(upbeat music) Hey, hey, hey, hey. Yeah, hey, we back. All right, all right. How's everybody doing? That'll be encouraged, being encouraged. If nobody's told you you can, you can. You can hear his voice. You can follow his will. Your journey can get a little bit better. We're going to do our part. Try to help get to the end. Okay, welcome back to his story, his story again. We may tell many stories, but the one that's going to count the most is his in my personal study yesterday and today. What I'm going to do is read a few verses before we get into our next chapter in john 11 for our study so have your scriptures are your your Bible or device ready to read through that scripture. I'm reading out a yes of you. You could really do it out any of the versions of the same, right. Just a little bit different verbiage but same meaning thought came across my mind. And my study, the scripture that says taste and see that the Lord is good. Send a book of Psalms. First we do have to believe that he exists. And from there, the adventure begins. And from my own pilgrimage. There is none like the Lord. There's none like him. I was listening to actually spend some time this morning with my wife and we were worshipping and it wasn't planned. It was impromptu. So it was just praising God like out of our out of our spirit. And it was beautiful. And just coming at it. But I wanted to share that with you because it's like that whole scripture of taste and see that the Lord is good. And he absolutely is. I can't explain his presence. But what I can share is the hope. What I can share is the good news. What I can do is encourage there is life in him. So I love you my friends. May the Lord bless and keep you. May his face shine upon you. Be gracious and give you peace. Until the next time. We'll go ahead and go. And let me read Romans 15 and 1 and then we'll go into John 11. So 15 1 and I'm skip to verse 4 and then verse 13 and then 20 and then we'll get into our reading. So Romans 15 1. We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the week and not to please ourselves. Verse 4, for whatever was written in former days was written from for our instruction that through endurance and through the encouragement of the scriptures, we might have hope. May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another and accord with Christ Jesus that together you may be with one voice glorify the God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you for the glory of God. Then verse 13. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace and believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope. And then verse 20. And thus I make it my ambition to preach the good news or the gospel, not where Christ has already been named, unless I build on someone else's foundation. But as it is written, those who have never been told of him will see and those who have never heard will understand. All right, go ahead and go over to John 11. Chapter 11, and we'll go ahead and read through the scripture and we'll see you next time. So now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha. It was Mary who anointed the Lord with ointment and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill. So the sister sent to him saying, Lord, he whom you love is ill. But when Jesus heard it, he said, this illness does not lead to death. It is for the glory of God so that the Son of God may be glorified through it. Now Jesus loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus. So when he heard that Lazarus was ill, he stayed two days longer in a place where he was. Then after this, he said to the disciples, let us go to Judea again. And the disciples said to him, Rabbi or teacher, the Jews were just now seeking to stone you. And are you going to go there again? Question. In Jesus' answer, are there not 12 hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble because he sees the light of this world. But if anyone walks in the night, he stumbles because the light is not in him. After saying these things, he said to them, our friend Lazarus has fallen asleep. But I go to awaken him. The disciples said to him, Lord, if he's fallen asleep, he will recover. Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought that he meant taking rest and sleep. Then Jesus told them plainly, Lazarus died. And for your sake, I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him. And so Thomas called the twin, said to his fellow disciples, let us also go, that we may die with him. Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had been in the tomb four days. Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off, and many of the Jews had come to Martha and Mary to console them concerning their brother. So when Martha heard that Jesus was coming, she went and met him, but Mary remained seated in the house. Martha said to Jesus, Lord, if he had been here, my brother would have not have died. But even now, I know that whatever you ask from God, God will give you. And Jesus said to her, your brother will rise again. Martha said to him, I know he's going to rise again in the resurrection on the last day. And Jesus said to her, I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he died, he will live. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this? Question mark. She said, yeah, Lord, I believe that. You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world. When she had said this, she went and called her sister Martha, saying in private, the teacher is here and is calling for you. And when she heard it, she rose quickly and went to him. Now Jesus had not yet come into the village. But was still in the place where Martha had met him. And when the Jews who were with her in the house, consoling her, saw Mary rise quickly and go out. They followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep there. Now, when Moses came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell out his feet, saying to Lord, if you have been here, my brother would have not had died. And when Jesus saw her weeping and the Jews who had come with her, also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, where have you laid him? And they said to him, Lord, come and see. And then Jesus wept, or Jesus cried. So the Jews said, see how he loved him. But some of them said, could he not who opened eyes of the blind, also have kept this man from dying? Question. Then Jesus deeply moved again, came to the tomb, and it was a cave and a stone laying against it. Jesus said, take away the stone. Martha, the sister of the dead man, said to him, Lord, by this time there will be an odor for he has been dead for four days. And Jesus said to her, did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God? Question. So he took away the stone, and Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, and I know that you always hear me. But I said this on account of the people standing around me that they may believe you sent me. And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice, Lazarus, come out. The man who had died came out. His hands and feet were bound with the linen strips and his face wrapped with the cloth. And Jesus said to him, unbind him and let him go. Many of the Jews, therefore, who had come with Mary, and had seen what he did believed in him. But some of them went to the Pharisees and told them what Jesus had done. So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered at the council and said, what are we to do? For this man performs many signs. If we let him go on, let him go on like this, everyone is going to believe in him. And the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation. But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest in that year, said to them, you know nothing at all. Nor do you understand that it is better for you that one man should die for the people, not the whole nation should perish. He did not say this of his own court, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation, and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who were scattered abroad. So from that day on, they may plan to put him to death. Jesus therefore no longer walked openly among the Jews, but went from there to the region near the wilderness to a town called Ephraim, and there he stayed with his disciples. Now the Passover of the Jews was at hand, and many went out from the country to Jerusalem before the Passover to purify themselves. They were looking for Jesus and saying to one another, as they stood in the temple, what do you think, question, that he will not come to the feast at all? Now the chief priests and the Pharisees have given orders that if anyone knew where he was, he shall let them know so that they might arrest him. (upbeat music)
