Today, we are going to talk about another really important topic. Making a healthy balance between online and offline activities. It's like making sure you enjoy both your favourite screen time and all the other fun things that you can do. Let's dive in. Have you ever felt like you are spending too much time on the phone, tablet or computer? Because too much screen time can make us feel tired or even a little grumpy. Now, I have just spoken more about the social media in my previous episode. You can just go back to my episode and hear that. But don't worry, we are going to discover some cool ways to balance your screen time with other exciting activities. There are some clients who come and tell me that it is so difficult for them to transition after a long conversation with their friend on the phone. So they will think that they want to take some time off after a 30 minute work task or school task and they think I just would like to call my friend, then phone the friend and then they get lost in the conversation. So the conversation let's say just goes for more than 20 minutes whereas they had scheduled a break time of 10 minutes. So after the conversation they just totally lose the focus of whatever the task that they were working on. So this is becoming really difficult especially when you have to go back to your school activity or your school homework. So this is where we have a trouble between having a balance between online and offline activities. So this is, we call often in psychology as a problem with transitioning or sometimes one is so much more interesting. It is always a big drag to go back to working on algebra or your math problems. So we just need to find this balance and that's what I am just going to be talking to you about in this episode. So sometimes too much screen time can just make us feel tired or even a little grumpy. So there are some excellent ways to find a balance between your screen time and your other activities. First, like we just discussed before, it's a good idea to set a timer. Imagine you are playing a game or watching a fun video. Try setting a timer for about 30 minutes. When the timer goes off, that's your cue to take a break and switch things up. It's like hitting the pause button on your screen and pressing play on something new. During your break you can do all sorts of fun things. How about picking up some crayons and drawing a colorful picture? Or maybe you would like to dive into an adventure in a book. You could even step outside, feel the sunshine on your face and play a game of tag with your friends. These activities are like a breath of fresh air for your mind and also your body. Playing outside is an awesome way to balance screen time. When you run, jump and play with your friends, your body gets stronger and you fill up with energy and happiness. It's like your own personal power up. Another great idea is to set some screen time rules with your parents. Maybe you can agree on how much time you will spend on screens each day and what times are best for screen use. It's like creating a plan that helps you enjoy your day even more. Here's another helpful tip, turn off those little notifications that keep popping up on your screen. You know the ones that make your phone beep or buzz. Turning them off can help you stay focused on what you're doing. You can also use a planner or a schedule to map out your day. I think I discussed this briefly in the previous episode but here I'm just telling you you can just write down when you will use screen and when you will do other activities. This way you can make sure you have plenty of time for everything you love from screen time to play time. I have especially heard from my clients that when they come back to a math problem after taking a break they are able to work on it better and find a solution. So taking your mind off and then coming back to your task really helps. And here's another really special one, spend more time with your family and friends doing offline activities like playing board games, cooking or just chatting. These moments are like treasures and they help you feel closer to the people you care about. So let's recap guys. To find a healthy balance between online and offline activities I just want you to look at these eight important steps. Step one, set a timer for screen time. Step two, take breaks to do fun offline activities. Step three, play outside and stay active. Step four, set screen time rules with the help of your parents. Step five, turn off unnecessary notifications. Step six, use a planner to schedule your day. Step seven, finish homework and chores before screen time. Step eight, spend quality time with friends and family. By following these tips you can enjoy your screen time and still have lots of fun doing other activities. So I hope you are able to take these steps into your life as the schools have just started. You must be really excited to start your journal on how to keep a healthy balance between online and your offline activities. Thanks for listening and remember to balance your time and have loads of fun. You have it. Start toolkit for mastering the art of living well in a digital world. Remember it's not about cutting off your connection but it's about creating a space where you thrive both online and offline.
