Keep What You Earn

Launching Your First Product with Kelly Kussman

Broadcast on:
26 Jul 2022

It's no secret that people are shifting more toward product-based businesses. As an accountant, I look at product-based businesses and see many complexities. But they can be very rewarding if you do it the right way and minimize the mistakes you make along the way. This is what I talk with Kelly Kussman about on this episode.

Kelly is the owner, designer, and vision behind Cayla Gray, which is a brand built around fragrances that are derived from memories. She started her career in fragrance by buying for a major department store, where she fell in love with the distinctive nature of scents and their ability to make memories tangible.

We talk through how she started her business and what it was like to do that in the middle of COVID while she was also working a corporate job. This is a must-listen if you're thinking about starting a product-based business or you've toyed with the idea of adding a product to your suite of offers. You're going to hear about all the lessons learned from Kelly, mistakes made, things she's grateful for, and ways you can navigate the complex world of product business in 2022.
