(upbeat music) - Today is Saturday, September 7th, and this is Coke Spirit's Daily Bible Reading Plan. Today's scripture comes from the Book of Mark, chapter 14, verses 32 through 36. They went to the olive grove called Gethymony, and Jesus said, "Sit here while I go and pray." He took Peter, James, and John with him, and he became deeply troubled and distressed. He told them, "My soul is crushed with grief "to the point of death. "Stay here and keep watch with me." He went on a little farther and fell to the ground. He prayed that if it were possible, the awful hour awaiting him might pass by. Abba Father, he cried out, "Everything is possible for you. "Please take this cup of suffering away from me. "Yet I want your will to be done, not mine." Now let's apply it. Jesus knew God's outcome was the best outcome, and he trusted God. He shared his desires and his pain, but he chose not to act to change things. He abandoned his own will to avoid suffering, to surrender to the will of God, saving the world from our sins. Where do you need to trust God's outcome over your own desires? - Thank you for joining us for the Daily Bible Reading Podcast.
