disappointed. So. All right, ending up with the group from Mark, the first one, just the same as last week. What am I most and least concerned about moving forward? Um, I don't remember what I said last week. I fear that I said the defensive ends is where I'm least worried. But I'm least concerned with the running backs. Again, DJ is so underrated in the state, in the region, in the conference, in the nation. I'm not worried about the running backs. And again, Dylan Edwards is still electric every time he touches the ball. Um, most concerned, I'm still most concerned with the wide receivers, man. I mean, if Jason Brown just could have had four catches for 50 yards, I'd be feeling pretty good. But again, the fact that he completely disappeared, the fact that Trey Spivey was the only the only other wide receiver. Again, the wide receivers combined for six catches. And I don't think I mean, it was like six catches for like 75 yards, 80 yards, nine and a hundred yards. Uh, I'm concerned about the wider receivers. I do. I really, I really do. Maybe this is false hope. Can maybe I'm going to come here next week and you know, hate myself. But I think, I think the secondary can figure it out. Next one from Mark, uh, he asked, was this week in the episode of college football, do we actually know who is or isn't good from after two weeks? Yes. I mean, this is what makes college football the absolute best. Folks are talking to, oh, you know, kind of a sleepy slate for week two, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I'm sure folks are saying the same thing about week three. No, college football is amazing. Every week is great. But yeah, upsets all around, we have no idea who's good. And really it's college football outside of like the top three, four teams at most. I mean, we never really know who's good. So I love it. Next one from Mark, does the Arizona game being on Friday make you more or less confident going into it? I would say more, I think typically weeknight games, non Saturday games. Uh, there's an even bigger advantage for the home team, I think. I don't know if that's real. I maybe just made that up, but I feel more confident about it. Next one from Mark, do I think, uh, we're saving DJ and Dylan being in the back field at the same time until conference play. Both seem successful at times and Dylan's speed throughout the whole was lethal. Um, maybe, maybe they're saving it or maybe they're saving it for Arizona. Um, but I do think they're holding that back a little bit. They showed it a little week one. So we'll see. Hopefully we see more of it. I, I think you can do so much fun and creative stuff with both of them out there. So hopefully. Next one from Mark Avery seems more confident in rhythm or hurry up or more confident and in rhythm when they're in a hurry up. Do we need to try to use more tempo going forward? Yes. And I think they try to. I think the issue is, especially like in the first half of that game, you need to pick up a couple first downs or at least one first down before you can get a tempo going. Again, I think Avery is at his best when he's improvising when he's able to be himself when he's able to, you know, be the least predictable for the opposing team. I think tempo helps that as well. When will DJ get the national recognition he deserves? Probably never. Um, I don't know, man. If it doesn't happen after this week, I don't, I don't know what he needs to do. So frustrating. Final two from Mark seems to me there were several misses for the offense. They'll lock it over throw. Several missed blocks. It goes sprung runs. By looking at with rose colored glasses or where the schemes and execution or schemes there, an execution just missed at times. You know, I think this is a little bit element of college football that sometimes the players just don't execute. And again, I said that a lot of this in different parts of the Q&A episode and a lot of it in the game review. I do think that the schemes were there. I think some of the plays were there, but it's not to say they were all perfect. Again, I think that you are like the throw to lock it. That could have been a touchdown. A couple extra blocks. Maybe that's an extra touchdown. I really do think there were just an inch here or there, a second here or there away from this game being a celebration. I was talking about like how good case state is. So again, I think it's a little bit of each. I don't think you have rose or lavender tinted glasses saying that. Final one, can we all take a breath, enjoy being two and oh and recognize college football is about surviving in advance and winning on the road is always tough. Amen Mark. Amen.
