Broncos stop the Steelers all on a huge football weekend banny and Jeff the best sports puck radio speaking football Friday edition let's go Alex oh my goodness gracious man the show we've got for you guys today it's got everything it's got a huge starring cast it's got a great plot it has drama suspense the death of a star you never saw coming it's got romance it's got Sydney Sweeney achacha cheese a little vino and wouldn't you know we have a very satisfying ending for you guys as well too so uh lots to talk about Jeff getting geared up here Alex producing the product he got his ears must win this is a super double triple must win uh if the buffs lose this game not only is everything called into question but it's even more radical than that it's even like people be calling for i think primes head yeah and people are going to be kind of thinking well this is like Colin cowherd said the whole the whole program is about a Heisman campaign for shrav and a number one overall you know a campaign for for for shador well those are lofty expectations too doesn't that come with the win yeah it really does it not they don't give out heismans to four win quarterbacks or wide receivers or cornerbacks or whatever you are if you're going to get five wins you're not going to be the number one overall pick in the draft for real you really think that shador can get five wins and be the number one overall pick that's crazy time no that's not that crazy actually it depends how he looks in all of the game closest you don't have to be we've proven that Patrick Mahomes was a penics michael penics is a great win national champion bo next was a great winner who am i leaving out jay mccarth he was also in a national championship winning helps but it's not everything it's not in college he had receivers that were like alex and uh nilo oof that's no good i mean got one nice quality receiver and alex but a nilo is just out there you know he's got to play receiver special needing one more receiver one more tied in one more defensive you know stud they rolled the dice on themselves and the rest uh i don't i don't like history it's true bro that's just what it takes Bradley chub let's move to the bronchos in the Steelers who if you guys were chompatin or your bronchos fan who would you rather face rather face on sunday russ or just in fields on three one two three russ why jeff oh who would i rather face how's the bronchos yeah like yeah fields i think russ knows john and he knows your defense and he's got a familiar he'd rather face russ you'd rather face russ i'd rather face fields we know what russ could do or not do you know russ's weaknesses you saw what fields didn't do last week yeah but justin fields could rush the ball for like 80 yards and two touchdowns okay and that's what the biggest fear is that's the most dangerous scenario in fear within this equation or the question that i'm answering what's the question um yeah so that's what i would say i'm going fields still i think he's not as good of a pro quarterback as russ wilson has proven to be fields has what you like to call like that pass pout and kick upside he can break one off you know like gino smith broke off that 35 yard run but he's a good passer he's a good pocket quarterback he gets rid of the ball he knows how to read fields is having a hard time with all those things i just listed other than running so they didn't get a touchdown the first week why wouldn't you want to go against the guy who's got zero touchdowns in his first start he's got as many touchdowns as inactive i i i can't appreciate the way you're looking at yeah no i think this is what winning feels it's not it's two factors there's the two biggest factors for me alex man the danger of not russ the danger of justin fields thank you second second is i know who and what it russ is what he can and can't do what's gonna frustrate him and i'm going to gain plan accordingly to stop a guy who i kick to the curb know everything about and i'm gonna go prove myself i want to go prove myself i think that's fair like the argument i used for russ is that he has familiarity with the team but i guess if if i'm gonna get to use that then you have to say the rock goes ahead completely with jeff well which one's stronger of a factor there alex but help us because we're on one side of the other i think it's probably a wash no in the quarter back in his strengths and weaknesses and tendencies i think that's the most important i guess there's no simmons there's no watch this who's more pressure who is there more pressure on russ to find a way to elevate and win and get back at the broncos where chan payton to prove he was right um in the decision with russ i think chan payton more pressure really i think this is a career reviver for russ type of stuff i mean this is like another game where chan payton where vegas sees chan payton as the head coach of your broncos and will not give them like a 40 point russ would have a free win these over-unders coming in your one and oh has chan paid ever has over-unders this low before i couldn't believe it when we had the hooters girls on and it was a 36 and a half yeah that's that's for chan payton's team yeah okay i get it what is going on chan payton's team is just score 36 themselves you're good today now you're getting back i appreciate that nice so yeah um something to think about um of course it would make for one of the best stories of the entire nfl season uh around the whole league and the biggest story thus far shooter of the season um it would be the broncos avenging themselves against russ or russ coming to denver getting that win taking the stealers to two and oh go look at the numbers two and oh teams that start probably make the play off you know sixies period of the time whatever it is um that's a career reviver for us literally potential i seize the job by going up beating the broncos and scoring 24 points against them or something like that to beat them and then people in pittsburgh get behind russ at that point because six fill goals ain't gonna get people excited and people of pittsburgh know better if they're gonna really have any expectations to win it's gonna be because of russ it's not gonna be because of just the fills running around like a running back playing quarterback so stealers fans are smart they'll buy in this is a big one for us this is a big one for us i'm gonna set the over-under at one and a half for denver bronco safety let's go out to the was like somebody's kids know each other played against each other in high school all that kind of stuff it there's not a lot of that would see you squad to be honest with you but the rivalry factor makes this a good a good game and a tough challenge for cu and to me kind of not even is the playing field but it adds a lot to cs use chances here so you know if you're looking at the buffs it doesn't matter though if they lose they're done if they lose they're done they're done they're not gonna be able to come back i mean like it's like an uh of abandoned ship almost it's like uh transfer portal's gonna open early i just think you a lot of questions and things happen because of that because shador is going to the nfl and so is trav so how much longer are those guys gonna play before they shut it down and focus on being first round picks and making um 30 40 million dollars literally 30 or 40 million dollars in that um at in six months less than six months right that's tough man conference realignment it would be nice if somehow the fbs could try and persuade teams to sign up for rivalry games um or trophy games or whatever that means because and maybe give them a point and a half or give them 1.5 multiplier on their win or something like somehow all that money not so much money but like promote that if if you play these kind of rivalry games we're going to give you more credit for your wins and losses and we're going to give you a tougher strength of schedule based on some type of multiplier so that we don't lose these games we i don't want to lose Nebraska or CSU that i i think they should be on the schedule every year like it's yeah i know but that doesn't that's old school traditions and things like that right the new school thing is money and and points trying to but now that there's 12 teams new schools new rivalries just different things 12 teams they can make it work important in the 80s and the 90s isn't as important today stuff from the 80s the 90s stuff from 2k and all your problems from today so they haven't played up in Fort Collins since 1996 right because covid it was supposed to be played at the new stadium but covid canceled the game consider going up there with your kids um it's it's going to be a big football weekend and then of course the Steelers come in here i mean you know you go back to Tibo and Demarius the Steelers and Broncos you know they've they've never really got along um and there's been plenty of too many times where you get them terrible towels waving it right here in Denver and uh you can't have that can't have oh no you can't have that not only that i heard rumors going around as the coach loses all this year again then i heard they might get bringing Peyton Manning as coach i'd rather see that and have a good quarterback for your different Broncos just like our Raiders because the Chargers are looking good and the Chiefs need to be knocked up god that's where your job might cause you better
