Celebrities Are Breaking the Political Script and I’m Here for It

A handful of A-List celebrities have recently refused to either endorse Kamala Harris or trash Donald Trump when pressured to do so by the media. Turns out not all celebrities are brainwashed by the left after all. Let’s talk about it.

So what do Usher, Caitlin Clark, Dwayne The Rock, Johnson, and Elle and John have in common? Well, they're all celebrities, and they've all recently sort of stepped outside of the typical Woke box that we so often find Hollywood celebrities in. Let's talk about it. Guys, before we get into today's video, please like and subscribe. As you know, we follow Hollywood and pop culture a lot on this channel. They are often on the political left. They're endorsing people like Kamala Harris. We've seen it from the likes of Taylor Swift, Charlie XCX. We're constantly reacting to Woke movies or Woke political takes from celebs. But today we're going to be talking about something a little different because we have four celebrities that are actually challenging the typical thing that we see from Hollywood celebs. And we're actually going to start off with singer Usher. You guys know him. He was recently on the show that we all know and hates the view. And he was being asked by Joy Behar, essentially to endorse Kamala Harris. She set him up a hook-wise singer for him to just smoothly respond that everybody should vote for her, but he goes in a very different direction and it makes things a little uncomfortable on set. Let's watch. In this emergency that we're in, I think that the whose artists just come out and speak for Kamala against Donald Trump because he is an existential threat to the country. What do you say to that? You know what, I don't get too deep into politics. I didn't get a chance to watch the debate last night. I obviously have been watching like everybody else. I think voting is an individual choice and I think that you're right. You have to look at the reality of the country that we are and the country that we want to be and find the candidate that you feel both are who fits the category of where we want to be. And that's it and that's what you vote based off of, who you highlight and how you choose to highlight it on whatever platform you have is your prerogative. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. That's the one. That's really, you know. You can tell they all had to sit there and grapple with the fact that he was in no way responding in the way that they expected him to and you know what, it's the confidence for me. It's the audacity for me from Joy Behar to just assume that he was going to straight out endorse Kamala Harris and instead he gave sort of a politician's answer about how everybody should look into their own candidate and everybody has the individual choice to go out there in a vote. But what else are you supposed to do when somebody puts you on the spot and essentially tells you outright to endorse a candidate because the other is a threat to our democracy and how many times have you heard about Donald Trump yet in the four years that he was president we lived through it and I think we still have a democracy. I think what happened is they thought that Usher, probably being a black man, was going to fall straight for the Kamala Harris train, be the one to hop on the view and endorse her and that's not what happened. And of course it was followed by an awkward silence because what are you supposed to do when you set somebody up for that moment and then the moment doesn't happen and then they have to not and go, yeah, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right for giving the neutral take the people should look into each candidate and decide based on their morals and values who they support, yeah, I think Usher is right. But we all know the view is not going to learn that lesson and they'll find somebody else to come on the show and endorse Kamala as all of those women spout the same woke narrative that we see time and time again on the show. Now we're going to move from Usher to Caitlyn Clark. You will know Caitlyn Clark as the WNBA player who plays on the India fever. She's been the topic of much controversy simply for existing honestly. Many members of the WNBA are not happy with Caitlyn Clark. Why? Because Caitlyn Clark is a fantastic basketball player and she's a white girl. Let's be honest. Now she was asked how she feels about certain political candidates and having people vote because she apparently liked a picture on Taylor Swift's Instagram about voting. This was Caitlyn Clark's response. Caitlyn, you liked an Instagram post last night from Taylor Swift that got a lot of attention and I'm just curious if you could tell us what that post meant to you and if you are in fact potentially going to endorse Kamala Harris. Thank you. I think for myself is, you know, I have this amazing platform so I think the biggest thing would be just encourage people to register to vote. I think for myself is the second time I can vote an election at age 22 I could vote when I was 18. So I think do that. That's the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have and that's the same thing, Tera did. And I think continue to educate yourself with the candidates that we have, the policies that they're supporting. I think that's the biggest thing you can do and that's what I would recommend to every single person that has that opportunity in our country. A perfect diplomatic answer which is so typical for Caitlyn Clark in all the different controversies that she's experienced throughout her very short career already in the NBA. Just tell people to go out and educate themselves and vote according to that education. What more do you want her to say as somebody who's a basketball player? And I can totally understand that some celebrities want to come out full force with their activism and every single policy that they care about and who they're going to endorse. But it can be a sticky subject for more reasons than one and she chose to just step back a little bit, she can go and like her Instagram posts, but she's not going to come out full force and endorse a candidate. She just encourages everybody else to do their own work and then let that work take you to the ballot box and I'll go a step further. You know, I know people say everybody should vote and you guys know what I feel about this. Not everybody should vote. Vote if you are politically literate. Vote if you know about the two different candidates, if you know about the issues that are important to you, if you know at least or can guess the impact they're going to have on your country, then maybe you go and vote, which I think is sort of what Usher and Caitlin Clark said. So you know what? I can support that. Now we're going to move on to a sort of different message that a few celebrities have put out and they're getting a lot of heat and backlash for doing so. We're going to start with Elton John and you will know him, you know, the very famous singer Elton John, who was also a gay man. And I guess because he's gay, people expected him to be again endorsing Kamala Harris. I'll let you guys know now, but he's put out no endorsement. In fact, he has a strong stance on not endorsing anybody in US politics, which makes sense because he's not a United States citizen. But in a recent interview, Elton John said some kind of words about Donald Trump. That's literally it. He said kind words about Donald Trump. And this set the internet ablaze. Everybody was coming at him, trying to remind him that he is a gay man. And I guess if you're gay, you can't like Donald Trump, make that make sense. The math is not mathing, but let's view the clip from Elton John to see what all the raucous is about. I know that you're not a supporter of Donald Trump's. He loves your music. How did it feel when he took the lyrics to Rocket Man and he used it as a nickname for Kim Jong Un and then he gave Kim Jong Un? I laughed. I thought it was brilliant. I was just like, "Good on you, Donald. I'm the Rocket Man." Yeah. Donald's always been a fan of mine and he's been to my concerts many, many times. So I mean, I've always been friendly towards him and I thank him for his support. Yeah, when he did that, I just thought it was hilarious. It made me laugh. He gave Kim one of your CDs and signed it. That was one of the books about him because Kim, I guess, didn't know the song. So... What's that? Which let's pause and talk about how actually hilarious it is that Donald Trump is referring to Kim Jong Un as a little rocket man with all the rocket test that he's doing. And he actually handed him a signed CD of Elton. Okay. I just had to get that out. Gave Kim Jong Un the signed CD, you know, which he needs to hurt a bit. I know, of course he hasn't heard of it, he couldn't do it. I know. He'd be very surprised if he had. I've never toured North Korea and I have no intention of doing so. But it was, I thought it was a light moment and it was fun. So just to get a full view of the quote that everybody's running with, Elton John said, "I laughed. I thought that was brilliant. I've always been friendly towards him and I thank him for his support. That is apparently what puts you in leftist jail. You say that somebody's always been a supporter of you and you thank them for that support. As if we're no longer allowed to do that to anybody who is a Republican and, of course, especially Donald Trump since he is somehow the evil representative of everything that's wrong with the world." This was a very neutral statement and was in no way an endorsement yet Elton John received so much heat for saying this very neutral statement that he actually had to release a second statement saying that he's not endorsing Donald Trump and that he doesn't get involved in US politics. It's a big no-no to say anything nice about Donald Trump. It's an even bigger no-no to endorse him and many have learned that recently. A celebrity that comes to mind for me is actually Britney Mahomes, the wife to Pat Mahomes, the QB on the Kansas City Chiefs. She liked to post on Trump's Instagram and was immediately in the middle of this vast controversy over her endorsement of him and she actually had to address it and stand up for herself and say, "You know what, I'm entitled to my own political opinion." It's really getting insane out there. Now, on the back of Elton John and his kind words towards Donald Trump was actually doing the rock Johnson saying something nice about Donald Trump and a very similar message that Trump has supported him. Let's watch the clip. So, he used to come watch the wrestle all the time, and that's just where it got him down. It was great. It lasted for the last time, it was the first time I saw him play it, so let me see the eyebrows. [laughter] That's cool. So, he was a fan. He wanted to hear the fan. Oh, yeah. That's cool. He used to come to the message where it got him five and six. So, not only a message about how kind Donald Trump wants to him in supporting him in all of his wrestling matches, but something more than that, whether you love or hate Donald Trump, somebody tried to assassinate him. And that may have been who we were in the moment, but that is not who we are as a country. A very powerful message, but even that is apparently a very controversial thing to say. And that very controversy that is stoked by kind statements about Donald Trump is, I think, playing into him being assassinated. We've really put him on this sort of evil pedestal as this horrible man that, as you said before, represents everything wrong with this country. Why would you not act violently towards somebody who's being characterized in that light? And honestly, to see celebrities even do something as neutral as saying something kind about Donald Trump is actually very impactful. Given the current state of Hollywood, media, and entertainment, the whole propaganda apparatus that we all seem to find ourselves susceptible to, it is powerful to see even the most neutral of statements from celebrities and people of influence, because we are so used to the opposite. It's like a Hollywood machine that churns out the same narrative over and over and over, and we're so used to this expectation of hearing these left-leaning, woke, vicious sentiments from celebrities that when we get even a taste of something different, we jump for joy and start cheering these people on. And you know what? I hope we do build a space where people are more comfortable to make statements like this. So far, not so good, because so many of the celebrities find themselves immediately receiving backlash for saying these things. We need to make it a comfortable environment, and funnily enough, it's the people who say they want safe spaces that are creating uncomfortable environments where you can't be honest about the things you actually think and feel. I told you all once, I'll tell you again. There are so many celebrities who are not woke, who are even conservative, celebrities who are going to go out and support people like Donald Trump, or they support conservative values in their daily lives. Do you hear them ever say a word about it? No, it is zipped tight, because they can't say anything about it. The power structures and the elites that be don't allow it. But the more that we get celebrities like this, who dip their toes in the water of coming forward and saying things like this. The more I think we'll see reasonable people choose to take on the brave move of coming forward and saying what it is they actually feel. So I invite all of this. I know people get a lot of criticism and they say, you know, a celebrity says one good thing once and all of a sudden we're cheering them on. I'm not giving a full endorsement of all of these celebrities and everything they say. I'm simply pulling out what I think are pretty important moments showing them to you so that we can encourage war of this behavior because it's more of what we need. I know celebrities shouldn't have all the influence in the world, but let's be honest. They have massive platforms and they do influence people. So when we see celebrities saying things that we like, maybe we should talk about it. And those are just my thoughts. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments down below. As always, if you like this video, like, subscribe, click the notification bell to be notified every single comic poster video for you guys, which is every day. And with that, I'm going to see you guys next time and hopefully we get more messages like this. Bye guys. Yeah, you're better. Yeah, you're better. Yeah, you're better.
