- Per a report from Dennis Dodd, Notre Dame is seeking to triple its payout from NBC and could link up with the Big 12 Conference, and BYU by extension, to get the deal done, which Jake Hatch thinks would be a boon for the Big 12 & the BYU football program
- Attention then shifted to the ongoing position group preview series ahead of BYU football training camp as Jake took a look at the defensive ends, which have Tyler Batty on one side and whole lot of question marks on the other, which needs to be fixed
- Finally, BYU quarterback Jaren Hall was named to the Walter Camp Player of the Year preseason watch list while rising guard Clark Barrington added to two more preseason All-American teams by Lindy's and The Sporting News
