They're starting and putting together things and you kind of see, I know you mentioned the heavy part, but I also mentioned before we started the show that there's times that AW kind of doesn't give us that much, right? It's always just like a lot of the in-ring action, a lot of the in-ring stuff, which I don't complain about. But today, uh, seemed a little different and I'm here for it. But before we fully get into it, I do just want to take a moment to acknowledge that today is 9/11 and, uh, wrestling is a wonderful escape at a place where we get to have fun a lot and makes us feel a lot of things as it did this weekend, especially, um, but there are such bigger and more important things than wrestling and I can't believe I think this is, it's been 23 years, I think, uh, which is just, just wild, um, but it, uh, it's something that certainly sticks to me as someone that lives in New York, had lived in New York for a really long time, uh, our continued remembrance to anybody who passed away in those horrific tragedies and our continued appreciation for service men and women in every position, um, who serve honorably and protect our lives on a regular basis. Uh, so we did just want to take a moment to acknowledge that real quick. We have a service man right on the stream, right below us. So, um, we very much, very much, uh, thank you so much for that and we don't forget that. We don't forget that around here, but if you're looking for a place to escape all that, we've got a post show for you. We're going to talk about John Moxley here, my goodness, what an opening promo. Let me kind of run through the highlights, but part of the reason I wanted to host was because I wanted to tee this specific opening up for Alex Flowski to go off on. I feel like when I'm hosting, I talk a little bit less than when I do co-hosting and I was like, we got to let Alex just go through this because as a trained actor, very, very valuable opinion always, but especially on this, but he says that he needs to speak on what needs to be done and nothing more. He says to Brian Danielson that he doesn't have the stomach for this anymore and that two years ago, they made a pact to build something tangible for the future way after they're gone for years after they're gone, but now he looks backstage and all he sees is egos around him and everything is out of control. He says that his lordship called Brian the perfect wrestler, but said that his lordship saw more of himself in Mox, which I thought was an incredibly powerful line. He said this is not good or evil, but he is the king of the land and today he chooses war, brilliantly written, brilliantly delivered, brilliantly shot. This felt like such incredible production kicking off the show. I prefer when entering kicks off shows, but if you're going to kick it off like this, holy hell, this was just incredible. Everything felt very fresh and modern today. We do have someone that works in video who can speak to some of that too, but I was floored in a really great way and I'm just going to go ahead and throw it over to Pulaski to kind of start where we dissect this man. This was wild. This is, I mean, I'm given too hyperbole, so when something is very good or I like something a lot, I will often proclaim it to be the greatest thing of all time. Even though it's not really, but it's more fun to think about things in giants, absolutes. That's why everything sucks, but even though it sucks. But there is no hyperbole I could use that would be effusive enough praise for this opening. The interlacing of Moxley in the parking lot speaking to the camera with what is actually a minute and a half prior to that, the camera following them as they're walking out their separate entrance to the arena through the back. There's one point where it dovetails as he starts to talk about Brian Danielson, where the camera is following them as they're walking past and then the camera kind of pans over and you can see all the medical staff and we learn you to carrying Danielson with the breathing apparatus on his face past them as they kind of like notice them but don't really make eye contact and move on. Now normally, you would, if you were doing this, once you get behind the curtain, you just put down Brian Danielson and he walks back, he gives a hug for a great match with Perry and he talks to people and gives some notes on what happened or whatever, but they knew they were going to shoot this in this way so they continued the kayfabe of one moving this way with the camera behind them and then one moving this way past them. That shot is just, that is, for lack of a better term, cinema, but just beyond all the amazing production work, you can't, there's no trick camera, trick photography that can help, no trick of editing that could make Moxley's promo any better, any more impactful. Just the way that, man, Moxley hadn't been gone for that long, I think his last match was Forbidden Door and then he came back at like the very beginning of September, that's not that long, that's like, that's like two months. But my God, have I missed this dude, this guy at the height of his powers, nobody else is as real, as raw, as put together, as much of a, like a coiled Cobra ready to strike, you never can tell what he's going to do, all this stuff, but this promo, the way he delivered it, talking about how I'm not, I'm not proud of what I did, I took no pleasure in it, but it had to be done. You don't have the stomach for this anymore, Brian, that two years ago, we agreed to do something together and somewhere along the line, you lost sight of that. And I think somewhere in there, he might be able to admit to himself, I did too, but I found my way back and I don't think you were ever going to do that. But his whole deal of, we wanted to build something greater than this place, something that would add to our legacies long after we were gone. We didn't do it for fame or money or recognition. We did it because it was a thing that needed to happen. And while I've been gone, looking around, I come back and it's just egos running amok and I can't take it anymore. And then he, then he starts getting into some Shakespeare shit here, where he says, it is only blood that moves the, the wheels of history, which is just like that's, that's all to all-timer stuff. And he says, our mentor, oh, these, oh, he also, but because the reason we doesn't think he, he has the, the stomach for it is because he says, Mr. Perfect, Mr. Absolute Patience, Mr. Mr. Empathy, the greatest man I have ever known, he says it in a derisive way, but there's part, but he says it in a way that you know part of Moxley wishes he could be that man and knows he never will be. So he has to be something else, something that is as important as that, but in a different way. But he says that, he says, our mentor called him the perfect wrestler. He says, Brian was always his lordship's favorite, which again, just Shakespeare shit. Yeah. He was always his lord, but he always, but he always saw himself in me and he knows that we're not made to be perfect, that we are men who get things done, we're always going to be like this, um, leaving this that, that, that diplomacy has failed. Yes. You loved that line. Oh, here. What is, what is Danielson's role behind the scenes? Like it's not really brought up a lot, but it has been recently, Jack Perry mentioned that Danielson could have got him off suspension if he wanted to, but instead he lost a month of his career doing whatever in Japan because A.W. wouldn't let him back, but Danielson is the head of that committee that maybe could do something. So they used it there and they're using it here because Mox is talking about how you behind the scenes are trying to make everybody happy, trying to compromise, trying to make sure everybody's in a good place and screw that diplomacy has failed. I choose war. And then he climbs into the back of a jeep, he's like, I'm open this hash back and just kind of sit into your weird, um, this is, this is such great stuff. Uh, I, I said, again, I know I'm given to hyperbole, but I think I'm right when I say this, this is a, this is a promo that you study years from now, you look back at this thing, especially if, if they can actually turn this into a major, major storyline that might last a year or whatever, you look back at the way this was delivered, the production of this particular video package, all of that. And you study it and try and make it better. Like this kind of, this kind of impeccably written, perfectly delivered promo should be etched upon tablets. That's how great this was. Our Shakespearean resident and staff here says actually Mox was quoting Mussolini. So that was familiar somewhere, but, uh, this was incredibly well done and I am so intrigued to see where it goes, but I picked a really good night to have, sorry, my, my sticky keyboard is causing all sorts of problems. We're going to get to this chat and a little bit, but, um, I picked a really good night to have both a trained actor and somebody who's worked in video for years and years on this particular episode, like this worked out very well that the three of us are hosting because I was so taken aback, not only by this promo, not just everything Mox said, but we were talking about it with Pulaski to hear the production on this was insane. Like the way that they planned ahead for this, the way it was calculated, why your thoughts on all of it, but Alex, before we even got on air, you had said, man, they really did some fresh stuff on production tonight. This was one of them. There's a few others that we'll mention as we go throughout the show, but what did you think of how we opened the show? I also thought it was fantastic. I thought that they actually put time and effort into what they wanted to do. They understand. I think that the people are asking for more. I think they also understand that they have a fresh new deal coming at them. I think they also understand that they have, um, perhaps something else coming down the pipeline. So they're going to have to put out better production more effort into what they're trying to tell and the stories of the trying to convey to us at home. And today was a perfect example. Alex mentioned it. I thought that when I saw that specific shot that he's talking about where Brian's passing, I was like, wait a second. I rewound it. And I was like, did they really just like, that felt like a scene in the movie that felt like that one, you know, the one take where you just kind of just go through everything that's happening on camera and things are happening all around you. They do it a lot of music videos, right, where the guys just walking around and everything around them is happening. Just perfect. The way that they brought him into the ring, everything that was happening backstage, um, the way that they shot him in the car when they, when they left, the way that they shot him in the ring when he was starting to Darby and we'll get to that later, was just absolutely perfect. I don't know who was in charge of these segments who said, let's sit down and really go through this one by one, seen by scene. But if they do more of this, they're going to start attracting the eyes of the people who are like, I don't want to watch that because I'm not getting the same storytelling. It was it. That was your storytelling felt very modern, very fresh. I really liked the references to Regal to because as Pulaski and I were talking about on our select post show on Sunday, like Mox and Danielson hated each other, but for Regal was literally slapping them into shape. So I loved the way that he so delicately wove that in. It was not a spoon fed line, but it was the perfect, perfect acknowledgement jam beard making fun of my keyboard over here. I had to not even the top 10 of the worst things that I've said to get to that segue, but I do want to add one more thing, like you just mentioned, like everything just kind of like, you know, the way the way everything kind of just came together, the AW does this way better than anyone else on television on television. And that is the fact that they're not afraid to talk about where people come from, who have they've who have they met, who've they've been face to face with, because in sports, if you played for the Dallas Cowboys and you go on to go play for the Giants or somewhere else, they acknowledge that wrestling for some weird frickin reason does, but a w does something really great when they acknowledge things like that. So that was pretty cool today when he was talking about the lordship immediately just knew who it was. Yeah, I love that he didn't even say William Regal, like we knew exactly, yeah, we knew exactly. Yeah, that is that is not that that's a that's a canon AEW story. Yes, exactly. It happened two years ago, but like it's not like it happens somewhere else. You don't need like we know who this is agreed, agreed. Now I am trying to intentionally pull up this chat. JW Prinkle saying double Alex in the bangs watch any good wrestling tonight. I know there were reports that AEW was going to put the title on Darby or was thinking about it. I know they had considered it at one point, or at least tossed around the idea, but it seems like Brian Danielson. And this is just me saying this is the type of person that would be like, yeah, I want John Moxley to do it because he was the guy that, you know, didn't take time, didn't take time off when AEW needed him and help lead that that charge with me when I, when he was giving the speech to 10 passion, drive and patience. I took my friend who is one of my former catch wrestling teammates and now coaches and his wife to this show along with my wife and when I took them they are a very peculiar type of average fan. Obviously if you're a catch wrestler you like some sort of pro wrestling. They have went back on Peacock and like rewatched years worth of WWE stuff and like caught up so to speak. So they were familiar with some of the talent and stuff last year when I brought them to collision but that was the most depressing taping that you could imagine going to. Talking about mailing it in, ahead of all in, CM Punk's last American collision where he came out in the Lucha mask and all that stuff. The taping went over 5 and a half hours long. Keep in mind, now I wasn't there for the whole thing but think about this. They had Britt Baker flying in from Birmingham if you remember. She was at a community event and they were just killing time, sending wrestlers to the ring to kill time for her to film this thing because they had to get a match in the can before Soraya went over to the UK to do media. So they had to film that match so it was just, oh, it was so depressing this taping last year that I brought them to. Then I saw tonight's card start to put together and I'm like, okay. So if you're an average AEW viewer or a regular wrestling fan, you might look at this show and go, why is this happening? Why is this happening? I knew that this is the type of show that I could bring to people who are just sort of casual fans to and they'd be like, damn, that Leo Rush, Jack Perry thing was cool. Sammy Guevara jumping off the set was cool. Then Will Osprey wrestling? Okay. That's it. Yeah, sold there. Yep. When the tag casino got like, got announced, I was like, oh my God, this has become one of my favorite match types. I'm so glad that I get to see one of them and then Will Osprey's wrestling in it. Hell yeah. Okay. They're going to be wrestling in another show that I'm going to in like three weeks. Okay. Sure. But I think the highlight of this entire night for me was the reaction that the outrunners got. Holy shit. That place. I don't know how well it translated. It wasn't attendance. It was great tonight. But man. It did. And I'll tell you why that's probably important to them. They do a lot of OVW stuff or they at least did. I don't know if they still do, but I mean, they worked in Kentucky like quite a bit. So them to be there and get that type of reaction has got to feel pretty good. I mean, truth magnums, like 38 years old, like who knows if, you know, he thought that he would ever sort of get this spot or get this opportunity or anything like that. It's perfect. Yeah. To get a giant push. Yeah. What is it? Sorry. It's like a prime. You're 38. Everybody gets the giant push at 38. That's not before. That's very fair. It's true. It's very fair. But, um, I mean, like as of March, they were working OVW and they've they've been working in and out of Kentucky for like a long time. And it just makes me really, really happy to see because they went and they did something that was really needed in AEW. And I feel like you get the grizzled young vets who are not a gimmick, but you've got MXM, which you look at them and you're like, how, how did WWE pass on them? Like they are the most WWE performers. Uh, speaking of, I sent man Swah a text message today and I said, Hey, are you all in the show tonight? And he goes, yes, sir. And I said, well, that sucks. I hope it's still a good show. And then they called me a cunt. But I have lovely interaction. I like this. AEW very clearly needed to restock their tag team division and they're like, well, we got MXM. We got the outrunners. There's grizzled young vets. I think that's a pretty good restock there. Like that's helpful. Certainly you'd like for Mark Davis to be back so you could actually do all the open, but all due respect to Mark Davis, Kyle Fletcher, his stock ain't going down anytime soon. And I'm not saying that Mark Davis would bring that stock down. I think there's an interesting story to be had there as well. But yeah, I really enjoyed this show. I left before Rampage obviously feeling a little under the weather still, but that was a very fun show to be at. And the vibes and the energy in the audience tonight was much better than it was last year for Collision. And yeah, like last year for Collision, I like Bullet Club Gold. They had them out there for 45, 50 minutes straight going from segment to segment to segment to other Bullet Club Gold matches. And at that point, you're just like, see something new tonight was a lot of fun, like a good friend, Alexis Littlefoot. I got to see her get that ass whipped by Nyla Rose. I'm just saying, listen, people wrestle me and then they pop up on TV. So what happens? Did you give them the rub? That's right. That's right. You take a drop toehold. But that made me happy. Crew who is a Cincinnati local, he got his ass whipped pretty bad by BCC, but glad to see him in there. Most people do. I thought that Moxley promo was great. Didn't make sense in a vacuum, like about an hour later, it didn't make any sense. But in the moment, I was like, oh, this is incredible. This is fantastic. And Marina Shafir has got a presence about her right now that is very, very good. But yeah, that's some of the live notes, the Nigel thing got over big with the crowd there. It was really, that was obviously for me like an extremely special one and I'm so excited to get to see it live, but it makes no sense. And I couldn't care less. I'm just like bringing her to ear, but we aren't going to talk about it objectively, how that makes absolutely no sense at how they probably could have waited one week and it would have been fine. Yeah, I would like for them to explain that there are two things I think they need to explain. They need to explain one that Swerve Strickland specifically begged the state to not press charges. Yeah. So you can fight a man, but also whatever makes sense of this situation because listen, I have criticized WDB very, very heavily for like title shots that aren't deserved. And I think it's probably more about Sammy and Kevin that say this, but they close some of those, those logic holes sometimes like Cody, Cody Rhodes saying, well, it wasn't fair when you did get a title shot and got screwed out of them all those times. So this is me making up for that because I know what kind of person you are. And then Sammy Zane having the last win over Gunther, listen, I at least there is an excuse. You know what I mean? I need them to make this reason happen as excited as I am about to match like can't wait, can't wait. Yeah. That's going to be an all-timer. I'm so excited about it, but it, it's that it, not only that it didn't make sense, but it didn't make sense within like a half hour of each other. Let's, let's keep talking about this mock segment because more people want to, including Tim McFowl, who also loved this like we did, saying the opening mocks segment was simply perfection at the quiet, almost calm way, he couldn't, then the follow up from POC explaining why he's with these guys absolute gold, the next great AEW story. Yeah, not giving a shit mocks is terrifying, like, being very comfortable with murdering people is, wait, wait, is this what AEW's become? I mean, then they're just becoming like, in order to become the murder, like, wrestling company, James Zimmerman saying, Moxley is on fire, where was Yuda that? I think it's going to be something that ends up breaking our heart in the next week or two. Because who? Apparently he was at Danielson's side in the hospital. So I think it's two weeks is when the Darby match for Moxley is, next week feels like maybe Yuda shows up and it's like, I need you to tell me what the hell you're doing. You know what I mean? That's going to be a lot. That's going to be a lot. Well Sean alluded to it and then the next thing that happens is we see Darby arriving at the arena. So let's head into this now, throughout the night, they're kind of alluding to the fact that Mox is on the hunt for Darby specifically until later in the episode Darby comes down to the ring. Not happy go lucky skateboarding Darby, but he comes out skateboard in hand and he just flat out says that he isn't hiding someone's been looking for him. He's right there and we get this promo from Darby that is, in my opinion, one of his better ones for sure. He kind of just stops Mox and his tracks and says that he was a homeless like when you're talking about people with egos backstage don't bring me into that conversation was essentially the net I got from this saying that he was a homeless dishwasher and he doesn't take any of this for granted and that's why he wrestles the way he does. Which I kind of liked like he's saying that people are going to sit there and say what happens when you're 40 and you can't do this anymore and he's saying I'm not taking any of that for granted today. But he said that it is first year wrestling. He was looking for a hero but that everybody was a fake and showed him that they could be bought for a dollar their dignity could be bought but not Mox he wanted to be just like him because Mox even to this day wrestles on the indies and high school gyms and stuff like that's and that's where he met him that they wrestled at an indie show and he lost the match but he gained confidence because he could prove that he could hang with guys like Mox and he says when you find people like that you hold on to them like family and Darby would never do what Mox did to his family in Danielson so what does he want out of all this and Mox very to the point with all of this stuff says he wants Darby to hand over his title shot because not with the shape that Danielson's in can he defend his title and Darby asks Mox I did not like this he says have you been drinking again don't like the implication of a relapse from a baby face especially at all yeah that was like the only misstep in this for me but he follows it up really nicely and says you sound like everyone you hate you sound like everyone in the back who was self entitled like you're gonna have to earn this and Mox says fight him at Grand Slam for that title shot he will earn it and he says you have no idea what's going on and just to trust him so I I mean noted noted Stan of Darby Allen Alex Pulaski is on the stream but I liked this from Darby I like him when he sounds more natural I like this more than I like the avant garde vignettes that we get from him and stuff sometimes sometimes there's so much of that that they don't stand out or feel special in my opinion I thought this was one of Darby's better promos and I like that there's going to be likely a transference of Darby losing to Mox and Mox earning the title that way I liked this part of it until what we see happen contradicted in a little bit but we'll start with you Pulaski what did you think of what we got kind of with this through line I appreciated Moxley being like listen kid I like you I like you a lot you're never going to be champion I like you so much I'm willing to be honest with you you're not ready you're probably never going to be ready you're definitely more ready a few years ago you're not ready now okay so I'm going to need you to hand over that title what do you mean I'm not going to do that blah blah blah the horrible line about alcoholism and then it's like fine then we're then I don't know if you realize this but the champion is in disposed right now so you're not getting that title match now I don't know if it could be said later and I hope they help this whole thing out by having Moxley say this you were ready to accept everything you're ready to accept this truth that I gave you I told you that he wasn't going to be available for your match you just said okay you apparently Danielson's well enough to have a you know a grudge match with Nigel McGinnis so I guess he would have been well enough to have a match with you and you might have beat him maybe in his terrible state but you were just so itching to prove yourself to me again that you had to do this I hope they closed that little loophole but I did love him saying that like I'm the only one who's willing to tell you this yeah I do like you that you're never going to be champion that that that older brother type of energy from Mox to Darby I've always said that that that Darby is a guy who doesn't care if he dies in the ring and eventually he's going to wind up in the ring with a guy who doesn't care if he kills him and that's John Moxley and that's the thing like they've they've had matches in the back past and Moxley's beaten the tar out of him but like this time like I think to really put over John Moxley and with this new version of him he needs to be old to put a little extra stank on it when he takes out Darby to like really give us this thing that a Darby never should have had the title match at Grand Slam to begin with like not just like I hate Darby thing but like the way that they had him like threatened to murder a man through fire to get a shot at the TNT title and then a few minutes later they taped a battle royal where he won to get a shot at an entirely different title that would happen a month after his title shot at the first title that never made sense to begin with I actually feel like this is a really great way of cleaning all of that up because I fully accept that the end will come for me one day and Darby Allen will become the world champion but that time doesn't have to be now you can easily build him to be this underdog that everybody but me loves and eventually he will become champion if Moxley is the guy to beat Danielson then Darby Allen is probably the guy to take the title off of Moxley after the segment we saw we will cross that bridge when we come to it I won't actually I'll stop midway through and jump off that bridge but everybody else will cross the bridge when we come to it right now I think this is a great way of getting Moxley this this new version of Moxley this kind of big push him getting the if if indeed Danielson is like I only got like three more matches in me let me get this one with Dan with with McGinnis and I know it doesn't make any sense for me to have a title match with him so let's figure out a way to have me have a match with McGinnis and then if I'm gonna go out it should be Moxley because that's the part that's the best long term story we could have it'll put all kinds of heat on Moxley's new act which we're going to like I feel like this group it's not just gonna be him and Pac and Claudio and Marina Shafir they're gonna add more people to it whoever then gets around that orbit they're gonna get more heat this is a better thing overall for the long term of of of a W and also when I have to understand this and I have to be okay with it when not if when Darby Allen beats John Moxley for it then it will actually mean something there is something really interesting and yes Darby has a really special connection with like 95% of the AEW audience and he has he really has held up his end of the bargain as someone in AEW like he's done everything he can with everything he's given I feel like you never hear his name brought up in backstage issues like I think that's actually kind of a cool transition to have the guy who appears unkillable who is like 110 pound so good wet taking a title from a guy who is on a murderous rampage of sorts and what that could do to Mox could be extremely interesting but Cardoza how did you feel about this exchange I forgot the closing line here too because we've got some like some arson perbs around here because Darby says if you want to burn AEW to the ground don't be surprised if I throw you in the fire to close this out yeah I kind of dug this and I liked there seemed something different with Darby's entrance today too like the way it was filmed just everything felt very fresh today I dug what we got here what do you think yeah so listen Darby felt real and not that Darby's ever fake but Darby just felt like today he had something to say that wasn't the usual you know I'm gonna beat your ass or you know I'm the smaller guy or no no he feels inside that he could be champion he knows that he can fight and he will go to the umph degree to make himself a world champion but right now there's someone in his face was trying to take that opportunity away from him and what I liked about it is that Mox was as real as a real mother could be all right because he told him straight to his face just like you wouldn't in a in a street fight if you're in front of your boy and you're about to beat his ass you love him but I'm telling you right now I'm gonna beat you and like it didn't feel forced it didn't feel scripted it didn't feel like it was something like gee golly we're gonna fight for this title and I'm taking that bracelet from you no it was more or less like no there's gonna be a ton of blood and violence that's gonna happen next week in New York next week the 25th in New York and I'll tell you this right now this is just my opinion Tacoma Washington October 12 okay that could very well be the match okay and if we're all following along and you're right if Mox is is on his way there again what this would be was fourth third or fourth he he'd basically just be the one to kind of like have yeah fourth so he would be the first AEW champion to win it four times as well so there's a lot happening here I'm intrigued a lot there is a lot and it's it's kind of special that the AEW lineages for titles have been around this long that we're getting to that point which is yes which is really cool jambered uh saying about the arson and murder fetishes going around here lexus to answer your murder question AEW as a spiritual successor not only to WCW but also ECW yes some of this stuff is ECW levels of violent I feel like tna impact for a while had the the the murder cornered the murder market cornered what the heck on the side for a while and yeah well and anytime many but he was leaving they just kind of like killed him off many nice saying mox is giving is CM Punk's real backstage self I don't think CM Punk would even say about him that he's the one keeping people's egos in check I don't even think he thinks his own ego isn't check like based on what he has said about himself um you're thinking about about uh what what mox has said at the beginning is like I mean when you hear about some of the stuff that's going on backstage yes maybe he's true but also some of the kayfabe stuff yes like just these people who are just basically like just being like I'm the best I'm the there's some people like I'm the best wrestler in the world you got max caster making custom jacket saying he's the best wrestler alive people's egos have run amok the characters egos are out of control and you need another character to put them back in check that feels like it actually makes sense and I could absolutely see how a guy like mox the character would feel that about other characters not just about the actual wrestlers backstage stuff but the characters being like I'm the best I'm the best you suck I'm the best well you know what you're not I am damn I am the one I know what god put me on this earth to be I am the one true king of these lands well that also feels like you might have an ego but the thing about mox is he's gonna back that up every single step of the way and Alex I I told this to Kate before in in privates you know just talking back and forth mox just feels he is a EW I'm sorry I know he's he was like for 10 years in WWE but God has that in my mind been erased with everything that he's done and held this company on his back man it's just it's incredible I'm like crazy man the history between him and Danielson also goes back so far certainly a promo he cut in Dragon Gate in 2010 about about 14 years ago on Danielson they they had a match on on my birthday in Milwaukee a city I lived in in 2010 and I had no idea the match was happening I might have bought tickets to it but um but yeah that could be fun like figuring out i i don't i don't know how long this elite thing is gonna last and i don't know how long the patriarchy is gonna last but there's a possibility there with like nick wane jack perry and luchisaurus as a trio you know what i mean backing up sure in the trios division i think nick wane and and kill switch could could be a really good tag team i don't think you're in the titles but like you need you need a really good baby face tag team to be the champions and then nick wane and kill switch trying to come after them i think they'd have really good matches with whoever the the baby that was topfly at a private party or whatever who were champs they could they could easily have matches i i don't necessarily need the patriarchy to break up i told them to have a direction and the problem i have with it right now is that they appear to have a direction for christian that doesn't feel like it could possibly come to fruition like i don't think he's cashing in on danielson i think moxley's beating danielson and i know christian's not catching it on moxley so like do we how long how long does he get to keep that i know like the the the the thing that allows him a shot whenever he wants it because the money in the bank is a full year i don't know how long he gets to keep this thing but if Darby is the one to beat moxley then christian could cash in on moxley i just don't know how far along that is and i don't need every two weeks christian coming out and cutting a problem about how your days are numbered because that just feels like we're going to do it over over and over again i could see him cashing on mox or danielson and luchasaurus may be turning on him there um like the match gets underway and that it's it's a non-match but it's an official match or something right so we will see we will see as we move along here we get this very quick uh and we'll you know what we'll actually save that for the the tag gauntlet but we'll move on to our first match of the night jack perry and leo rush and boy oh boy am i glad leo rush is on weekly television this guy is too freaking good definitely gonna call him ruchet some point because it's spelled the same in my notes but we do have him with a really really nice counter uh of jack perry with a reverse uh ronda that was just nasty nasty looking um and we get double knees here we get uh come him coming in from the side with the knee and then perry with a running knee to the back of leo rush not ruchet's head uh really really really really good stuff here the notes from commentary about him using a snapdragon suplex like kenio mega makes me think maybe this elite stuff isn't so much over uh because it it seemed like they were like pretty heavily hinting at that with kenney uh what were your thoughts plowsky on this match i'm so glad to see leo rush in action i have no idea why he really got a shot here but it was great on my television tnt title always used to be the open challenge thing and yeah like leo rush is is a very accomplished wrestler all over the globe i think he could answer an open challenge and i like jack perry just showing up for work in his ridiculous painted black bus getting out walking to the ring uh having a match i thought it was a good match i love the finish of him having rush leo rush's um little he like does a weird like bounce halfway out of the ring back into a stunner having that scouted getting off to the side and like him landing on his butt before he realized what happened he got a knee to the temple and then another knee to the face like i i really love that i also i really like the the thing of i don't necessarily like i've been people like me have been crucified in this business company for two whatever crucible whatever but i like him just showing up for work in his this may paint a black bus going in having a match and then walking out and not breaking stride as he answers a marvez question getting back in his little bus and driving away i like that i think that's a that's a cool little thing for him i don't really know how it fits with the elite anymore but i like what they're doing with him now i don't know how long they'll last they should probably switch it up eventually but right now it's working to me sure absolutely um louise our friend who had sent in a donation had also sent in a chat if you could fish that out of the chats for us that would be fantastic but cardos what did you think of this match i'm excited to see some of these titles finally getting defended like it had been so long and now the elite are starting to defend their titles what did you think of this and were you as excited to see leo rush on television as i was yeah leo's very smart your leo's a smart wrestler you can tell by the way he moves over on the ring the psychology that he uses and what he's doing like hot account or moves like it's he's just that good i'm glad whatever happened in that initial period a couple years ago with leo rush and a w has been thrown to the wayside and whatever and because we needed him somewhere we needed him on television he's his uh you know athleticism and what he did today with jack perry jacks kind of turned into this like ground and pound wrestler now that he's evil you know um i love his new style i thought the match was really good i didn't see any holes or anything missing i love the the whole thing with escape gold van going everywhere now like alex mentioned they on the commentary table to say he was on his way to california was that thing gonna make it with all that smoke coming out of the tailpipe i i like i don't know what it is about tonight they did something different maybe they just knew i was gonna be here on the post show with you guys and i was excited to watch i'm gonna i'm gonna chuck it up to that let's do that let's let's chalk it up to that i like it i like that they're creating programming just for us on this post show where he's seen a lot of guys like hangman before and no matter what road you take you always end up at the same place and just as he's about to call himself ruthless hangman beats the ever-living crap out of him and i can only assume as much as we hear about what a gem jeff jerett is backstage he must not be because none of the 47 other people that are backstage in this segment give a crap like hangman's just beat the hell out of him i guess he did burn down a house recently and try to murder a man so maybe nobody really wants anything to do with it but they do not want that smoke they do not want that smoke they do not they do not uh reese power with a chat thank you so much for the support saying that hangman versus jerett is going to be violent second lieutenant colonel photo says i feel like hangman is going to retire jeff jerett i don't think we're that lucky but uh they are revisiting this i don't have a problem with it if it's a super short program because it's what other contemplating retirement in ring retirement i think this might be the way to go man you got to give you got to keep hangman hot that dude ain't retiring for another 45 years no he will be so for real the taped episodes of collision can be a thing that you can do for hangman page at at that particular thing but like after that he has shown no interest in really going after the title all he wants to do is destroy swerve this is the thing with me um um now that hangman has fully crossed over uh into the dark side where he they again we didn't get just talk about this because it came out later they didn't show it on tv but it all out after he has that moment where he falls to his knees at the top of the ramp and they just cut away he started to exit out the baby face tunnel and stopped and thought about it for a second and tried to go again and stopped and then he realized he knew who he was he knew he realized there was no going back he was kind of sad about it but he knew that he was a bad guy now and he left through the heel tunnel and that's hangman now hangman it like doesn't know what to do when his former friends say we don't even know who you are anymore he doesn't lash out and kick their ass he's like no this is me yes i am i'm a bad guy now everybody was everyone was cheering for me when i tried to murder that guy with a chair they cheered they were cheating cowboy shit well that's who i am now it's who i have to be now there's gonna be some stuff all that stuff that jared was telling him about the regret and all that stuff that is absolutely true but we're never we're not gonna see hangman get to that point until months or even a year from now this is really good stuff and also with hangman's character are crucially he won once he embraced that side of him right like he had not beats worth until he embraced that side of him so that is working for hangman and it's working for me as was this next segment i was very confused about why oh my god is that private party was with commander and not say scorpio sky who we'd seen them with before or whatever but uh it doesn't really matter because we get the bcc beating the ever-loving crap out of them um and pack with a really good promo kind of just saying like what we knew was true about his trajectory here do mostly to injury but that he had been lost in the shuffle uh and that he now has a is flippy and flip forever chance which pops me a lot during this match uh the big spot in here sammy guvara doing a moonsault off the top of the tunnel which was pretty cool an incredible spot off of the barricade from ricochet that was just nuts but sammy guvara with the go-to-hell countered with roundhouse kicks from ricochet and a falcon arrow for the one two three and post match beast mortos comes out and attacks ricochet but sammy saves him here some good good in ring here ricochet did some stuff that made me think he was out there to silence the people who were like but everybody in a aw can do the moves he can like it's not like wwe he did some stuff that people at a w ain't doing this this was a lot of fun plowsky we'll start with you uh sammy's not like the most for you guy in the world but he could match his freak as the kids say with us i thought this was a lot of fun yeah it's it's a it's a good match for ricochet to show off and they made it had did a good job of stating the facts that he's a current roh tag champ and a three-time tnt champ and i don't care about that i don't like sammy but but that that's a good thing for him to do is to beat a guy like sammy and sammy does his thing where he climbs something else pretends that he's crazy it doesn't move off of it yeah it's just you know i i just i he had he'll never get the jereco stink off of him ever for me so much of his career i associate with one of my least favorite performers of all time and i just can't i can't separate the two i don't know if i'll ever be able to but this was fun like objectively these guys are doing cool stuff ricochet getting wins is great i think we'll talk about later that there's a really cool angle they can play at with ricochet getting victories separate of what's going on with with osprey that i think could could be a really cool little angle to like pump up that eventual match they'll have with each other yeah i think there's some fun possibilities here too i think they need to get the jereco stink off of sammy that maybe it'll be easy for us to buy in this is the first time we've seen him without jereco and he's mostly on our o-h so yep we will see but kardosa what did you think of our flip forever match here i'm so excited for ricochet he seems so happy rejuvenated and full of goddamn life like you can just see it he's like he's becoming against either mone or me um i try not to go overly nitpicky on a division that is thriving and doing so well and grown at such a rapid pace in the past year but there was a part of me that was like it's kind of a bummer when there haven't been obvious challengers that we got a tag gauntlet before we got a women's one like that that did cross my mind today not like the biggest deal but um certainly something that that did cross my mind of like didn't feel like we had anybody really set up for mercedes right now like she beat she did clean twice like that doesn't feel like they're gonna run that back again um and it didn't seem like something so obvious for maria i was like it would be kind of fun if the gal's got one of those but uh any any other comments any thoughts on those fellas um i think that i think that mina can get a title match without having to win a gauntlet like it's sure obvious that that they have the connection they don't need that but but for for a new title new challenger for mercedes i think that you could easily do that i think that that would might be a lot of fun is too is for her to install camille in the gauntlet to make sure nobody wins it opportunity he comes out and gives us amazing promo or at least amazing to me i honestly don't remember a ton about what he said because i the whole time was just like oh my god is this happening is this happening is this happening i do remember him saying it's bad for a w but good for him that data sends not defending at grand slam and i thought this makes no sense if he's gonna fight you at grand slam but i don't care i will care once the initial shock wears off that i get to see this match in person but as of this moment i did not care but he alludes to their past and says that he's gonna be the one to put daniel sit on the shelf and all of this which also doesn't really make sense because he said when he loses his titles when he's gonna be put on the shelf but i think Nigel was referencing their bed and bloody history so um a lot going on here i don't know if it's for the title or not i don't think it is because he says the title's not getting defended so no no interesting kind of stuff there it's it's just because Daniel has been running from him for 20 years he's so scared of me then i'm and he don't you won't even show up i'm gonna get oasis to play me out to the ring he's not even gonna show up so this is great it's wonderful and it should be it's gonna be an awesome thing i love that i'm doing it at a major show um and i love that for you that you get to be beating him to a pulp in the process but at the end don't say there's a there's a moment where they like recognize that they that this was a silly feud for them to have and and and Nigel recognizes that like danielson's the greatest ever kind of you don't have to say it but like you can see the moment um and just as you think they might do something about it that's when christian tries to cash in and Nigel protects danielson from the cash in oh because who is also the guy who he puts over all the time christian cage but christian cage speared him in that match at Wembley christian cage did scream at that match at Wembley he says my ribs still hurt after that that would be an amazing moment to save him from the cash in and then they could have a hug and hoist each other's arms up and become friends at the end of this that is what that's what i want out of this at the end right like for them to actually have respect for each other and maybe even be friends but typical saying money is for Kate's therapy after that world title announcement god damn i wasn't crying it was the onions also my two faves with the win in the main event we're going to talk about that in a minute uh i i thought that zsj versus with Nigel in the ring was going to be like the peak for me and now i can't believe i get to see this one i'm on life like who needs a world title when all the clams are on the line right sjambir just pointing out to us here um i popped big for the clam chowder eating Nigel but i popped big against for the outrunners they got a huge ovation we're going to talk about that in a minute because that was frickin wild but i keep those super chats and hamper chats coming cartoza this moment likes to proceed so much for me as as a fan of wrestling i can't even like fully express what uh you'll see my reactions i'm sure at grandslam but what did you think of of the setup to this did you think this was common i kind of had said this will probably be in danielson's attraction match era when when he came out had that little piece of paper behind him the way he wanted the way he was strutting around that he was going to go talk to tony con i thought maybe he just was you know wanted to be a part of something maybe maybe referee something i don't know i wasn't necessarily thinking of him getting into a match was going to be what we were going with it so when he came out and he passionately announced that he was going to kill him again there's a lot of murder happening here and he was going to you know hurt him and like you can like the facial expressions from evil to um calm back to evil to um calm like there's this this wave of emotion and and the the fact that they have the history there again a lot of these matches and a lot of things happening right now have a lot of history behind them i think it's excellent for you i think it's going to be excellent for a lot of people that are fans of of these two um i certainly will be watching intensely because i want to see where this is going to go and like alex said it could end it could very well end like that it could very all end where you finally had your blow off match after all these years you you you took it to the limit and now there's some sort of respect between the two maybe well i'm so excited for is if you go back and watch the roh matches like they were really violent and they were bloody and stuff i think this is gonna they kind of has to because of unfortunately what digel has in his life but i think this is going to be so different from the rest of their matches but i can't wait to go back and watch it's going to be poetry i'm going to be completely honest with you uh fidd mick awesome i didn't know you were irish and awesome look at you said this is the episode we the appropriate reaction to have uh we get a quick promo from hook who's calling out rati strong i'll let you guys comment on that after uh i also mentioned who gets thrown into this tag team casino gauntlet match which team bruv osprey and fletcher win uh roisang asking is kyle fletcher the one to take the international title from will i feel like it might be going the other way i think kyle fletcher might be turning face and getting out of this uh this faction but um our casino gauntlet match starts with ftr osprey and fletcher team bruv are in there next we get the righteous coming in the acclaimed coming in dutch doing some really impressive stuff really impressive max caster two getting dutch up i i was very surprised by his strength and that mxm and they're awesome theme hitting with the stare down with the acclaim and and mason just pop an ass good stuff there top flight the outrunners who i'll be completely honest i was setting this up and i thought i was like oh my god did the hurt syndicate just debut when i heard the reaction as i was setting up my laptop i've the ovation was so loud i thought they had just debuted but gyv also in this they have a skirmish with ftr so what i liked about this was you had feuds getting set up and continuing and the last casino gauntlet we had for the singles was uh surprises and things like that so they've told very different stories with this match every time that they've done it um i i will let it play out how i feel about the winners but overall i do kind of have a complaint with a sw everything's on fire so this is a dip picky but so many they have so many titles and so many of them are occupied by the same people and what i mean by that is your world champion just faced your tnt champion and darby allen who was in line for a tnt title shot and a world title shot um just got stifled out of that but like you also have will osprey who's the international champion who's now going to go for a tag title shot like the it's way you have such a big roster and it's so loaded and full of so many great wrestlers and they're not spreading out the wealth enough in my opinion it is very funny that every time ospreys in this match he wins like that it is it's a w style match and it's will ospreys match brov so that that is the story um but for all the titles they have it feels like it's like the same eight guys always sniff it around them so that they could do a better job with that um but that that's that's picking it's a little bit uh palaski what did you think i i love this style match i think it's very fun no it was especially an attack team thing because it's more fun somehow the ring fills up so fast by like the fourth entry there's eight guys in there yeah and then then there's ten and then there's like it doubles up all so fast um like um i i think we all basically unless they do something crazy with this particular pairing there's no way the young bucks are losing a grand slam correct yeah so this is a match you put on the card like you know it's going to be a really fun match as opposed to anything else now would i if if let's say somehow private party wasn't in a random trio's match with commander and was in this and they won and they got a match with the young bucks and the young bucks blatantly cheated and and then private party got a rematch at wrestle dream and won the titles would that be better yeah but they weren't even in this match sure um could you run that exact same scenario with top flight yeah you could um but um like for the people who were like the outrunner should win it no they shouldn't they just they in canon they just won their first match like book them to like apparently they had them like swear off with the righteous now i love the righteous but you're not doing anything with them right now so why don't you run a few weeks of outrunners versus righteous stuff on rampage and collision get a few wins that are there belt then we'll see what happens you know what i mean like or roh you know but nobody i'm sorry kate you're one of four people in the world who watches that thing so like pieces says the outrunners and mxm were robbed i mean honestly like this is the kind of match that i feel like you could if you wanted to pull something off like that do like it they could get a fluke win in a match like this and i wouldn't hate it but i they could but i i would hate the match yes of course much much a silly a silly crap i mean i i mean it's it's fine they're a fine little team and you need teams like that but they shouldn't be the champions that's ridiculous the outrunners shouldn't be the champions of a w not now nonetheless you've given them like a 12 match win streak i just mean the shot like you could just give them the shot if you wanted yeah i guess let me normal saying the outrunners hold a place in my silly meaty heart much like dark order give the rwh tag titles or quick transitional run just for the pop uh i would rather that than say me and dustin right now while dustin's also holding trio's titles um but i also think i love them but like right now you have two rising silly goose teams yeah and i think on that track mxm were just like a little bit further ahead like i think they're overall a little bit more over and i think like the quality of the in-ring i love the outrunners but they've mostly been jobbing like even when mxm is taking losses i feel like they're able to showcase what they're doing more um so so i feel like if you're gonna go the silly goose direction you probably go mxm but i love that they're selling merch i love that they're appreciated i love that they got a big hometown pop but kurtos what did you think of the outcome and what did you think of this style match i like the i like the match i thought it was fun it's good to see uh all these tag teams throwing it up in the you know in the air and kind of like um seeing the different dynamics some good stories being told within the match itself as well um i for a perfect show in my head because i thought it was really good the one thing that ruined it for me was having uh uh team bruv win it and and i'll tell you why it's because i i just you have a title already on on australian i think you know you were just talking about this like this would have been a perfect situation to kind of have a team be elevated right and just kind of be brought up into into uh the tag team division and show off you know um i understand why he wanted these two there but in my little brain i was like god i honestly wish it was another team not even ftr none of those just a team that could that has been pretty okay and just needed to come up you know they should have done more job more to explain this and and highlight it but it's not like this is the first time that kyle and will have ever teamed together correct right you know what i mean like they they've done this many many times in trail stuff and and as tag team members so it's not like it's just like oh this team they threw together can they coexist like they're best friends yes them winning this i have no problem with it it's specifically because of this now will is going to be like i'm going to become the tag chance with my best friend kyle and he shows over here being like hey what about me you told me to pick up victories i i beat semi guevara i beat your boy kyle and i and then after after he does i beat this crazy dude in a bull mask who wanted me dead for some reason i'm picking up the wins that you told me to when you're over here in the tag division so who's running from who will which then allows them to like build up some more animosity which i feel like it can't be like ricochet bruv or be wanting to fight you again for a long time and ricochet is like yeah bring it that's not enough animosity for a really great match that i don't think we're gonna get until maybe as far as full gear so like build up that actual animosity so when we finally get it not only do they want to face each other but they also want to beat each other i think that's fair but i also think this is the thing i complained about in a w or in wwe like the tag title should be for tag teams that want the tag titles in the tag division i think this is going a long way to help build out other stuff find a different way to do it uh i'm so sick of tag titles being vehicles for other shit it gets really old for me and i feel like that's what we're doing with this because we already know that they're not going to win so yeah but that is our main event that is such a fun format for the show um i'm sure that match is going to be unbelievable so i i do look forward to that i hope it is also indicative that maybe mark davis is ready to come back
