Listen back to Paul Cooney, Barry Ferguson and Peter Grant as they talk all things Scottish football.

This is the Goradio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Call 08, 08 at 17, 17, 700. Well, the SPFL is back tonight, as we know in the championship, and then tomorrow and Sunday in the top table. Peter Grant is with us, Barry Ferguson, too. Barry's sporting, and you're here, cut. Looking pretty good, Peter, what do you reckon? What's your assessment of Barry's new, I think he's working his age now? Oh, so what if I can say, it's good on the socials. You're only jealous because you look junk. Exactly, but you try to see a poll, like, no, no, actually, you're great on sports. Right, you can tell the guys, Barry, the weekend, the best of footballs back, it's brilliant. Yeah, looking forward to some tasty games, looking at Saturday's fixtures, and also Rangers going up to Canada. And then United started the season really well, and Rangers desperately need the three points. So looking forward to the weekend fixtures. So to get home to, of course, hearts tomorrow, three o'clock, that's a rarity, and their captain is the player of the month for the first time. I think so, I have first rather than that. I think that might be the story of the month that I think if you just go goals in general, let's say boys that will take the headlines. But the lesson we've started great, and where all these things seem, you never get there with your team mates. So, thank you to them as well, and probably in awards for everyone because they've been so good. Peter, starting at the top against joint bottom, hearts unusual for them. Callum, it's hard to believe he's never won it. It's hard to believe, Paul, but not surprising. People can't speak about it yourself. You're a goalscorer, somebody goes on around you getting maybe two or three goals, predominantly they get it. I mean, it's performance, so I don't think you need that, and Barry will tell you, don't need to be told to anybody else that you're the best player or whatever. But he's been outstanding, I've been managed to see all the games this season, and he's been outstanding. And I think the freshness you'll get from not being involved in internationals, I think he'll just get better because of the fresh areas. As Sir Johnson, as he fits, the manager Brendan Rogers has been speaking today. What's the latest on the Canadian throwback? Yes, yeah. Ali, obviously, with Jesse, they were sensible in terms of how he felt in the game and took him off and sent him back, and yeah, it was just a precaution, really. He felt a little bit, but he had a similar gun into the Rangers game as well, so we were able to protect him, and he's obviously travelled, gone away, felt a little bit of tightness in the game, so they managed him really well. So we've brought him back, and he's trained well. Sir, he finds what you're thinking. It's a huge game tomorrow, and it's been agey since it's been three o'clock in a Saturday. Yes, as I say, Paul, this brings it back to all the memories. This is when we loved football, that's what it was made for. We always felt sad at the year o'clock, and as I say, just television dictates everything now, unfortunately. So we've got to look at it and say, "I'm really looking forward to it," because I really enjoyed the, even as a supporter, that was what it was all about. Match day, three o'clock, tomorrow night, the morning that you're self getting organised, then travelling it to see the games, and I'm sure they'll be good at exciting, and he's seen this team who have been started this season ever so well, a little bit interesting to see because they've had the break, you know, if they just keep firing on us all, and that's what they have done prior to the break. Celtic, as we know, could go eight points clear of Rangers Rangers playing on Sunday at 12. Barry, we're here for the first time from the Albanian International by Jeremy. He's back, and he says he's ready to go on Sunday. Yeah, I'm ready, but it's up to the coach, so I feel good. I just played two games, start with Albanian National team, and yeah, I'm ready. Saint's positive, the manager himself said, "Look, he's just back. He didn't say he wasn't playing. He was cautious." He was the first time today that he trained with the team, so he signed the day after he was at the game, and then he left for National team. So it was for him his first minutes with the squad today. It doesn't help, of course, if you don't know even the names of your teammates when you need to start the game. So he's just in the building, but we will see. It depends on circumstances also, so I will make the decision after the tournament tomorrow. Barry, what do you reckon? Is he going to start? Well, I would start on Paul. As Jeremy's just mentioned there, he played two games, 77 minutes, 81 minutes. He's clearly up to speed. I've spent a lot of money on him, that I play, that they think can make additions to the team. So, yeah, for me, he gets straight into the start at 11. What's his best position? He was asked today. I think I'm a player who likes to play forward, a player who likes to do assists, to help the team, to score also. I can play also on the left wing, but my favourite position on the 10 and the strikers, but it's up to the court, so I will do my best. Barry, the fans need a boost. What a boost. I saw your call this morning in the record. You're talking about James Tavernier. Come to that in the moment, but Rangers have to win on Sunday. Yeah, it's a must. Paul, I firmly believe so. It'll take you three points again, starts. And you don't want to be coming back down the road. Eight points or seven points behind, even if you go up there and draw. It has to be three points, Paul. You can't go any further behind. You spoke about James Tavernier this morning in your column. It looks as though he's staying, doesn't it? I don't think he's going anywhere. Yeah, and I have no issues with that. Paul, I just, it was more touching on what happened after the old firm game. Listen, I've touched on it before. I just thought it was across the line. So, I think we all take criticism. I've had it before. You can handle that from the stands, but that watching the footage, it just didn't sit right with me, Paul. And I'm just giving my honest opinion and it's hard on them. There's a lot of pressures when you put that on band on, but one thing I will say about James Tavernier, he's never hidden. He's always made himself available, even when he's not played well or maybe come in for a bit of criticism. But one thing, as I said, he's always stepped on the pitch and tried his best. Philip, come on. Spoke today about the scenes outside out Brooks. When the team went back after losing itself, it's already a long time ago. So, it's never a nice moment to lose against your rivals and for sure, not with the 3-0. So, I understand the frustration. We had the same frustration and the anger inside of us. So, in a way, you understand things in another way. It depends what words are used in that way. So, that happened that moment in the heat of the night or the afternoon. I've been now 10, 12 days longer in Glasgow after also. And I met a lot of fans who reacted in a totally different way and were very positive and supporting the team and the club. So, it's in the heat of the moment. It's not things that you like and that you love, but it happened. You don't want to see that. And it was isolated. Yeah, the biggest problem is, Paul, thank God, me and me and Fonin's, that was, you know, you're seeing it on cameras. I just wonder what these people think when they're videoing it. You know, I read this from even somebody who's getting abused like that. They've done it in the street, tell anybody else, and were filming it like me. See it's so much now on social media now, it's ridiculous. You know, but footballers, and there's not one footballer. I don't care who he plays for, what colour of jersey he wears, they go and try their damnedest. They go and give it their best shot to try and do their best for their club. I told you, he's suffering because he's not that good at players around the bottom. And Barry will tell you, any player needs good players with you, a settled team to play your best. But it's absolutely a doubt that you may be of a strength or others. You can bounce off and vice versa. And to get abused like that, and I found it strange that if it backed out of your brooks and they were all coming out together, you're thinking, it's unfair. It's unfair to the players. They said, just say, let's settle it down here. Let's move away from here and don't go and face that, because it's not nice for the supporters, because I'm sure they're just fans looking at it now, they're thinking, something about should be embarrassed. If they're doing social media, instead of you think they're kings and all that, they should be embarrassed with ourselves, but it's something very annoying. Barry, you spoke about it when there were poor games or whatever. It went the wrong way, you were seething about it, you'd think about it at good home all weekend, but you'd come back and fight again. And it looks as though that's what the current captain is going to do. Yeah, it does look like that port looks if he's going to be staying. And me for one, I'll get right behind them. And I'm sure the range of fans as well. But what the demand is in Sunday is making sure they get a good result. That's first and foremost, hopefully a good performance, but three points as the main thing for Rangers in Sunday when they come back home from Canada. Here's the manager speaking about the Tavernier Transfer speculation. You know, it's in the back pages today as well, but saying that he's staying home, he's not going. I don't know what is real about all these rumors. So there were no offers in the club in that way. So he's been, for sure, the player in Scotland. And for me, in all my career, who made so many transfers already without anything happened, that's for sure. In eight months, I never seen a player making so many transfers because I read so many times that he was going to go there and there and there, and he's still here and never came to my office. I want to go. And there was never an offer in that way towards the club. So let's not talk about too much about rumors. Time to move on a bit, Barry, isn't it now? You know, the game's nearly two weeks ago. Yeah, but we did. Warshay rumors two or three months ago when everybody was talking about it. Listen, he's not going anywhere, there's been no offers. And then I think it would have went quiet, nobody would have spoke about it. But I never get mentioned and it's been in the press, Paul now for well over a year. But it looks like he's staying now. I have no issues with it at all. And we just hope, hopefully, he leads the team out on Sunday and he leads them to three points. That's the main concern for Rangers as they get to three points. The biggest thing for a buzz is well, but it's sure a loyalty. And people can say whatever they want. I'm sure there are people interested in James Tarvin here. You know, there's no doubt that over the last couple of years. You know, we can all say, I'm a critic at times because of the way he defends his back post. There is no getting away from that. You know, but he goes out there and Barry spoke about it. He goes out there and he pulls the iron band, the jersey on and gives him maximum. And that's all you can do. You need help, as I said. But he's shown a loyalty as well, because it'd be easy for them to be doing tools in the summer. And I'm sure a few of them have just shot the crew anyway and could have another opportunity. He was wanting to stay and fight. And that's what he's done. And they should get a tap in the back for that as well. And well done for the Rangers supporters and stay to the crowd so some of these games. Rangers fans, what you're thinking ahead of the game at Tanadais. Some people are sending as though they were going to the new camp or something. And I'm not getting it done to United far from it. They've done really well. They're in seven points. In fact, eight points, Rangers won behind them. But it's a game, Barry, that Rangers would expect to go and give everything and to win. Yeah, you'd be calling, thinking up there. No disrespect to done United. But if you look at both squads, say, Rangers is the strongest squad. Yep, they've had some good results, especially just before then. And I shall break going to 10 cast and winning one. Nothing. Jim Goodwin said a good start. But look, I expect Rangers to get at the three points. Celtic against Hartz at three. You know the other games as well. Great game. And Paisley St. Marin against Comeannock. Ross County against Andean Dingwall. Hibbs against St. Johnson. And Aberdeen against Mullivall. News from Hartz. Cammy Devlin has signed a new long-term contract today. So he's extended his stay there. What about Celtic? Here's the manager speaking well. He's about his player of the month. Callum McGregor. Just shows you because the boys are made at some level. I think what I love about Callum is it's also what this club brings you. So being at Celtic, and this is what I'm excited about for these other players. Because Celtic's a culture of winning. And to be a winner, there's a process. And that process is training. And when you're in the program for long enough, what you'll be is you'll be a player that'll be super fit, intense and consistent. And that's Callum McGregor. That all comes from being a Celtic player. Because you need the intensity to be here. You need the focus. You get that fitness. And that is like the other Celtic boys here. You know, the likes of Tony Ralston, Stephen Welsh. The other boys have been here, James Forrest. That's what they bring. And Callum, as the captain, really typifies what being a Celtic player is. You know, performing, consistent. And it does actually surprise me that the level I've known that he's been at when I was up here the first time and obviously here so. Peter, what could you have done for you with your talent? You had some great managers there as well. He's really passionate about it there about the development of the players. No, but it's not only him. You've got to remember. Since they don't, when you pull a Celtic jersey in, all the years back when I was here and I'm sure it was longer for me. As I say to you, me seeing the Jimmy Johnson's and the Bobby Lennoxes, his coach, his big Billy and David Habing, my manager. You didn't know every day you've got to get in and leave everything in there. Because if you don't, you're soon about the door. I think that's the point Brendan's trying to make there. It doesn't matter whether you're the best player. You know, or the one that's given the maximum effort and commitment. That's a minimum that's required off you. But you have to set the standards because that's the rules for the day and early. You pull it on. But without anybody telling you, Paul, you know when you pull a Celtic jersey and you have to win, you have to be involved in trophies. Because when you don't, you soon know about it. And I'm sure Barry was the exact same at Rangers. And the years prior to yours was the exact same. That's why these clubs are so successful in winning. So the trophies, after trophies, after trophies, the demands that's put on you. And that's why we say, but players, you don't know about them. To the privileges that can they live with that expectation every single day. Not every week, every single day. Wonder who you'll see tomorrow, Peter, who's going to come in. The squad is a full squad, obviously, after the exits during the transfer window. Mainly, Matt, or really. But the people who've come in and most Celtic fans are happy with the transfer window. How's the squad developing? I know he's not had them for that long because of the international break. Barry, listen, it's sort of done all my life. I enjoy that aspect of it. The coaching and development. We get brilliant staff here on the coaching field also, who'll help these guys improve off the field. They're coming into a great family here at Celtic. And I know speaking to the guys and Alexa Casper, and that he's been around a long time. You know, how excited he is from being here. And what he's felt since he's come. And I know the younger players are going to feel that as well. So, yeah, it's a really exciting period. But still so early in the season. And we just keep our focus on improving. All right, Celtic fans, give us a call. Oh, wait, 17, 17, 700. Pits your wits against Peter Grant and Barry Ferguson. Wish you a line up for the game tomorrow, Celtic against Hartz. Over at Rangers, so it's good to have everyone back, isn't it? To get the manager speaking. Philip Klamong, look, it's been a tough almost two weeks for him. So he faced some of the fans the other night at the Edmondson. And he spoke about his message to the supporters. Yeah, I don't know how many times I need to repeat that message, because I don't want that you guys get bored. But we spoke about end of a cycle last year. 16 players left the club. So, during the average age of the players who left is around 28. We brought 11 new players in. Average age is around 23. So that's already a big difference. But you need time also to work with the boys. It's not, football is not putting 11 players on the pitch, giving them a ball and just do something. So you need to work on a lot of things. You need to get connections on the field, over the field, but also in the way of playing football. The timings, when to run, how to run, where to run, how to play a ball, where to play a ball. So there's a lot of things to be done and that needs time. So we're working hard on that with all group. I see a very energetic, young group with a lot of young players, with a lot of hunger, with a lot of potential also. And I'm very positive about the story with them and to work with them and to make them better and to grow as a team. So the team has shown good things in moments. And the team had also difficult things in moments the last couple of weeks. And it's now about turning it fast to a lot of positives and to make as many, as least as mistakes as possible. Barry, what do you take from it, head of the game? I understand new players need time, but also you've got to remember it's about winning games with football, Paul. That's what Rangers is about on winning. And we'll see how they react. I'm expecting a massive reaction tomorrow. Two weeks, I said in my column, it felt like two a month for the game. It would still be eating inside of me at this moment in time. And I'd be desperate when you suffer a defeat against your fiercest rivals. The best thing for me, I don't know of Granny agrees here. I needed a game as quickly as possible. I needed a quick turn on. Now, in that two weeks, that would have been tough. But now a couple of days away, if you're going up to Canada, the pitch will be like a bowling green, it'll be a fieldhouse, growing, perform, growing, show a reaction, growing and show how much that hurt a couple of weeks ago. That's what I'm expecting for the Rangers team. But Barry, I'll tell you, that's the expectation every single day. On the training pitch, you're expected to fight and scratch against your teammates to get on the side. Now you've got to go in one at Canada. You've got to go in one at Peturgie. You've got to go and try and win at Celtic Park. That's what you turn up for. I know Celtic, they go there and their focus is to win every single game. You know, so I've got to speak even from my time when we went at that quality, we were still expected to turn up in one. And we expected that just because the jersey told us that's what you had to do. And sometimes you've done a good enough. You know, but we left everything on that pitch, trying to make sure it was good enough. And we struggled at times, you know, really struggled. And it's hard. And that's why I'm saying the difference probably then, I'm looking at the Rangers group and I'm thinking, right, where is that? Gonna come for the young boy baring is about really well. And she was a commitment and wants the ball all the time. But then I'm saying, it's different now. The managers talking about language and time, but football, this world wide pole, the game's still the same, the position's still the same. You don't need no other names. You know, you play your best players, because that's a demand. If he's fitting ready for Jami, if that's how I'm saying his name, if he's fitting ready and he's one of your better players, he better play him. Yeah, 100%. Do you think not just at Rangers, because of the international nature of it now, players from abroad won't feel the same way necessarily about Rangers or Celtic, as they did in Europe, because yours was almost exclusively local boys. Absolutely 100%, but that's why the Cal and McGregor's James Forest are not still important, because they don't need to be saying anything. How did they lead the trainer? Who's up the front? Who's working hard? See everything that's done, is it done proper? See, when the managers know they start the warm-up without the magic, we went to the pitch. That was all the things that we expected was. If we never started, if we were at 10 o'clock start, for instance, and we'd the managers, if we were waiting the name coming up, they'd have sent us down the road. We had to already start. We think, "Oh, it's 10 o'clock." Which made me shout to the manager, "It's time. It's like five to ten or eight. We better start jogging." We simple things like our poll. That was the demand that you and yours was expected. Don't wait in anybody telling you that's your job. Do it right. And it is completely different now, but it's great to have people there who can lead by that example. And Barry Rangers, do they have that? It's different. It's an international team. The people like James Tavern in Lane, New York City. Yeah, it's the same game, Paul. Yeah. There's different languages, but it's 11 men on the pitch. You know, formations inside out. It's all about standards. I could just talk for the teams that are played in. And when players came from a different country, and maybe they would come in, and sometimes training, they would maybe take it a bit easier, but it was up to us, too. No, the standards here, I had to play. I had to sort of train the way I played. And that's the way I believe training should be. You should be coming in after training. Absolute, shattered, sweating. And that's what I think successful teams are all about. And so it's up to when new players look, bizurami command, etc, etc. It's up to the current players there to say, listen, this is how we train and how we go about it. And do I think there's enough players like that at Rangers? No, I don't. I think they need more leaders. I'll be honest with you, watching Rangers. I think that is an issue. But guys like Jack Butlerland and the captain just now, James Tavern here, that is a few. But I think you need six, seven, eight players like that to let the people know what it's all about. This is the good ideal football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Let's go, let's go. It's the big two who are here, Barry Ferguson and Peter Grant, going into the weekend. Andy Walker, Greg Moore, were filling the blanks last night. Nah, they were grateful. That was tough. It was often a hell that it was a hit to beat him down. No, it was last night, last night. Yeah, some good stuff from the two of them. That was right. [LAUGHTER] I see Big John Harrison was saying who was on the other night, Tuesday night. He was saying the pellet Bernardo, he could be a £20 million player for Celtics. So Peter, I've been really impressed when Paul was impressed from last year because I thought it was definitely his only young man. He forgot his age. And I thought he came in and handled it really, really well. I think because he plays at that, he's that sort of language, is it? The word you use for his style. And he plays at that sort of one pace, but it always seems to just get there. He always seems to have that beat sharpness to get in that block. A nice mover of the ball, sees passes, sees pictures. And he's very highly thought in Portugal, obviously, when he's under 21 on the national bench, the captain as well. So, obviously, he's a good leader for them. But I thought he was excellent against Rangers. I really did. And I thought the week before he done really well. So, well, Ben Tress is here with the miser. I think that could maybe do only change actually, because I think they played a day later. And Engels was sent home because he was suspended. And I think maybe the manager maybe said, "Okay, I'll give Engels a chance on you." Not because of Bernardo's performances, just because, obviously, he's without extra rest. Good play, though, Barry, isn't he? Yeah, I mean, in terms of 20 mil, in time, hotel, but I think you can see them proving even from last season. And since he signed in a permanent deal, looking back to the game a couple of weeks ago, yeah, he was the standout player in the first half. He was really impressive. And look, if he keeps that sort of form up, I don't think you can leave him out at him. But look, in terms of transfer, he's listened. There's no doubt there's potential there. And as I said, he's got an all-round game. I like his passing. And do you know what? He'll put the boot on as well. He doesn't even get mixed, not up a wee bit. So, and he's got a goal in him. And technically good. So, they're certainly south out of, I've signed a player with potential who could possibly be worth three-four times what they signed him for. And he seems to play well against Rangers, Barry. So, you would hope that he goes soon. Kalim and Greg has been speaking about the new faces, including Ernie Ingalls. Yeah, it's always good to get everybody back in. And the energy gets refreshed again, from where everybody's been. But, like you said, we've had a couple that have come back a little bit earlier on the weekend. It's nice to see them up close and start to, you know, get to know them and understand the way they train and the way they behave and everything else. So, the guys have been first class since they come in. And, yeah, probably over the next six games, we'll see a lot more of them. But it still really does for them. So, we just continue to try and help them in any way they can. And then when they go on the pitch, I'm sure as always they'll give everything for the club and for the team. And, you know, they'll start to set a line and you'll see what they're all about at that point. The guys have come in, of first of all, brilliant atchards, a huge amount of quality as well on the training pitch. Some of the guys obviously got a taste that again trained us of what it's about, which was excellent. So, yeah, there's a lot to be excited about. And as long as we can keep moving, as a collective in the right direction, then hopefully it'll be a good season for us. - Peter, it's the serious side of the game now with the league tomorrow, which is number one. I would imagine then Champions League on Wednesday, which is, well, we see many of the players being bliddered over the next few weeks. - Probably through circumstances, Paul. I mean, I'm a wee bit different because it's early in the season. I know there's a few in international, but certainly I'm trying to think that none of the Scotland boys, obviously, are away. And I was trying to think, joints from away only played 25 minutes. There's are many more angles played apart. You know, so there's not a bit of a lot where big 90 minutes each had to be. - My end, yeah, but I didn't mean that. - Was that that part as well? So all these things, and it's still the start of the season, so you need to get game legs in these players and players won't play at this time. But I'll tell you, players won't play in the games, Paul. - How do you do that? Sorry, how do you do that? - I know, it's really difficult. I don't know because I'd have hated that, you know, you think you've done really well, but the mind has left you out. And because there's so many subs now, and I spoke about it last week, when you talk about playing, I've played 60 games, 65 games about talking about it, and I'm thinking, well, put the minutes in it. - Yeah, and it's different. And it's slightly different that way. And I know I understand that, I can understand the front guys. I've always get changed. That sharpness up there, I understand, 100%. But boys will always tell you, and I'm sure Barry was the same. You won't play all the minutes. You won't play that 90 minutes. So that's what you're comparing to Vegas. And that's what I think Celtic have got there, Jenny. At this moment in, because they'll be really competitive on the training ground, these guys trying to impress and show everybody how good they are. And the other guys that's already there, trying to show everybody else how good they are, so they can stay in the stage. I'm not here to replace me. If you want to replace them, you can replace them over there, not me. And that's the fight you've got to have. And sometimes that's what makes you the better side. And that's probably the thing I'm saying, a bit range is earlier on. If I didn't explain it well enough, that's what I'm saying. I think Celtic have got two teams. You know, it can fail like that. Greg Taylor, let's find out how he is. There was a, was there a knock the other week? He withdrew from the Scotland squad. And what about a contract for him? Here's what the manager said today. Oh, update. I really hope that we can get something organized on that. He's a fantastic player for us. Um, how he makes that position work, how we want it to, to look at his first class. So he knows we really want him to stay and hopefully between his representatives in the club, we can, we can organize that. Because he is a, he is a player that I really rate. I've seen him grow here from the outside, looking in and obviously having the chance to work with him now for over a season. I really like everything about Greg. I love his personality. I love his spirit. I love how he plays the game. Of course he, you know, he plays the game like a mid-fee player coming from that outside position in. So he really makes it difficult for the opposition. Technically strong. For what would say be smaller and statuaries, he competes in his jewels, he wins headers. So he does a lot of really, really good things in the game, which I, which I really like and really appreciate. So, so I really hope that we can tie him down. He would be, in this period now, would be a real priority for us to try and get something short of him. Barry, Greg Taylor, the kind of home-growing player, sometimes underrated, but he's been massive for Celtic. Yeah, our bonus when Celtic signed him, I wasn't sure if he was going to be a Celtic player. Look, he was really good at command. Not Celtic signed him for too many, but I tell you one thing. His level, like, consistency, since he's come into the club, has been sky high and that, that's all you can ask for. He had his manager, speaking gloane, lay about him. And it looks to me if they're far down the line, he'd get them signed up in a new deal, as I said. But he's certainly impressed me. I think he's got better wages as well. He's matured. And yeah, a really good left feel, but Peter. I agree, as I say, I'm a big supporter of him. I think he's been outstanding. I think Brendan touched on something there. I was quite fortunate enough to work with Scott Gemmell, the 21s, and we've been away too long tournament, and Greg scored the winner against Brazil. We beat Brazil 1-9, and he scored the goal. See that again? Yeah, we beat Brazil 1-9, would you believe it or not? But the thing I liked about him more than anything else was his personality. It was infectious. What's he like? No, it was infectious. Yeah. You're not just like the banter around the boot, and you've got to have that in a dressing room, because there's a lot of seriousness going on. Your body will tell you round about a dressing room, but certain guys are noisy, that some other guys are quiet. You know, other guys like a laugh and a joke. So you need all these different types of personalities. I can only imagine now with a big mixture, what it's like, and it's hard enough, obviously, when you don't have the Scottish and English, just really in your dressing room. But he's got a really good personality, but let's not take that away from his talent, because he's done it exceptionally. Well, I'm not Brendan touched on it. I'm not sure if Greg started as a left winger. I'm not 100 percent sure. I think there's a midfielder that I understand too much. I'm sure it was. And I think he went to the left winger as well, and he moved back to left back and played in there. But you can see me, he's in midfield, how you can handle a ball. And it's not easy. If you're just a full back in India, I'm trying to embody, I'll tell you, receive the ball off the back guys. We had backed it. It's completely different. He does it really well. He does it with that awareness of what's ruined about him. And I think he's been excellent so far this season. Not just in the recent season, but I think he's been excellent so far this season. He's had a lot of food wrong. Celtic haven't considered a goal in the league, and the manager praised the defensive capabilities of his side. That's the dirty bit that doesn't maybe notice so much from the stands. I think that. But for a coaching perspective and a players perspective, it's everything. For me, the defensive philosophy coincides with the attacking philosophy. You need to be good in that defensive side and your structure. And that being defensively good gives you that opportunity to attack more. And I think that's what we're seeing over the course of this season. That aggression, that winning the jewels, winning the second balls, the third balls, all of that dirty stuff is what allows you to attack more. Again, neglect that side. You don't attack the same. Why? Because you won't spend the same amount of time on the ball because you're defending more. So the better than you're kind of pressing, you better than your defending, the tighter you are, the more aggressive you are, the more synchronized you are. Gives you more opportunities to score goals. And that side of it, I'm so happy with it. Listen, I agree with him. I've said it constantly. I've said it in here week after week. I think that's been the biggest part of that game. He's talking about Nadwell. I don't know. I think Barry will see the Rangers game there. When the ball was lost, all of a sudden, Rangers were looking to play forward. He'd nicked it back. And I think that was the biggest difference that I've watched at the St. Maren was a horrible day win-blowing rain, everything like that, and silt it with excellent against the ball. And I think that was the biggest thing, because one thing was St. Maren, they can ask you a question if you're putting the ball in, whether they're powerful running or they're strikers and run channels well. But they never get putting the ball forward. And I think that's been a massive part of their game because it keeps them on their tag and doesn't allow their position. I think Kasper Schmekel, correct me if I'm wrong, apart from the preseason families, I think he's there, but one safe to make. You know what I mean? And that tells you enough about how they're pressing the ball when you lose it. In breaking news, I believe Kyle goes get a new hairstyle. That's what they're telling us. Barry, was he at the hairdressers, the barbers when you were in? No, man, I'll tell you what I mean. It's certainly a burden, as for sure. And I'm saying nothing. I'm not everybody. I love to see nice free-floor and attractive football, but do you know what makes me more excited? Teams should do the dirty side that Brendan and Roger are speaking about. I love people putting their neck on their line, chasing back, harassing players to get the ball back. I love seeing that. And seeing when you have that in the team, I think you're halfway being there to be a successful team. There's no doubt about it. And that's when you say you're bad. You need to go to the successful teams. That's what you've ever seen. Yeah, 100%. That's all you've ever seen. Everybody talks about town to do that. The hardest one, Tim Barry's probably about. Member A. C. Milan. Very easy and all that. Maldini and all that. David, the world class. Neither of every one of these players will world class. And neither of the hardest working team I have ever seen in my life. You know, in that set, the standard, I think, for everybody. That's why Anshalote and all these guys were so successful in their career. It was about the hard work they'd done. Forget the talent. They knew they didn't hit the talent, but they worked harder than anybody. And I think if you've got that in your group, no matter what level you're playing it, you've always got an opportunity. I mean, it's crazy when you speak to supporters and they say, "Oh, that team you played in the late '90s, early 2000s." What a football team I say. I, we were what a football team, but I tell you what. Grafters, they work. That they put in a training ground and games when you would go to places and it would be granted, just mention that cold, windy pitch was bobbly. I knew what was wrong about me, but they were prepared to roll the sleeves up and do the dirty side of the game. And if you've got that in you or in the team and in the squad, you're going to be successful and nice. You've got to win that battle first, I mean. It's a living against the winner. Yeah, Paul, people talk about coaching. Managers used to say, "Yeah, and maybe take 80 minutes to build these down." And they could win five now, at the end of the day. And it was right. You had to find scratch because nobody... Listen, cell-take rangers take their two out of it. Every other one of them, it's their cup final playing. And that's never changed. When cell-take rangers roll on your turn, everybody wants to turn them over. It's a massive result. Everybody dines out. People dine out in it for years and years ago. Still, you know what I mean? See, you know that. So that's the expectation you have to get in there and make sure it's not you. You know, because people tell you about games years and years ago when you lost to this one. And I'm like, "Okay, I remember that." And you don't like it. And you never liked it because that's the expectation we're talking about that you have to turn up home and away to win. You know, you've got to fight, you've got to scratch. Teams are not going to make it easy for you. But you've got to say, "Well, we've got to fight, we've got to scratch and hopefully our quality will take it in the end." And that's so important when you pull on the edge of it and you do that. Oh, wait. Oh, wait. 17, 17, 700. Barry Ferguson, Peter Grant. This is the good ideal football show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go! Go home! We are looking forward to the weekend, which actually kicked off at four, as you know, with Gina and some great music. Continues with Peter Grant's Poconee and Barry Ferguson. And then the football starts tonight. 745, Dunfirmalyn, against Rayethrovers. Bit of a derby there, Barry, isn't it? That's a bad game. Yep. I think it'll be a decent crowd inside East End Park. No doubt about it. Looking forward to Dunfirmalyn, who had the great start through the season. Neither have Rayethrovers. I've suffered a few defeats, but they've got a new manager in place. And yeah, that'll be a, that'll be a tasty encounter tonight. Because you're all from the past. I can't believe you're saying a bit of a derby. That's a derby, I know, exactly. You can do it today, support us, y'all. 5 or so, give me one. Absolutely. No, no, it'll be a proper game, that. You know, in our fight for this tune, though. Called Richard, who sometimes does. Richard Parton's in it, times. Exactly. A great Rayethrovers fan, so you're absolutely right. Richard, I hope you're listening. Yep, he works in it. Yeah. No, but, it's not a proper game. That's the demand. It's on the pole. Orm gives out the window in that one as well. You have to go there and give it your own for your supporters. And I'm sure both sets of players will do that. No calls and some times now. Ah, yeah. Just thinking back, see, when the fan would play my LinkedIn, I used to love going to East End Pop. What is it like about it? It's a bit... Yeah, it's a decent stadium. But you were the manager there. Yeah, yeah. Pitch used to be brilliant. Supernap played, even. But it was a great stadium, he played. You know, under the floodlights we played there as well. You know, and it was magic, you know, because it's right on the road, as you know. But the pitch was always first class. And I thoroughly enjoyed it there, it just didn't work out. But, no, that was a thoroughly enjoyed club. I preferred the dress rooms. Remember, you used to walk down the stairs. That's right. I like the street. Yeah. Right, right at the double. Yeah. And the main stand, but they've got the new dress rooms and the stand behind the goal. Then enjoy that as much. You couldn't have used them because we'd let me call it. We wouldn't have had to. We would have been a good resource. But listen, it was a good day. I always enjoy going there. I was always a good atmosphere as well. A big lens for that, the way the stadium's built. You know, I know the corners are open, but not massively. You know, so there's always a great atmosphere. Give the big manager's office and all that. That was at the front end. Well, you can now spend all your day training all over. And everything because of COVID and all this. That was crazy, wasn't it? Yeah, it was. We'll look back and see what happened. Now, there's mud. I remember being there one time STV live on a Sunday. And it was Celtic going for the title against them firmly. And then there was a late, late goal against them. Celtic had to trip on the bus and go back to Glasgow. And then it was a day or two later. Yeah, because we're ready to do the stuff at the end. It's a good day. It's a good day. It's a good day. It's a good day. It's a good day. You know what? I know. And it's going out remembering that it was early mid 90s. No, it doesn't need to ring a bell. You were there. You were playing? No. No, it was after your time. No, it was after your time. That wasn't happened. It was Henry Larsen. Yeah, so that would have been late. Late 90s. Yeah. Early 2000. Yeah. 2000. Are we going to see, eh? So other games tomorrow in the championship. There's Queen's Park against Martin. Really good game. Livvy against Hamilton. Here at the top against Partic Thistle. And Adrian against Focke. We know that John McLinn, manager of the month. Manager of the month in the premiership. Of course, Jimmy Thilling. What a start he's had, Barry. And he's got Motherful tomorrow. Yeah. And I think that one is going to continue, Paul. He's certainly commanding. He's got a real kick out the team. He's made a few signings. And look, they have our Dean fans as obviously. Loving him at this moment in time. And as I said, I'm pretty convinced that they'll, they'll get a three points against Mother. Given this, but proving a good signing. Yeah, I think he'll do a traffic follow. You know, I really do. I liked him as a striker in the Scottish game. At that particular time, obviously, Millwood didn't work out, hanging about a fall out with a new manager there. And but I think he's a very, very good signing for them. But that's interesting when he gets minded in the month. You know, and I'm no bit disrespectful. You're not one bit pleased, are you? Oh, that's what I mean. Paul, what does it constitute for money you spend or whatever? So you've got to say the reasons why. Because Celtic have been outstanding. Aberdeen must have been brilliant. Because Celtic at performance has been outstanding. And let's, I know they've got top quality players. And he's done a fantastic job since they command under respect to that game results. But that's why I'm saying players and managers don't really worry about these managers at the months and players at the months. At the end of the season, you want to be getting the trophies handed to you. And Mario will tell you that. You've been rather than receive one throughout the season. As long as you get the big one at the end of the season. So you're thinking a mother will win tomorrow at Petordry? No, but they started decently, haven't they? Yeah, but I still think Aberdeen, because of that confidence they've got, the manager seems to have that breeding that confidence in. And I think the experience, I can't say the boy's name, it plays a long range, shiny in the middle of the pitch. He's an experienced boy, he's brought in about 30 years of age. There's some, like very good balance. They have a very good balance that allows the team to attack, you know, with the players they have. But they give that because you always thought they struggled defensively. I really did. And I think they gave him that blow in front. That's helped him a lot. Lyndon Miller will be back with confidence, though Barry, after scoring in that 5-0 win. Yeah, and listen, we've spoke about my number of times, just a fantastic young footballer who I think is going to go to the very top. If he continues his progression, Paul, I think he can go on and become a top midfielder. So that's one player that certainly Aberdeen will donate a look out for. And yep, Jimmy telling certainly deserves a man. Barry, see you. There's no limit. See you there. You're just winding him up. It's Friday. Yeah, I know it's sandals and shit. I don't think Brendan Nodges is going to be right on this. That's what I'm saying, but that's why I'm saying players and managers don't really get carried away without Paul. They want to get out on their games. And that's why I'm not a great believer in it. I must admit, no matter. As long as you win manager of the year of that, oh no, he didn't, he didn't win it. He wasn't even on the running one of the three. So the bottom line is you want to win the big trophies. And if Jim has a lean comes through and wins league cup scotch, cups on leagues, then we can start saying he's a number one in the country. When you were at Rangers, Barry, if you were playing it done, do you need to, did you travel on the Saturday then if it was a Sunday game? Yeah, yeah, yeah, normally, we're staying different places. They come next to them maybe sometimes or somewhere around the coast. And the members in Andrews a couple of times as well. So certainly they'll be getting away the night before the game. No doubt about that. And you're listening to the Celtic score if you're in the bus going up. It's great to see you listen to the Celtic song you're not in the bus. It's a set. Everybody's different. But I always wanted to see how Celtic world getting on. Because if Celtic win or get beat, I'm still motivated the same way to go and make sure I get the three points, probably shouldn't it, man? You should be motivated for your own team to make sure you're going first and foremost, get the win, and secondly, hopefully put a good performance on. But I think I'm five o'clock inside of the, it's going to be eight points. I'm convinced that Celtic world beat hearts. So, Rangers need to make sure that they beat Dundee United. Here's the manager, Philip Kamal speaking today about the, speaking with the board after the way things have been going. And your contract just what a month ago? Yeah, that we talked about everything, about the stadium, about the Celtic game, about where we are as a team now. And the same support as the weeks before. The board knows it's the beginning of a totally new story. They know, they understand that there are so many new players and so many players left, and so many young players coming in who we need to grow in their potential. What has he mentioned the good news that came out during the week, the back at iBrox from next weekend? Well, I know there's a lot of frustration, and I think the stadium bits created a lot. There was a lot of negativity about that. So, I'm really happy with the news that we can go back to iBrox, and everybody can feel home again. It was a really big thing, and it's normal thing. It's like to be put out of your house without you can do anything about. That was the feeling the fans had, and it was a difficult one. So, now the most important thing is to go back to iBrox, and to focus on the results and the way of playing, and making the story better and better with the team. Very sometimes small things like that make a difference. It's quite a big thing. When you're not playing at your own ground. Yeah, and another bit of good news. The bottom of the courtland is going to be open as well for the supporters to come in, but look, it's no ideal, Paul, but I wouldn't use it as an excuse for a bad result. Ideally, you wouldn't be playing in front of your home support, at your home stadium, but I said before, the new a few months before, what was going to be happening. So, I just go up to my side. It would burn my head right, I know iBrox, I'm at iBrox, I'm at iBrox. It's no ideal, but you know what, it's still a bit of grass, I live in against 11. I need to make sure I go out there and perform, and get the three points, but good news, they're back, next Saturday against Andy, and then hopefully the following meet against Hibbs, the full courtland is going to be open. Let's get some of the team news, Danilo has been out for a couple of weeks, as we know, with the manager asked today, what's the latest? Yeah, Danny was a really unlucky one, so he did in a sprint, he slipped in a really bad way. So, we first thought it would be crucial ligament. To be honest, the feeling we had at that moment and the way he fell down, it was a typical injury or a typical slip to tear your crucial ligaments. Luckily it's not the case, it's his medial ligaments, and the doctor said also that he was really lucky, because of all the exercises he did before that he is now so strong that it compensated a lot, but he will be out for at least four weeks. And okay, I will then respond to your second message, why he's not in the European list? Because we know already that is out for this first game in Europe, but also with the history of before, I want to bring him back in a good way, so that's first with league games at that level. You cannot put him now directly after his injury in European games, he's not ready for that. So he was ready for some minutes like he did and he was growing in that way, and he was happy then to take his goal against Ros County and he was in a positive way, but he's not ready to play at European level in this moment. The plan with him is first half of the season to bring him back in the league games, in the cup games, and then we can see after January he will be at his normal level again, but he needs his time to grow in that way. Barry, another blow. Daniel, is it no luck? No, he's not, and it was good to see him obviously get that goal pull. Again, Ros County, and then you think, right, it's a few minutes in the legs, this is going to be a build up to hopefully get them back to obviously challenge the essence and then he suffered the injury. The good news is it's not a cruciate, if it's a cruciate, then he's out for the rest of the season. So that's one positive, but the only issue I've got, I look at a very, very light up top pull. If Desser's does suffer touch with a niggly injury or you maybe get sent off, who do you go with up top? Is it Bizrami or Ecomani? Yeah, but that's not the natural position, and as I always say Paul, at the very least I think you need three number nine, at the very least. That's what I'm exactly saying about the squads. You're looking at certain, you've got either, you've got me either, you've got Kyogo all come play through there and you don't bet your heart on that they're going to get opportunities or score goals as me either did when you play center fall at the start of the season, and it definitely has a problem for them. And Rangers have been built on because of the chances you would think to expect Rangers to create through the years. They've always sent them a coin, the joinsons, the haters, and my time, all these guys, you know, raw goal scorers, you know, you can die on your bed knowing that they would be on the back end, even though there's players playing against them. If we were one and one now, you were talking about D-listening results. It could be no null at Rangers, but whatever they were playing, I mean one, and then Rangers would score late on, and it'd be one of their mid score. And that's what you've got to hang your hat on as your strikers, you know. And when that is the difference, Paul, and I think that kicking back the hunt, Rangers not respecting, it's very, very difficult for Phillip to come on, and the respect to that. One, you don't expect the kneel of the injury, but they'll say it as well as he can't afford to bring other guys in. If other guys still stay there. Yeah, but do you think, I was thinking, obviously, the details come back from a series knee injury out for seven months. I'm thinking it was an area where I thought maybe even alone signing up until January. Maybe someday there's an experience that you're not expecting to play every single game, but he's there in the sidelines just in case, i.e. another injury or a suspension. Or a bit of loss of form, he can bring him in for a game or two, so I was surprised that he never maybe looked at that area, but listen, the manager obviously feels comfortable. We watch what's happening just hopefully this continues to be available for the forthcoming games. News is up next, then we're back with Peter and Barry 08, 08, 17, 17, 700. This is the Gore Radio Football Show. Listen live weeknights from five on go. This is the Gore Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcasts. Call 08, 08, 17, 17, 700. Let's go, go, go, go. Oh, two, Paul Barry and Peter 08, 08, 17, 17, 700. Oh, you can join the conversation at Gore Football Show. Can't wait for it to get underway tonight in the championship, and then tomorrow in all the divisions. Barry, one of the headlines today. Connor Barron, who started really well for Rangers, could go to a tribe, you know, the clubs can't or haven't agreed a fee so far. I think they would get at 500,000 if they'd gone out west Scotland. Yep, yeah, I've been treasting this year. Well, Aberdeen, I don't think we're happy with the offer that they got from Rangers to others that's going to be going to a tribe. You're not a bit interested to see how much he's been just been called up by the international team as well. I know he never get any minutes, but listen, he's impressed me, Paul. Again, I wasn't sure what they'd be coming in as a squad player, but he cemented a place in the middle of the pitch. And one thing, he's brought his energy enthusiasm, and that's what Rangers fans like to see. So listen, he's done really well and hopefully he can keep progressing the way that he's progressed in the last couple of months. 500,000 could be a snip though, given what his selling value could be, and of course they developed him for years at Petordre. I know it's, I don't know what the fee would be, but let's hope that it's sorted for him because he's a smashing young player, Peter. I know you like him. Yeah, I think he's out of choose. I know I always thought about him in a bit of sight when he was in the side, even when they were struggling a little bit and he was left at the side of the pitch. I'm thinking, well, he's the one guy I would play because he liked about it. Like the things Barry said, his energy, his enthusiasm for the game, he gives the ball away, he gets a back, you know, that he always wants the ball, even sometimes in the wrong areas. He just wants it, he shows a great enthusiasm, he's not scared. And I think you'll need all the traits to play for Rangers on a cell technique. I keep saying that he has got that. And the thing for them is the training fee is that I thought that was set in stone up here. I thought you're the training fee. I didn't know if it was at dawn because you put what you'd expected it to do. That's a very, very difficult one, Barry saying he gets called up to the Scotland squad. So does that make him dinner now? Because all of a sudden people look upon him as an international. There are other things that I'd be a bit screw with. I thought there was a set fee. If you'd come through and you were under 23, but obviously there's not. So I've been interested to see that because Rangers have been delighted what they've got for them, but they'll not want to be paid over the top either. The rules are different if the player is under 23 moves to another club domestically. So that's correct. Though sort of a date, let's hope they could get it. I mean, Aberdeen got a few quid for Nioski, but it doesn't work that way. I know fans would say, "Oh, come on. It's only half a million pounds." But if there's been a case on it, for Aberdeen financial, if it's 6.5 million, some of them are from yours. Plus, I don't know. It's been your garden, 10 to 4.5. But that's brilliant for them. And great credit to them for that, you know. I mean, because we all say to you, we thought he'd done really, really well. And could he play in the school and again sell to court Rangers? We said, "He's another one." And I watched them, as I said, for it against England. I thought he'd done really well. But they've made good money from that. So, like I said, baron. And that's what the clubs up here are going to do. And it used to happen all the time. You know that yourself. We'd get one of the best ever seasons for Celtic fair, but then... Billy Stark. Right. Yeah. Billy Stark, honestly. I don't know how much Billy cost. For what he'd done for us, and the goals he scored, and the player he was, and the gentleman he was, he was what he's weighting gold. Jazz has been on asking, can anyone split the old firm? It's Celtic fine. And he's saying, "Peter, could Aberdeen come through?" 'Cause he could come second. He doesn't think so. He reckons, given what Rangers have, he doesn't think it's as good as Celtic. But he said, "Rangers should be... One of the two should be guaranteed to come second." Not an Aberdeen, not a Hertz, not a Herbs. No, I definitely think it'll be Celtic and Rangers. OK. And I think, but in saying that, and I'll go back to, I said a couple of weeks ago, I think I'll look at the squads. And I think, "Harts, I've got a stronger squad than Rangers." I'm not showing it so far. No, but I think I've got a stronger squad. If you look at paper and you look at boys that they can bring on from the bench, I'm sitting here the now and I'm guessing who Rangers team's going to be. You know, I know for certain players play. I think the playing at their best, you know, the Tom Launsey's not playing at their best. They're very good players, excellent players. But you're going to find that if their army's coming in, there's a number 10. Are they going to play them on their left hand side? Yeah. That Tom Launsey and all that. And what you can do, and he done that for Derby. And he's a good player, but I look at Hertz's squad, what I spoke about, Barry's talked about. Strikers are missing. You know, you're thinking, "Right, where do they go for there?" I think Hertz can replace theirs. You know, I think that's the difference. If a Shankman gives out, you know, the experience they've got sitting on the bench in different types of players, all could play as a centre forward. I'm not sure Rangers have. Barry, are you buying that one? Given that Law and Shankman we love in this program. We really like him. He hasn't scored. In terms of it can empty break the... No, absolutely no chance. No chance. It's the Hertz squad stronger, as Peter thinks, just now the Rangers. I've heard the lesson, Dan, his opinion, I don't think it is. I'm just trying to look at the Rangers squad fight for Sunday of everybody's fight. Can you have put on the pressure again, Enema? We're going to be starting now, Evan. We're going to go for the Celtic one first, given that's tomorrow. Good, so I can look at the Rangers squad. Is everybody's face? Yeah, I mean, people like Cass and Rachel, we're going to see him defend our own loan. Yeah. Cass and we're going to get you to all these new names. Oh, but that's exactly what I'm saying. We're guessing who they are. Yeah. We've no seen anything. So that's why I'm saying the squad is stronger. Premier League wise. There's no doubt in the mind of that, because these guys have all played at Hertz. I've all been in the Premier League and a couple of other guys have come in there, international players. So there's many things like that. And that's what I'm saying. If you look at their 18, 19, 20 players, you could see Hertz was stronger, but I still think the Rangers will finish in front of them. Here's Brendan Rogers speaking today about his team in about tomorrow's game. Three o'clock, Hertz. Yeah, for sure. You know, obviously. Callum McGregor, obviously, speaking about Hertz tomorrow. Yeah, for sure. You're obviously like you said. There's no getting away from the start that they've had. It's not been ideal in terms of what they were the wanted, but I think for us, we always just have to take these games and isolation over the areas of game to play in Celtic. So a good idea is to go and try and dominate the game and be aggressive as much as we can. But yeah, you only need to look back at what happened last season to keep your razor focused in terms of what they can do and what they can do when they come to Celtic Park. So, yeah, tomorrow we'll be taking an isolation and we give everything to the game to make sure we have positive outcome. There's the captain's view. Here's the managers. Yeah, in terms of points. There's probably been a challenge for Steven and obviously European football as well. So, yeah, so in terms of that, but they will improve. I don't do any thoughts other than that, that they will improve. It's still very early on in the season. I believe, I think I'm right in saying, Steven signed a new contract in the summer. So he feels clearly appreciated and wanted by the club. So they clearly want them and they want them to continue with the work. They're a big club, so they'll be expected to improve. But I'm pretty sure they will. So for me, we just have to be ready for a really good game or in the mood to keep our performance level as high as we possibly can. And I can say, making it really, really difficult for them in the game tomorrow. Peter? Yeah, well, I think it's important. He's right and Colin's right in the respect of you've got to be able to focus in the respect of tomorrow's the most important game. Nothing else. I remember, I think it was the same game last season and Celtic lost two now and we're really poor. Really poor. Hearts won comfortably. Celtic never laid a glove on them. And it was probably the most disappointing performance I felt of the season. And as I said, I'd seen all the home games as well. And I thought that was the biggest disappointment. But you know that hearts have got to get results somewhere along the line. But I just don't see them getting it tomorrow. I just think Celtic are too good, too strong and they've got too many players playing at the best. The drop-offs are remarkable, isn't it? Just that draw with Rangers opening day of the season. And one goal, and Lauren Shanklin, we've mentioned, we know we've got injuries, binning me and some others as well. For Celtic, what you're thinking then, what's your team quite a few people saying? Give us the Celtic line up. I thought I was going for the Celtic line up, but listen, if they're all fit, that becomes a question. Matt's are obviously enjoying and Celtic is, isn't he? I think that would be straight swaps. If they weren't available, I think Roast and Tristy would come in. So if Tristy for the first time, obviously. Yeah, I think it would. Well, it would be joints and Celtic Vickers scales until after all fit. If they're not fit, you could end up with Roast and Tristy. And Vali and the other guys that come in at the place, because that's their job now. And that's what I'm saying, Celtic, we've got two or eight bikes, two centre halves, and that's the way they would play. And the middle of the pitch, I think he may leave Bardonardo even though I thought I think he's been outstanding. I just think playing that day later, angles have not a little bit more training time. I think he may start angles tomorrow, maybe see an opportunity. And then obviously Bardonardo may come back for the European game. And then McGregor, a tighty. I think he'll leave Miedo even though he's been outstanding. I think he may be starting before us and the respect to that. And saying that made another play the second game. No. And if Hugo is fit, that's the only question, Miedo, with his shoulder. Will he play him in there? Will he give, try and get game legs into, as he, Adamida? And I think he'll have cut in the right hand side. It's what the manager's saying, it's the thing about one game at a time. And I'm just playing this, given that you're saying, you know, the huge game on Wednesday. For people outside and yourselves looking at it and its supporters and it's amazing. You do look at all the, you look ahead, but really, and this is the boring side of coaching and managing, you have to really focus on the next game. And it is a mantra you'll have heard. And I can tell you, after lots of experience, it really is what we focus on. We haven't mentioned Bratislava yet. I've watched them and a number of games in the international break. But with regards to the players, no, our focus is getting everyone back. This is our first day back in together with the whole squad. So we've had to sort of reset and, like I said, re-calibrate everything again and then just focus on our performance tomorrow. Look after that, then we can think of Wednesday and, but yeah, when you look into the future, it's three great games for us in three different competitions. Yeah, I think he's rating that respect. And that's why I'm always trying to pick your best team, if you possibly can. But I think the Kyogo's shoulder situation, and it looks fragile, Paul, when you see him at times, you know, he gets a bump on it. I've noticed defenders even pulling him now in the Scottish game on his shoulder. And you can see that in that mark on him now. So obviously, people are very much aware of that. Do you think you'll get the up, eventually? No, I don't think you'll get up tonight. No, I think maybe later on, but I don't see him unless it's a needs must in the respect to that. I just think it's one of these setations. He knows it's going to be sore. He knows if he can deal with it, he has to. And that's why I sell together. They say they've got an either, they've got a media that can play through there. That's where they're a little bit stronger in that respect. But he's right. He can't focus. He can't be showing pictures of Bratislava and then switching back to harps. You can only think one thing and one thing only. And I keep saying it, one in the leakage is the most important. To do that, you have to be harps at home. So you're front three again, then? If they were, you know, if Kyogo's fit, he's in. Kyogo's in. Yeah, who I honestly couldn't. But I think he may leave me either because he's played the game. I think he may, even though he's been outstanding, I think he may give James Forrest because that's not a drop. I just think James Forrest has been outstanding as well. He finds it probably definitely was left out as well. You know, so James Forrest, come in and it wouldn't, as I say, wouldn't drop the standard. Barry, what do you make of Peter's line up? We'll sell it for tomorrow. So many options, Paul. You could look at, I know you will think he has, but still, if he makes three or four changes, I don't think it's going to weaken the septic team. So you can look and think, right, Wednesday's important. First Champions, late game. Home, you've got to get off there. When in start, but obviously, they're not focused on hearts. So I think he's got the possibilities to go and make a few changes and still be far too strong for hearts. It is a huge game for Stevie and Asmuth, whom you know well. I mean, new contract just over a month ago. Listen, that happens at times, doesn't it? Yeah. You know, you start a season, new contract. Can you turn it round at heart? Yeah, I mean, he turned it round last year. And I'm convinced that he can turn it around again. I think it will start after Saturday. I've been honest with you, but you don't give something a new three-year contract. And then after a month, after a few bad results, go and change it. But we know how football operates, how boards think. So don't be surprised if something does happen, but I wouldn't. I think he deserves more time. He's made a few changes, made a lot of signings in the summer. It's a bit of a different heart squad for last year. But I still think in time, they'll still be... I don't think they'll finish stuff, but I call it a start this season, but I still think they'll finish in a European position. Robert's on asking Barry any word about his heart span. He's asking about Mackenzie there. CEOs Andrew Mackenzie. Is he on the way to Rangers? I don't think we know the answer yet. He knows. He came yesterday. Yeah, his name's near the top of the pile. I think it was mentioned a few months ago. It was? Yep. So, yeah, that's one position that I think Rangers are going to have to make sure they get its spot on. Paul, because it's such an important position at the club. It's somebody who kind of is a glue everything round about all the definite areas in the club. So they need to make sure they get that spot on. It needs to happen pretty soon, because it's been on too long since James Bizgrove's left. What's your score line tomorrow for Celtic against hearts? What do you reckon? I think four or five, Paul. You reckon? Yeah, they're really going to go for it. Yeah, I hope I'm totally wrong. Like you're asking my honest opinion. Yeah, I think Celtic are going a bit too far too strong for him. Scoring three in every game or more. Well, that's why I went for Paul. You go for it for three now. OK, three now Celtic, because hearts will make it different for you. Even the not playing well. That means they'll be more defensive in the respect of the structure. You know, they'll try and have that balance that they try and not let you through, because Celtic like to play through you obviously. But it's very, very difficult to keep that back. No shot. You know, so I expect Celtic to score a minimum of three. Rangers fans are hoping to see Bizrami in their three and a half million. A lot of money, Barry, you know, at a time when there's not enough a lot there. So good ages well, Paul, 25, he's got a good big experience. But a lot of money, certainly when the club are finding it difficult just now. So yeah, I'm expecting good things for him as I said. I've done a lot of homework on him, Paul. I watched his last two games obviously playing with his national team. And he looks a player. He looks a player, but listen, it's different coming to Scotland. You'll understand once he puts that strip on how pressurised it is. But it certainly looks to me if he's got the capabilities, he'd been a very good Rangers player. Does he get goals in him? He was asking this question today. Yeah, first of all, I just wanted to adapt as fast as possible. And it's important. I need to improve what the coach wants. And then my goal here is to win trophies, to do my best for the team for the fans. And this year we have also developed a league to do our best there. And yeah, to look forward to game by game. What is he reckons his best position? I think I'm a player who likes to play forward. A player who likes to do assists to help the team, to score also. I can play also on the left wing, but my favourite position on the 10 and the strikers. But it's up to the coach, so I will do my best. Guys, they put us ashamed, don't they? They're command of the English language. It's impressive, as was, angles the other night. Pete, what are you thinking about there, British Army? What did you say, Paul? That was good, Pete. That was not bad. He's laughing, but he's not happy. He's still playing. You've been able to upset him and go for a little bit. That's your last show, Pete, I'm good to see you. Pick up your jobs as you're leaving. Oh, that was good of you. Thank you, Pete. That was easy. Join us, Andy, welcome back next week. I don't know what I asked you, what you thought of the British Army. They're a bit not honest to know. No, but I think it's important, Paul, because I think they need a freshness round about their group. And I think that could maybe bring them in excitement as well. As Barry talked about, there's about four or five guys coming in here. And sometimes when you have not been involved in all the rigmarole that's went on and round about the club. Sometimes that freshness, they're unaware of it. And maybe sometimes what they can hear from the stand, doesn't sound like the British boys were clear on what's getting shot at us. These guys might be not hearing it in respect to that. So they've got that freshness, which for Rangers, they'll be hoping that that lifts everybody else round about the group, not just the players, but the supporters as well with their performance. And play with that freedom. Barry, right, assuming that Celtic win or in Saturday or whether they don't, what's the team then? Do you want the team that I would play? I'd like yours first, yeah. I'll go for bitling and goes about for a sterling it right back, shooting, barreling and yefti. I would go three in a middle of the pitch, barreling and day on Monday and bizrami. Tav in the right, one feller up, I would play him feller up, cheering and I left in there so I stood in the middle. Wow, that's what I would go with. Do you think he'll do that? No, no. What do you think he will play? I think he'll play Tav, certain, proper yefti, barreling and day on Monday. I'm unsure whether he'll bizrami. I mean, again, I spoke about it. I had put him in, he's played. It's baller getting fit, right? It looks, I was just trying to look. Barre, you've seen a bit of a deal he's been training, so. I would play him. Oh, I would play barreling all day long. All day long. Because I just think it gives you that wee battle leadership, which is important. She may have got any tough places, but you need somebody, you know he's going to put a jacket on me. It doesn't matter about the performance with his legs, but his experience could probably help you. And do you think this is part of the deal now, right? Tav in here is staying, he's the captain, and he's going to change it a little bit, moving further up. I've just tried something different, because obviously in the last few games, I've no kind of walked out. Tav going forward is different class in mind. He's great going forward, delivery. He's getting energy. He makes that back post run very well, always late run. So, look, I don't think he'll go with that, but I would try and do something different. And it would maybe, obviously, mix Bandi 90 up a wee bit. And it mixes up a team a bit, and I'll look at it, and it's a physical team as well. And when you go to places like Danadise, you need to be physical. Because they'll go and they'll try and build a range. So, you need to be prepared for that. So, that's the team I would go with. I don't think it will be. I think Tav will be at right back, I think, channel play. And they're right. I'm unsure whether he'll start Bizrami. And maybe go with the three that played at Celtic Park. Honestly, I don't know. Maybe Sterling can play in the left, and Tom Lonson, the Madeleine 3. But my team, that's the team that I would go with, Paul. I know he might surprise a few people, but it's a no-granny. He's looked at me. I've had tons. No, he's on already a big range, just find same Bandi. I love it. And lots of rangers fans are saying. Let's see what he says about Bizrami. This was today's media conference. He was the first time today that he trained with the team. So, he signed the day after he was at the game, and then he left for national team. So, it was for him, his first minutes with the squad today. It doesn't help, of course, if you don't know, even the names of your teammates, when you need to start the game. So, he's just in the building. But we will see. It depends on circumstances also. So, I will make that decision after the tournament tomorrow. And he was the player himself. That's the same question. Are you ready? Yeah, I'm ready. But it's up to the coach. So, I feel good. I just played two games now with Alwain and national team. And yeah, I'm ready. Yeah, I would play on Paul. But see what I'm saying, Sterling and Tav, Sterling, right back, to have one fill her up. Listen, they can't interchange with each other. It's happened before Paul. So, I'm not saying that Tav needs to stay one fill her up. And Sterling needs to play it right back. But they can't interchange with each other. But I just look at it and I think it's a strong team. There's a presence there. There's a bit of energy in terms of the new sign. And I've said that he's played a couple of games. Look, the manager will make that decision. But the man's saying there he's ready to go. You spent three and a half million euros on him. You expect big things. You could be a game changer. And this is the time he put him in and go in one again. Peter, what do you feel? I look at range of some teams, Paul. And I think why not change even the system? I played in the back seat, I've said before. Because ballergan then could play with cigar maybe. And that's central when he doesn't eat. People talk about like this, like I paste that. He's big, he's whatever you know. But kindness again. You know what I mean? Crossy's coming in, he's always in the centre of the goal then. And range of lose goals like that. Because the centre of the back's get 10, too far over. And the full backs don't cover round mill enough. So I think they've got players that could change the system. But as an attacking way, people think you go back to you. I mean, you throw the back and you've got the midfielders in there. You can play a number 10, you can play two strikers if you want. It doesn't matter. You know, you're getting crosses in the box. You're no worrying about James Tavern. You're getting caught in a position because he's too high up the pitch. Because all of a sudden you've got a right-cended centre back there. And James Sutter say, so he's playing his art sort of full-back area. I think sometimes, because if you keep playing the same thing, time and time again, you keep getting the same results. Because it's the same players you're asking to do it. And they've proven they're not good enough at doing that. So sometimes that element is a surprise. Surprise, you're never mind everybody else. I mean, me love this one. In terms of ballergan, I just like ballergan. I just like the presidency brings. He's got good experience. He does things really simple as well, which I like for a centre back. But do you know what he's there for? He goes and wins his headers, gets close to the number nine. And for me, when he's fat and available, I would always play ballergan. And it would be up to who beside him. But if you're going on Sunday's game, I would put him beside John Sutter. Like, go Heba. That's another one. Don't touch it, we're not for smoking. Quick break, and then we're back. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go, let's go. We're talking the top teams for this weekend. We've talked about Celtic against Hearts Tomorrow. Rangers at Dundee United. We didn't get your score line, no batting. Quite a few Rangers fans are on day like the sound of that. It's a play sterling, but also Tavern here is where they could interchange. Didn't that right? Yeah, I've seen it happen before, Paul. And I've listened. I just think it would work personally. I might be totally wrong, but I would obviously go and try something different. As I mentioned, it may be mixed in Dundee United. Up a week, I retouch. But anyway, the most important thing is going in and making sure to get to three points. There's no doubt about that. And I think that team is more than capable to get to three points. Here's the manager today speaking about his captain, James Tavern here. Very mature. So yeah, we talked about that because it's not a nice thing. And if you're a captain, you're a symbol of a team. And people see you that way. I had the same experiences before in British, and I was there 10 years. Like that. And in the moments when it's really good, it's really nice to be a captain. And the moments when the team doesn't perform, and it's not only about you, it's about the team. And you don't reach the expectations of the fans at moments. You're the first one that they talk to or that they yell to at that moment. So I had these moments also in my career. It's part of being a captain. It's part of being a captain. And I have to say, it takes it really mature. And it's very motivated to get really good results the next couple of months. And to get a love back of everybody in the club. The love is from a lot of people still there. And some people were very, very disappointed after the Salty game. What we can understand, because we were also. It's easy to run away from your responsibility. It totally doesn't do. But it doesn't need it also to have a fuel and motivation. Better as a player, sometimes you must want to forget about the sound, the noise and get back playing football. Most important thing, Barry spoke about it earlier on. You want to get a game as quick as you possibly can, Paul. There's no doubt that it's been a long two weeks for James. But let's be perfectly honest with you. It's so destroying. Please blame me, I've been through it. And it's hard and it's difficult. And no matter who, you can't get away from it. You try and turn away from it and you can't, because everybody's talking about it. And everybody's asking you, you're okay and whatever. You just want to go out there and try and play well. That's what you're trying to do. And he will try and go out and do that. And he may not have a good game, but it's not because he's not trying. You have a good game. He needs help and he needs support. He needs that from his players and other many supporters. So he needs that as well as we're all done. And it's never very easy. He's got to support a major who's been through itself, which is important as well. Because sometimes you don't know what to do. But he'll probably know as well, sometimes you don't know whether they'll leave them and be on their own and don't mention it for a little while. Or do you go and talk to them? I think that would have happened right at the start. But then, since then, he'll just go on mate and just try and make it as normal. For James, it's different because it sits in your head. The memories are there. And it doesn't leave full because 100 people could support you. One person criticizes you and that's the one you will always hear in your head. It's quite bizarre, actually. You know, that one person stays in your head. And especially, as I say now, because it sits on the social media, which is ridiculous. That's why I'm embarrassed if I was filming somebody getting accurate. No, that was shocking. Barry, I was just thinking about when I read the column. I mean, I listened to tonight. Being a captain of Rangers is something else. It's different. You know, from being a player at Rangers, we hear a Peter at Celtic and what it means as well. So it'll be the same question. But to be the captain, and when things are going so difficult, this is the time for him to stand up now, whatever that means. But to get out there and lead that team, it's another thing. Yeah, it's a huge responsibility, Paul. And nobody likes getting criticized it. And you know what? I was finding my criticism as long as it was constructed. Sometimes I've been over the top. It's no nice. But he's had a couple of weeks now, and I'm sure. And I would like to think he's so determined to go out in Sunday and go and prove that he's a very good player. And he's a very good captain. And that's what I expect in Sunday. What's your score line, Peter? What do you reckon? I think Rangers are one. Three, one. Three, one Rangers. That would be resounding. Barry, what do you reckon? I think the win back up, look. Ah yeah, I was going to say that the same as Granny, but I'll go to now, Rangers. You don't want to say the same thing, you two. It's good to keep a clean thing. It's good to see you. Jack Butler, we're desperate to get back as well. You know, because, you know, he came with such great expectations, a really good season last year. Great chat. Didn't get the England call up that we all thought he should have got. But it's been a cloud over Rangers for the last six or seven weeks. Yeah, the way you've got your look at it. Paul, there's been a cloud, there's been a lot of criticism thrown their way. And the only way to stop that is winning games. And that's the attitude you've got to have. That's the mindset you've got to have. If you go up to Canada and you come away, we are convincing one. The noise starts to drop a bit. And then you go to Dundee, figure this in the cup, drops again. It's all about winning games. What's it like winning a title? You first, buddy. What's the taste of winning a title? And what sense, I think, just what's a memory you've got? A glass of champagne or a cup of tea, pizza or whatever? No, I just mean in general. What's it like? Because I'm going to bring it round to the Celtic captain in a minute. It's really difficult to describe it. Listen, it's amazing feeling after that. I mean, a long hard season through a lot of good. And in some bad throughout that season, they come through and as our commander's champion should I say, it's a relief as well, Paul. And you make so many people happy. That's the thing that I used to think when you see the stadium erupt, everybody singing and dancing and think everybody in the pubs and everybody in their house season, whatever. That's the thing that I used to think to myself, that you've brought so much joy to people that they can go and celebrate. And also, you can go and celebrate with your teammates and your family. Look, the special days and this and I always had the mindset is, go and celebrate them because you don't know if it'll be your last one. So that was my kind of attitude when I won titles. Like your boyhood club. And for you, Peter, your boyhood team Celtic. What was that like? Well, it was brilliant because I had fantastic captains in the respect to that. I had Danny McGranie start with. Obviously, we win at Paisley. Then we're drawing, we win a double in the centenary season. And it's just so destroying that Paul never got the opportunity to get the last one game. But thankfully, he won the Scottish Copies captain because for the talent that he had as well. So it's so opposite when it doesn't happen because Paul, the other side of the coin when you miss the penalty against race, you know. At the Highbrooks. But the one thing the Celtic supporters can move, we're unbelievable. I think they may be pretty used to road after that. And they come out with a banner. You know, a bit about Paul, a positive banner about Paul. The Southern fans love Paul. But if you understand what I'm saying, there was a difference, Paul. You know, there was a difference there. And they needed that support. And that meant a lot to Paul. I knew that anyway, but that meant a lot to him. And that's why it was brilliant. The CM is captain, lift in the Scottish Copies. Obviously, another league as I say, but a very good season without win a league. But it's not enough. You have to win the league. We lost one game. And as I say, we didn't do enough to win the league because we had too many draws. And it killed us of you, but that talent it had. But as I say, it was false enough. I'd draw you, and the damage you're not paid in. The people always used to enjoy them. I remember the first one, elation, because it's your first one doing it. It pays on the way it happened. You want to go against it, right? Yeah. Gold difference. But the second one ahead, all season, Barry, but most of the season. And then right at the end. I think they went something like 22 games on Ben. I hope it ends, Paul. Yeah. That's why I always win Torsch McInney TV. I always remember win the Torsch up. Because I say, that's the best thing you've ever done for self-ticking. No kidding. No, Torsch McInney, of course. He's a substitute at an Albert Kid put on. Oh, yeah. And it's going to happen. Yeah, I mean, as I say, I wouldn't end up with that. No, Torsch is brilliant for us and a fantastic guy. I once said that, it's a joke in a programme saying, self-explanatory, that you was Albert Kid. And people said he didn't play for self-ticking. He didn't play for self-ticking. I probably not named after him as well. I mean, it was a joke at the Albert Kid. Yeah, no, absolutely. I met him recently. I was at a self-ticking sports function in Dundee and Albert was there, he was like, "Don Johnson, out of Miami. If he's now, he's like $1 million." That's Torsch McInney, at the Dundee Killwalk, meant to tell you. So obviously, yeah. Another good, really good player. But as I say, as captains and whatever go, that responsibility, it's all the time. I mean, self-ticks greatest captain, obviously, is Billy Meeknell. Yeah. You know, but when you look at, obviously, wrong before my time, you see other captains probably. But Billy's the one in the icon. It stands out to me, it's what self-ticks about, how you represent, all these sort of things. As is John Gregg, probably for Rangers, if you understand what I'm saying. Of course, yeah. So there are the two guys, all always remember as Rangers captains and Celtic captains in that respect, who led the club the way they should be. You know, as people, the way they've been on and spoke of it, they're clubbing the demands that they put on, other people on. Yeah. Yeah. You know, and I think Billy said, in many, many ways, I'm just thinking of the interviews, and John Gregg, he was always, he was brilliant, Barry, to interview you with such a great, and what a gentleman, you know, way for it, as they both were. Exactly. There's what I'm saying, but Paul, that's why I'm saying it's not just being the captain, it's how you represent the club in 24/7. That's a big thing. And John is, of course. I haven't seen him for a while, but Edinburgh's finest, doesn't he? But it came through, and... Yeah, he was always about the club when, when I obviously was coming through the, the system in that, uh, Dick Advocate actually, Brongham, and he was part of the, like, kind of, play his own type. He would, um, just be floating about the, the training ground. They would come away at your own, the games, whether at home or away. And then, obviously, yeah, growing up, I mean, just when I was obviously, no born when you obviously, obviously, was playing and doing these stuff for Rangers, but when you look back, and you hear people talk about him, and he has the greatest ranger. What was your dad like? Was your dad ever with you, and you'd say there's John Gregg, and did your dad speak to John? I, I, I, but everybody knows John Gregg, but you're that woman, your dad's lifelong ranger, so he must have loved it, meeting. Yeah, I'm true. Yeah, it was one of his heroes, I'm sure. Yeah, um, no doubt, it was a lot of people's heroes. Who else? Your dad's Rangers players that he loved. Oh, come on, come on. You're putting on that pressure here. I can probably get it last night. I can probably give you the Christmas card. Yeah, Colin Steen. Ah, a little more of him. Yeah, Bill, him, yeah. Derek Johnson. Big Derek, big DJ. Derek Parley. Jumpback. Yeah, there's all these. I mean, he was still around, I broke for years, wasn't he? What? On the left peg. Yep. What was the name of the game? Staff that keep the ball up. Against England, at Wembley, and they were world champions. Have you, Bob? That was all night game, didn't it? Yeah, he did. Yeah, absolutely. But listen, you're talking about it. But that's what I'm saying. You're talking about John Greg and Billham and Hill. That's where it means to be the carp near angels or Celtic. You know, these are the guys you've fallen. These are the guys that have represented them the way they did. People still talk to them to this day. That's how big your clubs are in the respect of that. You know, you've got to remember that. And that's what we're saying these players are representing. And that's why I'm saying when people are shooting it, James Tavern here, it's no nice. Remember, he's trying to represent you and your club, you know, without captains, Adam Banding. If it's some iconic ones, I know what it's like when you suffer. You know, so we know that and we keep talking about that. Paul suffered not because his ability, but because the earth team wasn't enough to beat Rangers over the season and win leagues. And that was a big disappointment for me because he deserved more than that. He certainly did. The current Celtic captain is a bit special. Calla McGregor. And my goodness, he's on form scoring goals as well. Yeah, it's been good, obviously, when you get some goals and the type type of goals that have scored then, of course, it's nice as well. And we'll always attract other attention. But I've said it pretty much every time I'm in. I mean, for me, it's about the team and how the team are functioning and how we look as a unit. So again, really happy and pleased with how we've started the season. But I mean, we're only a month in. And how many continue to keep pushing? Four games, 12 goals. What's the chat after the international break? Yeah, of course, it's always a message whenever they comes back from internationals, different styles, playing with different players, obviously, as well. So when we get everybody back into the building, we try and refocus in terms of the idea that we want and the way we want the game to be played. So these couple of days here have been vital, just trying to reprogram everybody. And like you said, the team's in good momentum. So we've got next little blocker, six games, I think it is. And just take them one at a time and just try and let you say, get the performance level and the results to match what we did at the starting season. This is the Go Radio Football Show. Listen anytime, whatever you get, your podcast. Let's go! Let's go! I'll tell you on the business show on Sunday morning at 11 here on Go, another great show with Tom and Willie. And I'll tell you who their special guest is. There's the board you can't afford, but the special guest is a director of Sisty City Access Scaffolding. Her name is Kirsty Allen. So it's a brilliant story. She was brought up in a rough part of Edinburgh, but my goodness how she has come really good. So I'm looking forward to hearing Kirsty Allen City Access Scaffolding. Sunday morning or wherever you get your downloads and your podcasts are looking forward to that. It is doing really, really well. Right, we're racing out of time. Before we go through the other games, this weekend, the other big derby, it's not the old firm, not the Glasgow Derby, North London Derby. Who's going to win it? Is it going to be Ange, Pusticle Blues, Tottenham? Or Michael Arteta with a new contract, The Arsenal? Peter! Another great thing, Arteta played a Scotland. Yeah, and was in Scotland as well. Exactly, yeah. And that's brilliant. And that's the things that people got to say, well, they keep noting the Scottish game. These guys have all went and proved at the highest level. And they're so-called best league in the world. You know, I'm really looking forward to the game. Because I think Arsenal have got players that can cut off us to be the pace. And just likes to play in the half-wailing, as you know. So I'm really looking forward to watching. I'm not just saying that because Ange is a manager. Just be the way they play, because you always think it's bizarre at times. Because you think, OK, you've done brilliant. You've got to the half-wailing. I understand the reasons behind it. But you think, wow, with a pace in England, it's a very, very different one to get away with all the time. And that's the thing that he's gambled with, but you have to be successful with. And I think that's what they've got to do. Ange will be looked upon in this game, because they maybe think they can't win trophies. We only get to Pichola twice, Paul, in the league. So you've got to definitely win one of these games. And I think they've found that as a problem. They've got to win one of these derby matches to keep the rules away. Because they threw it away the other week, didn't they? Absolutely. I'm going to get your score line in a minute. No order guard, he's injured, isn't he, Barry? And Declan Rice suspended. Big chance for Tottenham. Yeah, especially the two players. They're key players for Arsenal. If Arsenal had day two players, I would probably fancy Arsenal. But I think Tottenham could just knick this. Right. Thanks for knowing what's going to happen. Wait, we talked about going to come flying out the traps. A hundred mile an hour for the first 15-20 minutes. If Arsenal keep them at bay, I think Arsenal could win it. But if they don't and Tottenham get an error to go, I think it could be Tottenham's. So I want to go Tottenham. Yeah, I think the set plays. Because Tottenham have not been that great on them if you look at the goals we've conceded. And also the pace that Arsenal have got. So if you've got a martin area of that, I'm sure he's fit. The likes of these guys, if you play a higher line and you've got the cycle and the other side of the pitch, these guys have got the pace to burn. And they can leave you from there if you let the ball in behind you. And obviously, Barry knows you can press the ball as much as you can. But if you don't get it right and that pace is in behind you, you're not catching up. And that could be a downfall. I'm hoping Tottenham won. But I see Arsenal sneaking it to one. And can anyone catch Manchester City? We don't have enough time to talk about the case starts on Monday for these 100-odds. I've been interested in that, Paul, because I listen to it a bit, an indictment on England. What they're going to do is take five titles away from Manchester City. I don't think that's going to happen. This will run, and run. That's what they're going to do. Financially, they can afford to do that as well. So the ones you feel for the Leicester's, you know, not in the forest. And I know they've all spent money. But if they want to put their clubs at risk, that's their fault. You know, if they've got that money, there's nothing you can do. And that is a problem that they've all got down there. Because I was down there with an ITV, if you remember. The money went bust. All the lower clubs, Paul, Neil, have been out of business. How was it born out at the time? We'd sold all our season books and whatever. And we'd brought players in, and obviously their wages and whatever. Then all of a sudden ITV, digital, it was at the time, went bust. All of a sudden, everybody was on their knees. Because you couldn't be out of business. Because that's what you were depending on. I think it was 750 grand at that particular time for the second division or first division. And that was like three seasons, four seasons of money. All of a sudden, one day, finished. And a lot of clubs never really come back from it. This one will run and run. And today, finally, mentioned the English football. Sad occasion, but there were so many from football were there. The funeral of Sven Gorin, Ericsson, and Barry. And not least, David Beckham, who said he was his mentor. Yeah, I've seen clips of it in the amount of ex-footballers, ex-managers, current managers, current footballers who were at it. It was good to see. Obviously, paired in high regard. No doubt about that. So, yeah, an amazing turn out for him. His father was there in '95. That's always really sad, isn't it? Right, Hodgson was there, a father figure in football. Peter, it was a remarkable career on and off the field. The C. Nancy DeLolio was there as well. So, it had a rich life. I managed against him for knowledge against Manchester City. And he was so respectful. It was unbelievable. A year people talking about it. But Delano and all of a really good side. They started the season really well. We drew them in the cup and we played really well. We beat one now in the last kick of the game at Manchester. And it was very respectful to the team and everything after it. But I didn't expect any more when you see all these things. And you can see why players wanted to play for them. You know, they could get the best of all different types of individuals. And I think that was his great trait. He was a very warm person. And it didn't, in different characters. But he treated them all differently. And I think that was his biggest strengths. But as I say, very respectful. And a couple of times, a fortune of me. It's great that you met him. So did you Barry. I know the former England manager. What a life what career. Back here for tomorrow. We've mentioned the big two for tomorrow and Sunday. What about St. Marin against Kelly? Barry, looking at you first on that one. I think it's a really good game. Yeah, I think that will be a really good game. I think two teams, two good managers. Two managers who set the team up really well. Yeah, I'm going to go a score drawing this one. One each. St. Marin on what, four points. Kelly, one point. Top six, in fact, in Europe. We know the story. Peter, what do you think is going to happen tomorrow? I'm going to go for some Monday 1-2-1. I just think that the strikers and the way they play, coming back after this break. I just think they've got to be a bit more power as a pair. And I think that, we're talking about playing with one up front or two up. I think that the pair really suit each other. And I think they got a lot of chances from that. So I'm taking some Monday 1-2-1. But come on, I'll come back. Come on, I'll not stay down there long. Very cool over there, more organised. And they'll start kicking back up the table. Don't panic. You like all this, ain't you? Don't you? I know you do. Yeah, very quick. You never give us your moment. I'd take playing against them always. John's on that way, Paul. You'd take playing against these guys. You're 50 now, so. I'd sell for those 50. Barry, what about Hibbs against St. Johnson? Again, they both need sort of Hibbs. We know two points. St. Johnson, one better. But Hibbs especially, big budget. You just took your words out of my mouth. Big budget manager, under a wee bit of pressure. New signing, Dwight Gail, who I think will be a good signing for them. Yeah, I'm going to go Hibbs to win this 1-2-1. I think I'll be a close one. Peter. Hibbs, to an ill, I walked my date, Dwight Gail, at Peter, where my dad, I'm sure he got some done with us. They came in to help me out for a little bit. And Dwight was there as a young man. And he's sold them for about £6 million. Came from no in league. Outstanding striker. Great finisher. I know he's 34 years of age. I don't know what his fitness levels are. But if he's anywhere, he's finishing on not being lost. That's for sure. And he was sharp. And I think that's something that, by all accounts, have missed that they've created opportunities. I see them winning the game 2-0. 2-0. Barry, what was your score line? 2-1. 2-1. Also, because they're coming to the Kilt Walk on Sunday, in the Kilt Walk. 9,100 people. And I don't think I'm giving anything away. Saint Joan Newell will be there, Chris Cadden. Meg Well will be there. Melhotnikov. And the manager. Sir, David Gray as they call him. Liam Craig, the coach. And Malcolm Mackay. Right there, you did it. I've seen him this morning. Fortunately, I was a body analysis funeral today. A fantastic man. And it was a sad day, a sad occasion. But a wonderful, wonderful man. Ex Clyde, etc. St. Johnson. But he's a wonderful man. But Malcolm is here today showing his respects. Well, we'll see them on Sunday morning at the Kilt Walk. Ross County against Andy. Peter, what do you reckon? I think that's going to be close to that one, Paul. I must admit, I went forward. I'm just looking down here. I'm not going to get a glass. I went for him. Oh, actually. I went for 1-1. And that one. I just think, Dundee have started really well, but it's always definitely a big role. I'll be interested to see how Simon Murray does. Yeah. You know, I think he's obviously a problem for you. You know, and you'll be desperate. Is it always us? Because that's the way he plays. He plays without enthusiasm. He's a massive player for them. But wouldn't be unlikely to go back there and score the winner. But I'd go for 1-1 in that game. You can almost see that, can you? What do you think, Barry? I think Dundee will win the game. I like Dundee an ode of loss. Probably the most important player in the look, my co-in. But I still think Dundee will be too strong. So Dundee 3-1. And we mentioned Aberdeen. Motherful for those that missed it, Barry. You're thinking home win? Yeah. Yeah. 2-0, Aberdeen. And I went 2-1, Aberdeen. Or the dawn. So those are the premiership games. What about the championship? Dunfirmal and Raythrovers. Hard one to call, Peter. I'm going to go for a 1-1 draw in that one. OK. Barry, Airdry Falkirk. I know it's tough earlier in the season. The Airdry Falkirk. Going for Falkirk. Air against Patek Thistle. Air. Air. Living against the mighty Hamilton Achilles. They might be Hamilton Achilles. OK. And Queensport Martin. I'm going to go for a draw in that one. Barry, on that one, will you reckon? You're going to say a draw? Um, what? What? What? You're going for the tie on? This year from Kallen McGregor. We'll hear from both sides just before the end of the program. It's Zoey's birthday today. Zoey's coming up just after. Happy birthday, Zoey. So happy birthday, Zoey. Yeah, there she is. Breakfast this morning. And she's doing the show tonight. It's the only way to start the weekend. Oh, I've had 24-2. I think it's been like 24-2, yeah. Here's Brendan Rogers speaking about the squad depth that he's got as he goes into this game tomorrow. Yeah, I think that the strength for us over the course of the season, it's not just for now. It's a really, really long season. You think there's not the break. That we've had it for a number of years up here. There's international football for many of the players. So having that depth of squad in order to keep the rhythm, to keep the intensity, to keep the speed and the functionality of the team, that's important. So really, really pleased. We've done really, really well in the window with the players that we brought in, really happy with that. But we still want to improve. Going forward, but the players will bring in, will improve, make them better. And the squad's looking strong. Peter Grant's agent tells me you'll be on Celtic TV tomorrow. How much are you looking forward to it? I'm really looking forward to it again, Paul. You're all Celtic players. I'm not saying how much you get, but then... Haven't he's for free? Big game tomorrow. Yes, I'm going for a Celtic one, another good performance. I'm going to see if the other boys play. The new boys play, Paul. We'll see more minutes over there. And for Rangers, we're going to leave you with Bizrami. Barry, quite a few people are in. They like the way you would line up tomorrow. Moving to for the forward, Staling right back. Let's hear Bizrami. He says he's ready to go. And he said, this is why I came to Rangers. Yeah, the last five years I played in Italy. Italy, the league, is really tactical. And I spoke with a few players that played in Scotland. With Josh Doig, Liam Anderson. I played also with them. With Liam, I played in Empoli, with Josh. I played in Sasolo. And they just told me good things about Scotland and also the football. And I'm really happy to be here. Sunday, 12-9. See, but have a little bit of the squash. Yeah. They're so great, isn't it? Yep. Looking forward to it. I know you are. Yeah, looking forward to it. Yeah. Bizrami, straight out of the team. Back down the road with three points. They're by two and a whole Rangers on goal. Thanks so much. Thanks to everyone for their comments. Thanks to James. Peter, we'll see you next week as well. I will see you on Monday. Listen to everyone. Have a great weekend. Happy birthday Zoe. She's up next after the news with just some, well, an amazing show. This is the Good Radio Football Show. Listen live weeknights from five on goal. Let's go!
