Hey I'm Ryan Reynolds, recently I asked Mint Mobile's legal team if big wireless companies are allowed to raise prices due to inflation, they said yes. And then when I asked if raising prices technically violates those owners to your contracts, they said, "What the f*ck are you talking about? You insane Hollywood f*ck!" So to recap, we're cutting the price of Mint Unlimited from $30 a month to just $15 a month. Give it a try at mintmobile.com/switch. My dad works in B2B marketing. Colin, in fact, here at City Tonight, easy to call it quits. But with me tonight, we've got Jamie celebrating diet for how are you, mate? I'm good, Mason. Thank you. We'd glad to get the pod on the way. Colin dropping in and out on us, but I thought he was going to shake that up, but he's back. So no, I'm all good, Mason. Thank you. Colin, we thought you did a part of this for a second, mate. Yeah, I don't know. I'm good to be on. I'm doing the Southampton approach. I'll be your yawn. I don't know. I don't know. That's the one segue I've brought in. But no, as long as my wife stays up, I am happy to be here. That's up, mate. Good to have you in. And we've got Johnny as well. Are you Johnny? Good, mate. Thanks for holding me back on. It's been a chaotic stress. We'll be. So I'm looking forward to this. Just this zone away from it. So, let me, I'm prepared for that part. Let's go. Let's go straight in then, Johnny. Let's go straight in with that one as well, because it was the game with the most goals. It was listening to talk about Monday morning, just the game that I think everyone spoke about for the longest. So, as a Chelsea, you saw a sense of perspective, easy for me to say. Johnny, what did you make of the Chelsea performance? Listen, your school six goals, you have to be happy. Yeah, we'll start with that. They, they were ruthless. They were clinical. The game was mental. Absolutely bonkers. It had everything. It was fighting, scrapping constantly. We had a whole new level of Shitterhouse comments pre-match for Maduaki. I don't know if you've seen a bit of that. Yeah, you did. So, for the listeners that don't, I'll try any part of phrase, but you basically said that it wasn't a nice place to play. Move around. Yeah, and it's maybe in general. So, if we've got Peltas entire game, then he goes and rattles in a heart-trick. In general, I thought it was, it was meant, it could have been more goals to fire for rules, to be fair to them. Could it easily have been a much higher scoring game? But, I suppose the main thing I take away, we're delighted to get set scores, delighted to get the win more importantly. And the defensive shot for both sides was, was questionable, definitely. All of the goals could be a wee bit sloppy. It was a couple of crackers. Partma's goal was it was a parallel. Two touch for one clearance and just straight over to keep us head. But, I mean, they have to be happy with me. It was looking a wee bit. I can't say it was full of confidence going in after the first couple of games. They, they, they, they looked like they were struggling a wee bit. They looked way, way better at the weekend. And hopefully that continues. We keep throwing more players at the score, though. So, I don't know how to, what to say to that. Every day there's a new link, and Chelsea are in for Sunday. I don't know where they're all going to fit in. They just need to wrap that. Put an embargo on Mr. Bowie and what we'll let them go. I do think they have the pool there. I really do. I think they have the players there. They have a decent score. Yes, it's inflated. But let's just say, let's talk about the first 2022. I think that's, that's good enough. So, I mean, I was happy with it. I was happy with it. I suppose that would be a good round up win. Yeah, and obviously, if, listen, a matter of decay, if you're going to make a comment like that, you've got to go and back it up, and you're on a, and that's one way to do it. Jamie, just on the, the transfer of gel fillets, obviously previously at Chelsea, a lot of Chelsea fans were desperate to get him back first time around, but he's there now and he gets a goal. What did you, what did you make of that transfer? Making the transfers, you know, what can we say to me? I haven't said in the last three or four weeks that I had struck at Chelsea's transfer policy and how they're making these decisions. It took his goal well at the weekend, which was good to see. I think his debut last time was a goal in a, in a red card. So, you know, we managed to cut that out. I think he'll do what rates. As Johnny says, there's a lot of positives from the weekend, from an attacking sets. Neto looked great when he came on, man, I think he looks to be, and I think the key thing of it was, unless he goes to your feet, he has your own fillets. If you go back two weeks ago, when they played certain, Chelsea, we got a lot of stuck up how they kind of, they set up not to concede a fillet. But Palmer was on the right and he was very ineffective. At the weekend, he was right behind Jackson and he had the two wingers off him. Midwick, you can, you can swap him with a bit seven different players, and the Chelsea squad, and the problem doesn't make a difference. Midwick, he had a really good game. But I think the key could be Palmer. Palmer's sitting behind some of the legs of his own fillets. He can't help but think that that's actually going to be pretty decent. You know, I slag to the gel fillets transfer, but when you look at it, based on how they should potentially line up, it should work out. Jackson, for some reason, seem to be at the races at the weekend as well. You know, we just, he's, he's obviously getting themselves a goal and getting involved. Johnny says, "I could have foraged half-time the way that we defended them all over the place." But obviously a good win for Chelsea. I think Chelsea's next few games are pretty winnable, I would say. So you would expect them to potentially, you know, get a couple of games. I think they've got Palace, Bournemouth, West Ham, Brighton and Forest. So you'd expect them to kind of, you know, have a good run. The only, the only downside to that is obviously the international break. It's going to be, the question is going to be more back to what Johnny is saying. What does the team look like at the Come Friday night, at the end of the transfer window? You know, there's a lot of players. I think they need to ship something like 14, 15 players out and they can't be loans because they've already got the maximum number of loans out. So then Kepa went to Bournemouth, didn't he, this week? So that's, I think that was the last loan that they can send out. So they've got a lot of high profiles that they're not using, the job Felix won, it could be a master stroke, it could all fall flat in the face unfortunately. And he goes back to Palmer though, he's got, he's obviously going to be the key to that team, isn't it? So one thing they said, one thing I should say with the Chelsea think, the players that are bringing in, they're bringing in quality players, they don't sing poorly. You might have won or two, I'll give you that, you had them in Mudrick and Jackson can be questionable done well at the weekend, but they don't sing badly. I mean, there's not many teams in the Premier League that if they needed that position, which same knowledge I'll feel like, so they just wouldn't do it. And you could label a few, they might have been linked with two players in the last two days, and we'll come on to that, so we'll leave it. But again, good players, the problem is that they just really don't need them, but inflated in every position, that's, so every time the manager says to sell right, I'm building a wee bit of identity here, that's what I've got, by the way, Todd Bully booming, there's another four players make at work, and they hope to play it. No, it's my bad. Is that stockpiling though, and they're definitely, for me, they're definitely going to get the same shift, and it will probably be a factor. It's stockpiling, and then that'll be it, and they'll have the players there to bring in. Colin, sort of last thing on this game, I'm going to give you the Wolves side of things. Bear squad for me, looking again very thin, financially not really been able to do much. This season, they've probably lost informal, say, their best attacking player in Neto, and they've still managed to hold on to Nori, which I'm so surprised, one of the bigger clubs have come in and tried to get him. But I think they've, I know Gary and you've got a new deal, but I think they're really going to struggle. I think they're in a renegade battle this season. Well, what really concerned me about Wolves is, for what I've seen at the weekend, was joining the kind of touch, joining both teams should have done so much, so much better defensively, and I think that's kind of Wolves in general. I don't think they're about naive at times, and you can maybe argue, well, previously, well, they've had the leads in Neto, the tactical, and try and just score more. I'll score their teams in time, you know, back up points out. Well, I think as the team changes, they need to adapt as well, and I didn't see that at the weekend, I thought it was a background role, but too high-person, and it's a bit weird. It feels, feels very rules-like, but no Gary or Niro, like, if that makes sense. So I don't know if he's just following on a, I don't know, this is what our sex support these Wolves managers should do, and it will be maybe, like, I don't know, Huawei's or Niro, like, he changes his name to, I don't know what he's trying to do, but I think they need to, if they don't sign in the next few days, they really need to reassess how they set up, even at home, and all, I'm maybe being a wee bit harsh, because you're maybe looking at Chelsea as a bit of a basic case and thinking, right, okay, they're not quite a lot of poor or a man's city, but with all the quality they have, so, again, just naive, I think, for Wolves. Yeah, no, that's fair, and obviously losing their club captain in the summer as well, one that I've just missed, and that would have been a big blow to them as well, sorry, Demi. Mason Seal, not so true, with the Wolves, I was, I was listening to a piece on the Wolves of the day, and he was saying that they've actually brought in 110 million this up their window by selling players, but to kind of put it the other side, the kind of players that tried to buy, so they tried to have a sniff of iron ramsdale, because apparently the code keep it what Ozzie saw once away, but they were rebuffed by, they wanted a loan deal, but Arsenal wanted to 12-25 million guarantee at the end of the season, and apparently Wolves can't get to that figure, so they've just sold 100 million, and they can't guarantee 25 million into the next season on a probably a long-term project, that screams at the problem we're looking to sell up in terms of the owners, I think they're now going for Sam Johnston, yeah, Palace, so that's a massive bit drop-off in terms of value in your shopping range, I think you'll bring people in, just, yeah, just going to be a completely different level of quality, kind of feels sort of forgotten, because we all saw these pieces last season, how well he did. New punch, I was waiting for him in terms of what he had and the results he got, and as Colin said, even, you know, they didn't have to be caught in sheets at times, they got on results, so it'd be interesting to see how they do this season. Colin, I'll come to you first on this one, Fulham beating Leicester, two goals to one, you know, good way for Fulham, and the person I want to talk to you about though is Emil Smith wrote, and what you think of that transfer, and it was actually his first goal in over 30 Premier League appearances at the weekend, but obviously at home debut, it's a good way to start off with his new club. How much did he pay for him, Miss, and so I was, yeah, like, I thought, for Will's, for Fulham's study? Was it was a record form? I think it was a record form, it was like 35 million, or something that they paid for, which is the highest that they paid for, Blue. I mean, in Premier League terms, 35 million is nothing, but for Will's, that's money, Will's pen, I think, I thought, I thought he looked sharp, he took his role really, really well, and for a team like Fulham, where you don't have the bottomless pack, actually, if you're going to put out any out way more than 20 million, you won't hit me along the lines of "It's my flow, don't you?" I think you, I don't want to give him the commentary, of course, like I've done with so many, a few weeks ago as well, but I think you'll be actually insane for Fulham. It does link up Will, I'd never be listening to him as a kinder, that number 10 game, beyond the cycle, I think he can do that, he's probably, I've probably seen that I can say to him at the weekend, and I feel so foreign, but that's probably because we didn't see too much of him up until now, so I think he'll be money well spent for Fulham, I don't know if he's taken over the line, but I think I don't know if he's, it may be the main man for Fulham, but I don't know if he'll be a good enough main man, he'll go and get him pushing for, for Europe, for example, I still think, you know, even with him, it's a top 10 that we're leaving for here, unless he adds value over the next two or three days. I think that they've definitely improved the squad, Fulham, I was looking to the squad yesterday, they made 11 changes in the club game where they'd be booming, and then their squad's actually looking a lot stronger than their squad's last season, I think if you asked any sort of Fulham fan, you know, you're going to get a top 10, I think they'll be absolutely delighted with that, to be honest. Johnny, on a lesser side of things, again, you know, the copy, the point out of the first two games, but I just, they scored for me again, I think they're really, really going to struggle this season, I think they've got what you'd call a really, really good championship team, but when in terms of Premier League, I still see a lack of quality here, I can't really understand why they wouldn't spend £20 million on the top limit field, that was his name, I lost it, I don't know how to win, do the one with the blonde there? Yeah, I see the one with the blonde there, oh yeah, what was it? That's it, it was a skip, that's all the skip concert, that's it, skip, you know, I'm going to fill the wigs and skip back in the Premier League, I mean, that is really good for that, but, you know, game party still expected to ban the goals in as well, so I know we've already done our predictions and said about that last couple of weeks about that, but I think that, again, then I've achieved that's best thing to be in that battle. Hey, we see it, we see it every year, I think last year was a perfect blueprint of what not to do when coming up, we've seen it with the two, they saw the three teams that came up absolutely toiled, and that was during the season where we had two point deductions with teams that were right around about them, I mean, Sheffield were, we know what Sheffield was, they were a part of the Premier League team, but even Bunley looting, they absolutely toiled, because they didn't put a lot of money in, yes, I would say the same thing, as you've just said, they had good championship teams, and they'll probably be there, they're about to season down there, but nowhere near enough for the Premier League, every year the Premier League teams are getting more and more established and it becomes more difficult for these championship teams to get a foothold and stay there, unless you spend the money, but you have to have the money to do that, you know, I can't really criticize two months because I don't know the financial status of these teams, you think Leslie would have a few more though, but if memory sells, isn't there chairman about a notorious tightass? He was, so remember the hadtos existing loans that they were going to have to fill PS orbit, then the Sun came in and wiped the debt free, but the problem was, is that that was on the basis that they weren't getting relegated, so the fact that they got relegated means that the whole budget went completely skew-with. Yeah, yeah, so, well, they're going to get in production as well, they heard that, yeah, it was meant to carry over, but I don't know where they're at with that, I mean, it's like, they still got like, I remember Dhaka, Dhaka's still one of the strikers who couldn't get anywhere near the level of the Premier League, I mean, I'm not saying it can't happen, we've seen it a few times, he's kind of the lounge he may find it, he just can't do it, he's going to carry into the age, he's going to have weeks where he's struggling and then he needs a week off and no government, they have absolutely no other cover, I don't even know who they're like, isn't there, Canon, let's see, I don't know who that is. No, he's just brought him and I think he was, so then, Tom Cannon, I think it was, wasn't it? I'm not sure, even then you're talking, an experience against too much experience, basically, but yeah, I think they're going to have a hard time, they don't have much time left to improve, like I said, I don't know what kind of bank they've got, but if they don't, I think they're going to struggle, big thing. See, you just don't know, right, that's maybe a very obvious point, so I think there's been a change in culture for teams coming up for the championship on how they spend because of the financial fairway, because you used it, the teams get the partnership payment, but we don't see them, that's been the last two or three years, we've no seen teams grow tanto and spend half a million, like... Well, Forrest, the difference between... Sorry, Miss, you've said, see when Fulham first came back up last night, this time, they spent something like $110 million and went straight back down, and then they came back up when they had a Mitch eviction stuff up on it, that was probably the last time that you've seen somebody go all balls out, apart from Forrest buying 30,000 players up until Christmas and then I'm release them all. I think the misconception of the parachute payments, parachute payments help you keep afloat while you're in the championship, they probably don't improve your spending going forward because what you're able to do is compensate all the wages that you've brought down with you, that's probably what the parachute payments are there to protect you with. I think Leicester just blessed a word badly run, they were badly run, this is why they're going to get the points deduction, so the points deduction, for example, just to put it quickly, Leicester failed PSR three years ago, but failed to declare the books to the Premier League and the time slot because they've been relegated to the championship, Amanda said I don't mind understanding, because they were in the championship, they were up against the Premier League to say well you can no longer audit us because we are not part of the Premier League, so now they came back up two years later, the Premier League are holding that against them, hence the reason why they're facing the penalty now is because they remember that whole failure to comply and stuff like that, that's why it's so severe, that's why it's not been determined yet because what you probably expect is they might end up with a six to ten point deduction before the end of the year comes through because they were so far done with the books, remember that was, remember they couldn't pay off Brendan Rogers because they couldn't afford to set the salary to get rid of them, they're just, as you said Mason, they were a championship club unfortunately. You've got to be creative with your budget, like these clubs, you've got to spend, take that away from all of us, I'm not just picking on him, but you've got a small budget, go and get a five or six, you know, I've seen Burnley making better signings in the championship, the less there are, really, do you know what I mean, but it's just, they're not learning from their lessons, that's what I'm sorry. Oh no, I was just going to always skip confuses me mate, I have never seen a professional footballer, who has, what is he, 24 or something? Yeah, it looks like a 42 year old plumber, power follows me, but it's not really, I know you can't wait to talk about this one, Spurs being Everton, four goals to one at the weekend, getting a win and yeah, score some really good goals, assume I'm with, with the pick of the bunch, being brought back in by a postcard club and then scoring score and a screamer, but ever and all over the place, I mean the third goal, for a strong diet team to concede that tight, is it the third goal, yeah, is it the third goal, or is it the fourth goal wearing the third goal? The second one where Peckford decides to not kick it off, even that, you know, that, that is a shocker, but the damn thing where he just runs the full pitch and the amount of spice he's got, and it's just, it's shocking, but yeah, on the never inside of things, you've got to be worried, washing that for sure. Well, so the best start of the weekend is obviously an Everton start, Everton have remained without a single win, in the whole of August for the last four years, that is absolutely bonkers, imagine that, how that even comes about, so the auditorium is slow starters, the one thing I would, I don't know if you'd both listened to last week part, but when me and Johnny were talking to one thing that stood out to me in the weekend, in the last week's defeat was that they made like sick signings and only one, one of them was good enough to start the game, it was exactly the same again at the weekend, and you can argue that some of the signings that they made are attacking and defensive, and they brought two central defenders, they paid a lot of money for the lad up, is it O'Brien, the Irish lad that they brought from Leon, he's got a massive big reputation of being, you know, him alongside Brantwaite is apparently the future, Brantwaite's not going to touch the team at the moment, I don't know if he's injured or if his head's been tamed with these transfigures or something, yeah, the lad who played last night is it and die, he's going to have some cracking goal last night, and you just think, why is he not playing with these guys, what's the crack? The one thing that does surprise, and that's why I laugh at the old guys, the whole thing is that everything don't usually go away before they get battered 4-0, and they just looked so poor at the weekend, I think up until the first goal went in, before the first time goal went in, I think everything had a chance, but there was just no link up play, there was no holdup play, the defence, the defences got an average of like 900 years old or something, Jonny, I don't know if you would have seen it, but Everton last night, Ashley Young came on in like an 82nd minute, he was booked in the 83rd minute, this lad just, he just doesn't know how he really can't stay pace with these people, I think they're in the diet, I really do, the notorious late starters that doesn't look as though they're going to get any transfers coming in before the deadline, should therefore they go on with what they've got, and if Daish is deeming the five lads his broad teners not starters in a Premier League match, that's where the body is. At this rate, Daish will be out before 10-0 will be out. I actually think Everton squad-wise, and we've directed at the helm, I think they'll be okay, this season just could go either way, but I think that's a football club, that even if they do scrape it again this season, it's not automatically going to change again next season, they're going down in the next few years, because this- Deflated with it for the last three, haven't they? The last three seasons, they were very, very flitted with it. I think they were only lucky last year, because there was so many teams worse than them, and that was where Everton with points deduction, like, you know, my rate in thinking, I think the start was as Everton hit one, sorry, it kept clean sheets in the last five games of the season, therefore, they were grinding at results, just don't kind of end the end, even though. Yeah, I noticed, did you know, the Romeros go, it was a dead ball, and it was just a sample on Matt, bill ahead, you never really see Everton can see them later, and that was really frequent in that game. I did like the lads, I thought a good sign in for Spurs was a lad old about, I called him last year, remember, I said he was probably the only thing we're talking about for Bumley, I think he's a good lad. Yeah, for Everton's possibility, it does look a talent, but the only thing I noticed for Everton, it looked like maybe a small league in the dark, it was a lad Lindstrom, looked like he might be OK, he gave them a wee bit of edge, but I live in the heart of a round run. Found I'm just trying to shiver that, sorry. On the side of things, we've been waiting to get you on to talk about girls. He missed out at the weekend, but Spurs obviously didn't need him scoring four goals, looking good going forward, but do you honestly think that that would be, that is a really good sign in for Spurs this season? I was disappointed, I wasn't able to get on the predictions one, and just defend myself a little bit, to show her wankers laughing at me behind my back, for all the listeners to hear. I think Spurs have liked a number nine since Harry Kane went, and if we go back to when we spoke about Harry Kane as a Spurs player, we always spoke about Spurs having a prayer, which is one of the best in the world, but you're relying on building your team around him, so it probably was never suited to the type of football that sports events were what I played. It's very hard to wear a legend number nine. I find the sports you see now, it's more popular seeing this podcast, but I'm supposed to call girls, brand of football, it's dynamic, it's aggressive, it's extremely watching, it's very fluid. A rigid number nine doesn't need to give you that, but I find the moment it's a line case, it's not an out and out and go shoulder like Harry Kane, but I do see him really feeling well with the brand of football that Spurs play, and I don't think they need to change their system to show home, have my natural thinking compliments it, and they will feel up there, suddenly going play elsewhere, because I do think, I mean, as much as the yesterday or two girls at the weekend playing through the middle, I do still think he's wasted through the middle. I see he's supposed to train a lot of chances, but I think the main social struggle against the top team is your Arsenal, your man cities, but their absolute dog meat like ever. I find I've got to crucify time and time again, they'll take plenty of girls off Southampton, North Forest, you know, even the lights are even the lights are bold. I think when suppose we're on the game, you'll see a lot of high school results, and that's why I've tipped someone and gave it as my 12 goal scroller. Come at me. Wait, was that your defence or was that you just speaking about the game? How about both? No. Johnny, I do want to move on, but just before we do, I've got to talk about the reaction to the evidence supporters at the train station that I'm sure you've seen, which I think this one is a big debate, whether it's fair or not, but what is mopage reaction all about, by the way? That is, I know he's getting abused, but just get yourself on the train, get his health out, and there's just no need for it. I mean, it's nothing new be mopage. He is a short-asked, tiny tech witch. He's never out of trouble. He's a massive shithouse. That's what he does. The government, fans of sale, understand the frustration. Yeah, I do get it. Yeah, I get it. And I'm a believer that especially those with season tickets, you go to a lot of games, buy a lot of merch and that. They're allowed to have an opinion. They can be pissed off. As long as you, I think you have to invent it constructively, just spitting bile abuse at your own place, that is a no-no for me. I don't think that helps or does anything good, or does his trans player's heads in the wrong direction. So, I don't agree with it, but I can understand why, but I think it has to be more constructive. And I think that's probably just the walk we've seen. That's just going to be the tip of the ice part of the season forever, the way it's looking. Like the whole thing with Jamie said, the brand to it. And I think there's a good chance that lad moves as well. The dual-look poor, the flippied for the last three years, two years they got out in the last day, they can't keep dodging it like that. And I don't think they've improved enough in terms of spent in the squad to make any difference to that. So, I think shouting at somebody in the train station is probably just a tough moment. Did you hear the most ridiculous justification for it? I think it was just a little talk radio set that he said he blames the railway stations because they canceled four trains before it, which meant the fans were still pissed off because they couldn't get a train. And apparently that was the reason why they were shouting at the place. He's like, "Well, no, I'm shame because we're f*cking angry." As long as it doesn't overstep a mark, you're a professional footballer and you're going to get it. Johnny, I'll say to you to come back to you again, talk about Manchester City, winning again, 4-1 against Ipswich, Ipswich, Goa Goa, Sami Tomodix, just signed from Blackburn, concerning for Ipswich. You still actually pay with Sami, a culture star and he's had an unbelievable career at the end really now to be in a Premier League. So, all the best to him, but it was short-lived and Holland goes and bangs a hat-trickin. And he just looks sharp and when he's in the mood, he just foot dangerous. You know what, for once mate, I'm not going to buy any of that. Get your controversy, huh? I'm sorry. It's Ipswich. It's not really on the drive. They helped me blow away by Barcelona. It's Ipswich. You have just came up and their star signing as the championship top golf score. Yeah, and I like the boy, but I mean, at least wanted to. I think he's excellent. He was dynamic football and I was really happy to see them get dope and go as much as I was shocked. I was happy to see it. It's a bold standard result. Hey, Pride members. I don't think those men are going to be on the free phone now. I think I went phone now. That was what I predicted. I think that polar would have been a general consensus across the both. What I'm getting is I can appreciate a heart rate. I appreciate how the play. They do this virtually every week. It was on the carbs as one trying to say. You don't need a mistake to tell you that was going to be the result we were going to get on Saturday. I felt bad for Ipswich in a sense, most so because of the open other five, I went there. I've had the level of the game. They went to Saturday. I'm going to arguably the worst place to go. I'm going to start. The fixture is even out of you but now me. It's going to be interesting to see how they get on. They've got games you would hope they'll get something from. We'll get a good journey on then. I think the first two were pretty much mulligans. So yeah, for say, standard when they've done what they had to do, I can't say I'm wasn't blown away by it. I feel to be just another say when. No, it wasn't. It was expected. Jamie, it wasn't expected. I think it's more of the point is I just had to think hard and again. I know it's only Ipswich but the third goal for me told me everything. Do you know what it has, Mason? It's Johnny, don't you do the triple captain on highland? Maybe you'll go and ask him who did. He wasn't the boozer and he was texting me. He was fucking livid. Listen, I think that's like a sex hat trick in the Premier League alone. I'm sorry for playing for Manchester alone. The latter is a bit of a phenom. It was funny that the channel I was watching with the game on spent that many times showing the Ipswich. We played that they actually missed the city equalizer because it was scored so quickly after the boy going down to the bounds. Howlin's second goal. Really, really like that. Quick ball over the top. Keep it comes out, no man's landed. Howlin just nods it around him and you just take that proper predatory goal. He's third goal. I'm going to go against Johnny. I would always normally back to Johnny in terms of rationale. When is last time you see Howlin scored 25-year Daisy Carter in the bottom corner? It's an absolute belt. The fact with Kevin De Bruyne, people are saying that's because it's Kevin De Bruyne. Howlin did really, really well. Howlin probably should have had a bit of sex goals that came. I'm surprised because Petn on the holes him off after about 45 minutes. If he's coming close to a hat trick and he didn't, he kept him on. But again, you could probably look at that. The fact that they don't have somebody like Julian Alvarez as a backup now, so he might get more minutes. I was actually more impressed with the Las Savino. He looks at players, don't he? Like, you know, wrap it on the ball. He's done that for two games now. I think he went off field. I think he went off halfway for the second off with a bit of a bit of an injury, but he looks a bit of a ball. Said he would untested. I would say the first two games that Johnny says they'll have better games coming up. Johnny's also right and nobody would have picked this game to be less than three goals. You know, I think I had at five no for my predictions. So it says what it says. The one thing I would call out when we started talking about it last season is set his inability to keep a clean sheet because that happened again, you know, and you look at the goal, Edison uncharacterously comes way out of his box, has no need to do that. He's got time to defend this chase and smudge it either side. Didn't need to come that far out, but he did. That would be the, you know, the one thing you would go. But I mean, it didn't really hurt that much last season due to that. So, you know, I was happy how he got his heart trick. Could have got more, but say, let's just have an invisibility beast, don't you? Yeah, he is. And I think Johnny summed up. Heaps would say to play quite well, but Colin, and we're going to be going back to Man City. A little bit of a surprise. That one, I think, we were expected to see him at Barcelona for another season. But again, those are the plays at an unbelievable season before joining Barcelona. Would you make an app signing? And also, I've got to ask, obviously, a lot of noise around Kyogo going to play second fiddle to Harland and play that over as well. What do you honestly think of that? It has quietened down a little bit, but obviously there is still a couple of days to go in the window. I've started with Kyogo one. This is just how our dreams is arguably the best to each other. Scotland, but we know the jump between the Scottish weekend and the bottom of it. I just find the mental Man City. I've been really good at not just buying benchmarks. They've been using not the young players for that. We've seen that young boy right here, who's the young boy in the middle of the park? It was playing again because of his dreams. So I know he's a defender, but time and time again, we see that we've done these young players very, very well, tons of many big team players, big players for the team. Kyogo is not going to be your Alvarez replacement. They've just spent money on that boy in the Brazilian boy in the summer as well. I think he'll be the replacement for Alvarez, and maybe A and other. I think he will be some day either 10 years younger than Kyogo, and they'll play the man or twice as well. So it's not quite, when Man City is playing in the early 20s, it's a start. It's someday he's going to go in and instantly improve the foster webinar, at least be in the rotation fairly regularly. So I hope it's just a dramatic process I would say, but I don't see it happening for the way for me. Grindelwan's a terrific sign. He gave you that stability in the middle of the park, and I think working a man, he's teaming the goal. They can see this as well. I think it's very easy when you've got all these words in front of you to almost switch off defensively, but I don't know. The very, very top half, I hope you know what I mean with that. So Grindelwan and maybe another defender before the transfer window shots, I think, just keeps saying no on the right side, because the good thing about Man City, the one way or the other one or two players are way for keeping the momentum going and improving and keeping it fresh, will keep the quality. So Grindelwan's a great sign. Yeah, it is a solid one, another leader in that dressing room. Jamie Arsenal looked like they were toiling, and then managed to get too late goals to win the game. I think Villa was quite, I wasn't too impressed with Villa, but what I will say is Raya pulls off an unbelievable save to stop Watkins putting him on the weapon. I think if that goes in, you know, I'm steady obviously, except we keep him. It was really hard. He's still, he gets up quick for me. I mean, what can you choose score? What can you choose score? I will give Raya a credit, because I think I gave him quite a lot of help in his last season, but solid win for us for the wake of my home. Yeah, and me and Johnny called it the last week on the board that we anticipated Arsenal would actually get a win against them, because I think they went three or four games without beating Aston Villa over the last two seasons. It was inevitable. Arsenal seemed to progress and develop, where they don't win the title. They finished second the next year and all that kind of stuff. It just made sense that Villa can, I don't want to say Villa is spinning plates, but there's this whole and there's all this talk about Villa about how they're going to manage Champions League, how they're going to manage the cups. I think it's more how they're going to manage their own players, because as you said, that you go back to this time last season, what can this probably score three goals by now? And he's now for two, and now let's talk about whether John Duran starts and what can sit, you just think, is this rotation? Is this panic, what was going on? It's quite obvious that Unity elements, who I really do like, is not the ideal replacement for Douglas Louise. I think Douglas Louise commanded them at field, and I just think that's missing. Anticipated McGinn to be a bit of a more of a shithouse. McGinn's got that tenacity about him, where he's dogged and he gets involved, and John will tell you McGinn, like Macquodin, I hadn't done for a foul. He's the only person out of the whole selection that didn't cause a foul. That's not very John McGinn-like, and that's what I mean. You can actually tell if he plays changing, whether he's trying to be more dynamic with a ball, they kind of need to get back to what they know, what they're doing, which has been kind of being the underdog. That's probably the way you put it. When they bring the underdog and they get these flash results, and you go, "Oof, now we need to take note of us to Villa." The moment we take note of us to Villa, it just becomes a bit mediocre. Do the other good win in the first week. I would say an inevitable loss this weekend. I think about a couple of weeks coming up. They've got the Champions League draw, obviously, tomorrow. I think Villa Play, who are Villa Play this weekend? Villa are playing. They're a way to Leicester. We've just sat here and said, "The Leicester need to start picking up points." You wouldn't be surprised if Leicester tried to make a first of it, if they don't, as to Villa be certain, pretty. I think what we might find compared to last season is that where, as Villa went, remember, Villa went on that crazy run, where they hadn't lost it. They had conceded a single point or something in 19 games at home. I wouldn't be surprised if we'd go if it's Gio, or if it's like when to lose one, lose one, lose one, when to, I just think they're going to have a very, very different season. They've got some good talent. I like the point, is it? It's the name of Roger's. I don't know much about him until I see him in pre-season. He looks like I find, but they've got a couple of people like that. Me and Johnny have talked about a lot. They've got this at Jacob Ramsey. He's a crack in all place, not even getting on the park at the moment. I think there's going to be a bit of the squad, the rotation, and how we get out of out. Yeah, no, definitely. I agree with that. Johnny, on a nice little side of things, they've signed Marino yesterday to come into that midfield, and watching the game, I did think that they're definitely missing a number eight. Bryce, for as good he is off the ball, just someone that's going to go and fizz balls into the centre forward and play it a bit more adventurous with a set promoter I think is what they're missing. So it'd be interesting to see what Marino does, but within Kettia, looking like he's going to move to Palace again, Arsenal looks like it's going to be another window without signing a striker. I just can't see, I think even Liverpool in the signing, look at the four players that they've got. I personally will come to Liverpool in a sec, but I still think they've got a more firepower, and I think that's what's holding Arsenal back. Would you agree with that? I've said the same for, I don't know how many seasons now, three, two, I don't know. Since they've improved and started seriously contending for the title, we'll go with that. It's always saying they need a striker, even when they signed the sign, sorry, Jesus, not an out-and-out goal scorer. He's more than a link-up player. He'll get you in a bit, I don't know, 15 of the season, 20 push. That's a good season for him, but an out-and-out number nine, we're having to go back a long time for the hard one to actually done really well. So I mean, even within KTL, I would say yes, they need one, but I mean, I think it just seems to be, I think it's going to be the way he goes, that he gets enough goals for midfield. And it does, to be fair, there was long stages last season, they were born pretty much everybody out of the war. I mean, they went on a run, I remember it was like five now, five now, and they got a bit mental, so they do get the goals without that. But I think it would improve them, absolutely. And I thought the game at the weekend was decent. I thought they were okay, first half, I thought they were quite good. They made it really difficult in the middle of the park for the probably what you're saying there, maybe that's where they like to weave it, ask them the middle of the park, but what can's message the two big chances? It gets them, as you said, totally different game, but then they give Arsenal just the drop again in the second half and get the win, a good professional performance. But yeah, I think a striker would definitely improve them, whether a defender agrees that that's the question. I mean, I'll give credit, so we actually spot on to come through and win the game in the end, because I did think there was a point in the game where I thought they're going to drop points already, because they don't have that plan B and that, you know, that Ivan Tony, which I think would be perfect. Obviously, we spoke about that, I think Jamie Whitehouse won't do that deal. So yeah, maybe one to watch in the next couple of days, but I think I think you're right, and I think that the artist is going to go with what he's got, strictly. I'm no type of controversial or controversial, but I don't really worry about Arsenal's ability to struggle, so that's all that we need to go for, we need to go and get a striker. Yes, it will help massively. I don't think that Arsenal's that I guess, don't take no chances. I think that actually goes for elsewhere in the pitch. I mean, we've seen what was to all start to come on, first check out of all, like, how many did he get last year as well, like, just having a quick run through those. There's so many goals for all over the pitch, and I think even your later deck when they spot them up with 67 a year, they are good. That's how they set up. They don't just rely on cycles. I like that missing, I don't even make the office example where the team that we talked about all the time, but I find that if you're not going to rely on it, and I say number nine, then you need goals for everything on the pitch. I find that they can maybe have that more grit in the midfield for when one of the off days when it isn't going quite your way, because I do find the opportunity to go here and there. I don't think Arsenal will struggle with goals this season. I think the difference will be calling is that they rely so much on people like Saka, on not losing their own games, that when Saka doesn't play, then where do the goals come from? Because he pretty much either scores or assists 90% of the goals that happen for Arsenal. I think that's the danger. Martin Ali two seasons ago was unplayable. Klopp, the team turned on and said that this lad's going to be the amazing. Andries, he's fell off a cliff. Trossard comes on, guess who's out of goal? My crossard down needs to play more games. They don't have the same ability when it comes to something like Saka. Saka's understudy, I feel like, for the last two seasons was a male Smith role, who's now just moved to Fulham. So it is probably just a big drop off. If they do get a big injury, do they then still have the same goals? Do they still have the same kind of depth? It's probably more of a better argument, if you like. I think if you, if you were to put a slunk in it, I thought it completely changes how they play, if that's a line. It doesn't do that. It hasn't obviously been chopping them in the goals. No, no, no, a small counter with that. Although I still think a decent strike could improve them, or at least gives them that second option a different way of play. There was a long, strong shout when Harlan came in that although there was a potential for a dynamite player there, that he would upset that side rhythm. They got goals all over the part. They got the more of them, I feel that's when you have Gundigan, Marais, all these guys rattling them, and I don't think Harlan's good because when he first started, he never scored for the first few games. And remember the community shield, missed all the chances, and there was this outrage, you know, it's changed the shape, they're not looking as good, and we know how that one looked at. But I think the key thing for Harlan is that something like Fulham was coming through the ranks at the same time, and the two of them have developed that partnership. If you go back to his door in days, he had Jaden Sancho coming through, did exactly the same, he's always that person to play off. Breaking somebody else's watch, no soccer probably just needs somebody more concrete, shall we say, to play with to share the goals out. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, and Colin, I'll just come to you on this one, because it was a controversial one, Bournemouth, one Newcastle one. To be honest, the watch did not hit the nothing game really, it disappointed Newcastle from being honest, but I think they will, I think they're looking at this for actually, they will struggle this season. But Bournemouth, I've got to feel extremely hard done by here to get a late goal chopped off for the BAR decision. What did you make of that first and foremost? Shambles, I've thought shambles had a decision at, I always try and go with, if it was my club, if it was my team, and I think that's how bad would I feel. Also, even when you get the right decision again, she goes to your club, but I would be sick as a dog of our hand. For me, it's much closer to shoulder than the arm, and I think this is probably a big issue that we see with our team time again, when it is on sale, until we used to get the benefit of a doubt for these, or, you know, a common sense benefit every day with that, it doesn't go anymore, it's often the job of that seems to be the kind, the undertone that we get with the big goals, I don't know what you boys think, but I think it's an absolute shambles that was called off. I absolutely agree. They should have had a goal as well, and in the first game against Northern Forex, they should be on six points because it's two. Jamie, Johnny, anything to add on on that? I would say I feel massively disappointed for them, but I think it's factually right, and it's only realised that it's actually right when you look at the rules. If you look at the rules, this whole thing about being the T-shirt line is actually not a thing. The rule book changed two years ago, and it's now from, if it's now from the shoulder that says any part of this is a we call it a factual handle based on the rules and the picture frame, the pictures to put up this picture thing on the TV to show you what it actually shows us, and it hits here. It doesn't hit there. It doesn't hit there. It hits on the shoulder, if you link the ball socket of the arm. Based on their graphic, it's a factual handle. What I do have an issue with it is that rather than them declaring it a factual handle, I would have rather them to have said to the ref go and have a look at that. If the ref still thinks that's handled and that's his decision, if he says no, I'm comfortable with that, then that's fine. VAR's intervened. Give him another opportunity to look at it, and he's made a choice. This point of he doesn't even get a chance to see it, I think is probably where the frustration comes from, because any other time would be go to the morning to have a little look at this. This wasn't because apparently it's a factual arm at handball. They don't tell the ref to go and review it because it's an actual handball. That's where I think they're disappointing this, but I think that's cause. If I was born with that, I'd be fuming because they should be second points. I thought it was boring. Understand what Jim is saying. I've seen the same graphic that they cut off where he's shown you, which is kind of, I think I've seen down the corner of your shoulder and your armpit, the ball actually hits on that area. My argument would be it's not clear. You would have to have a measuring tape to know exactly where that ball went. That's where you see it's not clear and obvious. Play on. I think that's all going to have a little look at it, just to make sure you're comfortable with it. It's just, and then we hear a new thing every season. Handball changes every season and they can never get it right. I'm trying to remove the subject of side it away, that field, trying to make it more down, straight, black and white. That's field. No, they're not. It's a factual handball. What, no, let me go and find out what that is. Well, it's got a quote here. There's two things for me. Jamie, you made me say to that. That's the point. Jamie used to be my manager and anything was getting just for some. It'd be, I'm disappointed for you, but it's factual, correct? And I'm reposed. What is that called? It's used to. I know this is very much if my handball is blah, blah, blah. But if that's a defender, well, the ball, it's in that. And the scenario where the defender's jumping, and a challenge, and I don't see that being given. As a penalty, I don't see it being, and I think it's wildly, wildly unfair. I know they seem to get defenders' protection for, you know, football gets shipped after them. I don't think any, and they talk for you rest are going to have a pain away for that. No, let's speak of the Joel and Tignale code at the end. Yeah, so teaming. Absolutely, I can't believe it. Close line and then slam to the floral in one motion, wouldn't it? It's definitely another one. And Jamie, just on the last game, again, not much for us already to discuss. I think we'll pretty much agree, but six point, six point, I think that's something that you called it, and early on, and I actually agree for us being Southampton, Southampton. And I actually was disappointed here with Southampton. I thought that at least come out and have a go, I thought they was really quick after the first after the weekly play against Newcastle in the first game. They obviously lost that game, but they were, they were very attacky, bright, and he has people loved to eat him. Obviously, we've had that conversation, but you expected them to have done more. And I think for us, just kind of put them to bed, really. I think we'll see that quite a lot from Southampton. Lack of striker, you know, or lack of cutting edge, shall we say, it's very similar to the Leicester, they've caught a very championship team, you know, all ex-premially players at some point, drop down and struggle to move on. I think they are losing, I think they've just lost arguably, I think we had the, I remember they had the lead algorithms, it was on loan at Juventus, he's now went back to South America. So again, you know, they're not keeping arguably some of the better players. I think Southampton, they're going to be in the Maya. I called it the second point, just based on me being the only one that didn't have them as relegation favourites. But all you guys obviously stood to me up and stuck them in the relegation house. So it kind of felt like a second point, but it's probably more of a second point of the Southampton than at what's been on the forest. And I think it just played out exactly like that, I don't think it was much else to add, you know, they probably could have had two or three goals, but I think we'll see more, more of the same to be fair when it comes to Southampton and not the forest. Yeah, none of that, agree with that. Johnny, player in a washer about, and I know you're a big fan even though he's going to be joining Liverpool in the UK, is it 12 or 15 million feet, which I think is 12 million euros, 10 million pounds. That is a really good deal for Liverpool. Johnny, what's your thoughts on that one? I think it's a good movement. I said I was talking to your last people about it, there's a lot of players that come from Italy for the Italian leagues, and you know what, it's a more, it's a slower league, it's more, I don't know what to say, lethargic, it's just much slower pace that as English league can be 100 miles an hour. But he's a very, very feisty player, and he'll run his cell into the ground and he's quick, and I think that's a whole sum. I do, I think Liverpool sum the way they move, the way that they're a fluid team, they get forward and waves, and I think, I think he'll fit right in there. I think he may have a wee bit of a tough time getting his cell, get a foothold in the team. I mean, slots got them they've started really, really well, but for the price, mate's a good signer. I think keeping them injury free, it's going to be a big part of it. If they can keep on injury free, it'll be a good addition to that score. They had a horrible injury before in last season at the front, certainly front half, it was a bad one. So obviously, they must, they'll know what they're doing, mate, they'll have done the medicals, they'll think he's strong enough. But yeah, if he keeps injury free, mate, I see him doing my on the Premier League. I do like him with what I've wait for for a long time. I think it's an expert signer for again to give him another option. Colin, to finish this off this week, I'm going to give you a little fun one. There's a lot of noise around Raheem Sterling leaving Chelsea and also Jaden Sancho leaving Manchester United. Both clubs, I think, will be happy to get rid of Eva. But if you had the choice of a Premier League up and you could sign well into, which one would it be or why? I don't think so. Sorry. What problem would I put this? Well, I don't know if I'm a manager, but what would I take? Yeah, yeah. The last one, I just sent you Sancho to be decked, so I would take Sterling, that's quite the boy. I think Sancho has more potential. I'm always there and it's wildly inconsistent, man. But other than, I don't know, I just have a rational display to him, so Raheem Sterling is for me. Perfect. Not all that's left to do, gents, is faking it for this week. Jamie, thanks for this week, Matt. Absolutely spot on, thank you very much for having me back on. Johnny, thanks as always. You always caught me in my last year, caught me there, don't you? It's not on purpose, I promise. I've enjoyed it, mate. It's always a good fun. Thanks for having me. Next week I'll be back when Chelsea have signed big I've been 20 and I'll be buzzing. I was saving that, I'm planning to. Thanks, mate, and thanks, Colin. It was a pleasure to have you all, gents. Thank you. Nice one. We'll be back next week to talk over again. Hopefully, some exciting transfers and the latest Premier League week. So, as always, thanks for listening and take care.
