Hello and welcome to episode 371 of the Games Professional is made by the American Games. The final of the Games Professional is me, Vaimdi with me tonight. We have the magnanimous clarky and we have the pet. Hello. I don't know where to describe you. Hello. You've got, I tell you what, you're looking very happy today. You're very smiley. Either you're auditioning for a part in the joke or you've had some kind of medical something happening. What's going on there with the big beaming smile? This is all very, very convenient timing, isn't it? I mean, you've got what's clearly turkey teeth there. Who else do you know I was being turkey recently and had something done? Did you shit? Did you shit on Jordan? One minute into the new podcast and I'm back. Look where the weird questions have been there. No, I didn't go turkey, no. No, I'm not grease. I didn't get my teeth done in grease, but I'm not. Isn't turkey grease basically the same place? No, no, it's basically not. If I had a bottle, I ain't got a bottle. Imagine this is a bottle. This cough's sweet, here's a bottle. Right. Okay. Good. Good to know. All right. So you've been to grease and while you're in grease, you've obviously had some medical procedures going on there. No, I got my teeth done in England. Really? You'll paid five times the price. Yeah, I don't trust them in grit. There must be some dodgy backstreet Greek bloke. We'll do it for you. A bit of tip X and probably plastic bleach or something. I don't know. They're very nice, Pat. What said someone to pick you up in a morphe? No, it's my teeth. It's not turkey. It's not turkey's teeth. I just whined them. They're not when you eat it. Yeah, they're my teeth. You can't take these off my teeth. Why didn't them? It's the way you're like, it's the way you're listening. It makes you think, just cause you mouth better. Cause you mouth. I mean, they're beautiful to I don't even want to know how much you paid for that. Well, in England, probably enough for a first four fight where Clarky comes from. No, no, I did. I just did the, I didn't, I didn't do any. I didn't do like the, my dentist doesn't do the UV light because he says it is really dangerous. Yeah. I just use the gel at home. That's what it was. Oh, oh, good. So you're not going to use an actually medically prescribed procedure. You're just going to snap some shit in your mouth from a fucking cheap. Brilliant. Yeah. Did you buy your TikTok? No, no, I'm a dentist. Demu was sheen. It's not even like expensive. It was really cheap. It's just the, the, yeah. The gel is really cheap. The gel is like 25 quid, but the, fuck me, the, what's it called? The mouth guard. Like, you know, you like, you put the gel in a mouth guard and then you like, um, I don't know. Okay. This is a learning for me. Yeah. So expensive. The mouth guard to hand. Oh, I was, you know, I can bring it if you want. Yeah. Send it up. Send it up. I just want to see. What are you playing at? What are you playing at now? Do you know what's going to happen? Oh my God. He really has literally legged it out the, out the room. Here he comes. Look. Well, that's, that's pretty. All right. And I put it in. I don't want to put in because I'm brush my teeth. I don't want to get like bacteria on it. Oh, that's true. I don't want to get bacteria. And he's like, probably clean. I can put them in. Okay. I'll put them really quickly. You got a three second rule there. That's, you're fine. You're fine. That's lovely. Now, can you keep them for the rest of the podcast? What did you want to see in those classes? This is what the classes, classes, classes got one of those urges, you know, like you something with a foot fetish, and he's got like a tooth. Have you got, have you got an anorac, a thermos flask and some sandals as well? You know, he does. Queen Diblick. You can, you can Google Dwayne Diblie another time after the show, preferably when we're not talking to you. So we don't have to hear the abuse afterwards. Anyway, welcome back. How was your lovely? Is it, do we classes are holiday when you go back home? Or is it, is it just, why were you there? I'm not a shit man. Brilliant. Okay. There's like, there's like a lamb crisis in Greece at the moment. You know, like how we had like, like mad cow disease. Why are you laughing? Because every pitch you've ever sent me of a lamb, when you're in Greece, I'm not surprised as a fucking crisis, because there's no skin on it. And it's normally burning. That's why it was shit. So I couldn't eat any lamb. There's no lamb. So all I could eat is pork and beef and chicken, which is basically why you hit. Stop. So yeah. So shit, basically, you know, I couldn't go to like to burn this and stuff, could I? Oh, to burn this not to you, pork and chicken and beef. Well, they did, but I went once and I was like, just something. Yeah, it's literally, I always order that. I always order that. Wow, common there. How do you guys get Ryland to guest star on the ship off? What do you mean, Colin? No, is anything different? Yes, I think that's why it's calling you Ryland. And the hair is worse than the skin. It looks worse. Actually, that does that he has brought up the hair now, isn't he? I mean, that is pretty much modeled on Ryland's. Because I was in Greece I couldn't get my hair cut. Well, I could have, but I think I think I didn't want to cheat on my bar. Well, I didn't want to cheat on your upper. Yeah, I'm getting like offended if I use someone else. Actually, my God, you know what, my, the guy who used to cut my hair, I can't see where I get cut, but there's the new lady that cuts my hair now. Starting absolutely stunning. That's all I've got to say. You know, that happens like patients fall in love with their nurses. Okay, I used to work in mental health mates. So, we're trying to avoid that as much as possible. What happened? Look how that ended up. Anyway, like I said, like it's good to be back something like relax a little bit and stuff. So you basically been, I mean, Greece is practically Germany. So you've basically been our Gamescom live correspondent for the last couple of years. Yeah, yeah, you're happy. Yeah. Shall I give you a chance to quickly get to igns.com/gamescom24. Gamescom. Yeah, that's fine. That's it. Yeah. So, Gamescom has been happening. It has. Well done. Yes. This is, this is priceless. This is, it's been, it's been going on. Yep, it's been going on. Good. Should we help about clarky? Or should we just let him wall over? Oh, no, I'll leave him to it. Okay. I'm sure I'm maybe you're quizzing a bit. Pat, was there any like the biggest announcements on Gamescom? I wouldn't mind knowing some specific announcements at Gamescom that things that might actually be interesting, not necessarily just a list of stuff that you have to pull up. No, absolutely not. We will get to that. You know, some topics I would like for example, did anything interesting happen as regards the new Xbox exclusive Indiana Jones game? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yeah. They announced that you had a new game play trailer. Yep. And they announced that it's what was the release? Can you remember? What was that? So it's come to PS5. It's come to PS5. Well, when is it? Well, that's, well, I will just break that down for you right now. Right. It's coming. Right. I guess it's coming. Good. To the PS5. Well done. Uh huh. This is December the 9th, 2004 on Xbox. That's, that's right. Yeah, that's good, isn't it? I'd say December. That's, that's not too far away. That's good. And I imagine it's got a nice lengthy window of exclusivity. Yes. You imagine, right? Do I? Oh, yeah, what's what's lengthy and exclusive terms fit for, for what's on this one? Six months is it's extensive. Okay. I'm going to have to. Sure. I would call that, I don't know if I call that a massively long exclusivity window. No, no, no, no, it's not that long. We didn't die. It's got some issues. I say, how long is it? Oh my dear God. What are you actually googling now? I'm not googling anything. So it's coming to PS5 in spring 2025. That's right. Well done. Which is only probably about four to six months. Oh, I took six months. That's probably six months at the outside of exclusivity for Xbox before it comes to PlayStation 5. Spring doesn't end until June, does it? Yeah, I class it as March, April, May. What are the actual three minutes of about up to three months? Three months. Right. So it's coming out in March, is it? Wow. Okay. That doesn't seem like a very long time at all. No, so it comes out December the 9th on Xbox alongside the PC release. And then we'll arrive on PC in early 2025. That suggests that if it is approved of up to three months, oh, maybe PlayStation spring, then I assume it's spring. Yes. Good. Good. So do you have any media thoughts on that? Yes. If I could if I could ask you for your opinion on hold on one second. Yep, be finding it clarky. Look, people have never seen a move before. That's unbelievable. They've never seen a move. Is it a job on a job on a heart? What is that guy called? Oh, God, really? Is it a job on the heart? We're trying so hard not to be sizes tonight. Oh, it's not sizes. What's that guy's name? Jeff of the heart. Yeah. Oh, it's a job with a heart. What are my thoughts about the bike ninja? I love it as a PSY bow. No, it's fantastic. Another reason for me not to buy an Xbox. You don't need to buy an Xbox, do you? No, because clarky's giving me his Xbox S series. Yeah, he's a very generous man. But if I didn't have that, it's just a sign that everything's going to be common along. You know, this was the one thing that they really wanted to hold on to. It felt like like it's probably the next big thing they got. I can't think of anything big after this might be missing something. Probably. Probably. But Indiana Jones is like the big exclusive that they've been telling us to hold off and wait for. And it's going to be amazing. Blah, blah, blah. And it may well be. But then they say on, by the way, it's only exclusive for three months, four months, whatever. It seems like a little bit of a kick in the tea. Yeah. If anybody does want to buy a series X, just give me a shout. It depends if you're dumb or if you're clever. Oh, good. Good, right. Okay. You've done and clever here. Come on. Well, if you're done, then you believe them and you listen to them. It's only four games and this was only happening to four games and no one would ever have believed that. Did you find any podcast evidence of us ever not leaving that? No, no, of course not. I listened back to our podcast. That's what he's referencing. And even then when this was announced, like the full game, it's only four games and that old people coming out like some biased people were saying, oh, well, you know, there's no more to buy for C of these. It makes sense. You know, it's this, it's that it's, you know, in all the other games. We never, like if you're, if you had any two cents, you knew this was just the beginning. This is what they do. This is what they all do, not just them. This is what we said back then. I called them the word I use specifically were savages. You need to do shit slowly. It's like electric cars. They introduced, oh, buying electric car. There's no road tax. You want pain in road tax? Everyone buying a back on fucking you lies again, isn't he? Yeah, buying electric car for everyone. There's no road tax buying electric car because we're all about the environment. The only reason we're charging you is because of the carbon emissions. That's the only reason we're charging you. That's it. So buying an electric car. There's no, I, everyone bought an electric car. Oh, wait, shit. We're not making any money now. You're paying us now. Now there's road tax on electric cars. But why now? I'm not, my electric cars not making any carbon industry. Well, fuck you, pay me. So if you're dumb and you thought, I'm going to buy electric cars, we're not going to buy it. I'm not going to pay, um, road tax and carbon emission charges for the next 20 years. You're dumb. This is just, they always do this. They prod you a little bit to, to see how it flies because it's, it's better do it. This, because the uproar would have been like, if they came out and said, you know what, from now on this strategy, anything that we produce in the next six months, don't be surprised 50 50 if it goes to PlayStation, Nintendo and other competitors, because everyone would have erupted. So they, so, so you dip your toe in, you test the wall, you go, what's four games? Everyone goes, it's only four games. In another year, it's another four games, another year, it's another forget. All right. What I said back then was it's not the issue of the four games. That's what I said in the, in that, in that previous show, I can't remember the number, but when we first discussed it back in February, this was what I said is it sets the presidents. And that's the problem. Why you have to protest against these fuck if you believe in it, you don't have to, but why you have to protest things in the first place, even if they seem small, it's because of the future complications that actions could bring small. They know what they're doing. I'm not talking about this because it's in the, to me, this is still not a big thing. I think we all knew that there was going to be like more than four games and all that. And we all knew that Xbox were leading towards breaking, you know, not having exclusives anymore and giving games to PlayStation blah, blah, blah. I think we all knew that. I think what we're surprised about is the shorter amount of time between it launching on Xbox and launching on PlayStation. If they had said it was coming, you know, and it will come to, I don't know, it will come to PlayStation holiday 2025, you know, so coming out September, October, I think most people will look on. Well, that seems kind of reasonable. Yeah, that's fine. If you leave it too long, no, I'll care. Yeah, exactly. But the point is, if you're against stuff in the first place, if it seems like a small step, you should actually read between the lines and all this stuff, not on this, this is minor. But I'm talking about like politics and about this. Oh, like, you know, we only want to do this to a little smaller. It's going to spread. This is how this is how all of this starts. Like, oh, we're going to, we're just going to do, we're just going to, like you said, the units. We're only going to do the units in zone one and two. That's all we're going to do. Don't worry. It's just so when you and your kids in the foreign and the French and the Spanish in there, they come into London, they can have a little more better experience than it. And now they've got the Eulers in zone six, when there's no carbon admission. Oh, it's about carbon admissions, is it? Oh, okay, that's why you got it next to the parts of it. Because the zone six is the same as it is in zone one. But this is the bullshit they buy. This is welcome to the politics. So call it out. I call it out. I work. Oh, it's fucking bullshit. You're telling me this shit now. It's six months time. You're going to, I'm going to bend over. You're going to shove me the other one. This is why you're recording in your mum's bedroom. Yeah. Well, what do you mean one recorded? Well, this is how they start. This is how they start. Oh, no, no one's no one's saying it's not. I think that's what we said at the time, wasn't it? There's not going to be four games anymore. All I'm saying is it was a surprise to have they announced the launch date, you know, in the trailer, and then literally five seconds later or so, and in three to four months, time it'll be out on PlayStation. I don't, that's the bit, Pat, that is an almost surprise it's going to PlayStation. It's the fact that it's going to PlayStation so quickly after it's just like, well, then, you don't need that. Even your most stool or Xbox apologist, Clarky, would, you know, be kind of like, what's the fucking point of having an Xbox right now? What is the point? Because if you're going to have, if you're going to have one console, right, excluding Nintendo from this, because they just operate on a different level, if you're going to have like one console at the moment, are you going to go for the most powerful console in the world, Xbox, right? Or are you going to have the console that still has a load of excuses that you won't be able to play anywhere else, but we'll still get every other game anyway. It's just it. I don't see the PC. Yeah, exactly. I mean, at the moment, I'm literally, I'm waiting for this cycle to finish, and then that's me out of Game Pass on Xbox. I'm just going to boot up, have Game Pass on PC, because there's no point me having it on Xbox anymore. I'll save myself nigh on, what is it, seven quid a month, so 70, only in the end of a career or whatever, just by doing it on PC, might even sell one of the Xboxes, because there's no fucking point. You've got all those people that have jumped on that, so stack your game pass. All right, another seven years and I'm out of this. Like I said, back then, we shouldn't make this an Xbox, the principle of what's going on, shouldn't be an Xbox battery thing, because the important thing to note is that all the same shit, the all-sabages, and they they will all like this to get our money. Yeah, of course, of course they do. That's called marketing, but the point is right, the point is Xbox is on this occasion now. Hang on, hang on. You don't see the last of us coming to Xbox. No, you don't see Spidey coming to Xbox, but you see PlayStation right in the price of the PlayStation. Yeah, that's nothing to do with this, is it, right? We're talking about whole-changing business model. No, I don't care about that, man. Of course they lied to, it's called marketing. It's like what you do with your bloody portals of vision or whatever you call it in your fucking buildings or whatever it is. Well, everybody's fucking, if you're trying to sell something, you're lying, right? And if you ain't, you're lying, okay? It's not about that. What I'm saying is here, I've got no fucking idea what Xbox are doing at the moment now with this, because it's like, okay, yeah, we all got rounds to the idea that, yes, okay, well, things aren't going to be exclusive. And now it's that exclusive. You're only getting like for three months. Yes, you're getting it free on Game Pass, but if you've got the top tier now, how much money, yeah, well, there is that as well. If you're paying, if you're paying that kind of money, you're paying 16 quid a month for whatever, you're paying nearly 200 quid a year, right? You better be bringing me some decent exclusive games that I want to play day one for me to be wanting to stick with Game Pass at the moment. You were used to people the best deal in gaming, but now if you're taking your exclusives and sticking on the PlayStation as well, really. Yeah, that too. And the quality of the games, right? Because what I said, what I predicted in February happening happened. So I predicted they always do this. It's so predictable. They announce a shit show. And then they say, like, they got bad news comes out. And then they usually do like a direct to show you all these things. And this will happen to the four games. They had the four games, everyone went mental. And then they were like, look, all these clues we got that are going on about hellblade, hellblade this, hellblade that. Never mentioned it was four hours long. Never mentioned it's like lost features that it used to have. So yeah, okay, you're going to get exclusive. What's the quality exclusive? If they're dreadful, if they're hellblades, then bond them. We're not interested. If they're elder scrolls quality, then bring them. But what were we getting though? Because there was a lot of us about Starfield. Is it good Starfield? I can't remember that game we should be talking about. Seriously, it's taking probably what it's called, Lucky. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. It's free car. Free car. Yeah, this had a free car update, Pat. You missed it. Free car. Yeah, you get free car in in Starfield. Yeah, yeah. I think they went on about it for about 25 minutes. This was the game that we thought we were going to be talking about like it was the next Skyrim for the next 20 years. It came and gone within three months ago. They'll never be in the sky room. Even the next elder scrolls get more than in the sky room. So yeah, so mind it, what I question is, what's the quality of these exclusive common four? I mean, the only obvious clues I can think of beyond Indiana Jones is elder scrolls. But that's the point. They're not even exclusive, right? They're not, they're not even exclusive anymore. That's that's the point, right? It doesn't really matter about the quality of them anymore because I look at it and go, look, okay, high fire rush at the time, great exclusive, not for me, it's not my kind of game, right? It doesn't tick my boxes at all. So what's the point? It could be as great as you want, but if it doesn't tick for my boat, I'm not interested, okay? Indiana Jones floats my boat, right? And now you're giving it somebody else. Okay, well in that case, what's the point of me having an Xbox right now? There isn't one, right? Because if I'm going to invest in an infrastructure, if I'm going to say I'm going to, at the moment, my library split, right? Four ways, Nintendo PC, what? Nintendo, Steam, okay? Those are basically these everything's Xbox and PlayStation, right? Xbox and PlayStation, my libraries are split on that. Some games I've got on Xbox, some games I've got on PlayStation. If I'm buying future games, I'm going to be, where am I going to buy? I'm going to buy my games at PlayStation. What I said back then was the only complication is that we are gamers and we need everything they want. So people, that's what that's called. It's older now. I'm getting older. It's like, you know, do I? Well, I definitely don't know. What I counted that was, yeah, we bite, they want to be played a year later is what I said. But some people do want it, they want, you know, I don't want the reviews to come out and it's a 10 out of 10. People are like, fuck, wait, in six months, I will, I will buy it now if Xbox have everything three months earlier, you know, some people will buy three months earlier. But my argument remains the same, which is this news of games coming to PlayStation because Xbox was spilling it like it's, it's, it's good for the game, for the gamers and it's good for Xbox as well because they might, you know, a PlayStation player might play seal thieves and I go, or Halo and be like, Oh, I want to play the other halos. Oh, but they're only available in the Xbox. I'm going to go buy an Xbox and they'll try and sell it as if this is good for Xbox. It's good for everyone, including Xbox. Bullshit. This is good for PlayStation people. It adds nothing to Xbox users. It doesn't. It doesn't. It doesn't. Then go in now on PlayStation. It doesn't make Xbox players. There's no benefits there for Xbox players, even though they're trying to spread this bullshit to you guys to keep you guys happy. You got to look through it. There's no, no, you're not. How is this better for me as an Xbox player? I've only got an Xbox hat. My life hasn't changed. It's equal, hasn't made it worse. That hasn't made my, my game experience better because now you're releasing exclusive everywhere. Yeah, it makes my, my, my Xbox experience feel worse because it devalues the platform. Yeah. Yeah, true. It makes it worse for anything. Yeah. So, I mean, it's a good thing for everyone. Clark, you're quiet, mate. This is normally where you jump in and start giving you a little words of wisdom, you're a little, I went to T-line. I don't, I don't know. I have no Xbox anymore. Yeah. It's got me. Yeah. He's passed on the disease. Yeah. What, what the future is for this company? I mean, like we, yeah, that's what we said. Game, games and an app. What ones it was saying in that, I'll be episode, sorry to go back to it again. He just like them. Just, just, just, let's, let's quick recording, right? If it were, you could just go back and, and download episode two or something. They know they've lost the console war and then they're not interested in that. They're not interested in selling more. It's, they're, they're interested in selling game parts. That's, that's, that's, yeah. But they, I don't think they're interested in that anymore. Because if they're interested in game parts, they'd have kept the exclusives. That's the whole point. Because what, what sells game parts, exclusives? Day one exclusives. Day one exclusives. And now when you start to split out now, so you've got different tiers of game parts where some people do get it day one, so don't get it day one, some people, whatever, you just, I don't know what their game plan is anymore. And I hate to say it because I like the guy, everyone likes the guy. Bill Spencer's kind of fucked it. You know, I did just, he's gone with this risky model of, let's see if it's game pass rental, Netflix service works. It, you know, it's, it's a tricksy one to sort of pass, isn't it? I doesn't look like he's working at the moment. It really doesn't. Yeah. I mean, I was going to say, has he been let down by other companies as well? I mean, he was expecting, expecting, uh, baby, his baby, uh, I was going to say he was expecting Bethesda to do a great job and put out a banger. He was expecting a lady to be a banger. But I guess he's the one, let's be honest, we've been waiting for Bethesda to put out a banger since Skyrim, right? Look at that. Yeah. We're excluding dooms. Okay. Yeah. Wolfenstein. Wolfenstein. Yeah, which I think dooms come out and PlayStation as well, isn't it? Mm hmm. I believe it is. Yeah, I don't know. That was the, that was the most, I'll get a hold of games come as in kind of the most shocking, not shocking, but just kind of like, that was the biggest surprise for me was that the short length of time on the exclusivity window on that one. So there we go. Was there anything else that came out of games come that you're excited about? No, without scrolling down through. What did you, Clarky, what did you think of the return of the Molinie? Oh, yeah. He looked really fucking unhealthy, didn't he? Yeah. What was it this time? Did you not watch it? Did I fuck? He was bringing out a brand new game called Masters of Albion. It sounds remarkably copy right near, very near to fable. It's basically black and white again. It's a good game, in some terms, the black and white. But there are elements of it, and he was careful, I think, not to promise too much, but where you could kind of like, if you sort of sent a villager out to go and get wood or something like that and chop down a tree or something like that, and then he ran into a group of walks or something like that, you can kind of zoom in and control that person in third person to kind of do the combat if you wanted to. And then, yeah, zoom back into God mode and get back on with it. So very much a return to what Pete Molinie used to be good at. It was just really weird to see him fumbled back onto the screen again. But yeah. The opening night live stuff was pretty good. You had some really good interesting games. There was about a read and a breakout game I was talking to you about Clarkie, which is a bit like Tarkov, but slick, kind of like shorter if you like. It's instead of being like massively having to tool up and go hunting round arenas for ages. Like big maps, it's a much smaller shrunken down experience. There was that new Delta Force game, which I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, and that looks really good. So there's a few things in there that I'm excited about. But, yeah, pretty much most of it. I don't kind of remember trying to think of decent reveals that were involved. I think they were amazing exclusives that were in on it. Trying to think anything, Pat? I was in Greece when I was, when I was, uh, he was being strange. I don't know what excuses a lot of stuff, but nothing jumps out now. Oh, um, black myth, wukong. Oh, I got it. You bought that, didn't you? Yeah, you had to jump on the hype train. I'm presuming you've not actually played it yet. I played about half an hour of it. Okay. So that's not good enough to give a review. So all I'm all I'm going to say is hands down the best looking game. I've played this generation. What do you think, um, PC? That would explain it. No, seriously. Uh, okay. Okay. Um, obviously it's not, uh, it's not as old as I can. It plays a bit more like, I think God of War without 60 hours of cut scene than it. That sounds good. It is the cut. Yeah, it'd be nice if you literally just literally just walk through the area, come to an area, fight something and just go to another, you know, keep walking, fight some more. Yeah, I'll wait for it to drop. It'll drop down to 20s. You know, you don't want to be one of those two million people playing it. No, no, no, no. I liked it. I liked to sort of, you know, instead of getting invested in all the hype train, I want to go for those those small underdog games, like what's that? Concord, I believe that launched as well, didn't it? I imagine pet being a hardcore multiplayer gamer has been all over Concord. Uh, you've got a really, really strong chance of being number one in the world on this game. I know. I think we have enough fingers combined to actually give a figure of the amount of people currently playing this. Um, so tips to go and have a look, but it means people on the stream on steam. It's easy to see the numbers. And I saw that in the first 22 hours, which is like the busiest period, right? Because it's just launched. It peaked with under 700 people online at once. Wow. And it's 200. The first day when it in 22 hours, it had like 697. It peaked on steam. Now, that can include the PlayStation users and you would expect maybe there'll be more in PlayStation because it's a PlayStation game, maybe, but it's also a seven equid on PlayStation and I don't know what it is. Remind me. I don't know how many people are going to talk like you're internet shit in your new house. What would you say? Wait, wait, wait, wait. I got to find out where. Are you getting in power? Is he just being weird? No, I'm getting it too as well. It sounds very roughly sounds like your mics may be stuck in your beard again. Is it one of those? He's trying to just be able. I have not. Yeah, I've trimmed that. That's that's the winner's bushes. It usually is. I want it's almost like you've taken your hygiene seriously for a change. Look, if I want to know what you click on so I can find out the current number. I don't know. I saw it in skilops video. That's why he's breaking up is because he's gone on fucking steam and it's this stream started to just dial in because your speech is going like that. Yeah, under 700. Under 700. Me in the first day in the first 22 hours, man. What do you think? I don't know if it's 70 quid. It might be a 40 quid release. I can't remember. I've heard it was premium release, but I could well go wrong on that one. Do you want me to check Amazon if it is? No, don't check Amazon because you'll crash it all in all. I will fucking smash my phone if it's 70 quid. I'm checking now. Okay. If it's 70 quid on Amazon, I'm fucking I don't think it might be 40, but even so, man, even if it's off and I'm going if it's if it's if it's if it's above 40. What's it called? Concord. Yeah. Don't you fuck. Oh, I found it. I found it. You found it. Currently, on Steam, there's currently 162 people playing it. Pat, you could be good at this game. It's 45 quid or not. Okay. The old time peak was 697. Wow. There's 697. The peak. That's appalling. That's bad. That's really bad. The peak in the first day clocky. Can you see what something like Redfall got? Redfall. Redfall. What is first? It's concurrent because that was that was deemed a massive fucking fail. You wasn't there. Yeah. And then do us a favor. I bet it had more than 700. And then do one more. Do you like an old game like Team Fortress 2? What, currently? It's probably playing that now. You could put a day of defeat in there, mate, and it's probably going to be like, yeah, yeah. I'm not even saying like counter striking shit, just like. Redfall's all-time peak was 6124. There's currently 28 people playing it now. How many of you should have? How many of you was it 100 and something? We're playing Concord and 28. The peak is 697. You think it's 6,000. Yeah. What did you want to check, Pat? Team Fortress 2. Just as an example, Karik, like right now. Because now we're just kicking the bitch when it's- Yeah. No, I just want to know, like Team Fortress 2 that came out 15 years ago, what has that currently got now? And it's only even peak. I'm not talking about peak now. 48,360 right now. On a Thursday. On a Wednesday, sorry. Yeah. I think it's safe to say Concord's fucked it. Fucked. Fucked. Placed these fucking idiots. You wanted to put money into multiplayer online games because you saw hell divers and your little cocks went like that and got excited. You had a one-off little fucking thing and you thought every little flamingo came out and said, "Well, you need to do it more." And then we even did get placed as your gamers want this. Whoa. How can it now? What? It's true. That's what they did. So they can live with the consequences now. I fucking smashed them early. Why it's out your fucking face in a minute. Oh man, I'll do it. It's true. That's what they did. That's what they did. Well, we have to have a wake or something. Can't take him. Every time he says something, I think he's trying to sell me something. He's not going to say he's going to lie to you. That's what he's going to do. He's going to lie to you. That's a smile of a liar. Yeah, that's what it is. Oh, mate. Yeah, baby. It was just me and the lights out this weekend. And also for other music for Pat as well, New Mafia game announced. Really? Oh, you really used to have one job. Pat brings the news to you. I think that's the lyric, isn't it? Yeah, I do. That was a Greek one manually. Don't give me that. I don't know, Internet in Greece now. I mean, they've got one on one of them. But they've definitely got into it. What year is it set? It's a pre-desessor prequel sort of thing. Two free. It's all Mafia one. It's like the rise of the fam. That's the best years. So that's like, who's that guy? Who's that famous Mafia guy back in the day? Al Capone. Like Al Capone days, basically. Yeah, I presume so. That's my understanding of it. It's also, isn't it? Just come out on, is it just come out on Game Pass or PlayStation class or something like the Mafia Collection? Hold on. So if you want to catch up, now's your chance. Which I nearly did. I nearly downloaded the Mafia, the pinnative. Because I was like, no, I've got nothing to pay, but yeah, I've not played. I'll be real. I haven't played anything for the last two weeks. I've had such a bucket. I've had two weeks off to look after the kids and it's been full on. So I've not played anything apart from Cuphead with my son, who's now completed that and the DLC. Which I was so funny enough used to be an Xbox exclusive. He's playing on Switch. Why has he finished it? Has he just run into it on the easy mode? No, no, he's completed it. He's like finished it on, he's just working it through on the expert level. Yeah, he's absolutely muddled. He's done all the normal levels or whatever it was. And he's done the delicious last course, the DLC as well. He's absolutely fine-cained it. He's actually written me, I think I've got it to hand, actually. He's written me a manual with pictures on how to play Cuphead because I was so... Shit, that's it. Can I have a look at that? I'll send it on. It'll be 6.99 on Amazon, but I'll be end of the week. Can I play that? Well, that's what I don't think I've played to. I don't think I've actually booted up like a proper games console. No, hold on, it doesn't matter because Coleman wants to know. I was Taylor Swift and Woolley's son about something to do with shit-kicking, but I don't know what that's about. Taylor Swift was exactly as Taylor Swift was, so I took Taylor, I took Taylor. I took my daughter to go and see Taylor in Wembley last... Hello, Chess. Monday? Last Monday. And she was exactly what you thought she would be. She was a very professional, massive show, awesome to watch. Fucking expensive. Not particularly personal. So it wasn't like she spent a lot of time chatting to the audience. But yeah, it was exactly early. It was worth it because my daughter cried her fucking eyes out. It's really funny to get. What, how much? How much? No, we got the best... Apart from going through like stupidly VIP stuff, we got the best seats in the house, as it were, for 200 quid, under 200 quid. It's like under 300 quid, which is too much fucking money for a ticket to see pretty much anything. But as it's a once in a lifetime sort of thing... Why is it once in a lifetime? Because we ain't going to see her again at those prices, mate. That's a fucking chance. Because, honestly, because I don't know what she does next. I mean, she tours again. Maybe we'll go and see her, but it's like, you know... My daughter's 14. So she just, if she tours again in like a couple of years, she might not want to go with me. She might want to go with her friends or whatever. So yeah, for me, it was a little bit of a lifetime experience. You take her to see all your aces. Yeah, I'm trying. Clark, if you could go and see any band or musician, whatever a life. Steps. That's for Clark, you'll say steps. Who would you go and see your lucky? I'd probably want to see David Bowie again. Oh, okay. That's a nice answer. I would see... No, you wouldn't. I would see Elvis, I think, or Michael Jackson. Fat Elvis or proper Elvis? No, not fat Elvis. Do you think that you should be serving fools gold at the... Fools fools, stem roses, nice choice. Yeah, lovely. That or like a Bon Jovi concert back in the day must have been awesome. Oh, yeah, Bon Jovi concert. I want to go see Queen. I'd like to go and see Queen at their pump with Freddie. I mean, there's no point going to see her. That's a good shout. I'd like to go and see Queen. Yeah, that would be cool. Not 500 quick to remind me when I hit the 90s. I thought I'd be watching all those and my wife. I'm watching all those like every number one for like the other decade and stuff like that on YouTube and things. And it's just terrible. It's just awful. Why? Because it just makes me feel really funny in the book. If there's loads of songs or things, you actually remember the lyrics. So you're like, "Oh my God." That was like 40 years ago. But for that... Corn was just, I went to the Sunday show but there was no songs just wrestling question work. Was it, did you recall me? Did you go to AEW? Because I wanted to do that. I think that was on Sunday. Pretty sure we would have done. Is Taylor Swift wrestling? No. In the mod. In the mod. The aide called Mercedes. That's the only way Clark, you would have a fund like... I think Mercedes was wrestling. Nice. Snoop Dogg's cousin, actually. She is, I think. Yeah, she now. No, he... Anyway, that's cool. That's fine, China. That's a video game. Pat, what are you even playing? I'm gonna play in a new game. You'll be happy. Nah! We know this one. We know this from before, right? Your version of new and everyone else's version of new. Sometimes it can be different. The Doom 1 and 2 combination pack that got real. It's a new game, Clarky. It's a new game, aren't you? New games have to be rebadged old games, then they do 1 and 2. I've been playing that. Hang on, is this Doom 1 and 2 like O.G. Doom? Or is it in, like, Doom 2016? No, it's 1 and 2. What? The original... Yeah, it came out in the minute. You know how it goes in the pixels. You know how about this? No, I'm serious. I haven't picked up a pack for two weeks. Doom 1 and 2 combined as a pack came out again, they've re-released it with some new features. What, graphics? What new features? What could you use? The name, smoothing. The main new feature is... Way through. That even the console version now has all the mods, which is cool. 'Cause, you know, on PC you could get loads of mods. But on the console version you'd get, like, the official ones. But now you can get, like, making it anything that the PC's got. And then the other new feature is you can do, like, up to 16-player multiplayer. So, like, Doom 1 has 16-player multiplayer co-op. How can you tell the difference? It's a shit show on the multiplayer. I'm telling you now. Absolutely shit show for a hard time. What did you buy this song? So, good news is, if you've ever bought Doom 1... Ever? Or Doom 2? No one ever bought Doom. Did you share that one? Like, recently, if you bought, like, the last version that came out on PlayStation 4. How many versions of it are clarky? Get on that. How many versions of Doom would you use? No, I'm not going to do any pop-ups. Yeah, it's free for anyone who's bought the other version. So, if you bought one switch, you bought an Xbox you bought in PlayStation. You could download this version for free. Okay. Which is pretty cool. That's nice of them. So, technically, not a new game then, just an update. Well, do you know, this gets me on a subject I wanted to discuss. May I, Ramsay? Er, he may. I've also, when I went to Greece, I did the Switch. I didn't really play much Switch. Not enough to talk about anything. But I was playing my little crank, my little playdate. You know, the Black and White. Play with the little crank, yeah. And what I was thinking was, basically, I'm officially ready to, like, announce something, basically. It's not a big announcement, but I think like... We all knew Pear. We've known for years. I'll come to terms with it. It's the teeth, it's the hair, it's the car. We all know. What do you mean? What's wrong with my car? Well, I'm presumably coming out, aren't you? No! I'm not gay. I'm not gay. I'm not, there's anything wrong with it. I'm just not, and I will never be. So, that's, that's that. Sorry, fellas. It's just not happening. But what I've realized, basically, is, I'm happy, basically, being a retro game, I know. Like that, I'm... No, shit, Sherlock. Not, like, but officially now. I thought you said "news", not "olds". Literally. I'm not done, done. Well, like, I ain't, I agree. I got to be three points on that. Isn't that, isn't that done, Donny? Meaning it will carry on playing for what I thought. In one of the titles, Clarkeie, like, in one of the titles, but it's just like... I was playing PlayStation 2 and not in Greece. I took my PlayStation 2 over. Actually, I bought another PlayStation 2 and left that one in Greece. It's not just big titles. How are the tears of the Kingdom going? I haven't played that yet. All right, okay. But I've got a list, though, Clarkeie, here. And basically, this is how I named it, yeah. I named it, basically, Series, yeah. Which I could stop playing now and be happy with. Basically, yeah. So I could, um, fighting games, for example, I could easily never play another Street Fighter. I could just stick to Street Fighter 2. I could stick with Street Fighter 2 the rest of my life. I don't, I don't need another Street Fighter. I'm happy not to... God knows, but enough of a legend, isn't it? Do you know what I mean, though? But like, the new Street Fighter and the new ones coming after that, Street Fighter 3 was really good. I really liked the Street Fighter Alpha Max series, especially Street Fighter Alpha Max 3. But Street Fighter 2 is the best one, and that came out on the Sega. That's why I decided. Football games. I've never enjoyed anything more than I've enjoyed Pro Evo, PES6, on the PS2. I don't really... I don't need a new Street. What, PES3? PES3, PES3, PES3, I have written that down. I don't, I don't need another thing. Basketball games, NBA Life 2011. That's probably my favourite one, NBA Street 2, on the PlayStation 2. Willy, this could be your chance, mate. Stay tuned. Online FPS. I'm never getting better than Cod 4. That's my favourite Cod. I don't, the new one with the mechanics, and all the ones before that, there's been shit loads before. I don't need a Battlefield 3. I enjoyed the new Battlefield, but Battlefield 3, I don't need to play another one. That was my favourite. I could, if you said to me, Battlefield 3 was online with players, the rest of that would be good. Offline FPS, the OG Doom. I don't need another offline. Wrestling games, N64, no mercy. Fantasy games, Skyrim PS3. I don't need, there is some exceptions. Skyrim on PS3, the most broken version of it. Or whatever that Skyrim, that PC version, that, you know, that Switch version, whatever it is, the PSVR version. But I don't need another, there is some exceptions I've thought of, yeah? Adventure games. I do want to play new adventure games, the naughty dog games. If it was another naughty dog game, I would want to play it. If there's another Zelda game, although I've written here, I prefer the old-style Zelda games, like the up-down U, like how the new Zelda game's coming out. But I want to play the new Zelda game. You've got the new Zelda game. Yeah, you've played it. Personas, I probably want to play the new ones of those, okay? For sure, they're all old games, right? Because basically, JRPGs don't ever sort of evolve, do they? They're all the same game. These are some exceptions. GTA, okay, I'd 100% want to play the new GTA day one. You can't have it both. Oh, yeah, you can, sorry. And then there's one of companies, like Kojima Production, I want to see what he's making. But basically, for everything else, for fighting games, for football games, for basketball games, for online FPS, offline FPS, wrestling games, fantasy games, I could easily just not play. I don't care. We've been telling you this for fucking years. Stop buying FIFA every fucking year. You know, there's absolute, don't buy cold every fucking year. I don't know what you're doing. No. The only exception to that is battlefield. Even battlefield and its pump was doing like, what, once every three years? Well, there was always like a gap. So, you know, it's... Um, I don't know why you don't believe me, Wendy. I haven't bought cold in ages. No, you haven't. Yeah. Professional, yeah. No, he hasn't. He hasn't. FIFA. I haven't played FIFA since like FIFA 19. I'm done. Like, I'm not interested. This is truly a game as confessional right now. Yeah, this is a confessional. This is why it's so hard. I actually prefer talking about the stuff, analyzing the stuff, reading about the stuff that I do play. I don't want to play these games, con games. I'm not interested. The one of games I am. But I'll tell you what, I'm more happy playing a fucking Game Boy game. I think the peak was like a PS2, PS3 era of games. That for me is peak. Every game now, I find myself buying less and less games on every new console, PS5. I've hardly bought fuck. But I think that's the same for everyone, I know. I mean, I don't even, I don't buy games. Because I used to, you know, I used to, you know, me, I used to turn up and be fucking like, oh, I bought this game and that game and this game. It's not about like, I was playing my cousin walked in, I was playing Time Crisis 2 on the, I've been calling the crew 2 on the PlayStation. And he was like, oh, the graphics solution. But it's like, that doesn't, I get excited playing that game as if it was the first time I ever played it. Like, if it's a good game, it's a good game to me. I don't, it doesn't, it makes no difference if it's old to me. It really doesn't. Like, I would rather play that than play the new Lead for Speed, which they shut down the toilet. I used to love that one. It was the new for Speed on the Grand days, the Burnout. - Yeah, I'd get that. - Well, I'd burn out a big down and stuff like that. Burnout free takedown was amazing. Burnout 2 was really good. But, it makes no difference to me. Like, I prefer that stuff. I prefer the old stuff. I've come to terms with it. - We will, it's not exactly news, mate. We all knew this. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I don't really see myself. It's terrible for being a podcast reviewer, because I'm not really... - Well, I don't think anyone's ever thought you were that. But, you know, that's fine. - But I'm not really going to be buying that many new games. Unless there's a one-off thing I want to really play. - But I think that's the same. It's like, at the moment, this is what we talk about over summer. It's like, I haven't played shit at all. I've got... I went back to play... What'd you call it? That storley-sorley-sorcery game thingy. Clarky, you know. Elden Ring, that's the fucking thing. You can't look at him. He's just sitting there. Clarky's on mute. He's taking his headphones off. He's given up on life. This is what you've done to impair. So I went back and played like a bit of Elden Ring, and I've dumped time into games I've already played. Because nothing that's coming out that's new is particularly interesting. - You've played Elden Ring. - I played Elden Ring. I put hours into Elden Ring. I just had to put the wall into this like different playthroughs and got to the same point and stops. - Well, I was just doing wrong vibes because it's not that I'm... And I think it's the same for you, but, Karim, if I'm wrong, it's not that I've got older and I'm not interested anymore. I've got another hobby. I'm really interested in video games. I love video games. I'm just not interested in the new shit. I don't know if it's like... - Whoa. - What? - Go on, Clarky. - I think maybe it's this style, Clarky. There's one of people that will always attract me. Don't get me wrong. But I said Kojima, but even Kojima, he's got like a unique style from the mid to late 90s, which is what I like. It isn't like... It's like the new generation of music. I prefer most music. I do. I love Elvis. You know, it's not like I wasn't born in the Elvis days, but that's the music I prefer. I prefer 80s music. I love 80s music. I love hardcore hip hop. Like the DMX plays the Wu-Tang Clan days. I can't listen to this fucking little pump and little dickhead music. I don't like it. Scorturing storms in... Billy Bob. - Billy Bob Thorpe. - Billy Bob Thorpe. Billy Bob Thorpe in me. Like, it's just not for me. It's not for me. Now, if you regenerate it, if you regenerate it, then I'm all in it. - That's the problem, isn't it? 'Cause we were talking about plugging those. I've been trying to find a decent fucking online shoot of rages. There's nothing, nothing floats. But, you know, I've just tried that arena in front of breakout job a thing, because, you know, but it's just over complicated. - But here's the difference between me and you, though. Yeah. If nothing floats your boat, but back in the day, you used to get that proper buzz playing a specific game. Why are you no longer playing that specific game? 'Cause she has been playing Team Fortress 2. I'm playing Cod 4. - Well, apparently more than a playing console for sure. - Exactly. So, why do you, like, we could be playing Battlefield 3, but you don't want to. Why not? That gave you the buzz. That was an amazing experience. It still is too big. - I think there are. - Yeah, yeah, it might do, but I also think there's a... I think... - Why don't you play the old stuff, then? - I don't know. Part of it is... I want something to excite me again, and I've played those games, you know, I've played Battlefield 3. It's like, there's never going to be a change there. You're always going to be playing on the same maps. There's never. One of the exciting things about playing Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, whether you want to call it, at that time was, you know, you were getting a new map or three every couple of months, right? It's like, oh, yeah, we've, you know, the thing we played that Pucking skyscraper map to death, you know, and then they bring out a new... A couple of new maps. It's like, fuck yeah. And you'd be like, you'd be like, ah, I'm back on the old maps again. Or maybe the next one will be the new one, you know? So you're getting... If you're going back and playing Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, now, you're never going to get anything new from that game. It's never going to show you, oh, here's a new map, or here's a new location, here's new biome, here's new anything. It's just the same map, which doesn't make it a worse game, but I'm kind of done with it, you know? There's only so many times I can play something like Broken Sword, you know, once a year. Because it's the same story. I'm not seeing anything different from it. And the same thing sort of thing with Battlefield 3. And also, the other side of that is, there are people like you who have been playing Battlefield 3 since fucking launch. And if I turn up in that server, I don't last more than about 30 seconds. So there is an element of that to it. But if you like it, who cares? I jumped in recently. I like it when I was able to help my own me. I don't like it if I'm getting fucking spawncams and rapes to start there for 30 seconds. Bang, bang, next, next, next, next. It's not as fun. I jumped into Quake. You've even been playing that shit for 25 minutes. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Got my ass kicked, but... But look at this, when we jumped into Battlefield 4. And that's a fairly recent game, you know? It takes me so long to get up to speed. You know, my deck count was horrendous, you know? It's, so there is an element to that. So I, it's the same as when, you know me, when I, when we play any MMOs on something like that, or any kind of adventure, it's always about, I want to see what's over the horizon. I want to see what's around the next corner. It's like, I want to explore. I want the adventure of finding something new. And if you're always playing, I remember playing some of the, like, Call of Duty maps from the first iteration of Call of Duty, right? And I can probably still map that out in my head. Exactly what, you know, what was going on in those maps and things like, I don't necessarily want to play them again, because I literally played them for days. So I want that, I want that new thing. Going back and playing Call of Duty 4. I mean, great as a, as a kind of nostalgia hit, but I ain't going to be playing it for, for kicks, because it's like, whoa, whoa, what, you know? That's what we did for that's what I'm saying. My attention, my attention span is so fucking short. Normally, I ask anybody. Oh, I've just bought this. Boom, done, week on board. Remember when I said this one? I've always said this to you, I want that one game that's going to keep me hooked for fucking ever, and I've never found it. And I've tried all sorts. And I also think it's part to do with what me and Clark, you've said before, which is like, I saw this article in IGN where it said, has this, has this era of gaming peaked? And I'm like, peep with fucking what? Like, this is peaking. Back in the day, I mean, Clark used to say, like, they really used to push these consoles to the absolutely. What were the things? Well, they're facing that on amazing games, huh? What do they mean, what do they mean? The consoles, do they mean these peaks in sales? They mean it's peaked in graphical ability. Do they mean it's? Just as the generation, like, are we kind of like, is everything now going to be worse? This console generated into a new one comes out? Like, have we seen the best of the game? No, no, no, no, absolutely not, because you can't say it's peaked when you've got GTSC coming out next year, all right? You can't say it's peaked with the next, no, you've got dog games now, yeah, all right? So, peaked in what? Do they mean, I think what they're talking about there, and I wouldn't know that reading, obviously, is that it's peaked in terms of sales, because everyone who wants a PS5 has got one, right? It's always going to go downhill. Your growth is going to slow, because everyone's already got one, right? No one's buying an Xbox anymore, because, like we said before, what's the problem again? Yeah, I guess what I'm trying to see once is, I've got a problem with, I've said this before, but now I've really, like, it's like the final nail in the coffin. I've said it before, age ago, where the video game industry is going, I don't want it, and drop me out of it. Like, and you mentioned GT6 there. Fantastic, I'm going to play that, but we've also mentioned before how ridiculous it is, how expensive games are being, how expensive games are and how long they've been to be made. And the weight from GT5, from PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 5, when you've got three GTA's on PlayStation 2. Yeah, but yeah, you should play PlayStation 1. It's, I don't want it. I don't want it. I don't want this to happen. Every 60 years, it is an anomaly, because I guarantee you this. If that game had stopped making money, three years ago, we'd have had a new GTA 6 like that. You know what I mean? Well, this is where the game industry is, because it's all about, you get half the game on launch day, and they back it up destiny style, we're game pass up, we've seasoned passes, we're fucking micro translate. On some of them, you do. I don't want it. But on some of them, you do. But like, for example, the latest Star Wars games, survivor and all that, there is no, they're just single player. Then, you know, there's a big, there's a big turn towards going back to single player games again. Yeah, and guess what? You put in the disc, and it doesn't 90 gig download. I don't want it. So, I don't want it. I don't want this future. This future isn't for me. I don't want it. That's fine, but I don't, you know, whether or not you download the thing onto console, whether it comes with a disc or not, it doesn't make a fucking bit of difference to me, mate. Really doesn't. What's on my machine? It's on my machine. I do, man. All I'm just saying is, all this stuff that the future has bought, compared to your consoles, I don't agree with. I don't think, I think you're overlooking stuff, right? So, for example, I don't know. There's not as much originality out there anymore. Oh, I disagree. I disagree. You know, you look at some of the games that have been like, I don't know, break out indie hits on Steam, for example, and there's a lot of originality there. You're just not looking at, if you're looking at console sales and stuff like that, you know, you're just talking about mainstream PlayStation 5 Xbox games. Oh, all right. Well, you get what you want. I fully get your talk. Original next-gen games, triple-air titles, then. Loads of them. Go on, please. Which, you know, obviously, I haven't got the time to go into writing. And this was a particular moment in time. But there are loads of them. Okay. And game companies that have shut down, like, clarking those if we've discussed it so many times, it's like, they've shut down some of my favorites. So it's like, obviously, I'm not... But give me this. Give me this. I'm not the same question. I'm using the book in jazz music, and rocker rules come out. That's how I feel with this. But ask me the same question with, like, PS4, all right, an Xbox one. What was the original? That originality, as far as AAA isn't going to go original like that, because of the amount of money it costs to invest into those games, right? So they want something that's tried and tested, which is why you get. Last of us won, then they won't last of us two. They won't uncharted, then they won't uncharted two, uncharted three, uncharted four. Those games didn't change over their formula, not much, right? Over a six, was it a child? Six game run, pipe game run. They didn't change hardly at all. Right, they got graphically better. They got a bit smoother, but basically the game stays the same. But you could stay the same about strategy games. You could say, say, yeah, real-time strategy stuff. But the difference now, they take so much. Like, I've talked about, we've got to reset, guys. Like, how I, I don't wait to, I don't wait to, from, I've played a little bit of it. I've still got it. But I've heard generally really positive comments. Yes, really. I understand it's Remedy's best selling game. To this day, it hasn't, it hasn't made any profit. Yep. It hasn't made any profit. The top selling game. Yep. The top, the top rated game has not made any profit. Can we just get in the fucking boardroom as Remedy and go, guys, what the fuck are we doing? If we're spending 600 million to make this, and, and then we sell it, it's making 550, and we got close half the fucking people. So. No, no, no, I don't, I don't disagree with that. Can we fucking reset? Can we make a game? We can fucking sell in two years. But people do. People do. Why don't these carts then? That's the fucking poor business made. That's got nothing to do with the entire games industry. But you go look at stuff that's, no rest for the wicked. That's a great game that's on, on Steam that is, you know, okay, maybe it's early access, whatever. But that's, that's going to make profit. It already has man-a-laws already made profit on that sort of stuff. There's loads of games that go out. Tell me why Remedy doesn't turn around and go, you know what? We're not going to fucking do. Because I think Remedy have got decent back into the, they know that they'll be all right. But also because they've always been known as kind of an art house studio that is pushing the bounds of what the, you know, the console can do. So it's, you know, that's why it looks so fucking good. And they spend stupid amounts of money and time on that. For me, I get what you're saying. I'm saying what they're doing there. What they're doing there. But that's what that game is about. That's what that game is about. That game is basically a narrative story. They want to make it as much like cinema as possible. So it's important for them, for their vision, it's important for them. It looks as good as it does. I'm not saying that's a good idea because at the end of the day, if that leads to the downfall of Remedy, obviously not a good idea. No, but if that's the solution, then yeah, thought Chrono Trigger, which was all about story in a cinema experience with fucking shit pixel graphics, yeah? And Final Fantasy 6 o'clock, am I right? Fucking shit, shit. If Remedy needs to make it like that to make it work, then like I said, drop me the fuck out of this future. I'm going to buy that game. You don't have to buy that game. It's why part of it is why I prefer. This is what I'm saying. This is why I prefer to play him, you know. Some I prefer playing Final Fantasy 9. Or, ah, fucking hell, clarky DS, the Switch games, the thingy sword, big thing. The first word, it sounds like. Yeah, sounds like thingy thingy. Our Japanese are, but yeah, JRPG, thingy, can't remember the name of it. I prefer playing the other one. Trilogy. Very long. Stupid people in it anyway, don't worry about it. Uh, kids coming back reborn all the time. Cycle, cycle, cycle, cycle. Oh, Xenoblade. Xenoblade, right. Thank you. I prefer playing that than I did to the latest Final Fantasy game that I haven't finished yet because it just didn't. I prefer playing Xenoblade Chronicles in its simplicity and it wouldn't. It would still cost money and it still looked really fucking good. What Xenoblade is a Nintendo published game. And we've always said, clarky said this. They get it and they do things differently. They know, because they've got a mobile hardware, they know, like, we're going to fall out. And if games don't do well, they've still fought them out. How many fucking curbies have we seen on Switch? Oh, my son loves them mate, don't knock it. That's not a curbing. If that was a PlayStation game, they'll go, curbing is fucking fucked it when doing another one. Shotting is what some people liked it. They're going to fall out another 10. Like, the same with all these characters, Luigi's Mansion, Luigi's Games. No, I don't. He loves them as well. Any Nintendo first part. All these little characters are going to get one. He loved that as well, which is tragic. But those games don't cost as much, right? Is that all you're worried about? Is the fact that you think that's going to be so much money that they're going to-- Oh, is that risk? And the game doesn't do well. They go shot it. Gravity Wash was like a critically acclaimed, the such a fan base behind that game if you played it. If I can want to shot it, go Japan Studio, get a fuck out. Or you're complaining more about the business model than the game. You're just giving a movie for about that. I think they are. But Japan Studio is one of the most creative studios. Yeah, it wasn't selling all of it. Yeah, we were saying, but it sounds to me like, what you're complaining about is the reason you're out of it, you know, this is it, you're out, drop a mic, I'm done. It's because of the business model behind it, rather than the fact that those games are actually any good or not. Because there are a lot of those games, exactly what you're asking for. They were original, right? They tried to do something different. No, those were-- They didn't sell enough to cover their cars, so the studio got shudded. But that's what you wanted, wasn't it? Not for the studio, you go shudded. Do you want original games? I'm trying to, I'm trying to-- Well, let's talk about like the remedy thing. I think it makes more sense to put out free games in this era of consoles, instead of one, and then wait two games. Put out free games that looked twice as bad as an awake. Fuck the ray tracing, fuck the textures from wherever the fuck they bring them from. The biggest computer in the world. Yeah, but it looks so good. Fuck that. Bring it down a bit. And just fucking release that shit after shit, like good stories and good things. I don't know, I don't know. I don't know, I don't know. I don't know. I'm trying to, great example. We got free on PlayStation 3. We got one on PlayStation 4. I don't disagree with me. I'm not disagreeing with you at all. We've had this conversation, man. I'm sure I listened to what's happening with that. If you're going to get a trilogy now, you better wait four or five generations to get a trilogy now. Okay, yeah. Honestly, you're going to get to- I think that's changing. I think that is becoming brought to the fore now. That is what you're saying. I've heard from other outlets and other people, and that same conversation about why the fuck are we waiting six years between games when we used to pop them out once every two. What's the point of having all this tech? Literally. What's the point of having all these games that look photo-realistic? Yeah, it's like when you can drop this random apple, that's amazing. That's nothing to do with the fucking game. It was like, what was the time gap between sending you a sacrifice and sending you the other one? So sacrifice. No, not so. The send you was- Hellblade. Hellblade, right? And Hellblade 2, or for better word. That wasn't- How long was that game? Was that game six hours? Four, wasn't it? All right, so you spent six- you know, that's a year per hour or something like that. That's their vision, and they want to make it like that. That's kind of up to them. But I'm with you in that I would rather- they'd have made that slightly less realistic, slightly less graphically intensive, slightly whatever, and actually made that game 15 hours long. Stretch the story, put some more focus on the story elements of it, or the design of the game, rather than odd and it looked lovely. I'm just sad that we're not- we're talking about AAA as well, right? A Mass Effect trilogy, we're not going to get again on one console. That level of production, I mean. Right, Clarky? One, two, three Mass Effect, well, huge games, AAA games. Buy a Bioware, wasn't it? I can't remember that. Yeah. Why did they say that? How could we ever see that again, Clarky? I can't see like a Ubisoft coming out and going, you know what, play 36 is free big news. Ah, come on, Ubisoft will just pump out three assassins creeds in this place in three years. You'll be fine. Ubisoft is a bad example. Another developer, the Bioware. I do get what you're saying, and it is fucking frustrating, right? Because even something like, I don't know, you know, I'd like to see another in charge of whether that happens at all. Even, even, I'm not going to play the last of us. It just depresses me too much, right? Um, but those games used to get in uncharted. You get in uncharted two years later. And it's like, excellent, all right? Fire shot, one, two, three. Bang, same generation. Yeah, I totally get what you're saying. But it's, it's, that's not what's pissing me off about games. But for me, at the moment, it's just, there's nothing that is exciting me. For you, it's, there's nothing that's exciting you, and you're pissed off because it's taking so much. And then they release it and I'm like, well, what the fuck have you spent six years doing? Giving me this six hour game, this six hour pilot shit that no one does. It's lucky, really, that we've still got hockey's positivity, right? Because if we didn't have hockey's positivity, we'd be screwing it always. You know, the, the, the huge risks, they fought to sack half the people or get a bailout from Microsoft or whatever it is. Or, you know, this, not for much. Well, back to the day when they were cheaper to make and you could fart them out. Oh, sorry. Yeah, we fucked up. Well, we got another one coming out next year. You could redeem yourself as well. That you can't redeem yourself. If you've got, if you're triple eight, you do a, you release a bad game, close the shot. You're done, basically. Here's the sack and across the board. And that's why we keep on seeing sack in every year more and more and more. No, no, no, it's a, it's a tough, I still think it's just, it's a tough align to walk and you give it a chance for. Because, you know, people moan all the time that ecology comes out every year. Different story every year is still, you know, but then we don't want that. But then we do want that. But then we kind of don't want that. So what is it? Yeah, balance. Yeah, that, I mean, that's, we're taking one. Yeah, we don't want to fucking unchart it. Well, I like to win like Assassin's Creed, a bit like what they're doing at the moment. It's the kind of one to every couple of years. They bring one out and I can get a little bit excited about it. Yeah. Much less. Even at one point, that was getting ridiculous. Because it was like every year. I thought, honey, I'm serious. But it used to take me all fucking year to play that game. Because it was like 90 hours long. But yeah, I do get all your same ID. But, you know, it doesn't matter. For me, if you want to come on here and you want to talk about checking in. Well, you don't want to talk about it. You don't want to talk about it. You're a fucking shit. What are you talking about on your mate? I really don't. I'm going to let you talk about that. Stupid cranky game, to God's sake, you know? That's fine. You can talk about that if you want to. You leave that cranky game alone. Yeah. Did you see anything in the tender direct that you fancied? Speaking of Nintendo and then what they're doing. I bought the only thing I've fancied. Which was? That was those ports of those DS Castlevania games. The ports of the DS. Oh, yeah. Have you seen how they did the little map thing for the bottom screen? No. So they've squashed it. So about two thirds of the screens in your normal old TV ratio. Like it would have been back then. And the rest of the screen is like your map and your stats and everything. Oh, that's cool. So they've got a DS game on one screen. It's really good. The Castlevania Dominus collection. Is that that one? Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if you saw the advertised again, the Never game, which was the company that made Jim McCreece, G-R-I-S. God, yeah. I saw that and thought about Petalby all over this. Greece is good. I like Greece. Greece is good. We've talked about Never before, but that looks really good. I don't know if the game's going to be good, but that looks really good. It does look nice. Yes, they've got the... Is it Famicon Detective stuff as well? Yeah. Well, nobody's good for some people. No, it's good for some people. That's the sort of shit, you know, professionally in games, that sort of thing. They're kind of going back and having a look at it. It really was a real life. What shit have we got left? Right, just get them out there. I mean, that's what you took from it. Right? What I took from it was, a bit like what Petal was saying is they've realized that the big, you know, Xbox PlayStation are going big on this 300 million pounds to develop a video game that takes six years to do, and they've gone, well, actually, what people like on our consoles is these small games that we can knock out once every couple of years, whatever. Yeah, I agree. Try and kind of test it, but still we're going to mix it up a little bit. We're going to, you know, but we're going to go up with that. We're going to be revisiting these things that people used to love, which is fine by me. It's like a bit safe for Switch 2, right? So I saw a few things. I really like Clark here. I think that that Dragon Quest 3 HD 2B remake. You know, down well, I'm going to be first in queue for Broken Sword Shadow of the Templars when it comes out on September, right? That reforged thing they're doing where they're just, they're basically upgrading. You know, down well, I'm going to buy it. There was a new, they advertised a new Atelier game, Clarky. We like that series. I know it's a bit dated now, but I don't know. I don't know. Well, lots of, lots of tales of us are well-known artists. Yeah. The Marvel vs Cap Confying Collection Arcade Classics. That looks good. I know they keep on fighting these out all the time, but there's another collection there. They showed off the new Legends game, the Legend of Heroes, Trails in the Sky. I didn't understand if this was a remake of the PSP game or not. I assume it is. Wasn't that Trails in the Sky? I'm pretty sure it was. But this was all in 3D, it wasn't like Isometric anymore. But the Trails of the Sky, Legend of Heroes, I don't know if you know this one, but it's considered one of the best JRPGs of all time. Like, the Legend games are huge. I mean, I had that. Yeah, they had it. Yeah, they showed it. They said, well, they just said release date in 2025. The only one I saw that was, I was really excited about, but it was tweaked. My interest was, Clarky will know them. Do you have a blasphemous? They're bringing out like a stealth tactics game. I think it's called like the Stone of Madness or something. And that looks quite nice. See, I think, you know, you can mock Nintendo for kind of like, oh, they're really scraping a barrel, but they're still bringing games that I want to play. There's, there are more games in the fucking direct, probably. But I want to play the all-of-only nightlife. And love this is non-exclusive, though. Why is he like a lot of the stuff I read out? He's kind of like. I mean, like I said, at the moment, I'm very much following almost Clarky's footsteps here of kind of like saying, you know what, if I stick to PC, I'm going to pretty much get everything and switch. I mean, the switch, I don't even have a switch anymore. I sold my OLED. There's no way I'm pricing the switch out on my son's hands. The plucky supply looks really good. Yeah, that's, that's really good previews as well. I've been reading a lot about that. That's literally right. There are some exciting stuff in the works. It's just not necessarily what we used to get excited about two or three years ago. That's it. So, that's how much else is here before you find me. It's just winding down of it, isn't it? I thought these were good, Clarky. I thought these, these, they're not like one there. There weren't, there were nothing groundbreaking. No, no, no, no, no. I'm not going to shit my pants for, for, you know, the remake of fucking Dragon Quest, but it's still, it's still a nice game. It's a Dragon Quest, another one. It's a Dragon Quest 12. No, it's free. Dragon Quest 3, wasn't it? Yeah. It's one of the older ones. One of the older ones. Yeah, Dragon Quest 3. Hate what they've done like the TV. What deal? Well, I tried playing the old ones. I didn't like them. No, they turned it into, what's that game they did that style now? The two, Clarky, the 2D isometric. I'm what the game was now. 2D, yeah. Octopath? Maybe default, TDS. No, they've made it look like Octopath, Tribal, or whatever it was like. Right. Okay. It's that sort of thing now. Yeah, I'll go back and play with Hotel Dusk on the DS or something. Well, he said GC5 came out in 2013. It's only 11 years ago. It's a lifetime ago. That's literally older than my son. Yeah, September. He says 17th September, 2013. You raised a child in between GTA games. Yeah, I haven't done it very well, but yeah. Crazy. Anyway, I think we should probably move on. I'll call it a night. Next time we're on, we will have found something to be joyous about. Even if it means Pet goes back and plugs in the fucking... Something like the fucking NES or something and gets done. He will find something to be joyous about. I promise you that. Clarky will have probably finished Wu-Tang, Clang, whatever that's called. Wu-Tang, Clang, Clang, things are wrong. Big news again. I will play a game. It was good. Do you want the controller, Clarky? They really didn't work. Oh, yeah. Wu-Tang, Clang, Clang, Clang. I will promise to play a game of something at some point. Probably maybe. Let's go with that. Until next time, thank you guys ever so much for listening and watching. I see so many of you on stream tonight. And we will see you again next time. Bye-bye. Thanks, everyone. Like the botan. Well done, which botan is it? Oh, hang on. [Music] [BLANK_AUDIO]
