This iHeart Radio Station is brought to you by Vitamin Water. [Music] You are now listening to the narrative podcast with Halsey Allen. The Narrative Podcast is changing the narrative one episode at a time. Good evening everybody. How is everybody doing this fine Friday evening? Great. I hope a lot going on in the world today. I started not to do a upload, but I'm here so I might as well try to stay true to my word and do uploads as many times as I possibly can during the weekday. Anyway, welcome to the Narrative Podcast. The Narrative Podcast is the home of original people, original people peace, original people reciprocity and original people positivity. The Narrative Podcast promotes positive frames, or positive reinforcement of original people and original people culture. The Narrative Podcast provides positive frames of reference about original people and original people. Welcome to the Narrative Podcast. I am your host Halsey Allen. Welcome all my narrators. I got a pretty good show for you this evening. Like I said, I started not to do upload tonight because I'm doing a full episode this weekend, most likely tomorrow. But anyway, welcome to the Narrative Podcast. So interesting thing I just want to talk about very briefly before getting this thing started. And it's now been 25 old years since we lost the entertainment megastar, a rap icon, revolution here is radical. Two-pot a March of 4, 25 years ago today. So that's just not great. It's very tragic, but I'm happy I was fortunate enough to view his career when he was in his prime. And saw the, you know, saw his growth and draw stages of his career. Now me personally, got to say far as like lyrically speaking, was he one of my favorite MCs? Not really. If we just talking about lyrics, what I appreciate about the brother was his charisma. I looked forward to his interviews more than I did like his projects. I'm not saying he couldn't rhyme at all. Like he can get down for sure, no question. Or sure he can get down. Like I will put him over like, you know, I don't do the top fires, but I will put him over a few air quotes, goats. Legends, they usually make everybody else's top five. For his more, not his lyrical ability, but his content. And of course his delivery style, his cadence is far as like MCing. But like I said, I look, you know, I look more forward to him in interviews speaking than rhyming. Like talking about, you know, our issues in our plight as a people. You know, I look forward to that, seeing him on TV in that respect. So I can't stand, stand everything, every single one of, you know, pop speeches. You know, he had his moments. He had his fiery blow up moments. I wasn't with his fiery blow up moments, but for the most part, solid, solid. MC, solid brother for the cause. You know, he didn't just talk, he walked it. You know, if he had it in his ability to help another brother or sister, he would help another brother or sister in the way he possibly could. Now, many believe he's still alive. Many people believe he never pears. I'm not one of those many people, but you know, it's not out of the realm of pasta. This iHeartRadio station is brought to you by Vitamin Water. He saw the entire world at the age of 25. Like, there's not nobody in the United States. It doesn't have the time I met pop between ages of, you know, I would say, I would say like 28 to 60. They got the time I met pop store here in the States and abroad. And abroad too, because you know, he was a worldwide figure, he was like everywhere. He definitely bought a whole lot of nuances to wrap. And, you know, popularized a whole lot of things, made it fashionable to be intellectual, to read books. He made it cool and wrapped for males to speak about, openly speak about, you know, their vulnerabilities. He made that whole thing. He did a lot for the gang. He did a lot. I think if, you know, if there was some way he was still alive, you know, if he's still alive, if he was still alive, part of me, kind of fumbling with my words. I ain't on that conspiracy theory, ish. But like if he was still alive, I think he would probably have the number one podcast and show this. All the years he's been in Hollywood. How articulate of a speaker he is, you know, to relate to, you know, many demographics. And ask the questions people want to hear, you know, I can't see somebody not want to get interviewed by Tupac. If he was still alive, like, he could get people to give up the real real. But, or most definitely he would be like directing movies by now, because he was a, you know, he was a pretty charismatic actor too. You know, he probably would have already had a grand by now. Or Oscar, whatever it is, Oscar, yeah, Oscar is crazy, his grand is crazy. He would have definitely had Oscar by now, probably like, probably like a dozen Oscars by now. But yeah, it's hard to believe 25 years ago today he was still with us amongst us. But he changed the whole landscape of hip-hop. He was definitely a force, many different sides to him. He got that head, that radical, you know, revolutionary side to him, that deep intellectual side to him. You know, that artistic, artistic poetic side to him, you know, that gangster, grimy gutter hood side. So like to do is, you know, I don't really believe in the zodiac sign, but he was a Gemini. He displayed, you know, classic characteristics of a Gemini. But yeah, but anyway, I just thought it was just, you know, kind of crept up on me this year. You know, I don't know too many people who don't have like a favorite pop moment. We got a favorite pop song. Love him, hate him, he definitely had to respect him and admire his tenacity and work ethic. Whether it was rhyming, whether it was acting, whether it was advocating. Yeah, I definitely had to respect him, so yeah, definitely earned my respect. So how I usually kick things off on the narrative podcast. I plug and promote all my projects. Then I walk you guys through a brief synopsis of the narrative podcast. And the reason why I do that is the better familiarized listening audience, which is you, with my content. So you'll be, you know, well informed and know what you're getting into when you're listening. And be attentive while you're listening. And you're looking forward to the next episode. But on anything, however it goes, like we're gonna kick things off right now. I'm starting at the top. The first thing I would like to promote is, of course, the podcast itself. You can support the narrative podcast by following me on YouTube or X, formerly Twitter. And the reason why you want to follow me on those two mediums is because while I'm recording, after I'm done recording an episode, the episode is automatically uploaded to YouTube and X. Any other platform that my link appears, I have to manually put it there. But the software that I'm using is just automatically... This iHeartRadio station is brought to you by Vitamin Water. This is an ad by BetterHelp. What are your self-care non-negotiables? The things you know make you feel better, even when it's impossible to take time for them. Like that workout you try to squeeze in between kids' activities, work, and everything else you have going on. And before you know it, it gets pushed to tomorrow. Sound familiar? But it's the moments when you feel like you have no time for yourself, when those non-negotiables are more important than ever. Those are the things that keep you strong, healthy, motivated, and prepared to take on everything life demands of you. So why not make therapy one of them? BetterHelp Online Therapy makes it easy to get started. With affordable phone, video, or live chat sessions, you can do from anywhere. And the option to message your therapist between sessions if anything comes up. Never skip therapy day. With BetterHelp, visit BetterHelp.com today to get 10% off your first month. That's BetterHelp, H-E-L-P.com. You know, uploads it to YouTube and X after I'm done recording an episode. So, you know, you want to follow me on YouTube, I'm Paul G. It is also shared, the episode on, you know, wherever, whatever platform that you would like to, you know, share content on. Make sure you share the American S.I.U. support American podcast from YouTube. I just want to make the disclaimer. That's my viewer channel. I don't have a channel exclusively for the narrative podcast. It's just my viewer channel and view or listen to the narrative podcast episodes. You want to go to my videos, which is set to public, so you should be able to, you know, see it. But after you subscribe to my YouTube channel, you automatically get the narrative podcast episode. You know, that's my only thing that's being uploaded to YouTube. Everything else is just my viewer stuff. Yeah, and then next, you also want to follow me on X for me Twitter and go to my page. I stay good at Halsey Almond. You know, when you're on my page, because you will see my book of poetry pinned to the top of my page. The title of a black card, I get more into that in a second. So once you arrive at my other page, click the narrative podcast link. As I said, each episode automatically uploads to YouTube next. So if you're on X, go to my page, click the narrative podcast link. Then you should see the narrative podcast expand when you click the link. And you should see the narrative podcast banner, which is just the logo of my other podcast. A microphone, a silhouette of a microphone says the narrative podcast, and then you want to click the light button. Light button, order play button, whichever, click the light button, which is in the shape of a heart. And then once you do that, the episode will open up in the start plan. So next to the heart-shaped light button, you'll notice like a little time clock. And when a north little time clock up a little clock icon, you want to ignore that. And then leave me a comment. The comment box is next to the little clock icon. And then next to the comment box, this is the most important way you can support the narrative podcast. The download button, the download button, the icon for the download button is in the shape of a cloud. So click on that download button. It's in the shape of the cloud, it has an arrow pointing downwards, and you want to click on that. And that's the most effective way to support the narrative podcast. If you don't do any of those other options, make sure you're clicking the download button. So download this episode, and I'll previously put it so it's up in the narrative podcast. And that's how you support the platform. Put disclaimer, or not put disclaimer on more of a request. If you're a visual content creator, please be sure to, you know, shout out Ozzy Allen, the narrative podcast on your visual platform. So like, I'm talking to my YouTubers, my Instagrammers, Tiktakers, you know, anybody with a visual platform, anybody that, you know, uploads content, you know, in front of a camera. But for everybody else, you know, just like I said, download the episode. Wherever you get your podcast source from, comments, leave me a comment on each episode. And of course, share episodes to the narrative podcast on, you know, whatever platform that you'd like to share things on. And that's how you support the platform. So notice I don't have a Patreon, I'm not asking for money. I'm just simply asking you to like, share, and download. All of those options are 100% free. And the next thing I would like to promote is my personal book, my book of poetry that I've written. And the name of my book of poetry that I've written is titled The Black Heart. And The Black Heart is available currently only on one medium. And that's poleitizer.com. This iHeart Radio Station is brought to you by Vitamin Water. Elections belong to voters, not political parties. We pay for elections. They should belong to us. We should have the right to vote for any candidate from any party in every election. Any candidate? Every election. Right now, political parties have too much power. Way too much power. Way too much power. Elections should be about what we want. Because elections belong to us. I'm voting yes for the Open Primary Initiative in all candidate, open primary. So I can vote for any candidate I want, regardless of party. Vote for any candidate in the top four advance to the November election. The final four compete in November when we rank them and the winner needs majority support. It gives us better choices. It gives more power to us. I'm a yes. I'm a yes. I'm a yes. I'm a yes. Vote yes. Vote yes on Proposition 131. Paid for by Colorado voters first. All one cloth registered agent. Classer.com has a virtual online bookstore, so what you want to do to purchase my book, the black card, is go to poetizer.com's virtual online bookstore, type in my title, the black card written by me, the offer of it is me, Paul Ze Allen, H-A-L-L-G-I-E, and my title should pop up. The book is moderately priced, it's under $30, so go check that out with the black card there is about, it's basically a retrospective look of our people. As a people, everything we encounter, face endure, everything we experience, both positive and negative, it's literally just basically a snapshot of our culture, and our people condensed into 30 pounds. If you're an original man or original woman, you will automatically just connect with the poetry in that book, it will just resonate with your spirit, it will just feel right, like the book will be, the pages will be calling out to you, each poem gets better and better on each page, and it's just a veritable piece for yourself, so you will love it, you will enjoy it, people outside of our culture, you don't have to feel left out, you definitely can enjoy how the poetry is crappy, how I put it together, you definitely can learn something from me that you consider yourself cultured, open-minded, have a progressive attitude and like learning about different cultures, you can definitely enjoy that book, if you're an educator, you can like, you know, have your students read it, if you're a family person, your children, you can teach your children about, you know, different culture using that book as a reference to, but for whatever reason, just go to poetizer.com and purchase my book, The Black Car, if you're unfamiliar with poetizer.com, poetizer.com is just basically an online social media platform for writers, it appeals to our genres of writing, essay writing, short stories, novel writing, and of course poetry, that's cool to cite, many caters too, they mainly cater to poets, and it's implied in the name, poetizer, poet, media, but basically it's just a social media platform where writers can interact with one another socially, make them critique each other's word, and then also of course poetizer.com has a self-publishing feature for those who are interested in writing a book, and that's precisely what I do, so go to poetizer.com and purchase my book of poetry, visit the virtual online book store, look for my title, The Black Car, written by me, Paul G. Allen, purchase The Black Car of the Day, or be sure Black Car to vote. And the very last thing I would like to promote before diving into the synopsis of the narrative podcast is my personal poetry blog on blogger.com. This title haulses poetry corner, and basically it's just a collection of my personal poems that I write. The poetry featured on that blog site are unique because they're spontaneously written in the moment, meaning like I don't contemplate about the subject matter, I don't give a second thought to what I'm going to title each piece, it's just basically kinetic energy, it's just like, I don't know how to describe it, or how to explain it like the poet you just had. I don't force it, I just literally just be in that mode when I post a huge one. But you will love it. Another good thing about my poetry on that blog site, the poems are so very versatile, they appeal to pretty much all demographics. Anybody going through experiencing or going through anything in life, there's a poem on that blog site, that you can connect with, that you can feel something. Like I said, I have a wide variety of poems, a wide variety of subject matter, so pretty much I literally got a poem for any occasion in life. As a matter of fact, my tagline for the poet, where my poetry corner is, causes poetry corner, poetry with a passion, poetry for all occasions, and each and every one of those poems lives up to that tagline. There is that versatile, that diverse, you know, that relatable. So go check them out on vlogger.com and the address is www.missio.com. This iHeartRadio station is brought to you by Vitamin Water. I keep you willing to learn about all, you know, the latest developments of all my new projects. But those are pretty much my mainstays already completed. And, you know, I'm always going to promote those. Everything else is kind of in the finishing stages. I'm not quite done with everything else. I got some stuff I'm working on, but I share when they're completed. So now I'm going to walk you guys through this synopsis of the narrative podcast, just everything you should know about my podcast to, you know, listen attentively and absorb the content better. And just basically just have full context of what I'm doing here on this platform. So let's start off at the top tip of the name, the narrative podcast and then my podcast, the narrative podcast, because I don't like the false narrative that the media weaves about original people and original people culture. So I want to do to counter the way the media inaccurately depicts our images and our likenesses across all media platforms is to design a platform where I'm highlighting and showcasing us at our best and using positive frames of reference and promoting positive reinforcement of our people and our culture. With the mission statement of changing the narrative of the way our people are presented to the world through the eyes of the media, hence the title, the narrative podcast. So what I'm trying to accomplish in this space, my mission statement is just basically to bring awareness to the listening audience is to why it's important to responsibly utilize your platforms to share information about our people and our culture and then also to encourage the listening audience to responsibly utilize your platforms to share positive frames of reference about our people and our culture. So that's essentially with the narrative podcast all about sharing positive frames of reference about our people and our culture and upliftment and of buying our people and our culture incentivizing positive reinforcement and just basically creating a feel good positive safe space for original people. And I think that's a perfect segue to my tagline the narrative podcast changing the narrative one episode at the time by destroying negative stereotypes about original people and original people's culture. How do I destroy the negative stereotypes about our people and our culture by providing positive frames of reference about our people and our culture hence the title of the narrative podcast. Next thing you should be aware about the narrative podcast is I refer to my target listening audience as my narrators and the reason why I refer to my listening audience as my narrators is just basically this is me saying you know we need to tell our own stories. Essentially we're living in the digital information age everybody has some type of you know digital platform we communicate with each other we interact with one another we socialize we network whatever you use in your platform for your online doing something online and when you're online you're essentially you know sharing a piece of yourself some vital information something that you want the world to know about you you're sharing sharing it with the world so you're basically telling your own story on your digital space all you know digital platforms have a bio section so essentially when you're doing your bio section you're letting the world know about yourself you're telling your you know your innermost thoughts your turn on your turn off your hobbies your interests just whatever you want the world to know about yourself or if you're bit if a business your product and then generally what you do is upload visual content that is reflective of what you entered into your bio section and the visual content is the best possible visual representation of whatever you entered into your bio section whatever you want the world to know about you you upload visual content to accentuate or highlight what you've written in your bio section so said all that to say you're telling or narrating your own story and you're giving the best possible examples of your story with the best visual representations that you can provide to the world about you know yourself about your story so whatever you said the um you know the bio section you're going to upload visual content that reflects you know the information that you entered into your bio section and it's the best possible visual representation of whatever you entered in your bio section and I said all that to say as a people that's what we need to be doing as a people we need to be showing the world the best possible visual representations of ourselves because the media is is showing the most um skewed warp bow negative visual representations of us as a people so that's what I mean when I call my target audience my narrators I'm just saying to tell or narrate your own story and it's important to tell or narrate your own story because if history hasn't taught us anything it's taught us this if you don't tell or narrate your own story your own story will be told for you and the story that's being told four-hour people is the story of you know degeneracy of laziness of violence um of lewdness you know it's just unpleasantness you know that's how they visually represent our people they visually represent us as being the worst of the worst the bottom of the barrel the most unintelligent least likely to succeed it's the story that they're using that they're um with their visual images of our people and they're beaming it into people's homes 24 hours a day seven days a week in movies in television on the news in advertisements could be traced back to um systemic oppression and psychological programming and conditioning you know um the powers of shouldn't be manipulate certain circumstances you know on the social economic side of it and make it difficult to you know maneuver and navigate on the economic level far as like um having opportunity and inclusion so that's a contributing factor to you know when negative things happen within our community and then another contributing factor the main factor is you know the psychological programming and conditioning that they do to us they use the media to psychologically you know why or else to think a certain way to perceive life a certain way to perceive ourselves a certain way in each other a certain way when we're looking at each other and in certain ways are all negative they program us to think negatively to respond interact and react to me one another in a negative way and so it's not you know accidental or co-incidental this is you know they do actual experiments like they literally legitimately implant thoughts into our heads using certain frequencies they're basically like trauma conditioning is you know activating certain things in us with certain tones and frequencies and pictures and just like there's all kinds of things you can set us off we have we like this iHeart radio station is brought to you by vitamin water looking for excitement shumba casino is here play anytime play anywhere play each w group no purchase necessary boy prohibited by law c terms and conditions 18 plus got ptsb everything they've done to our people they they've experimented on us you know all kinds of medical experiments on us during slavery like they used to actually eat our people during slavery so much has been done to us like you know when we was well to do for ourselves you know they would come into our neighborhoods burn it down burn our businesses burn our homes when we was independent and didn't need to be in the neighborhoods for nothing and so they used propaganda to make well that's what y'all wanted that's what you guys wanted you guys wanted to integrate with us no you guys wanted us to integrate with you all to take away our economic base we had to strip our resources from us and now these fortune 500 companies owned all this land that used to be ours but um like i said you know i got a little long winded on that but basically whenever i'm talking about a celebrity or somebody famous in our communities never to you know down talk them or make fun of them or denigrate them it's just basically the um you know pointed out from the bigger perspective or bigger picture perspective of you know why they're in the media for something negative and what's at play and i'm breaking it down from that perspective and the reason why i need to because you know the media will have us looking and sounding crazy that's their job that's what they you know what that's the way they want to portray us to the rest of the world they want to portray us as you know star craving lunatics ignorant savages unrefined unintelligent um but anyway next thing you should know about the narrative podcast is a time since it's a platform try not to exceed one hour per broadcast and the reason why is because number one i'm an audio platform so i can easily over talk like you know if you don't have a structurized format you can tend to prattle off and go down rabbit holes in in in basically be redundant and really uh uninspired and so the last thing i want to do as a podcaster is to board a listening audience and if you the longer you talk that's what's surely going to happen because we've got all kinds of means to divide our focus and our attention we got our devices we got you know tablets computers phones just stuff around your house you're living environment you know whether you're in the house or an apartment or wherever you're at just all kinds of stuff to distract you so you know i want to keep my listening audience attentive i want to make my uh you know information digestible and appliable and relatable and you know have and also you know be informative and in the course you know podcasting is a form entertainment i do want to make it slightly entertaining so you know that's why i try to just keep it short brief instead of point and then last but not least i call my uh people to tune into my podcast um instead of referring to our people as black i refer to our people as original people and the reason why i refer to our people as original people instead of black is because you know it's historically accurate and then also the unifiers as a people so what do i mean by historically accurate i mean i mean it's historically accurate in the sense of you know it perfectly describes our place in the world uh historically we were and are the first beings to inhabit this world like we were and are the first people ever on all continents everything be arrived from us before anything was we was we were original we are original not only did we come first we originated everything every modern day convenience you can think of you know there was an ancient version of it that we invented guarantee scientifically can be proven historically can be proven everything we invented everything we built we originated so much we originate we were the original you know educators who was the original architects who was original astronomers and astrologers we were was the original scientists we were the original alchemist we were the original uh mathematicians we were the original uh physicians you know we were the original uh horticulturist botanist farmers was the original farmers like everything every every everything you can think of we originated it so that's why i refer to our people as original people from the historical perspective and then the other reason why i refer to our people as original people is really to unify us as a people because we are so diverse there are so many variations of our people we all speak different languages we hail from different land masses have different viewpoints perspectives on things um just anything you can think of you know to divide the people we have that in our community but out of all those differences that we have we have even more similarities than all those differences so most most of common uh threats that bind us together is that we all possess high concentrations of carbon aka melanin we can all trace our lineage back to the original point of origin and then we all possess um you know that's just intuitive unspoken bond like i might not speak your language you know i might not speak your regional dialects but believe me you know we all have the same plight we all look at the world through the same eyes we're all in tune with nature we're all connected in that sense we we all fight against the same oppressive all over the world it's the same anywhere our people around it's the exact same we're going through the exact same thing breading the uk is going through the exact same thing is the breading system in candida breading candida breading system in candida going through the exact same thing is we going through through here in america vice versa all over the world we're going through the exact same thing we all fight against oppressive governments now one more thing i want to um you know just shed the light on before i just dive right on into the content um something i do every episode i just want to dispel the false narrative of slavery um it seems to be the powers of shouldn't be has appointed slavery to be the most definitive time of our existence you know they want to attach our images and our likenesses to slavery so there are so many things wrong with that because what not the first thing is when they're doing that it's a form of psychological programming and conditioning this they're trying to trigger and stir you know old memories um they're also trying to stoke fears when they're doing that and they're also trying to program us to be docile and accept you know corporal punishment and accept being government governed and ruled over in an unjust way you know there's basically trying to uh be sensitize us to uh oppressive systems of government when they keep on you know just perpetuating the slave narrative because there are so many things wrong with it you know first and foremost as i said you know we were the first people in the entire world we didn't get to anywhere where we're currently at the majority of us didn't get where we're currently residing on a slave boat especially here in the Americas it's like less than 60 percent of us came over on slave boats so while slavery did happen and they did in fact have slave boats the majority of our people was already in visionlessly inhabiting you know the land masses of wherever they're currently residing at like where there is already large concentrations of us living there so just like on some common sense type tip if we was the first people here you didn't you don't think in our in our minds is vastly intelligent as our people were as vastly as innovative as our people were all the things we invented all the things we created you don't think if we was here first we all just stayed in Africa we didn't just be like hmm what's that over there let's go over here y'all let's go over here y'all we just all stayed in one spot nah we was already here in what's called the Americas was already in heat already like in parts of Europe in the UK this iHeartRadio station is brought to you by vitamin water Australia all on the continent of Asia charming east whistling you know middle east was everywhere even the north and south pole was already there thousands of years before somebody came up with a notion to said hmm let's just go to Africa and just like take this little this this group of people let's just start going over there and just taking people with more stand for stands more to you know logical reasoning the air quotes explores most likely enslaved the indigenous people of the indigenous peoples that inhabited the lands that they were exploring at the time rather than keep on going back to one specific point in slaving one specific group of people don't that make more sense then spain they're going to go all the way from spain to Africa when they already got dark skinned people in spain they're going to go to europe and just keep on getting africans for hundreds of years is not no such thing as an afro anything afro is a hairstyle so there ain't no such thing as an afro cuban or afro latino or afro asian or afro whatever it owes was the dark skinned people already indigenously locating in wherever you know the explorers came and colinized that land but you know another uh false narrative that they spread about slavery is our involvement in it we didn't have slaves that's the first thing they said we'll say like oh well you know black people had slaves too we didn't have slaves too we had indentured servants we didn't just sit up there and beat and torture people for centuries it was like you know it was a time when they could just go free like you know after they paid their debt or whatever i can keep i can literally keep on going on and just dispelling like everything they don't make sense about it but the main thing i wanted to just touch on is just like we're not all we didn't all come off slave boats and you know not that we're opposed to the notion that we did like we're ashamed of being from africa that's not yet at all it's just like if you want to tell this story telling right the majority of us already inhabited you know wherever we're currently residing now that's all that i want to point out about that so now diving into the content on this weekday edition of the narrative podcast first thing i want to make the listening audience aware of is i have two different format styles i have a weekday format style and a weekend format style during my weekday format style you know the entire uh podcast is about sharing positive frames of reference during the weekday the positive frames of reference that i share about our people and our culture are positive news articles and the reason i feel like i need to share positive news articles during the weekdays because we're constantly being bombarded with negative news articles all during the weekday about our people and our culture so you know it's a form of psychological warfare it's you know it's done intentionally they know what they're doing when they share these negative headlines they have no regard or respect for our people they want to promote and broadcast us living in strife you know living in violence being underserved you know they want to show us destitute living well at the poverty line or lower they don't ever want to um you know showcase and highlight us at our best they want to just have this looming presence of being broken it's very rare that we're in the news for something positive and when it is it's just like a brief snippet it's like probably like two hours and you will never you know hear nothing positive again but when we do something negative it's an eight month thing it's eight months to a year thing like you know but when we're doing something positive you very rarely hear it at all so that's why i do positive news articles during the week just to put it out in the atmosphere positive things do happen in our community we do have leaders we do have this i-heart radio station is brought to you by vitamin water it is ryan secretes here everybody needs some variety in life that's what i love about chumba casino they know how to keep things fresh and exciting all their games are free to play like spin slots bingo and solitaire you can claim free daily login bonuses too and they release new games every week so spice things up with chumba casino.com now for your chance to redeem some serious prizes sponsored by chumba casino no purchase necessary vgw group void where prohibited by law 18 plus terms and conditions apply so entrepreneur we do have um intellectuals we do have uh humanitarians and uh other dignitaries within our community we're not just all down tried and desperate you know that's why i shared a positive news articles and then like i said i also deliver commentary and when i'm doing the commentary i'm breaking it down you know whatever's happening in the uh you know news from our perspective now my weekend format is slightly different i actually have five sections i'm not going to break down each section what this what it's about but you know basically just three more sections because i only have two during the weekday i got three additional sections during the weekend so a total of five sections um for the weekend so i will point out the key difference so like you know this is a weekday and my positive frame of reference that i start things off with is positive news articles now on the weekend how i start things off my positive frame of reference is um black owned businesses and the reason why i do that is because we have very few frames of reference for that and then you'll just have to tune in and listen to the narrative podcast weekend edition you know for those additional sections that i uh share on my weekend episodes but um we're going to dive into this weekday episode of the narrative podcast with the first positive news article of the evening first positive news article of the evening the headline reads washington dc pardon me y'all is on the wrong page uh founder of black owned social media platform on track to soon have a hundred thousand users and the brother's name is earnest l manning and the name of his social media platform is called we kinfolk we k-i-n folk f-o-l-k all over space uh we is capital the w when we is capital uh the k and kin this capital folk is our lowercase so it's you know no spaces weekend folk the w and the k are capital the folk is lowercase so we kinfolk.com it's also available on uh for android users a google play store iphone users the apple store it's basically a social media platform comparable to uh facebook and instagram uh it's a close-knit community he founded it in 2020 his mission statement is basically to make it a uh social media niche dedicated to providing a safe and supportive space for users to express their love for their culture so i'm guessing like whatever guidelines and restrictions that will get you you know um your account to be suspended on facebook and instagram it wouldn't apply on his social media platform i have not you know created my account but you can't like poke around he doesn't have like a free version of it so like you would actually have to make yourself a um user account and just experiment you know for yourself because i don't know how he has that set up and his features and all that so i can't tell you that you had to just um go to weekend folk and sit your own um platform up and you know see what it got going now i'm a little you know gun shy with our social media platforms we mean well but um you know they never really work now i was on fan base and then uh melanated i forgot what it was this was something melanated world or melanated universe something like that and it just glitched and i couldn't get on it it was just days i couldn't get on and log on i will upload content pictures the content pictures be gone the next day and get locked out of the account so i just gave up on that i think i've done you know deleted my account on that but a whole lot of them they mean well but it just they'd be super glitchy as heck so you know i might do a follow-up i might you know create my own weekend folk account and give you guys an update and see you know how well worked that i socially interact with people on the site i don't know but um it sounds good sounds like a good idea we're gonna see i give you guys an update um an experiment with the uh platform but for right now uh you know if you want to see what's up with it yourself go to weekend folk and create your own uh profile on there and you know play and experiment with that platform but uh this iHeart radio station is brought to you by vitamin water hey it is ryan seacrest there's something so thrilling about playing chumba casino maybe it's the simple reminder that with let's give it up for our brother earnest l manning and wekin folk next article on this week the edition of the narrative podcast the headline reads washington dc screaming of a time to yell more than a statue winner of bronze lens film festival best documentary award and dc black film festival audience choice award and the name of the production studio uh bringing the audience choice uh award ceremony to life is dansville llc an untouchable creative eye and see they are presenting two special screenings of the film in select location in washington dc so the first screening is already um it's already passed it was on the 11th um it was hosted by the washington national cathedral cathedral college of faith and culture and partnership with the national coalition on black civic civic participation or NCBCP and the dc black history film festival hand was held at the washington national cathedral located at 3101 west coast and af north west washington dc on 9/11/24 and it was between the hours of 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. now you do have time to catch the second screening the second screening is set for september 14th which is tomorrow which is uh saturday yeah so tomorrow saturday whatever uh the second screening will be hosted by u.s congress congresswoman jan mcclean of virginia and nakima williams of georgia at the lincoln theater located at 1215 u street north west washington dc on september 14th between the hours of 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. both events will feature a panel discussion with distinguished panelists moderators will include melony campbell executive director of the ncbcp dr west bellamy dr west bellamy reverend camryn leonard handling senior and darryl davis so that's it and that's all it had already started on the 11th so you got time if you're in the dc area on saturday go check that film out um it's an indie film uh you know the budget the production everything black on from the top to the bottom so go support that all right so a bit breakdown of the movie it doesn't have a synopsis per se but the and b has a summary of it basically it just says former charleston ville city council member dr west bellamy's impassionate activism reveals the journey for the racial justice sparked by the controversial removal of confederate statues and leading to one modern america's device of conflict so i'm guessing it had something to do with um during the pandemic when it was taken down confederate flags and trying to remove statues if it just came out this year so i'm guessing so i'll be looking forward to that movie as well if i can see it i will definitely review the movie if i can see it in my neck of the woods so all right let's give a warm narrative podcast round of applause to our brother dr west bellamy and his film titled a time to yell more than just a statue you all right moving right along next article on this weekday edition of the narrative podcast the headline reads black doctor launches new platform to support dads and come back invisible parent syndrome and the doctor in questions name is assisted by the name of doctor laura boardlin dr laura boardlin is a ds w ds w on the dad advocacy dads or the dad advocate site dad ease dot lc the mission statement is to provide fathers opportunities and solutions to remove obstacles that prevent them from fully participating in the lives of their children so they can balance parenting and can be or can uh in the lives of their children so that balance in parenting can be achieved dad ease launches initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the invisible parent syndrome providing workshops keynotes facilitating discussions forums that highlight the importance of equal parenting partnerships if you want to know more visit dad ease dot net and a little bit more about uh the good doctor she's a doctor of social work she's also hosted television show or host of her own uh podcast series gladverse she's also been on countless television shows and she's a published author and writer as well uh she's been on top popular tv in radio shows podcast and uh and uh youtube so check out our book titles on amazon uh she wrote a book titled overcoming bereavement glum to glad overcoming overcoming blues glum to glad 40 day mind overcoming breakups glum to glum to glad glad versity and anthology of inspirational stories on overcoming life's challenges and they're all over on amazon so go cop any one of those titles but um you can follow her on uh twitter laura borlin at borlin laura uh she's also been featured on uh billion success dot com in the article you can go look at her uh linkedin profile she's on linkedin um you know just go support her work and um let's give a warm narrative podcast round of applause for doctor laura borlin dad advocate and then i just want to kind of go off on a little teeny tiny side tangent um um it's it's real rare that ever anyone ever advocates for fathers period like there's no i believe there's just like a misconception of what a man should be like we don't have any support systems we don't you know we can't ever uh exhibit and display emotions you know things bother men too we can't ever talk about what bothers us um in relationships uh we have to bear the brunt of it if it goes wrong it's our fault automatically um you know rearing children it's always dad's fault when you know something at home is not right you know but um especially in our community uh you know the negative stereotype is the black man isn't present in the household but then there's no uh atmosphere for him to remain in the household and so like you know we got a lot of you know young people growing up without a father young black men specifically and then they go on to you know either commit crimes you know be predicate felons and all that or just being one broken relationship after a next broken relationship because they never you know had no positive male influence they don't know how to treat a woman and then the only you know they got their mom who was broken rearing them and essentially poisoning them against their father and just you know they got a negative frame of reference about what a man should be this iHeart radio station is brought to you by vitamin water Ryan Seacrest here when you have a busy schedule it's important to maximize your downtime one of the best ways to do that is by going to chumbakasino.com chumbakasino has all your favorite social casino games like spin slots bingo and solitaire that you can play for free for a chance to redeem some serious prizes so hop on to chumbakasino.com now and live the chumba life sponsored by chumbakasino no purchase necessary vgw group void where prohibited by law 18 plus terms and conditions apply it's just an endless vicious cycle so you know there is a difference between a man and a male and then we do we have certain qualities and characteristics we have to you know keep up we have to be an example of what it means to be a man and at all times we have to carry and conduct ourselves a certain way we got to handle our responsibilities you know a real man will find a way to be there for his child even if the mom's not on board you don't just you know well i can't deal with it like you find a way find a way to deal with it that's yours you know i'm saying a real man but it is extremely difficult when you know because you don't want to also undermine after your child's living with you know the mother you don't want to undermine her authority so you know but then also you have to make your presence in the child's life so it's it's a it's a slippery slope being the guy it's not it's not fun and and that scenario far is like rearing the child um the single dad thing is not you know but i just think that's exceptionally well what she's doing given a dad to give his side of the story account to give his side the story and have the opportunity to be active member in their child's life and then also to find common ground you know with the mom if you can't be with each other at least be civil towards one another because the common goal is to rear your child so that it'll be productive members of society and you know be the best they can be in life without seeing you guys fighting each other like if the relationship didn't work it didn't work but the child's still here you know i'm saying so got to find a way to make it work i got to say i did see something online i forgot the right to tick-tock users account number but this sister she had did an upload you know in no undescribed term she was just saying she's not on terms with you know her child's father you know they didn't hit it off they broke up for whatever reason she don't like them but she don't hate them either and she would never uh you know speak negatively about him in front of their child but basically the guy hit hit rock bottom you know so she made it her priority to you know get them a job she was helping them fill out they're not in a relationship no more um she was helping them fill out job applications and then essentially help him start his own business even though you know there wasn't together no more and she says she felt obligated to do that because you know she wants her son to look have a positive frame of reference for you know what it means to be a man she said even though you know i'm not with him no more that's still my child's father and we're still kind of in this together i don't you know i don't like you know the relationship you know there's without he's not one of my favorite people but you know that's still the father and my child i got to make sure he's good so we can um co-parent effectively and then vice versa because you know a real man he still has to provide even though he's not with the woman anymore he got to make sure she's financially straight got to make sure she has a vehicle got to make sure the utilities are paid you know have money for doctors and after-school activities or just you know activities like museum mall trips you know things you want your child to experience that are nice that cost money like too much in life ain't nothing free so while she's why your child's under her roof you know you want them to experience all the um you know all the good things life has to offer and then when it's your turn you know when she drops the child off with you being you know you're the king of your castle you do it your way you know and just switch up and be there for each other in times indeed if she's down bad she got you if you're down bad or she's down bad you got her you're down best you got you and it don't have to be a romantic thing it's like you know we have to maintain a united friend because we do have to ensure this child has everything they need in life and maintain respect so that's you know effective co-parenting and I think you know it's just not discussed enough within our community we have so many broken people that went you know on the other side of the tracks just because they didn't see um or experience a healthy relationship with their parents it's like they was always at each other's throats the mom talking bad about the dad the dad talking bad about the mom and you know but anyway I just thought think it's um you know high time that dads get their shine that's all I was really trying to um point out because like men we don't have programs like men we just got to figure it out during there's like hardly any type of assistance for a guy if a guy's down bad guys down bad he better you know figure it out some type of way if a guy's down bad women they got all kinds of support systems they got counseling they got you know programs and incentives to uh you know get a job or start their own business all kinds of little social media uh you know gurus and stuff to teach them you know get free free resources you know close for the job interview guys we don't got nothing like if you're a man and you're down bad you just got to figure it out it's we don't get no supportive positive self-talk nothing we get caught a bum and that's our motivation to not be uh to stay down bad so people won't call us a bum like we don't get no sympathy but anyway let's give this um sister a warm narrative podcast round of applause for her uh innovate her innovative program to help strengthen the bonds of you know the original man and the original uh woman in uh creating a healthy family structure all right so now that was my last positive news article of this evening and um i got one more section before signing off and this is my uh current event section i refer to as my speaking point section and in this section what i'm doing is i'm just speaking about you know trending topics or topic singular sometimes i got a whole lot of things i want to address sometimes i only got one thing to address um but you know it's essentially like uh current events i'm delivering commentary on current events and the purpose of me doing that is controlling the narrative because the media have us looking and sounding crazy but um it's my last section for this uh weekday edition of the narrative podcast my speaking point section and the topic the speaking point of this evening is a story that has went viral is currently going viral and that is the untimely demise of a young brother by the name of javian mcgee javian is from chicago illinois and he was found underlined in north carolina he was in north carolina because he is a truck driver so he was on you know truck driving route somehow they found him in north carolina hung from a tree and of course the family doesn't have any answers as to why they're not investigating it um they're giving you know them a run a run around assisted by a tick tocker his cousin is the one that is in charge of this story going viral because before she you know did her tick type they was basically trying to uh sweet the whole you know illicit affair under the rug you know we got so much going on in the world you sure enough would have got swept up under the rug because um you know people have already stopped talking about um roger fortson and uh sanya massy and as well as uh another brother it wasn't by law enforcement but he did get unalive on camera um i believe his name was uh davante uh davante jax so people we've stopped talking about those brothers and sisters who have you know met their untimely demise um so let's not make that mistake um there's currently you know it's cousin has launched a hashtag revolution justice for uh jvon uh and her username on tick tock is uh scotty primpin so um go to uh scotty primpins profile on tick tock share that video share share um you know hashtag justice for jvon and we got to um you know band together and write this i-heart radio station is brought to you by vitamin water you slept through your alarm miss the train and your breakfast sandwich uh cold sounds like you could use some luck i'm victoria cash and lucky land is where people go every day to get lucky at lucky land you can play over a hundred casino style games for free for your chance to redeem some serious prizes go to luckylandslots.com and get lucky today no purchase necessary vgw proof we're prohibited by law 18 plus terms and conditions apply finally together and make a big deal when we hear stories like that in our community i know there's so much going on in the world like um you know we just lost uh you know we're going to lose people like we just lost uh january zero johns uh frankie beverly like every other week is something new but when we have you know deaths like that in our community we have to be vocal about it we have to utilize our platforms um to you know expose and saturate social media until justice is delivered within because anytime you know it pertains to our people it's always we get the cliche the hands of justice move slowly but anytime when our people is in the wrong and commit a crime that same slow moving uh that same blind slow moving bitch justice will move quick in the mug when we are the perpetrators of a crime but when something happens to us it'll take you know usually um eight months to a year before an investigation even happens and um he is not the first person they got lynched like we just went through this last year um remember assisted uh what is her name yolanda you bring it's just happened last year assisted by the name of yolanda you bring they found her hanging from the tree now when they found her they were saying you know she had mental health issues she had uh she called the police a couple times where uh or the police came out to you know that area a couple times because somebody called on her because she was having mental health issues but essentially they tried to say she did it to herself she committed suicide and that's essentially what they're saying about this brother um when the family checked in on the story it was giving them the run around they were saying he was spotted at Walmart buying some rope who goes to Walmart to buy rope yeah he's a truck driver but they got other equipment to like hold your load down or hold stuff down in the um truck so that's not making sense so yeah they will in the heartbeat say mental health it uh that's the first thing they'll say is mental health so mid-west goes down south it's strung up and hung by a tree strung up hanging by a tree um another hanging victim a brother by the name of so is it me or does it seem like every time election season comes around we get those types of depths it's like they're making a statement we're gonna hang some inwards by a tree like them times like we think we done progressed we haven't progressed um racially in this country why uh people it's important uh cop Kamala sitting up there allowing her to say there's no racism in this country or allowing her to say yeah she's saying there's no racism in this country it's playing this thing and there's many more there's like three other brothers and sisters that have been hung lynched in the last decade in the last five years has been over a dozen brothers and sisters they've been down south hanging from a tree and we're living in 2000s you're not in the 60s 70s 80s no more we in the 2000s now so they still do that down south why you think they don't they do it in certain places in the mid-west too certain neighborhoods on the east coast up north for sure so it's everywhere we can't escape it we got to deal with it head on but when we have atrocities like this in our community um you know we can't let it slide we can't get laxed yeah we got to make a big deal we can't worry about people uh talking crazy like oh you need to get off the internet you take the internet so seriously nah i take life seriously i don't know that brother but that could be me i don't know that brother but that could be my little my little brother my little cousin my little nephew you know what i mean that's how we the mind state we have to uh always keep when we hear stories like that we have to see ourselves in it because we've been brainwashed in condition to believe in this little me and my mind state as long as me and mine are good i ain't worried about nobody else that's a dangerous toxic mentality to have because if it's happening to something your next door neighbor you better believe it can't be happening to you if there's a family living across the street from you and they ain't got no uh food or light or uh you know they living just uh barely above the poverty line that could happen to you we think just because we come up and get a little money we can buy our way out of this systemic oppression stuff we can buy our way out of this racism like they don't care about your money they don't care about your status they don't care about your celebrity status they don't care about your clicks they don't care about your views when they look at you you is an inward hard-r and they want to go out of your way to show and prove to you that's who you are that's what they think about you and if they catch you lacking they're going to do you like they just did this brother while we sitting up here you know treating each other like the odds we still got these types of ops they ain't with nowhere they just wait for opportune times to strike and then if they ain't people like them it's these people these white and senate and white delusionists i don't call them supreme it supremeist because there ain't not supreme about them they're delusional these white delusionists doing these mass shootings and then um unaliving themselves if they believe they're so superior why are you going to offer yourself after you take out 10 or 12 black people now are you big and bad unaliving and then go to the joint to prove how supreme you are it ain't nothing going to happen to you while you're incarcerated which you want to take the coward way out and then alive yourself yeah so you know the more things change the more things stay the same it's still here that presence is looming over us would never be out of the woods it's sad but definitely uh you know utilize your social media platforms justice for jvon um and once again look at uh the story go to his cousin's um tiktok account her tiktok username is scottie crimping p-r-i-m-p-i-n and um you know rip rise with fortsin rip uh saunya massy rip devonta jackson rip jord kneeley rip robert fuller and the list goes on i'ma just do it like this rip the uh unsolved hanging victims in our community we've got to stay uh vigilant on this show we can't let this go we got to see it too you know investigation and conviction in the conviction happens but um this episode of the narrative podcast is a rat uh check me out uh tomorrow in a few hours for my weekend episode of the narrative podcast that's it and that's all uh working together uh moving in unity forgiving one another loving each other we will overcome and we will change the narrative um i'm changing the narrative one episode at a time i'm asking you to help me change the narrative as a
