How to fix Samsung Galaxy S9 automatically opens text messaging app. If this issue occurred right after a software update then this is most likely caused by a software glitch, before performing any troubleshooting steps on this phone it's best to check if a new software update is available. If one is available then I suggest that you download and install it first. Clear the cache and date two of the text messaging app, because the problem involves the text messaging app the first thing you will need to do is to clear its cache and data. This will remove the temporary data stored in the app which might be corrupted and is causing this issue. From the home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the apps drain. Tap settings, apps, tap the desired application in the default list. To display pre-installed apps, tap menu, show system apps. Tap storage, clear cache, clear data, delete. Check if the issue still occurs. Do a soft reset. A soft reset will usually fix issues caused by minor software glitches as it will refresh the phone software. Press and hold the power and volume down key for up to 45 seconds. Wait as the device restarts. Check if the issue still occurs. Update your phone apps. Since your phone is now running on a new software version, the apps in your phone might not be optimized yet to run on this latest software. From the home screen, swipe up on an empty spot to open the apps drain. Tap play store greater than menu greater than my apps. To auto update apps, tap menu greater than settings greater than auto update apps. Choose update to to update all applications with updates available. Check if the issue still occurs. Check if the issue occurs in safe mode. An app you downloaded in your phone could be causing this problem. Turn the phone off.
