Ok and I'm with Claudia who is from the cafe. Claudia you welcome to Scarath Bay Community Radio. Hi thank you very much. And you have been here working in the cafe for a number of months. Yeah six months now. Okay and I gather you you spend your time between working in the cafe and doing some cooking or baking. Yeah well I generally I don't do a lot of cooking but I might help with the salads and if they need if there's no one if there's they need help in the kitchen then I'll help with whatever they need help with. Okay why do you like working here because you obviously do enjoy working here. Oh I love it yeah I think well the first thing I think is I love being of service and I love serving people so and in really giving people you know a great customer experience so I guess that's my first thing is I love doing that just having people feel welcome and and serving good food and I just I love the community feel of it and also I love that we have a garden and that we use the vegetables from the garden and yeah I think that's it you know it's just that and we have such an eclectic eclectic group of people coming in yes dinner from all walks of life and over the summer we had a lot of tourists so it's just really fun and interesting and it's even though it gets busy it's still relaxed you know the atmosphere is very relaxed the customer is always really great and forgiving you know yes and you know that always helps. I've spent the last hour trying to interview you and you have been so busy looking after people but it's only now you've got a moment to sit down. I know I know it was more because we had a we had a lunch order the last four days we've been and we've had lunch order a huge lunch order every day so just getting that out by one o'clock and then we've had so many customers this last few days so that's it really you know but they come first. What's your own favorite food to be working with either to preparing or serving or cooking? Well like I said I love the um I love that we get the vegetables from the garden so I love preparing just the green salad I love doing that I love washing it and just the whole process of picking it and washing it and breaking it up and putting it in the bowl and I suppose the salad is because they're so colorful and there's this thing I think it comes from Okinawa when you eat the rainbow so I love that I love that people come and eat the room but when they come here so I guess that and just like I'll use you a little big actually the paninis and the sausage rolls and the little mushroom tarts that hide makes those are the things but the curry is that banana makes oh my god they're just out of this world so and I love it because he he's making them for his own taste he's not trying to um you know think about oh no people don't like chili or they don't like this he's just making them the way he would make them if he's eating them and also he just put so much love him and his wife put so much love into the food so yeah I guess all of it I mean I love food I'm afraid I was so caught up with interviews today that I missed the mushroom curry so I have to I have to come back for it we were well any curry actually do you know so I mean that's why I said to you would you like something because I knew it was going to go so yes yeah okay you are you're not that's how Denise care accents did you have you'll come from the other part of the part of the world I do so I um I was born in Uruguay and I grew up in Australia we emigrated there when I was five but I've been living in Ireland for 21 years and I actually live in Galway just down the road in Palscross and um yeah but I love this is this field it feels on my community and my daughter goes to school up the road so yeah I love it here and I just love the people it's so nice yeah it's it's interesting that so many people that I've chatted today you know have moved you know into East Claire and and love living here in East Claire yeah well I find myself at home here do you know like I live just outside of Pertumna but I don't really go into the town as much do you know so and I because I work here and my daughter goes to school here then I do tend to spend much my time more in East Claire than I do in Galway I know yes I have Galway people I'm sure they forgive you you love them too we of course we do especially me because I've I've lived you know up and down the east coast and so and my daughter's father's from Cork so I'm kind of from all over yes I know yeah well you're you're um it's it seems from talking to other people and from looking around a very happy place to be in in the work situation yeah I think so yeah because it's a you know did you have any background in in cooking or in in the catering trade before you came here well yeah I guess I've always well I mean I've been cooking since I was eight you know with my mum in the kitchen I also had my own cake decorating business while I was here I've worked in restaurants and yeah so I just I love food so I like to experiment with food so that's my background before this I did community community work so but it's the first time I've actually worked in an island anyway in a cafe so yes but yeah food food is part of my life I know you make it sound like this isn't worked at all here oh no it doesn't feel like it yeah no not at all it's it's wonderful yeah well listen Claudia it's great to talk to you yeah you too well worth the wait after waiting for a while while you're so busy and I continued good luck in your work here and hopefully you'll spend many a long year here and we'll we talked to you again please go out and the opportunity arises absolutely thank you so much thank you very much bye bye
