(upbeat music) Hey, hey, hey, hey. Yeah, hey, we back. All right, all right. How's everybody doing? That'll be encouraged, being encouraged. If nobody's told you you can, you can. You can hear his voice. You can follow his will. Your journey can get a little bit better. We're going to do our part to help get to the end. All right, all right, all right. Welcome back. Welcome back to his story, his story. You may hear many stories that are through this podcast, but the one that reigns supreme is the story of our Lord. So this morning I was just in prayer in worship, which I'm not sure how you spend your time in prayer and worship. A lot of times you'll see I may, you know, play some instrumental worship music in the background. Sometimes there's no music. Sometimes I'm walking and I do prayer worship when I walk with my my dog. Sometimes, you know, I actually go into a closet. Spend time in prayer worship. Sometimes I pray in the morning. Sometimes I pray in the evening. The point is, is that I spend some time in prayer and worship. We also got, we always got to do that. Like the scripture says, you know, praying without ceasing and it's really just communication with the Father. Always keeping them at top of mind, no matter what's going on in your life or circumstances or your, your, your sight of your world or the world that surrounds you. Or even when you're thinking about others, right, and you're praying for them is keeping God at the top of mind. So praying without ceasing to worship him first and foremost, but then also to keep each other in prayer. So one of the things that I was looking at this morning was second Peter chapter one verse three through eight. And what we're looking at. If you have your Bibles, go ahead and turn over to it. Second Peter chapter one verse three through eight. We're going to read the scripture and then we'll go into our regular study with John 12. And then of course I will see you on the next episode. But what we're looking at in second Peter chapter one verse three. This is what it says, it says his divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them, he may become partakers of the divine nature. Have an escape from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire. For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue. And virtue with knowledge in knowledge with self control and self control with endurance or steadfastness, steadfastness. And with steadfastness or endurance, with godliness and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. So that's what came out of my prayer time this morning. And so I encourage you, those things, make sure that you're adding to them, right? Make them yours and the Lord will keep you in this journey. So continue enduring your pilgrimage and turn over to John chapter 12, which you are doing now. And so we're continuing in our study. All right, so John chapter 12, verse one, six days before the Passover, Jesus therefore came to Bethany where Lazarus was. And when Jesus had raced from the dead, whom he had raced from the dead. So remember, we had just talked about that in John 11. So they gave a dinner for him there, Lazarus. "Martha served and Lazarus was one of those reclining with him at the table. Mary therefore took a pound of expensive ointment made from pure nard and anointed the feet of Jesus. It wiped his feet with her hair. The house was filled with the fragrance of the perfume, but Judas is scary. The one of his disciples, the one who would betray him, said, "Why was this ointment not sold for 300 denari and given to the poor?" And he said this, "Not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. And having charge of the money bag, he used to help himself to what was put into it." Jesus said, "Leave her alone, so that she may keep it for the day of my burial. For the poor you will always have with you, but you do not always have me." And when a large crowd of the Jews learned that Jesus was there, they came not only on account of him, but also to see Lazarus, whom he had raised from the dead. So the chief priest made plans to put Lazarus to death as well. Because on account of him, many of the Jews were going away and believing in Jesus. The next day, the large crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying out, "Hosanna, blesses the one who comes in the name of the Lord, even the king of Israel." And Jesus found a young donkey, sat on it just as it was written, "Fear not, daughter of Zion. Behold, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey's coat." His disciples did not understand these things at first, but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and had been done to him. The crowd that had been with him, when he called Lazarus out of the tomb, raised him from the dead, continued to bear witness. The reason why the crowd went to meet him was that they heard he had done this sign. So the Pharisees said to one another, "You see, that you are gaining nothing? Look, the world has gone after him." Now among those who went to worship at the feast were some Greeks. So these came to Philip, who was from Bethesda, or Beseida, and Galilee, and asked him, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus." And Philip went and told Andrew, Andrew went and told... Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. And Jesus answered them, "The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified." Truly, truly I say to you, "Unless a grand wheat falls to your thin dies, it remains alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it. Whoever hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves me, he must follow me. And where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him." Now is my soul troubled. And what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour? Question. But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father glorified your name. And then a voice came from heaven. I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again. The crowd that stood there heard it, said that it thundered. Others said an angel had spoken to him. He answered, "This voice has come for your sake, not mine." Now is the judgment of this world. Now will the ruler of the world be cast out? And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to himself. Myself. He said this to show by what kind of death he was going to die. So the crowd answered him. We have heard from the law that the Christ remains forever. How can you say that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Question. Who is the Son of Man? So Jesus said to them, "The light is among you for a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, lest the darkness overtake you. The one who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going. While you have the light, believe in the light that you may have that you may be, it may become sons of light." When Jesus had said these things, he departed and hid himself from them. Though he had done so many signs before them, they still did not believe in him. So that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled. Lord, who has believed what he heard from us, to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed. Therefore, they could not believe. For again, Isaiah said, he has blinded their eyes and hearted their heart. Because they see with their eyes and understand with their heart and turn and I would heal them. Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory and spoke of him. Nevertheless, many, even of the authorities believed in him, but for the fear of the Pharisees, they did not confess it so that they would not be put out of the synagogue. For they loved the glory that comes from man, more than the glory that comes from God. And Jesus cried out and said, "Whoever believes in me, believes not in me, but in him who sent me, and whoever sees me, sees him who sent me. I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge them. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world. The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge. The word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. For I have not spoken on my own authority, but the Father who sent me has himself given me a commandment, what to say and what to speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. What I say, therefore I say, as the Father has told me. [Music]
