The BYU Cougars got a welcome addition to their lineup with the apparent return of star running back LJ Martin to full activity with the BYU football program in practice this week and that should allow for increased optimism for Kalani Sitake and his team as they seek to show an improved product on the girdiron this fall in the Big 12 Conference.
Jake Hatch then talked with BYU tight ends coach Kevin Gilbride as the two discussed what made him interested in returning to Brigham Young University (BYU), what he makes of his collection of tight end talent that is led by the likes of Keanu Hill, Ethan Erickson, Ryner Swason and Mata'ava Ta'ase, among others as they hope to help BYU compete better in the Big 12.
Finally, the show wrapped up on a somber note with Jake paying tribute to his late grandfather, Herman K. Hatch, who passed away Tuesday at the age of 90 and, as Jake notes, was a true-blue BYU Cougar to the core as he helped foster Jake's interest in BYU athletics and encouraged him throughout his life and during his career in sports media.
