How you doing? This is, of course, the week three preview show. It's going to take a little while to get back into the flow of things, but I'll get it. I'll get it down. Coming at you on a Wednesday, September 11th. Very sombre day, especially me, you know, being a 30-something, you know, almost getting closer to 40 every year, 20, what was it, 23 years ago? Yeah, it was a American tragedy and kind of bittersweet to do this episode on my day like today, a you know, sombre day, but never forget. Never take family for granted, never take firemen and, you know, cops and all these other people for granted because you never know when they can save your life and never feel too safe either. I mean, you never know what can happen on any given day, you know, anybody's life can change and, you know, a blink of an eye or the snap of a finger. Just I'll never forget that day. You could ask me what I ate for dinner last night and I would not know. I'd probably forget, but I can tell you every single thing that happened that said that day to the time, just a real scary day, if you're young out there, feel happy that, you know, you didn't have to experience that fear, uncertainty, just a lot of emotions that just when you're in, you know, I was at a school, you know, I think I was in ninth grade, I think, and yeah, just scary, really was, just didn't know what was going to happen next or who, when, where, how, yeah, I know it was just crazy, but I just have a moment of silence for all those unfortunate souls that, you know, lost their life that day because of a terrorism attack. All right, like I said, it's September 11th, you know, it's we're getting into the, you know, beginnings of college football, you know, we're in week three, I don't consider it fall yet, I know people think, oh, it's football, it means it's fall, in Texas, it's still pretty warm. We haven't got to fall weather, I mean, fall in Texas only lasts about three weeks, you know, instead of three months, summer, last through, sometimes, September, and then October you get some fall, and then by the time that happens November the ride around the corner and it's starting to get cold, so it's, it's just weird in Texas where I live, the weather. But like I said, it's, it's, it's around the corner where, you know, summer is, you know, rounding third, so to speak, heading home and fall is about to, you know, step up to that, but you know, we're here with week three, um, kind of wish I would have looked into week three, you know, right before I put out the week two, you know, review show because this is, this week is fire, I mean, it really is, this is a, I'm going to go ahead and say it, it's a great rivalry week, there's a lot of good rivalry games, and I'm going to call it upset Saturday, I know that usually doesn't happen until October, you know, which usually when week six, week seven, about halfway through the season, kind of when you know who you are at that point, you know who's good at that point, and there's going to be some upsets, I mean, hell, there are already some upsets, but that's what I always said before in some of the previous shows that I don't like preseason polls, these teams are never, you know, I've yet to play a snap, but they're supposed to be the, you know, the preseason number ten team in the country, i.e. Florida State and they have yet to get a dub, and that was just their non-conference schedule, you know, what's going to happen when they actually play their conference games, but you know, can't change it, can't rearrange it, you kind of have to just deal with it, and another week is upon us, I'm calling it upset weekend, I really am, I think there will be at least two, maybe even three, and then with rivalry, yeah, rivalry week, a lot of rivalry games, you know, one team can be oh and two, and the other team can be two and oh with a number next to them, and that team with that number next to them to get loose, any given Saturday, absolutely, it's going to be a great weekend, I hope you guys tune into at least a couple of these, this one's hard because I know I said I don't like giving you guys too many games in, you know, one time slot, I kind of have to this week, there's just too many games to forget about or, you know, move to the side and not, you know, preview it because it's an important game, I think every single one of these games have, you know, conference, you know, challenge, you know, conference championship admiration, you know, playoff admiration, state admiration, you know, things like that, and it's still preseason, not preseason, it's a non-conference season, yeah, you're going to get a couple of games every once in a while, like, yeah, like last week, and then this week that it's going to be a conference game and then sometimes at the SEC especially, second to last week of the seasons, their last non-conference game, it's so weird, but let's get into it, I got 14 game free guys and that was trimming it down, I probably could have gave you a couple of more, not even kidding, this was hard, some games absolutely, I have to, but I always go through these games and just look into it, look into the spread, look at the two teams, look at the two coaches, look at their two respective conferences, I always throw in a little guy, you know, a non-power, you know, four, just because sometimes those games, man, they're going to mean something, I promise you, so let's start off with the first game and it starts Thursday, so I'm recording of course the 11th, this will be the 12th, so this game, the show should be out Thursday morning, Thursday afternoon-ish, at least by the time that this game comes on, so like I said, this is the 12th, Thursday at 6.30 on ESPN, this is Arizona State coming in 2-0, hardly big 12, going down to San Marcus to play the Texas State Bobcats, if you'll remember the Texas State team beat the living breaks off of UTSA last week, you know, a game that was favored by one, one and a half points and kind of a rivalry game, you know, two small conferences going up against each other and Texas State beat the breaks off UTSA, so I think this is going to be a very good game, Arizona State is favored by one and a half, over ander on this one is 59 and a half, this would be an upset if Texas State upsets Arizona State, big boy conference versus a little conference is David versus Goliath, there's a lot of outlying things, this is a good non-conference win for each team, I know if Arizona State wins, they'll say, you know, a big 12 team beat a, you know, son belt team, doesn't really necessarily look good on your resume, but Arizona State will be 3-0 and Arizona State and along with Houston, and maybe like a BYU were picked to finish in the bottom half of the big 12, this is one of those wins, you know, this is one of those resume builders because let's say Texas State only loses this game, finishes 11 and 1, you know, gets ranked, gets, you know, the highest ranked non-power or 4, greater 5 team and they get to make the playoff, that's a huge win for them, so be careful, be wary of this game, I'm calling it upset Saturday already or upset week, you know, for week 3 sorry because it starts tomorrow, don't be surprised, if San Marquez is absolutely nuts, this is a big boy school coming to their little town, to their little stadium, and it's going to be raucous, and don't be surprised with Texas State upsets, and I'm actually going to call it, Texas State upsets, Arizona State, Thursday 630 on ESPN, over and under on this one's 59 and a half, and like I said Arizona State is favored by one and a half, that tells you these people are predicting a good game. Alright, we're moving to Friday, this is September 13th, this is a 6 o'clock kickoff on ESPN, this is the UNLV running Rebels 2 and 0, going to Kansas, to Lawrence to play the Jayhawks, the once, you know, ranked Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas struggled last week, I do believe it was with Illinois or Syracuse, yeah, it was Illinois, Syracuse knocked up Georgia Tech, and UNLV has just been hanging up points left and right, I know this is your hardest test of the week, but yet again this has that same aura, that same feel of the last game, I just talked about a smaller conference, going to, you know, stepping up in weight class, going to actual Gayhawks fields at Arrowhead, you know, where the Chiefs are playing, so if you want to watch somebody other than the Chiefs, you know, play in Chiefs Stadium, it's gonna be a good game, like I said, this has got upset written all over it again, Kansas is only favored by seven, over and under on this one is 58, I would give this like a ranking system of the higher the number, the more potential for the upset, because I would put Arizona State and Texas State, the game I talked about earlier, I'd probably put that at like a six or seven, you know, it's pretty likely to happen, this is more of like a four or five, you know, Kansas didn't play very well, I expect them to play well on Friday night, but it's there, in IU just beat Notre Dame, like I said, I'll never count out the little guys ever, I think it's gonna be a great game, but Kansas being only favored by seven and the over and under on this one is 58, so it's gonna be a great game. Moving on, we're going into the Saturday slate, of course that is the 14th of September, starting off, of course, the earliest possible game, and this is at 11 a.m., central standard time, and like I said, judge accordingly, this is just where it is and my part of the country, so you know, East Coast, you know, you subtract, you know, add the audio, just remember, okay, 11 o'clock ESPN, sorry, this is the Memphis Tigers, and they are going to Florida State to play the once number 10 team in the country, the Seminoles. This is a team in Memphis. I'm pretty sure I talked about them when I did the AAC. That, you know, this is a two lane. This is a, uh, some of those other schools in that conference, I predicted, could, you know, shock the world. A lot of people are actually saying if it's not going to be a two lane, a Boise State, a JMU, it could be a Memphis. And this is a team that is only up and up in the Tigers and the on their other side. A team that's down real bad right now that once the 10th team in the country, they could fall to 0 and 3. And you want to talk about the sky is falling down there in Seminole Land that it would be absolutely nuts. Florida State is only favored by six and a half points over under on this one's 51 and a half, not predict, you know, predicting a lot of points. And I think that's just because the DJU in Florida State's offensive lack of production, I would say the last couple of times that they've been on the field, not shooting on Georgia Tech or BC, but that's not the best competition. It could be see when 10 games this year, sure. Could Georgia Tech win 10 games this year? Absolutely. But your canes is, I mean, your Florida State, you know, you are a big boy. You know, you, when people think of the ACC, they think about Clemson and Florida State. Could the wheels be falling off? Could something, you know, where there's smoke, there's fire, this could be the whole somebody throwing a air grenade on that fire and it just completely exploding and don't count out Memphis to not go there and win. I put this on a scale of one to 10, I'm going to call it the upset meter. I'm going to put this up here as a six or seven, maybe even seven and a half, maybe even eight. I think Memphis can do it. Where is this Florida State team that everybody thought was a top 10 team in preseason? I know I don't agree with it, of course, but at some point in time, Florida State's got to show something. You know, their season's technically not over. I predicted a lot of teams could go 10 and two and still make the playoff. I mean, Florida State technically could still buy for a conference championship. Yeah, they're going to win. They have to win damn near every single one of their remaining, you know, nine, 10 games, but you got to do it now. What if not here? Wow, it's not here to win. Memphis is going to, I think Memphis can do it. I'm going to put this at a six and a half, seven and a half. So if you want another upset potential, this is 11 o'clock in the morning after ESPN, after game day on the 14th Memphis going to Florida State. Another, my, I'm tongue died. Sorry, 11 a.m. as well. Same little bracket. This one's on Fox though. This is the big noon kickoff. You know, this is the one that they do the tailgate. They have their own little college game day experience with guys like Matt Linert and Ingram and Brady Quinn. And I'm trying to think of the other guy that usually does is urban minor. I think it's urban. You know, guys, they know they're football and they usually go to one of the biggest games of the week. And I think this is definitely potential as well. This is the number fourth ranked team in the country, the Alabama Crimson Tide coming in 2-0 out of the SEC going to Wisconsin. The 2-0 Badgers out of the big 10. Alabama's favored by 15 and a half. Over on your on this one is 50 and a half. So I know Alabama showed a lot of things to a lot of teams and a lot of fans the past couple of weeks have been playing some really good football. I'm not complaining. I'm not talking shit. I think this is a great team. I'm eating my words every time I see the Alabama Crimson Tide play. I thought maybe Kayla Naboor, him stepping into, you know, Nick Saban's old office having to take over his old team. It might just be a little bit more than he can chew, but he's showing otherwise Jalen Milbro is a dude. You know, if Alabama keeps winning, Jalen Milbro is the kind of guy that's going to end up in New York and could possibly hold east at 45-pound bronze trophy, but Wisconsin can do this. It is very possible. They have 18. They have that big 10 style of defense to limit in Alabama. Make it tight. Make them uncomfortable. Like I said, when I watched the ending from the probably halfway in the third quarter and the whole fourth quarter of the NIU Notre Dame game, you can tell Notre Dame was tight. You can tell that they were like, why are we barely beating this team? Why aren't we beating the brakes off of them? They kind of got out of the, they got in their own way, so to speak. And Wisconsin has that same sort of play style to complicate Alabama. Great home-filled advantage. Camp Randall Stadium is up there in the top 25 if I had to rank some of the best college football stadiums. Camp Randall is up there, man. They do jump around. This is a crazy environment. I know Alabama comes from a crazy environment. Some of these SEC schools have a crazier home-filled environment than them, but I think Alabama is one of those teams that thrive on hate. They love being the underdog. I know they're not technically the underdog, but they're going to have, you know, 85,000 people against them that day. Of course, they're trying to, you know, show them up, shut them up. And I put this one at a four on the 1 through 10 upset ranking, of course, one being not going to happen in 10. You can book it. It's very low, but don't be surprised if it keeps it tight. I don't like the spread. 15 and a half is a lot of points. Over under on this one's 15 and a half just about right. I see potential with Wisconsin. I did their schedule for a reason. There's always a team that just kind of comes out a B average team. And wins 19 games, upsets. A OI of say, upsets of Penn State, you know, upsets of Georgia or Alabama. Why not here? And this is also a great resume building game for both of these teams. So watch out. 11 AM on Fox. The Alabama Crimson Tide, the fourth ranked team in the country, going to Camp Randall to play the Wisconsin Badgers. We're also undefeated. All right, another 11 AM kickoff. I'm so sorry, but couldn't miss this game either. This one comes on ABC. Okay, we got the LSU Bayou Bengals coming in one and one 16th ranked team in the country going to South Carolina to play the two and O gamecocks. Probably not the most visual the most you would look at this matchup and go, Oh, I want to watch this game. I have it on my radar because South Carolina that was in that little group of, you know, teams from the SEC that I did not talk about. I did not predict their schedule. And they might just prove me wrong right here. Let the Bayou Bengals go down into South Carolina and get beat by the South Carolina team start their conference season one and O put LSU at one and two and just watch the anarchy happen. I have upset on this one. I probably put it out about a five. But would it be an upset for a ranked LSU team that just lost to a USC not too long ago going to a hostile environment in their conference and lose? I don't necessarily think that is that big of an upset. LSU still has a lot to show a lot of people. I know USC is technically better than them right now, but LSU has that SEC thing on their chest and they take it a little bit different. They take it a little more seriously. Like they always say, SEC, it means different. It means something different means something more. And they've got to show me something. LSU is favored by seven. So I think it's just over and under on this one is 50 and a half. Another smallish number haven't watched South Carolina. Couldn't tell you how they are 2 and 0 at all. But extreme things happen. Like I said, calm, calm in this upset weekend already in week three. Putting it this one probably about another four or five, four and a half, five. It's a possibility. Absolutely. I don't know who I'm pulling for, but I'm hoping for a good game. And this is also where game day is. So if you wake up early, like a lot of people do and turn on game day, that's where they are. This is the Boston College Eagles coming in as the 24th ranked team in the country 2-0. A lot of people remember BC was the one that knocked off like really knocked off. You know, Florida stayed a couple of weeks ago after of course Georgia Tech handed them their first loss. And they are going to Columbia to play the sixth ranked team in the country. The Missouri Tigers coming in 2-0 out of the SEC should be an interesting game. I ranked on ranked matchup. I know we'll learn a lot more about Florida State. You know, earlier that day, if Memphis does go into Doke Campbell Stadium in the B Florida State, that win won't look as good for BC. So I think BC is rooting for Florida State to beat Memphis. This is good. Dang, I am tongue-tied. This could be my Missouri's. You know, welcome to the limelight moment. I haven't really talked about them. I don't even think they've been on my preview show at all or rear review show. Callie, hold on. Let me get a drink. Something real quick. Callie. Oh, nothing like an octopus, right? Okay, yeah. Welcome to the limelight, a top 10 ranked Missouri team that is one of the highest ranked in the SEC. They're up there at six. He's a sneaky team. Nobody's really talking about this could be a welcome to, you know, hey, the big time, Mizzou. You go and you welcome MBC and you beat the brakes off of them. I would love to see it. Missouri's favored by 16 and a half. Very disrespectful to BC. And I put this one, I'm going to put this one at like a six. Missouri should beat the brakes off of them. I only put it at six because 16 and a half. And that's Bill O'Brien over there coaching these boys from BC. They're going to use that 16 and a half point, you know, on your dogs, he's going to play that card. He's going to get these guys to play super hard. I'm not going to say that this is going to be an outright upset. I'm going to call it, I would take BC in the points. If it's tight in the third quarter, maybe BC does do it. But also if Missouri just waxes BC, I learned a lot more about them. I just don't know enough about them yet. I know I talked about them in my preseason stuff and, you know, my summer stuff that could, this is a team that could make it into the College Football playoff at the end of the year. So either way, I'm going to learn about either team. All right. So over under on this one's 54. So that one comes on 1145 on the SEC Network, the 24th running Boston College Eagles going to Columbia to play the sixth ranked Missouri Tigers undefeated out of the SEC. All right. We're going into the 230 bracket, ESB and two. This is the backyard brawl yet again, another rivalry game. This is West Virginia coming in one in one out of the big 12, going to Pittsburgh to play the Panthers coming in to an O out of the, what is Pitt? Are they in the ACC? I think they're in the ACC. Yeah. I want to say ACC could be no. Are they in the big 10? I don't know. Sorry. I'm sorry if you're a pit fan. I'm going to go with ACC, though. This is a good game. This is a good rivalry game. This game is you might see some, some fits fly in this one. West Virginia's rivals are Penn State and Pittsburgh. These, they're very close to each other perennial location wise. They do not like each other. This is an old big East rivalry. I want to say, but it's up there. West Virginia is favored by two and a half. Over and under on this one, 60 and a half, expecting a little bit of scoring. Don't know yet much about Pitt right now. I know West Virginia, you know, kind of got handled by Penn State opening week. Don't really know where they got their first win from. I don't know who Pitts played. So definitely going to, you know, peek in on this game and any chance I get and see who's going to be up a contender in their respective conference. I wouldn't say it's an upset if Pitt does knock off West Virginia because like I said, with a rivalry game, you know, throw out the records, man. It could be a good game. I got to lean big 12 on this one, but I think playing at home should make a, you know, closer game. But if you want to see something very interesting, a rivalry game, watch 230 ESPN to West Virginia at Pitt, the backyard brawl. All right, another 230 kick. This one is on ESPN. And this one is the Tulane Green Wave coming in one and one going to Norman to play Oklahoma the two and oh sooners. You're probably saying CM Tulane just lost to case state. Oklahoma just barely beat Houston. This is the table of two teams. You're absolutely right. Who's the better team or use favorite by 13 and a half? That's not really that big of a spread over under on this one's 47 and a half. That is one of the lower numbers I have said all episode Tulane learned a lot from that case state loss. Last week did OU learn enough about that close hard win against, I'm not going to lie, an inferior opponent in the Houston Cougars. Of course, I'm leaning more towards Oklahoma at home. If you had a gun to my head, which team to pick, I would have to take Oklahoma. I mean, they're playing at home. This is a team that don't usually have brain farts two weeks in a row. They usually fix what, you know, ailed them the week before and they come out and they fire on all cylinders. I put this though as my upset ranking on my upset meter. I'd probably put it at a five. It's up there. It's not quite a six, not quite a four. I could see Tulane getting a little pissed off. They played case state very well. Could have won that game. Should have won that game. And Oklahoma should have beat the brakes off of Houston. And this game probably wouldn't even be on my preview sheet. So putting that a nice warm five, you know, average five. Don't be surprised if Tulane keeps it tight. Like I said, that is a pretty big spread 13 and a half over under 47 and a half. So 230 ESPN Tulane green wave going to Norman to play the Oklahoma Sooners. Oh, sorry about that. I came out of nowhere. All right, we're still in the 230 bracket. Like I said, I'm sorry, you're going to be flipping channels. But at least you got options. If one game ain't so hot, you can flip over to another one because see, I'm told you what channel. All right, this one's on Fox. This is the Civil War yet again, another rivalry game. This is the Oregon Ducks coming into and oh, the ninth ranked team in the country. Going to Corvallis to play the Oregon State beavers out of the Pac 12, who also come in undefeated. Oregon is favored by 16 and a half over on this one is 50 and a half. I have been talking mess about Oregon. Should have lost Boise State last week, barely beat Idaho. Now you have your Haven rival coming to your house or actually you have to go to their house. This is upset alert. I'm putting this at a nine, especially since how Oregon's been playing lately. This is I've been I've been saying this for weeks and I've been saying it there in the summer. Those two Pac 12 teams Washington State and Oregon State are going to play with their hats on fire all season. They're trying to show out for that flag that is holding them up. The only two teams in that conference and that is the Pac 12. Washington State did it last week with my team. My team just happened to be on that side of the field that day and I think they're going to beat a lot of teams that night. They played great. Oregon State loves to be big brother. I know big brother has beaten them quite a few times, probably the past 20 years. I'd probably say 15 and five if I had to guess. But this is also a rivalry game that's been played for probably over 75 years maybe even over 100. This is a great rivalry game. You want to talk about ugly? This is an ugly one. They call it the Civil War for a reason. Definitely in my top 10. If you want to go back and scroll for a little while find CM's favorite top 10 rivalries, it's in there. That's why I have to put it on my on my previous show. I see a great game. I think Oregon or Oregon State get too close. I take Oregon State in the and the points. Absolutely. Over and over under on this one's 50 and a half. I say over. Oregon's got to show me something and Oregon State can do the upset. So I'm putting this at a 9 on an upset meter. That's 230 on Fox, the Civil War, Oregon at Oregon State. All right, 230 again. Sorry. Peacock, though. This is another rivalry game. This is the Apple Cup. This is another hated rivalry. This is the Wazoo, you know, the Cougar, Saturday, Pack 12, coming in 2 and 0, going to Washington that played the Huskies 2 and 0 as well out of the Big Ten. Still kind of sounds weird that you're saying, you know, certain schools with a different conference affiliation. Another hated rivalry. The Apple Cup's been played for a long, long time at which they changed the number are the name, but Washington has the state known for Apple's. So it's a battle for an Apple. I don't even know if there's a trophy or not. YouTube is favored by four and a half at a small number. Over under on this one is 56 and a half. Jetfish. This is for Jetfish's first, you know, Apple Cup. I think with Wazoo, how they played last weekend as my Red Raiders, I give them a shot. I'm going to say, I'm going to put this at an eight on the upset meter. I think Wazoo can do it. Of course I predicted Washington to take steps back, losing their coach. This is how many players to the draft and transfer portal. I know Jetfish is a great coach. I have so much admiration for him, but Washington just kind of has to take a step back just like a Michigan. You can't run college football two years in a row. I know. See, George has done it. I put this upset mirror at a nine and a half. It's not a complete upset. I wouldn't say bet the house on it, but I like Colorado State, man. Just because I hate Colorado and like I said, I haven't seen Colorado gotten any better. I haven't necessarily watched any Colorado State games this year either, but I got to see it, man. I want to see it. If I find out that Colorado State knocks them off, I'd be so great. Yeah, Colorado State gets seven points. Man, I think it's going to be high scoring.
