The products mentioned in this video are in no exact order, so be sure to stay tuned till the end so you don't miss anything. Number five on our list is Dell XPS 13, our choice for the best laptop for college students under $1,000. The very first thing you'll notice about this laptop is its sleek and elegant design. There are no flashy details, it's just slim and functional. However, Dell didn't sacrifice work comfort for design, so the keyboard's design is ergonomic and the touchpad is responsive and simple to use. XPS 13 comes with a 13.3-inch full HD infinity edge touch display that is wonderfully responsive and superbly pleasant to look at for prolonged time periods. When it comes to the hardware, Dell really didn't cut corners on this one, as all parts are high quality. This laptop comes with Intel 7th Gen Cabby Lake i5-7200 U-dual Core processor. That is one of the most common and most reliable processors among higher mid-tier laptops. It also sports an 8GB LPDDR3 SD RAM and 128GB M.2 SATA SSD. Altogether, these components promise more than enough power for every college task, and then some. It has a built-in webcam, an SD family port, a USD 3.0 port, as well as a USB-C one. Thunderbolt is enabled via USB-C. Also, when connectivity is in question, this machine has a Wi-Fi 802.11ac and a 4.1 Bluetooth. The operating system is a 64-bit Windows 10 home, which is wonderfully easy to use and customize. The entire thing weighs 2.7 pounds, so it won't be deadweight on your shoulders. When it comes to the price, this laptop is in the high-end range, but its quality justifies it. It is still under $1,000, and when you take its performance into consideration, it's definitely worth it. Overall, this laptop is really amazing. Thanks to a great screen, it's perfect for studying, the build quality is impeccable, it has a good battery life, and the storage solution is wonderfully fast. Number 4 on our list is Asus VivoBook S. When a laptop is only 0.7 inches thin, you have to pay attention to its design. Light color combined with a durable metal cover makes it look elegant. Furthermore, the keyboard isn't just good looking with backlight, but also comfortable to work on. This Asus VivoBook is really light, with only 3.2 pounds of weight, which means it will be barely an inconvenience, no matter how long you have to carry it around. Screenwise, this laptop really offers an astounding viewing experience with its 14-inch, full-HD, wide-view display, and the Asus Nano Edge bezel, thanks to which the screen-to-body ratio is 77%. Hardware-wise, this tiny laptop packs some massively powerful components. An eighth-generation Intel Core i7-8550U quad-core processor, a dedicated Nvidia GeForce MX-152 GB graphics card, and 8 GB of DDR4-SD RAM. That's what's hiding under its sophisticated surface. The list of connectivity options will not leave you wanting more. This laptop comes with USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HDMI, and microphone-headphone combination ports. The operating system is 64-bit Windows 10, which means you won't have to worry about software compatibility. And here's the most relevant point, the price. This Asus model's price is in the middle range, which seems too good to be true when you take its features into account. Overall, the price is more than reasonable, build quality is great, it's thin, the speakers are very pleasing, and its performance is through the roof. Number three on our list is Acer Aspire E15, our choice for the best laptop for college students under $500. As durable as they come, this Acer model definitely won't win any beauty contests, but it will survive a lot. Thanks to its sturdy exterior, you won't have to worry about a lot of bumps and scratches. You won't have to worry about the battery either, as this Aspire model boasts 13 and a half hours of battery life. The LED-lit 15.6-inch display is full HD and perfectly crisp. This makes it perfect for people who prefer larger machines for their everyday needs. However, this laptop isn't exactly what we'd call light. If you want the extra screen space and the additional durability, you'll have to carry its 5.27 pounds around. E15's hardware list includes 8th generation Intel Core i3-8130U processor, 1TB SATA HDD, 6GB DDR3-SD RAM, and integrated Intel UHD graphics. When it comes to connectivity, this Acer Aspire model offers fast 802.11ac wireless, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, an SD card reader, Bluetooth 4.1, and an HDMI port with HDCP support. And yes, of course, it comes with the Windows 10 home operating system. Price-wise, this is the perfect mid-range laptop. However, you don't have to worry, its performance is well above other mid-range models. Actually, in our opinion, this is the best laptop for college students under 500 dollars. Overall, it has an outstanding battery life, full HD large screen, multiple connectivity options, and a decent performance. If you're a student and you want to make your life a lot easier, I'd recommend you check out Linda and/or Udemy.com. Those are great resources offering courses in everything you could think of from music, video editing, photography, marketing, and anything in between. Number two on our list is Apple MacBook Air, our choice for the best value Apple laptop for students. If you're looking for the best value Apple laptop, this beautifully designed model will be your cup of tea. Firstly, phenomenal, thin and light, air is the greenest Mac ever. Its recognizable wedge is made of 100% recycled aluminum, which delivers amazing strength and durability. Secondly, it weighs only 2.75 pounds, so you'll barely notice it. And lastly, thanks to an ergonomic keyboard, you definitely won't have to worry about sore wrists. What pleasantly surprised us here was the Force Touch trackpad that allows you to have precise control with numerous multi-touch gestures and the 12-hour battery life. The screen is 13.3" LED retina with IPS technology and 2560x1600 resolution. As always, the retina display delivers outstanding color reproduction and razor-sharp text clarity. When it comes to hardware, Apple MacBook Air has a dual-core eighth-generation Intel Core i5 processor accompanied by Intel UHD 617 graphics. It also has 128GB of storage and 8GB RAM memory. Connectivity-wise, it has two Thunderbolt 3 ports, a USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 port, 802.11ac wireless, 4.2 Bluetooth, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The operating system is, of course, Mac OS Mojave, which was designed to provide optimal performance. Overall, this laptop has some strong positive sides. We really like Touch ID, the comfortable keyboard, amazing speakers, the HD camera, and it comes with a number of great apps that are useful to students. Number 1 on our list is Microsoft Surface Book 2, our choice for the best overall laptop for students. When the first Surface Book came out, we loved it, and the Surface Book 2 sent us over the moon. Everything about it screams premium quality from the incredibly versatile design to its overwhelming power. The magnesium body is firm and durable, the tablet is easy to take off, and the entire thing weighs only 3.62 pounds. Using the keyboard was an absolute delight. The keys give great feedback, the back light is perfect, and the Surface coding is great to the touch. The keyboard, the touchpad, and the touch screen all justify the popularity of this device with excellent performance. It has a 13.5" Vibrant PixelSense display that can be detached and used as a tablet or as a drawing board. However, we're not here for its amazing design. We're here for what it hides under the hood. It has a powerful combination of an Intel quad-core i7-8650U processor, 16GB of RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPU graphics card with 2GB of graphics memory, and 512GB of SSD storage. When it comes to its connectivity, this laptop has it all. Two USB 3.1 ports, one USB-C port, two Surface Connect ports, SDX-C card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. This amazingly fast laptop runs on Windows 10 Pro OS. Now, we know that the price can be a breaking point, even when the best overall laptop for students is in question. If you think that this Microsoft model will cost you an arm and a leg, you almost got it right. This is the most expensive laptop on our list, but it also offers amazing features and unparalleled performance. Overall, this laptop is really amazing.
